Lucifer was at Lux sitting next to one of his brothers, Jophiel, trying to convince him to vote for him to be God. A dancer was dancing on the table in front of them as Jopiel was all about ladies and booze. Lucifer said, "It's a hell of a choice you and the other angels have to make, brother. The Silver City must be all abuzz. Lucifer or Michael? I mean, for you it's obvious, though, isn't it, given the brotherhood we've forged together carousing on Earth for millennia. So, what's it gonna be, Jophiel?" Jophiel answered, "Uh, I'll have a Red Bull vodka, yo." Lucifer groaned as he knew that Jophiel wasn't very smart, "No, I mean for God. No, you're right. A drink first. Excuse us, love." The dancer left and Lucifer continued, "I actually ordered you something rather special." "You get Tito's?" Jophiel asked. "Grey Goose?" "It's Belisario Viscount," Lucifer revealed as the drink was delivered to the table. "It's one of, if not the finest vodkas in the world, 1.3 million….never mind, just try it." They both drunk it and Jophiel said, "That's hype, yo." "Hype indeed," Lucifer said. "As I was saying, I'm assuming you're Team Lucifer."

Jophiel sighed, "Yeah, uh, about that. For sure, you and I, we've always been tight. And I'll never forget the time you de-pantsed Napoleon. Little bitch-ass started spazzing. But you as God, bro, yeah, I'm not so sure." Lucifer replied, "Well, it's true I haven't always behaved in the most godly of ways, but let's be fair, I've also been a victim of Michael's smear campaign for the last millennia." Jophiel asked, "You saying you didn't, like, lead a full-on rebellion against Dad?" Lucifer sighed, "I'm saying, I'm not that guy anymore. Being here on Earth has changed me. It's given me the skills and experience to do the job. So, can I count on your support, bro?" Jophiel asked, "Dude, what's the catch?" "There's no catch," Lucifer said. Jophiel sighed, "Come on, Luce, it's you. There's always a catch." Lucifer replied, "The catch is if I'm not God, then Michael will be. What could be worse than that?" "Michael's not that bad," Jophiel argued. "Sure, he's got no chill, but he's been up in the Silver City this whole time, at Dad's side. He's, like, practically already in charge." "Exactly," Lucifer retorted. "Whispering in Dad's ear, making him think he was losing his powers in the first place, all so he could take over now." Jophiel said, "Yeah, Michael's kind of a dick." "He's a massive dick," Lucifer argued. Jophiel retorted, "But he keeps the trains running, you know." Lucifer sighed, "Are you seriously telling me that Michael has got your vote because he's the Devil you know. Do you have any idea how ironically infuriating that is?" Jophiel replied, "Sorry, Luce, I just don't see you as….God material. What's up, girl? Hey, cool if I hand for a while? Everything's comped, right? Love you, bro." Lucifer took the vodka and marched away angrily, "I wish I had Carlos here. Maybe he could persuade him to take my side. No, Lucifer, you need to do this the Godly way. Still, I hope Carlos is going well in Auradon with his mission."

Indeed, Carlos was back in Auradon as he wanted to warn the kingdom of his evil uncle. Especially wanted to warn them about his aunt who can travel to any dimension in order to deliver her messages. He feared that Gabriel would try to come here as part of Michael's plan. He was talking with King Ben and Queen Mal. Carlos said, "I am worried that Michael will try and come here to get revenge on me. I've thwarted him in the past and he may want revenge." Ben nodded, "OK then. We will put everyone on high alert until your uncle is defeated." Mal added, "I'll contact my father and alert him to raise security on the Isle. I'll work with Uma and Fairy Godmother on magical protection for us all. Can celestials be affected by magic?" "Yes," Carlos answered. "I've used your potion, Mal, on my dad to heal his wounds and it worked. I bet you that offensive and defensive magic can work against them. And remember, that my father was affected by the barrier when it was on the Isle when he visited my mother. I'd rather not go into more details." "Got it," Mal said. "If your uncle or any other angel shows up, we'll be ready."

Back in LA, Chloe was called onto a new case and Lucifer went with her. They arrived at the scene and Chloe asked while getting out of the car, "So what does being God's consultant actually look like?" Lucifer got out of the car and was confused, "Look like? I don't quite follow." "Well, yeah," Chloe replied. 'I've just been thinking about this next chapter in my…our lives and what it entails. I mean, do I get to pick my own hours, or…" "You can do whatever you want," Lucifer answered. Chloe asked, "Well, do I need to pull Trixie out of school? It's mid-semester, not the best timing. I mean, can I commute? Or does it not work that way? Oh, God, does this mean I have to die?" Lucifer answered, "No, no, of course not. And there's plenty of time to figure out logistics when and if I become God." Chloe nodded, "Right, yeah, you're right. I'm just trying to wrap my mind around what all of this means, the weight of it."

Lucifer stopped her, "Detective, you haven't handed in your two week notice yet, have you?" Chloe shook her head, "No, not yet. But I will, I mean…You don't think I'm getting cold feet, do you? My feet are warm as ever." Lucifer sighed, "Right, well, maybe just chill them a smidge because I'm not sure I can convince my siblings I'm the right angel for the God job." "Lucifer," Chloe replied. "If anyone in the entire universe can persuade them, it's you. Plus, you have a son that can literally persuade people." "You're right," Lucifer said. "What was I thinking? But I need to do this on my own. I want my siblings to choose of their own free will, not through my son using his own mojo to persuade them. Now, shall we, future Mrs. G?"

Inside, Ella was talking pictures of the victim, who was lying in a pool of blood and wine as the body was in a wine cellar. Dan was standing next to her, "Wow. Quite the scene." "I know," Ella replied. "I was kind of looking forward to cracking open a nice bottle of zin later. Now, not so much." "I get it," Dan said. "Speaking of wine, you know who'd be a great partner to enjoy some wine? My old partner." "Wow," Ella said sarcastically. "Really smooth transition there, Dan." Dan chuckled, "Come on, just hear me out, OK? Please. So my good buddy, Carol Corbett…." Ella interrupted, "He's got a girl's name? I'm out." Dan continued, "Yeah, but he's a guy and he's a good one. We were partnered up in the academy. But then he had to move back East." "Immature flight risk," Ella said. "Strike two." Dan continued, "He went back to help his mother when she got sick. But now, he's in town, doesn't really know anybody, and I don't know, I got this hunch. I think you guys would hit it off." Ella sighed, "Dan. I appreciate the offer. I really, really do, but I just…the truth is, I'm finally at peace with everything that happened, and with myself, getting back to neutral and I really don't want to throw a dude into the mix." Dan replied, "I get it. I just think you deserve someone equally as great as you are. That's it. Think about it."

Chloe and Lucifer walked in. Lucifer commented, "What a tragedy." Ella said, "Oh, I know, it's always sad when someone….Wait. You're talking about the wine, aren't you?" Lucifer nodded, "Heartbreaking, yes." "Who's the victim?" Chloe asked. Ella answered, "Our oenophile is Jonathan Donnelly, 53, a tech in the medical examiner's office. Cause of death, two gunshots to the chest, .45 caliber." "What about the bruises?" Chloe asked. Ella answered, "Well, it looks like he was tied down and forced to drink wine for a coulee of hours before he was shot." Lucifer said, "So you're saying he was water-Bordeaux-ed." Ella chuckled, "That's actually kind of funny." Dan chuckled as well. Chloe asked, "Do we know why he was here?" Dan answered, "Yeah, this is his wine locker." Lucifer scoffed, "Don't be ridiculous. A man of the departed's stature and income could never afford such an exquisite wine collection." "Great point," Dan agreed. "I'll look into his financials." Dan walked out and Chloe asked, "Anything else?" Ella answered, "So we also found a partial shoe print from a wine puddle over there. I doubt there's enough to match with anything. But we did get the victim's phone and a few days ago, he got a really mean text from someone named Mo." Ella showed the message to Chloe, who read, "You screwed me. You're gonna pay." Ella said, "I'll check the LUDs and see who the number belongs to." "Thanks, Ella," Chloe replied as Ella walked away. Chloe then looked around at all the police people and said to Lucifer, "Hey." Lucifer was trying to steal a bottle of wine, "What? He's not gonna need it." Chloe chuckled, "No, while Ella runs the numbers, um, there's just something I need to do." "Right," Lucifer replied as Chloe walked away.

Chloe ended up at LAPD and had gathered everyone in the building. Lucifer, Dan, and Ella were standing nearby. Chloe stood on the steps and said, "I just wanted you all to hear it from me first, that I just put in my two weeks notice because I'm retiring." The crowd was shocked as Chloe continued, "Um, many of my very best memories have happened right here. The good, the bad, the crazy. I know that the work we all do can be incredibly challenging, but I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else. And I appreciate each and every one of you, so it's not goodbye. It's just goodbye for now. All right? Thank you." The crowd clapped for Chloe as Ella asked Dan, "Did you know about this?" "No," Dan answered honestly. "But I got a pretty good idea what it's all about. Or should I say who it's about?" They saw Lucifer walk up and hug Chloe.

After the crowd dispersed, Dan walked up to Chloe and Chloe said, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you." Dan shook his head, "Oh, no, it's OK. I get it. I think. It's just…Wow. I'm so excited for you, Chloe." "Thank you," Chloe said. Then Ella cut in, "I, on the other hand, am very mucho not excited for you. I don't wanna solve crimes without you. Come on, Decker, retire? Is this really how it's gonna end? What, you gonna take up scrapbooking? You gonna foster cats, hmm?" Chloe replied, "I'm actually helping Lucifer take over the, um, family business." Ella looked over at Ella, "So you're both leaving?" Chloe and Lucifer nodded as Lucifer raised a mug, "Cheers?" But Ella hit him multiple times with a file while shouting at him in Spanish. Chloe sighed, "This was my choice." Ella sighed, then looked over at Lucifer, "Sorry. It's just….Florida? You guys, that is so far. Oh, that's where Lucifer's family business is, right?" Chloe lied, "We'll be a tad north of Florida, but, you know, I'm still gonna be here for you. I'm always gonna be around, you know, but from a distance. At least, I think that's how it works. And, um, no need to worry. For now, let's focus on the case. Uh, did we find out who sent the threatening text?" Ella nodded, "Odetta Watson. Apparently, she's a psychic with an office on Highland." "Oh, maybe she can divine us some clues," Lucifer commented. "Yeah," Ella replied. "Find out if I'm acquitted of your murder after you abandon me!"

Ella then turned back to Lucifer, "What about Carlos? Is he going with you guys?" Lucifer answered since he could honestly, for the most part, "Well, Carlos is still in his senior year of high school and he's there right now. He had already planned for college and he'll visit us during breaks but I want him to focus on his future before he needs to think about….the family business." Ella sighed, "Poor kid. Maybe he can at least still visit after you guys abandon me!" She stormed off, leaving Lucifer and Chloe alone with the file.

Lucifer and Chloe went over to Odetta's place, where she greeted them and took them to her table, "Let us all just breathe, open our chakras." Lucifer whispered to Chloe, "Mind if I ask a few questions before you get to yours?" Chloe nodded as they all sat down. Odetta said, "Listen. The spirits are very loud today." Lucifer replied, "Yes, I think I can hear them. My dad did give some humans the gift, you know. Maybe this is one of the real ones." Odetta held out her hands and Lucifer and Chloe took them. Odetta closed her eyes, "I can feel your great uncertainty in the time of change. You are worried about a health issue. That could potentially develop due to all the stress you are having over a professional opportunity?" Lucifer nodded, "Yes, I'm up for a big promotion in the family business." Odetta said, "Right. Oh, I can see it clearly now. But there is strife within the family." "Right," Chloe replied. "Because all families are functional." Odetta continued, "And it seems you are not the only one vying for the job." Lucifer smirked, "Amazing, yes. My no-good, manipulative bastard of a brother is trying to steal it out from under me. In fact, there are just a few swing votes left. Can you tell me how to convince my siblings I'm the right man for the job?" Odetta replied, "You must lean into your strengths." "Lean into my strengths," Lucifer repeated. "That's genius!" Chloe chuckled, then cleared her throat, "I'm sorry. Continue." Odetta looked over at Chloe, "I am sensing you are the skeptic in the relationship." Lucifer chuckled, "How is she even doing this?"

Odetta then asked, "So, why are you here?" Chloe answered, "We are here about Jonathan Donnelly." "Who is that?" Odetta asked. Chloe replied, "He is the guy that you've been sending threatening texts to, and don't bother denying it. Your phone records show repeated calls and texts to and from him." Odetta realized, "Oh, That Jonathan, yes. I didn't know you meant him. I have read for him in the past." Lucifer then said, "If you're a real psychic, surely you would've known that." Odetta explained, "Actually, my speciality is channeling the dead, and since Jonathan is very much alive….." Chloe interrupted, "Actually, Jonathan is very much dead. Tortured and shot in his wine locker shortly after receiving your threatening text." Odetta said, "Hold on, Jonathan is dead? And you think I did it?" Lucifer asked, "How did you not see that coming?" Chloe answered, "Because she's not a psychic. She's a con artist. You advertise that you an locate lost items from dead relatives, and you know who'd be the perfect accomplice in that scam? A tech from the ME's office, who has access to bodies and their valuables." Odetta replied, "That is absurd. I would never." Chloe retorted, "One call to a judge, I subpoena your records. I get proof, and you go down for fraud and murder."

Odetta said, "Hang on now. I didn't kill anybody. OK? Why would I kill Jonathan? Our hustle was genius. He would steal a valuable off a body, plant it somewhere and then use targeted online ads to direct the family to use me." Chloe nodded, "And then you magically find the family heirloom." Odetta nodded as Lucifer said, "You may not be a real medium, but that is an excellent scam. Respect." "Thank you," Odetta said to Lucifer. "You're welcome," Lucifer replied. Odetta said to Chloe, "But you see why I would be a total idiot to stop that money train. Right?" Chloe asked, "Where were you last night at 8:00 p.m.?" Odetta answered, "Giving a reading to a programming exec at Fox." "Oh, good luck with that," Lucifer commented. Chloe said, "So, just say that story checks out, do you know of anyone else who would wanna hurt Jonathan?" Odetta said, "Maybe one of the other families found out that their stuff was being sold?" "What do you mean other families?" Lucifer asked. "The ones that didn't bite," Odetta explained. "Jonathan would give whatever he took from their dead relatives to a fence named TJ, and then TJ would sell it on the black market." "Great," Chloe said. "What's TJ's last name?" "I don't know," Odetta answered. "But I know that he works out of Hollywood." "Helpful," Lucifer said as he and Chloe stood up and left.

Over in Auradon, Carlos was walking with Jane around Auradon Prep. Jane said, "So I talked to my mom. She's going to keep the museum under lock down and she will have her wand on her at all times. Is Mal going to talk to Hades?" Carlos nodded, "Yep. Just in case my angel uncle try to come here to recruit any of the villains still imprisoned on the Isle." "So," Jane asked. "What do you think Michael will do if he comes here?" Carlos sighed, "That's just it. I don't know. So that's why I am trying to plan ahead of him. And I think my Aunt Gabriel might be able to bring him here as she can apparently travel to other dimensions. We all need to be on our guard." Dude was walking with them, "I will definitely keep my ears, eyes, and nose out for anything fishy." Everyone nodded in agreement.

Back in LA, Dan was playing a card game with Trixie. He slammed a card down, "Boom! Rainbow Lasso, which means I get to take Mr. Narwhal and put him in my stable." Trixie shook her head, "No, Dad, you can only throw Rainbow Lasso if she's in your hand at the beginning of your turn." "Oh, come on," Dan complained. "You know what? These rules are confusing." "Or maybe I'm just better at building unicorn armies," Trixie retorted. Dan scoffed, "Yeah, right." Trixie put a card down, "I win." "What?" Dan said as he slammed down the cards he had. "Come on! Again?" "Want another shot at the unicorn title?" Trixie asked. "Yeah," Dan said. But Trixie then said, "But I go first because I'm wearing the most colorful clothes. Ok, fine. I'll lend you my glitter scarf, and then you can go first. But you have to wear it." Dan chuckled, "I promise." Trixie smirked, "OK. And I have to go find it." "Cool," Dan replied. "I'll clean up our mess."

Trixie ran to her bedroom and Dan worked on cleaning up. He heard someone knocking on the door and went to open it to reveal Ameandiel. Dan smiled, "Hey, what's going on man?" Amenadiel walked in and said, "Dan, I figured it out." "What's that?" Dan asked. Amenadiel replied, "Uh, what I'm gonna do here now that I've decided to stay. I'm gonna become a policeman. I mean, I really like helping people, and what better way to do that than putting away criminals?" Dan chuckled, "You wanna be a cop?" Amenadiel nodded, "Won't it be great? I mean, we can even work together one day." Dan chuckled, "Oh, yeah, yeah, an angel and a detective solving crimes, makes total sense." Amenadiel realized, "You don't think it's a good idea." Dan sighed, "It's just that, bro, you're a freaking angel. You were almost God. I mean, there's gotta be something that better suits your skill set." Amenadiel said, "So you think it's a bad idea because I wouldn't be any good at it." Dan shook his head, "No, that's not what I saiid. It's just that there are different kinds of people. Different kinds of jobs." Amenadiel scoffed, "You know something? Of all people, I really thought you'd be the one that would be most excited for me." Amenadiel walked out before Dan could stop him.

Over at Lux, Lucifer was talking to the second swing vote, Saraqael, who said, "Why bother, Lucifer? You're not getting my vote. Yea, I supported you once in the rebellion, but then I had to suffer Dad's passive-aggressive wrath. And try climbing out of that proverbial doghouse. And it certainly doesn't help your case that even Jophiel, who, let's face it, it an idiot, even he thinks your pitch is lacking. Truth is I'm only here as a courtesy." Lucifer chuckled, "Saraqael. Sara. What is it you truly desire?" Saraqael chuckled, "You seriously think I'm going to fall for your silly little parlor trick? Your son would of had a better chance. Yes, I heard all about his little persuasion gift." Lucifer said, "A not-so-wise woman recently suggested I lean into my strengths. And no, my son would never use his powers to force anyone to take my side." Saraquel shrugged, "Too bad she didn't teach you how to put your losses. And your son is a smart kid for thinking that."

Lucifer said, "I learned I needed to ask not what angels can do for you, but what can you do for the angels?" "I have no idea what that means," Saraqael replied. "It means you're right," Lucifer said. "I shouldn't try and convince you I'd be a better God than Michael. What I should do is the one thing I can do better than anyone and that is grant favors. So, again, I humbly ask you, what is it you desire?" Saraqael scoffed, "I'm an angel, Lucifer, I'm totally above the age passions and petty desires that humans fall prey to. Oh, my God, is that Michael Voltaggio?" Indeed the very man walked in as Lucifer said, "You mean, Top Chef champion Michael Voltaggio? Why, yes it is. Hello, Michael." Michael said, "You're Lucifer's sister, right?" Saraqael asked, "Michael, is that really you in the flesh? Your egg yolk gnocchi is divine, and I should know, because I am an angel. But you, you are such a bad boy, and I am feeling hungry." Lucifer chuckled, "Anyway, Michael, would you excuse us for just a moment?" Michael nodded, "Sure, I'll just be over at the bar."

Michael walked away as Lucifer explained, "So, I have arranged for you to have the full Volt VIP experience. A Friday night reservation for life at Estuary, his new restaurant in DC, Michael's special recipe for rice pilaf, and his personal phone number. In exchange, all I ask is for your support." Saraqael sighed, "Wow, I mean, I gotta hand it to you, Lucifer. It's gonna be really hard to say no after that. Amazing, thank you." Lucifer said, "Well, truth be told, Michael owes me. How else do you think he won Top Chef? That squab was inedible." Saraqael replied, "But still, I mean, this is a really big favor to ask. You must really wanna be God. Actually, why do you want it so badly?" Lucifer was shocked, "Um, well, you know, because who wouldn't want it?" Saraqael chuckled, "Right. YOu know what? I actually need to think about this a little more. I should go." Saraqael walked over to talk with Michael as Lucifer sighed in defeat.

Lucifer met up with Chloe later to track down TJ and he was telling her about what happened with his sister, "Michael Voltaggio is the worst." "What are you talking about?" Chloe asked. Lucifer explained, "My campaign to become God, it's hit another snag. It's a disaster." "It can't be that bad," Chloe replied. Lucifer sighed, "Well, at least it's not boring. Unlike this, our final case. I mean, how many fences called TJ can there be in Hollywood? We've seen six already." Chloe replied, "Well, we only have five to go, and come on, you're not gonna miss this? Even a little bit?" "I'd rather have a colonoscopy," Lucifer said. Chloe sighed, "Well, for me, it's the shoe leather, the day to day chasing down the boring long shots, you know? It's….that's the fun part. I am gonna miss it." Lucifer stopped and looked at her, "You know what I am gonna miss? That look in your eyes right now. Maybe you shouldn't quit." "What?" Chloe replied. "No, I want to. I wanna be with you." They leaned in and kissed each other, but then they heard a door creaking. They broke apart and noticed the front door of the house open. Chloe pulled out her gun and asked, "Who leaves their door open in LA?" "No one," Lucifer answered. "Lock's broken."

They went inside and Lucifer noticed, "Hello. Look at all these stolen goodies." "Oh," Chloe replied. "Looks like we found the right TJ." Lucifer picked up a watch, "Oh! Vintage Rolex. What sort of idiot would leave this behind? It's worth a fortune." Chloe noticed a plant fallen with dirt around it along with a boot mark, "I bet this boot mark is gonna match the one we found at the wine cellar. Well, whoever searched this place was definitely looking for something in particular." "I wonder if they found it," Lucifer said.

"Found what?" They turned to see a man standing there with groceries. "TJ Ross?" Chloe asked. "Who wants to know?" TJ asked back. Chloe answered, "Detective Decker, LAPD. We're here to talk about the death of Jonathan Donnelly." TJ backed away, "Stay away. I don't wanna hurt you." Lucifer chuckled, "You? Hurt us? Adorable. Come along now, TJ." He walked towards TJ, but was shocked that TJ kicked him hard and Lucifer flew several feet backwards and crashed into a table. Chloe came running over and TJ ran out the door and jumped high in the sky away. Lucifer asked, "What was that?"

They went back to LAPD with a photo of the boot print and went over the evidence with Dan and Ella, who said, "Size 13. Taken from the rubble at TJ Ross' house. Bigger than any of his shoes, but it does match the shoe print we found at the wine locker." Chloe asked, "So whoever killed Jonathan Donnelly also ransacked TJ's place?" Dan said, "They had to be looking for something Jonathan stole off a corpse." Lucifer added, "Given what was left behind, I'd say they haven't found it yet." "But what is this object?" Ella asked. "Who wants it? And why? And where does our killer buy his enormous boots? It's all a mystery, isn't it? A thrilling, tangled web of discovery and contradiction that you two are never gonna see because you're running off to stupid Alabama! And you are leaving your son alone at wherever he goes to school!" Lucifer whispered to Chloe, "She thinks we're going north of Florida. We're definitely not going there." Dan commented, "Alabama's actually really nice." Lucifer scoffed, "You would think that. And plus, Miss Lopez, I am not leaving my son alone. He's surrounded by his girlfriend and other friends at school. I don't want to take him away from that."

Chloe interrupted, "OK, everybody. Let's focus on the killer. Our priority now is TJ Ross. We find him, we find what the killer wants, that might lead us to him. So Lucifer and I will focus on his friends and family." "And there are TJ's usual clients," Dan added. "Yeah," Ella said. "But the client list we found on TJ's computer runs in the hundreds." Lucifer sighed, "I foresee great boredom in my future." Dan said, "You know what? Why don't I get started on that list?" "Are you sure?" Chloe asked. Dan nodded, "Yeah, I mean, it's your last case. Least I can do is help with the grunt work." Lucifer smirked, "Thank you, Daniel. Take one for the team." "I got it," Dan said as Lucifer and Chloe left. He turned to Ella, "Hey, you. You forgot this." He held up a piece of paper and Ella asked, "What's that?" "It's my friend Carol's phone number," Dan answered. Ella groaned, "Dan, no!" Dan smiled, "Come on, please. You gotta call him, please. Please, for me. Mi hermanita, por favor." Sighing, Ella took the paper and Dan said, "Yes! You won't regret it, I promise." "Mm-hmm," Ella replied. "He better be cute!" "He's beautiful," Dan replied as he walked away.

Lucifer and Chloe were looking over the list as Chloe commented, "We still have to figure out what was going on with that superhuman kick. Are we dealing with something celestial?" Lucifer sighed, "I don't know, but I have a theory. I can check it out." Chloe said, "Also, maybe we should talk to Carlos. If we are dealing with celestial stuff, then your son can help us. Maybe even use that mirror of his to find TJ." Lucifer sighed, "Carlos is busy back in Auradon with school and trying to make sure my twin doesn't show up there for any reason. I'll only call him if it's an emergency." Chloe sighed, "OK. Then you go find out what TJ is, and I'll track down where he is the old fashioned way." "Right," Lucifer said as they parted ways.

Over in Auradon, a mysterious portal opened in the woods and Gabriel stepped through. "Ah," Gabriel commented. "So this is Auradon. Looks like our Earth to me." Then she reached into the portal behind her and pulled Michael through. He said, "You didn't have to drag me." Gabriel sighed, "We have to be close together or you can't come with me." Michael sighed, "Fine. Now, do you know what the plan is?" Gabirel nodded, "Yep. Look through Carlos' room and deliver my message to this Jane and use this." She held up a small bag and Michael smirked, "Good. Then go ahead and get going. And don't forget about the talking dog. We need to stay on schedule. I have to sneak over to this Isle." He turned to walk away as Gabriel asked, "Why again?" Michael turned and said, "To introduce myself to Carlos' mother. And to give her a proposition."

Back in LA at Linda's house, Linda was sitting on the couch as Maze was going through different outfits for her Queen of Hell look. Maze pulled out a mask and asked, "What do you think? Mask? No mask?" Linda replied, "Maybe no mask?" "Yeah," Maze said, tossing the mask to the side. "You're right. Nothing says wrath like my demon face. But I still feel like I need something that says, you know, "I've returned to fiercely rule over you for all of eternity." But like, not in a nerdy way. Think murderously aspirational." Linda said, "Well, I like the blue one." Maze replied, "Yeah, you're not helping, Linda." Linda asked, "OK, is it possible that you're fixating on this outfit because you're really worried about something else?" Maze sighed, "Well, I am worried that Lucifer won't pull his head out of his ass and become God." Linda said, "No, I was actually thinking that you might be concerned about becoming the Queen of Hell." Maze asked, "What would worry me about that?" Linda replied, "Well, maybe that you have a soul now. And you might be worried that that soul might hinder the joy you once felt by torturing others." Maze said, "Yeah. The whole soul thing, it isn't for me. I'm the one who grew it, so I'm just gonna let it slowly suffocate and die. Like I did with Chad." Linda was confused, "Who's Chad?" "Doesn't matter," Maze answered.

Linda sighed, "OK, so, um, Maze, listen. You grew a soul through the relationships that you nurtured here on Earth. Through the moments that you shared with people who care about you. Like me. Are you really sure that you wanna just suffocate the wonderful times we've shared?" Maze said, "Oh, Linda. I know what you're doing. You don't want me to go do you're covertly trying to get into my head." Linda shook her head, "No, I'm overtly trying to get in your head. You don't have to do this." Maze argued, "Yes, I do. The alternative is much worse."

They heard the door open and they turned to see Lucifer standing there, "Oh, there you are. What are you wearing? You look like a lonely xylophone. Uh, Doctor, would you excuse us just a moment?" Linda nodded, "I thought you'd never ask." Once Linda left, Lucifer asked, "Have you heard of any demons roaming the Earth lately?" "Why?" Maze asked back. Lucifer explained, "There appears to be a human with super strength and a hurdling technique to match, running around Hollywood." He showed her a picture of TJ, but Maze said, "I haven't heard of any. But you never know. The throne of Hell is empty, after all. If you are concerned, there is an easy way for you to get the Underworld in check." Lucifer nodded, "Yes, yes, get elected God so I can make you Queen, I get it. Just keep an eye out for rogue demons and don't worry about the election. I have it handled." "Do you?" Maze asked. "Zadkiel is your last swing vote, and he hates you. For this and this other thing, why don't you ask Carlos for help? He is your son after all." Lucifer sighed, "Yes, Zadkiel hates me. But I have a plan. I'm going to tell him something I've never told anyone before." "What's that?" Maze asked.

"I was wrong," Lucifer said later in his penthouse where Zadkiel was sitting on one of the couches, Lucifer making a drink for both of them and walking over and giving one to him. "I know, it's a miracle. But as much as it pains me to say, my rebellion was ill-conceived. Why? Because I did it for the wrong reasons. I rebelled out of anger at Father out of a desire to prove that I was better than him, but I've changed. I've spent my time on Earth growing, getting over my Daddy issues. I know how monumental his job actually was and is now. Those are big shoes to fill, but I promise you, Zadkiel, I will give it my absolute best." Zadkiel replied, "Lucifer. Wow. That was well spoken. Emotionally evolved. Impressive." He raised his glass and Lucifer clinked his glass to Zadkiel's, "Impressive enough to possibly win over the Angel of Righteousness?" Zadkiel answered, "I mean, no. It's always gonna be a no. Although I am glad you didn't use your son to persuade me." Lucifer chuckled, "You don't wanna meet Michael Voltaggio, do you?" Zadkiel shook his head, "I'm just here for the whiskey. Jophiel said you bribed him with top shelf. And to each you grovel."

Lucifer sighed as he stood up, "Of course it was never gonna work, was it? All that nonsense about making peace with Father and growing as an angel. You know, the crazy thing is, it's all true, but it's not the whole truth. You really wanna know why I'm doing all of this? Why I'm trying to become God? I'm doing it for love. And it gets worse. I'm doing it for the love of a human and the love for my son. I am trying to be God so that I can finally be worthy of both of them. Also so that my son, his future children, and other future children of us doesn't have to grow up like he did. With an abusive mother, trapped in his own home like a slave, when he could have the love and protection that I can give. So there you have it, enjoy the top shelf." Lucifer turned to walk away, but Zadkiel asked, "This woman, is she the gift Father made for you? And did my nephew really go through all of that?" Lucifer growled, "Her name is Chloe Decker and she is much more that that! And my son has been through so much in his young life that you haven't even experienced. So yes, I am doing this for the wrong reasons again, but you know what? I don't care. All I care about is Chloe and Carlos. Which is why I have to make this happen, and I will. No matter what the costs. With or without your vote." Lucifer turned and stormed out, leaving Zadkiel alone in the penthouse.

Meanwhile, Dan was going up to a house that was on his list and knocked on the door. A woman answered and Dan asked, "Brooke Frier?" Brooke answered, "I'm Mrs. Frier." Dan pulled out his badge and said, "Oh, I'm Detective Espinoza, with the LAPD. Listen, we know that you were a client of TJ Ross. I'm not here to trip you up about that, Mrs. Frier. We have information regarding a possible threat. Somebody's after one of TJ's stolen items, and they've already killed somebody to get it." "That's horrible," Brooke replied. Dan nodded, "Yeah. Yes, ma'am, it is, and if I can find you, then the killer can find you. So I'm just wondering if you've noticed anything out of the ordinary. You know, strangers lurking around or anything like that."

What Dan didn't know what that there was a gunman behind the door pointing a gun at her head. Brooke answered, "No, I haven't. And if that's all, I should go. Got a roast in the oven." Dan nodded, "Sure. Yeah, absolutely, thank you for your time. You have a wonderful day." He turned and walked away while Brooke closed the door and the gunman forced her to move.

Dan, however, felt like something was up, and pulled out his phone, "Hey. Espinoza. A possible home invasion. Layton Street, Hancock Park. Request immediate backup." But then he heard a gun behind him and a man said, "Hang up the phone." Dan did just that. He turned and they started to fight before Dan was knocked out.

Over in Auradon, Gabriel found her way to the dorms at Auradon Prep. She teleported herself inside and found Carlos' room first. She saw Dude lying on the bed snoozing. She crept inside, trying not to wake the dog. She started to poke her noise into Carlos' things, when she heard, "Who are you and what are you doing?" She turned to find Dude had woken up and now was growling at her. Panicking, Gabriel quickly got out the bag Michael gave her, reached inside to grab some powder and she threw it at Dude. It was a strong sleeping powder and it knocked Dude right out. Gabriel smirked, "That was close. But there isn't anything here that Michael described as what Carlos might use to get ahead of him. Oh well, time to deliver my message to the girl." She teleported out of Carlos' room.

She found herself on a cliffside and saw Jane there, putting down a blanket along with a picnic basket. Jane saw movement out of the corner of her eyes and turned to see Gabriel standing there. She stood up quickly in shock, but Gabriel said, "It's OK. I'm not here to hurt you. I just have a message to deliver to you. It's kind of my job." Jane narrowed her eyes, "You're Gabriel. One of Carlos' aunts. I know who you are. It looks like Carlos' suspicions were right. You are on Michael's side. He's also here, isn't he?" Gabriel sighed, "I have to say, my nephew is pretty observant for a half angel. But for now, I just want to deliver my message. Michael wants Carlos out of the way. He feels that he, along with Lucifer, will try to make sure he can't become God, when honestly Michael should." Jane replied, "You're wrong. Michael has done terrible things, Gabriel. He doesn't deserve the throne." Jane quickly pulled out her phone and immediately called Carlos, but before she could, Gabriel quickly pulled out more sleeping powder and threw it at Jane, and Jane's phone slipped out of her hand before she fell unconscious. Gabriel sighed, "Great. Now I have a teenager on my hands. Maybe I should take her to Michael and see what he wants to do." She picked Jane up and teleported away.

Carlos was heading back to his dorm room when he saw that his door was open. Feeling a sense of dread, he ran inside and saw that his room had been picked apart and Dude was passed out cold. He threw his backpack that he was wearing down to the ground and ran over to Dude, "Dude! Wake up! Please!" But Dude was not waking up. Quickly, he reached into his jacket and pulled out Mal's potion. He opened Dude's mouth and put a couple drops in Dude's mouth. A few seconds later, Dude awoke and said, "Wow, that was trippy. Carlos! There was an intruder in your room!" "Who was it?" Carlos asked. "A lady wearing blue robes," Dude answered. Carlos realized, "Gabriel. I knew it! She's on Michael's side. Which means he might be here too." He ran over to his computer and started a program that was an alarm system for all of Auradon, warning everyone that intruders were there, specifically celestial ones. Carlos pulled out his mirror and said, "Mirror, mirror in my hand, where does Gabriel stand?" The mirror showed Gabriel standing near the bridge to the Isle holding Jane in her grasp. Carlos saw the state Jane was in and his eyes glowed red in anger. He turned to Dude, "I'm going after Gabriel. She has Jane. You go and find Ben and Mal. Make sure they the alert has gotten to them and Hades. Michael may be on the Isle." Carlos ran out of the room and Dude followed. What Carlos didn't know was that in his rush, he forgot to turn his phone off silent mode, as he was in class, and missed the calls from Lucifer.

Over in LA, Lucifer groaned as he still couldn't get a hold of Carlos as he and Chloe were at Brooke Frier's home later that night. The gunman had killed Brooke and corners were taking her body away. Ella walked over to them, "Two gunshots to the chest, .45 caliber. Same MO as Jonathan Donnelly. I'd say it's definitely the same killer." Chloe just got off the phone and Ella asked, "Were they able to ping Dan's phone?" Chloe shook her head, "No. They must have turned it off. Lucifer, were you able to get a hold of Carlos?" Lucifer shook his head, "No, he's not answering. I wish he was here. He would be able to track Dan quickly." Ells sighed, "I can't believe he cam there alone. I should have gone with him." Chloe said, "No, no, no, Ella, we can't go there. Not yet, you know. This house was ransacked too, so maybe the killer didn't find what they were looking for." "Which means they would have incentive to keep Dan alive," Lucifer added. Chloe nodded, "Right. So let's just do our job and let's find him."

Lucifer noticed something, "Look at those flowers. Looks like there was a scuffle." Ella and Chloe noticed it too and Chloe said, "He must have fought back." Ella found a phone all broken, "Guys. He doesn't even have his phone." Chloe sighed, "This is bad." Lucifer retorted, "No, no, this is Daniel. He's more than capable." Chloe said, "You're right. Hey, hey. I think there's something there, too." They turned and saw more signs of a scuffle and Ella said, "Yeah. Definitely seems like there was some kind of fight. You guys. It looks like there's something down there." They found a drain and Lucifer pulled off the metal cover. Chloe reached in and pulled out a necklace, "He left us a clue."

They went back to LAPD and to Ella's lab. Eventually, Ella said, "Dog tags. French Foreign Legion, to be exact. Been using the same one since the '40s." "Got a name?" Chloe asked. Ella nodded, "Yep. Sayeed Faisal. Algerian. Dishonorably discharged. He's been linked to a ruthless mercenary group led by this guy, Vincent Le Mec." Chloe read his file, "We got running guns, kidnapping, murder, so he's impossible to find because they never leave witnesses. This is all my fault. I've been so focused on finding TJ that I forgot the detective work, and now Dan's…" Chloe started to cry and Lucifer said, "No. You said hit yourself. We can't go there." "Exactly," Ella agreed. "We are gonna find him, you guys. We're gonna find him."

Suddenly Maze walked in, "Who took Dan? I'll kill him. Hmm, this guy? Who is he?" Chloe answered, "Vincent Le Mec, he's a French mercenary, and we have no idea where he is." Maze replied, "I'll find him." She walked away, but Lucifer stopped her and whispered, "I have no doubt, Mazikeen, but time is of the utmost essence. We need all the help we can get. You know who's good at finding criminals." "Other criminals," Maze realized. "But what about Carlos? His mirror can track exactly where Dan is." Lucifer sighed, "I've been trying to call him but he's not picking up. So we have to relay on criminals. Lucky for us, there are a lot who owe me favors." Maze asked, "Which favors do you want me to call in?" "All of them," Lucifer answered.

Meanwhile, Dan was tied to a chair and getting pounded on in an abandoned sewer tunnel. Vincent signaled for his man to stop hitting and pulled out a picture of TJ, "Where is this man?" Dan answered, "I have no idea who he is." He got hit again and Vincent asked, "What about now, hmm?" "I don't know," Dan answered. "I swear." Vincent showed another picture of the gravestone of Caleb Mayfield and asked, "And this?" "Why are you showing me a grave?" Dan asked back. "Is this supposed to be some sort of threat?" Vincent chuckled, then pulled out his gun, "You're lying." "I'm not," Dan insisted. Vincent sighed and walked away, Dan getting hit again. Vincent's phone went off and he answered it, "Hello. Police? OK, d'accord." He put the phone away and signaled for his man and the man pulled out his gun.

Back at LAPD, Chloe said to Lucifer and Amenadiel, who they called in, "So we've got a guy with superhuman strength running around LA." "Maze and I don't think he's a demon," Lucifer added. "Could this be Michael related?" Chloe asked. Amenadiel sighed, "Maybe. I don't know. Remiel said that Michael disappeared from the Silver City this morning. But he didn't come here." "Yes," Chloe replied. "But couldn't TJ be doing his bidding?" "But why would Michael use a lowly jewelry fence?" Lucifer asked. "And it still doesn't explain TJ's super strength. Or how this could even help Michael win an election." Maze came in and said, "Got a list of places the mercenaries could be." "Great, how many?" Chloe asked. Maze sighed, "A lot." Chloe replied. "OK. We divide and conquer. The angels take the furthest location, and this time, nobody goes alone." Everyone nodded, but Lucifer thought, "I wish Carlos was here to help. What is going on with him that he can't answer his phone?"

Back in Auradon, Gabriel was standing near the Isle bridge waiting for Michael. "Come on, brother," Gabriel whispered. "Where are you?" Suddenly she heard whooshing and said, "There you are, brother. I've been waiting for a while." But she turned around and saw Carlos standing there, red eyes glowing back at her. Gabriel gulped, "Uh oh. Carlos, hey. How's my nephew doing?" Carlos growled, "Don't move." Gabriel felt her body freeze and Carlos looked down at Jane and said, "Tell me what you did to her." Gabriel obeyed, "I went to deliver a message to her and she was going to alert you, so I just threw this powder Michael gave me. She's fine. Just sleeping. She'll wake up, I think." Carlos growled and stormed over to her and grabbed onto her neck and hoisted her up into the air, "Michael is also here, isn't he?" Gabriel nodded and Carlos smirked, "You are going to tell me why Michael came here and where he is."

Michael approached Hell Hall on the Isle and went inside. He looked around and found his target sitting on a lounge chair with glasses and cigarettes around her. Michael walked over and Cruella heard the footsteps, "A visitor. Or maybe I'm losing it again." Michael came into her view and Cruella looked up, "Lucifer, but not. That scar isn't on his face and you hold yourself differently. Who are you?" Michael smirked, "I'm Lucifer twin brother, Michael. I've come here to offer you a proposition." Cruella laughed, "A proposition? How funny. As you can see, I have everything that I want. For the rest of my miserable life." Michael scoffed, "Why Lucifer made a child with you is anybody's guess." Cruella chuckled, "That was years ago, darling. Back when I was still in my prime. Somehow I used that last of my magic to call Lucifer here so that I could have a good time on this dump of an island. He gave me a son I didn't want. Now that he's gone, good riddance." Michael leaned down, "What if you could get rid of your son for good?" Cruella looked up, "What are you saying?" Micael pulled away, "Right now, I am almost at my goal of ruling Heaven and Earth. And your son is someone that stands in my way. I can give you the means to get rid of your son forever. You just have to agree to join me."

He held out his hand and Cruella chuckled, "Sounds promising. But is that all that's in it for me?" Michael added, "You will be free of this place and you can do whatever you want. No son to stop you after you finish him. Isn't that what you want? I can sense the fear you have of your son now that you know how powerful he's become. I have the means to end him." Cruella chuckled, "I may fear my son, but I'm not stupid, despite how crazy I've become. In fact, you're the one who's stupid right now." She started to laugh evilly as Michael scoffed, "What makes you say that?" Cruella looked at him, "Because you don't realize whose turf you just set foot in. This may be my house, but I think you just pissed off the warden."

Suddenly, Michael was grabbed from behind and held up high. He looked down and saw Hades, his blue hair all aflame. Hades chuckled, "Look what we have here. An intruder. Lucifer's twin brother. Coming to my Isle thinking he's smarter than me. I'm going to escort you off personally. Along with that sister of yours that brought you here." Michael was shocked, "Who are you? And how did you know?" Hades smirked, "Hades, God of the Underworld, well, formally. And your nephew is smarter than you think. He's already located your sister. And my daughter was quick to inform me that you might have been coming here to talk to Cruella. It wasn't that hard to figure out. And you will pay for messing with my Isle. Cruella, have a good day." Cruella cackled evilly as Hades dragged Michael out of Hell Hall.

Gabriel had just finished confessing what Michael was planning as Dude ran over with Mal, Ben, Evie, Jay, and Fairy Godmother. Suddenly blue flames appeared and Hades stepped out of them with Michael in tow. Carlos smirked, "Look who it is. It seems your plan failed, Uncle." He dropped Gabriel, who coughed loudly trying to get her breath back. Hades smirked, "He was right where you thought he would go. Thanks also to my daughter for giving me the heads up." Mal smiled, "No problem, Dad." Michael growled, "You knew I was up to something. Clever little nephew. But oh look, it seems your little girlfriend won't wake up. What a pity." Carlos chuckled, "You really don't have a clue, do you?" Carlos walked over to Jane, leaned down, and kissed her on the lips. Jane woke up as Carlos pulled away and Carlos looked back at Michael, "Here, true love's kiss works every time." Michael and Gabriel were shocked as Carlos helped Jane up. "Are you OK?" Carlos asked. Jane nodded, "I am. I just want these two to leave."

Ben stepped forward, "I agree. You two are trespassing on my kingdom. I hereby banish you back to your world, and you two will never step foot on this world ever again." Michael pulled out Azrael's blade and some people stepped back. Michael chuckled as he and Gabriel backed up to the water, "Keep back. This blade can kill anything. Including myself. So don't come any closer."

Behind him, Uma's ship, The Lost Revenge, sailed in and Michael and Gabriel turned around. Uma smirked, "So you two are the idiots who thought you could mess with this place. Not going to happen." "You said it, captain," Harry said beside her. Michael and Gabriel backed away as Ben pulled out a sword and said, "You may have a powerful blade, but so do I. Excaliber is pretty powerful itself." Mal then said as her eyes glowed, "Your plan is over." Fairy Godmother waved her wand, "Don't try anything stupid." Carlos then stepped forward and commanded, "You two will never step foot in Auradon ever again." Ben added, "As of now, we are enemies." Gabriel immediately opened her own portal and started to drag Michael through it, who shouted, "You may win this, but I still have one other victory for today. I may have failed here, but back in LA, I have won. Because you can't be in two places at once." The portal closed and everyone but Carlos breathed a sign of relief. Jane noticed Carlos' face go pale, and she asked, "Carlos, what's wrong?" "Something must be happening in LA." Evie noticed a light in Carlos' pants and said, "Carlos, your phone." Carlos puled out his phone and saw several missed calls from his dad. "What is it?" Jay asked. Carlos answered, "Something bad enough for my dad to call me several times. I need to get to LA right now. Can you guys handle everything else?" Mal said, "Of course, Carlos. Go. Finish that uncle of yours." Carlos opened a portal and ran through it.

Back with Dan, the man holding the gun to his head said, "Desole, monsieur, it's not personal." Dan muttered something and the man asked, "What?" "I'm tired," Dan whispered. The man put the gun down and leaned in, "What did you say?" Dan then used his head to hit the man, who tumbled backwards. Dan broke the chair he was in and got his legs untied. He started to fight the man and eventually put his bound hands around the man's neck and choked him until he fell unconscious. As Dan got up to leave, he was suddenly shot in the abdomen. He turned to see Vincent standing there, who shot him two more times.

Chloe and Maze, along with other police officers, found their way to the abandoned sewer tunnel and found Dan leaning against a stairwell. Chloe ran over and Dan mumbled, "Chloe." Chloe replied, "Dan. It's OK. You're OK. We're gonna get you help. Cacuzza!" Dan then whispered, "Caleb." Chloe replied, "What? Stop. Save your breath. Get help, now!" Cacuzza ran off to get help while Dan whispered, "Listen to me. I held on to tell you, it's Caleb." Chloe nodded, "OK, Caleb. OK, I hear you. Listen to me, you're gonna be OK, all right? You're gonna be OK." Dan fell to the ground, "It's too late." Chloe replied, "Just breathe. It's not too late, stay with me, breathe." "Tell Trixie I love her," Dan whispered. Chloe shook her head, "No." Dan continued, "Tell her that I'm gonna miss making unicorn armies with her." "No," Chloe said. "Dan, no, you tell her yourself, OK? You hear me? You stay with me. Stay with me. Look at me, breathe." 'I'm so scared," Dan whispered. "Don't be scared," Chloe replied. "Just breathe." "Goodbye, Chloe," Dan whispered. "Goodbye." Chloe said, "No, baby, don't go." She started to sob as EMTs rushed in.

Lucifer and Amenadiel were looking around a place on the list when they heard someone land nearby. They turned to see Carlos standing there. Lucifer stormed over, "There you are. I have been trying to get a hold of you all day. Dan has been kidnapped and we are running out of time…" He noticed unshed tears in Carlos' eyes and Lucifer asked, "Carlos, what's wrong?" Carlos showed him the mirror, that showed Chloe cradling Dan, "It's Dan. He's not doing good. We need to get to the hospital. Now."

Lucifer, Carlos, and Amenadiel flew over to the hospital and ran inside to find Chloe, Ella, Maze, and Linda sitting in the waiting room. Chloe filled Lucifer in on what happened. Carlos tried to run into the operating room, but soon a doctor came out and Chloe and Lucifer walked over. The doctor told them that Dan had died from his wounds. Chloe started to break down sobbing as Lucifer held her. Carlos was shook to his core as he realized what Michael meant. Everyone else had started to cry when they heard, "Where's my dad?" They turned to see Trixie standing there and Chloe walked over to her, "Hi, baby." "Where is he?" Trixie asked. "Where's Dad?" "Come here, honey," Chloe said. "I'm so sorry, baby. Listen to me, babe. Daddy's gone, OK?" Trixie shook her head, "No, no, you're wrong! No, go in there and tell him to get up. Tell him it's time to come home." Trixie saw Maze crying, "No, Maze, it's OK. Don't cry It's gonna be OK. It's not true!" She walked over to Lucifer, "Please tell me it's not true, Lucifer. I know you'll tell me 'cause you never lie. So tell me it's not true." Lucifer replied, "My dear sweet child. I can't." Trixie looked over at Carlos, "Carlos, tell me it isn't true." Carlos started to cry, "I wish I could. I wish I could say that he was found in time. That I found him….." Carlos knelt to the floor and started to sob loudly, "I couldn't help him in time! I couldn't be in two places at once. He was right…." Lucifer knelt to the ground and hugged Carlos as Trixie ran over and hugged Chloe, "I want my daddy!" Chloe cried, "I know, baby. I know."

Amenadiel walked over and knelt next to Lucifer, who was still holding a sobbing Carlos. He asked, "Did they get who did this?" Lucifer shook his head, "Not yet." Amenadiel sighed, "Why, Lucy? Why did this happen?" Lucifer replied, "Foreign mercenaries hunting down stolen objects from dead bodies. A supernaturally strong human, Dan's dying words about somebody named Caleb. And my son blaming himself for not getting here in time. I don't know. None of it makes sense." "Wait," Amenadiel said. "Caleb? I think I know what this is about." Carlos looked up and commanded, "Take us to what started this."

Amenadiel led Lucifer and Carlos to Caleb Mayfield's grave, which was dug up. Amenadiel sighed, "Michael was involved, after all." "I know," Carlos said. Lucifer asked, "How'd you two figure that out?" Amenadiel answered first, "Caleb. Lucy, Caleb Mayfield was the boy who was killed." "The one you tried to help," Carlos remembered. Lucifer nodded, "Yes, I helped you in the aftermath, but what does Caleb have to do with Michael?" Amenadiel answered, "Before Caleb was buried, I laid my necklace on his body." "You did what?" Lucifer asked. Amenadiel sighed, "Somebody obviously came looking for it." "But it wasn't there," Lucifer realized. "The tech in the coroner's office must have stolen it from the body. And Michael hired the mercenaries to find it, and then they tortured and killed him, but he didn't have it either because TJ the fence has it. Which explains his super strength." "It does?" Amenadiel asked. "How?" "Well, think about it," Lucifer explained. "Every piece of the Flaming Sword has a power. Azrael's blade is death, the hilt, to find love, and your necklace is the strength that binds them together, strength that apparently lends itself to whoever's in possession of it." "But my necklace has been in human hands before. It's never granted any of them super strength." Lucifer replied, "Well, the hilt was only activated when Azrael's blade was on Earth. I suppose the same could be true of your necklace."

"Wait," Amenadiel said. "But I thought you threw Azrael's blade into Mom's universe." "I did," Lucifer answered. But before he could continue, Carls interrupted, "But you just sent Gabriel there to send Grandmother a message, and she didn't come back empty handed. She's working for Michael. He has Azrael's blade. Which means he's trying to assemble this Flaming Sword." Lucifer asked, "How do you know this?" Carlos took a calming breath, but he answered in anger, "Because Gabriel just brought Michael to Auradon. That's why I wasn't answering my phone, Dad. Michael sent Gabriel after Dude to keep him quiet and Jane to convince her to have me stand aside from all of this. She refused and Gabriel put her to sleep. I discovered this and tracked Gabriel down and rescued Jane. Meanwhile, Michael went over to the Isle to make a proposition to my mother. But Hades found him and threw him out. I banished Michael and Gabriel from Auradon, with blessing from King Ben and Hades. But Michael said that even though he lost that fight, he still had one victory for today. And it was Dan. He knew that if I was here, I would be able to track down and save him before it was too late. But I was too late. The true plan was to keep me distracted so that I couldn't help. He was right, I can't be in two places at once. I could've stopped him sooner. So then I could get here and save Dan…."

Carlos let out a roar of rage that unleashed his telekinesis and all surrounding trees were blasted to pieces and knocked to the ground. Carlos took some deep breaths then knelt to the ground and muttered, "He played me. I couldn't save Dan in time. It's my fault." Carlos started to sob and Lucifer knelt to the ground, "Carlos, listen to me. None of this is your fault. Don't feel guilt about this. Michael did play you. He knew that you could get ahead of him so he kept you distracted like you said. But you still saved your home from my evil brother. No one is blaming you for not coming in time. You can't control everything. For now, we need to focus on stopping Michael. OK?" Carlos nodded as Lucifer looked up at Amenadiel, "Michael's not trying to win an election." "He's trying to win a war," Amenadiel realized. Carlos's eyes glowed red, "Then we will fight him."

Later that night, Lucifer found himself at Chloe's house. He was thinking about earlier when he escorted Carlos back to Aurradon where Jane, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Ben were waiting and Jane took Carlos into her arms and comforted him. Lucifer explained what happened and all of them, including Ben who is usually happy go lucky, were pissed at Michael. Ben vowed that Michael would pay for what he did to Dan and to playing Carlos like that, while messing with Auradon. Mal then said that if a war was to happen, then Lucifer had Auradon's full support and aid. Hades even appeared and said that he would aid in the battle himself. Lucifer thanked them for the support and said just to look after Carlos for now and he will keep them posted.

Chloe walking out of Trixie's room shook Lucifer from his thoughts. He looked over at Chloe, who said, "She's finally asleep." Lucifer offered her a drink out of the flask he was carrying but Chloe shook her head, "No, I can't. How's Carlos doing?" Lucifer sighed, "OK. He felt guilty at first because he couldn't help track Dan, but I think he's just pissed at Michael for planning this distraction on him. He's back in Auradon with Jane and his friends. They're watching over him now."

Chloe sighed, "It should have been me, going to that house." Lucifer replied, "No, that's what I've been trying to tell you, Detective. This is all part of Michael's plan. This is his fault, not yours." Chloe said, "I just keep playing it over and over in my mind. I just…This was my case, and I let him go alone, and now he's….Please tell me that this is all for something bigger, please, that you're gonna win, that you can fix this. That you're gonna be God." Lucifer sighed, "For that to happen, I'll most likely have to go to war with Michael, it seems, and I don't have the greatest track record when it comes to waging wars in Heaven, and insult to injury, I didn't manage to convince a single swing vote. Zadkiel said no, surprise, surprise. Honesty. The engineer of my demise. The only good thing is that Ben and Mal, Auradon's king and queen, vowed that Auradon will come to my aid if this war happens." Chloe was confused, "What does that mean? The engineer of your demise?" Lucifer sighed, "Well, in a fit of candor, I told him the real truth as to why I was doing all of this, and it went over like a lead balloon." "What's the truth?" Chloe asked. "Why are you doing this? Why do you wanna be God?" Lucifer sighed, "Because if I'm God, then I'll finally be worthy of Carlos, and…..you." Chloe replied, "So you're telling me that Trixxie is in there right now crying herself to sleep and the reseal reason that she's gonna grow up without a father is because you still don't know how I feel about you? Not to mention your son had to be played and couldn't come to Dan's aid because you didn't feel worthy of your son? How is that even possible? If that's the case, Lucifer, then your brothers and sisters are right. You shouldn't be God." Chloe stormed off leaving Lucifer feeling hopeless.

A couple days later, Dan's funeral took place. Chloe wore her police uniform and held Trixie as they watched other officers put the American flag on Dan's coffin. Ella was standing nearby when a male officer walked up to her, "Excuse me, um, Ella? Are you Ella Lopez? Hi, I'm Carol Corbett. As in…" Ella finished, "The guy that Dan was trying to set me up with. Right." Carol chuckled, then said, "Look, I'm sorry to even….You know, I just….Dan was always just looking out for me, you know?" "Yeah," Ella agreed. "Me too. I think he was always looking out for everyone." Carol chuckled, "Yeah, he was." Ella saw Amenadiel standing nearby and Ella said, 'Uh, speaking of which, there's a friend I need to talk to." Carol nodded, "Of course, yeah." Ella started to walk off, then asked, "Hey, save me a seat, will you?" Carol nodded, "For sure. I will."

Ella walked over to Amenadiel, who acknowledged her but didn't say a word. Ella pulled Amenadiel into a side hug, "I know. I can't believe he's gone." Amenadiel said, "Last time I saw him, I said some things that I can never take back." Ella nodded, "I know. He told me." "He did?" Amenadiel asked. "Yeah. I was considering becoming a cop and I don't think Dan thought it was a good idea." Ella replied, "That's where you're wrong, Amenadiel. That's what I came over here to tell you. Day he died, he turned in your application to the Police Academy." Amenadiel started to tear up and hugged Ella, who said, "At least we both know he's in a better place now, right?" Amenadiel replied, "Yeah." But something was bothering him.

He saw Lucifer and Carlos standing nearby and walked over to them. Carlos was wearing a suit that matched his dad's and his spelled hair was slicked back, like his dad's. Amenadiel asked, "How are you, Carlos?" Carlos sighed, "Better. My friends helped me with my grief. Just still pissed at my dick uncle more than anything." Amenadiel chuckled, then said seriously, "Lucifer, there's something I have to tell you. I went to see Dan in Heaven." "Oh," Lucifer replied. "Let me guess. Swimming in a vat of chocolate pudding." Amenadiel revealed, "He's not there, Lucy." Lucifer and Carlos were shocked. "What?" Lucifer asked. "He's not there," Amenadiel repeated. "Dan isn't in Heaven. I just….I went to check and…." "But that would mean," Lucifer replied. "He's in Hell," Carlos finished. Lucifer said, "No. No, Daniel dealt with his guilt. He told me as much." Amenadiel sighed, "Lucy, you and I both know that guilt is much more complicated and deep-seated than we're even aware of." "So people go to Hell if they have the slightest bit of guilt?" Carlos asked. "Does that mean….that's where I will end up?" Lucifer turned to Carlos, "No, that's not true. Yes, you are half-celestial, but you have shown signs of having our invulnerability and you may also have our longevity so you are more durable than a normal human. And I told you, don't feel guilty because of this. This isn't your fault. It's not fair, but none of this is your fault. Understand?" Carlos nodded and Lucifer lead him to sit next to Chloe and Trixie.

Amenadiel went to the podium that was set up and started his eulogy, "When I first arrived in Los Angeles, I was angry. I was angry and confused about my place in the world. I didn't know how to connect with people. But Dan did. And he taught me how to be a good friend. How to be a good father. He taught me how to be a good man. Because he was a good man. The sad thing is I think he forgot that sometimes, but he was a good, good, man. Always trying to do right by others. Always trying to do better. Even though he was already the very best of us. What happened to Dan, it isn't fair. And you have every right to feel angry about it. But you can take comfort in knowing that Dan is in a much better place. Dan, you are, and you always will be my best friend. I'm gonna miss you, buddy. I'm really gonna miss you. We all are. And I promise you that whatever happens, from this day forward, I will always try and do better."

Amenadiel was crying as he walked back and sat next to Linda. Ella, Lucifer, and Carlos stood up as they were going to sing. While walking up, Lucifer saw Maze walk forward. She whispered, "I found them." Lucifer knew that she meant Vincent and his men. He and Ella walked up to the microphone while Carlos stood off to the side as he had his own song to sing. Ella started to sing in Spanish then started to sing in English, then back to Spanish, with Lucifer joining in,

(Ella)

The good times that made us laugh

Outweigh the bad

(Lucifer)

I thought we'd get to see forever

But forever's gone away

It's so hard

To say goodbye

To yesterday

(Ella and Lucifer)

I don't know where this road

Is going to lead

All I know is where we've been

And what we have been through

If we get to see tomorrow

I hope it's worth all the wait

It's so hard to say goodbye

To yesterday

And I'll take with me the memories

To be my sunshine

After the rain

It's so hard

To say goodbye

To yesterday

It's so hard to say goodbye

To yesterday

To yesterday

While they were singing, other officers were folding up the flag and handed it to Trixie. When they finished, they stepped to the side and Carlos started to sing,

I've heard it said

That people come into our lives

For a reason

Bringing something we must learn

And we are lead to those

Who help us most to grow

If we let them

And they help us in return

Well I don't know if I believe that's true

But I know I'm who I am today

Because I knew you

Like a comet pulled from orbit as it passes the sun

Like a stream that meets a boulder halfway through wood

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?

But because I knew you

I have been changed for good

It well may be

That we may never meet again

In this lifetime

So let me say before we part

So much of me is made from what I learned from you

You'll be with me

Like a handprint on my heart

And now whatever way our stories end

I know you have rewritten mine

By being my friend

Like a ship blown from its mooring by a wind off the sea

Like a seed dropped in a distant wood

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?

But because I knew you

Because I knew you

I have been changed

For good

As Carlos finished singing, shots were fired in the air by the other officers. As the funeral ended, Lucifer whispered to Carlos, "I am going with Maze to find the people that did this." Carlos said, "I want to come with you." Lucifer shook his head, "No. I don't want you having blood on your hands." Carlos understood and said, "Alright then."

Lucifer and Maze found Vincent and his men at a warehouse and they wiped out all of Vincent's men. Maze's hands and knives were covered with blood by the time she and Lucifer walked up to Vincent. Lucifer knocked the gun out of his hand and his eyes glowed red. Vincent knelt to the ground in fear. Lucifer whispered something into his ear that made him very afraid.

Later, Lucifer was sitting with Linda in her office. Lucifer said, "We found the people who killed Daniel. We made them pay." "OK," Linda asked. "Was Carlos…." Lucifer shook his head, "No. Just me and Maze." "And how did that make you feel?" Linda asked. Lucifer huffed, "That's irrelevant. My feelings don't matter." "Yes, they do," Linda argued. "You're grieving. It's important to acknowledge that." Lucifer chuckled, "Such astute insight from the doctor, once again. You know, you are very good at what you do. But your job should simply not exist." "You don't think helping people cope with pain is important?" Linda asked. "I don't think pain should exist," Lucifer argued. "I see," Linda replied. "But that's life, Lucifer. Pain is inevitable. The suffering, that's optional." Lucifer shouted, "Do not counsel me on suffering and inevitability! There are no words to convince me that the system isn't broken. Trixie shouldn't have to suffer the pain of seeing her father ripped from her like that, my son shouldn't have to suffer for my brother's manipulation, and Daniel shouldn't be dead. The system is not only broken. It's unjust." Linda sighed, "Lucifer, you can't control all the bad things that happen in this world. Only how they affect you." Lucifer chuckled, "That's where you're wrong. See, there is something I can do. Before, I wanted to be God for the wrong reasons, but now, I no longer want to be God. I have to be God." "Lucifer, what does that mean?" Linda asked. Lucifer replied, "It means that we are going to war."
