A few weeks after Lucifer's trip to Auradon, he finally got a chance to talk to Chloe. He meets her at a beach, blindfolds her and guides her, "Thank you for finally agreeing to meet with me, Detective." Chloe sighed, "Well, after 57 phone calls, twice as many texts, the billboard off Sunset, and the ill-conceived stripper-gram…." Lucifer interrupted, "In my defense, Roberto came highly recommended." Chloe sighed again, "Lucifer, I am ready to talk, and yes, thank you for being patient, for almost two monthes, but I really don't know what you can say that's going to make a difference." "I agree," Lucifer said as he stopped Chloe and removed her blindfold. Chloe looked around and saw a red wrapped gift sitting in the sand in front of her, "I don't think a gift is going to fix this." Lucifer nodded, "We are, once again, in agreement. Hold that, please." He handed her the blindfold and got out a gasoline tank and started to pour gas on it and Chloe asked, "What are you doing?" Lucifer explained, "Years ago, I faced a similar sense of helplessness, a lack of control in my life, so I came here to this very spot. This is where I burned my wings. Now, you don't have wings, obviously, but as a Devil who has learned to embrace metaphors…."

He pulled out a box of matches and handed it to Chloe, who read the package, "One gift burning another." Lucifer nodded, "I hope it brings you the same catharsis it did for me." Chloe sighed, "Well, I appreciate this, Lucifer, but this is not what I need." Chloe handed Lucifer back the box of matches and started to walk away when Lucifer asked, "Well then, what do you need, Detective? Please, just tell me what I can do to fix things." Chloe turned to Lucifer, "There is one thing you can do, but you're not going to like it." Lucifer replied, "Well, tell me." Chloe sighed, "I need time, and I need space." Lucifer groaned, "Great. So I did a whole song and dance number weeks ago for nothing?" Chloe looked puzzled and Lucifer said, "Long story." Chloe sighed, "Just please, give me what I ask. Some space and some time." She turned and walked away as Lucifer whispered, "I don't have time."

Suddenly the box of matches flew out of his hands and Lucifer looked over to see Carlos standing there, with brown hair thanks to the illusion spell with his mother's ring, holding the box of matches. Carlos sighed, "I am going to assume that this was supposed to help you fix things with Chloe?" Lucifer sighed, "Hello, Carlos. And yes, I was trying to use a metaphor where she would burn this basically giving dear old Dad the middle finger. But she just walked away, again." Carlos chuckled, "She is a stubborn one, I will give her that. Maybe you just obey her wishes for now. Even though she's been at this for almost two months. I can keep an eye on her. Since, you know…." Carlos put his head down in sadness. Lucifer sighed and said, "I know. I need to return to Hell and soon. Maybe we can spend these last few days together. I have kept Amenadiel waiting long enough. But first, we need to make a stop."

Lucifer took Carlos to Linda's office, but she wasn't there so they went over to her house. Lucifer banged on the door multiple times before Linda opened it. Lucifer strode right in saying, "My apologies, Doctor. I don't mean to barge into your home like this, but you weren't at work." Linda just stood there in shock as Carlos stepped inside, "Hey, Linda. Sorry about him. He's very determined." Linda nodded, closed the door, turned to Lucifer and said, "It's 7:00 a.m." Lucifer asked, "And?" Linda sighed, "It's good that you're here, actually."

Linda walked over to Lucifer along with Carlos as Lucifer explained, "I need to speak with you about the Detective quite urgently. She doesn't want me around as she's dealing with her identity crisis." Linda tried to say, "Lucifer, you should know…" But Lucifer interrupted, "I should know better, I need to be patient. Yes, I am aware." Linda sighed, "Now what I was going to say, but it's a good point." Lucifer interrupted again, "The problem is, if the Detective focuses on work, then she's just going to avoid dealing with her issues. I need to speed her along to where everything's good again." Carlos sighed while Linda said, "Yeah. Thing is, Amenadiel…" Lucifer interrupted, "Is down in Hell waiting for me to return, yes, I'm aware. Why do you think I'm in such a bloody hurry? Doctor, I need to clear things up with the Detective before I go home, and I also want to spend some quality time with my son, because once I relive my brother, who knows when I'll be back?" Carlos looked behind Lucifer as saw Amenadiel walk in carrying Charlie. Lucifer continued, "It's not like I can just leave Hell unattended and.." "Dad," Carlos interrupted. "You might want to look behind you." Lucifer turned and saw Amenadiel standing there, "Amenadiel." Amenadiel awkwardly said, "Oh. Hey Lucy." Lucifer turned back to Linda, "Why didn't you tell me he was here? And you, Carlos, why didn't you tell me sooner that he was behind me?" Carlos shrugged as Linda said, "You know what, just give me the baby." Linda walked up and took Charlie and walked away. Lucifer asked, "Brother, why are you here?"

Amenadiel sighed and he sat down at the table. Carlos sat down next to him while Lucifer got two glasses and some alcohol. "None for you, Carlos," Lucifer said. "You're too young for this. Although when you become the legal drinking age, we are going all out." Carlos chuckled, "OK." Lucifer sat down and poured the drink and said, "Well, time to explain, Amenadiel." Amenadiel explained, "There I was, wandering the corridors of Hell, when I heard a voice. A voice that I never expected to hear in Hell." "Who was it?" Lucifer asked. "Mother Teresa, Mr. Rogers, Adele? Please don't tell me Hades came here to take over Hell." Carlos laughed as Amenadiel was confused by that statement, but he answered, "Father." Lucifer was shocked, "Dad spoke to you? Well, go on, then. What did he say?" Amenadiel continued, "He told me that Hell no longer requires a warden. And that's it. So I came up here to see my son. I've only been back a few hours, Lucy. I was going to find you next."

"Wait," Carlos interrupted. "So Hell no longer needs a king? So Charlie is safe from being sacrificed by demons. I'm safe?" Amenadiel nodded, "Yes. Those demons will no longer give you or my son any trouble. Carlos, you may still be a prince of Hell, but you will never have to rule it. Father did promise that." Carlos sighed in relief, which Lucifer noticed. He turned to Amenadiel, "Let me get this straight. I just spent millennia down there diligently doing everything He asked without complaint, in order to make sure that your son or my son doesn't have to experience Hell, and you have one sleepover in Hell and Dad tells you your watch is over?" Amenadiel replied, "You know Father works in…" Lucifer interrupted, "If you finish that sentence, I will punch you in your mysterious ways. Well, first the Detective, now this? Talk about salt in the wound. But visiting Carlos' home was the only plus." Carlos smiled as Amenadiel asked, "What happened with Chloe? Is she all right?" Lucifer sighed as he drank his alcohol, "Oh, I wouldn't know. She's been keeping me at arm's length ever since Michael told her she's s gift from God." Amenadiel groaned, "Great." Then Carlos asked, "Can I just say that your brother is a dick?" Lucifer beamed, "Thank you. Couldn't have put it better myself." Amenadiel then asked, "Wait a minute, does she know that…." Lucifer interrupted, "You're the one who delivered the gift? No. Her brain was already plenty melted without adding that to the mix." Carlos was confused, "Wait, did I miss something? Since I only know part of this whole Chloe is a gift from God thing." Amenadiel sighed.

Later on, Linda was at her office when Maze stormed in and said, "I found the bitch." Linda looked up and said, "Well, hi, Maze, and good morning to you, too." Maze continued, "You were right, that abandonment stuff you talked about? Definitely her fault." Linda stood up from her desk, "You found your biological mother." Maze nodded, "Like I said, the bitch." Linda sighed, "Maze, I know your mother abandoned you, but it might help to understand her perspective. Maybe she was too young to handle it." Maze clarified, "My mother was 12,000 years old when she had me." Linda sighed, "Well, parenting at any age can be terrifying." Maze scoffed, "Nothing scared Lilith. Not then, at least." Linda replied, "Well, no matter what, I'm sure she feels terrible about the whole thing." Maze said, "She said she was happy she did it. Why are you defending her?" Linda back tears as she said, "Because I get it." Maze sighed, "You're a great mother, Linda. You would never do that to Charlie." Linda sighed, "No. Not Charlie." Maze was confused, "What are you saying?" Linda then explained, "When I was very young, I had a baby. A girl." Maze was shocked, "And you abandoned her?" Maze stood up in disgust and stormed out of the office before Linda could stop her.

Over at LAPD, Chloe was working at her desk when Amenadiel stood next to her. Chloe was shocked, "Amenadiel, you're back. Wait, does that mean that Lucifer…." "No, no." Amenadiel interrupted. "He's still here. Everything in Hell has been taken care of. And Charlie and Carlos don't have to worry about rebelling demons trying to make them King ever again." Chloe replied, "Well, I have no idea what that means, the first part, but just add it to the list." Amenadiel sighed, "Yeah. I heard. Chloe, how are you doing?" Chloe asked, "Did Lucifer send you to see how my gift from God spiral's going?" Amenadiel shook his head, "He doesn't even know I'm here." Chloe nodded, "Well, luckily, I have this to keep me busy. You know, following clues, catching bad guys. Makes me feel like I have some semblance of control, even if I don't." Amenadiel sighed, "OK, Chloe. Listen, if there's anything that I can do to help, please just…" Suddenly an officer came up and interrupted, "Detective Decker, we caught a body down in Silver Lake." "OK, I'll take it," Chloe told the officer. She turned to Amenadiel, "And, thank you for the offer. But for now, I'm going to stick to police work and avoid anything God-related."

Chloe drove herself to the crime scene, and found out that it was at a convent called Sisters of the Divine Path. Chloe sighed, "Hilarious." She walked in and found Ella taking pictures of the victim, "What do we have?" Ella answered, "Victim is Sister Victoria, aka Victoria Reynard. She was a novitiate who hadn't even taken her final vows yet. Cause of death, blunt force trauma, back of the head. Looks like it happened during a struggle. Contusions on her neck indicate that she was yanked from behind by that necklace." Chloe noted, "The bruising on her neck doesn't match the cross." Ella sighed, "I know. It's got me stumped, too. Maybe there was something on the necklace, and the killer took it?" "Who were you talking to?" Chloe asked. Ella pointed to a group of nuns, "Over there."

Chloe stood and approached the group of nuns, "Excuse me. Which one of you found the body?" One nun answered, "I did. I was the first to leave my cell this morning." "Cell?" Chloe asked. "Oh, sounds like a prison." Ella came up, "Oh yeah, cell. That's an old school term for their rooms. Hi. Long time fan, first time visitor. Almost signed up myself, actually." Chloe interrupted, "Sister Victoria. Had she been upset lately or had a falling out with anyone?" One nun answered, "Well, Sister Victoria did just find out…" Another nun interrupted, "That she was being accepted into our order. She was so happy. We're so blessed God sent you here to find who did this, Detective." Chloe hummed, "Yeah. Well, yes. That's what God does. Yep. Sends me here, sends me there, kills a nun, just so I can meet all of you, and…" Ella then interrupted, "Excuse us, we'll be right back." Ella dragged her away, "What are you doing? You can't insult them like that." Chloe sighed, "I'm sorry. That was unprofessional." Ella nodded, "Yeah, well, more importantly, you're making me look bad in front of the nuns." Chloe replied, "They're hiding something. It's obvious." Ella sighed, "Well, I don't see them opening up to you now." Chloe realized, "Fair point." She walked away and was about to call Amenadiel when Amenadiel suddenly appeared and Chloe said, "Ah. Of course. Angel and all that?" Amenadiel smirked, "How can I help you, Chloe?"

Back at LAPD, Lucifer was standing near Chloe's desk and Carlos was standing next to him, "Dad, what are you trying to do again?" Lucifer sighed, "I am going to go talk to Daniel to try and speed along with case. For the sake of the Detective." Carlos sighed, "If that's what you wish. I'll just sit back and watch."

Lucifer nodded and walked up to Dan's desk and sat on it, "Daniel." Dan sighed, "Yes?" Lucifer continued, "The Detective doesn't want me helping on her case right now." Dan chuckled, "I really can't imagine why." "You can't, actually," Lucifer said. "But, uh, I need to speed along her work, which I when I realized that you, for once, could be the answer to my problem. Bracelet bros for the win. No. Regardless, I thought that you and I could help her case from behind the scenes." Dan asked, "Well, what do you think you're sitting on? This is Chloe's case. I mean, I'm digging through background checks, witness statements." Lucifer then asked, "This is what you do every day?" Dan sighed, "What did you think I did?" Lucifer answered, "Well, I don't know, solve your own bloody murders? Daniel, you're just a glorified librarian." Dan replied, "I do solve my own cases, Lucifer. But we also support each other, and this, all of this, this is what real police work looks like." Lucifer sighed, "Right, well, real police work looks very boring." Dan said, "Look, you want to help speed along the case or not?" Dan handed Lucifer a file and Lucifer took it and started to look it over.

Carlos was sitting in a chair nearby chuckling to himself, "My dad is a mystery sometimes. Why he isn't asking me for help to speed things along is interesting. Oh well. Maybe I could help out in my own way. Let's see what Chloe is up to." He pulled out the mirror and whispered, "Mirror, mirror, in my hand, where does Chloe Decker stand?" The mirror showed Chloe at the convent with Amenadiel.

Amenadiel was looking around and said, "Standing in these walls, it reminds me of being in the Silver City." Chloe was confused, "Wait, this is what Heaven looks like?" Amenadiel chuckled, "No, but there's so much love for my father here, it feels similar. And yet also so very different. How can I help you, Chloe? I do have to remind you that, uh, I can't slow down time like I used to." Chloe said, "What? I didn't even know that that was an option. Wow. Well, what can you do?" Amenadiel smirked, "Well, I am God's greatest warrior." Chloe scoffed, "Well, as much as I love the mental image of you punching a bunch of nuns, the issue is they're freezing me out, and I thought with you being an angel and all, maybe you could use that." Amenadiel sighed, "Chloe, I can't expose myself to them. My angelic side, I mean." Chloe shook her head, "That's not what I meant. I was thinking more along the lines of, like, Lucifer's mojo. Do you have the same effect on people?" Amenadiel shook his head, "I'm sorry, I don't." Chloe then noticed a bunch of nuns had started to gather around them, "Are you sure?" Amenadiel noticed it too and was shocked.

Back with Linda, she managed to get Maze to come back to her office so she could explain, "Thank you for coming back, for being willing to listen. I haven't told anyone this. I got pregnant when I was 17, and I spent the entire pregnancy in denial. Even when I started to deliver, I thought there had to be a mistake. But then, after the birth, when I held her, well, there was no denying that she was mine and I was her mom. But then they took her to the NICU and the whole thing seemed like a dream. One that I was completely unprepared to handle." Maze sighed, "Your baby was a nightmare. Got it." "No," Linda said. "God, no. No, she was perfect and beautiful and I didn't have the strength to raise her. And I didn't have the strength to face giving her up. So when the nurses were away I left." Maze asked, "So you just walked away? Is that why you think you're going to Hell?" Linda nodded, "I thought I could pretend it never happened, but the truth is I think about her every single day. I've even tried to find her a couple of times. I wonder where she is now. How she's doing." Maze turned to Linda, "She seems good." Linda was confused, "What?"

Back at the convent, Amenadiel and Chloe started to interview the nuns, but eventually is was just Amenadiel as they opened up more with just him there. All the nuns said that they couldn't think of anyone that would hurt Sister Victoria, but Amenadiel did get the secret they were hiding out of them and he told Chloe, who said, "So the mother superior of the nunnery is a murderer?" Amenadiel nodded, "Apparently, Mother Angelica committed the crime years ago, and then ran away and joined this convent. She's been here ever since. Most of the nuns knew about it, but they were just protecting her." Chloe replied, "Well, until you gave them some of your mojo." Amenadiel chuckled, "Yeah, I can't explain that. That's never happened before." Chloe said, "Well, they're nuns, you're an angel. Maybe they sense that." Amenadiel hummed, "Maybe. I'm just glad it helped." Chloe added, "Well, maybe our victim found out the truth and wanted to go to the police, Mother Angelica tried to silence her? I'll have Dan dig into it, see if that helps."

"That won't be necessary." The two turned to see Mother Angelica standing there, "I'm sorry that my sisters tried to hide my past sins. It's only out of concern for me. Please do not judge them too harshly. Shall we?"

Carlos smiled as he watched what was happening at the convent. He saw Chloe and Amenadiel take Mother Angelica away. He was surprised to see those nuns act like that around his uncle and realized that must be his power, like his dad's was with desire. But he was a little upset at Chloe as she really wasn't getting over the problem she had with Lucifer and seemed to be taking it out a little on the nuns. He sighed in frustration as he felt she's been like this for too long. He looked up and saw his dad with Dan looking over paperwork and Lucifer was miserable. Carlos chuckled to himself as he heard his phone go off. He quickly answered it, "Hello?" "Hey Carlos," Jane's voice came on the other end. "How's spending some last minute quality time with your dad going?" "Good," Carlos said. "But apparently my uncle came back from Hell and said that God told him that Hell no longer needs a warden so my dad doesn't have to go back." "That's great," Jane said. "So he's going to be back permanently?" "It seems so," Carlos replied. "But he's still working on trying to fix the situation with Chloe. And not succeeding." "Poor man," Jane said. "So what are you doing right now?" Carlos chuckled, "Watching my dad trying to do actual police work through looking over paperwork. And being amused at his boredom."

Lucifer looked up from what he was reading and said to Dan, "I can't believe there's so much paperwork for one single convent. I mean, they're nuns, after all. How many interesting things can happen to them, really?" Lucifer took one paper and made a paper airplane and threw it. Dan sighed, "A single convent? These are all just the files on Mother Angelica." "What?" Lucifer asked. "This is going to take forever." "Yeah," Dan agreed. Lucifer added, "It'd be much faster in person, Daniel. I an seduce the truth out of them." Dan chuckled, "Bro, there are 30 nuns there. I doubt that's faster." Lucifer scoffed, "Well, it's certainly more fun." Dan argued, "Come on, this is fun. A murder, man, it's like a gigantic puzzle, only you don't know what the corner pieces are, or what it's going to look like when it's done." Lucifer sighed, "You just descried torture. Trust me, I know." Dan continued, "It could take hours, days, years even, man." "Definitely torture," Lucifer repeated. "I see all your self-help nonsense had gone for naught." Dan added, "But nothing in the world feels better than when you find that one piece, and then boom! Suddenly it all clicks together." Lucifer wrote something on the board he had and said, "Oh, hello. Oh, I think I found the piece, Daniel." He showed Dan and Dan read, "This is sad." Lucifer then said, "Let me talk to them." Dan sighed, "Shortcuts are not the answer, Lucifer. Hard work pays off."

Lucifer sighed and he looked over and saw Carlos on the phone. Dan looked at Carlos, "It seems your son is having a good time at least." Lucifer sighed, "Judging by his smile, he's talking to his girlfriend." Dan was intrigued, "He has a girlfriend? That's sweet. Have you met her?" Lucifer nodded, "She's his age, and despite her innocent nature, she does really care for my son. In more ways than I will ever know."

Carlos saw Lucifer and Dan looking at him and he told Jane, "I gotta go. I'll talk to you soon. Bye. Love you." He hung up and said to Lucifer and Dan, "What?" Dan smirked, "Girlfriend, huh? That's cute." Carlos blushed a little of embarrassment.

They heard the elevator doors open and they saw Mother Angelica being led to the interrogation room. Lucifer smirked, "The Detective already has a suspect. Excellent. Come on, Carlos." Lucifer stood as well as Carlos and they walked over when Lucifer stopped as Amenadiel walked out of the elevator. "Brother," Lucifer said. Amenadiel smiled, "Oh, Lucy. And Carlos, hello." Carlos smirked as Lucifer asked, "What on Earth are you doing here?" "Chloe asked me to help her on her case," Amenadiel answered. Carlos chuckled, "I could have told you that, Dad." Lucifer and Amenadiel looked at Carlos, who said, "What? I got bored while you were looking at paperwork so I spied on Chloe and saw what happened. You've got some weird mojo Uncle Amenadiel." Lucifer was confused but Carlos mouthed, "I'll explain later." Lucifer turned back to Amenadiel, "But I need this case solved quickly. Much as I appreciate you playing Detective Amenadiel, perhaps you should leave it to the professionals." "Like the Devil?" Amenadiel countered. "I'm a consultant," Lucifer argued. "I understand human desire. You're just…" "Just the one who found our latest suspect," Amenadiel interrupted. "Oh, really?" Lucifer chuckled, but he could tell that Amenadiel wasn't lying. Carlos laughed, "Again, I could have told you that." Amenadiel smirked, "You know, Chloe and I actually make a really great team. I can see why you enjoy working with her. If you'll excuse me, I'm just gonna…" Amenadiel walked away as Lucifer turned to Carlos, "So what did you see?"

Amenadiel and Chloe started to interview Mother Angelica, who told her story, "I grew up in Puerto Rico, in the worst neighborhood you could imagine. When I was 16, I killed a man in self-defense. I fled here to escape retribution, and eventually found reconciliation in the arms of God." Chloe then said, "But Sister Victoria found out the truth." Mother Angelica nodded, "She did. I informed her last week." Chloe replied, "But she didn't accept it, did she? She was going to report you, and you felt like you had to defend yourself once again, didn't you?" Mother Angelica shook her head, "She was so understanding, as all my sisters have been. Detective, I didn't kill her. In fact, I was leading prayers when Sister Victoria was murdered." Chloe sighed, "Well, unfortunately, your alibi is a bunch of nuns who have proven that they'll cover for you." Chloe then gestured to Amenadiel so he could get her to talk. Amenadiel looked at Mother Angelica and asked, "Are you sure there isn't anything else you want to tell us?" Mother Angelica smiled at Amenadiel, "I can see why my sisters were so eager to talk with you. If there was more to tell, I would, but that's all I have. Everything else is in God's hands. If this is the path He wants me on, He must have his reasons." Chloe didn't believe her, "You're really willing to give up your free will, just like that?" Mother Angelica looked at Chloe, "I am willing to have faith. I know that look in your eyes. Over the years our convent has taken in many women like you, women who feel powerless, adrift. You have more control than you think, my child." Chloe scoffed, "Which is it? Control or faith? You can't have it both ways." Mother Angelica smiled, "I have faith in you, Detective. You help the helpless. It takes great strength to do that, and I think you have the strength to find who really did this."

Outside the room, Carlos finished telling Lucifer what he saw in his mirror. Lucifer scoffed, "So Amenadiel has his own mojo? Well, at least it only works with nuns." Lucifer then thought of something, "Wait a minute, we can solve this case using your mirror. We can ask it to tell us who the killer is." Carlos shook his head and Lucifer asked, "Why not?" Carlos explained, "The mirror can really only show you things happening in the present. Not the future, and not the past. Ok, maybe a couple hours into the past, but that's it. This murder happened yesterday and that's not the present anymore. Sorry." Lucifer scoffed, "Some all powerful mirror." Carlos argued, "Hey, Evie's mother did say it wasn't all it used to be. And even then, it could only show things in the present. I only got lucky that one time when you went off to fight that Julian guy that what happened on that pier was a couple hours old. I don't dictate the rules of this thing. Neither did the Evil Queen for that matter."

Lucifer sighed as he walked back to Dan's desk and looked to the interrogation room, "What is taking so long?" Carlos walked over as Dan smelled his coffee and asked, "Did you spike my coffee?" Lucifer sighed, "It's the only way to get through yet another tedious and useless task. You're welcome." "Dad," Carlos said. "Really?" Dan looked back down at the files, "Phone records. Come here. They give us a sense of who she was, or who might have had a reason to kill her. It's all about paying attention to the details." Lucifer replied, "Well, how about this detail? The Detective already caught the killer. You sure I'm the one who's not paying attention?" "It wasn't her," Carlos whispered. "I didn't get a weird vibe from the nun. She felt normal." "Great," Lucifer whispered back. Dan then said, "Look, this number right here. Come here. This one, it keeps showing up. First at regular intervals, then with increasing frequency leading up to the time of her death. Then on the day before her death, it's all missed calls. Victim wasn't answering her phone. Maybe somebody got tired of being ignored." Lucifer looked at the phone records, "Well, that can't be right. That's Destiny Page's number. No one in their right mind would ignore her." Dan was confused, "Wait, Destiny Page, the pop star? How would you know her number?" Carlos sighed, "You probably don't want to know." "Agreed," Dan said. "I gotta tell Chloe." Dan walked over to the interrogation room and Lucifer shouted, "Well, as long as it speeds things along." "It actually might be a new lead," Dan shouted back. "Great work, Lucifer." Lucifer got pissed, "Take that back!" Carlos chuckled, "Dad, just take the compliment."

Dan pulled Chloe outside the interrogation room for a moment to tell Chloe about the lead. Chloe went back inside and said, "So, Destiny Page. So you know the name. Why am I guessing it's not because you're a fan of her music?" Mother Angelica answered, "Because she wanted to buy our convent. But I didn't think anyone knew about it other than me." "You turned her down?" Amenadiel asked. Mother Angelica nodded, "Yeah, she was very upset. Wait, do you think she had anything to do with Sister Victoria's death?" "We don't know," Chloe answered. Chloe gestured for Amenadiel to come talk to her, Amenadiel got up and he and Chloe stood on the far side of the room. Chloe whispered, "Why would Destiny Page be calling a nun at a convent that she wants to buy?" Amenadiel thought about it, then said, "Well, her latest album was a testament to a new-found faith, and the one that she's working on is supposed to continue in that vein. Please don't tell Lucifer." Chloe chuckled, "Your secret's safe with me. So if Destiny is a new convert, we should go talk to her."

Meanwhile, Maze dragged Linda to an open house where Maze found out that her daughter was a real estate agent. "Ready?" Maze asked. Linda sighed, "Her name is Adriana. I always wondered what they named her." Suddenly Adriana opened the door and said, "Hell, great to see you." Linda was shocked, "I, you..I can't believe…that you look exactly like you do on the bus posters." Adriana laughed, "That's sweet, thank you." Maze greeted, "This is Linda. She's your…." "Potential buyer," Linda interrupted. "I'm sorry, I know we don't have an appointment." Adriana waved it off, "It's fine, come on in."

They entered and Adriana guided them to the kitchen, "If you ladies wouldn't mind signing in, thank you." Maze tried to mime to her to talk to her, but Linda lied, "Seeing a house for the first time can be very overwhelming. I just need time to warm up the space." Adriana said, "Take all the time you need, and if you have any questions as we go, feel free to ask." "I do," Maze said. "Adoption. Yay or nay?" Linda interrupted, "What my partner is trying to say is, how's the school district? Because we're considering adoption." Adriana nodded, "Schools are great. All the way through grade 12. And personally, I think it's wonderful that you're thinking of adopting. I was adopted, actually. Best thing that's ever happened to me." "Really?" Linda asked. But Maze then asked, "Yeah, but do you have a problem connecting with people?" "Over Wi-Fi?" Linda lied. "How's the signal?" Adriana shrugged, "I don't think there's been any problems." "How about maintaining relationships?" Maze asked. But Linda said, "OK, can you please give us a minute?" "Of course," Adriana said.

Linda dragged Maze outside and asked, "What are you doing?" "Trying to get you to connect with your kid," Maze answered. "Oh really?" Linda scoffed. "Because it seems like you're making it about yourself, while trying to torture me in the process." "Or," Maze countered. "I am trying to get you to tell your daughter the truth." Linda sighed, "I can't. You tracked down your mother because you were ready to see her. But who knows when or if Adriana will ever be ready to see me? I'm realizing it needs to be up to her." Maze glared at Linda, "Coward." Linda realized, "I'm not Lilith. If you have something you need to say to your mother, you should say it to her." Linda walked back inside the house, leaving Maze standing there alone with her thoughts.

Back at LAPD, Mother Angelica was escorted back to the convent and Lucifer beamed at Amenadiel, "Ah, wrong suspect. You sure your powers are gone? Your old ones, I mean. 'Cause it feels like you're slowing down time." "Because you always get the first suspect right away?" Amenadiel countered. Carlos muttered, "Oh, burn." Lucifer argued, "Well, I've certainly never arrested a nun, that's for sure." "That's true," Carlos muttered. Amenadiel sighed, "Lucifer, I want Chloe to resolve her issues just as much as you do." "Because you're feeling guilty?" Lucifer asked. "Why would I feel guilty?" Amenadiel asked. Lucifer answered, "Because you're the one who performed the miracle on the Detective's mom in the first place." "That wasn't my…" Amenadiel argued but then Chloe shouted, "You what?" Carlos muttered, "Nice going, you two."

Chloe dragged the two angels into the interrogation room and Carlos followed. Chloe first asked Carlos, "Did you know any of this?" Carlos shrugged, "It's all new to me too. So just chill out a little." Chloe sighed, turned to Lucifer and Amenadiel, and said, "Go ahead, talk." Amenadiel then explained, "Years ago, at Father's behest, I came down to Earth to lay a blessing on one Penelope Decker." Chloe was confused, "When my mom and dad were trying to have kids, they said they'd just about given up." Amenadiel nodded, "And soon after my visit, you were born." Chloe looked at Amenadiel, "Amenadiel, you're my dad?" Amenadiel laughed out loud, Lucifer chuckled softly, while Carlos rolled his eyes. Amenadiel cleared his throat, "Of course not." Chloe was still confused, "So laid a blessing isn't a euphemism?" Lucifer clarified, "Well, not in this case, at least." Amenadiel sighed, "No, Chloe, no. Lucy, stop. Listen, Chloe, your parents are still your parents, and I'm sorry that I didn't tell you any of this earlier. I just…" Chloe stopped him, "It's OK. So, I'm the only one immune to Lucifer's mojo." "Not just you," Carlos said from where he was standing. "Perk of being his kid." "So," Chloe continued. "Do I have any powers, or anything cool? Like Carlos? I don't know, laser beam hands, something?" Carlos chuckled, "No, Chloe. The only reason I am the way I am is due to being Lucifer's son, while also being the son of Cruella De Vil. I'm pretty sure you don't have any magical or celestial blood in you." Chloe sighed, "No. Of course not. They were just concerned with creating the perfect Mrs. Morningstar. Why me?" Amenadiel sighed, "I don't know, Chloe."

Lucifer added, "Detective, when I found out about this…manipulation, I felt the same way as you. But then I realized that it's far from a curse. It's a gift. I only hope that, in time, you come to see it that way, too." Chloe scoffed, "There is a hug difference, Lucifer. You were given a gift. I am that gift. I mean, I'm not even a person. I'm just a thing, created for someone else. I got to get back to work."

Chloe started to get up, but then Carlos, his anger at Chloe being stubborn reaching a boiling point, commanded, "Sit down." Chloe sat back down as her body obeyed Carlos' command. Everyone heard the camera above them spark and they all saw Carlos walk around with his eyes glowing red. Carlos chuckled, "You know, I was patient in that you would eventually get over this and seeing how you're taking this is BS. Because it is. So you were made in connection to Lucifer. So what? That's not all what this is. There's more to this than what you're seeing. So you think you were born with a particular destiny in life? Join the club. Remember, not only am I the son of Lucifer Morningstar, I am also the son of Cruella De Vil, the woman who stole 99 puppies to make a coat for herself. And people labeled me as the son of a puppy killer. And they all thought I would follow in her footsteps because we have the same blood. My mother even tried to make me afraid of dogs so that I would hate them, just like her. But I found out the truth, and I realized that I am more than just my lineage. My destiny is not set in stone because of that. Same with my friends. Example, my friend can change into a dragon because her mother is the dark fairy, Maleficent. But is my friend evil like her mother? No. She chose her own path. She realized the truth. So if you are still feeling like you don't have control over your life because of how you came to be, join the club and get over it." Carlos stormed out of the interrogation room. Chloe was startled and she stood up and left. Lucifer and Amenadiel looked at each other and Lucifer said, "Well, that went well."

Chloe went to the venue Destiny Page was practicing at, trying to get her emotions under control. She was still shocked at how Carlos went off on her, and she realized that he was right ini the fact that he understands how she feels as once upon a time, he was in the same boat. Shaking her head from her thoughts, Chloe saw Destiny go backstage and she followed her to her dressing room. She saw a guard stand outside her door and Chloe said, "Detective Decker, LAPD. I need to speak with Destiny Page." The guard shook his head, "I'm afraid Miss Page needs total privacy while she prays." Chloe looked at the guard's name tag and said, "Well, Hank, uh, as much as I respect that, I need to talk to her." Hank huffed, "Well, her schedule is pretty packed. Maybe next Saturday? Unless you have a warrant."

Inside Destiny's dressing room, she was looking in the mirror when she heard a noise behind her. She turned to see Amenadiel standing there, who said, "It's all right, I've listened to your music. I know you're a person of faith, so I'm pretty sure that I should have a calming effect on you." Destiny then shouted, "Hank!" Hank ran in and said, "Hey, what are you doing in here, pal?" Chloe ran in and said, "Wait, he's with me." "Is he?" Hank asked. "What's he doing in here?" Amenadiel pried Hank's hand off of himself as Chloe asked, "What are you doing in here?" Amenadiel answered, "Well, I thought she might tell me about the murder, given how pious she's supposed to be. But her recent music is clearly just a collection of beautiful lies." "Murder?" Destiny asked. "Was someone killed?" "Yeah," Chloe answered. "Victoria Reynard." Hank walked over to Destiny, "Destiny, you do not…" Destiny stopped him, "It's OK. That's why she stopped taking my calls." "So you admit to knowing her?" Chloe asked. "Yeah," Destiny replied. "She's my assistant." Chloe said, "So Mother Angelica refused to sell, and what, you sent your assistant to gather intel?" Destiny shrugged, "It seemed like a good idea at the time, until Victoria fell in love with the life." "And then what?" Chloe asked. "You killed her 'cause she betrayed you?" "What?" Destiny was shocked. "You think I killed her? I loved Victoria, and I was happy for her. Eventually." Amenadiel then asked, "But if it was all an act, why were you praying when I came in?" Destiny sighed as she pulled out an alcohol bottle, "I wasn't. I've been sore for a month. I was so tempted. I guess I should thank you for stopping me." Chloe then asked, "Where were you yesterday at 10 a.m?" "AA meeting," Destiny answered. "Got my one month chip and everything." "Can anyone vouch for you?" Chloe asked. "I go in disguise," Destiny answered. "Black bob wig, pink hoodie." "What about that one month chip?" Amenadiel asked. "That would prove you were there." Destiny sighed, "I went to goat yoga after. It feel out of my pocket, and you know they eat everything." "Are you saying that a goat ate your alibi?" Amenadiel asked. Chloe then pulled out her phone and called Dan, "Hey. I need a favor."

Lucifer was looking around for any sign of Carlos. He found Carlos outside on the roof of LAPD. He unfurled his wings and flew up to the roof and sat down next to Carlos, "So, do you want to talk about what just happened?" Carlos sighed, "I guess I should. I'm sorry that I got angry at her. I guess I get lack of patience from you." "Hey!" Lucifer scoffed. "That's not all you get from me. You get my good looks." Carlos chuckled, "That's true." Lucifer sighed, "So what you said is true?" Carlos nodded, "Yeah. In Auradon, every kid of my generation, good or bad, seemed to be destined to be like their parents at first. All the hero kids were supposed to be like their parents. And us VKs, you get the idea. That's how all the Auradon people judged me and my friends when we were first brought over from the Isle. But we proved that we weren't our parents. We weren't what they tried to make us be. And I think Chloe should realize that too. Just because she is a gift, or not, doesn't mean that she can't write her own destiny." Lucifer was confused, "But you first came here to LA to find me and help you with yours." Carlos nodded, "Yeah. Like Chloe, I found out about a certain piece in the puzzle that is me. My powers weren't in great control and I needed help. And you had the answers. But I made that my destiny to learn about you and get your help. Chloe needs to realize that she is more that what she is. And I think she isn't the gift, per say." "What do you mean?" Lucifer asked. "I'm still trying to figure that out myself," Carlos answered. Lucifer sighed, "Well, just remember that even though you are my son, you don't have to follow in my footsteps. Going back to Hell proved that. But I am still taking you bar hopping when you turn 21." Carlos laughed, "OK, fine."

Lucifer and Carlos went back inside just as Dan rushed up to them and said, "Chloe just called. She needs a favor." "What kind of favor?" Lucifer asked.

The three of them ended up at the goat yoga place and Dan was wearing gloves fishing through goat feces as Lucifer said, "I suppose I deserve this." "Deserve what, exactly?" Dan asked. Lucifer answered, "The humiliating tasks, the tedium, the stink." "It could be worse," Carlos said. "I've had to do some nasty things while volunteering at a dog shelter." Lucifer sighed, "I shouldn't have tried to rush the Detective. But you, on the other hand, could move faster, Daniel." Dan argued, "Lucifer, if you want this to go faster, you could actually help, for a change. And Carlos could help too." Lucifer was about to argue, but Carlos handed him a pair of gloves and Lucifer sighed, "Very well."

Meanwhile, Maze went back to her mother's place in Reno and saw that people were moving stuff out of it and Maze found a woman directing the movers and said, "Excuse me. Uh, where's the woman that lived here?" "Lily Rose?" the woman asked. "She died a couple days ago. Left a ton of junk. Was she someone to you? You want any of this stuff?" Maze sighed, "No. Maybe, uh, can I just have a minute please?" The woman nodded, "Sure. Hey guys, come on." The woman and the movers left and Maze looked around the place, at all of her mother's stuff, even threw a picture frame against the wall in anger as she was processing her feelings.

Back at the goat yoga place, Lucifer couldn't take any more of going through goat feces so he pulled himself away and washed his hands, several times. He ran into a yoga instructor who said, "Nice bracelet." Lucifer smirked, "I wouldn't normally wear it, but my friend Daniel said he needs his chakras realigned, so I'm doing it for him, really." Suddenly Dan appeared and said, "I thought you were helping. This is how you help?" Carlos came ups behind Dan shrugging at Lucifer, who sighed, "Daniel, I was…what do you call it? Canvassing. And it paints me to say you were right. I put in the work, and it paid off." "What do you mean?" Dan asked. "Well," Lucifer explained. "During my break, I interviewed everyone, and when I spoke to lovely Amberley here, she confirmed that someone attended class with black hair cut into a bob and wearing a pink hoodie." Dan sighed, "Great." "Well," Lucifer replied. "According to the transcript the Detective sent over, that's what Destiny Page was wearing." Dan was confused, "Wait, you actually read the transcript?" Lucifer held up his phone to show him the transcript, "No shortcuts, Daniel." Dan chuckled, "Well, perfect timing, because you discovered that, and Carlos and I just confirmed that Destiny Page isn't our killer." Carlos held up an evidence bag with the AA coin in it. Lucifer sighed, "So we're back to square one." Dan nodded, then was looking at Amberley weirdly. Lucifer whispered, "Daniel, would you stop staring? Can't you see the woman's engaged?" "Yep," Dan said. "That's exactly what I see." Carlos looked over at Amberley and saw that she was wearing a ring on a chain, like his. He pulled his out and Lucifer said, "I think I know what the two of you are thinking."

Back at LAPD, Chloe was going over evidence and Amenadiel was sitting next to her, watching her. Chloe noticed and asked, "What?" Amenadiel smiled, "I admire you." "Oh, yeah?" Chloe asked. Amenadiel nodded, "Yeah. You hit dead end after dead end, but you still keep on searching. Doesn't deter you. In fact, it only drives you to try harder." Chloe looked at Amenadiel, "You make me sound like a sadist." Amenadiel chuckled, "No. You see, for eons, I was God's right hand, you know? And for most of the time, I had no idea why I was doing what I was doing. But watching your perseverance, to see you keep digging for the truth, it's inspiring. And I wish I would have had the same curiosity, because then maybe I would have had the answers that you're looking for, Chloe. But unfortunately I don't. And neither does Lucifer."

Suddenly Lucifer and Dan ran up to the two and Lucifer said, "I know who the killer is." Dan corrected, "We know who the killer is. OK, so that mysterious contusion around Victoria's neck? It's consistent with a ring." "An engagement ring," Lucifer clarified. "Which you wear around your neck to stop goats from eating it off your hand." "Or," Dan added. "When you're undercover in a nunnery." "Those aren't the only two reasons, obviously," Lucifer clarified. Dan smirked, "Bracelets bros for the win." And he and Lucifer pounded their bracelets together as Carlos walked up and said, "Ok, that was weird." Chloe was still trying to get over Carlos' verbal assault on her so she just looked at Dan and Lucifer, "Well, I could see why a fiancé would be upset she had embraced the life of a nun. However, we have no proof, no idea who the fiancé is. We don't even know if the fiancé is a him."

Suddenly they heard a voice say, "Excuse me." They turned to see a nun, Sister Francine, standing there, "Is there somewhere we could speak in private?" "Of course," Chloe said, but Sister Francine clarified, "I meant with him." She pointed to Amenadiel, who smiled in his chair. He stood up and guided her to the interrogation room. Carlos then stepped forward and whispered to Chloe, "Can I talk to you? Alone? Please? After Amenadiel talks to the nun?" Chloe sighed, "All right."

In the interrogation room, Amenadiel told Sister Francine, "You're nervous. It's all right, Sister Francine. You can trust me." Sister Francine smiled, "I've wanted to do this ever since I met you, but I'm scared." Amenadiel sighed, "I understand. I do, but listen, once you admit the truth, you are gonna be amazed at how good it feels." Sister Francine replied, "I've never anything like this before." Amenadiel smiled, "I haven't either." Sister Francine sighed, "It's just, I'm a woman of faith." Amenadiel replied, "Well, you see, that's all the more reason. Because you, Sister Francine, you of all people know what you need to do." Sister Francine whispered, "Right here? Right now?" Amendiel nodded, "Yes. Just let it all go."

Suddenly Sister Francine reached up and kissed him. Lucifer, Chloe, Carlos, and Dan were watching from the two way mirror and Dan was about to go in and stop this, but Lucifer said, "Remember, Daniel, there are no shortcuts. Let him put in the work." Dan sighed, "Good point." Chloe sighed while Carlos tried to hide his laughter. Amenadiel pushed Sister Francine away, "What are you doing?" "I'm letting go," Sister Francine admitted. "Like you said, I', admitting the truth of my feelings for you." Amenadiel shook his head, "That's not what I meant." Sister Francine sat down with shame, "This is wrong. I'm a nun. I love God, it's just when I look at you, I get this feeling that I've never had before. What does that say about me?" Amenadiel then asked, "What are you feeling?" Sister Francine sighed, "It's going to sound absurd, but I feel as if I'm closer to God. But that's not exactly it, it's…" Amenadiel interrupted, "Like your love for God is being reflected back at you through me." Sister Francine nodded, "Yes. That's exactly it. How did you know that? I didn't even know that until you just said it out loud." Amenadiel sighed, "I'm starting to understand something. Wait, this is what you came to talk about?" "What did you think I came for?" Sister Francine asked. "The murder of Sister Victoria," Amenadiel said. Sister Francine sighed, "I wish I could help." Amenadiel smiled, "Maybe you can. Did she ever mention a boyfriend? A fiancé? What about any visitors?" Sister Francine answered, "She usually liked to be alone. She did say that she discovered a secret room no one knew about, and she liked to go there to be by herself." Amenadiel smiled, "Thank you."

Chloe saw this and said, "So Sister Victoria knew about a secret room." Lucifer added, "Seems like the perfect place to meet a secret fiancé." Dan said, "Find the room, maybe we can find some evidence to ID him." Chloe nodded as Carlos stepped forward and whispered, "Can we talk now?"

Chloe pulled Carlos into a conference room and Carlos said, "Chloe. I wanted to apologize. I shouldn't have gone off on you like that. You're going through all of this and…" Chloe stopped him, "Carlos. I understand. You were getting frustrated at my unwillingness to forgive your dad. I get that. I just didn't realize that you understood what I was going through. So this has happened to you? Because of your lineage?" Carlos nodded, "Yeah. Being a VK can do that to you." "VK?" Chloe asked. "Villain kid," Carlos answered. "Meaning you were born on the Isle and had at least one parent who was a major villain in the eyes of Auradon. And like I said, being the son of Cruella De Vil put some labels on me that I didn't deserve. And people expected me to follow in her footsteps. They didn't care that I wanted a life of my own. My mother didn't even care." "I'm sorry, Carlos," Chloe said. "But I thought you came here to LA to find your dad and find out who you are thanks to those powers of yours." Carlos nodded, "Yeah, to understand why I am the way I am. Just like you are doing now. It's just I accepted it while you aren't with your problem. And just because Lucifer is my dad doesn't mean I am destined to be like him. I'm….me. I choose my own destiny. And I think it's the same with you. You are more than how you came to be. You're you. And that's what is important. My dad is my dad. And he is still the man you love, the love you feel all on your own. Trust me, I understand that. Just please don't leave my dad hanging out to dry over this for too much longer. Please." Chloe nodded as she left the conference room and Carlos sighed.

Chloe went over to her desk to look over the photos of Sister Victoria. She looked up and saw Lucifer standing there. Chloe sighed, "Lucifer, I know what you're thinking. That once the case its solved, I'll have magically figured everything out and it'll all be fine, right? Because Carlos is making me realize…" Lucifer interrupted, "Well, I'm definitely not thinking that now." Chloe sighed, "I want us to be together. I really do. I don't know how long it's going to take me to get over this. But I promised Carlos that…." Lucifer interrupted again, "I understand, Detective." Chloe was confused, "You do?" Lucifer sighed, "There are no shortcuts. Just take all the time you need. Even with whatever promise you made to Carlos." Chloe asked, "Are you sure?" Lucifer nodded. Chloe said, "OK. But I will still keep my promise to Carlos. For you."

Chloe and Amenadiel went back to the convent and looked for the secret room. Chloe found something along one of the walls on a bookcase, "It's gotta be here. It's gotta be here somewhere." She found a lever behind one of the books and the bookcase swung open, revealing a hidden hallway. Chloe pulled out her flashlight and she and Amenadiel went inside. "How'd you find this?" Amenadiel asked. Chloe answered, "Well, I realized that Destiny Page might have the blueprints since she was interested in buying the building." Amenadiel realized, "And since Victoria worked for her, that's how she knew about the secret place." "Yeah," Chloe agreed. "And one call to her reps, bingo. Secret cellar."

They entered the cellar and Chloe found a light switch and the lights came on. "OK," Amenadiel asked. "So what are we looking for here?" "Something out of place," Chloe answered. "Something new. Something a nun wouldn't have. Something with fingerprints." Chloe found a coffee mug sitting on a table.

Suddenly they heard a voice behind them, "I really wish you hadn't found that before me." Chloe and Amenadiel turned to see Hank standing there with a gun. "Hi, Hank," Chloe greeted. "I guess when I asked for the blueprints, you figured out what I was looking for. Did Destiny Page know that you were engaged to her assistant?" Hank shook his head, "Nah, she was too busy working on her religious image all day, getting hammered all night to notice." "Not much of a believer, huh?" Chloe asked. Hank chuckled, "Oh, it's such a scam. Victoria thought so too, until she came here." Chloe realized, "She broke up with you, and you killed her?" Hank sighed, "I just wanted to talk some sense into her, but we started to fight, and I wanted the ring back. I didn't mean to push her so hard. Why? Why would she choose this place over me? We had something real. Instead, she left me for made up nonsense!"

Amenadiel then stepped in front of Chloe and said, "I think we've heard enough, right?" "Plenty," Chloe whispered. Hank chuckled, "Now, that is very gentlemanly of you to die first." He shot two bullets at Amenadiel, but to no effect. So Hank fired three more shots at Amenadiel, but again, to no effect. "How the hell?" Hank asked. "What if it wasn't fake?" Amenadiel countered. "What if it was more real than even she could possibly know, and you, Hank, you took that away from her?" Hank shook his head, "No, no, no. It's impossible." Amenadiel then unfurled his wings, and Hank muttered, "Oh, God." Amenadiel glared at Hank, "Have faith, Hank." He flapped his wings to air push Hank into a nearby wall and knock him out. Amenadiel then hid his wings and looked back at Chloe, who nodded her head in thanks.

Chloe called some officers in and they took Hank away. Chloe chuckled, "I thought you weren't supposed to expose yourself." Amenadiel smirked, "Oh, I'm not. But for what he did, it felt appropriate." Chloe replied, "Yeah, well, when you find out that it all really does exist, it can be punishing. Trust me on that. Just like meeting a kid from a world full of fairy tales." Amenadiel chuckled, "Yeah. I wanted to talk to you about that. Chloe, I think I know why the nuns were drawn to me." "Why is that?" Chloe asked. Amenadiel explained, "Sister Francine said she felt God's love more than ever when she was with me. You know, when she was in my presence." "Yes," Chloe agreed. "You are an angel." Amenadiel replied, "I am, but I'm pretty sure that she was seeing her own faith reflected back at her." "Why do you say that?" Chloe asked. "Lucifer, actually," Amenadiel explained. "Men, women, they're all drawn to him because he pulls out people's desires. But what if the reason that they're drawn to him is because of that?" Chloe realized, "So you're saying Lucifer reflects people's desires back to them?" Amenadiel replied, "Well, who wouldn't want to be with their greatest desire?" "Well, yes," Chloe said. "I agree, but when I look at him, I don't see that. And neither does Carlos. Which would mean that…" Amenadiel smiled, "That you see him for who he truly is. Same with Carlos, because he's Lucifer's son." "So," Chloe said. "Everything we shared and everything I was afraid of was a manipulation…" "Is as real as it gets," Amenadiel interrupted. "You're not the gift, Chloe. That is." Chloe whispered to herself, "I'm me. Carlos was right. I choose my own destiny." She looked up at Amenadiel and said, "But I make him vulnerable." Amenadiel sighed, "That's something else I wanted to talk to you about."

Over at Linda's house, Maze had returned and she handed a piece of paper to Linda, who asked, "What's this?" "A database release form for biological parents," Maze answered. "So that their adopted kids can find them if they want to. It's like bounty hunting for your mother and father." Linda sighed, "Thank you, Maze. This is perfect." Maze then said, "You need to give your daughter the choice, OK? You have to." Linda realized, "You saw your mother, didn't you? What did you say to her?" "Nothing," Maze revealed. "I didn't get to say that I hate her. I didn't get to say that I forgive her. I didn't get to say anything. Because she's gone. She died, Linda." Linda pulled Maze into a hug and the two cried together.

At Lucifer's penthouse, Lucifer was quietly playing the piano with Carlos sitting nearby, "So, you are just going to wait. Even after she promised me that she would accept this soon?" Lucifer nodded, "I owe her that much." Lucifer turned to Carlos, "So your senior year starts when?" "Beginning of September," Carlos answered. "So about a month." Lucifer nodded, "How would you like to spend the rest of your summer vacation with me? Here? And you can still visit this place during the school year…" Carlos jumped up and ran over and hugged Lucifer, "I would love to, Dad." Lucifer smiled and returned the hug.

They heard the elevator doors open and the father and son pull apart to see Chloe standing there, "Hi, Lucifer. Hi, Carlos." "Detective," Lucifer said. Carlos saw the look in Chloe's eyes and realized why Chloe was here, "OK, I'll head back home and give you two some space. I'll be back tomorrow, Dad, with some of my stuff." Carlos then opened a portal back to Auradon and waved at Lucifer and Chloe, then walked through the portal and it closed behind him. Chloe asked, "What was that about?" Lucifer chuckled, "I asked Carlos if he wanted to stay here for the rest of his summer break and he agreed. He went back home to get some stuff and he'll be back tomorrow."

Chloe then asked, "You mind if I sit?" Lucifer nodded, "Please." Chloe sat down next to Lucifer at the piano, "Well, I had an interesting conversation with Amenadiel." Lucifer groaned, "Please tell me you're not making him police consultant. Anything but that." Chloe chuckled, "No, actually. He has, um, a theory about why I make you vulnerable." Lucifer was intrigued, "Oh. Do tell." Chloe explained, "Well, his theory is that I don't." Lucifer scoffed, "Well, I have many scars to prove otherwise." Chloe continued, "He thinks that you choose to be vulnerable around me." Lucifer was shocked, "I choose to….Well, I'll be damned. I think he might be right. Detective." Chloe looked into Lucifer's eyes, "Lucifer. If that's true, if you choose to be vulnerable around me, then I choose to be vulnerable around you." Then they both leaned in and kissed each other, gently yet passionately.

Back in Auradon, Carlos watched this from the mirror and chuckled, "Looks like she got over it." He was sitting in his bed and Dude was lying next to him, "Should you keep watching them like this?" Carlos chuckled and put the mirror away, "I just wanted to make sure I was right about why Chloe was there. I'll let them have their moment. Don't worry." Dude nodded, "So you're going to be staying in LA for a month until school starts? How do your friends feel about that? How does Jane?" Carlos sighed, "I'll talk to them in the morning as it's late. I think all of them, including Jane, will understand. Besides, I've been here most of this summer anyway. Also, do you want to come with me?" Dude eagerly wagged his tail, "Yes." Carlos chuckled and petted Dude's head, "Well, it looks like we're heading back to LA for a while."
