Carlos was sitting on his bed on the guest level of Lux. He held the angel feather Lucifer gave him and was twirling it around. Lucifer was right as the feather was helping Carlos stay calm. Especially since Carlos was a little tense at the moment. It's been a few days since Lucifer and Eve hooked up and the've been going at it like rabbits since then. Carlos was able to get a few tiny moments here and there to talk to his dad/train with him. But it wasn't the same. He knew that Lucifer's mind was occupied by Eve. So Carlos used those few precious moments to learn from Lucifer and to learn control over his powers better. But it wasn't going at the rate Carlos wanted. Sure he used his massive free time to work on homework/classwork that Jane was sending him from Auradon Prep, but now after a few days with little time spent with his dad, he was starting to feel lonely. But he would not give him his journey. Not because of some woman who is trying to steal Lucifer's attention away. Sure he could just command her to leave, but Lucifer would not take that kindly so Carlos had to tread lightly.

Sighing, he put the wing back in its box and thought, "Maybe I should go see Linda for some sessions. She's someone I could vent to. But first, maybe I could try to get some time with with dear old dad." He hopped off the bed and put on the chain with his mother's ring, causing his white hair to turn brown and slightly curly. He walked over to the elevator with the mirror in hand and saw that Lucifer and Eve weren't in an intimate moment.

Up in the penthouse, Lucifer was playing quietly on the piano with a cigarette in his mouth. "Lucifer," Eve called out from the bedroom. "I can think of something better to do with those fingers." Lucifer pulled the cigarette out and said, "Give the devil a moment to recharge." Eve then stepped out wearing a leaf bra and leaf underwear, literally made out of leaves, "Look what came in the mail today. It's a me costume." Lucifer smirked, "I can see." Eve walked over to him and asked, "Does it make you want to come over here and tempt me?" "It does," Lucifer responded. He played a melody on the piano and Eve danced her way over to him. She sat next to him and took his cigarette saying, "It is so great to finally have a boyfriend that actually likes to have fun." Lucifer put his hands on the piano keys and asked, "Boyfriend?" "I don't know," Eve replied. "Boo, bae? I'm still not caught up on the slang. Come into the bedroom. I'll show you what else came in the mail." Eve kissed him and walked back into the bedroom. Lucifer felt shock run through his system.

He heard the elevator ping and looked over to see Carlos getting off the elevator. Carlos asked, "Is this a bad time? Are you two about to…" "Yes!" Eve shouted from the bedroom. Lucifer sighed, looked at Carlos and said, "I think so, Carlos. Did you want to tell me something? Train a little? What?" Carlos looked at Lucifer and noticed that he was in a bit of a sour mood and said, "Geez. Calm down. I just wanted to see if you were free. But I guess you don't. Oh well." Then Carlos thought of something that might work, "Since you're busy, I'll just go off and see Linda." Lucifer looked at Carlos and said, "Linda?" Carlos nodded, "Yea. You said I could go see her if I needed someone to talk to and get my feelings checked out. So, I'm going to see her. Bye. You do what you want to do." Carlos got back into the elevator and Lucifer watched the door close.

In the elevator, Carlos smiled and said, "Let's see if he'll take my suggestion. After all, I may have used my persuasion a little bit at the end of our conversation. He did seem like he needed to get something checked out. It is interesting that my powers does have some effect on him."

Carlos drove over on his vespa to Linda's office and knocked on her door. "Come in," Linda's voice called out. Carlos opened the door and Linda said, "Hello, Carlos. What brings you here today?" "Well," Carlos said sitting down on the couch. "I wanted to take up the offer for sessions with you. If that's OK." Linda nodded and Carlos said, "I would ask how you are doing, but you said that you wanted to keep up the professionalism." "Good memory," Linda said. "But I'm fine, thank you for asking. Baby is doing OK. It's going to be a boy." "Congrats," Carlos said.

Linda smiled and said, "So, what did you want to talk about?" Carlos sighed, "Well, Lucifer has a new house guest. Her name is Eve." "The Eve?" Linda asked. Carlos nodded and said, "She apparently came down to Earth to have some fun and to reunite with Lucifer. They used to be an item back in the day, I guess. She's been staying at Lux for a few days, a little over a week. And most of Lucifer's time is being spent with her. He's only been spending a few moments here and there with me. And I know that's because of Eve." Linda hummed, "Do you think that Eve is purposefully keeping Lucifer away from you?" Carlos nodded, "She is. She told me herself that he's hers. She's treating this like a competition with me and Lucifer's the prize. But our relationships with him are totally different. Ours is more like mentor/mentee and there's is…yea." Linda nodded, "And have you told Lucifer about how you feel?" Carlos shook his head, "No. He was in a rough place after Chloe. I know he still cares deeply for Chloe, but Eve has got his attention at the moment. He seems to break out of that when he spends time with me. So much to the point, that hopefully he took my suggestion as I left Lux to come here." "And what suggestion was that?" Linda asked. Carlos heard a door outside slam open and Carlos smirked, "To come see you. He did look sour about something."

Suddenly the door to Linda's office opened and in walked Lucifer. "I'm sorry, Linda, Carlos," Lucifer said. "But I need to talk to you, Linda, about something." Carlos looked up at Lucifer and said, "I knew you would take it." Lucifer looked down at Carlos and realized, "You used your persuasion to convince me to come here, didn't you?" Carlos smirked, "You looked sour about something. So I just mentioned that I was going to see Linda and said that you do what you want to do. And it seems that you wanted to speak to Linda more than having fun times with Eve. Am I right?" Lucifer muttered, "Clever, clever." and sat down next to Carlos. Linda looked over at Carlos and asked, "Do you mind this, Carlos?" Carlos shook his head, "It's OK. I can wait."

Lucifer nodded his thanks and said, "You see, Linda, something's happened with Eve…" "I know," Linda said. "Carlos told me all about Eve. What seems to be the problem?" Lucifer looked over at Carlos, who shrugged, and Lucifer looked back at Linda and said, "So we've been going at it for the past few days. But then she mentioned the word boyfriend to me. And I just couldn't continue. Usually I'm a ten times a day man, doctor. Big Ben strikes ten, as they say. I'm Big Ben." "Yeah," Linda interrupted. "I got that. Carlos, are you sure you don't want to step out? You don't need to listen about…private matters." Carlos chuckled, "Oh please. I know how often those two have been going at it. Sorry, Lucifer, the walls and floors are thinner than you think. Plus, where I grew up, I listened to worse things. Trust me."

Linda sighed, turned back to Lucifer, and asked, "Is it possible that the word boyfriend is what stopped the clock?" Lucifer sighed, "Well, I suppose that was a rather serious word to drop into an otherwise fun time, yes." "Ouch," Carlos muttered. Lucifer looked over at Carlos and said, "Surely the first time you heard the term boyfriend got you cross wired." Carlos chuckled, "Actually, I was more nervous just asking my girlfriend out. I wanted to be her boyfriend. I just maned up and asked her and we became an item. Simple as that." Carlos sighed dreamily thinking about Jane, as Linda cleared her throat and asked Lucifer, "But is fun all this is? She's been staying with you for over a week, as Carlos told me. Maybe this is serious." "I'm simply helping out a friend, doctor," Lucifer argued. "She's just arrived on Earth. Where else can she stay?" "At that hotel you were going to place her in," Carlos muttered. Lucifer looked over and glared at Carlos as he continued, "Plus, I took you in, Carlos, under my wing so to speak." "Of which I am grateful," Carlos said. "But I wasn't the one who stole all of your time away, now did I?" Lucifer was about to argue back, but realized that Carlos did have a point.

"Right," Linda commented. "The Eve, from the Garden of Eden. I mean, I am carrying an angel baby. I guess this is just a normal Tuesday for me now." "Doctor," Lucifer said. "I don't know what to do." "Man up," Carlos muttered, earning another eye glare from Lucifer. Lucifer turned back to Linda and said, "Eve is amazing, she's beautiful, she's very funny on text." "And she knows you and accepts you," Linda commented. "Exactly," Lucifer replied. Before Lucifer could say anything else, Linda asked, "Does Carlos know you and accept you?" Carlos answered, "I do. I've seen his real face, I know what kind of person he is, and I accept him. Flaws and all." Lucifer looked over at Carlos and asked, "When did you…" "See your real face?" Carlos finished. "Before your first big makeup session with Eve at Lux after the necklace incident. It didn't frighten me. It's a part of you. And I accept it." Lucifer suddenly felt compassion for the boy, but disguised it with a cough. Carlos knew though and smiled.

Lucifer looked back at Linda and said, "Anyway, Eve should know that I'm not a serious relationship kind of devil." Carlos frowned a little at that comment, which Linda noticed and said, "At a romantic relationship? Or any kind of relationship?" "Romantic, obviously," Lucifer answered, which made Carlos smile again, which again Linda noticed. "And yet you were willing to try with Chloe." Lucifer frowned, "Well, we saw how that turned out, didn't we?" Linda sighed, "Sometimes, when someone has real feelings for someone, and it doesn't work out, they shut down to anything new until they can deal with those leftover feelings. OK, you didn't know that your last case was your actual last case. Are you sure that you got proper closure with Chloe?" Lucifer sighed, realizing that Linda was right.

A little while later after Lucifer left, Linda turned to Carlos and asked, "You want more than a mentor/mentee relationship with Lucifer, don't you?" Carlos looked at Linda and said, "I was that obvious, huh?" Linda nodded, "More like a parent/child relationship?" Carlos thought for a moment, then nodded, "Yea. I do." "Do you not have a good parental relationship with your parents?" Linda asked. Carlos shook his head and said, "It was just my mom. My dad…..he doesn't know that I exist as his son. My mom….she wasn't the best mom in the world…..Linda, I know you want to hear about this, but maybe can we have this session another time? I'm not ready to talk about my mom." Linda nodded and said, "Of course. My door is always open. But just know that maybe you need some closure as well when it comes to your mom."

Over in a LA neighborhood, Chloe was with the police at another crime scene. She walked up the driveway of the home of the victim and saw a classic car in the driveway, "Wow." Ella was looking over the victim, looked up and said, "I know. Sweet wheels, right? A Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. You do not see too many of these babies. Guy had his own home car wash equipment for it. Victim's name is Derek Lee. He still had his car keys, phone, and wallet on him, and the house hasn't been touched, so this was definitely not a robbery. Cause of death was this, the power washer from the car washing equipment. The killer jammed this in his throat and went full blast. He literally drowned. "So we can assume it's personal," Chloe commented. "Yeah," Ella agreed. "I mean, personal lives can get pretty sticky. Have you, uh, talked to Lucifer?" "Oh," Chloe replied. "I went to his place and some woman was over there. I didn't want to interrupt. But it's not a big deal. You know, just giving him some time." Ella nodded, "It's been a week. That's a lot of time. But that's a good thing. You know, he's getting it out of his system. But seriously, Chloe, if you miss him, you should go talk to him." "Sure," Chloe replied. "When the time is right. Right now, let's focus on the case. Any witnesses?" "Yea," Ella said pointing to a man and a woman. "Those two heard arguing."

Chloe walked over to the man and woman in question and started the interview. The man said, "II was halfway up the block when I heard a guy yelling, "How much for the car?" You know, something like that. I don't know." The woman then said, "He was asking how much was the car. I heard it all from my window." "And you live next door?" Chloe asked the woman. "Did you see anything?" "No," the woman answered. "But I told him parking that car in the driveway was just asking for trouble. He should have listened to me." "Thank you," Chloe said as Dan came up, other police officers leading the man and woman away.

Dan walked up to Chloe and Chloe said, "So apparently the killer was asking about the value of the car. So why not just take it?" Dan answered, "I think I've got an answer for that. Derek was a collector of vintage cars. Looks like he just won a big one at a private auction. Check out these. Messages he was receiving from the guy he outbid." Chloe read, "I'm killing you. Before you pick up that car, you'll be dead." She looked up at Dan and asked, "Great, do we know who he is?" Dan shook his head, "The messages are anonymous, but according to this, Derek was supposed to get possession of the car this afternoon at some collectors' event called Malibu Motor Enthusiasts."

Ella walked over and asked, "Did you just say the MME?" Chloe and Dan nodded as Ella said, "No way. They are uber exclusive. Even I can't get in there, and I know my cars. Plus, they're just shady and gray market enough that if you show up to serve a warrant, they will literally stall you at the door while everyone scatters." "So then how do you get in?" Dan asked. Ella sighed, "Well, the only way is to show up with your own set of vintage wheels. That's how they know you're in the club." "OK," Dan replied. "I can see if we have any vintage cars in our impound." Dan was about to walk off, but Chloe stopped him, "Wait, I know someone who can help." Ella knew who Chloe was referring to, "Oh, yeah? Guess the time is finally right, huh, Decker?"

Chloe drove over to Lux and walked in, seeing Carlos play quietly on the piano. Chloe walked over to him and said, "Hi, Carlos." Carlos stopped playing and looked up, "Hey, Chloe. Are you hear to see Lucifer?" Chloe nodded, "Is in up in his penthouse?" Carlos nodded and said, "Yea, he is. Just be careful of what you might see." Chloe nodded and walked over to the elevator as Carlos returned to playing the piano quietly. He was thinking about what Linda told him. About wanting a parental relationship with Lucifer, and talking about his mother. He shuttered at the thought of his mother, Cruella De Vil. He could hear her voice in his head taunting him. He shook his head as he kept playing.

"Hey, kid." Carlos looked up and saw Maze standing there. "Hi, Maze," Carlos greeted. "What's up?" Maze walked down to him and said, "I was just in the neighborhood, looking for my next bounty. I heard you playing in here, so I decided to check up on you. We never did have that training session, now did we?" Carlos chuckled and said, "No we didn't." Maze smiled, "Now I know that Lucifer has taught you some things. Why don't you show me what you've learned so far? Besides, I need to warm up before I go catch my bounty." Carlos stood up and said, "OK. I need to get some energy out anyway. Come at me, demon." Maze smiled and charged in on Carlos.

Up in the penthouse, Lucifer was standing next to his piano when he heard, "You handsome Devil." He looked over and saw Eve wearing only his shirt and brushing her teeth with his toothbrush. Lucifer asked, "Is that my toothbrush?" Eve walked over to him and asked, "You're worried about my toothbrush being in my mouth? Though I was thinking that Ii should pick up some toiletries. There's plenty of room inn the medicine cabinet." "There is?" Lucifer asked as Eve unbuttoned his shirt and kissed him. Eve smiled, "I'm going to take a shower. Meet me in there?" Eve walked to the bathroom as Lucifer said, "Finally, a good idea. Here comes Big Ben again."

He just pulled down his pants right as Chloe walked in. He heard her gasp and quickly pulled on his pants and said, "Detective. To what do I owe this ill-timed interruption?" Chloe sighed, "Lucifer, look, I know things have been really awkward between us, but I want to fix that. And I could use your help on the case I'm working. Besides, you and I have such a good closure rate when we work together." Lucifer said, "Detective, I'm sorry, but…..Hold on. Did you say closure?" "Yes," Chloe answered. "Why?"

They heard Eve's voice shout from the shower, "Lucifer! Are you coming?" Chloe said, "Oh. You're not here alone." "Well," Lucifer explained. "I have a guest, if that's what you're asking." "Yes," Chloe said, looking around. "Oh, yes. It looks like you've had a few guests. Fun. Carlos was right to warn me before I came up here. Um, OK. Well, this was a bad idea. It's OK. Sorry to bother you." Chloe walked to the elevator, but Lucifer stopped her, "Detective, wait. I'll come with you." "Really?" Chloe asked. Lucifer nodded, "Yes. I think that closing this case might be just what the doctor ordered."

Downstairs, Carlos and Maze continued their fight, Carlos was dodging a lot of Maze's moves as Maze came at him with the knives. He managed to throw her towards the other end of the floor, but Maze got him with her knife on his hand, causing it to bleed. Carlos saw the blood and was surprised. Maze stood up and said, "Nice throw kid. You've got some moves. Wait, you OK?" Carlos nodded, "Yea. Just surprised your knife got me. I guess I'm still vulnerable to sharp objects but fire, I'm fine with." Maze tilted her head and said, "OK. Well, my knives are demon made, so they can make anyone bleed, even Lucifer. I had to use them to cut off his wings, before they grew back years later." She noticed Carlos staring at the cut and said, "Seriously. Are you OK?" Carlos quickly nodded and said, "Yea. I'm fine. This isn't the first time I've bled thanks to a sharp object. No, this is the latest of a long line." Maze felt that there was more to that statement than he was letting on, as she looked down at his leg and noticed a scar on it near his ankle. She cleared her throat and said, "OK. If you say you're good, fine. Good fight. Well, I'm off then. Bye kid."

She left the club just as Lucifer and Chloe arrived on the main floor. Carlos grabbed a towel from the bar and held it to his hand as Lucifer and Chloe exited the elevator. Lucifer noticed Carlos and said, "Hello there. Chloe and I are off on a last case." Chloe noticed some blood dripping from Carlos' hand underneath the towel and asked, "Are you OK? You're bleeding." Carlos looked down and said, "I'm OK. Just a little training fight with Maze while you went up to talk to Lucifer. She got me with one of her knives and I'm just cleaning up the wound." "One of her demon knives I imagine," Lucifer commented. Chloe walked over and said, "Here I can help…" She put her hand on Carlos' but Carlos flinched away saying, "Stay away! I'm fine. Don't touch me." Lucifer was puzzled by Carlos' actions. But Chloe noticed a look in Carlos' eyes that she's seen in cases about abused children. She knew that this was triggering Carlos somehow. So she said, "OK, I'll stay over here while you take care of that. Afterwards, Carlos, why don't you come with us?" Lucifer turned his head to Chloe as Carlos lifted his head up. "Really?" Carlos asked. "I thought you were wary of me." Chloe shook her head, "No. You have been nothing but honest and you've helped out with cases in the past. Lucifer is helping me with this one and you can too. Come on." Carlos smiled and Lucifer said, "Sounds like a plan indeed."

Lucifer got one of his other cars, a classic red car, and drove Chloe and Carlos to the MME. They all got out and Lucifer handed the keys to an attendant and told him, "Return it with so much as a scratch and I'll see you in Hell." Chloe turned to him and asked, "Couldn't you have just brought the Corvette?" "Please, Detective," Lucifer responded. "Corvettes are a dime a dozen. Besides, I want this case to be special." "At least it wasn't my mom's car," Carlos muttered, thinking of her Panther De Ville that she loved just as much as her fur coats."

The trio walked inside as Chloe said, "Well, it's pretty straightforward. We couldn't trace the threatening text sent to our victim. But if the killer murdered Derek just to win the auction, well…" Lucifer then smelled Chloe, causing her to say, "What?" Lucifer said, "No, don't let me put you off. I'm just stopping to smell the Detective droning on about the case in total command of all the boring details. It is very nostalgic." Carlos chuckled as Chloe said, "OK. So the car that Derek won was a Tucker 48. If we find the car, then whoever it's being handed off to may be our killer." "Is that the guy?" Carlos asked, pointing to a guy being handed the keys of a Tucker 48 and having his picture taken. "Well done, Carlos," Lucifer praised. "That is indeed the car. And I suppose that poor pencil necked soul is our killer."

Lucifer then started to push his way through the crowd that gathered and shouted, "That man is wanted by the police." The man in question, named Kevin, started to run as Lucifer chuckled, "Well, we can't miss the part of the case where we chase the suspect. Or you chase and I watch, I mean." "Or Carlos could help," Chloe said, looking at Carlos with a pleading look. Carlos nodded and shouted, "You there! Freeze!" The man stopped right in his tracks and Chloe ran over and cuffed him. Lucifer said, "Well done again, Carlos. And I didn't have to chase him. He hit the brakes." Chloe looked at him with a "Really?" look. Lucifer sighed, "Come on, I thought that was one of my better puns. More than worthy of our final case." "Wait, what?" Chloe asked. "Well," Lucifer explained. "I'm just trying to appreciate every moment of the last time we're working together. One finial case to get closure on the whole thing." Carlos sighed, "That's what you got out of Linda's session?" Chloe cleared her throat, "OK. Can we talk about this another time?"

Carlos walked over and hoisted Kevin up as Kevin asked, "What happened? How did you make me stop?" "Trade secret," Carlos said. "Do you what to question him, Chloe?" Chloe nodded and said, "Were you aware that you only got this car because the man who actually won was killed?" "Derek's dead?" The man asked. "And you killed him," Lucifer said. "Please," the man pleaded. "You have to listen to me. I hated Derek, but I would never kill anyone, I swear." "Detective, please," Lucifer said before Chloe could ask another question. "One last time for posterity." Chloe sighed, "Go ahead." Carlos chuckled as Lucifer looked into Kevin's eyes and asked, "So, Kev, tell me, what is it that you truly desire? Power? Wealth? Better dress sense?" Kevin looked into Lucifer's eyes and answered, "To tell the truth so I don't go to jail for murder."

"What?" Chloe asked. "If that's the case, then why did you run?" Kevin answered, "'Cause I thought you were here about the kit cars." "Kit cars?" Lucifer asked. "You mean those awful replicas that only look vintage? Those don't fool anybody with taste." "True," Kevin responded. "But you can make a ton of money selling them to goobers who can't tell the difference. It's not like it's illegal." "Sounds illegal," Carlos commented. Kevin sighed, "It is illegal, but it's not murder." "Listen," Chloe stopped him. "We saw the messages. You said that you wanted to kill him before he could collect on this auction." "Kill his reputation," Kevin clarified. "I was going to tell everyone I sold him a couple of kits. Your rep his all you have in our world." "Yes," Lucifer said. "What a tragedy to lose the respect of these people." Kevin sighed, "Look, he was killed this morning, right? I was selling a kit Porsche 550 to a guy up in Fresno. I just flew back two hours ago." "Alright," Chloe said. "We'll check that out. But unless you have any other information, then…"

"Wait," Kevin interrupted. "You should check out this guy Derek's been hanging out with. Scary dude, shaved head. Tattoos." "Do you have the scary dude's name?" Chloe asked. "I never saw him myself," Kevin revealed. "But I saw his car. He has an awful '92 Geo Metro in Polynesian green." Another officer came and took Kevin away as Lucifer's phone started to buzz. He saw it was Eve trying to call and Lucifer hit the end button, Carlos noticing and smirking to himself. Chloe also noticed and said, "Oh! Ah, the girl from the jewelry auction. You're still hanging out with her?" "Yes, she is," Carlos answered for Lucifer. "She's been staying at Lux for a week." "Anyway," Lucifer interrupted. "Why don't we go and catch this scary dude? He sounds like a worthy final killer." Chloe nodded and Carlos said, "I'm in."

Over at Lux, Amenadiel went up to the penthouse with a box looking for Lucifer, "Lucy, are you here? Listen, we got your baby gift, but, yeah, I don't think these are teething rings." Eve, who was lying on the couch, shot up and said, "Amenadiel? Hey. Your brother's out." Amenadiel looked at her and said, "Eve. What are you doing here? Did you hurt Lucifer?" Eve giggled, "Only when he asked me nicely. Why?" Amenadiel responded, "Because he killed Cain, Eve. Your son."

Eve sighed, "You know, I met Charlotte Richards on my way out of heaven. She was lovely. Same as my sweet and gentle Abel. Pretty sure he had what was coming to him." "Then why would you leave the Silver City?" Amenadiel asked. "Look who's talking," Eve said, standing up and walking over to Amenadiel. "You're the one who couldn't wait to tell everybody up there how all of God's children create their own fate. How we decide where to belong." Amenadiel scoffed, "That was different, Eve. I'm an angel. You're mortal." "Yes," Eve agreed. "I'm mortal. Created directly by the hand of God. Hence being able to slip right into my old bones." "Yes," Amenadiel said. "You were able to come back down here to Earth, Eve, but did you not even consider that, after rejecting heaven, you may not be allowed back in?" "Why would I want to go back to that boring place?" Eve asked. "I'm having the time of my life down here with Lucifer." "And what happens when that comes to an end?" Amenadiel asked. "Well," Eve answered. "If I get sent to Hell, then me and Lucifer can keep the party going down there." Amenadiel was shocked by what he was hearing as Eve poured herself a drink.

Meanwhile, Lucifer took Chloe and Carlos to LAPD and he gathered all the officers there and said, "I've gotten to know all of you in my time here, which is what makes this, my final case, so difficult. Dougie in the motor pool, who helped put a siren on my car. Thank you for that. Cucuzza in evidence, who always let see inspect the cocaine seizures first. And you. Nameless uni, I think I'll miss you most of all. So anyway, as a parting gift for everyone, I've hired a Carl's Jr. truck out in the parking lot. Free burgers for you all. Go on! Knock yourselves out." The officers clapped and cheered for Lucifer.

Chloe was hiding out in the lab with Ella and Carlos was there as well, chuckling at his dad's antics. "He's not really going to leave us, is he?" Ella asked. "No," Chloe said. "Remember when Lucifer disappeared and he came back married? I mean, this is how he works through his issues. Soon enough, everything will be back to normal, I'm sure. Right, Carlos?" Carlos shrugged, "Look, I've only known the guy for a few weeks, but he seems pretty determined." "No, Chloe's right," Ella argued. "He's going to burn out on all these new ladies soon enough." "It's just one lady," Chloe said. "What?" Ella asked, shocked. "Her name is Eve," Carlos said. "Wait, what?" Ella asked. "Are you serious?" Carlos nodded, "Yea. Trust me, the walls are thin." "I'm not worried," Chloe said, making Carlos shake his head. "I am not worried at all. There is no way she knows the real Lucifer like I do." "Don't be so sure," Carlos muttered.

Lucifer entered the lab and said, "Ladies. And Carlos." "Hi," Chloe replied. "Any news on our scary dude?" Lucifer asked. Chloe nodded, "Yes, so these 16 individuals drive Geo Metros win the Tri-County area." Lucifer looked at all of the pictures and pointed to one, "Oh. Mike Tyson here, very scary looking." Carlos looked at the pictures and pointed to one, asking, "What about that guy in the jailhouse tats?" Ella typed some things into the computer and said, "That is Sid Kluge. Well, Carlos, I think you hit the jackpot. Rap sheet full of B&Es and aggravated assaults." "And the address, right off of Venice Boulevard," Chloe added. "Near that dispensary that you love, Lucifer." "Oh, Detective," Lucifer said. "You know me so well. I really will miss this once the case is over." Lucifer smiled and walked away. Ella whispered, "Over?" Chloe shook her head and muttered, "Fine." Carlos chuckled and muttered, "These two. Idiots, I'm telling you."

Out in the lobby, Maze came in with her bounty she found and Dan saw her, "Yo. Is that Drill-bit Bueller?" Maze nodded as Dan continued, "You know, he and his brother Sean are two of the most feared guys in the streets." "Yeah," Maze said. "Well, now they fear me. Hey, I was going after his brother next and I was thinking maybe you can jump in on the fun?" Dan sighed, "Look, Maze, that whole thing with Los Xs, that was just a means to an end. I mean, it's not like I get my kicks by beating the hell out of people." "Wow," Maze said. "Now that's a poor excuse. It's a shame that Carlos has a better excuse than you and he still does what he does. Well, let me know next time there's a means to an end, Dan."

Lucifer, Chloe, and Carlos drove over to Sid Kluge's house and Chloe said while exiting her car, "So I was thinking, this doesn't have to be our last case." "Oh, no, no," Lucifer replied. "This is for the best, I think. There's no sense in dragging it out. One last case should be enough." "Enough for what?" Chloe asked. "For closure of course," Lucifer answered, making Carlos shake his head. "What does that mean?" Chloe asked. "I'm not sure," Lucifer answered honestly. "But the doctor told me I needed it." Carlos muttered, "Taking it wrong." Chloe stopped Lucifer, "Lucifer, if you ever need to talk about anything…" "I don't believe this," Lucifer interrupted pointing over Chloe's shoulder. "That geek was right about the car. It's the most hideous thing I've ever seen. Still, at least we know our killer's here."

Carlos was about to berate Lucifer, but noticed some blood on the ground and said, "Ah, Lucifer. You might want to rethink that. Look." Chloe saw the blood as well and pulled out her gun. The trio followed the drops of blood and found Sid dead on the ground. Lucifer groaned, "Well, it looks like this case might drag out a little longer than I thought."

The three of them found themselves back at LAPD after backup arrived to look over the crime scene and they were looking over pictures of both crimes. "Huh," Chloe said. "No way it's a coincidence that our number one suspect in Derek's murder turns up dead hours later. There has to be a connection." Lucifer looked up at Chloe and said, "I really had forgotten how much fun this is. You solving puzzles, me trying to distract you, waiting to come up with the big insight…." Ella came storming in shouting, "Found it." "That was fast," Carlos commented. Ella smiled, "Not only found it, I think I solved it." She threw down a picture and said, "There's Derek, Sid. And you recognize that third guy?" "Yea," Chloe said. "One of the witnesses we talked to." "Yeah," Ella replied. "Marco Franklin. All three of them served in the Explosives Ordnance division in Iraq. But wait, there's more. Marco was released from prison just two days ago after serving a nine year sentence for bank robbery. He bombed his way into the vault, got caught coming out and, drum roll, it is suspected he had two other accomplices, never apprehended." Chloe deduced, "So Sid and Derek were his partners. He gets caught, they don't. Maybe they double-crossed him. So now he's out…" "Looking for closure," Lucifer finished. "This is why I don't trust people," Carlos added. "Yeah," Ella continued, "Call it whatever you want. I call it solved!"

"That's a great theory," Chloe said. "But, right now, that's all it is. We have no proof, so the killer could be anyone." "Agreed," Lucifer said. "This doesn't really feel like closure to me. There must be more." Ella continued, "Witnesses saw a man matching Marco's description attacking Sid in front of his apartment." "Circumstantial," Chloe said. "Agreed," Lucifer added. "Seriously," Carlos muttered. "Idiots." Ella laughed, "Decker, you are putting me through the wringer. Respect. But I got you beat. The striations on the shell casings found at the scene match Marco's 9mm. I made sure all the bases were covered for you. Boom!" "We still have to pick him up," Chloe replied. "Yes," Lucifer agreed. "Until the suspect's in custody the case isn't truly closed, is it?" "Way ahead of you," Ella said. "Oh, for crying out loud," Lucifer moaned making Carlos chuckle. Ella continued, "Dan helped me with the records. He's on his way to Marco's address now, with some units. Nothing left for us to do now, folks, but get our party on. What are you guys thinking? I feel like dancing. I'm going to go change." Ella then ran out of the lab.

Chloe looked at Lucifer and said, "Lucifer, we can still…" "No, Detective," Lucifer interrupted. "I think this is best for me and for everyone." "What about Carlos?" Chloe asked. "Woah," Carlos said. "Please do not bring me into this." Lucifer said, "Listen, I just want to say, great last case. Great partnership." He held his hand and Chloe reluctantly shook it. Lucifer nodded and walked out of the lab.

Carlos turned to Chloe and said, "Hey. Why don't you stop by Lux later? I think you two need one last night partying session together. Or maybe you can convince him that your partnership shouldn't end." "You really think that?" Chloe asked. Carlos nodded and said, "He's not listening to his heart right now. Maybe you can help him realize that. I think you make him better. Compared to Eve anyway. Plus, I don't trust Eve at all. And I want her gone." "Why?" Chloe asked. "Listen," Carlos said. "I may see that you and Lucifer are meant for one another, but you have to earn my trust, like how you need to earn his back. Maybe one day, I can tell you everything you want to know. But today is not one of those days. But I will say thanks for letting me tag along on this case." "Well," Chloe said. "You looked like you needed it. I know a child who's been abused when I see one." Carlos' eyes went wide and asked, "How did you know?" "Your reaction to the cut on your hand and your reaction to when I touched you," Chloe said. "You had a look in your eyes that I've seen before in abused children cases. Like you said, you don't trust me enough to talk about yourself. But like I told Lucifer, if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here." Carlos smiled, "Well, I may have Linda for that now, but I will keep that in mind. Thanks."

Later at Lux, Ella had already changed into a clubbing dress and was hitting it up. Carlos was playing piano on the main floor and the crowd was loving it. Ella was impressed by Carlos' skills and was dancing along with his music. She danced her way up to the bar to get another drink. She heard a female bartender say, "Here you go, Eve." She remembered that this was the woman who took Lucifer away from Chloe and she turned and saw Eve say, "Oh, thank you!" Ella faced Eve and asked, "You're Eve?" Eve took a sip of her drink and responded, "Yeah. Do we know each other?" Ella sneered, "I'm Ella Lopez and you need to…." "You're Ella?" Eve interrupted. She shocked Ella by hugging her. "Oh, my God," Eve said. "Oh how dare you use hugs against me?" Ella muttered.

Eve pulled back and said, "Wow, you're even prettier in real life. I've been dying to meet you since Lucifer told me how amazing you are." "He said that?" Ella asked. "Oh, yeah," Eve replied. "I saw you on the dance floor. You've got moves!" "Well, Carlos is bringing it tonight with his music," Ella replied, making Ella scowl a little at the mention of Carlos. But Ella continued, "I've got to say, I saw you out there, girlfriend. You've got some sick moves yourself." Eve smiled again saying, "Really? Well, I know some moves. Oh, my God, I was doing the robot. I just learned that this morning." Ella sighed, "You're pretty cool." "We're both pretty cool," Eve countered. She put her hand up for a high five and Ella reluctantly gave her a high five. Eve giggled, "Hey, a friend just gave me some candy. Do you want some?" She held out her hand and Ella noticed, "That's not candy. OK? That's Molly." "Molly?" Eve asked. "That sounds fun." Ella shrugged and said, "Yes. Yes it does."

Up at Lucifer's penthouse, Lucifer was stopping up when he saw Amenadiel sitting on the couch. "Brother," Lucifer greeted. "How's it going with the teenage mutant ninja angel baby?" Amenadiel looked up and asked, "Why didn't you tell me that Eve was here, Lucy?" Lucifer scoffed, "Oh, please. "I'm not going to get you every time someone stays the night. Think of my data plan." "This isn't just some fling, Lucifer," Amenadiel replied standing up and walking over to Lucifer. "This is Eve." "Yes," Lucifer said. "I know what her name is." Amenadiel sighed, "I really don't think that you understand the dangers of having Eve back here." Lucifer replied. "If you're worried about what happened last time, don't be. I'm not going to corrupt her. Besides, I don't know how I could. She's pretty much up for anything these days." Lucifer grabbed his drink and sat down on the couch.

Amenadiel turned and said, "Oh, it's not Eve that I'm worried about. It's you." "Me?" Lucifer asked. Amenadiel nodded, "She came here for the old you, the one she remembers from thee garden. The one who sowed chaos and destruction for his own amusement." "Now you're making me nostalgic," Lucifer commented. Amenadiel continued, "You see, that's exactly what I'm talking about, Lucy. I don't want her to turn you back into the devil that you were." "Oh, don't you now?" Lucifer replied. "To be honest, I don't even know if I want to be with her or not. I was supposed to have clarity on that after finishing this case, but I still don't know what I bloody want." Amenadiel looked down at Lucifer and asked, "Well, what about Carlos? You took him into your care to help him. Do you want to be your old self around him? A child?" Lucifer thought for a moment, then said, "He is a mystery. Yes I have some care for the boy, but I don't fully trust him yet. Just today he went from happy cheery to a panicked boy afraid of being touched. I feel he's hiding something that I should know about. But again, I don't know what I want."

Chloe arrived at the club and wandered to the dance floor. She saw Carlos playing along with the stereo music. She did admit to herself that she was impressed. When she saw Carlos finish up with a song, she walked over and greeted, "Hey, Carlos." Carlos looked up and said, "Hey, Chloe. Glad to see you here." Chloe looked around and said, "You've got the club fired up, I see." Carlos chuckled, "Yeah. I guess they like my music." Chloe looked back down at Carlos and said, "Well, you are a talented kid. Very special one at that." Carlos blushed a little and Chloe whispered, "You deserve to hear that." Carlos nodded his thanks.

Chloe looked around and asked, "Have you seen Lucifer? Or Ella for that matter?" Carlos answered, "Lucifer went up to get something. And Ella…" He looked over and saw Ella almost passed out on a chair and Carlos got up and ran over to her, "Ella? Are you OK?" Ella was passed out and Carlos felt her pulse, "She's OK. I think she was given something. Can you wait here with her? I have something upstairs that might help her." Chloe nodded and said, "Oh, if you run into Lucifer, can you tell him that I'm also here to see him? There's an update on the case." Carlos nodded and ran off to the elevator and Lucifer stepped out and asked, "Carlos, what's the rush?" "Oh," Carlos said. "I have to grab something to help Ella. Chloe's with her. She wanted to see you." "Really?" Lucifer asked. "Ok then. Also, why don't you check on the security systems while you're up there?" Carlos nodded and got on the elevator.

Lucifer walked out to the dance floor and saw Chloe, "Detective? What are you doing here?" Chloe turned around and said, "Oh, Carlos invited me to hear him play for a bit. Also, we still have a case." Lucifer smiled at the fact that Chloe cared for Carlos, but then said, "We do?" Chloe nodded, "Marco's place was cleared out, so he's still out there." Lucifer replied, "That must explain my lack of closure. Right. Wait here. I'll grab my jacket." "Sure," Chloe said. "Carlos is coming right back to give Ella something for…whatever is going on with her."

As Lucifer walked away, Ella suddenly sat up and said, "Oh, my God, Chloe! You cam out to celebrate." "For a little bit," Chloe said. "To hear Carlos play. But I'm still working." Ella started rubbing her face on Chloe's jacket, "This jacket is so fuzzy and amazing. It must be like being hugged by a muppet. Oh, my God. I've got someone you have to meet." She stood up and ran over and pulled Eve over, "This is Eve." "Yes," Chloe acknowledged. "We have met." "She gave me drugs," Ella revealed. "I gathered," Chloe said. "Carlos ran up to get you something to come down from your high." Eve scowled for a moment while Ella laughed, "Ah, that kid. Always thinking about others. Sweet. Well, while I'm waiting, I need orange juice."

Ella walked to the bar as Eve said, "Oh, my God. Isn't she amazing? I can see why Lucifer loves working with you guys so much." "Oh, that's nice," Chloe commented. "Want my last Molly?" Eve asked. "I was going to take it, but you look like someone who could use it more than I do." "No, thanks," Chloe said. "And please don't give it to Ella. Carlos ran up to get her something to bring here back to reality." Eve scowled again which Chloe caught, "Do you have a problem with Carlos?" "Unfortunately," Eve said. "He's just a kid who will never get what's mine. Dumb kid, really." Chloe retorted, "That kid has been through more than you and I will ever know. And I can see why he can't trust people like you. Seriously, who are you?" "Oh, I'm Eve," Eve replied, ignoring what Chloe said about Carlos. "OK," Chloe said. "Well, that doesn't help. Who…Wait. Do you mean as in Eve Eve, as in Adam and Eve?" Eve groaned, "I can't believe they still put his name first. These are supposed to be more progressive times." "Wait," Chloe realized. "You and Lucifer were together. So you know him. You know who he really is."

"Good to go, Detective," Lucifer appeared behind Chloe. Eve smiled and went up Lucifer and hugged him, causing Lucifer to say, "Note to self, next time, just leave without the jacket." Chloe stared at the two and said, "This is your ex-girlfriend, from the beginning of time." "Pretty much," Lucifer acknowledged.

Suddenly a man's voice shouted, "Detective Decker!" Everyone turned to see Marco standing on the stairs with a gun in his hand shouting, "Everybody, be cool!" Chloe reached for her gun, but Marco said, "Don't try. Detective Decker, I need you to listen to me carefully." Lucifer stepped up and said, "Much as I appreciate the well-timed interruption, you can't just walk into my club, and how did you get past my security…." Marco then shot Lucifer in the abdomen. Lucifer fell to the ground, Chloe and Eve right at his side.

Up in the guest suite, Carlos was searching through his stuff and said, "Where is it…Ah ha!" He pulled out a vial with purple liquid in it. "Mal's potion. I know she said this was for emergencies only, but I think a couple of drops would be OK." Suddenly his computer blared an alarm and Carlos ran over and pulled up the security cameras, "Someone broke through my system." He typed some things into the computer and saw Marco cutting through some wires outside and sneaking a black box into the club. He then saw Marco walk around with a gun and shoot Lucifer. Carlos' eyes glowed red as her said, "He will not get away with this."

Down at Lux, Chloe had Lucifer sit against the railing as Marco shouted, "Everybody, sit down! There's a bomb in this building, so if anyone thinks they're going to escape through the crowd, or if anyone tries to rush me….back up! Everyone will die. Detective Decker, give me your gun. Put it on the ground. And your phone. Now." Chloe dropped her gun and phone to the ground and said, "OK, OK, whatever you say. Whatever you say, but this man needs an ambulance right now. And I will stay but everybody here should go." "No!" Marco shouted, pointing the gun at her. "Shut up! Shut up, no. Nobody is leaving. You, bartender! Go around and collect people's phones. Now! Get up, let's go! Come on."

While Marco was distracted, Chloe knelt down to Lucifer and whispered, "Are you OK?" Lucifer whispered back, "A bit of a stomach ache, Detective." "He's the Devil though," Eve said. "He's going to be OK, right?" "Yeah," Chloe reassured. "He's going to be fine. We'll get help." "Carlos," Lucifer whispered. "He's not here. Is he OK?" Eve's face gave a slight frown and Chloe whispered, "No, he hasn't come back yet. He must be up in the guest level. I'm sure that he knows what happened. He will help. I'm sure of it."

Carlos saw the interaction through the mirror and said, "Glad to have some faith, Chloe. Don't worry, Dad. I'm going to save you. All of you. But first, I need to find this bomb." Carlos typed away on the computer and groaned, "Damn it! He must have put the bomb in a blind spot of the cameras. I guess I just have to use Evie's mirror." He grabbed the mirror and said, "Mirror, mirror, show me where the bomb is." The mirror showed him and Carlos saw that it was on an upper level of the club floor. "Now, show me the best way to get to it without being detected. I could persuade him to stand down, but I want this bomb gone first." The mirror showed him a route through the venting system and the elevator shaft. "Looks like I have to do some climbing." Carlos reached into his backpack and pulled out some rope. He put the potion inside the jacket he was wearing and went over to the elevator door. Using his strength, he forced it open and saw that the elevator was on the ground floor. "Good. The elevator is out of the way." Using the mirror as a GPS, he tied the rope off and started to climb down to the vent that would lead him to the bomb.

Back down at Lux, Chloe told Eve, "You stay here with him, OK?" Eve nodded as Chloe stood back up. Ella leaned into Eve and whispered, "I know I should be freaking out right now, but your hair is so shiny." Chloe turned to Marco and said, "Marco, we know you killed your former partners, but this is not going to help the situation. If you hurt me or anyone else here, it is only going to make things worse for you." Marco replied, "I don't want to hurt you, Detective. I need your help. When I went away, my wife changed her name and I can't find her now." "You did all of this to find your wife?" Chloe asked. "Look," Marco replied. "Shooting him was an accident, OK? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do it. And I know I broke through the security system here. I'm just trying to fix things." Lucifer chuckled from the ground, "Oh, don't worry about it, pal. You just give me the gun and I'll even things up. And if you think I'm mad…" He was about to mention Carlos, but Chloe turned and gave him a look to shut him up. Marco continued, "Look, when I went away to prison for robbing that bank, it ruined her. You know, she disappeared, and I understand. But I just want one chance to look her in the eye and tell her that…I just want to tell her that I'm sorry. I want you to find her now. And then I will think about letting everyone go." He handed Chloe his phone and Chloe called Dan.

Dan got off the phone after what Chloe told him. He looked up at the leader of SWAT and said, "You guys don't go in unless I say so. You got that?" The leader answered, "Perimeters are being set up. We'll sit tight for now." "Good," Dan replied. "Our people are in there. We're not going to take any risks." "Did you give the breach point?" the leader asked. "No," Dan revealed. "The gunman was listening, but he did ask for some food to be delivered, so I think I have an idea."

The SWAT leader left as Maze charged in saying, "I heard Lux is under siege. Well, what are we waiting for?" Dan sighed, "You can't just go in there swinging your knives around…" "That's exactly what I can do," Maze interrupted. "You know what?" Dan replied. "He has the entire place wired to blow. It's too risky." Maze sighed, "Fine. What's your plan?" Dan pulled up a file and said, "I'm looking for Leona. She's Marco's wife. Apparently, she changed her name a few years after he went inside, but there are no records of what she actually changed it to. It's like she vanished." "No public records," Maze noted as she looked through the file. "No social security number. No social media footprint. What is this? 2014?" "Yeah," Dan said. "Looks like it." Maze looked up and said, "In 2014, there was only one guy who wasn't in jail who could help someone disappear this cleanly." "So who is he?" Dan asked. "I don't know his name," Maze revealed. "But I can find out." "OK," Dan said. "I'll put together a warrant so we can trace it." "You want to get a warrant?" Maze asked. "Well, yeah," Dan replied. Maze retorted, "You're the guy who said the pends justify the means." "Legal means, Maze," Dan clarified. "You must think like one of us if you're going to have a shot…" "No!" Maze shouted. "You have to think like them. That is how I catch them, and that is how we'll get this guy. Please. There is a kid in Lux right now. A kid who needs our help. Along with Lucifer and Chloe."

Carlos got to the vent in the elevator shaft, "Finally. Mirror, how far is the bomb?" The mirror showed him and Carlos groaned, "A ways away. Great. No time to get claustrophobic. I can do this. For my dad. For everyone in that club right now." He climbed into the shaft and started to crawl to his destination.

Down in Lux, Chloe crawled over to Lucifer, "Lucifer, I'm so sorry I got you into this." Lucifer looked up to her with a pale face, "Nonsense. You need my Aston to get in and nobody drives it but me." Chloe shook her head, "I could have found another way. It's…" "No," Lucifer interrupted. "It's not your fault. I needed closure. I just didn't expect it to be quite so closed. And Carlos got some fun out of it Turned his frown upside down."

He coughed as Eve came running out from behind the bar, "This is all they had behind the bar. Is there anything else I can get him?" "We got to get him to the hospital," Chloe replied. "No," Lucifer said. "I'm fine, Detective. You just get see within an inch of that dullard and I'll tear his arms off like a Turkey leg. Thank you." Eve had handed him a drink. Chloe closed her eyes, "Focus, Decker. Focus. Lucifer's out of commission. Ella is too. Carlos is somewhere in this building, hopefully doing something to stop this. Eve?" "Yeah?" Eve asked. "Do you have any superpowers or anything?" Chloe asked. "No," Eve revealed. "I'm just me." "Right," Chloe said. "We've just got a kid doing who knows what. Maybe he's trying to get down here. Maybe trying to find the bomb." "We also have you," Eve said. "Listen to me. From what Lucifer's told me, you're the smartest, most capable, most resourceful person he's ever known. And like you said, Carlos could be anywhere. So come on, Detective, what's the plan?" "Ok," Chloe said. "Yeah, plan. But Carlos is doing something to help. We just have to do something on this end. Eve, you tend to Lucifer. Keep pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding. I'm going to find where he planted this bomb. And see if Carlos is nearby. And Ella, can you diffuse it?" "Sure," Ella said. "You guys, I read the file on the demolition charges Marco's unit built. Pff! Easy as pie." Chloe looked at Lucifer, "Lucifer, you have a job too. How do we sober up Ella?" "Hold this," Lucifer handed Chloe his drink. He pulled out cocaine and said, "Not sober, but how about focused? It's the best way to lose your roll, Detective." Chloe sighed, but nodded.

Over at a office space, Maze strolled in to find young people working on their laptops, "Shared office workspace. Even I find this a bit cruel, torture wise. Still, great place to hide if you're selling fake IDs on the dark web." She walked over to a girl's desk, who said, "Erm, I don't know what you're talking about." Maze smiled, "My partner wanted to come in here and question you, but I know someone like you wouldn't just give it up. So I suggested we torture you. Just a little bit. But he didn't like that idea. And then, he said something kind of smart. What's a criminal like you most afraid of? Losing your anonymity. So I get to torture you after all. Expose you to all of these people, show them what you've been trying to keep private." A guy in the back got his bag and snuck out while the girl said, "Please. I just do fan subtitles for anime. I don't make fake IDs." Maze leaned in, "I know. I was just trying to flush out the bad guy and he just ran out the back."

The guy ran through a hallway, but Dan was waiting and jumped him, slamming him to the ground. He handcuffed him while Maze walked out and said, "Hi, Sergei." Sergei whimpered, "What do you want? I just help people disappear. I didn't hurt anybody." "Yeah, yeah, we know," Dan replied. "And if you want to keep people from being hurt, you're going to tell us everything you know about Leona Franklin."

Carlos was crawling through the vents, slower than he wanted, as the space was tight. "Come on," Carlos thought to himself. "I need to go faster. Everyone in that club needs me." He looked at the mirror and saw that he was close. He continued his crawling, determined to get to the bomb.

Chloe was sitting on a bench and Eve sat down next to her, "The bleeding has slowed down a little. I gave him another drink. that seemed to help." Chloe sighed, "Well, I've seen Lucifer survive worse than this, so I'm sure he'll pull through." "He has to," Eve replied. "I can't lose him. Not after we just found each other again." Chloe then said, "So you've seen his devil face? Does it scare you?" "Why would it?" Eve retorted. Chloe sighed, "I don't know." Eve looked at Chloe, "You know, I was literally created to be someone's wife. No one ever asked me if that's what I really wanted. Except for him." Chloe sighed, "What does Carlos think of you two?" Eve scowled, "I don't care what he thinks. Lucifer and I are meant to be together. He's just a kid looking for attention." Chloe looked at Eve and said, "Because he hasn't gotten the attention he deserves. Like I said, I don't know what his past is, but it wasn't good. Especially with his mother." Eve looked at Chloe and sighed, drinking from her glass, "Doesn't matter." Chloe sighed, realizing that she wouldn't get through on this issue with Eve, so looked around. She noticed Marco paying attention to one of the stairwells.

Meanwhile, Ella was telling Lucifer, "The key is in a wireless trigger. It's either Bluetooth or cellular. Cellular would be a lot less complicated. The relay's got no proximity handicap." "I see the cocaine is working," Lucifer commented. "Really?" Ella asked. "How can you tell? I don't feel any different." Lucifer sighed, "Do you have any left? I'd hate to return to hell sober." "You are not going to hell," Ella said. "You need to stop saying that. Know what else you also need to do? Stop talking about this as your last case. It's a real bummer, OK? And I've really got to stay positive." Lucifer took some deep breaths, "The Detective and I have worked together for far too long to not accept each other for who we truly are. Sadly, I don't think that'll ever happen, Miss Lopez." "That is crazy," Ella replied. "You guys are the best team ever. I mean, you care about each other so much. What do you need her to do? Take a bullet for you? Oh, sorry. But seriously, OK, you keep talking about closure. What the hell does that even mean?" "That's the point," Lucifer replied. "I don't know." Ella sighed, "Seriously, Carlos was right. You two are idiots." Chloe then walked over and whispered, "OK, he keeps looking upstairs. I think I've found the bomb."

Meanwhile, Dan and Maze found Leona. They were sitting with at her home as she said, "I spent years building a new life here. I have a job and a boyfriend. He doesn't know anything about my past." "Leona," Dan said. "Amy," Leona interrupted. "My name is Amy now." "Amy, sorry," Dan replied. "Look, after everything you went through, I'm sure that this is probably your worst nightmare. But we only need you to talk to Marco." Leona shook her head, "I'm sorry, I just…I don't think that I could face him again." "Ready to do it my way?" Maze muttered loudly. Dan sighed, "Look, I know this is a lot to ask of you. But there are lives at stake. People I care about are in that are. A teenager is trapped in that building with all of them. And to be honest with you, I don't think I can handle losing another person right now. Look, I'm trying so hard to do things the right way. And maybe it's not right for me to ask this of you, but you can help us. And you may be the only one who can."

Back at Lux, the food delivery that Marco wanted arrived. The bartender gave Marco the sandwich, "Finally. Argh, I ordered food over an hour ago." He pulled out the food and saw it was a sub sandwich but saw, "Green onions and ranch dressing. Who the hell puts green onions and ranch dressing on a sandwich?" He walked over and slammed the sandwich on the ground, right next to Chloe. "You'd better hope that your friends are better at finding people than they are at taking orders. Because I'm beginning to lose my patience!" He waved his gun around while walking around.

Chloe whispered, "Dan wouldn't make a mistake like that. "Are you sure?" Lucifer asked. "I once saw him eat a marble because it was in a candy dish." "No," Ella interrupted. "No, Chloe's right. Now's not the time to make a mistake. I'm not gong to make a mistake. I'll just defuse a bomb I've never seen before this crazy hangry bomber blows us up. I can do that. Oh, maybe Carlos can magically appear and defuse it. No wait. He's a kid. He can't. I don't think I can do this. This is wrong, this is wrong. Sandwich is wrong." "Maybe the sandwich isn't wrong," Chloe argued. "Maybe there's a message in it." Eve reassured Ella, "We're going to be fine. Lucifer says you're the smartest nerd he knows." "Yeah, yeah," Ella argued. "But look what I've done to my brain. OK, I have been partying all the time. Like all the time. I really think I've just been looking for a connection. Something, anything, since I lost what I had with the big guy and now I'm…"

Eve interrupted her by passionately kissing her. Lucifer saw this with delight, "Ladies, oh, it's a comfort to know I'll expire erect. Cheers." He took a sip of his drink, but saw that he got some blood in it as blood had started to enter his mouth, "Oh, bollocks." Chloe took the sandwich from the floor and examined it, "This is the answer. It's a southwestern sandwich from Luis'. Dan sent this because I'd recognize it. He's telling me that they'll breach from the southwest." "Is that a good thing?" Eve asked. Chloe replied, "If we can get Ella to the bomb in time, then yes. Or if Carlos has miraculously got here."

Carlos arrived just above the bomb and quietly moved the vent opening aside. He jumped down softly and looked around, "OK. I found it. Now, time to defuse it." He crept up to the curtain nearby and looked down to see everyone, "They're OK. For now. I need to get rid of this bomb before I can take out this guy." He crept back over to the bomb and reached his hand out, starting to use his powers so the bomb could tell him how to defuse it.

Outside, Dan and Maze, along with SWAT, were waiting to go in. Dan tried to hand Leona a walkie talkie, "All you do is press this button." Leona shook her head, "This isn't going to work." Dan sighed, "Look, you're going to be fine. You have nothing to worry about." "Except an ex-boyfriend with a bomb," Maze added. Leona sighed, "Hearing me on a walkie-talkie isn't going to be enough. I need to go in there." "No," Dan argued. "It's way too dangerous." "No," Leona retorted. "I know that he wants to see me. Those people in there, the ones you can't lose, that teenager, this is how we save them."

In Lux, Chloe whispered, "If they're following protocol, the food delivery started a countdown, which probably means we have about ten minutes until SWAT arrives. So we have to get the bomb taken care of before that. Ella, are you good?" Ella nodded, "Yeah, sure. Yeah." Chloe turned to Eve, "Eve, back her up in case anything happens. You're…good at…calming her down." Eve asked, "But what about…" "He's going to be fine," Chloe interrupted. "We just need a distraction to get you guys up there."

"Marco." Everyone looked up and saw Leona standing there. Marco was surprised but glad to see her. "I can't believe it," Marco said. "You're actually here." "I am so sorry," Leona said as Chloe mimed for Eve and Ella to get to the stairs to reach the bomb. "I know that all of this is my fault. Everything is my fault." "No," Marco argued but Leona interrupted, "No, no, just let me say this."

Ella and Eve reached the stairs and ran up to the bomb, but were surprised to see Carlos there working on defusing it. "Carlos?" Ella asked. "How did you get here?" "Vents," Carlos answered. "Not easy though. Right now, I am trying to defuse this bomb. Almost got it." "How?" Eve asked, slightly annoyed with Carlos. Carlos turned back and said, "Just getting it to let me know how to defuse it. There is some tech in it after all." Ella and Eve were confused by that. "Got it. Ella, do you have scissors or something on you?" Ella nodded as she pulled out nail scissors and Carlos got them. He cut one of the wires and the bomb shut off. Carlos sighed in relief as Eve asked, "How did you do that?" Carlos smirked, "Trade secret." "At least I don't have to do it," Ella remarked.

Back on the main floor, Leona was still talking with Marco, "I have made so many mistakes. You didn't deserve what happened to you, Marco. I am so sorry." She walked up and gave him a hug, that Marco returned. But then Leona suddenly stabbed him in the abdomen and took the gun and detonator off of him. Marco fell to the floor in pain as the crowd gasped. Chloe stood up and said, "OK, Leona, give me the gun and the detonator. It's OK. I'm a cop." Leona looked at Chloe and said, "Yeah. You're a cop. And I don't know what Marco told you, so I can't take any chances." She pointed the gun at Chloe and everyone gasped in shock. Leona shouted, "Everybody get in the corner. Hurry. Move!" The club goers did as they were told, and Lucifer, still bleeding out, crawled over to Marco and whispered, "Doesn't feel so great, does it?" He chuckled as he laid on the ground next to Marco.

Carlos, Eve, and Ella heard the gasps and Carlos crawled to the curtain and saw what was happening. He turned back to Eve and Ella and said, "You two need to stay here. I'll go down and stop that woman." "But," Eve started to argue and Carlos turned and glared at her with red eyes and commanded, "Stay here." Eve felt her body obey Carlos' command and Carlos started to creep down the stairs as he activated the Ring of Envy to cloak himself from Leona.

Leona looked down at Marco and said, "Is he still alive? Yeah, he always was tougher than he was smart." "You were involved with the robbery," Chloe realized. Leona chuckled, "I wasn't involved in the robbery. I masterminded it. This idiot and his army bras couldn't plan a trip to the beach. Just lost minions in my plan." That statement got Carlos angry. She was starting to sound like his mother as his anger rose. He continued to sneak down the steps as Chloe said, "So Marco never wanted us to find you so he could apologize. He wanted to take out his final partner." "Yeah," Leona replied. "It was a pretty good trap. Force the police to find me. If I don't show, he blows my cover and, if I do, well, boom I go. I mean, that was the plan, wasn't it, Marco? You weren't expecting me to play on your emotions, were you? You always were such a soft idiot." She pressed her foot on the knife and Marco screamed in pain.

"What now?" Chloe asked. "You go outside and tell them Marco apologized and let you go. Then what? The place explodes and it's all Marco's fault?" Leona chuckled, "Sounds like a pretty solid plan to me."

Ella was starting to panic as Eve muttered, "What is that kid up to?" Ella looked up and said, "OK, big guy. I know it's been a while, but I'm going to really need a sign here."

"You don't need to do this, Leona," Chloe said. "Sorry," Leona said. "I have worked too hard to go to jail now. After rebuilding my life." "Do you know what kind of ordnance Marco used?" Chloe asked. "How far away you need to be before you hit the detonator? What are you going to do with that thing after you hit the button?" Leona chuckled, "Nice try. You're not getting in my head that easily. I'm the superior one here. Marco and his bros are the fools. All of you are. You're all weak. You're not going to talk me down."

"But I will." Chloe turned to see Carlos standing behind her and Leona pointed her gun at him, "So, you must be that teenager that detective outside talked about. Step back, kid. I will shoot you." "About bloody time you got here," Lucifer muttered from the floor. Carlos glared at Leona and said in a commanding voice, "You will not shoot anybody in here with that gun." Leona chuckled, but as she tried to pull the trigger, her finger refused to move. She screamed in annoyance and pushed the button on the detonator, but nothing happened. Carlos chuckled darkly, "Oh the bomb. I defused it. Can't rely on that now." Chloe turned to Carlos and whispered, "You did? Nice job."

Leona threw the detonator down in fury and shouted, "You little brat! I don't know what you did. But you will pay." Carlos' eyes glowed red as he reached his hand out and the gun flew out of Leona's hand and into his. Leona looked at Carlos with terror in her eyes. Carlos then commanded, "Get on your knees." Leona's body obeyed as Chloe whispered, "Carlos, what are you doing?" But Carlos ignored her as he walked to Leona and said, "You know, I was listening to what you said. How you are the mastermind and Marco and his bros are just your stupid minions. And how you called everyone here weak. That really pissed me off. You sounded just like my mother. And I hate my mother. You remind me of her so much. She thought she was a queen where no one could touch her. She never got her hands dirty with her schemes. She had two bumbling minions to do her bidding. If they tried to question her, she would berate them. She thought she had a foolproof plan in place for her big scheme. But she failed, just like you did. But she still thought that she was all high and mighty. Even in her new life that was forced upon her. Then I came into the picture. I wasn't her son, I was her servant, her slave. Just like Marco here was to you. Do you know what she made me do? Scrub the floors, dust the shelves, wash her car, etc. If I didn't well…"

Carlos reached down and squeezed Leona's hand hard and Leona screamed in pain. Chloe shouted, "Carlos stop!" But Carlos wasn't listening as he continued, "Did you know that she never let me sleep in a bed? No. I had to sleep in her closet to protect her precious coats. And I couldn't use any of them to keep me warm on those cold nights. And if I took the wrong step…" He reached down and squeezed her leg with his nails as Leona screamed again. Carlos chuckled darkly, "Mother kept bear traps in there to trap thieves. My legs have the scars from them. I couldn't fight back against her. She kept me weak. She told me I was worthless. That I would never escape her. That I would always do her bidding. But I escaped. I got out. Just like Marco did. And he wanted his revenge. On you. Should I finish what he started?"

"Carlos." This time it was Lucifer on the floor calling out to him. Carlos turned to him as Lucifer continued, "You did enough. Don't cross that line. Like I did." Carlos felt his anger start to go down and his eyes turned brown again. He then said, "I am not my mother. I will never be like her. But thank you for stopping me before I did something that I would later regret." He turned to Leona and said, "Besides, you are about to get the punishment you deserve for getting away the first time. Right Chloe?" Chloe nodded and said, "Yes. And it's about to come in through the southwest corner."

Suddenly the southwest wall exploded and Chloe jumped onto Lucifer to protect him from the blast and Leona was blasted back a few feet and Carlos ran to Lucifer's side. The SWAT team came in and Chloe shouted, "Arrest that woman. Now!" The SWAT team put Leona in handcuffs.

Eve and Ella felt the blast and Ella asked, "Is it over! Thank God. We're alive. We made it." Eve looked past the curtain and saw Chloe and Carlos at Lucifer's side and she felt jealousy rise in her.

Chloe learned over to Lucifer and asked, "Are you OK?" "You landed on my bullet wound," Lucifer said. "That's exactly the jolt of blinding pain I needed to keep me awake." "I'm sorry," Chloe said. "No, detective," Lucifer replied. "You threw yourself onto me. You were willing to sacrifice yourself to protect me." He turned to Carlos and said, "You saved all of us. And you listened to me for once." Carlos sighed and said, "I'm sorry. I just heard what she said and it brought back painful memories. Thank you for bringing me out of it. Let me return the favor." He pulled out Mal's potion and said, "I was going to give a drop or two to Ella, but you need it more than she does. Open your mouth." Lucifer complied and Carlos opened the vial and two drops entered Lucifer's mouth. He swallowed and he felt his bullet wound start to close up. He felt a strange aura working through him because of the potion. He looked over and said, "What is…" Carlos interrupted, "Just something my friend made. It will heal you." Chloe looked down and saw his wound start to close. She looked up at Carlos and thought, "Who is this kid? And what has he gone through?"

Lucifer was still taken away by medics and Carlos got Eve and Ella down from where they were. The police came in and got everyone out. Eve stayed with Lucifer next to the ambulance. Carlos agreed to work with the police to show them the security footage so they could get the full story.

After Chloe talked to some of the other detectives, she walked over to Lucifer and Eve, who was putting booze in Lucifer's IV bag so that they could hide the fact that he wasn't hooked up to anything and he was healing rapidly, thanks to his celestial nature and the potion Carlos gave him. "Detective," Lucifer greeted. "Fancy seeing you here." "How are you feeling?" Chloe asked. Lucifer smiled, "I started feeling better the moment Carlos gave me whatever was in that vial and when I got out on the street. Funny that. Also, I have an excellent nurse." Eve smiled, and noticed that Lucifer wanted to talk to Chloe alone. Reluctantly, Eve said, "I'll give you two a moment." She walked away as Chloe said, "So anyhow, I just wanted to make sure you were OK. And, about this being your last case, well, I just wanted you to know that I understand how you're feeling." Lucifer replied, "And now I understand how you feel as well, Detective. And, for what it's worth, I think I've got my closure." "Good," Chloe said. Lucifer smirked, "For our next case, try not to bring a triggers-happy murderer to one of my parties. It kills the buzz." Chloe realized, "You still want to be partners?" Lucifer replied, "You know me, Detective. I go off and do something dramatic and then I realize I'm right where I'm supposed to be."

The medics tried to load him into the ambulance, but Carlos walked over and said, "Hey, don't load him in. He's fine. Just go and forget he was even here." The EMTs nodded and Carlos helped Lucifer off and Lucifer dusted off his shirt, "Took your time, did you?" Carlos shrugged, "You needed to look like you were going to the hospital. Thought you had enough of it." Lucifer smiled and said, "Good to know." Carlos smiled back and said, "I need to head back upstairs to put the security system back online. I'll see you later." Carlos ran inside as Lucifer said, "That boy is full of surprises." "Hmm," Chloe replied. She turned to Lucifer and said, "I think you need to help him. You heard what he said to Leona about his mother. I think you need to sit with him and sort out his feelings. His pain." Lucifer looked at Chloe and said, "Me? I am far from the right person for him to talk to. He's going to sessions with Linda. He can talk to her." "I know," Chloe said. "But he listens to you. He respects you. He needs someone in his life that will have his back. You can be that person. Look, he clearly has a troubled past. I noticed right away when he flinched from me trying to help clean his hand wound. His mother was abusive to him. He needs an adult figure who can show him the love and attention any kid needs. Just think about it." Chloe walked away as Lucifer thought about what she said. He sighed, "The Detective does have a point. But will he open up to see? He has trust issues and hasn't revealed much about who he is. Maybe this could be a turning point."

A few feet away, Dan was standing alone with his thoughts. He saw Maze walking over and he said, "This is all on me. I should of realized what she intended to do." "No," Maze said. "You should have let me go in there. Marco wouldn't be in an ambulance. The woman was an amateur. Luckily Carlos saved the day. Brave kid." Dan sighed, "It was right there. The connections she had for the fake ID. Insisting I let her go inside to face him." "Like I said Dan," Maze interrupted. "You have to think like a criminal. And remember the woman who actually knows how to use her knife. Also, show some gratitude to the kid. He's earned it."

Maze walked away as Ella ran up to Dan and said, "Dan! Dan. Don't beat yourself up, OK? You can't get inside the head of every psycho. Look, it all worked out." "Thank God you were in there, Ella," Dan commented. "That is just it," Ella replied. "Yea I was in there, but I wasn't the one who defused the bomb. I almost had to, but Carlos somehow defused it. I don't understand how. But when he confronted that lady, I asked God for a sign, and that's when I realized, Dan, I wasn't going to get one because I had to count on someone else. On Carlos. Not God. And now I know that God doesn't exist." Ella started to laugh and Dan asked, "Are you on drugs?" "A little ecstasy," Ella said. "And some cocaine. Carlos never gave me that help he mentioned. Oh, my God, you smell amazing." Dan grabbed her arm and led her away from the scene before she embarrassed herself more.

Later that night, Amenadiel stopped by Chloe's house. Chloe answered the door, "Amenadiel, hey." Chloe let Amenadiel in, "Chloe. Uh, you wanted to see me?" Chloe closed the door and said, "Yeah, I did. I know we haven't had a chance to talk since I found out, well, everything." "Yeah," Amenadiel agreed. "That I'm an angel. How are you? I mean, it is a lot to process." "Yeah, it is," Chloe agreed. "But I didn't know who else to talk to about this. Right? My job is to read people, to understand their motives, to make sense of the world. And, right now, my world is celestials and immortals and a mysterious kid. OK, look. Is Eve OK? Is Eve secretly evil or some supernatural threat to the world?" "Not that I know of, no," Amenadiel answered. "Hmm," Chloe said. "I'm not so sure. I mean, she has a fun personality, and she genuinely cares deeply about Lucifer. And she is so protective over him. A little too protective. She was reluctant to leave his side, and I don't know what her main goal is. Sure, she wants to be with Lucifer, but to what extent? And how jealous she seems with Carlos…" "What?" Amenadiel stopped her. "What do you mean?" Chloe sighed, "Any time Carlos was mentioned, she would get an angry look on her face and talked down about him. Not even caring that he went through some horrible things in his youth. She didn't care. And she doesn't like the bond he has with Lucifer. That makes me worried. About Carlos. About Lucifer. I just need to keep an eye out for them. And I am asking for you to help me."

Amenadiel nodded in agreement and said, "After all that you've been through, Chloe, what you're worried about most is what's best for those that you care about. No wonder your dad is so proud of you." Chloe took a moment to realize, "Oh, that's sweet, but you know, my dad, he… Oh. Right. Thank you."

Over at Lux, Lucifer found Carlos on the guest level typing away at his laptop. He walked over and said, "Working hard, are you?" Carlos nodded, "That guy got through my security system. I just want to make sure that it never happens again. So that no one gets hurt here again." Lucifer nodded and said, "Carlos, we need to talk." Carlos stopped typing and said, "I thought as much." He closed his laptop and said, "You want to talk about what happened." Lucifer nodded and sat on the bed next to Carlos, "Yes, but more about what you said. And how you acted today. Getting cut by Maze, flinching when Chloe tried to help you, and what you did and said to that woman. I know you don't fully trust me yet, but I want you to know that if you ever need someone to talk to, you can talk to me. And Linda, of course." Carlos nodded as Lucifer continued, "I want to ask you one thing. Only one thing, and I won't ask any more tonight. Is what you said about what your mother did to you true?" Carlos' eyes started to tear up and he whispered, "Yes." Lucifer's face tensed up and he said, "I remember you said that your mother wasn't nice to you, but this…..Show me. I know you've mentioned them before but now I want to see them. Show me the scars."

Carlos lowered a trembling hand to his left leg and pulled up the pant leg, revealing jagged scars near his ankle, and did the same for the right leg. He also rolled up his sleeves to show scars all along his arms. Lucifer felt his anger rise within him, and Carlos said, "They never truly faded. Sometimes I can still feel the pain, like I'm getting them all over again. And I can still hear her voice in my head, taunting me. She wanted to prove to whomever that I was worthless. That I was never her son. Just someone she could manipulate. To have as her slave. I thought I would never be able to escape. But I am thankful that I did. I was chosen to go to school on the mainland, away from my old life. Away from my mother. I didn't have to stay any longer. Because if I did, then…." Carlos then broke down and leaned into Lucifer's chest and sobbed into it. Lucifer was slightly shaken out of his anger and put his arms around Carlos and held him as the boy sobbed. Lucifer calmly said, "I know that she treated you poorly. No mother, hell, no parent should treat their child like that. One day, I will punish her for what she did to you. I promise." Carlos chuckled and said, "Yeah. Maybe not full blown though." Lucifer saw the box that had one of his wings in it and reached over, took it out, and handed it to Carlos, who muttered, "Thanks."

Carlos yawned and Lucifer laid him down on the bed as Carlos whispered, "At least she was good for one thing. She was the one who told me to find you to help me." He then fell asleep as Lucifer sat there in shock at what Carlos just said. "It was his mother who told him about me?" Lucifer thought. He looked down at Carlos and saw something shine near his neck and he reached down and pulled out a chain with a ring on it. A ring with a green gem. Lucifer studied it and thought, "This ring….it feels familiar to me…but why? It has a similar aura like that drink he gave me earlier…like something I haven't felt in a long time….Magic." He looked back at Carlos and thought, "Who is this boy?"

Lucifer then went back up to his penthouse and slept on his bed next to Eve. He wasn't in the mood for any sexy times as he spent most of the night processing what happened throughout the day and brushing it aside for now. He got up the next morning and was making drinks for himself and Eve, who walked up next to him and said, "You know, I'm really happy you're going back to work. Adam's idea of paradise was laying around all day doing nothing. Once we got ESPN up there, forgot it." Eve was slightly lying, she liked that Lucifer was going out and doing stuff, but she didn't like him hanging around Chloe. Lucifer smiled, "Well, sadly there'll be a lot less lying around here now that I'm back to catching killers. But there are certain perks to having a boyfriend who works with the LAPD. An endless supply of handcuffs, for one." "Boyfriend?" Eve asked. "Well," Lucifer replied. "Once someone tends to you when you're bleeding to death, it's only good manners to make it official."

They leaned in and kissed each other. Eve pulled back and asked, "So, we're really doing this?" Lucifer smiled, "I'll finish making your drink and we'll toast to it." He picked up a knife and started to cut into an apple when he felt the knife hit his skin. He winced and Eve said, "Careful! Oh, you're fine. What is it with you only getting injured sometimes?" "Oh," Lucifer answered. "I'm only vulnerable when the Detective's around." Eve asked, "What?" But Lucifer interrupted, "Oh, I totally forgot. My snake costume finally arrived. You are going to love this. We can have a good few rounds then I need to meet up with Carlos before I head out." Lucifer walked off and Eve stood there, thinking to herself, "Chloe makes him vulnerable? Why? And Carlos…Lucifer's still cares for the kid more than he should. I will be the main person in Lucifer's life. Mark my words."
