Lucifer and Eve, both shaken up by confronting Julian and Carlos stopping them, they went back to Lux. Lucifer treated the minor wounds that Eve got from being thrown into a tree. They went up to the penthouse, and as the elevator passed the guest suite, Lucifer could have sworn that he heard crying. Shaking it off, they arrived and laid in bed. Eve said, "I never felt like that before. That was…" "Exhilarating," Lucifer finished for her, his mind in two different places. "That man was so terrible," Eve continued. "Truly evil," Lucifer commented, thinking back to Carlos calling him the same thing. "We made him pay," Eve said. "Maybe more if Carlos didn't interfere. Who can we punish next? I want to feel like that again." "Yes," Lucifer said. "It's quite the rush, finally being who I'm meant to be." Eve giggled at that, knowing that she was successful at returning Lucifer to his true state, but Lucifer still felt unsure, so he hid it. Carlos' words were still ringing in his head. Did Carlos really grow up in a place surrounded by evil people? He mentioned the Isle, which sounded familiar. And Carlos called his mother the Devil, a villain. Why was this all sounding familiar?

Lucifer brushed all that aside to focus on Eve, "But, sadly, my dear, criminals don't line up to be punished." "So that's why you work with the LAPD," Eve replied. "It all makes so much sense now. You use them to find the bad guys. Well, I want in." Lucifer sat up, "Oh, do you now? Maybe we could do it together. Find the worst of the worst and give them what they deserve." "With no Carlos to stop us," Eve added, and Lucifer felt a bit put off by that. But he ignored it and started to make out with Eve.

Julian was found the next morning and brought to a hospital where Chloe and Dan met up with him as Julian started to confess, "So, Julian, you admit to human trafficking and to the murder of Gary Van Blunt and officer Joan Reyes." "Yes," Julian admitted to Chloe. Dan leaned down and said, "You're going to jail for a really long time, cop killer." "At least I'll be safe," Julian whispered. "What?" Dan asked. Chloe sighed, "Julian, if you didn't break your back falling down a hill, we need to know about that now." "I fell down the hill," Julian lied, not wanting Lucifer to come back. "I swear!"

Dan pulled Chloe out of the room and Chloe asked, "What's up?" "Julian's reaction," Dan said. "Does it look familiar to you? Like people we've seen before after a certain consultant has been left alone with them. I think Lucifer did this." Chloe replied. "That's crazy." Dan got angry, "You know what's crazy? How much Lucifer gets away with. I'm sick of it. Aren't you?" "Lucifer wouldn't do this," Chloe said. "He wouldn't go this far." Dan replied, "He would never take justice into his own hands? Especially as a cop was killed because of his stupid recklessness." Chloe stopped him, "You need to cut him some slack. You have had a target on his back ever since Charlotte. I'm just not sure if you're looking at this objectively. That's all." "Like you are?" Dan asked as he walked away with disgust.

Amenadiel and Remiel were standing on top of a tall building as Remiel said, "I could understand Lucifer callously ignoring our duty to keep humans and the divine separate. But you? How could you do this? A child with a human?" "Wonderful human," Amenadiel replied. "I know how difficult this must be for you. All right? I used to be just like you. Looking down on humans as if they were ants. But we need to realize that we are not above them." "I am above them," Remiel argued. "But you…You don't even have your powers anymore, do you?" "No," Amenadiel revealed. "I can no longer slow time and I'm glad. My powers, they kept me at a distance, kept me disconnected from humanity. And I think that's why they're gone now. Because I don't want that anymore." Remiel replied, "You were the one who taught me that celestials and humans need to be separate." "Yes, Remy," Amenadiel said. "I did, and now I am telling you that I was wrong. Let me show you." Remiel sighed, but decided to play along for now. "Besides," Remiel thought. "I now know where one of the children is located. And Amenadiel doesn't know it's him. I will take him and the baby."

Carlos didn't leave the guest suite for two days. He programmed the elevator to make sure Lucifer or Eve couldn't get in. Lucifer tried the day before and couldn't. Carlos sighed as he pet Dude. He finally decided to message Jane through video chat this time about what happened. Jane was sad for Carlos and understanding of what happened, but said, "Carlos, I know that you are hurting right now about your dad's actions, but don't back out now. You promised your friends that you wouldn't." "Well, maybe I lied," Carlos replied. "Carlos," Jane sighed. "You are letting your anger get the better of you. I know you are smarter than that. You said that you weren't going to let Eve win and you are. You are better than that. You need to show her that you don't mess with a VK. And you need to help your dad so that he can help you." Carlos sighed, "You're right. But I'm still mad at him." "And that's OK," Jane said. "And keep your emotions in check. You said that your illusion spell on your hair was breaking during it. But maybe this is a sign that you should tell Lucifer that you're his son." "I will," Carlos said. "First, I need to get Eve away from him and show him that he doesn't need to be the man he used to be. I did call him a villain though." "I understand why," Jane said. "But maybe you can help him not be that. You still have Evie's mirror. Keep an eye on him. And please talk to him." Carlos sighed, "All right, Jane. I promise I will."

Carlos signed off and went upstairs to the penthouse to talk to Lucifer. But it was empty. Sighing he pulled out the mirror and it showed him and Eve driving around LA. "Let's see what those two are up to," Carlos thought.

Chloe arrived at the crime scene, that was under a bridge, and asked Ella, "Hey, Ella, who do we have?" "Hey, Chloe," Ella greeted as she was taking pictures of the victim. "Victim died from a gunshot straight to the head up on that bridge. But apparently murder wasn't enough so they tossed his body over the bridge like day old garbage. Broke nearly every bone in his body from the looks of it." Ella seemed off to Chloe so she asked, "Are you OK?" "Just death," Ella replied. "People die. Well, we just deal with it."

Chloe sighed, "Anyhow, what do we know about this guy?" "Sam Zofrelli," Ella answered. "Rap sheet filled with drug possession charges. We also found trans of cocaine in his pockets, but no sign of drug use. So I'm thinking probably dealer." "So you think this was about drugs?" Chloe asked. Ella shrugged, "Maybe. Pockets were empty. Keys, wallet, all gone. But the body was here for hours so could have been taken by anyone brave enough to frisk a corpse this effed-up." Chloe thee asked, "But why throw a body over a bridge that's already dead?" Ella looked around, "Where's Lucifer?" Chloe sighed, "Oh, he's been ignoring me actually."

Suddenly Lucifer pulled up in his car with Eve. "Oh," Ella said. "He's with Eve." "Yes," Chloe replied. "Probably with Eve. What do you think of her? I think that sh's rubbing off on him and not necessarily in a good way. And Carlos doesn't trust her at all, which worries me." "Good morning, Detective," Lucifer called out as he and Eve walked up to Chloe and Ella. Chloe sighed, "Please don't tell me she's behind me?" "She's behind you," Ella whispered. Chloe turned around as Eve greeted, "Hello." "Lucifer," Chloe said. "This is a crime scene. No visitors. Except Carlos. No offense, Eve." Eve scowled at that, but Lucifer said, "Eve wants the same thing we do. Catch a killer." "Yes," Eve agreed. "I'm here to learn from you, Chloe. I want to know everything there is to know about catching criminals. Especially the very, very bad ones."

Chloe turned to Lucifer, "Can I talk to you, alone?" Lucifer turned to Eve, and Eve nodded. So Lucifer walked away with Chloe and Chloe said, "This isn't going to work." "I agree," Lucifer replied. "A gingham pocket square can be a bit aggressive, but I'm feeling it." "No," Chloe said. "Eve being here, not OK." "Why not?" Lucifer asked. Chloe sighed, "You can't just join a case for the fun of it. We are solving a murder. This is serious." "Oh, I agree," Lucifer said. "Very serious. But if that's how you feel, I completely understand." "And where's Carlos?" Chloe asked. "I know that he's a kid, but you seemed attached to him and he's been helpful in the past. Eve, not so much." Lucifer sighed and said, "We had an….argument and Carlos wants space again. So I brought Eve as she wants to help. And like I said, I am taking this very seriously." He turned to leave, but Chloe asked, "Where are you going?" Lucifer sighed, "If you don't want us here, we'll find the killer on our own." Chloe chuckled, "You can't do that." Lucifer glared at her, "Oh yes we can." Chloe was a little shocked, but said, "OK, fine. Eve can ride along just for this case."

Chloe heard squealing behind her and turned to see Eve shouting, "Exciting!" Chloe then thought, "Something happened that is making Lucifer ask like this and Carlos missing again. I need to figure out what." Lucifer then put his arm around Chloe and Eve and said, "This is going to be so much fun."

They went to the police station and Eve was looking at wanted posters, "Lucifer, this guy looks really guilty. What about this guy? That's one mean looking face. We should punish them." "One criminal at a time, dear," Lucifer replied. Chloe's phone went off and said, "Decker. No, I will not accept his call." Sh got off the phone and Lucifer asked, "Who was that?" "Nobody," Chloe lied. Chloe walked away as Lucifer felt his phone buzz and saw a text from Carlos, "We need to talk." Lucifer was surprised that Carlos was ready to talk to him. As much as Lucifer wanted to talk to Carlos about what was said, he just sent a quick text saying, "Later."

Carlos got the text and sighed, "I had a feeling he would ignore me like I ignored him yesterday. I deserve it I guess." "Keep trying," Dude said. "You both can't be stubborn about this. Jane is right. You need to talk to him." "I know," Carlos said. "I'll keep trying."

Back at LAPD, Dan was talking with Ella, "Lucifer's brining his girlfriend on cases now, huh?" "She's actually really sweet," Ella replied. "Anyway, you know what? Why not do whatever makes you happy? Because any second, bam! You can get hit by a chuck of blue ice from an airplane or get blown up into a million pieces by some crazed killer." "Or," Dan suggested. "You could mysteriously break your spinal cord and become, you know, paralyzed. Is anybody investigating what happened to Julian McCaffrey? Nobody's buying his "I feel down the hill" story, right?" Ella sighed, "He didn't file any charges, so there's nothing to investigate. Even if we wanted to, remember that house he lived in? It's probably been professionally cleaned." "You're right," Dan replied. "You're absolutely right."

Dan exited the lab just as Lucifer said to Eve, "Oh, that's Daniel. He's a douche again." Dan sighed and he walked away as Eve asked, "Does he need to be punished too?" "No," Lucifer answered. "Believe me, his existence is punishment enough." They along with Chloe walked into Ella's lab and Chloe asked, "Hey, Ella, what do we have?" Ella sighed, "Well, we still don't know why Sam's body was tossed off the bridge." "Because the killer is a maniacal monster who needs to be taken down," Lucifer said. "Maybe," Ella replied. "But I did discover that thee killer pistol-whipped poor Sam before he died." "Sounds like it could be personal," Chloe suggested. "And aggressive," Lucifer added. "And cruel," Eve added. "And a mistake," Ella continued. "Because I was able to recover something from the gun marks on his face. Gold flakes." Eve squealed, "Gold flakes? In there? That is so cool, Ella. Do you get to take part in the punishment too?" Ella shook her head meekly as Chloe said, "Golden gun. It's unique and it sounds familiar." "Yes," Lucifer chimed in. "Roger Moore's Bond films. Perhaps our killer's Scaramanga, the man with the three nipples." Chloe shook her head as she asked, "Ella, do you remember there was a hitman or something who carries a golden pistol. Do you remember that?" Ella pulled out her laptop and found, "Greg Grabowski and goes by the nickname Pony Boy." "Pony Boy?" Lucifer replied. "Stay gold indeed." "That's right," Chloe said. "And we're never able to pin him down because he's so good. But if this wasn't a hit and it was personal, it would explain why he was so sloppy." "He sounds terrible," Eve chimed in. "Let's go punish him!" Chloe glared at Eve, "You mean, bring him to justice." "That's what I said," Eve replied. "That clears that up," Lucifer added. "Come on."

Meanwhile, Maze was sitting with Linda and talking directly to the baby in Linda's womb, "When I was a newborn demon, I was smaller than my opponents. But I was fast. So I used my speed, kept low, and always went for the major arteries. With my first vanquished for on his knees, I slit my bald across his throat. I felt the heat from his blood dripping down my face. And then a stranger heat in my loins." "OK," Linda stopped her. "When I mentioned that the baby could hear everything from inside the womb, I imagined introducing him to things like classical music, and stories, that aren't about graphic murders." "Why would you want to hear a story not about graphic murder?" Maze asked.

Linda sighed, "We can talk about that later. I have to go to work." She stood up along with Maze, "Great. Give me a second to get my knives." Maze was about to go grab them but Linda stopped her, "Maze, sweetie. You can't come to work with me." "I have to," Maze argued. "Do you know all the things that could happen to you or your baby out there?" "Heartburn?" Linda suggested. Maze sighed, "You could get gunned down in a drive-by shooting, Linda. Or kidnapped by a cartel who use women as drug mules, not to mention what an angel baby will fetch on the black market." "How comforting," Linda commented. Maze continued, "You said I'm a part of this family, Linda. So I'm going to protect you. Maze, the people I am seeing this afternoon are a vegan chef who compulsively shoplifts and a record producer who wets the bed. Maze, I don't need protecting." Linda walked out of the house, leaving Maze standing there alone.

Back at LAPD, Dan emptied a trash can he got from Julian's house. Ella walked in and asked, "What are you doing?" "Oh, hey," Dan replied. "I paid off the cleaning crew in Julian's house. What? I'm looking for something in his trash to prove that somebody was there the night he was paralyzed." Dan noticed a cigarette and picked it up as Ella said, "Well, I don't know about any of that, but I can help if you want." Dan knew what the cigarette meant, "Lucifer's brand." "What did you say?" Ella asked. Dan put the cigarette down and said, "Er, nothing. I, uh, found what I need."

Meanwhile, Chloe, Lucifer, and Eve went to the beach where an outdoor gym was located. Lucifer had his phone out as Carlos was still trying to message him. Lucifer wanted to respond, but he put his phone away as Eve said, "Damn, these guys are huge. We can take them, right honey?" Lucifer knew that Eve had some sort of issue with Carlos and didn't want her to know that Carlos wanted to talk to him, so he responded, "Of course I can, darling, I'm the Devil." Eve giggled, "In that case, I hope this guy we're after is the biggest, meanest one there is." "We don't want that," Chloe chimed in. "I do," Eve replied. "Makes it more satisfying when Lucifer beats them up." Chloe sighed, "We don't beat people up in the middle of the street." "Oh," Eve replied. "Do we take them back to Lucifer's penthouse?" Chloe had a feeling something was up, so she instead said, "Anyway. We don't beat people up anywhere." "Unless they resist and then it's Devil by TKO," Lucifer replied. "Don't worry, they always resist."

Chloe looked over and found who they were looking for, "There's Pony Boy." The man was working out on one of the machines and Eve commented, "Look at those arms." "Let's not get carried away," Lucifer said. Chloe walked over and said to Pony Boy, "Greg "Pony Boy" Grabowski, LAPD. You're under arrest for the murder…." "OK," Greg interrupted. "What?" Chloe asked. "What was that?" Eve asked. "I thought they always resisted." "Look," Greg sighed. "I've been through this a hundred times. I'm just gonna wait for my lawyer." Eve turned to Lucifer and said, "Lucifer, you should torture the truth out of him until his lawyer shows up." Chloe sighed, "Eve, that's not how it works." Lucifer sighed, knowing what Eve wanted and what Chloe wanted and said, "Everybody calm down. Eve just wants to see the Devil do his thing. And there is one thing you haven't seen me do. Tell me, my little Pony Boy, what is it you desire?" Greg gave in, "I wish my boss had let me kill Sam." "Oh," Lucifer responded, somewhat sad but also strangely glad that he didn't have to punish the man in front of the two girls. "Sorry, darling, we can't punish him after all. The man's innocent." "Are you crazy?" Eve whispered. "Watching the Devil do this thing is so hot." Chloe stepped forward and asked, "So you wished your boss let you kill him. Then who's your boss and if it wasn't you, who used your golden gun to do it?" "Lawyer," Greg answered. "Now." Chloe looked back at Lucifer and Eve, but they were making out. Chloe sighed and arrested Greg.

They all went back to LAPD and Lucifer wheeled Eve around on a chair. Chloe was sitting at her desk when Ella came over, "Hey, Chloe. I know that look. You found something." "I hope so," Chloe said. "Hitmen are often paid as corporate employees through shell companies to hide the money. But it also sometimes means that they get the corporate perks." "Like covering their gym membership fees," Ella realized. "So who's paying for Pony Boy to get so jacked?" Chloe answered, "It looks like it all tracks back to Jacob Tierning here." "The paralyzed dude's dad?" Ella asked. "Does this have something to do with that case?" Chloe replied, "Tierning's son shows up paralyzed from the chest down. Then this guy dies. So it has to be, right?" Ella nodded, "I think Sam's bones were broken before he was killed in thee exact same spot that Julian's was."

Lucifer had come over to get a highlighter, but heard the name Julian and asked, "Julian McCaffrey? What dose this have to do with him?" Chloe answered, "Maybe Tierning thought that Sam broke Julian's back. Normally he'd hire Pony Boy to do his dirty work, but it's his son so…" "He wanted to enact revenge himself and borrowed Pony Boy's gun to do it," Ella finished. "I'll get you the ME report." "Great," Chloe said as she went to go check on something else.

But Lucifer felt guilt and anger rise in him, which Eve noticed, "Hey, Luce." "I did that," Lucifer said. "I broke Julian's back. Tierning killed an innocent man." "What does that mean?" Before Lucifer could answer, his phone went off and Lucifer saw another text from Carlos saying, "I am here next to your car. Come out. We need to talk." Lucifer sighed and told Eve, "Stay here. I'll be right back." He walked out and Eve stood there wondering what happened.

Lucifer walked out to the parking lot and saw Carlos leaning against his car with Dude at his side. "Does that dog really have to go everywhere with you?" Lucifer asked as he walked up to Carlos. Carlos smirked, "Perhaps. But for now, we need to talk." "Oh, now you want to talk?" Lucifer said. "First of all, you said plenty the last time we talked. About how I'm the Devil and I've going down this path and going back to the man I used to be. That now I'm evil. Isn't that what you said?" "Yes," Carlos said. "I was angry at what you did to that guy, but now that I've calmed down, I wanted us to have another talk, while we are both calm." "So you're not going to push me back several yards again?" Lucifer asked. Carlos shook his head, "No. And I am sorry for that. And for doing the same to Eve. Even if she kind of deserved it." "Seriously?" Lucifer shouted. "I don't know what issues you two have with each other, but that needs to stop." "Lucifer," Carlos said. "Can we focus on that later? I am trying to apologize for my actions, and you're not helping me here." "Clearly, I'm not," Lucifer replied. "Are you going to try and talk me down from harming another man or are we going to talk about what's going on with you?" "Me?" Carlos asked. "Yes, you," Lucifer said. "You are still hiding things from me and my patience is wearing thin. There's more about your mother that you aren't telling me. You called me a villain, which is apparently what your mother is, and you said your mother is also called the Devil. And you mentioned that you grew up surrounded by evil people in a place called the Isle. Not to mention your appearance started to change when you were shouting at me. So you are clearing not telling me the whole truth and that was part of our deal. I would help you control your powers and you would tell me more about yourself. Should we go back on our deal if we clearly aren't contributing to it anymore? Since clearly you are hiding who you are and won't trust me so why should I trust you?"

Carlos was shocked, "Is that what you think our relationship is? Just part of a deal? Have you really changed that much these past six months? Has she affected you that much? I thought our trust with each other was growing and our relationship was growing, but clearly I was wrong. You don't really care about me, do you? Have you really thrown away the good man you are to become the Devil you used to be?" Lucifer was the shocked one now, as he still cared about the boy and was having a battle within himself and realized that maybe in his anger he went too far. He saw tears well up in Carlos' eyes and Lucifer sighed, "Carlos, I….."

"Lucifer!" Lucifer turned to see Eve walking out and waving with Chloe rolling her eyes at her side. Lucifer turned back to Carlos, who chuckled sadly, "It looks like your girlfriend is waiting for you to go punish someone else now. That Tierning guy I presume?" Lucifer was shocked and Carlos continued, "Like I said, trade secret. Which I would tell you if you actually trusted me, but you just said that you don't. So it seems we are at an impasse. Our deal is done. I'll leave LA and you won't have to worry about me anymore." "Lucifer!" Eve called out. "Come on! We have a guy to punish!" Carlos chuckled, "Seems like I was right. You are a villain. Just like Mom. So, what are you going to do to this guy? Poison him? Drown him? Bash him in the head? Got any chloroform? But I bet you really don't care how you punish people because you just want to do it and do it now. So go on. Go punish people if that's who you are. Goodbye, Lucifer Morningstar." Carlos turned and walked away. Dude looked up at Lucifer with a sad look on his face and followed Carlos. Lucifer stood there in shock as Eve walked over, "Come on. We have to go. Start up the car." Eve jumped in the front seat as Lucifer watched Carlos drive away on his vespa. Guilt rang through Lucifer as he thought, "Our deal over? But I don't want it to be over. Yes I am upset about the things he is keeping from me, but I went too far. I pushed him away. Like I pushed Chloe away. Maybe Carlos is right. Maybe I am a villain." He got into his car and drove behind Chloe to Jacob Tierning's office.

They arrived and went up to the office and Chloe started her interview with Jacob, "Mr. Tierning, I don't know if you heard but a drug dealer was killed this morning." "What does that have to do with me?" Jacob asked. "Well," Chloe answered. "That's the interesting part. He had the exact same spinal injury as your son. So it would seem that possibly someone is out for revenge." Jacob sighed, "My son worked with a lot of bad people. In fact, Julian wasn't exactly a good person himself, which is why I had to excise him from my business. You love your children, but at a certain point you have to let them…." "Stand on their own two legs," Lucifer interrupted, feeling anger for the man in front of him and guilt for Carlos and Jacob's words were hitting a little too close to home.

Chloe sighed, "Mr. Tierning, do you know a man named Greg Grabowski?" "Goes by thee colorful moniker Pony Boy." Lucifer added. Jacob shook his head as Chloe replied, "Hmm. That's odd, because one of your companies pays his bills." Jacob sighed, "I have a lot of companies paying a lot of people a lot of money. I don't keep track of every penny." Lucifer stood up and walked over saying, "You kept track of your son, though, didn't you? Which is why you consistently bailed him out of jail. Always getting him out of trouble. He never learned, did he? In fact, some might say it's your fault he became a killer, a human trafficker. A broken little doll." Jacob walked over to Lucifer and said, "My son had a lot of friends. Maybe one of them decided to make the piece of garbage who crippled him pay." "Really?" Lucifer said. "Because I had a little chat with Julian right before he shot a police officer in cold blood. He said that you were an even worse person than he was." Eve got up and stood next to Lucifer, "Hmm. That must make you a true monster." "A villain," Lucifer added, using Carlos' words. Jacob glared at Lucifer, "Unless you have actual cause to charge me with something, this little chat is over." "Oh," Lucifer replied. "I'm the Devil, Tierning, I have all the cause I need. Because I am a villain, just like you. And I punish people like you." He glared at the man as his emotions were all over the place going between sadness and anger. "Get out," Jacob coldly demanded. Chloe stood up and said, "Lucifer. He will be punished." She looked down and saw that his grip on the chair he was leaning on was breaking and Chloe said, "Lucifer, stop." "Lucifer, do it," Eve said. Lucifer was having a battle within himself and said, "I should do it. I should prove his words right. Shouldn't I?" Chloe saw a tear drop from one eye and she put her hand on his and said, "Stop." Lucifer then relaxed and said to Jacob, "This isn't over."

The trio went back to LAPD and Eve was trying to keep Lucifer calm, which wasn't working as well as when Chloe calmed him down, as Chloe rambled, "Tierning killed Sam, but we have no proof. So Tierning's gonna double his legal defense now that you've hulked out in his office." Lucifer sighed, "Devil is as devil does." "What about this other guy?" Eve asked. "Uh, Pony Boy." "Pony Boy already posted bail," Chloe answered. "Or Tierning posted it for him," Lucifer angrily retorted. Eve then asked, "You're saying that we don't get to punish anybody? Honey, you promised." Chloe then angrily said, "Can you give us a moment? Thanks."

Chloe picked Lucifer up from his seat and dragged him to a conference room. She leet go and asked, "What the hell is up with you?" Lucifer angrily said, "I finally figured out who I am, that's all." Chloe sighed, "Lucifer, this is not who you are. I think Eve is a bad influence on you." "Now you have a problem with her too," Lucifer replied. "Carlos did too. He said that she affected me. But this has nothing to do with her. It's who I am, I punish people." "So do I," Chloe argued. "But like I said, there is a right way and there is a wrong way." "What makes you the authority on right and wrong?" Lucifer asked. "Because I'm a cop and it's the law," Chloe answered. "Well, I'm the Devil!" Lucifer shouted. "I ruled Hell. Bad people were sent to me so they could get what they deserved. It is my job to do the same here on Earth because when I don't, bad things happen. That is why I broke Julian's back. That is why I am a villain, just like he said. And that is why I won't let Tierning get away with it." Chloe was shocked, "You broke Julian's back. What am I supposed to do with that, Lucifer?" "It's not your place to do anything about it," Lucifer argued. "You wanted to hurt Tierning in his office," Chloe realized. "And that word you used, villain. Who told you that? Carlos? Is that why you two had a heated argument and he left in tears?" "Indeed," Lucifer answered. "He found me at Julian's place. He unleashed his rage at me and called me a villain for what I did. He hated the fact that I am going down this path. And I pushed him away. Like I am pushing you away because you've made it plainly clear that you can't handle who I am. Neither could he." A tear rolled down Lucifer's face as he stormed out of the room, leaving a saddened Chloe.

Back at Jacob Tierning's office, he was told that the police were there again, "I have nothing more to say." Then Dan walked in and said, "I'm here about your son. He didn't just fall down that hill. Someone deliberately broke his back. And I know who it was." 'Why haven't you arrested this man?" Jacob asked. Dan answered, "Because I don't have enough proof to put him in jail, but he needs to be accountable for his actions, and I know you're a powerful man, a man who ruins his enemies." "I'm listening," Jacob replied. "Look," Dan said. "You could finally give him a taste of the punishment he deserves." "What is this man's name?" Jacob asked. "Lucifer Morningstar," Dan answered.

Meanwhile, Chloe and Ella were going through all the evidence and Ella said, "Since we know the murder was personal, I looked back over the autopsy report and I was hoping we could find spit or urine or something we could use to track DNA. It's amazing how many dudes do that. I really don't get why. Do you get why? Anyway, no luck there, but I did notice that one of his fingers was broken. Still post-mortem, but not from the fall. It looks like someone broke his finger to pry a ring off. Probably whoever stole all his money and drugs." Chloe wasn't fully paying attention, and Ella noticed, "Er, you OK?" Chloe then asked, "Do you think there is such a thing as celestial justice? Because if celestial justice does exist, like heaven and hell, then what we've been doing here, say arresting criminals, why even bother? Anyhow, I know you're religious and I thought you may have some thoughts on it." Ella sighed, "Well, I was religious and when I used to believe in all that stuff, I really thought that I was doing my part to uphold right and wrong on Earth and everyone would get their comeuppance eventually but we still needed to keep people safe. But now I believe we are all anybody's got and if we don't hold people accountable, nobody will because heaven and hell, they don't exist." "But what if they do exist?" Chloe asked. "Say, the Devil." "He's not real," Ella argued. "Chloe, look at the Bible. It is so full of contradictions. Fine. Take the Devil, for example. The devil's supposed to be pure evil, right? But he started out as an angel. You can't start good and then turn all evil. I mean, that's what they want us to believe?" "You're right," Chloe whispered. "He's an angel." Ella sighed, "No, my point is that it's all BS." Ella walked out of the lab upset while Chloe stood there with her thoughts.

Carlos drove until he stopped at a park on the way back to Lux with Dude as Dude needed to stop. The two walked for a bit then Dude said when no one was around, "So that's it? You're going to leave this place and go back home just like that? But your friends and Jane said…." "Dude," Carlos interrupted. "You heard my dad. He doesn't trust me and I don't think he ever will. He's going down a dark path that I want no part in. I thought he wouldn't be a villain like my mom based on what I found out about him in recent years but I guess I was wrong." Carlos sat down on a bench next to the playground and sighed, "I tried, Dude. I really did. But if I can't get through to my dad, then what's the point? He's not going to help me anymore. Our deal's over. Since that's all this was to him." "Carlos…" Dude whined. Carlos sighed as he looked up into the sky and quietly sang,

A million thoughts in my head

Should I let my heart keep listening?

I know it's time to say goodbye

So hard to let go….

Tears started to leak from his eyes and Dude put his head at Carlos' feet, sad for his owner and friend.

Just on the other side of the playground, Amenadiel had brought Remiel there to show her good parts of humanity, "This is where I came with the mother of my child right after we found out we were going to be parents. We both realized just how wonderful it would be." "All I see is weakness," Remiel replied. "They're pathetic. If you raise your son surrounded by them, he will become like they are." Amenadiel sighed, "They may be flawed, yes, but so are we and flawed doesn't mean weak." Remiel scoffed, "Sounds like something a weak person would say. Amenadiel, I just want the best for your child. And Lucifer's child." "So do I," Amenadiel replied.

Remiel looked up and said, "I'm taking the baby and the teenager." "No, Remy," Amenadiel replied. "You're not. I will never let you find my child, his mother, or Lucifer's child, wherever he may be." Remiel looked over and saw Carlos sitting on the bench with Dude sitting next to him and smirked, "Too late. I picked up the scent of the mother this morning. And I know where the teenager is. I've listened to you out of respect, Amenadiel, for what you once were. But I'm convinced more than ever of what I need to do." "Remy," Amenadiel told her. "I won't let you take my child or Lucifer's." "Try and stop me," Remiel said. "Maybe I will just start with the teenager since he's right over there." Amenadiel turned around and saw Carlos standing up from the bench and thought, "Carlos? He's Lucifer's son?" But Remiel used that distraction to unfurl her wings and flew off towards Carlos.

Carlos stood and started to walk away with Dude when Remiel stood in front of him. "Um," Carlos said. "Nice get up. But I need to get go…" "You are not going anywhere, son of Lucifer," Remiel replied holding her spear toward Carlos' throat. Carlos' eyes widened as Remiel's wings unfurled behind her. "You know who I am?" Carlos asked. Remiel nodded, "I sensed you months ago, but your scent was coming in and out of existence. I wonder why." Dude stood in front of Carlos and growled at Remiel, who laughed, "Stupid creature. You won't get in the way of me." She went to strike Dude, but Carlos shouted, "Don't touch him!" Remiel felt her body obey, but then said, "So, that's your celestial gift. Persuasion. Good to know." She sped up to Carlos and held him up from the ground by his throat which made him hard to talk or breathe. Remiel noticed the ring around Carlos' neck and ripped it off and said, "So this is how you stayed undetected for so long. I smell magic on this. You are not from this dimension, are you? Probably the dimension Lucifer disappeared to almost 18 years ago."

Carlos' hair turned to its normal white and his eyes started to glow red in anger as Amenadiel landed nearby and shouted, "Let the boy go!" Remiel laughed, "No, brother. He is coming with me and leaving this place for good." "You're hurting him!" Amenadiel shouted. Remiel smirked, "Just to make sure he can't use his gift of persuasion. Only works through voice command, doesn't it?" Carlos was struggling to breathe as Remiel continued, "I can also sense that your celestial side had been dampened but has been slowly growing to where it should be. Maybe I should speed that process up." Remiel's hands started to glow and the power went to Carlos, who started to scream in pain. Amenadiel tried to stop her, but Remiel whacked him with her spear and he went flying. Remiel looked back up at Carlos and stopped the power flow, "That should be enough. Not too much to overwhelm you. Now, time to find the other child."

Dude, knowing that this was an emergency so he could break Carlos' command to not talk, shouted, "Leave him alone!" Remiel looked over at Dude and said, "What? A talking animal?" Carlos used the distraction and raised his hand towards the bench he was sitting on and it lifted in the air and flew right into Remiel, knocking her several feet away and dropping Carlos to the ground, who coughed and groaned in pain. Dude ran over and whispered, "Are you OK?" Carlos nodded as Remiel got up and said, "So, you have more tricks up your sleeve. Interesting. But so do I." She flew over and swung her spear at Carlos, who couldn't block in time as he was still recovering, and the spear cut along his chest and the force threw Carlos into a nearby tree. Carlos felt a couple of his ribs crack and blood start to fill his mouth. He struggled up from the ground as Remiel walked over to him and said, "Enough. Time to end this!" But then Amenadiel rammed into her and she went flying. Amenadiel turned to Carlos and said, "You are safe with me, Carlos. And I think you need to explain yourself." Before Carlos could say anything, Remiel stood up and said, "Fine, I will come back for him later. Maybe I should just go find your son instead."

She then flew off and Carlos said, "Amenadiel, Linda needs protecting now. Go and stop your sister." Amenadiel replied, "But you're hurt…" "Don't worry about me," Carlos said, his powers coming through. "I'll be fine. Go stop your sister. Now!" Amenadiel felt his body obey Carlos' command and he flew off after Remiel. Carlos winced in pain as he felt the celestial power Remiel put in him flow through his body along with his injuries. Fighting through the pain, he picked up his ring off of the ground, put it back around his neck and used thee illusion spell on his hair, stood tall and said, "Come on, Dude. We are going to head back to Lux to get the rest of my stuff and then we are heading back to Auradon. Come on." "But Carlos," Dude whined. "You're hurt. I don't know what that angel lady did to you, but…" "Come on!" Carlos shouted as he started to walk away, and Dude reluctantly followed.

Meanwhile, dusk had fallen and Linda was walking to her car from her office. She thought she heard something behind her and started to walk faster. The noises got louder and Linda hid in an alley. But then she felt someone tap her shoulder and she gasped and turned to see Maze standing there, "Oh, my. Maze." "What is it?" Maze asked, as she noticed that Linda was scared about something. "I thought someone was following me," Linda answered. "Who?" Maze asked. "You," Linda answered. "You are following me. Why are you following me?" Maze answered, "I'm protecting you when you leave the house." Linda sighed, "Don't you have anything else to do? Like hunting bounty." "I cleared my entire schedule," Maze revealed. "I am never leaving your side." Linda replied, "I told you that I don't need you to always be around. I need you to back off." "But," Maze argued. "How else am I supposed to protect our baby?" "Our?" Linda replied. "Maze, this isn't….I just need some space. OK?" "Sure," Maze said. "Since we're here, do you want to grab a coconut water?" Linda sighed again.

But Linda wasn't actually crazy about someone following her. The sounds she heard were angel wings as Amenadiel had caught up to Remiel and threw her into an underground cave and shouted, "I will never let you anywhere near Linda, my son, or Carlos." Remiel stood up and chuckled, "Who's gonna stop see? You?" Amenadiel sighed, "There's only one way to find out." Remiel smirked, broke her spear in half, threw it to Amenadiel, and said, "Can't have anyone saying it wasn't a fair fight." She charged in and the fight started, Remiel saying, "I'm not going to let you raise the baby here, or Lucifer's son, where everything special about them will be leached away. At least I put the special back into Carlos. Maybe I should do the same to your son." Amenadiel guarded and said, "He will be special because he's raised here! And Carlos has survived here for almost 18 years and he already was special. And he will continue to be raised here with my son. With their family." "Funny," Remiel scoffed. "I thought I was your family." Remiel threw Amenadiel into a wall and pointed her spear at him, while he shouted, "You are my family, Remy. But this is my son! And our nephew!"

He pushed Remiel back and they clashed blades. Remiel threw Amenadiel into another wall, but Amenadiel struck her hard to the ground and held his spear to her throat and said, "Earth hasn't made me weak, Remy. It's made me stronger." Amenadiel threw the spear to the side and helped Remiel stand up, who said, "A true warrior admits their defeat." "So you'll respect my wishes and leave my son and Carlos alone?" "I will," Remiel replied. "Reluctantly. But be careful brother. I still fear one day you'll come to regret your decision. As for Carlos, I was truthful when I said that his celestial side had been weakened and was slowly coming back. His magical side, which I am guessing comes from his mother, makes him stronger than a normal human. Thus making his celestial side even stronger, probably stronger than your son will be. I gave his celestial side more power to help that side of him awaken. Watch over him if Lucifer won't." She unfurled her wings and flew away, leaving Amenadiel with a lot to think about. First, he needed to locate Carlos to see if he is OK.

Chloe was pacing in her apartment trying to call Linda, "Hey Linda, it's Chloe. So I'm calling because I'm a little worried about Lucifer, and through that you might know what's going on with him. And I am also worried about Carlos. He ran off after a fight with Lucifer and I want to make sure he's OK. When you get a chance, call me back. Thanks." Trixie was working on her homework and overheard her mom talk about Lucifer and Carlos, so she asked, "What's wrong with Lucifer and Carlos? Are they OK?" Chloe sat down and said, "Yeah, they are OK. They just had a moment and they are going through something right now." Trixie replied, "Don't you always say that when somebody's going through something, that's when they need their friends the most?" Chloe smiled, "You know what? You're right, monkey. But I'm just not sure that I'm the friend that Lucifer needs right now. And I don't think Carlos trusts me enough to be a friend for him. You do your homework." She kissed Trixie on the head and walked away, leaving Trixie to come up with a plan.

Carlos made it back to Lux barely as his pain was becoming worse. It felt like his bones and muscles were shifting inside him as he parked his vespa and dragged himself off of it and walked dizzily to the elevator. Dude jumped off and ran after him, "Carlos, you need help. You're not looking so good." "I'm fine, Dude," Carlos lied. "I just need to grab my stuff and leave before Lucifer notices. Not like he cares anyway." Carlos' vision started to become hazy as he got into the elevator and mumbled, "I feel weird though." He then slumped to the ground and fell unconscious. Dude ran into the elevator and shouted, "Carlos! Wake up! Please." Dude looked around and saw the elevator buttons. Hoping that Lucifer was up in the penthouse, he jumped up and hit the penthouse button with his nose and the elevator doors closed.

Up in the penthouse, Lucifer was going over ideas of how to punish Jacob, even though he was still having his internal struggle after his argument with Carlos, "I could tie Tierning to the anchor of one of his ships. Or a million paper cuts from his own hundred dollar bills. Or, you know, actually, I know a man who owns an emu farm. They're surprisingly bloodthirsty animals." Eve groaned, "Just pick a punishment and let's go. What's the hold up?" "All in good time, my darling," Lucifer replied, downing his drink. Eve sighed and looked up at Lucifer, "I think you're stalling. Because of Chloe. And because of Carlos. They are both bad influences on you." Lucifer scoffed, "This has nothing to do with the Detective or Carlos. It's just better when you punish them properly." Eve stood up, "Lucifer, I just want you to be the best version of yourself. You know? That devil I met in the garden. I held myself back for so long and I can see you doing the same because of her and because of that boy. I think that they are both a little too involved in your life." "That is preposterous," Lucifer lied. "And you don't have to worry about Carlos anymore. He made it clear that our deal is over. He called me a villain and that is what I'll be. He's gone and he's never coming back." Eve noticed the sad look on Lucifer's face, but didn't say anything as she was happy that Carlos was gone.

They heard the elevator doors open behind them and Lucifer looked behind him and dropped his drink at the sight of Carlos unconscious on the floor and Dude whimpering next to him. "Carlos!" Lucifer shouted as he ran over and saw the state Carlos was in. Eve walked over and saw Carlos and asked, "What happened to him?" "He was attacked," Dude answered and Lucifer and Eve had shocked looks on their faces as Eve muttered, "That dog just talked." "You can talk?" Lucifer asked. Dude nodded, "Yes, I'm a talking dog. Now get over it and help him." Lucifer got over his shock and picked Carlos up and walked him over to the couch and placed him on it. He felt his forehead and said, "He's burning up. Eve, go get a towel from the bathroom and run it under cold water and bring it to me." Eve looked at Carlos and even though she hated the boy, she felt sorry for the state he was in.

She complied and ran to get the towel as Lucifer asked, "What happened?" "We were at the park," Dude answered. "We were about to come back here to get the rest of his stuff and head home, but then this crazy lady with wings showed up and did something to him and threw him into a tree. I don't know how he managed to make it back here as he's in more pain than he let on. When we reached the elevator, he passed out. I pushed the button to get the elevator here hoping that you would help him. Please help him. I don't want to lose him." Lucifer looked back at Carlos as Eve ran back in with the towel and Lucifer took it and placed it on Carlos' head. Lucifer wondered aloud, "Lady with wings….that must have been one of my sisters. But which one and why were they here?"

Carlos then started to moan in pain and mumble, "No. Please, Mom. Stop. You're hurting me." "What's happening?" Eve asked. "He's having a nightmare," Dude answered. "About his mom. Wicked woman. He must be reliving a horrible memory from his past." Carlos suddenly screamed in pain as several artifacts around the room broke and the room vibrated under his power. Eve looked around at the carnage and muttered, "Oh, wow." Dude shouted at Lucifer, "You need to calm him down. Talk to him in a soothing voice. It helps. Here. I'll jump on top of him to stop him moving." Dude jumped up and sat right on Carlos' chest to help calm him down. Lucifer still looked unsure of what to do as he hated seeing Carlos like this.

Suddenly they heard the elevator doors open again and in walked Trixie. Eve asked, "Who's that?" Lucifer answered, "That is the Detective's offspring." Trixie was about to say how cool the penthouse looked, she looked over and saw Carlos on the couch and ran over to him, "Carlos! What's wrong with him?" "That's what we're trying to figure out. Right now I am trying to calm him down. He's having a nightmare in his unconscious state." Carlos kept mumbling words like, "Mom, stop. It hurts. Make it stop. Don't hurt me, please." Trixie then grabbed one of Carlos' hands and said, "Carlos, it's OK. Your mom isn't here. You're safe." Lucifer was surprised and Trixie explained, "I had nightmares after that Malcolm guy incident. This is what Mom would do to calm me from a nightmare." She rubbed Carlos' hand and Carlos started to calm down and he mumbled, "Jane. Is that you?" Lucifer, Eve, and Trixie were confused but Trixie said, "It's Trixie. Please wake up."

And surprisingly, Carlos' eyes opened and looked around, "What….How did I get up here?" "You have your dog to thank for that," Lucifer answered, not revealing any more since Trixie was now here. Carlos looked over and saw Trixie, "Hey." Trixie smiled, "Glad to see that you're OK. Who's Jane?" Carlos blushed and said, "My girlfriend." Lucifer sighed, "A boring name. Even the Detective knows that but that's her middle name. Speaking of which, Trixie, does your mother know you're here?" "Yes," Trixie lied. Lucifer sighed, "I will talk to you more in a minute, child, but I need to talk to Carlos for a minute. Eve, can you please take Trixie out on the balcony for a little bit. I want to speak to Carlos alone." Eve sighed but did as she was told and took Trixie out to the balcony.

Lucifer kneeled next to Carlos and said, "Your dog, who can talk apparently, told me that you were attacked by my sister. Care to explain?" Carlos sighed as he struggled to sit up after Dude moved over, "It all happened so fast. I stopped at the park after our fight at LAPD to walk Dude and right as I was leaving, this angel, your sister apparently, stopped me, held me by the throat, and said that she was taking me somewhere. And she did something to me, I don't really know what, but it was bright, and it hurt like hell. Amenadiel was there and chased after her after I got her off of me." "Why would my sister want to take you away?" Lucifer asked. "Maybe because of what I am," Carlos answered as he groaned in pain as the power he mentioned worked its way through him. "Don't worry about me. Just give me a minute and I'll be out of here for good like I said."

Lucifer stopped him and said, "Carlos, I wanted to apologize. I didn't mean what I said earlier today. I do trust you, even though I wish you would open up more to me. And you were wrong. Not about my actions, as I know that I am acting like my old self lately, but about me not caring about you. I do care about you, Carlos. I may not like kids, but you have become the only exception. Even over the spawn sitting out there right now. And I don't want you to leave. This is your home too. And I want to still help and train you, and figure out who you are meant to be. You were also trying to help me and be there for me and I didn't realize that then but I do now. I know that my recent actions have been hurtful to you, but I want to prove to you that I am not a villain, not like your mother. Yes I punish people, but I have been battling with myself about the way I've been doing it and I've been trying to figure out if this is the right path for me. So I am asking for you to be patient with me and I'll be more patient with you. I want you to stay. Please." Carlos started to tear up and hugged Lucifer, who was startled then hugged Carlos back. Carlos winced in pain and Lucifer said, "You still need to rest. We can finish this discussion later.

He motioned for Eve to bring Trixie back in here and Trixie ran over and sat next to Carlos and hugged him. Dude whined next to Carlos and Trixie reached over and pet him, with Carlos signaling to Dude to stay quiet and not talk, which Lucifer caught. Eve stood next to Lucifer and Lucifer asked, "Trixie, thank you for helping with Carlos. Now, what are you doing here?" Trixie sighed, "I came here to make sure you're OK. My mom said you needed a friend. And it seems that Carlos needs one too. But it looks like you already have some, Lucifer." She glared at Eve, who chuckled awkwardly.

Back at Chloe's house, she was going over some paperwork when Dan came in and asked, "Hey, Trixie ready?" Chloe called out, "Trix, Dad's here." Dan walked up and asked, "How's the case going?" Chloe sighed, "We know who the killer is but we don't have proof." "Who is it?" Dan asked. Chloe answered, "Julian's dad, Jacob Tierning." Dan suddenly got a little pale, "Jacob Tierning. What, he killed somebody?" Chloe sighed, "He thought that Sam was the one who broke Julian's back, so simple revenge motive." "You're sure about that?" Dan asked. "I mean, I didn't think he was capable of that." Chloe got up and went to Trixie's room and was shocked to see that Trixie was gone. "Dan!" Chloe shouted and Dan ran into the bedroom. "Trixie snuck out and went to Lucifer's." "What?" Dan was shocked. "We'v got to go find her. Now."

Meanwhile, back at Lucifer's penthouse, Trixie was still sitting next to Carlos, who was slowly healing from his injuries from Remiel, although his body was still reacting to the celestial power she gave him. Eve was sitting in a chair nearby and Lucifer was pouring himself another drink. Trixie had started to ask Eve several questions, "Where do you live?" "Here," Eve answered. "With Lucifer and Carlos?" Trixie asked. "Just Lucifer," Eve said. "Carlos stays on the guest suite a floor below us." Trixie looked over at Carlos and asked, "Is this true?" Carlos nodded, "Yep. Lucifer set it up for me when I started living here. It's nice." Lucifer smirked at that answer as Trixie continued, "Where are you from?" "Far away," Eve answered. "I came here for Lucifer." "Keep the commentary to yourself, lady," Trixie retorted, which made Carlos chuckle softly. "Have you ever been married?" "Yes, it didn't work out." "How come?" "We weren't right for each other." "What do you do for work?" "I don't. Pretty much just get to be me." "What's your favorite color?" "Red, what's yours?" "I'm asking the questions." Lucifer sighed, "Would you excuse m whilst I do something less mind-numbingly boring like continuing my talk with Carlos?" "Later," Carlos said. "I'm actually enjoying this." Trixie giggled while Eve scowled a bit at Carlos. Lucifer sighed and stood up, "Then I will go color sort my suits."

As Lucifer walked away, Trixie asked Eve, "Are you the kind of friend Lucifer needs right now?" Lucifer paused for a moment then walked into the bedroom as Eve answered, "I hope so. I care about him very much. He's the most important person to me. And I hope it's the same for him." Trixie didn't like that answer, so she turned to Carlos and asked, "Are you the friend Lucifer needs right now?" Carlos smiled and said, "I think so. But my connection to him is something else. Something he doesn't even know yet." Eve tilted her head to the side in confusion.

They heard the elevator doors open and saw two gunmen walk out. Eve quickly stood and shouted, "Lucifer!" Carlos struggled to stand quickly and pulled Trixie behind him as Dude whimpered. One of the two gunmen was Pony Boy, who said, "I didn't think there'd be anyone else here, but can't have any witnesses." He pointed the gun at Eve, but Carlos glared at him as his eyes turned red and said, "Freeze." Both gunmen froze as Carlos told Eve, "Take Trixie and Dude out to the balcony. Now!" Eve obeyed and rushed Trixie and Dude out to the balcony. Carlos looked back at Pony Boy and commanded, "You and your friend will not shoot anyone tonight." Pony Boy tried to pull the trigger, but he couldn't move his finger. Suddenly they heard a glass breaking as Lucifer broke a glass over the other gunman's head and dragged him into the bedroom. Pony Boy shook with fear as Carlos said, "I think I'll let him do the rest. Maybe this will prove to me that he'll be true to his word." Lucifer then jumped out of the bedroom and Pony Boy tried to shoot him, but couldn't, so he throw his gun at Lucifer and some glasses on the counter, but nothing affected Lucifer, who knocked Pony Boy to the ground. "What are you?" Pony Boy shouted. Lucifer knelt down and crushed Pony Boy's hand and said, "Tierning sent you, didn't he?"

Pony Boy nodded just as the elevator doors opened again and Chloe and Dan ran out with some officers and Dan shouted, "Where's Trixie?" "She's safe," Carlos answered. "She's just out on the balcony." Eve opened the door to the balcony and Trixie ran through, "Mommy! Daddy!" Chloe hugged her, "Monkey, you're OK. I love you, honey." Trixie hugged her dad, then ran over and hugged Carlos and whispered, "Thank you." Carlos hugged her back, while wincing in pain.

The cops took the two gunmen away, Dan took Trixie to his house, and Chloe found Lucifer out on the balcony. Lucifer had sent Carlos down with Dude to the guest suite so he could rest and Eve was standing nearby. Chloe walked out to see Lucifer and Lucifer said, "I hope you know I would do anything to protect that little urchin. Like I would with Carlos." "I know," Chloe said. "I know that you somehow made up with Carlos, hence why he's back here. I owe him my thanks too. But I also know what you're thinking of doing to Tierning. Especially now." "And you, Detective," Lucifer replied. "Don't you want to punish him? He almost killed your child." "Yes," Chloe said. "I do, yeah. But I'm gonna do it by following the rules because I believe in right and wrong and deep down I think that you do too. You're the devil. But you're also an angel." Lucifer sighed, "I'm not sure that I am an angel anymore." "What do you mean?" Chloe asked. Lucifer sighed, "After I killed Piercee when my devil face returned I used my wings to fly once about two months after that incident. They were fine, but they felt off. If I had given one of those feathers to Carlos instead of a feather from before Pierce was killed, I don't think it would work on anybody. I haven't checked them since then and it's been months. I'm afraid that they're gone. Disappeared over these past few months. Or worse. Especially after what I've been doing. For good reason." Chloe then said, "Well, you know, I think you should look. Maybe you'll be surprised at what you find. Because you're not a villain like what Carlos called you."

Eve then came out and said, "The police are done." Chloe sighed and held onto Lucifer's hand before walking over and whispering to Eve, "Thank you for Trixie." Eve replied, "You're welcome." Chloe walked away and out of the penthouse. Eve turned to Lucifer and asked, "We're going to get this guy, right? I mean, we've been looking for the worst of the worst. Here it is." Lucifer sighed, "You're right. It's time for Tierning to get what he deserves, but I need to do this on my own. It's important to me." Eve nodded but stopped Lucifer as he was walking away, "You know, I only want us…you to be happy." Lucifer sighed, looking at his reflection in the window, and walked away. He needed to make a stop before he went after Tierning. And he needed to take Chloe's advice and look at his wings, which he did on the way down to Carlos.

Carlos was on his bed in the guest suite with Dude beside him. He had pulled out thee potion Mal gave him and swallowed a single drop and felt his injuries from bing thrown into a tree start to heal. But the celestial power was still working through him, but the potion helped with the pain. He heard the elevator door try to open. Sighing, Carlos waved his hand and let the doors open. Lucifer stepped out and walked over, "How are you feeling?" "Well," Carlos answered. "My ribs are healing and my head is feeling better, but whatever your sister put in me is still there. It's not as bad, but I can still feel it." Carlos noticed that Lucifer seemed worried about something and seemed afraid of something as Lucifer sighed, "I will find out who did this and why, but first, I wanted to let you know that I am going after Tierning, the man who sent those gunmen." Carlos struggled to sit up and asked, "Are you going to punish him?" Lucifer nodded, "Yes." "In what way?" Carlos asked. Lucifer sighed, "The right way. You were right along with the Detective, about me going on a dark path. I promised you that I wouldn't be a villain, and…." "Stop," Carlos said. "This is good. You are listening to your heart and you know that you are a good man. You are not a monster as I thought. Not even a villain, like my mom. So now I trust that you will do the right thing." Lucifer nodded, "Thank you. For trusting me. Now, time to find where that monster is hiding."

Lucifer, determined to bring justice, turned to walk away but Carlos said, "I can find him for you." Lucifer turned and saw Carlos pull out a small mirror from his jacket making Lucifer confused. Carlos explained, "Since I am trusting you, then it's only fair that I share some of that. You correctly said that I come from a place of magic. This is how I keep an eye on you, on everything. If you know your fairy tales, you should have an idea of what this is." Lucifer walked over as Carlos said, "Mirror, mirror in my hand, where does Tierning stand?" The mirror showed Jacob in his office working late, "He's at his office, it looks like. You can find him there." Lucifer stared at the mirror and asked, "A magic mirror? Now I have more questions to ask you, starting with your dog and now this mirror." "And I'll answer them," Carlos said. "But later. Go get this guy." Lucifer nodded and left.

Carlos sighed as he laid back in bed. A few minutes later, he felt pain shoot up his spine and he screamed. Dude sat up, "What's wrong?" "It's my back," Carlos whimpered. "It's on fire. Like something is happening to it. Why?" He cried out again as he felt the bones and muscles in his back and shoulders shift around, Dude whimpering and wondering what was happening. Carlos felt the ring around his neck straining to maintain the illusion spell so Carlos ripped it off and his white hair returned, but that caused the pain to increase and Carlos cringed in pain and passed out.

Over at LAPD, Chloe and Dan were interrogating Pony Boy, "We have you dead to rights on attempted murder." Dan added, "So if you don't help us take down who really killed Sam Zofrelli, well, it was your golden gun used on the murder so you might be looking pretty damn good for that, too." Pony Boy sighed, "Look, I love Julian. That's why I wanted to be the one to kill Sam. But Julian's an idiot. He gets into trouble all the time, owed Sam a bunch of money." Chloe asked, "Is that why Tierning thought Sam was the one to break Julian's spine?" Pony Boy answered, "Tierning wouldn't give Julian any money to pay back Sam. So Julian had to give Sam whatever he could, his car, his watch, family heirlooms." "Family heirlooms?" Chloe asked. "Yeah," Pony Boy replied. "It pissed Tierning off, but he still loved the kid. He's his son after all. But even after all that, Julian still couldn't come up with enough to pay back Sam." Dan said, "Right, so after Julian's spine was broken, Tierning thought Sam must have been the one who did it, asked for the gun, and then got revenge himself?" Pony Boy sighed, "Too bad somebody else crippled Julian." "What do you mean?" Chloe asked. Pony Boy answered, "Tierning found out Lucifer did it. That's why he sent me to kill him." "We thought that Tierning was upset because of Lucifer's behavior in the office," Dan lied. "Where did he get the idea that Lucifer was the one to break his back?" Chloe asked. "No idea," Pony Boy revealed. Chloe sighed, "All right. You said family heirlooms, right? Would that also include a family ring?"

Meanwhile, Jacob Tierning just got off the phone and asked one of his men, "Have you heard from Pony Boy?" "Not yet," the man replied. Jacob sighed, "It's time to get to the jet. Leave town for a while." The man nodded and left the room as Jacob stood to gather some things, but then he heard a loud crash and shouted, "What the hell was that?" Lucifer then walked out and said, "Hello again, Tierning. I told you this wasn't over." Lucifer threw two chairs across the room as he walked up to Jacob, "Finally. It's time for you to receive the punishment that you deserve." His eyes glowed red as Jacob shook with fear.

Chloe and Dan were going over what Pony Boy told them, "What about that ring?" Chloe shook her head, "No, the ring that Tierning had on had a family crest on it." Ella was with them and asked, "Do you guys really think he would wear it after taking it off a dead body?" Chloe replied, "It was a family ring, so I think Tierning saw it as something that was taken from him. So if we can prove that Sam had the ring on his finger before he was killed, and that it's now on Tierning's hand, we can arrest him. Before anyone else gets to him." "I think I found it," Dan said as he pulled up a picture of Sam with the family ring. "Yes, that's it," Chloe replied. "Taken before the night he was killed," Ella commented. "Let's go get him," Chloe said.

She was about to walk out but saw Lucifer walking in with Jacob. Chloe walked to Lucifer who said to an officer, "Flanders. I believe you're looking for this man." The officer took Jacob away and Lucifer said to Chloe, "I happened to be walking past Tierning's office, and I overheard him talking about leaving town. As a concerned citizen, I felt it was my civic duty to bring him in, so he can properly face the punishment he deserves." Chloe then asked, "Why did you do it?" Lucifer sighed, "Something, or rather someone, made me realize I might have gone a bit too far recently. Almost acting like a villain. Hopefully it's not too late." He turned to walk away and Chloe said, "You looked. Didn't you? At your wings." Lucifer then lied, "I did." "You did the right thing, Lucifer," Chloe replied. "It's never too late for that." Lucifer smiled and walked out of LAPD.

At Linda's house, Linda walked into the kitchen to get some tea, and she thought she heard something and said, "Maze? What are you doing?" Maze came out of her hiding spot and said, "Giving you your space." Linda sighed, "I know your heart's in the right place and it makes men happy knowing my son's Auntie Maze is in his corner but I have to ask. Are you in love with me?" Maze laughed, "What? I mean, you do have that good things come from small packages vibe about you. But, no, we're just friends." Linda chuckled, "That's what I thought! You know, Maze, I think you're looking for something more than what this baby or I can be. I think you're looking for your own connection. For a partner." Maze didn't know how to answer that as Linda's phone went off and Linda saw that it was a text from Lucifer asking her to come to Lux right away. Linda looked up and asked, "You could come with me to Lux. Watch my back for a bit." Maze nodded, but still a little upset at what Linda said.

Back at LAPD, Ella was going through some things in her lab and Dan walked in, "Hey." Ella turned to him, "Oh, hey." Dan walked up to her and said, "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." Ella shook her head, "Oh, no, it's fine." "Working pretty late tonight," Dan commented. Ella chuckled, "Oh, yeah, I was just wrapping up." Dan asked, "Hey, Ella, do you ever feel just completely…" "Lost?" Ella finished. "Yeah," Dan said. "You want to talk about it?" "No," Ella replied. "No, honestly, not really. You want to talk about it?" "No," Dan answered. "But I just don't know what to do, you know." Ella sighed, "Well, I don't recommend a downward spiral into drugs and alcohol. Tried that, did not help." They both laughed, then looked down to see their fingers touching each other. They looked at each other and started to make out, leading to some sexy times.

Meanwhile, Chloe went to the jail to see Father Kinley, who saw her and said, "Detective Decker. Thank you for coming." Chloe sighed, "I only came to tell you to stop putting in requests to call and speak to me. We have nothing to talk about." Kinley then stood up, "I'm sorry. I don't have much time. They're going to transfer me back to Rome, to be tried there." Chloe replied, "I can't say I'm sad to see you go." "There's something you need to know," Kinley said but Chloe interrupted, "No, there is something you need to know. You were wrong about Lucifer. He is a good man. One might say that he's even an angel."

Linda and Maze made it to Lux and Linda said, "Wait down here, Maze. I'll be back shortly." Maze nodded and Linda went up to the penthouse. Maze stood there for a few minutes and then Amenadiel walked in and Maze said, "Amenadiel. What are you doing here?" "Looking for Carlos," Amenadiel said. "I need to check on him. My sister came here and…" "Sister?" Maze asked. "Which one?" "Remiel," Amenadiel answered. "She wanted to take my son and she wanted Carlos. And she did something to Carlos before I could stop her." "What?" Maze asked but Amenadiel said, "We need to get to the guest level." "What about Linda?" Maze asked. "She's with Lucifer right now." "Later," Amenadiel said. "Right now, Carlos is my main concern."

Linda arrived at the penthouse, "Lucifer? I came over as soon as I got your text. It's late. Is everything OK?" She found Lucifer sitting on the couch, "You have to help me, doctor. I don't want to be a monster. I don't want to be a villain." "What's wrong?" Linda asked. "It's my wings," Lucifer answered. "I hadn't checked them for months, not since I showed them to Carlos right after he first arrived. And after everything that happened since then, since Pierce, since my devil face returned, I was afraid they might have gone. I was afraid what that might mean. What that might say about me. But earlier this evening I looked." "And?" Linda asked. "They're still there," Lucifer revealed. "That's good," Linda replied. "Isn't it?"

"I need to warn you about the prophecy," Father Kinley told Chloe. "Prophecy?" Chloe asked. Kinley nodded, "You see, I thought that the prophecy was about you, Chloe. Or at least part of it. But I realize now that I could have been wrong. If it's not you, then who else could be Lucifer's first love?"

Lucifer stood up and said to Linda, "I saw them. It was bad. It was really bad."

Father Kinley looked at Chloe and realized, "You know who it is, don't you? Is she here?"

Lucifer started to pace, "I thought I could fix it so I didn't hurt him. I stopped myself. So I don't understand why. Why?" "Why what?" Linda asked.

Father Kinley smiled, "I just need you to hear the prophecy." Chloe sighed, "All right." Father Kinley recited, "When the Devil walks the Earth and finds his first love and heir…."

"Why are they still like this?" Lucifer shouted at Linda.

"Evil shall be released," Kinley finished.

Lucifer unfurled his wings to show that they had transformed into demon wings, shocking Linda.

Meanwhile, Amenadiel and Maze made it up to the guest suite and found Carlos lying in bed on his stomach as he was cringing in pain. Amenadiel ran over and asked, "Carlos, what's wrong?" "It's my back," Carlos muttered weakly. "It hurts. It feels like something is growing and trying to get out." Maze saw two large bumps near his shoulder blades and whispered, "What the hell? And why is his hair white with dark roots?" Amenadiel put his hands on Carlos' back, which made the boy cry out, and Amenadiel said, "I think I know what's going on. Maze get out your demon blades. Now."

Chloe then asked Kinley, "You said that Lucifer's first love was only part of the prophecy. You also mentioned an heir. What are you talking about?" Kinley smirked, "I thought you were smarter than that, Detective. The heir is the son of the Devil."

Maze pulled out two of her demon blades and said, "OK. Now what?" Amenadiel looked at her and said, "I need you to cut identical lines on Carlos' back, where these bumps are forming. Something is trying to get out, right between his shoulder blades. They need out, now." "What?" Carlos meekly asked. "Please don't hurt me." "It's OK," Amenadiel said. "This will be over quickly. If we don't get out what's in your back, then your pain will increase and more harm will come to you. Trust me." Carlos meekly nodded as Dude huddled closer to him and whispered, "Help him." Maze looked at Dude and asked, "He has a talking dog?" "Later," Amenadiel said. "Do it, Maze. Now!"

"You're wrong," Chloe said. "Lucifer doesn't have a son. Angels can't have children. Unless…" Kinley smirked, "Unless something happens to them to make them less celestial and more mortal. And I have seen the boy with my own eyes. And something tells me that you have to. You just don't realize it. His heir is here, and along with the first love, evil shall be released. Admit it. You know who his son is." Chloe realized, "Carlos."

Maze swiped her blades down onto Carlos and cut two identical lines in Carlos' back, right in the middle of the bumps there. Amenadiel then pulled Maze back as two angel wings came out of Carlos' back, one wing with white feathers, and one wing with black feathers. Maze stared at them in horror and asked, "What is going on? What does this mean?" Amenadiel answered, "It means that Remiel was right. Carlos is Lucifer's son. His heir." Maze looked at Carlos in shock as Dude whimpered next to Carlos, who looked up at Amenadiel and Maze, then saw himself in a mirror nearby and saw the wings and said, "What the….."
