Lucifer was on the floor from the impact of being shot as he saw Chloe run over and sit next to him and cry. He thought this was the moment of his death, but then his breathing came back and he sat up. "Oh, my God," Chloe whispered. "You're OK." Lucifer pulled the bullet from where he was shot and found it smashed as he was now invulnerable, "I'm OK."
Carlos was sitting on his bed in the guest suite, his ring on the night stand, typing away on his laptop with Dude sitting next to him. Suddenly he heard a gunshot coming from the penthouse upstairs. Dude perked up, "What was that?" Carlos, panicking, pulled the mirror out and said, "Mirror, mirror, show me the penthouse!" The mirror showed him the penthouse and he saw that Dan was the one who shot Lucifer, but Lucifer was fine, surprisingly. "What the Hell?" Carlos muttered. He saw Dan in the mirror holding the smoking gun and Carlos started to become angry as his eyes glowed red as he watched what happened next.
Dan stood there in shock as Lucifer wasn't dead. Chloe stood up and shouted, "What the hell are you doing?" She took the gun off of Dan, who said, "What am I doing? What are you doing? He's the Devil, and you've known about it all this time." Lucifer stood up, "I've never hidden my devil-ness from anyone." Chloe glared at Dan, "How'd you find out?" "I saw him that night," Dan answered. "With Amenadiel, Charlie, and Carlos. I came back and I saw his freaking scary-ass face." Lucifer scoffed, "Well, I'm not particularly fond of your face either, Daniel, but you don't see me trying to kill you." Dan argued to Chloe, "How am I the bad guy here, huh? I'm trying to save you, I'm trying to save our daughter, I'm trying to save the world! From him! From his son!" Chloe sighed, "OK, Dan, I understand. I get it, and when I first learned about who he is, I didn't handle it well, either, but he's not what the world makes him out to be. He's a good person. So is his son. And despite your differences, I think you know that. You know that." They heard the gun go off again, and it was Lucifer shooting himself. Lucifer chuckled, "Huh. Yep, invulnerable." Dan shook his head, "This is crazy! It's crazy! You're all crazy!" He stormed over to the elevator as Chloe asked, "Where are you going?" Dan answered, "I'm not gonna shot somebody else, if that's what you're worried about, OK? I just need to get the hell away from him!"
The elevator doors closed and Dan sighed against the wall. But then the doors opened to reveal Carlos, with his white hair and his eyes glowing red. Dan pressed himself to the wall and muttered, "Oh, crap!" Carlos charged into the elevator and grabbed Dan by his neck and hoisted him up into the air. Carlos growled, "You shot my dad! Why? Why did you do that?" Dan obeyed and answered, "Because your father is the actual Devil and I have to protect everyone else from him. And you! You're the antichrist for crying out loud!" Carlos chuckled darkly, "Yeah, that's a load of BS. I am so much more than that, Dan." Dan whimpered, "Yeah. You even look different. You're disguising yourself like he is." Carlos chuckled, "Because kids don't have this kind of hair, thank you very much. I blame my mother's genes, frankly." Dan whispered, "Your mother?" Carlos growled, "Wouldn't you like to know? But it seems that you finding out the truth about my dad has broken you enough. For now, I am going to drag your ass out of here." The elevator reached the ground floor and Carlos dragged Dan by the collar all the way to the entrance and he threw him a good five feet into the air and Dan landed hard on the ground. Carlos glared at Dan, "I may be angry at you for what you did, but I will at least be nice and let you go. For now. Since my dad is apparently invulnerable again, there was no physical harm to him. But know this. I am not your enemy, and neither is my dad. But you will leave here and think about what you did. I will be watching." Carlos unfurled his wings, which made Dan reel back in shock and say, "You are not human. Just like your father." Carlos smirked, "Half-human, actually. But all De Vil." Carlos took to the skies and disappeared, leaving Dan there in shock as he stood up and ran to his car.
Up at the penthouse, Chloe muttered, "Shit. He's supposed to pick Trixie up from the sitter. I should get to her first and take her to my mom's until he cools down." Lucifer walked up behind her, "Well, I wouldn't hold your breath. I don't think cool is in Dan's repertoire." Chloe turned to Lucifer, "Are you sure you're OK?" Lucifer nodded, "I'm more than OK. I'm completely invulnerable, even around you." "All of a sudden?" Chloe asked. "Why now?" Lucifer sighed, "Well, who cares? Would you rather the bullet have killed me?" Chloe shook her head, "No, of course not. I'm just trying to make sense of all this. The mojo swap, and now this. But no, I….You're right. Gift horse." Chloe leaned in and kissed him, then pulled back and said, "I should go." They heard a whoosh of wings and Chloe said, "And I think someone else needs to make sure you're OK." Lucifer turned to see Carlos standing on the balcony. Chloe went to the elevator as Carlos ran in and hugged his dad, "Dad! I'm glad that you're OK." Lucifer hugged him back and said, "Don't worry. I'm fine. See? Completely invulnerable now." Carlos pulled away, "I know. When I heard the gunshot, I pulled out the mirror and saw everything. So I had a few choice words with Dan and escorted him out personally." Lucifer smirked, "Good. Now, we can sit and plan for revenge." "What?" Carlos asked.
The next morning, Chloe was sitting at her desk working on the Whisper Killer case, when Ella came up to her and told her that Pete gave her keys to his place and she said, "It's totally too fast. Or am I crazy?" Chloe sighed, "Um, well, I thought you said things were going really, really well." Ella sighed, "I did. Is there such a thing as "too well"? OK. Last night, right? We go out to dinner. Candles, wine. Pete takes my hand, he stares into my eyes, and he says, "I love meatloaf." And I mean, sure, meatloaf, absolutely delish, OK? But I don't think that's what he meant, Chloe. I think I am the meatloaf. Me." "Oh, Wow," Chloe replied. Ella smiled, "I know. Swoon, right? But we, like just met. I mean, how long did it take Lucifer to say "I love you"?" Chloe replied, "Well, every relationship is different, and, um, you know, you probably shouldn't compare yourself to others, but, um…" Chloe looked over and saw Lucifer holding a bag next to Dan's desk and Carlos was standing next to it trying to mime to Chloe to get over here, Dude at his feet starting at her. Chloe turned to Ella, "Ella, this is a good thing. Enjoy it. Embrace it. OK?" Ella nodded, "Embrace it."
Chloe ran over to Lucifer while Carlos muttered, "Finally." as Lucifer was pulling a snake out of the bag he had. "Lucifer, what are you doing?" Chloe asked. Lucifer sighed, "Well, I can't just let Dan get away with shooting me! An eye for an eye, or in this case, a snake for a bullet." Lucifer was trying to put the snake in Dan's cabinet as Chloe said, "That is not a good idea." Lucifer sighed, "No. You're right. I gotta think bigger. I mean, it's not even poisonous." Lucifer put the snake back into the bag as Chloe said, "No, that's not what I mean. Dan is fragile right now. Please don't do something else to set him off. Carlos, why aren't you stopping Lucifer?" Carlos said, "I tried, but he won't listen. And I tried to use my persuasion on him, but…." "Not helping," Lucifer interrupted. Carlos sighed, "See? He's figured out how to interrupt me before I can persuade him." He leaned in and whispered, "Plus, even if he tried anything, I'll stop him myself. So don't worry. He's just so dead set on punishing Dan. I'm not a fan of this at all." Carlos leaned back and Dude nodded in agreement. Lucifer continued, "What's he gonna do, bounce another bullet off me? Oh. Speaking of, I've been thinking. My newfound invulnerability around you changes everything, especially on the job. I mean, there may be no more mojo, but there's also no more dodging gunfire. In fact, from now on, think of me as your human shield. Or, Devil shield, rather. Come on, let's practice." Carlos sighed to himself as Chloe said, "Lucifer, no. Listen. I've been thinking about the Whisper Killer case. Something isn't adding up." "I agree," Carlos said. "Even Dude agrees with me." Chloe continued, "Serial killers often go for someone they know, and then branch out to strangers. Klumpsky had no connection to the first three victims, only the fourth. So it doesn't make sense." Lucifer thought for a moment, "Well, if only there was someone we could talk to. Right, Carlos?" Carlos nodded in agreement.
They all went to the cells were Les was, and the man was reading a newspaper, "The Whisper Killer? Lame. That doesn't even make sense. I don't kill whispers. I have a list of far superior names I'd like you to submit to the paper's editor. For example, The Silencer. The Husher. No, no. Maybe it should be, The Shusher." Carlos chuckled, "OK, like those are totally original." Chloe elbowed Carlos and said, "I will deliver the names once you've answered a few more questions. Carlos?" Carlos nodded and commanded, "You will answer all of her questions." Les felt himself nod, "Deal."
But Lucifer asked first, "Right. First question. What's the worst thing you've ever done to someone, without killing them?" Les chuckled, "I will only answer the detective's questions. Like the boy surprisingly commanded me to. He has an interesting trick." Lucifer huffed in annoyance as Chloe asked, "How did you target Olivia Sacks in San Antonio?" Les grinned, "Ah. Olivia. Well, I followed her home one night. San Antonio is a nice town for stalking." Carlos could tell something was off with his answer, "He's lying." Les was shocked as Carlos continued, "Maybe I should clarify. You are going to answer her questions, truthfully. No lying." Les gulped as he felt his body comply with Carlos' command. Chloe nodded, "Did you kill Olivia Sacks?" Les felt himself shake his head no. Chloe smirked, "What about Joy Goodman?" Another no. "Diane Luna?" Another no. "So did you only kill the school teacher?" Les nodded yes. Chloe smirked, "I knew it." Les then stood up and said, "I think it's time for my lawyer." Carlos was about to command him again, but Chloe stopped him and said, "It's fine. We got enough."
They went back to her desk as Chloe said, "So he lied to us. He only killed the school teacher and attempted to kill the woman in his apartment complex. He didn't kill his first three victims." "And I couldn't get my brainstorming questions in," Lucifer said. "Thanks a lot, Carlos." "Dad," Carlos warned. But Lucifer continued, "And so what if he didn't kill the first three? He clearly killed that schoolteacher, Madison, and he took a swing at Carlos. He belongs in prison, then Hell. Who cares about the details?" Chloe was starting to get upset, "I care about the details, Lucifer. But since you seem more concerned with getting the prefect revenge on Dan, why don't you just go do that? I'll get to the bottom of this on my own." Lucifer smirked, "Fantastic idea, Detective. Divide and conquer. Yeah. Come on, Carlos." Lucifer turned to walk away, but Carlos said, "Actually, Dad, you go on ahead. I want to talk to Chloe." Lucifer sighed, but nodded his head and left.
Carlos turned to Chloe and whispered, "I may have a lead on the case. From Dude. When he was smelling Les' apartment yesterday and Ella and Pete came in, Dude smelled Pete and he smelled something interesting on Pete." "What?" Chloe asked. Carlos answered, "Dude smelled the exact same lilies that were on the victims on him. Why would that be?" Chloe thought for a moment, then said, "I don't know. He was reporting on this case and he was around the crime scenes….." "But even I felt that something was off about him," Carlos argued. "You have to believe me." Chloe sighed, "Maybe. But we need facts and evidence. I am going home and figure this case out." Carlos nodded, "Then I am going to head back to Lux and start my own investigation on Pete. Why don't we met back here tomorrow morning and go over what we discover. OK?" Chloe nodded, then smiled, "It's nice that at least someone agrees with me on this case." Carlos smirked, "Happy to help."
Chloe went home and spent all night going over evidence and tracking down clues with her laptop. After hours of doing this, she came across a breakthrough. She decided to call Lucifer about it. She knew that she would tell Carlos the next morning. She put the phone to her ear, and started a voicemail, "Lucifer, I figured it out. There is definitely another serial killer, and he's still out there. Listen, I got a lead, tomorrow, in the Arts District, so after I met with Carlos…." Suddenly Chloe felt a hand over her mouth and she was dragged away.
Over in the penthouse, Lucifer was listening to loud opera music and devising a plan for revenge on Dan. He noticed that Carlos made the elevator not go to the guest level again as Carlos needed space to work out his investigation. Lucifer spent hours working on his plan. He finally said, "Yes. Oh, that is it! That is how I get back at you, Daniel!" He cackled evilly for a few moments, then said, "Oh, evil villain laugh. Interesting. Don't pull a Cruella. Now, this calls for a drink!" He saw on his phone that there was a voicemail from Chloe, "Didn't even hear it ring." He played it on speaker phone. He heard her voice, then he heard the attack on her as then the phone went static. Freaking out, he charged to the balcony and flew over to Chloe's apartment. He kicked the door open and shouted, "Detective!" He looks around and sees that her place is trashed, the evidence is found everywhere, and her computer is smashed. "Detective," Lucifer whispered.
Meanwhile, Carlos is typing away on his laptop, using his powers to hack into everything he could dig up on Pete. Dude sighed, "Why is this taking so long?" Carlos looked at Dude, "Even my powers won't speed this up. I am going as fast as I can. Wait. Maybe I can run a side program to track his credit card and match it to the credit card movements from those first three women who died. Maybe there's a connection there." Carlos typed away as fast as he could. His computer suddenly put up a link to a pre-vet school application and Carlos said, "Whoops. Wrong button." He clicked it away as Dude asked, "You still thinking about being a vet?" Carlos nodded, "Yeah. Senior year is approaching so I need to be thinking about colleges and I still have the desire to be a vet. But I can't think about that right now. Trying to get this guy." Dude then asked, "Why don't you ask the mirror if Pete is the Whisper Killer? Make the question present tense." Carlos sighed, "You have a point." Carlos pulled the mirror out and asked, and the mirror to show him the Whisper Killer, and the mirror showed him nothing. Carlos groaned, "Knew it. The Whisper Killer isn't Pete's actual name, the mirror can only show someone when I tell it their actual name. Nicknames and codenames don't count. Why is Evil Queen's mirror this picky?" Dude shrugged, "Take it up with the woman herself." Carlos sighed, "Besides, even if it did confirm our suspicions, I need evidence to link everything together." His computer pinged and Carlos looked at it and smirked, "And I think I just did."
Lucifer had called the police to Chloe's apartment and they arrived in the early hours of the morning. Ella was taking photos and said, "Signs of forced entry, obvious evidence of a struggle, valuables left behind. This doesn't look like a robbery." Lucifer sighed, "Go ahead, Miss Lopez. You can say it. The Detective's been kidnapped." Ella sighed, "I still haven't been able to get a hold of Dan. Have you told Carlos?" Lucifer shook his head, "Trust me, he'll be of no use to us right now. As for Carlos, he's ignoring me right now to focus on his own investigation with this case." "Is Trixie OK?" Ella asked. Lucifer nodded, "Yes, she's safe, at her grandmother's. The Detective was re-examing the Whisper Killer case. Carlos is helping her. In her voicemail, she mentioned finding proof of another serial killer out there. Since after our talk with Les yesterday proofed that he didn't kill the first three women." Ella asked, "Wait, do you think that this other killer found out that Chloe was onto him, and this is him covering up his tracks." Lucifer nodded, "I do. I just wish we knew what she'd figured out. And that I had Carlos' bloody mirror right now." "What?" Ella asked. "Nothing," Lucifer backpedaled. Ella sighed, "Well, her phone and her laptop were smashed. Uh, tech team is trying to recover what they can, but no guarantees." Lucifer scoffed, "None of this would have happened if I hadn't been distracting myself. I should have listened to the Detective." Ella hit Lucifer on the arm, "Yeah, you should have. You should have! You should have been there! Why weren't you there?" She continued to hit him, but Lucifer stopped her, "Miss Lopez, we can't lose our heads right now. The Detective needs us." Ella sighed, "You're right. She needs us. OK, we'll keep looking." Ella went over to the table and looked through Chloe's notes, "Hey, what about this? I mean, does this mean anything to you, the name Scotty Thomas?" Lucifer shook his head, "No, but that address is downtown. In her message the Detective mentioned following a lead at the Arts District." "Then that has to be it," Ella said. "Let's go," Lucifer said, but Ella stopped him, "You need to call Carlos. We need all the help we can get." Lucifer sighed, "I understand. I'll call him on the way to the Arts District."
Carlos was asleep next to his laptop. Dude scratched his arm and Carlos woke up, "I'm awake. Crap, it's morning already. I need to meet Chloe at LAPD." Carlos rushed out of bed and grabbed all of the evidence on Pete he gathered and grabbed his ring to put on the hair illusion spell and the mirror. He turned to Dude, "Stay here. I'll be back later." He ran out to the balcony and unfurled his wings, flying into the sky. Dude sighed, then he heard a phone go off, "Great. Carlos forgot his phone." Dude trotted over and pressed his paw on the green button, "Carlos' phone. Hello?" "Dude?" Lucifer said on the other side. "Why do you have Carlos' phone?" "Carlos left it here," Dude answered. "He was in a hurry to get to LAPD because he has to meet with Chloe to go over evidence he found…." "Chloe's been kidnapped!" Lucifer interrupted. "What?" Dude shouted. "Is there any way you can contact Carlos?" Lucifer asked. "No," Dude answered. "But he said he'll be back here soon." "Fine," Lucifer said. "I'll call back later."
Lucifer hung up as he and Ella arrived at the address. Ella asked, "Any luck?" Lucifer shook his head, "Not answering, I'm afraid." They entered the building and went straight for where they needed to be. Ella said, "Lucifer, I'm a little out of my depth here. I mean, I'm just a forensic scientist." "Relax, Miss Lopez," Lucifer replied. "We're just following a lead, not walking into a killer's lair. We're just following a lead, not walking into a killer's lair." Ella sighed, "Yeah, but still, I mean, don't you think we should loop in an actual detective?" Lucifer stopped walking, "We don't have time to brief someone new. Here it is." Ella tried to open the door, "Crap, it's locked." "Is it?" Lucifer asked as he pushed her out of the way and secretly broke the lock. "Weird," Ella commented. "Guess not."
They entered the place and found it looking creepy and weird as Ella commented, "What was that about not walking into a killer's lair? Do you think Chloe's here? Should we call for backup?" Lucifer answered, "I'm all the backup we need." "You're just an actor!" Ella argued.
They heard a toilet flush and they hid behind some shelves. They saw a man, Scotty, walk out. Lucifer walked out and grabbed him, dragging him to a chair and shouted, "Where is she? If you killed her, I swear to Dad, I…." Scotty interrupted, "Killed….who are you? Why would you think I would kill anyone?" Lucifer chuckled darkly, "Oh, really? I wonder!" Lucifer grabbed a large knife and held it at Scotty's throat. Scotty whimpered, "The knife? The Loy? No, no, no! This is just inspiration, I swear. No, we got it all from a Hollywood prop house that was going out of business. I use it to get my team in the right headspace." Lucifer leaned back in confusion, "What team? What headspace?" "My nerd squad," Scotty answered. "We're developing a virtual reality game where the user gets to be a serial killer." Lucifer chuckled, "Humans. Honestly." Ella was looking at all the props, "Yeah, they're all blunts. Clearly props." Lucifer sighed, "Well, then, why did the Detective think this place was a lead?" Scotty asked, "Detective? Wait. Detective Decker? You two work with her?" "Are you Scotty Thomas?" Lucifer asked. "Yeah," Scotty answered. "The Detective was supposed to meet me here but she never showed. I even printed the transcripts she asked for." Lucifer leaned back in, "Where are these transcripts? Show me."
Scotty got up and led Lucifer and Ella into another room that was full of computers and game designers. "Sweet," Ella commented. Scotty explained, "Detective Decker reached out to me on KillShare." "And KillerShare is?" Lucifer asked. Scotty explained, "It's a dark web chat site for those interested in, well, killing." Ella sighed, "Jeez, there's a site for everything." Scotty typed away on his computer, "We use it as research. The posts are anonymous and unmoderated. Anyone can post anything, and I mean anything. People have some pretty disturbing appetites." Lucifer replied, "Appetites you'll be encouraging with your serial killer game." Scotty said, "Whoa, hey, man. As long as they're scratching that itch in VR, they're not doing it in real life. OK? I'm one of the good guys. And the KillShare crowd isn't exactly into working with law enforcement, but I offered to help." "Well, how exactly?" Lucifer asked. Scotty sighed, "OK, well, Detective Decker was on KillShare, tracking a user that you guys apparently caught. Les Klumpsky, aka the Whisper Killer? I was one of the few that he was direct messaging." "And Chloe wanted to read your convos?" Ella asked. Scotty nodded, "Exactly. Now, the KillShare DM's, they self-destruct, but I screen cap everything." He handed the screenshots to Ella while Lucifer said, "It's going to take forever to go through all this."
Ella was leafing through them, "Wait, hold on. Klumpsky keeps referring to a LilyMan85." "LilyMan?" Lucifer asked. 'Worst superhero name ever." Ella went over to Scotty's computer and typed away, finally saying, "Found it. Holy….All of LilyMan's posts are first hand accounts of murders that match the Whisper Killer's, with details that haven't even gone public yet. Wait, Chloe said that our guy Klumpsky didn't do the first three murders that he admitted to, right?" "Yes," Lucifer said. "I did say that Klumpsky coughed that truth up." Ella realized, "I know what she figured out. Klumpsky is a copycat. This LilyMan is the original killer, the one that she said was still out there." "Well, how do we find this LilyMan?" Lucifer asked. Ella sighed, "Uh, well, I mean, I can get Cyber to track the different IP addresses of his posts, but it's going to take some time. And unfortunately we don't have Carlos available right now to help." "Bollocks!" Lucifer cursed. "Where's my son when we need him?" Scotty then said, "Well, maybe you can use the nerd squad. Some of the best around." Ella turned to Scotty, "Oh, my gosh, thank you!" She hugged Scotty while Lucifer said, "Right. Well, while you do that, I need to make some calls." He tried to call Carlos again, but it was still Dude, who said nothing had changed. Then Lucifer started to call Maze.
Maze was sitting at Linda's house trying to read a book while Amenadiel was tending to a crying Charlie. Maze closed the book, "Too many words. Do you have any books with pictures? I thought you were suppose to help me." Amenadiel had walked away from Charlie to pack a bag, "Sorry, Maze, I have to get Charlie to the hospital. Linda's leaving her conference early, so she's gonna meet us there." "Aren't you overreacting?" Maze asked. "I mean, a fever of 101 doesn't sound like a big deal to me. In Hell, we kept it at a brisk 120." Amenadiel sighed, "Right. Well, while 101 might not be the end of the world for a normal baby, Charlie's part angel, so, for him to be running a fever like this must mean there's something wrong with him." He heard Maze's phone go over, and Maze didn't answer it, so Amenadiel said, "You're supposed to pick that up when it makes that noise, right?" Maze replied, "I'm not talking to Lucifer. He kept my mother from me." "Does Lucifer even know why you're mad at him?" Amenadiel asked. "No. Well, maybe you might want to tell him. And perhaps you should check in on my nephew every so often too. Since I assume that since you're not talking to Lucifer, you're not talking to him." Amenadiel got Charlie and left while Maze's phone continued to ring. Maze finally gave up and picked up the phone, 'What part of me not picking up are you not picking up on?" She then got quiet and asked, "Chloe's what? And Carlos isn't picking up? Tell me what you need me to do."
Meanwhile, Carlos arrived at LAPD and walked through the main doors, holding the evidence he collected. He walked up to Chloe's desk, but was surprised that Chloe wasn't there. Looking around, he noticed that some of the officers were in a panic. Carlos stopped one of them and asked, "Excuse me? Do you know where Detective Decker is? I am supposed to meet up with her on the Whisper Killer case." The officer, named Dylan, answered, "You didn't hear? Detective Decker was kidnapped from her apartment last night." Carlos dropped all of the evidence in his hands as he shouted, "What? You are going to tell me everything you know about this. Now!"
Lucifer and Ella arrived at the address based on the IP they got from Scotty and his nerd squad. Ella was on the phone with LAPD as Lucifer pulled up to the house. They got out of the car as Ella said into her phone, "Yes, that's correct. Uh-huh. That's right. Yes, yes, we traced LilyMan's IPs to different addresses. Only one was from a private residence, probably the killer's. We're already here. Send for backup." Lucifer kicked the front door open as Ella said into the phone, "Uh, gotta go." She and Lucifer entered the house and smelled something foul in the air. Ella pointed to a lily petal on the floor and they followed the foul scent, it becoming worse as they went. They arrived at the office and saw a woman sitting in a chair with her back to them, dead. "Detective?" Lucifer whispered. He walked up and turned the chair around, to reveal a woman they didn't know, who looked like she was dead for quite some time. Ella sighed, "It's not Chloe. Thank God." Lucifer added, "Which means she's still out there in the hands of that bastard."
Over at LAPD, in the cells, Les was writing a letter to the newspaper editor to demand a change of name. He got spooked when he heard, "Can you really call yourself a serial killer?" He looked up and saw Maze walking out of the shadows as she said, "I heard you only did the one." "How did you get in here?" Les asked. Maze continued, "I met a lot of your heroes. Gacy, Dahmer, Stinky Ted. You all have something in common. You're a coward, just like them. But at least they came up with their own shtick." "Who are you?" Les asked. Maze pulled out her demon blades and said, "We're gonna get to know each other real well."
Over by Chloe's desk, officer Dylan was telling Carlos everything about the kidnapping of Chloe. Carlos sighed, "Perfect. This throws a wrench into things. And it seems my dad and Ella are trying to track this Whisper Killer down. OK, stay right there. I need to go check on something. Don't move." Dylan complied and Carlos raced to the conference room and pulled out his mirror and asked, "Mirror, mirror in my hand, where does Chloe Decker stand?" The mirror showed Chloe in a cave locked up, unconscious. But what got him angry was who was standing over her unconscious form, and it wasn't the Whisper Killer, but Michael. "Son of a bitch," Carlos muttered. "That uncle of mine is such a dick. He must have kidnapped Chloe to mess with Dad. He is not going to get away with this." He put the mirror back into his jacket and raced back out to officer Dylan, who hadn't moved due to Carlos' command. Carlos secretly used his telekinesis to pick up the dropped evidence and Carlos commanded, "When you see Ella, give this evidence to her. When you see my dad, tell him that his son is going off to rescue Chloe from that dick of a brother of his. Until then, go about your work day like normal." Carlos handed Dylan the evidence and Carlos ran out of LAPD. He hid in an alley and unfurled his wings and took to the skies, using the mirror as a GPS.
Back at the house where Lucifer and Ella found that dead woman, Lucifer had left to find Amenadiel while Ella was talking to some officers. As she was leaving, Pete walked up to her, "Hey." "What are you doing here?" Ella asked. Pete shrugged, "Guess my editor really liked my Whisper Killer coverage, 'cause apparently I'm her crime beat guy now." Ella replied, "Oh, well, that seems great. I mean, why do you seem so down about it?" Pete sighed, "I don't want you to think that I'm using our relationship for personal gain. Just say the word, and I'll leave." Ella shook her head, "Uh, no, I would never think that. No. Look, I gotta do my job, and you gotta do yours." "Are you sure?" Pete asked. "Because I know we've been moving a little fast. Who am I kidding? We've been moving a lot fast, and I don't want to do anything that would scare you away." Ella smiled, "Honestly, Pete, you have been nothing but absolutely amazing. I don't even know why I've been worried about moving too fast." Pete replied, "See? No, but I could tell. I could tell you were concerned." Ella shrugged, "Yeah, kind of, but, you know what? For once, I know a good thing when I see it, and…" She kissed Pete quick and said, "I have got to rush back to the precinct, but you do your thing. This is perfect for you. It's connected to the Whisper Killer case." Pete nodded, "Yeah, no, you got your hands full. Hey. This is probably dumb, but I did a ton of research on the Whisper Killer. It's all in a box at my place, if you would ever want it." Ella asked, "Are you trying to make me like you even more?" Pete shrugged, "Maybe." Ella sighed, "You're just…Look, I'll call you later. Bye," "Bye," Pete waved goodbye as Ella turned around and left.
Lucifer found Amenadiel at the hospital and asked him to slow down time. Amenadiel tried, but failed, "I can't. I'm sorry." "Try again, brother," Lucifer was desperate. "I've tried five times already, Lucy," Amenadiel said. "I'm telling you, I cannot slow down time anymore. I told you this back during the demon uprising. I haven't been able to since that time I saved Linda. Speaking of which, I should probably go find her. Charlie's test results should be in. And why can't Carlos help?" "Because he left his bloody phone behind," Lucifer replied. "And thanks for nothing." Amenadiel sighed, "Listen, I really wish I could help you find Chloe, but I have faith in you, brother." "Well, you shouldn't," Lucifer retorted. "I'm useless without her! I'm useless without my son! How am I going to find the detective without her or Carlos?" Amenadiel replied, "Maybe stop wasting time trying to get me to slow it and just, you know, do some good old fashioned detective work." Lucifer was aghast, "Detective work? Me?" Amenadiel asked, "Are you trying to tell me that after all these years of working with Chloe that you haven't learned anything?" They heard a knocking on the glass next to them and saw Linda, who said, "Amenadiel. Dr. Subia wants to see us." Amenadiel nodded to her, then said to Lucifer, "You can find her, Detective Morningstar. And I bet you that Carlos has figured out what is going on and is being a detective himself." Amenadiel walked off to join Linda, as Lucifer realized that he was right.
Lucifer went back to LAPD and started to get evidence together and act like a detective would. He set everything up in the conference room and had some of the evidence on a board. Ella walked and said, "Whoa. Who did this for you?" "No one," Lucifer answered. "I did this myself. I figured we needed to find similarities between our victims in order to build our killer's profile." Ella replied, "Be still me heart. OK, what do we got?" Lucifer said, "Well, uh, the victim we found this morning is Phyllis Cameron, A-list movie director, but based on the ME's report, she died a week ago, which means that LilyMan85 got to her before he killed Diane Luna, the opera singer." Ella nodded, "OK, so our guy clearly has a type: powerful women. And Madison, our elementary school teacher, is off pattern because of…" "Because she was killed by copycat Klumpsky. I mean, his sloppy trail of evidence allowed us to catch him before he could strike again, but the original Whisper Killer, he's cleverer, he's cleaner." Ella replied, "Lucifer, I have got to say, very impressive with the detective work." "Thank you," Lucifer said. "If only it were enough to find him, to find her. And we need more than this!"
Maze then barged into the room, "I talked to the copycat. Well, talk isn't exactly the right word." "Well, did he scream anything of value?" Lucifer asked. "Maybe," Maze answered. "He said that he was messaging with the original killer, and found out that this LilyMan likes to hunt his victims in restaurants. Copycat said, and I quote, "LilyMan looks for windbags."" "So he targets women who talk a lot?" Ella asked. "Gulp." Lucifer had an idea and said, "Hold on. I think I remember seeing the last charge three of the four victims made were at a restaurant." Ella asked, "Wait, you went through credit card statements and cross-referenced them?" Lucifer nodded, "Yes. Call the restaurants, find out if any of them have surveillance cameras." He handed Ella the credit card statements as she said, "I'm so on it."
Ella ran out of the room as Lucifer asked Maze, "Did Klumpsky ever meet his inspiration? Did he ever get a good look at him?" Maze shook her head, "No." "Are you sure?" Lucifer asked. Maze glared at Lucifer, "Five broken ribs, a torn rotator cuff, and "It's a Small World" on repeat? Yeah, I'm sure." Lucifer sighed and put his hands on the table. Maze saw her mother's ring on his right hand and stared at it for a minute.
Then Ella came running back in, "OK, so only one of the places has CCTV." She handed Lucifer a note with the restaurant's address on it and Lucifer said, "All right. Maze and I will check it out." Ella then said, "And I don't know if this is helpful, but Pete has some pretty extensive research on the Whisper Killer murders. I can see if he's got anything useful." "Yes," Lucifer replied. "Thank you, Miss Lopez. And if you see Carlos anywhere, call me."
Lucifer and Maze ran out of LAPD and Ella was about to do the same, but then officer Dylan came up to her and said, "Ella? Um, Carlos asked me to give you this evidence if I saw you. It's for the Whisper Killer case. He said it was really important that you see it." Ella sighed, "OK, I'll look over it quick." "Have you seen Lucifer?" Dylan asked. "He just left," Ella answered. Dylan sighed, "Great. Now I have to wait for him to get back." Dylan walked away as Ella walked into her lab and looked over the evidence and she became more and more sad and angry as she looked through it, "Please, this can't be true."
Lucifer and Maze went to the CCTV place and the guard said, "Sorry, I can't show you the tapes." Maze pulled out her demon knives, but Lucifer said, "We don't have time for torture." "Whoa, torture?" the guard asked. "Do you have a better idea?" Maze asked. Lucifer sighed, "Well, if I still had my mojo, I'd just ask, "What is it you desire?"" But the guard shockingly answered, "I want to be a dancer." Lucifer was shocked, "Wait, did my mojo just work?" The guard stuttered, "I've never told anyone that before." Lucifer chuckled, "I'm back. Maze, I'm back! Right, well, you're in luck, Baryshnikov, because I happen to own a nightclub. So, you help us, I'll hire you and make your Footloose dreams come true. What you you say? Deal?" Lucifer held out his hand and the guard took it, "Deal." Lucifer chuckled, "All right." The guard sat in his chair and asked, "OK, boss. What are we looking for?" Lucifer answered, "We are looking for her. She was here Thursday evening. Good man."
The guard typed away as Maze asked, "So, have you ever heard of a demon getting a soul?" Lucifer scoffed, "Of course not. That's impossible." Maze sighed, "Yeah, um, I've heard that all my life. Then again, you did fall in love. Amenadiel had a bay with a human, as did you. There's a first for everything, right?" Lucifer sighed, "Well, that's different. We're angels. You're just a demon." Maze went quiet as Lucifer saw the woman on the screen, "There she is! Yes, that's definitely her. Right, we just need to wait for the creepy guy stalking her." "How do we even know who we're looking for?" Maze asked. "OK. Never mind." They looked at the screen and saw a man in a hoodie with a bouquet of lilies. "Oh, my Dad," Lucifer muttered, which confused the guard.
Ella drove over to Pete's house trying to hold back tears as she was still processing Carlos' evidence on Pete. She parked in the driveway and used the key he gave her to get in, "Pete? Are you here? Guess not. Good. I don't think I can face him right now. OK, here I go. Just grab the files and maybe find anything suspicious." She found the files sitting on top of a cabinet and grabbed them. A piece of paper flew off and landed on an outlet on the wall, which was weird. Ella put the files down and pulled the paper off the outlet and pried it open, revealing a purple light. She stood up and leaned on the cabinet which moved to reveal a doorway. "OK," Ella thought to herself. "This definitely proves something." She entered the secret room to find a greenhouse for lilies. Ella also found some needles and syringes that matched the ones from the other victims. She quickly grabbed one of the the syringes, got out of the room, and pushed the cabinet back in place.
Suddenly she heard, "El." She turned to see Pete standing there. Ella took some deep breathes and said, "Hello, Pete." Pete was confused, "El. What's the matter?" Ella replied, "You are. How could you?" Pete saw the open outlet on the wall and sighed, "You figured it out. Clever girl." He charged up to her and started choke her, but Ella grabbed the syringe from her pocket and stabbed him in the back. Pete felt the drug affect him and he passed out next to her. Ella sat up and took some deep breathes and pulled out her phone to call LAPD.
The police came over and arrested Pete. He was taken back to LAPD and was put in the interrogation room, where he sat in silence. Lucifer and Maze were standing behind the two way mirror and Lucifer commented, "He hasn't said a word since his arrest." "I'll get him talking," Maze said as she tried to pass Lucifer, but Lucifer stopped her, "No. We've only got one shot at this. We can't risk him lawyering up or dying. We have to approach this cautiously.
Suddenly Ella barged into the interrogation room with files in her hands and demanded, "Where is she, Pete? Where's Chloe?" Maze saw this, "No. Lucifer, she is in no shape to face him." Lucifer argued, "Miss Lopez is stronger than you think. Stronger than she thinks." Ella asked Pete again, "Where is Chloe? We know you're LilyMan85, Pete. The original Whisper Killer. We have all the evidence we need from your creepy little plant room. And this evidence that Carlos dug up on you." Lucifer was confused, "What?"
Ella sighed, "God, just when I thought I'd found a good guy." "I am a good guy," Pete argued. "Yeah," Ella replied. "Except for the whole, you know, killing people part." Pete nodded, "Exactly. Everyone has flaws." "Everyone has flaws?" Ella asked. "Pete, it's not like you left the toilet seat up. You kill people. Innocent women. Because why? What, were you abused as a child? Did your dad hit you one too many times? What?" Pete shook his head, "No. It was my mother, and she didn't hit me, she screamed at me all day, every day." "Is that why you cut out all those women's vocal cords?" Ella asked. "Was that too obvious?" Pete countered. "Should I have cut their hearts out instead?" Ella was floored, "All of this because your mommy was mean to you?" Pete shook his head, "No, she wasn't just mean to me. She didn't love me. All she loved was her stupid lily garden." Ella replied, "A lot of people have crappy childhoods, Pete. We don't become serial killers. So what, that whole time you were just using me to stay ahead of the investigation?" Pete answered, "Yeah, it started that way, and then it evolved." "Oh, my God," Ella replied. "You were going to kill me, weren't you? I mean, I fit your profile, I'm definitely a talker." "Yeah," Pete argued. "But everything you say is so nice. I thought with you I was finally going to feel something, anything, but nope. And I did everything right, everything that you're supposed to do. Candlelit dinners, I took you to that convention, I gave you a key to my apartment." Ella chuckled, "Yeah. You fooled me. Congrats." "Thank you," Pete replied. "But it didn't work. I couldn't even fool that kid who dug up this evidence of me. And that stupid mutt of his. The only time I ever feel anything is when I'm hearing them choke on their own blood unable to talk. I don't know. Maybe if we got more time together." "Time?" Ella asked. "Time wouldn't change the fact that you are a cold blooded murderer." "Good point," Pete replied. "But you gotta admit, we have a lot in common." "We're nothing alike," Ella argued. Pete shrugged, "Oh, I wouldn't be so sure. There is darkness in you, Ella. I recognized it the very first moment that we met." Ella then slammed the table, "Damn it, Pete! Just, where is Chloe?" "I don't know," Pete answered. "I didn't do anything to her. I swear." Ella realized, "You really have no idea where she is, do you?" "No," Pete answered. Ella stood up, taking the evidence with her, but Pete said, "Uh, Ells, just to be clear, this is you breaking up with me, right?" Ella turned to Pete, "Pete, you're going to burn in Hell."
Ella stood outside the door and took some deep breaths to calm herself. Lucifer and Maze then walked over and Lucifer said, "That human stain is telling the truth. He had no idea where she is. I wasted all this time looking for the wrong bloody person! This is all my fault! I don't understand. Where is she? Who else would want to hurt the Detective?" Maze tried to calm Lucifer down as Ella said, "I don't know." Lucifer took some deep breaths and said, "Regardless, you did well, Miss Lopez. But you need to tell me something. You said this evidence against that human stain was from Carlos. Did he give it to you?" Ella shook her head, "No, Dylan did. He also said that he was looking for you."
Lucifer then charged through LAPD with Maze following behind and found Dylan in the break room. Dylan looked up, "Oh, thank God, you're here. Now I can finally deliver this message and be done with this." Lucifer charged forward and asked, "What message? Do you know where my son is?" Dylan nodded, "Yea, it was your son who told me to give that evidence to Ella and tell you this, he is going to rescue Chloe from that dick brother of yours." Lucifer's face paled as Dylan then walked away. Maze realized, "This isn't about Chloe. This is about hurting you." Lucifer also realized, "Yes. And I think I know who Carlos is talking about. There's only one brother that Carlos referred to as a dick. Michael."
Meanwhile, Carlos was flying high in the sky looking at his mirror, "It's close. Hold on, Chloe." He saw his destination down below and activated the invisibility spell with his ring as he flew down and landed next to a cave in an abandoned zoo. Carlos pressed against the outside wall and whispered, "Mirror, mirror, show my Chloe." The mirror showed Chloe in her cell in the cave trying to break the bars. Carlos saw Michael approaching her and the angel said, "Hello, Detective." Carlos' eyes flashed red as he tried to stay quiet so that Michael wouldn't hear him.
Inside the cave, Michael held up a coffee cup, "One tall non-fat almond milk latte with auger-free caramel drizzle. It's your favorite, come on." Chloe walked up to him and knocked it out of his hands. Michael scoffed, "Hey! That was, like, seven bucks. God." "What am I doing here, Michael? " Chloe asked. Michael sighed, "Don't worry. This is just temporary. It's all part of a bigger plan." "Plan?" Chloe asked. "What, to make me dislike you even more?" "No," Michael answered. "But, spoiler alert! It is gonna be epic. Just you wait. Till then, I, uh, I figured we should catch up. I mean, a lot has happened since we saw each other last." "And why would I talk to you?" Chloe asked. "Because you want to know what they mean," Michael revealed. "The changes that my brother's been going through. Although, deep down, I think you probably already know, don't you?" Chloe scoffed, "Oh, so it's this again? Trying to make me afraid about my relationship with Lucifer?" Michael chuckled, "Now, you see, that's just it, Detective. Just like Lucifer can't create desires, I can't create fears. I just expose what's already there, and, girl, you reek of fear." "You don't know what you're talking about," Chloe said. Michael asked, "So, what, you're not afraid of what his newfound invulnerability means? 'Cause you do know that we angels, we self-actualize, right? Which means him choosing to be vulnerable around you actually meant something, so I'm just, you know, putting it out there, but I wonder this new development could mean." "You're wrong," Chloe argued. "Lucifer and I are closer than ever." Michael shrugged, "Huh. Yeah, you're probably right. I mean, we all know Lucifer doesn't lie. So, when he tells you he loves you, you know he really means it, right? Unless…Oh, no. No, no, no. He hasn't said it yet, has he? Even though you said it to him? That is…Looks like you'll maybe need some time to yourself, so…I have a quick errand to run, but don't worry, Detective. I will be back before you know it. Enjoy the cave."
Michael turned to walk away, but Chloe said, "You're still wrong. I know he is capable of love. I've seen it with me. And I've seen it with Carlos." Michael groaned, "Carlos, Carlos. That kid is a sly little thing, isn't he? He always seems to be many steps ahead, doesn't he? But not this time. Last I checked, he seemed pretty occupied with helping you solve the case you're working on." Chloe shook her head, "He's smarter than all of us put together. If Lucifer can't find me, he will." Michael glared at her, "I doubt that. He seems preoccupied with spending quality time with Lucifer. I mean, Lucifer even went to whatever world Carlos is from. Believe me, I felt my brother's absence. So you just keep your little hopes up while I leave you alone with your thoughts." Michael chuckled and left the cave. Chloe sighed in annoyance.
Carlos saw that Michael left and waited a couple minutes before he lifted the invisibility on himself and ran into the cave. Chloe heard footsteps and looked up to see Carlos standing there. "Carlos!" Chloe shouted as she ran to the cell door. "Chloe," Carlos said. "Are you OK?" Chloe nodded, "I am now. Just get me out of here before Michael comes back." Carlos nodded, "OK, then stand back." Chloe took some steps back as Carlos kicked down the cell door. Chloe ran out and hugged Carlos, who returned the hug. Chloe pulled away, "We need to get out of here before Michael comes back." Carlos agreed, "Yeah, who knows when he'll be back. We are going to have to fly to get back. Do you mind if I carry you?" Chloe nodded and Carlos picked up Chloe and carried her bridal style. Carlos then said, "I know we need to go straight to LAPD, but we need to make a quick pit stop at Lux so that I can grab my phone and Dude. Is that OK with you?" Chloe nodded, "Yeah, I just want to leave this place." Carlos nodded, "Then hold on." He unfurled his wings and shot up to the sky and flew to Lux.
They arrived and Carlos landed on the balcony to the guest level. Dude saw this and ran out with Carlos' phone in his mouth. He dropped the phone at Carlos' feet, "Carlos! And Chloe! You're OK." Chloe petted Dude on the head, "I'm OK. Carlos found me and rescued me." Dude turned to Carlos, "Your dad has been trying to get a hold of you for a while. You forgot your phone." "Sorry," Carlos said. "I was in such a rush to meet up with Chloe that I forgot. Thanks for holding down the fort while I was gone. We are heading to LAPD. Want to come?" Dude barked happily and Carlos picked up his phone and picked Chloe back up. Dude hopped onto Chloe's lap and Chloe held onto Dude tightly as Carlos took to the skies again towards LAPD.
Meanwhile, Lucifer was pacing in the interrogation room when Maze barged in with Dan, "Found him at a bar, wasted." Maze pushed Dan inside and closed the door, locking it. "Daniel," Lucifer tried to ease Dan, but Dan freaked out, "No! No, no, no!" Dan ran away from Lucifer, who replied, "Daniel! Relax!" Dan looked scared, "Stay away from me, don't hurt me." Lucifer scoffed, "Oh! Says the man who shot me. Listen, Daniel, I know we've had our differences, but right now, what's happening is far more important than us. Tell me, the night that you saw my face, why did you come back to the house?" Dan was confused, "Because you called me. You asked me to." Lucifer sighed, "I didn't make that call, Daniel, but I think I know who did." "Who?" Dan asked. "My twin," Lucifer answered. "Michael. Oh. Dreadful poker face. He's the one who told you to shoot me, isn't he? Look, I hate to break it to you, Daniel, but you have been played." Dan replied, "But Michael's an angel, and you're the Devil, you're the Prince of Lies. Not to mention you fathered the antichrist."
Lucifer slammed his hands on the table, "Dan! Chloe has been kidnapped by Michael. We need to find her before he does whatever angelic things he's planning on doing! And my son is not the antichrist. He's the one who has gone off on his own to find Chloe. I need to find both of them before Michael does something to them." Dan was confused, "Wait, what do you mean, kidnapped? Is that why everyone's on high alert? Why didn't you tell me? And why is your son the only one out looking for her? Somebody let me out of here so I can help. Open the door!" Lucifer charged into Dan and pressed him against the door, "What are you going to do? Tell them that some archangel took her? That my half-angel son is out looking for her? We are on the same side here. Only we can save her, and possibly Carlos, and the only way you can help is by telling me where you saw Michael." Lucifer was pressing hard into Dan's wrists and Dan muttered, "You're hurting me." Lucifer let go of Dan and back away. Dan took some deep breaths, "OK, Michael. He came to me at the cemetery. But then he flew me someplace else. Uh, someplace private so we could talk. It was, uh, some weird cave." "Private?" Lucifer asked. "Well, that might be where he has Chloe. Where's this cave?" Dan sighed, "Well, I don't know exactly." Lucifer scoffed, "How could you not know? Did he blindfold you?" Dan stuttered, "Well,…I….kind of…maybe passed out on the flight there. And back." Lucifer groaned, "You have got to be kidding me!" Dan argued, "Come on, I'm afraid of heights. You know what roller coasters do to me. And believe me, flying is way worse." Lucifer shouted, "Is there anything of value that you can tell me, or are you just completely useless?" Dan sighed, "Look, the cave, it was strange, all right? It was, parts of it, it looked fake. There were bars on it, and it seemed like nobody had been there in a really, really long time."
Maze barged in and said, "Lucifer, you need to come out here. Now." Lucifer sighed and he walked out of the interrogation room, Dan following. What they saw shocked them, Chloe was walking through the doors of LAPD with Carlos at her side, Dude at his feet. Chloe stopped when she saw Lucifer. Tearing up, she ran over and kissed Lucifer, who kissed her back. "You're OK," Lucifer muttered. Chloe pulled back and nodded, "Yeah. Carlos found me." Lucifer turned to Carlos and said, "What you did was dangerous." Carlos sighed, "I know. And I'm sorry that I forgot my phone and I saw all the calls…." Carlos was stopped by Lucifer hugging him and the Devil said, "But you also did good. Thank you, Carlos. I don't know how I can repay you." Carlos hugged Lucifer back tightly. Lucifer pulled away and asked, "So where was Michael keeping you, Chloe?" "In a cell in a cave," Chloe answered. Carlos pulled out his phone and pulled up the maps app, "It was at this abandoned zoo. I found it and tracked Chloe there. I waited until Michael left before I got Chloe out. He's going to be in for a surprise when he gets back." Lucifer looked down at Dude and said, "And you made a pitstop to get Dude?" Carlos replied, "Hey! I also wanted to get my phone. And yes, Dude. It was just a quick stop. We came right here." Lucifer chuckled and pulled Carlos and Chloe into a hug.
Ella saw this from her lab and ran out and hugged Chloe, "Chloe! You're here!" Chloe hugged Ella back, "Yes. I'm OK. Carlos found me and got me out." Ella pulled back and looked at Carlos, "Thank you Carlos. And thank you for the evidence you got on Pete. It was hard to see, but it was needed." Carlos pulled Ella into a hug, "You're welcome. And if you ever need to talk to someone about this, I can help." "Wait," Chloe said. "You caught the killer?"
Dan and Maze were looking at the group and Dan said, "Lucifer really does care for her, doesn't he? And Carlos is a good kid." Maze scoffed, "Yeah. Freaking soulmates. But you're right about Carlos. He's a good kid." Dan then asked, "So about Carlos…." He turned and saw that Maze disappeared as Maze saw where Michael had taken Chloe and went there to face him.
Over at the hospital, Amenadiel and Linda were waiting for the results on Charlie as Dr. Subia said, "Good news. Charlie's fever has subsided. Just your normal, run of the mill cold. Ready to see him?" Linda and Amenadiel both sighed in relief and nodded. Dr. Subia walked back into the patient care ward and Linda followed.
Amenadiel turned to pick up his things until he heard, "Hello, brother." Amenadiel looked up to see Michael standing there, "Michael? What are you doing here?" Michael answered, "I heard that Charlie was sick, so I came to show my support." Amenadiel said, "Yeah. Support?" Michael sighed, "Despite our differences, we're still family, and that includes Charlie. And I heard the doctor say it was just a normal cold. I'm so sorry." Amenadiel was confused, "What do you mean sorry, Michael? That's good news." Michael replied, "But, brother, you understand what that means, right?" "No, what?" Amenadiel asked. Michael sighed.
Later on, Michael returned to the cave and shouted, "Honey, I'm home!" But instead of Chloe, he found Maze standing there with her demon blades, "Surprised to see me?" Michael was shocked, but then chuckled, "No, actually, Mazikeen, you are exactly the demon I wanted to see. In fact, you're a little earlier than I expected. I didn't expect my brother to find Chloe this quickly." Maze shook her head, "It wasn't Lucifer. It was his son." Michael was shocked, "That little twerp. I guess he wasn't as distracted by solving the case as I thought. And how did he track Chloe here?" Maze chuckled, "Trade secret. And I am so tired of your BS games, Michael. Tired of you messing with me and my friends. Kidnapping Chloe, that was a step too far. Now I'm going to have a little fun carving you up." Maze held one of her knives to Michael's face, who sighed, "Come on. That's a little extreme, don't you think? I mean, I was never going to hurt Chloe. You don't believe me? Mazikeen, I am the only one who has been honest with you. Who told you about the ring?" Maze replied, "All that did was how me how much my life sucks." Michael smirked, "Which is exactly why I wanted to talk to you. Listen, I can help you, because when I get what I want, so can you. And we are so close, Mazikeen, so, so close to my plan finally coming together."
Back at LAPD, Chloe was standing in front of the officers of LAPD and giving a speech, "I just wanted to say how grateful I am for all of your hard work and for never giving up on trying to find me, and, um, you know, words cannot express this enough, but thank you. Thank you, guys." Everyone clapped and some officers hugged Chloe. Lucifer and Carlos, with Dude at their feet, were watching Chloe off to the side.
They heard the elevator doors open net to them and Amenadiel came out with Linda and Charlie and said, "Brother! We need to talk. Something terrible had happened with Charlie." Carlos looked down and noticed that Charlie looked under the weather. "What, did he get worse?" Lucifer asked. Amenadiel shook his head, "No! No, he got better, but it's just a normal cold." Lucifer was confused, "Right, well, I don't see the problem." Linda sighed, "That's what I've been saying." Amenadiel said, "No, listen, we really have to…." But Lucifer interrupted, "No, I'm sorry, brother, but I'm a little busy at the moment. The detective and I haven't yet had a chance to talk since Carlos went and rescued her. And I am keeping an eye on Carlos since he came back. Can this wait?" Carlos waved, "Hey, Uncle Amenadiel, Aunt Linda." Amenadiel wanted to argue, but Linda said, "Yes, it can. Come on." Linda pushed Charlie's stroller away and dragged Amenadiel with her.
Chloe walked over and they awkwardly said "Hi." to each other. "Awkward," Dude muttered, but Carlos shushed him. Lucifer looked at Chloe, "Can we talk? Somewhere private?" Carlos got the hint, "OK. I'll just take Dude outside for some fresh air. Come on, Dude." Carlos walked toward the entrance with Dude. Chloe looked up at Lucifer, "Yeah. Of course."
Lucifer led her to the evidence room and Chloe asked, "How's Ella doing? I really didn't talk to her for long before she left." Lucifer sighed, "She's, uh, as well as could be expected. You saw that she's happy that you're safe, but finding out the man she was dating is a serial killer hit her hard. Especially since all the evidence Carlos found on him was a lot. Still, Carlos was able to offer support." Chloe sighed, "Poor Ella. I feel terrible for her. I'll check in with her later." Lucifer then said, "Detective, I am so incredibly sorry." "For what?" Chloe asked. "For taking so long to find you," Lucifer answered. "Even though Carlos was the one to rescue you. Also for getting you caught up in my family mess, for everything you had to endure with my psycho twin brother." Chloe reassured, "Lucifer, everybody had a weird family. I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't fun being kidnapped, but I knew you were out there the whole time, looking for me. And the fact that your son has a mirror that can find anybody. What I'm worried about now is Michael, he said that this was all part of some bigger plan and….Should we go find him?" Lucifer sighed, "Well, I'll deal with him later. Right now I'm just happy to have you back. And trying to calm my nerves about you being kidnapped and Carlos going after you by himself with my brother on the loose." Chloe chuckled, "But from what I head, you really didn't need me. You caught a serial killer on your own?" Lucifer shrugged, "Uh, well, Maze and Miss Lopez helped a bit, and Carlos gave Ella all the evidence she needed to get Pete, but, yes, I suppose it was mostly me. And you, in a way. I channeled you, Detective. Did some actual case work. I really was my best you. Oh! And the best me. By the way, my mojo's back. Isn't that great?"
Chloe was stunned, "Yeah, that's great." Lucifer could see through her, "What's wrong?" Chloe shook her head, "Nothing. But do you think I can still mojo you?" Lucifer smirked, "Well, there's no need. I promise to tell you everything I desire, no mojo required." Chloe replied, "That's assuming you know what you want." Lucifer was confused, "Excuse me?" Chloe sighed, "I'm just wondering if subconsciously you might be pushing me away, 'cause you say that you want this and you say that you want us, but do you?" "Where is this coming from?" Lucifer asked. Chloe replied, "Well, if, mojo-wise, you're no longer letting me in, if now, you're invulnerable all the time, doesn't that mean that you're no longer choosing to be vulnerable with me?" Lucifer said, "I know what's happened here. Michael got inside your head, didn't he? What did he say to you?" Chloe sighed, "You know he taps into people's fears. And, yeah, I, yes, I guess part of me is afraid." "Of what?" Lucifer asked. Chloe answered, "Afraid that you don't feel the same way that I feel about you. And the last thing I want to do is push you into saying something you don't want to, but I know you can't lie. So just tell me, is that why you haven't said it back?" Lucifer was confused, "Haven't said what back?" But then Lucifer figured out what she meant, "Oh…I…But Detective, I…It's complicated. I mean, I haven't said those words to my own son." Chloe nodded, "All right." But Lucifer then said, "No, I mean….Detective, I do, of course I do. Detective, I lo…." But he looked at Chloe and saw that she wasn't moving. He waved her hand in front of her, but she didn't react. He walked out of the evidence room and saw that all of time was frozen. Lucifer realized, "Amenadiel!"
Carlos was outside the LAPD building with Dude as Dude said, "So, what do you think they're talking about?" Carlos sighed, "If I were to guess, their feelings. As two people in love tend to do." Dude nodded, "Yeah." Dude thought for a moment, then decided to finish a conversation from last night, "So, senior year is coming up soon. You excited?" Carlos shrugged, "Yes and no. Yeah I am excited for my last year of high school, but then I will graduate and I have to figure out what I want to do in the future." Dude tilted his head, "I thought you wanted to be a vet." Carlos chuckled, "Yes, I still want that, but I mean my future. With Jane. With my dad. I want to propose to Jane one day. And I need to decide about where I want to live on a more permanent basis. I can't bunk in Evie's cottage forever. I need to figure out where to go from here…." Carlos looked down and saw that Dude was frozen. Carlos looked around and saw that everything around him was frozen in time. He felt his ring pulsing around his neck and he felt the hair illusion spell fade and his white hair returned. Carlos was confused, then realized, "Wait. I remember hearing that Uncle Amenadiel used to have control over time. Is this his doing?" He picked up the frozen Dude and ran back inside LAPD, first going to a side room and hiding Dude in it.
Amenadiel was pacing in front of a frozen Linda and Charlie when Lucifer shouted, "Brother! Could you have chosen a worse moment to slow down time?" Amenadiel argued, "It hasn't slowed, it's stopped!" Lucifer countered, "Well, would you kindly unstop it, then, please?" Amenadiel pointed to Charlie, "Lucy, look. Just look. He's frozen. Charlie. Charlie's frozen."
"Yes," Lucifer agreed. "As is everything and everyone else, including the Detective." "Exactly," Amenadiel said. "Everyone but us celestials. Do you understand what that means? It means Michael was right. Charlie is mortal." "And?" Lucifer asked. Amenadiel replied. "And all of this time I thought, I assumed he was like me, like us. But he's not. He's just like every other ordinary human child. He'll get sick again, he'll feel pain, grow old, suffer!" Lucifer sighed, "Oh. Right, now I understand. You stopped time to prevent all that from happening. Well, would you deal with your parental anxieties later? Right now I need you to hit the play button because I have a relationship to fix!" "I don't know how!" Amenadiel argued. "I didn't do anything to make this happen! And why aren't you worrying about Carlos? He could be out there frozen too proving that he's mortal just like Charlie!" "Not consciously," Lucifer replied. "Obviously, but this is clearly triggered by your fears, and yes I may be afraid of my son's well being, but not enough to make time stop. So just stop being afraid!"
"Easier said than done." They turned to see Michael standing there looking smug, "Amenadiel, I am impressed. I was hoping that you would spiral out of control, but completely stopping time? Way to be an overachiever!" Lucifer said, "Well, if it isn't Mr. Bigger Plans himself. Of course you're behind this, too." Michael asked, "How are you and the little lovebird doing? Hmm? Have you realized it will never work yet? I mean, you weren't even the one to save her, that was all your little offspring's doing." Lucifer growled, "Look, I get going after me, but why bring Amenadiel into this? What's your endgame here?" Michael smirked, "Oh, you'll just have to wait and see. And I didn't do anything to Amenadiel. I mean, I can't help it if he's afraid of his son's stuffy nose." Lucifer realized, "Amenadiel, Michael is probably responsible for Charlie's illness." Michael scoffed, "Come on, I would never." "He's lying," Lucifer said. Amenadiel stalked to Michael, who said, "Amenadiel, what makes more sense, that I somehow gave your child a cold, or that Chucky here got sick because he's a frail, little mortal who's destined to suffer and die a horrible human death?" Lucifer countered, "Amenadiel, Charlie's not going to die." "Now who's lying," Michael said. "I meant anytime soon," Lucifer argued. "But they grow up so fast," Michael said. "Don't listen to him, brother," Lucifer begged. "Don't let him get inside your head." Michael smirked, "I'm just saying what he's already thinking."
"Enough!" Lucifer and Michael stopped their argument and they, along with Amenadiel turned to see Carlos standing there, glaring at them. Michael chuckled, "So, you are more celestial than I thought. You're more celestial than your little cousin over here. One who can get sick so easily. One who is a weak little mortal…." "Watch it!" Carlos growled, his eyes glowing red. "That is my cousin you're dissing." Michael chuckled, "Well, brother, it seems that Lucifer has a superior child to yours. It seems Carlos will live a longer life than little Chucky here." Amenadiel grabbed Michael and shouted, "Why? Why are you doing this?" Michael sighed, "Oh, again with the blame game. It's not my fault you impregnanted one of these filthy little humans." Amenadiel punched Michael in the face, but Michael just laughed, "I mean, look at her. So helpless. Just like your son."
"Leave him alone!" Carlos commanded, walking up to Michael and putting himself between his evil uncle and his aunt and cousin. Michael chuckled, "Your spawn is fighting your fights, Lucifer. He seems to have more courage than anyone else here. Oh, but I do smell that fear in him." "Leave him alone," Lucifer warned, but Michael continued, "Come on. You are just as bad as Amenadiel, you impregnanted a human as well. But it seems that particular human was special. Isn't that right, Carlos? Or should I say, Carlos De Vil?" Carlos' eyes widened in shock as he tried to retort, but Michael chuckled, "Yes. I told you that I would find out more about you, like how your mommy is Cruella De Vil, that dog killer that exists in a different realm. I mean, your hair should have been a dead giveaway. And I am surprised that her son would have his own little doggy, Dude is it? I've seen him hanging around you while you're here. Oh, and then there's the little girlfriend that saved you from Hell's gate. Jane was it?" Carlos growled, "You will not harm them. Ever." Michael chuckled, "Well, based on your command, for now, they're safe, but how long do your commands last? Maybe one day soon, I can find a way to go and visit the little girlfriend…."
"You leave my son and his loved ones out of this!" Lucifer interrupted as Amenadiel tried swing another punch at Michael, but his fist was caught by Maze, who appeared suddenly. Lucifer was shocked, "Maze. Why are you defending him?" "Because he promised me a soul!" Maze shouted. Lucifer laughed, "That's impossible." "Dad," Carlos warned. "Maybe don't provoke the demon." "Why?" Maze asked Lucifer. "Because I'm just a demon?" "Exactly," Lucifer answered which made Carlos sigh in frustration. Maze kicked Lucifer through a glass wall and he landed on the ground. Maze pulled out her knives and said, "Get up. We're not done." Lucifer stood up, "Why would you ever trust Michael? He's a liar!" Maze swung her knives at him, "He's only ever been honest with me. You hid my mother from me." Lucifer was shocked, "How did you…" But Maze attacked him again and Lucifer had to dodge. He got a hold of her hands, "I'm sorry, Maze, but I gave Lilith my word." Maze scoffed, "Which is apparently more important to you than I am!"
Michael chuckled from where he was standing, but then Carlos punched Michael hard and the evil angel flew a few feet towards the stairwell. Carlos smirked, "I've been wanting to do that for a while." Amenadiel then said, "Go help your father. I can handle Michael on my own." Carlos nodded, "Fine by me." Carlos ran after Lucifer and Maze and Amenadiel charged Michael as the angel was getting up and Michael blocked an attack as Amenadiel said, "I can't believe you'd use my infant son as a pawn!" Michael started to fight back, "I can't believe how easy it was triggering you! I mean, way easier than turning Lucifer's friends against him." Amenadiel and Michael continued to fight each other, both evenly matched.
Lucifer and Maze were going at it still, and Maze threw her knives at Lucifer, who caught them. Maze charged in at Lucifer, but Carlos stepped in front of Lucifer and punched Maze right to the ground. Carlos looked behind him, "I'll handle Maze. You go help Amenadiel with Michael." Lucifer felt Carlos' command and nodded, walking over to where Michael and Amenadiel were still fighting. Carlos looked over to Maze who was standing up, "I don't want to fight you, Carlos. I want your father to pay. And Michael did say that you'll get in my way of what I want. I'm sorry." She charged in and Carlos blocked her every move. Maze tried to get her knives, but Carlos used his telekinesis to call the knives to him, "Sorry. You are not going to use these today." Maze felt her body obey Carlos' command as Carlos ran and knocked her to the ground again. Carlos knelt down, "No more fighting from you today. Stay here." Maze felt her body obey Carlos' command.
Michael was about to punch Amenadiel, but Lucifer blocked the punch with his hand and Amenadiel punched Michael, who flew and landed on the stairwell. Michael got up and it became a two vs one fight. Eventually they were choking each other until they all pushed away from each other and all three of them unfurled their wings. Carlos saw this as he was running over to help and thought, "Really?" He unfurled his wings and stopped in front of the three brothers. They were about to charge again and Carlos was about to command them to stop, when a voice shouted, "That's enough!" They all saw a white light coming from the stairwell and a man appeared on it. Lucifer whispered, "Dad." Carlos was shocked as he thought, "That's my grandfather?" The light dimmed a little to reveal a middle aged black man wearing a white sweater and beige pants. It was God himself. God sighed, "Children. You know I hate it when you fight."
