In Hell, Lucifer pulled Amenadiel into one of the rooms and said, "So you're telling me that my dickhead twin showed up on Earth, assumed my identity, and then wrecked all sorts of havoc on my life?" Amenadiel nodded, "That about covers it, yes." Lucifer sighed, "Great. Great, and you came down here to tell me this why? Just to torture me? I suppose this is the appropriate place for it." "Yeah," Amenadiel said. "Is there somewhere else that we can talk?" The room that Lucifer pulled him into looking like it was inside a circus tent and a man was sitting in a cage rocking himself. Lucifer replied, "I don't like having private conversations in the hallways, and Kenneth doesn't mind, do you, Kenny?" "It's not funny!" Kenny replied. "No," Lucifer said. "No, it certainly isn't. My slope-shouldered brother is pulling a prank hardly worthy of Saved by the Bell in order to humiliate me." Amenadiel argued, "This isn't about you, Lucy. Michael's threatened Charlie's safety." "Oh, please," Lucifer countered. "Michael needles people's fears. It's what he does. But we also know he's all bark and no bite. Don't you remember, growing up? He'd get under your skin with one of his schemes, then you'd give him one of your atomic wedgies, and that'd be that."

Amenadiel sighed, "I don't think a wedgie's gonna do it this time. Things have changed up in Heaven. Last time I was there, Michael had managed to seat himself at Father's right hand." Lucifer asked, "So, Dad's talking to him?" Amenadiel shook his head, "No, he's talking to Father, but he's the only one. Nobody else in the Silver City has a line to Him. Nobody, and Michael has seen to it." "Michael?" Lucifer asked. "Weaselly, cowardly Michael? Now suddenly the power behind the throne?" Amenadiel sighed, "Without being able to speak to Father, who knows? But he is stronger than you think, Lucy. Michael's become untouchable in the Silver City. And Charlie isn't the only child Michael has threatened the safety of." Lucifer immediately paled realizing that he was talking about Carlos. Lucifer stared at Amenadiel, "He knows about Carlos?" Amenadiel nodded, "He got the info from Remy. And the fact that Carlos came to LA after Chloe contacted him that something was up. Carlos did some spy work and told me everything Michael was up to while impersonating you. But I still worry about the boy's safety. As should you. Like I said, in the Silver City, Michael's untouchable." Lucifer scoffed, "Well, he's not in the Silver City now, is he? So excuse me while I go touch him." Lucifer walked to the door then said, "I can see how that's a poor choice of words. But no one, not even my twin, threatens my Detective and my son. And also my nephew. Just hold the fort while I'm gone." He closed the door as Amenadiel shouted, "What?"

Lucifer appeared back on Earth and went straight to LAPD. He entered the main foyer and said, "Burnt coffee and odd odor never smelled so good." He looked around and saw Chloe as her desk. Taking a deep breath, he walked over to her and said, "Hello, Detective." Chloe looked up and said angrily, "No, no. Get the hell out of here." Lucifer was shocked, "Detective, I can explain." But Chloe interrupted, "No, I don't want to hear it. If you didn't understand the first four times I shot you, or when your nephew threw you into that broken piano, I will gladly shoot you again, Michael." Lucifer replied, "It's me. It's Lucifer." Chloe scoffed, "Do you expect me to fall for that again?" Lucifer sighed, "Look at the hair, or the perfectly arranged pocket square. Could Michael pull this off? I don't think so." He suddenly pulled an officer over and said, "Cacuzza, come here. Oh, it's good to see you again. Tell me. What is it that you desire?" Cacuzza looked up at Lucifer and answered, "I want to figure out how to disable the cameras in Evidence so I can nap in there." "Oh!" Lucifer replied. "Naughty you. Thank you." Cacuzza walked away as Lucifer continued, "Now, I know my brother can't do that." Chloe stared at Lucifer, "It's really you. How?" Lucifer smiled, "It's a funny story, actually. So, there I was in Hell, and…" Suddenly Chloe hugged him and Lucifer, shocked at first, returned the hug.

Chloe took him to the interrogation room so that they could talk. Lucifer sighed, "Unfortunately, I can't stay for long. Day job and all that." Chloe replied, "It's OK, I understand." Lucifer said, "I just needed to make sure you're OK. But of course you saw through Michael's charade, my clever Detective." Chloe smirked, "Well, it did take a bit. He was very convincing. But you have your son to thank for clearing things up. You need to visit him by the way. But Michael said some things…." Lucifer interrupted, "Well, good news on that front. Well, the Michael front. Every word that comes out of that admittedly dashing face is a lie. And you're right. I need to visit Carlos too. I did make a promise to my son." Chloe sighed as she pulled out her phone, "Here, I sent him a text. Knowing him, he will come here right away. Or as soon as he can. Anyway, that's a relief to hear that Michael lied. Because he said something so insane, I obviously knew it had to be a lie." Lucifer groaned, "Did he claim he's friends with Elvis? Because the King's still alive and I'm the only one who knows where." Chloe chuckled, "No, he told me that I was a gift from God. That's what he said." Chloe noticed Lucifer's face paling and asked, "That's not true, right? Lucifer, I am not a gift from God just for you, right?" Lucifer revealed, "Yes. I know how it sounds, but trust me, when my mom told me…" "Your mom told you?" Chloe interrupted. "What? Over a year ago? You've kept this the whole time?" Lucifer sighed, "Well, back then, you didn't even believe in the celestial side of things. Anyway, Mom only told me because she was trying to keep us apart." "Why?" Chloe asked. "Because if you knew I were a gift from your dad, you'd what, throw me away?" Lucifer answered, "She thought if I knew the truth, it would mean the feelings that I had for you weren't real, that I'd feel you were just some tool to manipulate me. But I don't feel that way, because I realized, Detective, that whether you were made for me or not, it doesn't matter." Chloe scoffed, "Well, it matters to me."

Dan suddenly opened the door, "Hey, we've got a body. WB Studios. Unless I'm interrupting." "No," Chloe said. "You're not interrupting. Perfect timing. Such a gift." Chloe stormed out as Dan said, "Wow. Hey, that reminds me. I made something for you. Here, it's a bracelet. Just like mine." Dan held it up, but Lucifer said, "Why on Earth would I want that? Detective!" Lucifer ran out and found Chloe, but she said, "No, I don't have time for this. I have work to do." "But, Detective," Lucifer reasoned. "You're the reason I'm here. And Carlos, but that's not the point right now." Chloe retorted, "Apparently you're the only reason I'm here. So I'm going to do my job that I chose. And don't you have somewhere to be?" Chloe walked away and Lucifer muttered, "Oh, Michael, you bastard."

Chloe drove herself to WB Studios and found Ella already at the crime scene, photographing the victim. She walked over and said, "Hey, Ella. What do we have?" Ella answered, "Meet Matt Owens, stabbed to death. We're still looking for the murder weapon. He was a TV writer. A showrunner, in fact, in charge of a series that shoots here on the lot. I mean, dude's gotta figure, He's the boss, he's got all these plans, and then bam! Somebody else has a plan for him, you know?" Chloe hummed to herself and was distant, and Ella noticed, "You OK?" Chloe sighed, "Lucifer and I had sort of a difficult conversation. I might have told him to go to Hell." Ella replied, "Oh, yeah, relationship drama. Huh, believe me, I hear ya. I could tell you some stories, like this one time in Mexico, but I totally will not tell you some stories, 'cause trust me. If the worst thing you said to him was go to Hell, you're totally OK."

Before Chloe could reply, they heard a car pull up and they turn to see Lucifer pull up in his car. He got out and ran to Chloe, "Detective!" "Lucifer," Chloe replied. "You're still here. I thought you would go visit Carlos before you head back." "Yes," Lucifer said. "But before I do, I want to make sure that you're OK." "Oh," Chloe replied. "Well, I mean, I'm happy to hear that, but I'm sorry. If God made me for you, He probably would want me to feel that way. So I need a little time to absorb all of it." "Right," Lucifer said. "Well, in the meantime, why don't we absorb whilst we work? I may as well help solve this murder for you whilst I'm up here fixing things." Chloe sighed, "I don't think this is an easy fix. This isn't one of those cases where you just waltz in and figure out as you go. Plus, shouldn't you at least call or text Carlos yourself to say that you're visiting?" Lucifer sighed, "Well, one, you already texted him so he might just reply to you, and two, my phone is back at my place in the safe and I haven't been back yet as I wanted to see you straight away."

He looked over and saw the victim, "Oh. Hello. I know that man." He walked over as Chloe followed, "Really?" Lucifer nodded, "Yes, that's Matt Owens. I did him a favor a couple years ago to help get his career started as a TV writer." Ella hummed, "That does sound like our victim." "You really know him?" Chloe asked. "Oh, yes," Lucifer replied. "I mean, even after the favor, he'd come over and we'd talk for hours. It's funny, I've been wondering what he was up to recently. You know, before I went…" "Right," Chloe interrupted as she noticed a billboard promo. "I may know that answer to that." She pointed to the promo, which was about a show called Lieutenant Diablo, which was a buddy cop show where the LAPD had the Devil as a consultant. Lucifer smirked, "Huh. Actually, now I think of it, we did mostly talk about me."

Over in Auradon, Carlos and Jane were walking back to Evie's house, as Evie lets him stay there during the summer. The couple had a picnic and Carlos was going to show Jane some things that he was working on for the upcoming senior year, even thought it was still a couple months away. As they approached the house, Evie opened the door and Dude came spiraling out shouting, "Carlos! Your phone keeps beeping." Evie sighed, "Apparently your text alert keeps going off." "Sorry," Carlos replied. "It's programmed to keep doing it until I open it." "Dude tried to unlock your phone," Evie said. "But couldn't, so he tried to get me to do it, yelling in my ears as I was trying to work on my designs." Carlos sighed, looked down at Dude, and said, "Dude, you could have just waited until I got back. Or if it annoyed you so much, you could have just left my room." "But it could be important," Dude argued. "What if Chloe is trying to contact you about that crazy uncle of yours?" "He does have a point," Jane agreed.

Carlos sighed and took his phone from Evie and unlocked it. He looked at the message and his eyes started to tear up. "Carlos?" Jane asked. "What's wrong?" Carlos looked up at Jane and Evie and smiled, "It's from Chloe. She says my dad is back in LA." He pulled out Evie's mirror from his jacket and said, "Mirror mirror in my hand, where does Lucifer Morningstar stand?" "You are getting good with my mirror," Evie commented as the mirror showed Lucifer with Chloe at a crime scene. "Looks like she's right," Jane said. "So that's Chloe?" Evie asked. Carlos nodded, "And that is my dad. I need to go see him."

Lucifer and Chloe were standing in the studio, watching an episode of Lieutenant Diablo king filmed. Chloe whispered, "This is the show that you helped Matt get on the air?" Lucifer shook his head, "All I did was introduce him to a network exec. I had no idea why he was asking me so many questions. But I have to say, it's shocking. I mean, the way in which he's brought my descriptions to life, the accuracy, is truly eerie. I can see why he had such a meteoric rise in the biz. Obviously the man was a tremendous talent." A crew member brought over some headphones, Lucifer accepted one, Chloe did not.

They watched the scene play out, and they saw a woman come onto the scene that was clearly was based on Chloe, but she acted too sexual and apparently her character used to be a strip pool dancer, unlike Chloe who used to be an actress. When the director called cut, Chloe turned to Lucifer and asked, "Is that how you described me to him?" Lucifer sighed, "Well, Matt didn't know everything. Obviously he took some creative license. Are they rolling again?" Chloe rolled her eyes and walked away.

Later they met up with the two leads, Diablo and Dancer, and Chloe asked, "So it seems a little odd that you all are shooting today, since your show runner was killed this morning." Diablo replied, "Matt would've wanted us to keep going. We're the biggest hit of the fall, and he was really proud of that. People can't get enough of Diablo." "Hear, hear," Lucifer happily chimed in. Dancer rolled her eyes, "Well, I think it's gross that we're still working. I mean, in all honesty, I know it's bad to speak ill of the dead, but I'm not surprised someone stabbed Matt, either." "Why not?" Chloe asked. Dancer answered, "The Mann was a control freak. I mean, I know all show runners have an ego, but Matt was a megalomaniac." "Come on," Diablo argued. "The man was an artist." Diablo pulled something out of his pocket and Lucifer asked, "Sorry, is that a vape pen?" Diablo nodded, "Hot cinnamon. Keeps the weight off." Lucifer sighed, "And you were doing so well."

Chloe continued, "So, the megalomaniac showrunner, did he choose your wardrobe?" "All his idea," Dancer answered. "I wear what he gives me, go where he tells me." "OK," Chloe replied. "I mean, does that bother you at all, that you have no say in what your character does or says?" "Are you kidding?" Dancer replied. "I'm a lead in a hit show, and you know, there are strippers out there considering becoming detectives now. I'm kind of a role model. Matt gave me that." Chloe muttered, "Interesting." She shook her head and asked, "So, anyhow, did either of you have a problem with Matt?" "Us?" Diablo replied. "No way. But let me tell you something. I've been doing this job for a while now, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's why people kill. It's 'cause they yearn for something. You want to find the killer, figure out their yearning." "Right," Lucifer said. "Isn't there a better word for that?" "No," Diablo answered. "OK," Chloe said. "Who do you think yearned to kill Matt?" "Keri Belwood," Dancer answered. "His number two. You should talk to her. Everyone knows she did al the work on the scripts and he took all the credit." "So Keri killed Matt to finally be in charge?" Lucifer guessed. "Yes," Diablo agreed. "Her yearning was for his job." Chloe replied, "Well, of course, possibly. There could be other motives to kill him." Diablo looked at Dancer and said, "Uh-oh! Sounds like we have a Dancer answer." "What?" Chloe asked. "See," Diablo explained, "Diablo comes up with the wild theories and crazy hijinks, and Dancer's the fun police." The two actors chuckled, along with Lucifer, so Chloe said, "OK. Well, thank you for your time." Chloe walked away and Lucifer said, "Yes, thank you." and ran after her. Diablo looked at the two and asked Dancer, "Do they seem familiar to you?"

Chloe walked outside and pulled out her phone and Lucifer caught up with her, "OK, what next?" Chloe sighed, "Well, I need to find Keri and talk to her. I can handle this interview one on one." Lucifer sighed, "But, Detective, I want to help…." "Dad?" Lucifer stopped talking as he and Chloe turned to see Carlos standing there, with his hair brown thanks to the illusion spell from his mom's ring, looking at Lucifer with tears in his eyes. Lucifer started to walk toward Carlos and whisper, "Carlos." Carlos smiled and ran to Lucifer and hugged him tight, crying into this jacket, "Dad. You're really here." Lucifer started to tear up and said, "I am. And I missed you so much, my son." Chloe was a little touched by the reunion, but cleared her throat, "Hello, Carlos. Why don't you take your dad somewhere so you two can catch up and I can continue with my work?" Before Carlos or Lucifer could answer, Chloe walked away.

"What was that about?" Carlos asked. Lucifer sighed, "It's a long story." "Does it have to do with your twin brother telling Chloe that she's a gift from God?" Carlos deduced. Lucifer turned to Carlos, "How did you know?" Carlos answered, "I was there. Chloe and I set up a trap for Michael and right before I ordered him to leave, he spilled that. I am guessing that it's true. Even though Michael lied about a lot of things." Lucifer sighed, "It is. Thank you for helping the Detective deal with my brother. He didn't hurt you, did he?" Carlos shook his head, "No, he tried to bring out my fears, but I'm stronger that he thinks. So what do you want to do?" Lucifer said, "Well, like I told the Detective, I can't stay here for long. Amenadiel is watching over Hell for me. So why don't we go pay Linda a visit? We can catch up on the drive over." "OK," Carlos agreed.

Lucifer had Carlos get into his car and the two talked while Lucifer drove to Linda's office, wanting to discuss with her the situation with Chloe. Carlos talked about Ben and Mal's wedding, his upcoming senior year, and stuff he was working on, plus his confrontation with Michael. Lucifer told Carlos that he needed to go talk to Linda about Chloe. They arrived and went up to Linda's office. Linda greeted them, "Lucifer, you're back. And Carlos, good to see you too. Please sit." So the two sat and Lucifer explained everything.

"So you left Amenadiel in Hell?" Linda asked. Lucifer replied, "Really, Doctor? An evil twin, the detective finding out she's a gift fro God, my son has returned to LA, and that's the part you're stuck on?" Carlos chuckled quietly as Linda said, "Amenadiel. The father of my child." Lucifer sighed, "Oh, yes. Well, not to worry, Doctor, I'll put what Michael did right and get Amenadiel back before Charlie even notices he's gone, OK?" Linda asked, "But what about Michael? Do you even know where he is?" Lucifer answered, "Well, if past is prologue, he's probably hidden himself off somewhere to laugh about the mess he's made, which is why I'm here. Michael didn't coax any awful, soul-poisoning fears out of you, did he?" "Me? No," Linda lied. "No, not out of me." "Good," Lucifer replied. "Well, that's a relief, 'cause I worry that this "not having any free will and being a puppet of fate" thing may have knocked the detective off her stride." "May have?" Linda asked. "Lucifer, when you come back unexpectedly and casually drop celestial bombs on the people in your life, you have to expect some shock, some anger, some frustration." "I could have told you that," Carlos commented. Lucifer replied, "In my defense, this particular bomb was planted by my father and set off by my brother, so…" Linda interrupted, "OK, well, instead of deflecting responsibility, try emphasizing. Try really listening to what your friends are saying." "What?" Lucifer asked. "So if I give people the opportunity, they'll tell me what to do?" Linda nodded, "Exactly, like, bring back my baby's daddy from Hell." Lucifer replied, "Yes, yes. Thank you. We've got to go." "To Hell?" Linda asked. "Because I don't think you should take Carlos with you." Lucifer shook his head, "No, to find out what other chaos Michael may have caused up here. I mean, who knows how many people I'll have to listen to?"

Linda nodded then Carlos spoke up, "He did mention one thing in particular with me." Lucifer turned to Carlos, "You told me that Michael tried to bring out your fears and you held him back." "Yeah," Carlos sighed. "But he mentioned that he was going to find out everything about me. And that has me concerned. If he finds out about Auradon and how to get there, I don't think that will be good." Lucifer thought for a moment, "The only angel who could have access would be Gabriel, because she is the messenger angel and can go anywhere, but I don't think she can go somewhere she doesn't know about. So we will just have to be careful in what is said." "I'm sorry," Linda interrupted. "Auradon? I never heard of it." Carlos realized, "Oh, right, I haven't told you about that. Maybe I should start from the beginning." He ripped the chain with his mother's ring off and his hair turned white again, shocking Linda. "Hi," Carlos greeted. "I am Carlos De Vil, son of Cruella De Vil and Lucifer Morningstar. I come from another dimension of Earth in a place called Auradon where fairy tales/myths/legends that you've read about are actually real." Linda said, "OK. So magic is a thing?" Carlos nodded and said, "Yes, it's a thing. This ring was my mother's and holds her illusion magic. I use it here to hide my unusual hair. So I am going to tell you this, do not tell anyone else about what I have said." Linda and Lucifer felt their bodies obey Carlos' demands and Carlos muttered, "Hopefully that holds." "What was that?" Lucifer asked. "Nothing," Carlos said. "Just talking to myself." "Good," Lucifer said. "Now come on."

Back at WB Studios, Chloe walked to the writer's room where Keri Belwood was, "Keri Belwood? Detective Decker, LAPD." Keri looked up from what she was working on, "I figured I'd be your first stop." Chloe was confused, "Why is that? In my experience, the innocent don't normally expect to be questioned by the police." Keri sighed, "I've written 100 episodes of TV murder mysteries and I got the carpal tunnel to prove it. Motive, opportunity, it adds up." Chloe replied, "Well, you know the math on this. I can see why Matt put you in charge." Keri chuckled, "Yeah, I was the one who was always here doing most of the work, but I was definitely not in charge. Matt was the worst kind of boss: lazy and a control freak." Chloe nodded, "I can see why he'd be hard to deal with." Keri shook her head, "No, not really. He never even came into the writer's room. I'd usually send him a script overnight, and by the morning, it's be completely changed."

Chloe replied, "So you and the writers would work in here well into the night, and then Matt would come and undo all the work?" Keri sighed, "Do you know how dispiriting it is to spend days figuring out a clever clue path just for your boss to replace it with a lap dance?" Chloe hummed, "Yeah, I can see why you doing all that work and feeling like you have no control could possibly make you angry." Keri replied, "My assistant can vouch that I was here writing all morning. So if you're suggesting that I killed Matt to take his job, then you need a new theory. Besides, show runners have all the power, but you know what else they get? The blame." Chloe got confused, "But I thought the show was doing well." Keri sighed, "Well, that's almost worse. You got a network show that's a hit, suddenly everybody at the studio takes an interest. Everybody wants a piece of it, and the second the ratings dip, everyone wants someone to blame. No, thanks. I already got two ex-husbands and three kids. I don't need a drug problem on top of that." That caught Chloe's interest, "Matt had a drug problem?" Keri sighed, "All I know is, one night Matt's email was down, so I had to hand deliver a script at midnight. He has me bring it to a seedy motel full of tweeters and burnouts. Insane writer under intense pressure holed up in a crime infested drug den? Even Diablo could follow that clue path." "I see," Chloe replied. "Well, I'll need you to give an official statement at the precinct, and then also, if you have the address of that motel." "Sure," Keri said.

Meanwhile, Lucifer took Carlos back to the penthouse and Lucifer saw thee broken piano, "Oh, Michael. Of all the things you've done to hurt me, this might cut the deepest." "Sorry, Dad." Carlos said. "And probably me throwing Michael into it didn't help." Lucifer reassured, "No, it's fine. You did what you had to do."

Suddenly they heard knives twirling and turned to see Maze standing there. "Maze," Lucifer greeted. "Oh! I missed you while I was gone. You know, there was a few tough nuts down there, and there were times I could've really used your blades." "Uh, Dad," Carlos said, but then Maze threw one of her knives at Lucifer, who dodged and the knife went into the wall. Maze then charged and started to attack Lucifer, and the two fight each other off. Carlos couldn't stand this and shouted, "Stop!" The two froze and Carlos came in between them, "Maze, this isn't Michael. It's my dad. I don't know what your problem is, but fighting is not the answer. Now, calm down and take a few steps back." Maze obeyed and Lucifer asked, "Would you rather that I was Michael? Based on what Carlos told me about what you did?" "Either," Maze answered. "He left me in the closet, but you went to Hell without me. You left me!" Maze tried to attack again, but Carlos commanded, "Stop! You will not harm my dad!" His eyes flashed red and Maze's body obeyed. Lucifer sighed, "No, I didn't, Mazikeen. You're not my servant anymore. By all means, you're welcome to join me." Maze shouted, "I don't have wings, you idiot!" Carlos chuckled, "OK, she's got you there, Dad." Lucifer retorted, "Well, Amenadiel does. Why didn't you just ask him to fly you down there?" "OK, good point," Carlos commented. Maze scoffed and walked away while Lucifer said, "Look, I'm really trying to listen, so if you're telling me that you'd like to stab me, then just avoid the old parsnip, for old time's sake." "Dad!" Carlos shouted. Maze sighed and walked to the elevator as Lucifer said, "Well, you know, my twin is still likely skulking around. It'd be a big help if you'd like to stab him." Maze got in the elevator, "Stab him yourself." and the doors closed.

"Unbelievable," Lucifer said. Carlos turned to Lucifer, "Are you OK?" Lucifer nodded, "I am. Maze is just angry right now. She'll get over it. Now, before we go find the detective, why don't we have a quick training lesson? I want to see what you've learned since I've been gone." Carlos smirked, "OK."

Lucifer and Carlos met up with Chloe at the motel Keri told her about, and Lucifer shouted, "Ah! Detective. Sorry we're late. Forgot about the traffic. So, where are we going?" "Room 18," Chloe answered. "Oh, right," Lucifer replied. "Good news. Linda's fine, and Maze is, well, Maze. And I figured out how to fix things between us." "How's that?" Chloe asked. "Well," Lucifer answered. "You're going to tell me what to do." Chloe looked at Carlos who shrugged, "Just go with it. His mind's made up." Chloe sighed, "Ah, well, I'm sure that makes sense to someone. Anyhow, so Matt had no family, lived alone. If he had a drug problem, why not stay home?" Lucifer replied, "Illicit venue for illicit acts, I suppose. Be prepared for a good old fashioned Hollywood den of sin. And an introduction of it for you, Carlos." "Great," Carlos commented.

The three entered the room and were shocked at how clean the place was. "Well," Chloe commented. "This place looks pretty tidy. Doesn't look like a drug den to me." Lucifer sighed, "I knew TV writing isn't all hookers and blow like the 80's, but I had no idea how sad it had got." Carlos then heard talking outside and said, "Ah, guys. Someone's coming in here." The three huddled together and Chloe pulled out her gun as Diablo and Dancer barged in and Chloe and Dancer said together, "Freeze! LAPD! Drop the gun!" Chloe then said, "Wait. I'm a real cop with a real gun. That's a prop. Put it down." Dancer chuckled as she dropped her gun, "Sorry. Force of habit." Lucifer commented, "Well, that little showdown will be fueling my fantasies for the next few millennia." "Dad," Carlos groaned. "Gross. TMI." Diablo and Dancer looked at Carlos weirdly as Chloe asked, "What are you two doing here?" "Trying to solve the case, of course," Diablo answered. "We can do it on TV. Why not in real life?" "And how did you find out about this place?" Chloe asked. Diablo held up a cigarette holder, "I found this where Matt was killed. Fell out of his pocket. Just a little thing I like to call evidence." "You stole evidence from a crime scene?" Chloe asked. "To be fair," Lucifer argued. "Detective, that is absolutely on brand. Well, this is really bringing it back. I'd almost forgotten how much fun solving murders is."

"So," Carlos said. "Are these the two actors from that show you were telling me about, Dad?" Lucifer nodded as Dancer asked, "Wait, who are you, kid?" "My apologies," Lucifer said. "This is my son, Carlos. He helps sometimes with our cases." "A kid?" Dancer asked. "Really?" Carlos glared at Dancer, "Yes, really." Chloe pulled Dancer to the side as Lucifer and Diablo both went over to investigate something and Chloe asked, "What are you doing with this idiot?" Dancer sighed, "Well, he was going to come with or without me, and at least if I'm here, I can keep him safe." "I didn't realize you two were this close," Chloe replied. "Oh, yeah," Dancer said. "And if something does happen to him, our show dies for real, and I cannot go through another pilot season." Carlos got weird vibes off of Dancer, but didn't say anything.

Lucifer then said, "I've just realized why this place feels so familiar. This is where Matt was living when I first met him." Diablo added, "Matt mentioned he had a place he liked to hide from the world when he was writing, where none of the execs could find him." "Oh," Chloe replied. "So he didn't hold up here to go on a drug binge. He came here to reconnect with a time in his life where he felt control over his fate." "Returning to the place where it all began," Diablo concluded. "Yearning to find buzz…" "Dude," Carlos interrupted. "I don't mean to be rude, but please stop." Chloe sighed, "OK, you two, out, all right? I have to bag the whole place for evidence, and you both are not cops. So play time's over. Out!" "Don't take offense," Lucifer added. "She used to say the exact same thing to me." Carlos looked at the two, "You heard the lady. Out now!" Diablo and Dancer obeyed his command and left. Chloe turned to Lucifer, "And you, too. Take Carlos with you." Lucifer turned to Chloe, "Right, well, if that's what you're telling me, Detective…" Chloe interrupted, "I am, yes. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by, well, you right now." Lucifer sighed, "Right. Come on, Carlos." Lucifer walked out and Carlos looked at Chloe and whispered, "I get it." and walked out to follow his dad.

Chloe went back to LAPD after bagging Matt's motel room and went over everything with Ella, who said, "I don't get it. Dude had a glamorous job, tons of money, and he ate Panda Express, like, six times a week. People are who they are, I guess." "Yeah," Chloe said. "Do you believe in the idea of predestination? Where you're forced to walk a path that's already laid out for you?" Ella chuckled, "Are you kidding? My childhood and family background, surrounded by criminals and dirt bags, I should've ended up in jail. But instead, I chose to get right with the Big Guy, walk the straight and narrow, and here I am, living proof that people can change old, bad patterns." Ella's phone went off and Chloe said, "You got a text. Oh! Whoa, that's a penis. That's a tattooed penis." Ella grabbed her phone away and chuckled, "Some patterns are harder to change than others." Chloe then saw something on the table and picked it up, "Wow, uh, looks familiar." "Wait, you know Craig?" Ella asked. Chloe gestured to the thing she picked up, "No, this. And no, I don't know Craig and his tattooed penis."

Meanwhile, Lucifer was pouring alcohol into his coffee, waiting for Chloe to come out of the lab. Carlos was sitting in a nearby chair and said, "Dad, you need to chill out." "How can I?" Lucifer said. "She'e taking this gift from God thing too harsh." "Remember," Carlos said. "She did take a while to get used to the fact that you are actually the Devil. So you need to give her some time."

Dan suddenly walked up to Lucifer and said, "Hey, pal. Come on, man, that's my cup." Lucifer looked at it, "Is it?" Dan noticed Lucifer was distracted, "Are you doing OK?" Lucifer replied, "Just fine, up until this moment. I'm just listening to there Detective." "Wait," Dan asked. "You're listening to her from out here?" Lucifer groaned, "Well, I'm certainly not listening to you, so goodbye." Dan interrupted, "I know you're trying to push me away. I brought curiosity in that, and I realized you're just in a projective state, 'cause you're feeling vulnerable right now, and that's pretty scary." Lucifer stared at Dan, "Oh, Detective Douche, if you want to se something really scary, wait until you see what your new all soy diet is doing to your bone density." "You got a lot of ugly pictures in your head, man," Dan replied. "You need to work on positive visualization. I made a lot of progress with that. It can help you." Lucifer stopped, then said, "Actually, maybe you can help me. This cosmic impotence, the knowledge that you're the plaything of a cruel, uncaring God, the suffocating feeling that everything you've ever accomplished is meaningless, you're the perfect person to ask about these things." Carlos shook his head and said, "Dad, not the time."

Chloe then barged out of the lab and said, "So, we have a new suspect in Matt Owen's murder." She handed the piece of evidence she found and Lucifer realized, "A hot cinnamon vape cartridge? Really, Detective, no one is more horrified by this than me, but it doesn't make Diablo our killer." "No," Chloe said. "But Diablo did say that he hadn't been to that room before. Ella found this buried in two days of Matt's trash, so why lie?" "That cheeky devil," Lucifer replied. Carlos sighed, "Now he gets it."

The three went back to WB Studios and Lucifer commented, "I just don't get it, Detective. Why would an actor kill a man who gave him the role of a lifetime?" "I don't know," Chloe replied. "Maybe he didn't like being someone else's puppet?" Carlos sighed, thinking, "She is really not letting this go." They walked over to Diablo's trailer as an PA was knocking on the door, "Sir, please, your scene was supposed to start 40 minutes ago." Lucifer walked forward, "Stand aside, please." The PA moved and Lucifer busted the lock and they all went inside to find Diablo dead. "Oh, man," the PA said.

The police came and investigated the scene as Lucifer asked, "How could nobody notice him missing since lunch? I mean, this man is the entire show. None of these people would even exist without him here." Chloe sighed, "Yeah. OK. Yep, everyone around is just here to service you, I mean Diablo. Anyhow, so, yes, he was stabbed, too, hopefully with the same instrument. If we can find the murder weapon…." "Found the murder weapon!" Ella shouted while coming out of the trailer. "That was fast," Carlos commented. Ella showed them a dagger, "It's actually a prop from the show, supposed to be the only blade that can kill the Devil. How ironic is that, right?" She suddenly stabbed Lucifer with it, but it bent after it came in contact with him. "Sorry," Ella said. "That seemed a lot funnier in my head." "Warn us next time, please," Carlos demanded. Chloe noticed, "That's rubber. It can't be the murder weapon." Ella explained, "Uh, well, this is the stunt murder weapon. See, this is the rubber version they use for action sequences. The one they use for close-ups is sharp and metal, so we find that one, we find our murderer."

Meanwhile, Maze was at Linda's house and they were watching an episode of Lieutenant Diablo and they were watching a scene of Diablo with his demon right hand in the club, and the demon was clearly a version of Maze, but male. Maze said, "Wow. It's like looking at a mirror. Simpler times. Me and Lucifer, together, side by side for eons. Now everyone just comes and goes." Linda knew that she needed to have a chat with Maze, "OK. Maze, you know I'm not going anywhere, right?" Maze sighed, "Maybe not one purpose, but you're gonna drop dead in, what, five years?" "How old do you think I am?" Linda asked. "I don't know, 30?" Maze guessed. Linda sighed, "Maze, you have nothing to worry about. I'm going to be around for a while. And then I'll be down in Hell, and I guess we can spend the rest of eternity together, right?" Maze shrugged, "Sure, I guess." Linda sighed, "I think what you're struggling with is a fear of abandonment. It's completely normal. It comes from someone important to your letting you down in your youth." Maze turned to Linda, "I didn't have anyone important in my youth, Linda. Just my blades. They have never let me down." Linda continued, "It can cause a lot of anxiety in intimate relationships. You know, but it's something we can work on…oh, my." Maze turned to the TV screen and saw the TV version of herself, overly sexual, especially with Maze's counterpart. Maze smirked, "This is gonna be good." "Yeah," Linda agreed. "I'll have some of that."

Back at WB Studios, Chloe was talking with some officers, Lucifer was sitting and reading a Diablo script, and Carlos was sitting, looking bored. Chloe walked back over and Lucifer said, "This one would have been amazing. Diablo was going to solve a crime in space." Chloe sarcastically asked, "And what was Dancer doing, a zero-G striptease?" Lucifer looked up, "Have you read this already?" "Dad," Carlos said. "She was kidding." "Thank you, Carlos," Lucifer sighed as he stood up and walked over to Chloe. "Look, Detective, I want you to know that I understand. I know how powerless I felt when Mom told me the truth about you." Chloe nodded, "That's right, your mother told you the truth. Unlike my partner, who keeps a huge secret about my life from me." Lucifer sighed, "And now that you know, it's hurts you, Detective, and, look, I want to fix things, but you won't let me, so what should I have done?"

But then Dan walked over and interrupted, "Hey, guys? A PA was supposed to be sitting at the door to Diablo's trailer, but she got called away right around the time he was murdered." Chloe replied, "Great, so whoever called her away could be the murderer. Who was it?" "Second AD called her away," Dan answered. "Well, the second it is," Lucifer said. Dan interrupted, "But he got the message from the first AD…." "The first," Lucifer interrupted before Dan continued, "Who was passing on the message that the AD needed to be on set in the first place." Lucifer sighed, "For Dad's sake, who put in the request?" Carlos then asked, "More importantly, who was smart enough to launder it through multiple people?" "Keri Belwood," Dan revealed. "The second on the show," Chloe said.

Chloe walked to Keri's office and Lucifer and Carlos followed. Keri was in the middle of a call that she ended when she saw the three walk in, "Please tell me you're here to put me out of my misery. And who's the kid?" "Could be, yes," Lucifer answered. "And this is my son, Carlos. He's visiting." Carlos waved as Chloe asked, "Why did you take the PA off Diablo's trailer?" "I didn't," Keri answered. "I've been on notes calls all day. You can ask my assistant." Lucifer then said, "The same assistant that provided your alibi for Matt's brutal stabbing? Everyone knows you need to pay your dues in Hollywood, but what kind of promotion do you get for helping your boss beat murder charges?" Chloe added, "You knew exactly how to manipulate the AD chain to get Diablo alone." Keri scoffed, "You guys have got to be kidding me. Why would I kill the star of what's suddenly my show? Look what I'm putting up with now."

Lucifer noticed something about the cabinet behind him, "Hello, what's this?" "Research files for cases on the show," Keri answered. "Excuse me, that's private." Lucifer opened it and Carlos noticed, "Dad, there's blood in the back." Lucifer reached back and pulled out the murder weapon, "Well, it appears that someone's been taking their research a little too seriously." "That is not mine. I didn't put that there." Keri said, and Carlos felt that she was telling the truth. "Really?" Lucifer asked. Chloe walked around and put Keri in handcuffs, "Keri Belwood, you're under arrest." Chloe walked her out and Lucifer noticed the look on Carlos' face, "Something wrong?" Carlos nodded, "I think Chloe just arrested the wrong person. Keri Belwood is being framed."

Chloe stayed behind to talk to more people and Lucifer took Carlos to LAPD. When they got there, Carlos said, "I'm going to go talk to Keri myself. I can get the truth from her." He walked over towards the cells as Lucifer sighed and sat down at Chloe's desk. He pulled out a script he kept from the studio and read it. Dan was at his desk and noticed Lucifer, so he got up and walked over, "I'm trying to say this from a constructive place. I can feel your negative vibrations from across the room, man." He tried to hand Lucifer a bracelet, but Lucifer said, "Well, then you should probably love even further away. I'm just giving the Detective space for the moment. You can give me space forever." Dan replied, "It's just your pain talking." Lucifer sighed and looked up at Dan, "Do you know, of all the ways you humans try to control your lives, these silly New Age superstitions are by far the most embarrassing. I should be having a field day watching you make a fool of yourself like this, but honestly, Daniel, it just makes me sad."

Dan sat down on the desk, "OK. Is it all BS? I don't know. Maybe. Probably. I don't care. Because losing Charlotte made me realize we have so little control over our lives. I was so pissed off about it for so long. But this, it keeps my mind positive, and it helps me. I need every win I can get, man. We all do. Even you." Lucifer sighed, realizing Dan had a point, "Daniel, I am lowering my walls and I'm willing to be reharmonized. I'll take the bracelet." Dan was shocked, "Wait, really?" Lucifer nodded, "Oh, yes, really." Dan handed him the bracelet and Dan saw the script, "What is this?" Lucifer answered, "Those are the personal notes from the actor who played Diablo. He had a fascinating insight into the character. Some wild theories about self-loathing, but we can't get it all right. This script is about Diablo going to space. Such a great episode. It's a pity we'll never get to see it." Lucifer and Dan then had the same idea.

In the cell block, Carlos made his way to Keri's cell. Keri looked up and said, "Hey, you're that kid. What are you doing here?" Carlos smirked, "I wanted to talk to you. I know that you're innocent." Keri sighed, "At least someone believes me." Carlos stepped forward, "But I want you to admit the truth. Did you kill Matt or Diablo?" Keri obeyed, "No." "Good," Carlos said. "Now I want you to tell me about anyone suspicious on the set. Anyone who had the motive to kill those two. Who seems guilty?"

Back at WB Studios, Chloe knocked on Dancer's trailer door and heard a muffled, "Coming." Dancer opened the door and Chloe said, "Hi. I just thought you'd want to know that we arrested Keri for the murders. I wanted to tell you in person." Dancer came out of the trailer and said, "Thank you, Detective. I wish I could say I was surprised, but Keri never stopped bitching about Matt. (Keri impression) "He cut all my jokes. He was a hack. He only let us order Tender Greens for lunch."" Chloe chuckled, "That's actually pretty dead-on. Yeah, I just wish I had more motive why she would want to kill your co-star." Dancer suggested, "Well, maybe he actually figured it out that she did it. I mean, he wasn't the brightest bulb, but he was surprisingly insightful." Chloe sighed, "You two were close. I'm sorry." Dancer said, "The thing is, when you're stuck with someone in a situation you have absolutely no control over, I know it sounds silly to a real cop, but we were partners." Chloe shook her head, "No, it doesn't sound silly. You know, I know exactly what you're talking about."

Back at LAPD, Lucifer and Dan were acting out the script, Lucifer as Dancer and Dan as Diablo. Lucifer wasn't impressed with Dan's acting, "Daniel, the original actor playing Diablo is dead, not you. Please, can we just give it a bit of life?" Dan sighed, "Just set me up for the next line, OK?" Lucifer nodded, "Big smile, just have fun with it." Ella walked in, "Oh, what's going on here? You guys are acting out Diablo episodes without me?" Lucifer sighed, "Well, we're trying." Ella noticed something on the script Lucifer was holding, "Lucifer, you did so much prep on your character. I suppose I'm not surprised, though." Lucifer saw what she noticed, "No, these are Diablo's notes. Here. Previously they'd all been about the character, but these new ones are just gibberish. Yearning equals freedom. Weapon equals Baphomet's blade. Wait, I knew the man was a genius. These are Diablo's note on the case! He was investigating Matt Owen's murder as well, and look. Killer equals number two. Keri was the show's number two. I can't believe it, but he actually solved it! Oh, Diablo, is there anything you can't do?" Dan then asked, "Didn't Keri kill Matt to take his job? I don't think freedom was the yearning, man." Ella agreed, "Yeah, I don't think Keri killed him at all. Based on the stab wounds, I was able to confirm that the victims were killed by someone right-handed, and Keri had repetitive stress injuries in her wrists. I mean, it'd be highly unlikely that she could stab someone with the force that made those wounds, especially with her nona-dominant hand." Lucifer sighed, "Well, it says it right here in black and white. Diablo was certain the killer was number two." "Unless he meant someone else," Dan realized.

Suddenly Carlos ran into the room. Lucifer turned to him, "Ah, Carlos. What did you find out?" "It wasn't Keri," Carlos answered. "That's for sure. So I asked her about anyone else that had issues with the show runner." "Does it related to a number two?" Lucifer asked. Carlos got confused so Lucifer explained, "Diablo wrote in his notes that the killer was number two. If it wasn't Keri, then who?" Carlos thought for a moment, "Well, number two could also be referred to number two on the cast list. Keri did tell me that Dancer had some reservations about her role and was thinking about breaking her contract." Lucifer realized what Carlos was saying and said, "The Detective is with Dancer right now. We need to go back to the studies now!"

Dancer had taken Chloe onto the club set and Chloe commented, "So this is Diablo's club." Dancer nodded, "Hades, where Christie Dancer was a stripper before she joined the police force to solve her father's murder. Don't worry, one of these bottles, there is actual booze in it. A little secret from the scenes where Detective Dancer has to get a confession with a lap dance." She poured two glasses and handed one to Chloe, "Oh, thank you." They drank the drinks then Chloe asked, "So how do you do it? No, not with the alcohol. I mean, the way they write your character. I mean, she only exists to serve Diablo. So what's the secret to getting up every day knowing everything you do and say is only servicing another person?" Dancer chuckled, "Do you think there's a secret? It's literally Hell on Earth. Saying the lines, wearing those clothes, thank God it's over. Now I can really push myself. OK, there's this film. It's a tiny indie, but the part is so great. It's this woman coming back from Afghanistan, dealing with her mother's Alzheimer's. And now that I'm free, I can take the part, and the director's so collaborative. I'm sorry. I'm rambling." Chloe shook her head, "No, it's just, um, you said this was an amazing gig and that you were grateful to have it." Dancer stuttered, "That's true. I was, but you gotta move on. When a gig ends, sometimes it's easier to focus on the bad. It's actor stuff. We're crazy." Chloe replied, "Yeah, yeah. I totally get it. And now you can showcase your talent on a show that lets you. Well, for example, the impression you did of Keri. I mean, that was really good. Dead on. It was. Yeah, in fact, it would be nearly impossible to tell you two apart over the phone."

Chloe started to pull her gun out, but Dancer knocked the gun away and broke the bottle she was holding and started to fight Chloe, Chloe dodged and rolled away and said, "Wait. OK. I understand killing your show runner for holding you back, and I get you hiding the vape cartridge to frame your co-star, but why would you kill him when you wanted us to think he was the murderer?" Dancer groaned, "Because that idiot deduced my yearning and figured out what I did! He was honestly sweet, in a dopey way, but I wasn't gonna let him take away the freedom I almost got myself. I am not spending the next six seasons with my main prop as a stripper pole!" She went to attack Chloe again, but Chloe used the stripper pole to twirl around and kick Dancer off the stage. Chloe got her handcuffs off and handcuffed Dancer.

Lucifer and Carlos ran in with some officers and Lucifer said, "So, Diablo and Carlos were right. The killer was number two, on the actors' call sheet. Good job, son." "Thanks," Carlos said. The officers took Dancer away as Chloe asked, "How long have you been here?" Lucifer sighed, "Long enough to realize you have this totally handled on your own. As much as I appreciate the effort, I think I prefer my own club, and I definitely prefer the way my father made you, Detective. Though I'm sure your tips would have been great. That wasn't the right joke, was it?" "No, it wasn't," Carlos muttered. Lucifer sighed, "I'm just finding the right thing to say. I'm sorry, Detective. I wish you'd tell me what to do." Chloe scoffed, "I don't know if there is anything for you to do. I thought that I found someone who had the answer, someone who knew how it felt, someone who could help me cope with feeling so powerless. But I was wrong." Chloe walked away leaving Lucifer sighing to himself. Carlos looked off to where Chloe went and thought, "I can understand how she feels. Feeling like you have no control over who you are. Because of your background. I guess she really needs time."

At Linda's place, Maze and Linda were laughing and drinking. Maze then said, "OK. You have mentioned a few times now that you are worried about going to Hell. What's the problem? I literally grew up there. I turned out fine." "Yeah," Linda replied sarcastically. "I mean, you're right. You're right. I don't…It's just some stupid thing humans say. But I want to know about you, though. Your abandonment issues." Maze scoffed, "I wouldn't call them abandonment issues. They're not issues. I mean, who cares if Lucifer left me, right? Because he also left Chloe and Carlos. But Chloe left me. Then she left me. Why did she leave me?" Maze started to sob as Linda asked, "Eve?" Maze nodded as she downed the rest of her drink.

Meanwhile, Lucifer took Carlos back to Lux. Carlos took off the ring and let his natural white hair come back and he put the ring in his pocket. They stepped into the elevator as Carlos asked, "So, now what? Are you going back to Hell?" Lucifer sighed, "I don't know. Michael is still out there and I feel that the Detective is not safe, even if she having issues with me. Plus, I am worried about what Michael will do if he finds out more about you. We need to be on our guard. So I would be careful when you go back home. Do you understand?" Carlos nodded as the elevator doors opened.

Lucifer walked over and started to pour a drink as he and Carlos heard whooshing noises. "Ah, Dad," Carlos warned. Lucifer nodded and said out loud, "I was wondering when you'd show our face again, brother." Lucifer unfurled his wings and his left wing hid Carlos as he faced Michael, who smirked, "Welcome home. And I see that you reunited with your spawn. So, how do you like the mess I made, Samael?" Carlos was confused, Lucifer whispered, "That was my previous name before I was cast out of the Silver City." Lucifer and Michael hid their wings as Lucifer said, "Trying to get under my skin, brother?" Michael chuckled, "Well, I hoped turning your life upside down would do that, but your little twerp figured it out." Carlos smirked, "Happy to help." Michael scowled at Carlos then turned back to Lucifer, "Also, if all it takes is a name, maybe I overestimated you. Wondering why I'm doing all of this?" "Not particularly," Lucifer saiid honestly. "Plus, my son ratted you out. He does have a keen eye." "Thanks, Dad," Carlos replied.

Michael chuckled, "Oh, right, you're so above it. I forgot. If we could all be as cool as you." Lucifer scoffed, "Well, isn't that what this is about, Michael? Hmm? It's funny how turning my life upside down actually involved pretending to be me." "It worked, didn't it?" Michael retorted. Carlos chuckled, "Not really." "The only trick you almost pulled," Lucifer added, "All our lives you wanted everyone to think that you were the cleverer one, the big brain, but it's only ever been about me, about trying to be me. You always thought too small." Michael smirked, "Not like you, right? Lucifer the rebel, deciding you can do a better job than Dad? Even be a better father now that you have a brat of your own? You know, thinking about it, I wonder how you got that idea of rebelling in your head in the first place."

Lucifer laughed, "Right, that's your play, is it? Taking credit for my failed rebellion? By all means, it's yours." Michael retorted, "Now, you see, that is the best part. All I did was plant the idea. You're the one who chose to do it. You still get to keep all the blame yourself." Lucifer scoffed, "Your lie are so tedious, Michael." Carlos felt that Michael wasn't lying and whispered, "Dad." But Michael interrupted, "Not as tedious as your denial. 'Cause I'm not lying, brother, and I think, deep down, you are realizing that. Like your kid is. I can see the realization in his eyes. And once you realize that too, you're gonna wonder maybe it wasn't just the rebellion that was my suggestion. What else? What about your little sexcapade in the garden, or, oh, your vacation here to Earth." Lucifer glared at Michael, "That's impossible." Michael chuckled, "It was quite easy, actually. All it took was a little whisper here, a carefully orchestrated coincidence there, and your pathological self-absorption, of course. Voila! All your idea." Lucifer asked, "Why?" Michael smirked, "Because all our lives, you thought that you were better than me. The great Lucifer Morningstar, but you're not, are you? You're just Samael." Lucifer growled, "Stop calling me that." "Dad," Carlos warned but Michael droned on, "All right. Why don't I call you what you know you really are? Unworthy."

Before Carlos could stop him, Lucifer charged in and he and Michael started to fight with Lucifer shouting, "Carlos, don't interfere. Let me handle this." Carlos held his hands up as the fight slowly got more and more brutal, especially when the two angels started to use pieces of the broken piano. When it looked like Michael was about to win, Carlos shouted, "Stop!" Michael froze and Lucifer used that opportunity to slam Michael on the steps leading to the bedroom. Then he out his arm around Michael's neck and said, "You may want credit for my decisions, but I'm confident this one is all mine." He grabbed the demon knife that was imbedded on the wall and slid the blade along Michael's face and the angel screamed in pain.

"Enough!" Carlos shouted and Lucifer stopped the blade and saw the damage he caused. Lucifer let go and stood up as Michael chuckled, "Looks like your kid knows how to control you." Carlos walked over and picked Michael up by the throat and held him up. Carlos glared at him with red eyes and asked, "Tell me the truth. Is there anything in my dad's life that you had no part in?" Michael was forced to answer, "You, actually. No one in the Silver City knew where that portal came from when it appeared in Hell 18 years ago. No one knew where you went or what you did. I didn't even know that you had a kid until Remy told me. So I give you credit, Lucifer. You outsmarted all of us, even yourself as you didn't know that you sired an heir until he came crashing onto your doorstep. But you, Lucifer, will suffer, along with everyone you care about." Carlos squeezed harder and growled, "Not on my watch." He unfurled his wings and Michael stared at the white and black wings. Carlos commanded, "You are going to leave this place. Now!" Carlos let go and Michael took a few steps backwards and disappeared. Lucifer sighed as he wiped some blood off of himself, "He's gone. For now. Do you think your command will last?" Carlos looked right where Michael disappeared, "I don't know. Most of my persuasions have been more short term. I don't know how long they last in the long term. Plus, he's a full angel. The effect may not last long anyway for him. In fact, I told him a couple days ago to leave, so maybe I need to work on the long term effect." Lucifer replied, "In that case, we need to be careful. Especially about what we say. Right, you stay here for a bit. I need to go see Chloe." Lucifer unfurled his wings and disappeared.

He arrived at Chloe's place and walked right in. Chloe was making tea and turned to see Lucifer and the state he was in, "Lucifer. You OK? You look like hell." Lucifer nodded, "Appropriate. So, the good news is, I dealt with the Michael problem. He won't be impersonating me ever again. The bad news is I don't know if and when he will be returning. Carlos commanded him away but I don't know how long that will stay in affect. He's an angel and we can be an interesting bunch. And I've discovered apparently, he's been manipulating me since the dawn of time." Chloe replied, "Oh. Yeah, must be terrible to not control your own fate." Lucifer sighed, "All right. I get it, Detective. You're struggling with feeling like you can't cope. Well, welcome to the bloody club!" Chloe glared at Lucifer, "You have no right to yell at me. Our situations are nothing alike. You are an angel. You deal with celestial craziness all the time. I am just a person, Lucifer. Just a person who is already dealing with the fact that I'm in love with the Devil, and then I find out that I was made to feel that way. That my life isn't my own, so I am sorry if your brother is a jerk sometimes." Chloe looked down as Lucifer said, "I spent thousands of years in Hell, imagining our reunion. Getting my partner back, getting you back. And now I just thought it would go differently." Chloe sniffled, "Yeah. Me too. I thought what we had was real." She walked off leaving Lucifer to sit there alone.

He left and went back to Lux where Carlos was waiting. Carlos saw the sad look in Lucifer's eyes and asked, "Dad, are you OK?" Lucifer sat down on a couch and started to quietly sob. Carlos walked over and hugged his dad, "It's OK. Don't keep it in. Let it all out." Lucifer sobbed, "She's never going to want to be with me again." "Don't say that," Carlos countered. "She's just trying to handle this. She will get over it. She will see that she is still her. She isn't controlled by anybody. Just herself. I know, I took control over my own fate so that I wouldn't turn into my mother." Lucifer chuckled as Carlos made Lucifer look at him, "And I am not going anywhere. I promise. Maybe I have to visit home a few times a week, but I will not leave you. Never ever." Lucifer smiled and Carlos hugged him again, Lucifer returning the hug.

Later on, Maze went to Chloe's place and went inside, "Decker! You home? Come on, it's 9:30. Even you can't be in bed." "She's not here." Maze turned and saw Lucifer sitting in a chair in the dark. "She left quite abruptly, actually. She was quite upset." "Oh," Maze replied as she walked over to him. "I suppose you're the person I wanted to talk to, anyway. I wanted to say that I'm sorry. I shouldn't have tried to stab you. Turns out you weren't the one I was upset with to begin with." "Really? You're not upset with Lucifer?" Maze looked up and saw the Lucifer was really Michael as he leaned into the light and showed off his new facial scar, "Well, you should be." Maze pulled out one of her knives and smirked, "Well, this night turned out better than expected. Now I get to cut out your lying tongue."

She stormed up and put the knife to his throat as Michael cried out, "You were right. I'm a liar, and Lucifer always tells the truth, doesn't he? Oh, yeah, except for when he leaves things out. Like the secret that he kept from Chloe, and the one that he's keeping from you." Maze scoffed, "What secret?" Michael smirked, "Nope. I can't tell you that. You won't believe me 'cause I'm a liar, right? But maybe I could tell you in trade for knowledge about Lucifer's son." Maze smirked, "Nice try. I may have issues with Lucifer that I am trying to get over, but I care about the kid. So you won't be getting any info from me." Michael smirked, "Then I won't tell you." Maze held the blade closer as Michael continued, "But I can tell you how to find it out for yourself."
