Chloe was walking around LAPD, looking in various rooms when Ella walked up to her and asked, "Looking for something?" Chloe turned around and said, "Oh! Hi. Huh? Oh, just Lucifer." Ella sighed, "Aw, sweetie, it's come to this? Full-on delusions. We are gonna get through this. I promise." Ella hugged Chloe and Chloe said, "It's fine. He really is back." Chloe pushed away and said, "I saw him yesterday, and there's a new case, so…" "Wait," Ella interrupted. "Lucifer's back? Like, seriously back? Let's see on my phone. Full bars, battery's charged, but no texts or messages. Awesome. Not surprised, though. He didn't tell me when he left. Why would he tell me when he's back?" Chloe sighed, "Ella, I know you're bummed at him, and you have reason, but he also had a really good reason for leaving so suddenly. And while he's been gone, he's sort of been through Hell. So, you know, if you could just cut him a little bit of slack." Ella replied, "I guess it would be nice to have good ol' Lucifer around again. I mean, I missed him, you know. I don't miss him like you miss him, 'cause I don't find him attractive. He's like my brother. OK. Um, does Carlos know that his dad is back?" Chloe nodded, "I called him last night and told him, but he couldn't talk for long as he was still at his friend's wedding, so maybe I'll call him again later and see if he might come back to see his dad." But Chloe hid the fact that she still felt that something was off about Lucifer.
And she had a right to be, as FakeLucifer was standing in the penthouse looking at the mirror practicing lines he would say to people, especially Chloe, in his Lucifer voice. He chuckled darkly as he felt that this would be a success.
In Auradon, it was the day after Mal and Ben's wedding. Mal and Ben went off on their honeymoon, Evie went back to her house and went back to working on her fashion line with her boyfriend Doug, and Jay went traveling again with Gil. Carlos was sitting on the cliffside looking out at the sea, thinking about the call he got from Chloe the night before. She said that his dad was back, but she also said that something felt off about him. Carlos didn't talk to her more as he said that he needed to go back to the reception and he needed time to process this. He was still trying to process it but he thought, "Why hasn't Dad let me know that he's no longer in Hell? He would have contacted me himself. Maybe Chloe's right. Something about this seems off."
He heard Jane walk up behind him and Jane asked, "You OK?" "Yeah," Carlos said. "Just thinking." "About what?" Jane asked. "Is it about your dad again?" "Kind of," Carlos revealed. "Chloe called me last night and told me that my dad returned to LA, but she also said he seemed different. I couldn't talk to her more about it as I was still at the wedding, but that is making me think about what she said. If my dad was out of Hell, he would have come to see me and he hasn't." "That's true," Jane commented. "You did give him that stone I gave you so he can come here any time he wishes." "Indeed," Carlos said. "So I was going to text Chloe and ask her to call me back so we can discuss this further before I go to LA and see for myself." "Why?" Jane asked. Carlos sighed, "Because there could be a chance that whoever Chloe saw wasn't actually my dad."
Chloe meanwhile was at the Mars Project site as another murder victim was found, "So, Judy Mason?" Ella nodded, "Yeah, Poor Judy. She was a biochemist and a commander of the Red 2 Mars Project, a simulation, engineered by the fine folks at Brody Aerospace." "Uh," Chloe replied. "As in Anders Brody? The tech billionaire? We talked to him last year on a case. The guy had a boat." "Yeah," Ella agreed. "Guy has a spaceship, too. He rich! And so is the entire crew on this project, actually. Judy was the only scientist. The other five were just civilians who paid buttloads for a spot on the Red Planet. I mean, Brody himself is going to take them to be the first Mars Colony. I mean, that is if test go according to plan." "This doesn't look like part of the plan," Chloe commented. Ella shook her head, "Nope, Judy was stabbed in the neck. There's an apple and this hair, which was stuck in that bloody footprint. I checked everyone's suits but couldn't find any blood. The killer must have cleaned it, because, since no one's allowed in or out of the dome, it had to be one of those five. So we got ourselves a locked door mystery mi amiga." Chloe replied, "All right. And the cameras, did they capture anything?" "Yeah," Ella said. "But most of the footage has already been wiped." Chloe sighed, "OK. Well, I got to talk to the crew, and I'm gonna head back to the precinct."
"Hello, Detective." Chloe turned and saw FakeLucifer standing there, "Lucifer. Hi, I was looking everywhere for you." FakeLucifer smirked, "Well, here I am, and there's nowhere I'd rather be, so…" Ella suddenly ran over and hit Lucifer, "I can't believe you left and didn't even say goodbye! You just ran off to Florida and forgot about us." FakeLucifer looked over at Chloe, who gave FakeLucifer a look of "Just go with it" and FakeLucifer responded, "Oh, yes. Yes, I was in Florida. My mother was terribly ill." Ella retorted, "You said you had to take over the family business." FakeLucifer nodded, "Indeed. My mother was ill, which is why I had to take over the business. But Florida is wretched. Far too many creepy-crawlies, and no Ms. Lopez." Ella suddenly smiled, "Oh, I can't stay mad at you! But hey. No mas of that mierda, OK?" "No mas," FakeLucifer promised. Ella pulled him into a hug and to Chloe's surprise, he eagerly returned the hug.
Ella walked away and Chloe glared slightly at FakeLucifer, who asked, "Detective, what's wrong?" Chloe dragged Lucifer into the hallway and said, "You just lied to her." "Uh, no," FakeLucifer countered. "You did. I just kept up the ruse." "You never lie," Chloe argued. FakeLucifer sighed, "Remember, Detective, for you, I was only gone for two months. But for me, I was in Hell for thousands of years. A few things might have changed, maybe even improved. After all, a little white lie could be quite beneficial." Suddenly Dan walked past them and said, "Oh. You're back. Great." FakeLucifer whispered, "For example." He turned and shouted, "Daniel. It's really, really good to see you, and you're looking exceptional, by the way." He held out his hand for Dan to shake, who was shocked but did as FakeLucifer commented, "Oh, I love your bracelet. Did you make that?" Dan shook his head, "No, it's amethyst. Cleansing my chakra." FakeLucifer smirked, "Well, good luck with that." Dan smiled, "Thanks, man." and walked away. FakeLucifer turned to Chloe and said, "See? Lucifer 2.0."
Chloe still felt unsure, so after they finished up at the Mars Project, she went alone to Linda's office to see her. Linda was surprised, "Lucifer's back? What?" Chloe nodded, "Yes, it's amazing. I am happy. I'm ecstatic." Chloe sat down and Linda sat down too, "And we're sitting. What's wrong?" Chloe sighed, "Uh, well, it's probably nothing, but Lucifer's acting different." "Different how?" Linda asked. "I don't know," Chloe replied. "I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I told him I loved him right before he left, and he didn't exactly say it back. But he did say "It was you, Chloe. It was always you." Which is kind of a big deal because he used my name, which is something he never does. So I'm pretty sure he's not acting weird because I freaked out or anything." Linda sighed, "Well, I think if Lucifer's been acting unusually, it's probably because he's been in, well you know, Hell. And although it may have been a couple of months for us, he's told me that time's not the same there, so it might have been thousands of years for him." "Yes," Chloe agreed. "He told me that, too. Unless he's lying." Linda chuckled, "Yeah, right. At least we know that that's something he never does, right? Right?" Chloe sighed, "Well, actually, this morning, I found out that Lucifer has reconsidered his position on honesty." "Oh," Linda replied. "Interesting. Well, I'm sure whatever Lucifer is going through, it has nothing to do with you or his feelings for you. He probably just needs time to reacclimate. You know, remember what his life is like here." Chloe nodded and said, "Perhaps, but there's one other thing that's bothering me about him." "And what's that?" Linda asked. "Carlos," Chloe revealed. "Since he came back, he has not once mentioned anything about Carlos. His own son. Doesn't that seem odd?" Linda thought about it, "Maybe. But maybe he wants to readjust to life here before he tried to contact Carlos. I mean, it's hard to contact someone who lives in another dimension, right? Even though Carlos has been able to contact us through phone." Chloe nodded, "OK. I will try to help Lucifer readjust to life here as you suggested and I'll see how he reacts. Thanks, Linda."
Chloe left the office and hid in the building bathroom as she pulled out her phone and called Carlos thinking, "Hopefully he can get me some answers."
Carlos was sitting on his bed with Dude at his side when his phone went off and Carlos saw that Chloe was contacting him again. He answered it, "Hey, Chloe." "Carlos," Chloe replied. "We need to finish our talk from last night." "Of course," Carlos said. "So you told me that my dad is back but something felt off." "Yeah," Chloe answered. "It's based on what he's said and did. He saved me from these gunmen and said that I was the reason he was able to keep going in Hell, just me, no mention of you, he walked into the crime scene today and lied to Ella and reciprocated her hug, which he never does, and he was nice to Dan, which he never is. He told me that time moves faster in Hell so it's been thousands of years since he last saw me so because of that, he's changed as a person. But he never lies and he isn't acting like his usual self. And he hasn't mentioned you at all. I talked to Linda and she thinks that he needs time to readjust to living on Earth, which I understand, but something still feels off. So I wanted to ask…" "If I can spy on him?" Carlos finished for Chloe. "Of course I will. For you. As I find it weird that he hasn't tried to contact me at all. He promised me that we would see each other again. And he has the stone I gave him to visit me here in Auradon, so something is definitely up. But it may take some time." "Why?" Chloe asked. Carlos sighed, "Because I have to get Evie's mirror back as I had to give it back to Fairy Godmother when I got back here two months ago. She's my girlfriend's mom so I have to be sneaky about it. Once I get it, I will come to LA and spy on Lucifer and see what's going on. Then I will contact you. In the meantime, just act normal with him and maybe go along with Linda's suggestion. We don't want to alert Lucifer of anything. OK?" "Alright," Chloe said. "I'll play along for now. Maybe I'm wrong and just being paranoid." "It's OK," Carlos said. "You have a right to be. Lucifer's been gone for a while so anything odd will alert you and me. I'll talk to you soon." He hung up and thought, "Great, now I have to get the mirror back. Maybe Jane can help."
Chloe met FakeLucifer back at LAPD and went over some details about the case with him, "So there's five Red 2 Mars Project members. We just have to figure out which one had motive to kill Judy." FakeLucifer smirked, "Yes, interrogation. I remember it well. Crucial to the crime solving process." Chloe nodded, "Well, and it can be boring, but you'll make it fun. You always do. That's who you are."
They interrogated the five members, one of them being Sharon Osbourne. FakeLucifer was serious throughout the whole process. Chloe tried to bait him into acting like his old self, have him pull out what people desired, have him drink out of his flask, getting him to yell at the members, and even tried to get him to flirt with the female members. But FakeLucifer didn't budge and that frustrated Chloe. And none of the members confessed to killing Judy. The pair walked out of the interrogation room and FakeLucifer said, "Dearie me. That got us nowhere." "Yeah," Chloe agreed. "Tell me about it. Hey, what's going on with you? Are you OK?" FakeLucifer turned to her and said, "Of course. Everything's fine." Chloe then asked, "Don't you want to do something impulsive, inappropriate, sinful, you know?"
She looked over and saw a pudding on Dan's desk, picked it up, and said, "Here, eat this." FakeLucifer reluctantly took it, "Well, I'm not really hungry." Chloe sighed, "That's not why you eat it." Dan then walked by and saw his pudding in FakeLucifer's hands, "Hey, is that my pudding?" FakeLucifer nodded, "Yes, here you go, Daniel. Yummy." Dan took the pudding back, "OK. What's your game?" FakeLucifer replied, "Nothing, just thought you looked a bit peckish." Dan took a little taste, "Did you spit in it? Yeah, you spit in it." Dan walked away just as Ella ran up and said, "Got something, kids. That hair I found in the bloody boot print, it's sheep hair. Now, unless someone was into some freaky stuff, Lucifer, don't even say it." FakeLucifer looked confused, "I won't." which Chloe noticed. Ella continued, "It means that someone tracked that hair in from outside the dome." FakeLucifer replied, "Oh, well, that is exciting! Well done, Ms. Lopez. Right, I'd say it's time to go and talk to the people running the program. Genius!" Ella sighed happily, "Oh, God, it's so great to have Lucifer back again, isn't it?" Chloe nodded, but was still unsure if this was truly Lucifer.
She and FakeLucifer went back to Red 2 Mars Project and talked with two of the heads of the project and Lucifer said, "So we understand no one was allowed in or out of the facility, but people must have come to the dome to drop off supplies, yes?" One of the heads, Sam, answered, "Uh, no, actually. The whole point is to simulate a real trip to Mars, so no one's going to swing by when you're just, you know, 33 million miles away." "And what about repairs?" Chloe asked. Sam answered, "Again, all maintenance has to be done on site, although that's minimal, too. We've made a lot of improvements from the first project to Red 2." The other head, Mandy, added, "We're less concerned about equipment failure than we are of people breaking down." "And what does that mean?" Chloe asked. Mandy answered, "One of the main reasons why we're running these simulations is to test the psychological strength of our travelers. It's difficult to be isolated with strangers for so long, away from your family, friends, everyone you love." "Yeah," Sam agreed. "I participated in the Red 1 Mars Project. I can tell you firsthand, the experience really changes a person." Chloe replied, "But once you were back for a while, did you start to feel more like yourself, or…" Sam sighed, "To tell you the truth, I'm not sure if I'll ever be the same." FakeLucifer said, "Well, it must have been particularly hard on your relationships." FakeLucifer then remembered something from the interviews with the other members, "Detective, didn't one of the crew members mention that Judy was loud on the phone? Perhaps she was arguing with someone back home." Mandy replied, "Doubtful. The sat phones are just used for project communications. They're only connected to the systems here." FakeLucifer asked, "Well, did anyone here have issues with Judy, then?" Sam looked over to Mandy, "What about Donovan?" "Who?" Chloe asked. Sam answered, "An aerospace engineer who used to work here. But when Judy got promoted to project commander of Red 2 over him, he got pissed. He went to Brody, he threw a fit, so Brody fired him. Donovan was kind of emotional when he left." Chloe hummed to herself.
As she and FakeLucifer were leaving the site, FakeLucifer said, "Detective, I could tell the questions you were asking certainly weren't just about the case. You're concerned that I have changed. Well, the truth is I have. But I need you to know that my feelings for you haven't. You've already been so patient. I just ask that you give me a little more time." Chloe nodded, "Of course. Whatever you need." FakeLucifer sighed, "Thank you." Chloe walked ahead of him and FakeLucifer was starting to get concerned about his ruse. While Chloe was thinking, "It's strange that he still hasn't mentioned Carlos at all. Why was that?"
Speaking of Carlos, he was waiting outside Auradon Prep for Jane to meet up with him. He saw her walking to where he was and he asked, "Did you get it?" Jane nodded and pulled out Evie's mirror from her pocket, "Luckily Mom hasn't put it back in the museum yet. She was too busy with Ben and Mal's wedding. I was able to sneak back into her office and take it out from her desk. So why do you want Evie's mirror again?" Carlos sighed, "Remember the call from Chloe I told you about? Well, she called me again and she told me that yes my dad returned, but something feels off about him. Like's he not himself. She has a theory that it may not be my dad, or something messed up happened to my dad while he was in Hell. So she wants me to use Evie's mirror to spy on him. Maybe that might give me some answers. And if things are looking bad, then I will go back to LA and confront this "Lucifer" for myself." Jane nodded her head, "OK. Just please be careful." Carlos pulled Jane into a hug and said, "I will. I promise."
FakeLucifer returned to the penthouse and walked around it when suddenly he was attacked from behind by Maze. She yanked him to the ground and used her legs to choke him as she shouted, "How could you? After everything we've been through, Lucifer, how could you go home without me?" FakeLucifer suddenly started to talk in an American accent, "I'm not Lucifer!" Maze shockingly let him go and FakeLucifer gasped for breath. "Lucifer told me he had a twin brother," Maze said. FakeLucifer looked up at Maze, "And you are Mazikeen. Nice to meet you. I'm Michael."
Michael got up and poured himself a drink as Maze said, "Michael, huh? How do I know you're not Lucifer saying you're Michael just so I won't kick your ass?" Michael turned to Maze, "Lucifer doesn't lit, remember?" Maze pulled out her demon blades and Michael sighed, walked over to her, and unfurled his wings, which were gray in color, "Do these look like Lucifer's wings to you?" Michael hid them as Maze said, "Fine. What the hell are you doing here?" Michael sighed, "To right a very serious wrong. See, there I am in the Silver City, doing my thing, when Gabriel strolls in and says, "Lucifer went back to Hell, voluntarily." Well, I just crack up, as you can imagine, but then Raphael starts going off about how Lucifer's grown, and then Remy says, "Yeah, what a sacrifice," and then pretty soon all I head is, "Lucifer, Lucifer, Lucifer!"" Maze scoffed, "So you're jealous?" "No," Michael replied. "I'm pissed. Lucifer finally does what he's supposed to do without whining about it, and he gets praised? He rebelled against Dad. Almighty God, for God's sake. Since when do we congratulate a convict for serving a sentence? And if I know my eternally selfish brother, and I do, all this sacrifice and responsibility BS, it's just smoke and mirrors. I don't know who he's trying to fool, but I do know that as soon as he hears someone is up here playing with his toys, maybe even breaking a few, then he will come flying right back up to reveal his true colors. So, hello Los Angeles."
Maze scoffed, "Seems to me you're the only one trying to fool people. Good luck with that. Humans are smart. Especially Chloe Decker." Michael sighed, "I admit, she was getting a little suspicious, but I'll just up my Lucifer game until she's properly hooked, and then I will achy-break her little heart." Maze then asked, "Do you even know how to be Lucifer? Know anything about Earth? Humans?" Michael smirked, "I pay attention, Ms. Mazikeen. I know a lot of things." Maze asked, "And what makes you think I will let you get away with any of this?" "Well, why wouldn't you?" Michael countered. "Why wouldn't you even help me? I told you, I know things, and I know that you're pissed at my brother. Join me. Lure him back up here, and then you can kick the real Lucifer's ass. Or you could just keep beating up pianos. It's your choice."
Maze asked, "What about Carlos? Does he play into this charade of yours?" Michael sighed, "Ah yes, Lucifer's long lost son. Remy told me about him, how he's from another dimension of Earth. Dad even seems proud that he has not one, but two grandsons now. Gabriel told me that he left here two months ago and hasn't returned. And I know he's one of the reasons Lucifer left to go back to Hell in the first place. His son is gone back home and hasn't come back so I don't have to worry about him." "Interesting," Maze commented. Michael shrugged, "He's where he belongs, just like Lucifer is where he belongs, but I want to lure Lucifer up here. And I want your help." Maze thought about it, surprised that Michael was underestimating Carlos like that, but she had a soft spot for the kid and didn't want him to get hurt like he did during the demon uprising. So she keeps her mouth shut about Carlos, but Lucifer's still fair game so she says, "What do you want to do?"
They didn't know that Carlos saw the entire exchange in Evie's mirror. He was angry that his dad's twin brother was impersonating him and trying to lure his dad back to mess with him. Right then and there, he knew that he needed to end this. He grabbed his mother's ring and was about to open a portal to LA when Jane walked into his room with Dude, as she took Dude on a walk for Carlos, and Jane asked, "What happened? Are you going back?" Carlos sighed, "Sorry. Heat of the moment. But I just saw in the mirror that someone is impersonating my dad. And things are going to end badly if I don't help. I won't be gone long." Jane sighed, "Just please be careful." Carlos walked over and kissed her and said, "I will. And Dude, you are staying here." "But," Dude started to argue but Carlos interrupted, "I won't be gone long. Plus, this imposter is my dad's brother, and as you saw with his sister, angels are not to be taken lightly. I need to do this on my own. And I need to tell Chloe what's going on. I need to tell her face to face."
Back at Lux, Amenadiel was watching over the club and was talking to some people when Michael passed by and said in his Lucifer accent, "Hello, brother." Amenadiel turned, "Hey, Lucy." Amenadiel did a double take and walked over to Michael, "Lucy! You're here! Wait. You're here." Michael nodded, "Yes, I got a bit bored so I thought I'd pop back up. Anyway, I'll see you later." He turned to walk away, but Amenadiel stopped him, "Wait a minute. I'm going to need just a little bit more information than that, brother. Like, for instance, who's watching Hell?" "No one," Michael replied, "But don't worry. They've promised to be good little demons. I left them a cheese plate and put on some cartoons." Amenadiel scoffed, "You're being awfully glib." "I'm always glib, brother," Michael replied. "Look, I know what this is about. You're afraid for baby Charlie, right?" Amenadiel was shocked, "Yes, Lucy, of course I am. But I am also worried about my nephew, your son. What's to stop more demons from coming up and taking your son again? Or mine?" Michael sighed, "I went back to Hell for a reason. I was concerned, too, but I'm not anymore. Everyone's in line, trust me. None of my demons will touch my son and they won't go after your son either. You have nothing to fear." Michael turned and walked away, leaving Amenadiel alone with his thoughts.
Michael met up with Chloe and they went off on a stakeout at Donovan's house. Chloe told Michael, "All right, so, DMV lists this as Donovan Glover's most recent address." Michael commented, "If he goes to Mars, they're never going to find Waldo." They both laughed as Chloe commented, "You know, your seem more like your regular self tonight." "Do I?" Michael asked and Chloe nodded. He looked out and saw someone crossing the road, so he leaned his head out the window of the car and shouted, "Donovan Glover?" The man froze then ran to his car as Chloe shouted, "LAPD!" Donovan got into his car as Michael commented, "I don't believe he heard you." They started to drive after him and they eventually cornered him in an alley. Michael and Chloe got out of the car and Chloe pulled out her gun, "LAPD! Get out of the car!" Donovan revved up his engine and sped right to them as Chloe started shooting at the car, one bullet grazed Donovan's shoulder as Michael suddenly held her close and flew them over the car and down again, Michael making sure her face was covered so that she didn't see his gray wings. As they landed, Michael said, "Well. That was fun." Chloe smiled and for this brief moment, she felt like Lucifer was back, even though she still had her doubts.
They arrested Donovan and took him back to LAPD, and went straight to the interrogation room. Donovan confessed, "I thought you were repo men. And woman. Sorry I freaked. It's just, that car is all I got left." Michael replied, "Well, perhaps you shouldn't have freaked on your boss Brody and gotten yourself fired." "You know about that?" Donovan asked. "Well, he kind of deserved it. He gave a promotion to someone way less qualified than me." "You're referring to poor Judy," Michael said. "The woman you stabbed in the neck," Chloe added. "Wait," Donovan said. "Are you saying Judy's dead? And you think I did it? No. No way. First of all, I've been in Texas all week, interviewing. Just got back last night. Second, I never touched that woman. Bad enough Brody blacklisted me. Who knows what he'd do if anyone hurt his Judy?" "His Judy?" Chloe asked. "Yeah," Donovan replied. "They were having an affair. Why do you think she got the job over me? Boss can't even follow his own "No fraternizing at work" rule." Chloe turned to Michael and whispered, "Brody's married." "Perhaps Judy got tired of being the mistress," Michael whispered back. "Explains the angry phone calls," Chloe said. "Brody got scared his wife would find out," Michael replied. Chloe nodded, "Yeah, made sure she wouldn't. He has access to Mission Control." Michael added, "And the ability to delete the surveillance footage." "Yes," Chloe replied. "We have to go talk to Brody." "Yes, we do," Michael agreed.
Donovan was let go and Chloe went to find out where Brody was. Michael was leaning against a wall as Dan came up to him, "Hey. What are you doing?" Michael answered, "I'm literally doing nothing." Dan scoffed, "You never do nothing. Something is definitely up." Chloe then walked over, "Hi. So I figured out why we can't get a hold of Brody." She pointed up and Michael guessed, "He's dead?" Chloe shook her head, "Not Heaven. Space. Turns out he's on a suborbital shuttle test until tomorrow morning. So, you know, that means that you and I have the rest of the evening free." "Right," Michael said, not liking the way Dan was looking at him. "Right, well, I suppose I'll go home and get some dinner, then. All on my lonesome. I'll see you later, Detective." Michael walked away and Chloe asked Dan, "Um, was that an invitation?" "Don't ask me," Dan replied. "The guy's a freaking enigma."
Chloe got some take out and went over to the penthouse. She got off the elevator and said, "Lucifer. I brought our favorite. Burgers and fries." She looked into the bedroom and saw Michael and Maze making out. She dropped the bag she was carrying and Michael noticed, "Detective. Wait!" Chloe ran to the elevator and Michael chased after her and got in the elevator with her before it could close on him, "Let me explain." "Maze?" Chloe asked. "You are acting so different. I am trying to be patient, Lucifer. Understanding, but no…" "Detective," Michael tried to hold her, but Chloe said, "No. Leave me alone. I don't even know who you are anymore." Michael sighed, "You're right. Honestly, I'm not even sure who I am anymore. I mean, I was down there for so long, I got lost, lost in who I used to be. And I have been trying so hard to get back to the Lucifer I was, the Lucifer that you know, but when I saw Maze, Hell just came rushing back. Chloe, it meant nothing. You are the only thing that matters to me." Chloe scoffed, "Oh, yeah? What about Carlos? Your son? Your own flesh and blood? You haven't mentioned him at all since you've been back. Have you even told him that you returned? Carlos was heartbroken just like I was when you left. You promised him that you would see him again." Michael lied, "I tried to tell Carlos that I was back, but the kid said that he would rather stay where he was. He couldn't face me. He is still scared from when my demons almost sacrificed him to Hell and he sees me as a reminder of that. Carlos couldn't care less anymore. So now I am trying to reconcile with you so you are all that matters." Chloe scoffed, "How do I know that you're not lying? Because you do that now, yeah? You lie." "Not to you," Michael said. "You're different. I would never lie to you." The elevator doors opened and Chloe sighed, "Yeah, well, I need to go. I need to think." She walked out of the elevator and the doors closed as Michael smirked.
While Michael and Chloe were in the elevator, Maze leaned back on the bed and thought, "Is this really going to work? I mean, I hate doing this to Chloe." Suddenly she felt someone grabbed her neck and shove her onto the bed. She looked up to see Carlos, with white hair and red eyes glaring down at her, "Hello, Maze." Maze tried to get up, but Carlos commanded, "Don't move." Maze felt her body freeze as Carlos chuckled, "This is an interesting sight. My father's head demon trying to hurt Chloe. And that my dad isn't really back, but his brother Michael impersonating him. I couldn't sit idly by and watch this happen." Maze realized, "Your mirror." Carlos nodded, "Just because I am back in my home dimension doesn't mean I haven't been keeping an eye on things. Plus, Chloe called me. I found it strange that my dad didn't contact me to say that he left Hell so I did some digging. And here I find you and Michael trying to break Chloe's heart and try to lure my dad out of Hell. I'm disappointed, Maze." Maze struggled, "I just want to get back at Lucifer for leaving me here." "I got that," Carlos replied. "But know this. I am going to stop Michael." Maze continued to struggle but Carlos commanded, "You will not tell Michael anything about me. You won't tell him that I am here. You won't try to stop me. In fact, you are going to forget about this entire conversation. It's going to be like I'm not even here in LA. But you're going to think about your actions and decide if you want to continue this charade with Michael. I'll be watching." Carlos let go of Maze and walked out to the balcony, unfurled his wings, and flew away. Maze sat there as her mind was fogging up, obeying Carlos' command of forgetting the conversation, but leaving her with thoughts of doubt and regret about the charade.
Chloe was back at her place crying on her bed. She didn't know what to believe anymore. Suddenly she heard a knock on the door. Wiping her eyes, she walked to the door and was shocked to see Carlos standing there. The boy smirked and said, "Hey, Chloe. We need to talk."
Carlos explained what he saw and what he knows. That Lucifer was really Michael and Maze was in on the plan to lure Lucifer back to LA. Chloe was pissed and she wanted to confront Michael right away, but then realized that they needed to set a trap of their own for Michael. Carlos agreed, but said that he wanted to talk to Amenadiel about what was going on. And that he commanded Maze to forget the conversation they had so Chloe should be careful around Maze and not reveal anything to her. Chloe told Carlos that he should be careful around Lux and Carlos reassured her that with his mirror he can keep an eye on things as they formulated a plan.
Chloe met up with Michael at an airport as Brody had returned and was giving a press conference, "Nothing inspires like a suborbital view. Except, of course, maybe one from the Red Planet. And let me tell you something. Jeff Bezos can Bezos our butt! But this mission, it brings us one step closer…" Michael was trying to talk to Chloe, "Detective, about last night…" "I don't want to talk about it," Chloe retorted as they passed through the reporters as Brody continued, "To making that dream come true. I couldn't be prouder. And let me tell you…" Chloe and Michael got to the front and Chloe said, "Mr. Brody, do you have a minute to talk?" "I'm sorry," Brody replied. "If you guys wouldn't mind just hanging back with the rest of the press. Wait a sec. I know you. Yeah. You're that guy who helped me find forgiveness. And the one with the kid." Michael looked shocked for a second, which Chloe noticed, but Michael lied, "Yes I am. How are you?" Brody suddenly hugged him, "Thanks again, man. Oh, it was very cool of you." Chloe sighed and held up her badge which Brody saw.
He took the pair into a hanger after Chloe explained why they were there and he said, "I'm devastated over Judy's death. Just sick. No one expects to lose an employee like that." "We know you were sleeping with her," Chloe said. "An accomplished woman, maybe she didn't want to be the side piece, maybe she didn't like sharing you." "Yes," Michael added. "Perhaps she threatened to tell your wife, or the public." Brody asked, "Uh, do I need a lawyer?" Chloe then said, "No one had more access to the dome, to the cameras. Right now, no one has more motive than you." Brody sighed, "You know, I'd say I definitely need a lawyer." Brody walked over to his car as Chloe whispered, "So right now might be a good time to do your thing." "My what?" Michael asked. "The mojo," Chloe answered. "With the eyes." "Oh!" Michael realized. "Right, yes that."
Michael then shouted out, "Mr. Brody. Sorry, one last question." "Get the car running," Brody told his driver and walked back over to Chloe and Michael. Michael then looked Brody in the eyes and asked, "Tell me, what is it that you truly fear?" Chloe got confused, then realized that this must be Michael's thing, he must bring out people's fears while Lucifer brings out people's desires. Brody stared into Michael's eyes and said, "I'm afraid that people will find out." "That you killed Judy?" Michael asked. "No," Brody answered. "That I hate space. This astronaut crap scares the hell out of me! I just started the Mars Project to compete with Bezos and Musk. It was a goddamn publicity stunt." "So you don't want to do to Mars?" Michael asked. "That's why you're a sweaty little Betty?" Brody whispered, "I get carsick, for God's sake. I almost passed out in the simulation. How am I supposed to rocket my ass to fricking Mars?" "Did Judy know it was all a scam?" Chloe asked. "Not at first," Brody answered. "She found out when she was in the dome, actually. Called me, pissed, threatening to tell everyone, the press." Chloe shrugged, "Well, even more reason for you to want her dead." Brody shook his head, "No, no, no. I talked her down, told her I had no choice now but to go through with the trip. So, we made up. I'm telling you, I had nothing to do with her death." "Do you have an alibi for three nights ago?" Chloe asked. "I was home all night," Brody answered. "Vomiting my guts out, 'cause the following morning, I had to get in that stupid tin can." "Can anyone corroborate?" Michael asked. Brody sighed, "I guess not. Yeah, I'm not saying anything else without my lawyer. And bro, I thought we were friends."
Chloe and Michael walked out of the hanger and Chloe called Dan, "Dan, hi. So Brody's lawyered up. We can't do anything without more evidence, all right? Yeah, I'm headed back now." She hung up as Michael stopped her, "I upset you even more back there, didn't I? When I asked him what he truly feared." Chloe sighed, "Actually, Lucifer, just the opposite. I think it helped me understand. I've never been to Hell, and I hope I never will, but from what you've told me, it's a truly terrible place, and if it really was thousands of years for you, no wonder dishonesty and fear followed you back. I mean, yes, you've changed, but it would be so strange if you hadn't. I think it's time that I accept that. See you at the precinct?" Michael nodded, "Right."
Chloe walked to her car and got in it and drove away. She pulled out her phone and called Carlos, "So, did you see all of that?" "Indeed I did," Carlos answered. "So bringing out people's fear must be his gift. Like my dad's is with desire. Good acting there at the end by the way." "Thank you," Chloe said. "I was an actress once upon a time. I am heading back to the precinct to look over the evidence in this case." "Good luck with that," Carlos replied. "I'll be here, house sitting for you and keeping an eye on Michael. But first I need to go talk to Amenadiel."
Meanwhile, Amenadiel was at Lux with Charlie on him through a baby carrier and Linda was with him, "I told you, tequila upsets his stomach." Amenadiel chuckled, "Hey, Linda. Is it noon already? You know, I meant to call you, just wondering if it might be OK if I kept little Charlie here for one more night." "Aren't you working?" Linda asked. "Yeah," Amenadiel answered. "But there's no better place for this little angel than right here, strapped to me." Linda then asked, "Amenadiel, when was the last time you put Charlie down?" Amenadiel shrugged, "It's not that long, 15, 16 hours, maybe?" Linda sighed, "OK, Amenadiel, give me the baby." Amenadiel stepped away as Linda asked, "What's wrong?" Amenadiel sighed, "OK, listen. I don't want to worry you, all right? But Lucifer's back." "OK," Linda replied. "Chloe told me. So?" "So?" Amenadiel said. "So he's not in Hell. He's not watching the demons. And since Carlos isn't here, our son is a target for them." Linda sighed, "But Lucifer wouldn't come back unless everything was OK, right?" Amenadiel thought about it, "I suppose. He said as much. And it's Lucifer, he doesn't lie." He noticed a look on Linda's face and asked, "What is it?" Linda sighed, "Uh, no, it's just that Chloe told me that apparently, since he's been back, Lucifer has started lying." "What?" Amenadiel replied. "Surely he wouldn't lie about something like this. Especially when his own son is at stake." "That's another thing," Linda said. "Chloe said that Lucifer didn't mention Carlos at all. Which I find bizarre. But no, of course, you're right. We shouldn't let our fears get the best of us."
Amenadiel then realized something as Linda took the baby and left. He then got a text and it read, "Come to the bar storage room. We need to talk." Confused, Amenadiel went to the bar storage and when he closed the door, he saw a simmer of light and then Carlos appeared, in his full VK splendor. Amenadiel smiled and said, "Carlos!" He walked over and pulled his nephew into a hug. "Hey, Uncle Amenadiel," Carlos said. "What are you doing here?" Amenadiel asked as he pulled away. Carlos sighed, "We need to talk." Amenadiel's face got serious, "That the Lucifer that's walking around is really my brother Michael?" Carlos was shocked, "How did you know?" "It took a while," Amenadiel answered. "But when we talked earlier, he brought out my fears and it was after talking to Linda about them that made me realize that it is Michael." "Good for you," Carlos said. "That makes this next part easier." "What is that?" Amenadiel asked. Carlos pulled out his mirror and said, "I found out back in Auradon after Chloe called me. This mirror let me spy on him and I figured it out." Amenadiel narrowed his eyes, "Tell me everything you know."
Chloe was at LAPD and walking around when she heard, "Decker." Chloe looked up and saw Maze standing on the overview. She walked up to the overview, right to Maze, who said, "So, uh, you freaking out? I mean, seeing me and Lucifer together…." "Maze," Chloe interrupted. "I know what you're trying to do." "You do?" Maze asked. "Yeah, and you suck at it," Chloe continued. "I do?" Maze asked. "Yeah," Chloe said. "Oh, yeah. You're trying to apologize in your very awkward, demon way." "I am?" Maze asked. Chloe sighed, "Look, I was pissed. It was devastating walking in on you and Lucifer like that. It was. But I know that you're in a vulnerable place right now. You're lonely. You're missing Eve. And it helped me to understand that Lucifer is also hurting, too. He's desperate for love and affection, deeply desperate. I mean, obviously, if he was gonna reach out to you. It also made me realize that I want to be the one who is there for him. In every way. In fact, I think it's time for us to take our relationship to the next level." "Are you saying you're gonna bone him?" Maze asked. Chloe chuckled, "I mean, hopefully it's, like, a little more romantic than that. But yeah, um, I think we've waited long enough." She walked away and was hiding a grin as Maze stood there, thinking of guilt and regret.
Later, Chloe, Michael, and Ella were looking over evidence. Ella had fallen asleep on her microscope, then suddenly woke up, "Aragorn, that's not your sword. I'm totally awake. I'm awake." Chloe sighed, "I think it's time to go get some coffee, Lucifer." She and Michael walked out to the coffee station and Chloe started her act, she reached for the coffee mugs and cream at the same time as Michael so that their hands touched, after she blended the milk, she eagerly licked the spoon in a sexual way, which Michael noticed. Chloe then said, "You know, I am hungry. Do you want anything from the vending machine? Oh, shoot. I forgot my money. Do you mind if…" Michael nodded and Chloe reached with one hand into his pocket and the other hand rested on his groin. Chloe smiled as she pulled away, leaving Michael flustered, and said, "So, what do you think? You want your favorite? The ranch puffs, or maybe something different? You know, I've been thinking. You are different, but sometimes change is a good thing. You know, I think I like the new Lucifer. You've grown. I've been stuck in an old version of us, and maybe it's time for me to move forward, or for us to move forward together. How about after we solve this case, I come over to your place?" Chloe was really hamming it up and being overly sexual, but Michael was too in the moment so said, "Right." Chloe hummed and looked at their reflection in the vending machine, "Oh, look at us." Michael saw it too, "Yes. It's rather lovely, isn't it?" Chloe then realized something, "Maybe there's a reflection. Excuse me." She handed Michael his money back and ran to the evidence room.
Michael started to follow her but then Linda walked in, "Lucifer. Lucifer?" Michael turned to her, "Oh, Dr. Linda Martin! Hello." "So it's true," Linda replied. "Here you are. That's great. You must be so happy. Everyone must be so…..Who's watching Hell?" "What?" Michael said. "Oh, don't worry about that. It's fine." Linda didn't buy it, "Uh, yeah, because the last time Hell was left unattended, demons tried to take my baby then tried to make your son King, so I'm going to need a little more than "It's fine."" Michael sighed, "Yes, I understand, you're afraid for your child and for Carlos." Linda replied. "Yeah, I'm not afraid he's gonna fall off the swings, Lucifer. Or that Carlos would do something he'll regret later. Do you not remember what happened? They almost kidnapped Charlie. And they tried to take your son to Hell. That's a big deal. So of course I'm going to be afraid for my child and nephew. I need to keep my baby safe. So why aren't you scared for yours?" Michael suddenly sensed her fear, "Yes, I understand. You're afraid for your baby and Carlos, but it's more than that, isn't it? You're afraid of being a bad mother, aren't you? And why do I get the feeling you have a good reason for that?" Michael then broke his concentration and said, "But don't worry, Hell's being looked after, I promise you. And the more I think about it, the more it might just stay that way."
Michael made his way to the lab, leaving Linda standing alone with her thoughts, even though she eventually left, and walked in on Chloe asking Ella, "Can you go to the moment right before the cameras shut off?" Ella did, but said, "Nada." "Fast forward a bit," Chloe replied. "More…There. Freeze." Ella saw what Chloe saw, "Oh my gosh. You're right. There's a reflection. Whoever killed Judy only wiped the camera footage from the time they stepped into frame. They didn't even think about their reflection. Ack. I can't see their face, though." "Is there any way to tell whose suit that is?" Chloe asked. "It's none of them," Ella replied. "Look. I mean, that one has an external oxygen tube, but the ones from the Red 2 Mars Project, look, nada. Those must be built into the suit." "Do you think the change would be considered an improvement?" Chloe asked. "Definitely," Ella answered. "OK," Chloe replied. "I might have an idea of where the old suit came from. Lucifer? Let's go." Michael nodded and followed Chloe out of the lab.
They went over to the house of the suspect Chloe had in mind and knocked on the door, no answer. Chloe sighed, "Well, it's late. We should probably just come back tomorrow morning." Chloe turned to walk away, but then Michael broke the lock. Chloe said, "Lucifer, we don't even have a warrant." Michael walked into the house and Chloe followed him. By the time she found him, he said, "Nothing." "Well," Chloe whispered. "Let's go." Suddenly they heard a gun and Michael grabbed Chloe and pulled here away and behind a nearby couch as shots were fired. Chloe then shouted, "Sam Chavez! LAPD! Hold your fire!" "LAPD?" Sam asked. "Oh, my God. Thank God." Chloe and Michael got up and Chloe demanded, "Drop the gun." Sam did, "I'm sorry." Chloe walked over and kicked the gun away, "You're under arrest for the murder of Judy Mason." Sam got confused, "Wait a minute, what? No, no. I didn't kill Judy. Anders Brody did. That's who I thought you were. That's why I shot at you." Michael then asked, "And you know Brody killed Judy how?"
Sam explained, "Judy found out the Mars Project was just a publicity stunt. She told me. We started working together to find proof and bring it to the press, but she was just too emotionally invested with the project and with Brody, and, you know, I warned her not to confront him, but she got impatient, and now she's dead." "Why didn't you tell us earlier?" Chloe asked. "Do you know Anders Brody?" Sam retorted. "His reputation means everything to him. I thought he'd come after me next." Michael smirked, "It's a clever ruse, but it won't work. All the evidence points to you." "What evidence?" Sam asked. "What are you talking about?" Chloe answered, "You're the only person with access to Mission Control, video surveillance. You owned a space suit for the Red 1 Mars Project. The cameras captured a reflection of your suit heading toward the dome just seconds before the cameras were wiped." Michael continued, "And if I hazard a guess, this tacky rug is sheepskin and matches a hair found at the crime scene."
Sam sighed, "Oh, no. No, no, no. You're right. I'll go with you." Suddenly they heard a voice say, "Sam's lying." They turned to see Mandy standing there with a knife in her hands, "He didn't do it. I killed Judy." Chloe pointed her gun at Mandy, "Drop the knife, Mandy." Mandy complied, "No, I didn't want to hurt anyone else, it's just, I brought it as proof it's the murder weapon." Michael smirked, "Oh, it looks like Brody and Judy weren't the only ones breaking the "no fraternizing at work" rule." Sam stared at Mandy, "I don't understand. You took my suit and killed Judy? Why?" Mandy sighed, "I thought you were in love with her. I mean, you were sneaking around, and hiding things. And then I caught you on the phone with her, whispering." "No," Sam clarified. "I was working with her to expose Brody. The whole Mars Project is fake." "What?" Mandy asked. "Why didn't you say anything?" Sam explained, "Because I was trying to keep you safe." Mandy sighed, "You know, when you went away on that first project, I waited for you. You were gone for so long. And when you came back, you were so different. I thought you didn't love me anymore." Sam shook his head, "It doesn't matter where I am. Here, the moon, Mars, it does not matter. There is nothing that would change the way that I feel about you." "Even if I'm in prison?" Mandy asked. "Nothing," Sam answered. Mandy hugged Sam and sobbed, as Chloe pulled out her cuffs and arrested her.
Chloe took Mandy to LAPD while Michael went back to the penthouse. After Chloe handed Mandy over to other police officers, Chloe pulled out her phone and called Carlos, "Hey. I think it's time to set the trap." "Agreed," Carlos said. "Based on what I saw, I think Michael is about to take Lucifer's place permanently." "Good," Chloe said. "There's here's the plan."
Michael was in the bedroom, fluffing up his collar, when he heard the elevator doors open. "Detective!" Michael shouted out in his Lucifer accent. He walked out and saw Maze standing there, who said, "No. It's just me. I know what you're about to do and I won't let you. I have my issues with Lucifer, and yeah, I am kind of pissed at Chloe. But this? No. Kissing me was one thing. Chloe is a good person. She doesn't deserve this." Michael sighed and said in his natural accent, "You're right. You are right. Chloe is special. Which is why I've changed my mind, and I'm pretty sure Chloe has, too, actually. It seems that, uh, she likes this new Lucifer even better than the old." "You told her who you really are?" Maze asked. "No," Michael answered. "No, but I will, in time. See, I've decided I'm not going to break Lucifer's life. I'm gonna take it. So, if you'll excuse me." Michael walked back to the bedroom as Maze said, "Yeah, that's not…" But Michael suddenly pulled Maze in a chokehold and held her until she fell unconscious. Michael smirked, "I have a date to keep."
Michael picked her up and hid her in the closet as Chloe entered the penthouse and called out, "Lucifer?" Michael shouted out in his Lucifer accent, "I'll be there in a moment, Detective." "OK," Chloe called back. She walked out toward the balcony and waited. Michael walked right ups behind her and said, "Good evening." Chloe turned and said, "Hi. Do you remember the last time we were here?" "Of course," Michael lied. Chloe smiled, "We told each other how we felt. I just hope you now that I meant every word I said. I love you, Lucifer. And I still do." Michael smiled, "And I meant it, too. I love you, Chloe." Chloe then started to back Michael up to a chair, "I've waited such a long time for this." Michael smirked, "Me too." Michael breathed Chloe in as Chloe pulled out her bullet necklace, "See? Still have it on." "I can see that," Michael replied. Chloe smiled, "You know, once we do this, things are never going to be the same." "I believe you're right," Michael replied.
Chloe backed up and quickly pulled out her gun and shot Michael in the leg, making him fall to the ground. Chloe glared at Michael, "Once I shot Lucifer to prove he was the Devil, and now I'm shooting you to prove you're not. That's what I thought." Michael stood up and asked in his natural accent, "How long have you known?" Chloe answered, "I knew something was off the first time I kissed you. But you always had such good explanations and good lies. I wanted to believe you. But then I saw you with Maze. I did go home crying my eyes out. But I was paid a visit by someone who also knew something was off, thanks to a little phone call I made. And that confirmed it for me. Because Lucifer would never do what you did to me. So I had a little spy on my side."
Suddenly Michael was grabbed from behind and thrown to the broken piano. Michael groaned and looked up to see Carlos standing there smirking, "Hello, Dad. Or should I say, Uncle Michael?" Michael struggled to stand, "Lucifer's little brat. I thought you were back where you belonged." Carlos scoffed, "I was, until I got an interesting call from Chloe. So I spied on you and saw your conversation with Maze. I came back here and told Chloe everything. For you see, if you were really my dad, you would have contacted me right away when you left Hell. As my dad promised me that he would. Chloe then played along while I spied on you and we decided to trap you." Michael huffed, "Clever, clever. I guess I shouldn't have underestimated you. You must have several tricks up your sleeve that I don't know about."
Chloe then shot Michael again and Michael said, "You know that won't kill me." Chloe shot him several more times, "Yeah, but it makes me feel better." Michael held up his hand, "OK, I get it. So what? I guess this means you never really liked the new Lucifer." Chloe smirked, "You're not the only one who can lie, and you are no Lucifer. Carlos told me why you're here and frankly I don't care, but I do know that I am glad, because you made me realize that all my fears that Lucifer had changed were just that. They were fears. What Lucifer and I have is special. It's real, and it doesn't matter how many lies you tell me. I will never lose faith in me and him." Carlos added, "And you didn't realize the relationship I had with my dad and how special that is. I know that I will see him again and you will never replace him. Not on my watch. You will never break my connection with him." Michael smirked, "Oh, really? No more lies, huh? Well, how about a truth then, Chloe? You are a gift from God, Chloe Decker." "What does that mean?" Chloe asked. Michael explained, "It means that you were never supposed to exist. Father made you for Lucifer. You were put here on Earth only for him, to be his little plaything. Now, isn't that special?"
"Leave her alone!" Carlos shouted, his eyes turning red. Michael felt his body back away from Chloe, and he chuckled, "So Remy was right. You have the gift of persuasion. I don't know how Lucifer was able to leave this dimension to conceive you, but I will find out. And I will find out every little thing about you. And then I will break you, just like I will with Chloe. Like how I sense you've been broken before. I can smell it in your fear. And maybe I can succeed where those demons failed and make your take your father's place in Hell, or have you join him there." Carlos glared at Michael, "You will never break me. I may have fears like everyone else, but I am stronger than you think. And you won't succeed where those demons failed. I am not leaving. But you are. So leave. Now! Get out!" Michael smirked, but his body followed Carlos' command and he left the penthouse. Carlos walked over to Chloe, "Are you OK?" Chloe nodded so Carlos said, "Don't worry about him. We will figure all of this out. We will watch our backs. Plus Amenadiel is downstairs and he knows about Michael. He has out backs." He then turned and opened a portal back to Auradon, "I need to head back. Michael is gone, but we need to keep our eyes out. Let me know if something happens. I'll be watching." Carlos went through the portal and left, Chloe was still thinking about what Michael said.
Michael had done what Carlos ordered him to do, leave the penthouse. So he was sitting at the bar in Lux drinking. He hated the fact that he underestimated Carlos and his whole plan of taking over Lucifer's life was done. Amenadiel saw him and walked over and said before Michael could do his Lucifer impression, "You're up late, Michael." Michael sighed, "Congratulations, bro. Used to take you forever to figure out I was playing you." Amenadiel looked at him, "You shouldn't have used fear to get inside my head. You shouldn't have done that. It was way too obvious. Plus, my nephew filled me in on the details of your escapades." Michael scoffed, "That little white haired brat needs to mind his own business." Amenadiel asked, "Does Father know you're here?" Michael rolled his eyes, "Oh, please. I do what I want." Amenadiel commanded, "Go home, Michael. You don't belong here." Michael replied, "Well, I could. I was commanded to leave the penthouse thanks to that nephew of ours. So maybe I could go back home. And when I get there, I could also tell Remy it's time to come back, because you know who else doesn't belong here? That's right. Your son, Chucky. And Lucifer's brat." Amenadiel said, "I'm not afraid of you, Michael. Now go home." Michael sighed, "Lucifer's life sucks anyway. The only thing worse is the traffic. And brother, I will admit that the boy has one upped you in commanding tones."
Michael walked away as Amenadiel said something that made Michael stop, "Oh, I think thou doth protest too much. You see, you pride yourself on exploiting everyone's fears, but we've always known yours. You're terrified that Lucifer is better than you. That he'll always be better than you." Michael chuckled, "Please. Our brother? The Devil? The guy that was cast out of Heaven for all eternity? The guy who just found out that he has a son that's not even from here?" "Exactly, Michael," Amenadiel replied. "Because despite even that, you know, deep down, he'll always end up winning." Michael smirked, "We'll see." Michael then disappeared into the crowd, leaving Amenadiel to himself.
Maze eventually woke up and found herself in chains. She broke free and looked around, seeing that Michael had disappeared.
Linda was going through a box and pulled out a picture of herself from 25 years ago, that had her holding a baby girl, her baby girl that she gave up. She cried silently to herself.
Chloe was sitting in her house thinking about Lucifer and wishing that he would return soon.
Carlos was sitting on his bed while Dude was asleep on the other end of it. Jane was happy that he was back safe and sound and they had a quiet dinner together. Sighing, he pulled out the feather his dad gave him and he held it close, the feather helping calm him.
Lucifer was walking around in Hell when he saw Amenadiel walking toward him, "Brother! What are you doing here?" Amenadiel sighed, "It's time, Lucy. You need to come back." "Why?" Lucifer asked. "What's happened?"
