Lucifer was sitting at the bar in Lux drinking his sorrows away. He was frustrated at the situation involving Michael. Suddenly he heard someone playing the piano off key. He turned around to find Michael playing the piano. Lucifer stood up and walked to Michael, who said, "You know, I always wondered why a piano. You're supposed to be the edgy one. Wouldn't a guitar be more, uh…." Lucifer slammed the cover of the piano down and pulled Michael to his feet, who said, "Whoa! Hey, hey, hey, hey! Lucifer! I am not here to fight." Lucifer slammed Michael back onto the piano and growled, "Oh, well, I most certainly am!" Michael replied, "Well, then what would happen to all these poor, fragile humans, dear brother?" Lucifer knew Michael was right, and said to the crowd, "It's all right, everyone! Just a little brotherly squabble. It's fine. Music up."
The music started again as Michael said, "And besides, I mean, really, what's the point? I've already won. I've assembled the Flaming Sword, and thanks to it, and my charms, of course, I have got the majority of angels on my side." Lucifer replied, "And yet, here you are. Why?" "To avoid bloodshed, brother," Michael answered. "To keep our siblings safe. To make peace. I am here with an offer." "Like how you made an offer to Carlos' mother?" Lucifer asked. "Yes, he told me all about your little trip to Auradon with Gabriel. So, there is nothing that you could offer me." "What about a throne?" Michael offered. Lucifer realized what he meant, and laughed, "Are you offering me my old job?" Michael nodded, "I take Heaven. You take Hell. It's kind of poetic if you think about it. And, uh, I will let you rule down there however you see fit." Lucifer scoffed, "Oh, gee, thanks, bro. But been there, done that, tried the veal."
Michael said, "Ah-ah-ah! But I haven't told you the best part. Chloe will be down there with you. Possibly also your son. I mean, talk about happily ever after, like Auradon seems to scream out." "What are you talking about?" Lucifer asked. "That's impossible. Even if you become God, you wouldn't have the power to force her soul down there. Same goes for my son, who if you remember, has celestial blood in him so he has our invulnerability and longevity. Only someone's guilt can take them to Hell." "Exactly," Michael replied. "Think about it. For Chloe, the father of her child is dead because of a case he was working for her. As for your son, yes he has celestial blood in him, but if he should actually die sometime in the future, well, he has the guilt of not tracking Dan in time." Lucifer asked, "Did you do all of this? Did you have them take Daniel?" Michael shrugged, "Perhaps. I mean, I did keep your son occupied over in Auradon so that he couldn't come to Dan's aid. I figured Dan would get involved in the case and those thugs kept a lookout for him. Humans are so predictable." Lucifer growled, "So you told them to kill Dan?" Michael replied, "You're welcome."
Lucifer headbutted Michael, who fell onto a couch, "Easy with the temper, brother." Lucifer shouted, "Dan is in Hell because of you!" Michael shrugged, "Well, technically, it's because of his own guilt, which he really should've gotten over by now." Lucifer threw a punch, but Michael caught it, "Forget about the past, brother. Focus on the future. Your future. With Chloe. With Carlos. You need time to think about it. I get it. But if you choose to not take your throne back, well, I'll just have to give it to someone else, maybe force them to. I clearly can't force you, but what about your son?" Lucifer growled, "Keep Carlos out of this. He does not belong in Hell." Michael chuckled, "I just wanted to warn you. But just so you know, the vote is tomorrow. And I am holding it here on Earth so you can attend. You know, because of the whole "you're banished from Heaven and would be instantly incinerated if you returned" thing. Though, that would be fun to see. Brother, I am offering you a chance at a happy ending. I hope you take it. Because if you don't, then I'll force your son to take your place."
"And I hope that you get what's coming to you." Both brothers turned to see Carlos standing there, in his VK splendor. Michael chuckled, "Ah, there's my nephew. Surprised that you are showing off your true self in front of these humans. White hair and all." Carlos scoffed as he pulled out his mother's ring, "Illusion magic, dumb ass. These people sitting around the club think they're seeing something entirely different. Stuff I want them to see, not what's actually happening. Now, uncle, I heard everything that you proposed to my father. I'm not here to answer for him. I'm here to tell you to watch your back. Because I am coming for you, no matter what." Michael laughed, "You? Little half-celestial, you are nowhere near the strength I am now, thanks to the Flaming Sword. If you try to take me down, you won't stand a chance." Carlos chuckled as his eyes glowed red, "That's where you're wrong, uncle. I agree with what you said about the past. Because the past is past. Forgive, forget. Because the truth is, you ain't seen nothing yet. And oh boy, what's coming after you won't be good, trust me. So heed my warning, uncle. If you know what's good for you. And, for the record, you can't force me to go anywhere, even Hell." Michael smirked then disappeared. Carlos walked over to Lucifer and asked, "Dad, are you OK?" Lucifer nodded in response.
Over at Dan's apartment, Amenadiel, Linda, and Maze were packing up Dan's things. Amenadiel found a picture of himself and Dan at a baseball game and said, "Linda." They both chuckled as Maze walked by and took it saying, "See? This is what caring about people gets you. Sitting around like idiots, getting all emotional over inanimate junk! So can we please just stop with the crybaby BS and get this done?" She pulled out an 'Nsync shirt that Dan wore once with her and she pouched a hole into the wall. Linda walked over, "Maze. Maze, honey, it's gonna be OK. What is that?" Maze sobbed, "It's the T-shirt that Dan had to steal from Chloe after I knocked him out and dumped him naked at her house. I still don't know how he fit his stupid ass in this thing. I miss him." Maze started to sob loudly and Linda sat next to her and said, "It's OK. It's true. Sometimes when you care about people, you have to go through pain and loss. But that's the price of joy." Amenadiel sat down with them, "She's right, Mazikeen. In order for none of us to be sad, we would have had to never met Dan. You wouldn't want that. None of us would." Maze replied, "Like when Dan and I pulverized that gang together. It was beautiful. Amenadiel said, "Exactly. And remembering, um, sweet times like those are what helps heal the hurt." Linda added, "Because trust me, never loving anyone is far worse than loss." Linda pulled Maze into a hug and the demon surprisingly reciprocated.
Over at Lucifer's penthouse, Lucifer was sitting on the couch drinking whiskey while Carlos was sitting playing the piano softly. Carlos asked, "So why is Chloe coming over here?" Lucifer sighed, "You'll find out." The elevator doors opened and Chloe walked in. Lucifer stood up, "Thank you for coming, Detective. Um, how's Trixie?" Chloe answered, "Um, she's, you know, she's with my mom and Dan's parents. She's a strong girl. She's just having to be stronger than she ever should right now. How are you doing, Carlos?" Carlos sighed as he stood up, "Better. Jane and my friends have been helping me with things. Helping me see that I shouldn't feel guilty about this."
Chloe nodded, then said, "Lucifer, listen, I know that you asked me to come here, but I wanna get something off my chest first. You know the argument the other night, it just….we were both stressed, and, um, it was emotional and…" Lucifer stopped her, "There's no need, Detective. You were right. You were able to say the thing I couldn't admit to myself. I wanted to be God for the wrong reasons. But now I know why I need to be God. For Dan's sake." "What do you mean?" Chloe asked. "Yeah, I agree with her," Carlos added. "Apparently I missed something." Lucifer said, "Please, sit down. You too, Carlos."
Chloe and Carlos sat on the couch and Lucifer joined them, "So Dan's death…everything that's happened is all Michael's fault. Carlos, I know you know this part already. He's been assembling the Flaming Sword to win this war." Chloe asked, "So that's why they killed Dan, to keep us from finding that out?" Carlos said, "Well, for me, he kept me from coming to LA to help find Dan. And now he wants to force me into taking over Dad's throne if my dad doesn't comply. Bastard." Lucifer sighed, "Chloe, no. Michael killed Dan so that you would feel guilty. So that when you die, you'll go down to Hell. And Carlos, Michael felt that you would feel guilt for not coming to Dan's aid and if you die in the future, you would go to Hell. A twisted bribe to get me to go back like a good little Devil. And I swear that I will protect you from being forced down to Hell." Chloe said, "I don't know what to do with that!" "I do," Carlos said. "Dad, you and my friends helped me see that this isn't my fault. I don't feel guilt for this anymore. Chloe, you should do the same. And I am not giving in that dick. He can't make choices for me." "I agree," Lucifer added. "It's all a manipulation. Carlos is right. Detective, you mustn't feel guilty."
Chloe stood up, "Yeah. Right. OK. I'll just snap my fingers and not feel guilty." Lucifer stood up, "I'm serious, Detective." "I'm serious too," Chloe retorted. "That is not how emotions work, Lucifer. Prove me wrong. Go ahead! Go on. Just feel worthy. Or you know what? No, this is better. This is better." She walked over and picked up an ice picker, "Make yourself vulnerable." Carlos stood up and before he could stop her, she poked him and he didn't bleed. Chloe scoffed, "It's easier said than done, isn't it?" Lucifer sighed, "This isn't the same. We can't let Michael win, and you can't end up like Dan." "What are you talking about?" Chloe asked. "End up like Dan? Dan's in Heaven." She saw the look in Lucifer's eyes and asked, "Where is Dan right now? Where is he?" Lucifer begged, "Don't make me say it. Please." Chloe looked over at Carlos, "Where is he?" Carlos sighed, "Not where you think he is. And Chloe, we're not forcing you to turn off your guilt like that. Heck, I couldn't, I had to do it on my own, through help from my friends. You have to do it your way."
Suddenly they heard whooshing. "Who's there?" Lucifer shouted. They turned to see Remiel standing there but then she dropped the the ground. They ran over to here, Carlos pulled out Mal's potion, and Lucifer felt her pulse, "She's dead. Carlos, I'm sorry, that won't work now. She's gone." Carlos said, "But it worked on me." Lucifer sighed, "I think you were almost dead when Jane saved you. Remy is 100% gone." Lucifer noticed the stab wound on her chest, "Michael must have found out she was our spy and killed her with the Flaming Sword." "Wait, are there actual flames on the sword?" Chloe asked. "Detective," Lucifer replied. "This is hardly the time to start questioning the rules of celestials, but for your sake and Carlos, yes, the sword has flames on it. It makes sense. Don't overthink it." "Dad," Carlos said. "I think she's only asking because, look, there's no burn marks around the wound, so whatever my dick uncle killed her with, it couldn't have been flaming." Lucifer realized, "So he must have just used Azrael's blade. But when I saw Michael, he said he had the sword." "Almost," Carlos said. "When he and Gabriel were in Auradon, he waved the sword at me and my friends. It wasn't in flames. So it was only part of the sword." "So he's bluffing," Lucifer realized. "He hasn't found the piece yet." "We don't know where it is," Chloe pointed out. "Michael has an army of angels to search for him." Lucifer sighed, "Maybe Remiel found out where the piece is." "You think she was coming to tell us?" Chloe asked. Lucifer picked up one of her feathers and said, "I don't know. This dust on her feather could be a clue. Look, I know it's asking a lot, but I need the detective one last time. I need your help." "Of course," Chloe replied. "Maybe I can't control my guilt, but I sure as hell can channel my anger. Let's take that bastard down." Lucifer turned to Carlos, "Son, I'm going to need your help too. Specifically that mirror of yours." Carlos nodded, "Absolutely. Michael can't distract me this time. And I have plenty of anger to use."
Over at LAPD, Ella was in her lab looking over at Dan's desk, which was covered in flowers and other mementos. Ella then said, "Hey, big guy. You took one of the good ones. I'm glad he's with you and everything, but I just miss him. I miss him a lot. And I know you got a lot on your plate, and, I know. I know. Darkness makes the light shine brighter and everything, but it's extra dark right now and I'm having a really hard time seeing. It almost feels like you're not even up there anymore. But I know that's totally impossible. So I would really appreciate it if you could just show me the way. Or at least just, you know, nudge me in the right direction. Or just….OK, what I'm trying to say is just give me some sort of sign, just let me know that I'm where I'm supposed to be, where I need to be." Ella shed some tears.
Suddenly Chloe opened the door and said, "Hey, Ella." Ella quickly dried her tears and said, "Hey." Chloe said, "Thank God you're here. We're gonna need your help. We'll be right back." "OK," Ella said as Chloe quickly left. Ella looked up and said, "Thanks."
Later Chloe came back with Lucifer and Carlos and Lucifer handed Ella Remiel's feather. Ella looked at it under a microscope, "Hmm. Maybe I should run another sample through mass spec." "Why?" Chloe asked. "Because this doesn't make any sense," Ella answered. "The report says that it's yeast." "Well, Remiel did love a hot tub," Lucifer whispered. Carlos shushed his dad as Chloe said, "Yeast, that is weird. You know what? Give me a second." Chloe walked out of the lab as Ella said, "I know you said to just examine what's on the feather, but I can't help but do the math and I think I know what this is about, Lucifer." "You do?" Lucifer asked. "Come on," Ella replied. "Ginormous mystery feather? On the down low investigation? Lucifer, you have to know that you can trust me by now. So tell me the truth. You hit an emu with your car, didn't you?" Lucifer was stunned and Carlos hid a laugh.
Chloe walked back in and said, "I think I got it." Ella said, "I can't believe it. They're six feet tall and indigenous to Australia. He hit an….." "Ella," Carlos interrupted. "Can you give us a minute please?" Ella followed Carlos' command, "Oh, I'll give you guys a second alone." Ella left as Lucifer said, "Yes, thank you, Miss Lopez. And you too, Carlos." When Ella was out of the room, Chloe asked, "OK. remember TJ Ross, the fence who had Amenadiel's necklace?" Lucifer retorted, "The twerp who launched me across the room like an Angry Bird? How can I forget?" Carlos chuckled, "That would have been funny to see." Chloe continued, "When I was working the dead med tech case, I looked into the locations he operated out of, and one of them was an abandoned beer factory." "A yeasty venue indeed," Lucifer commented. "What if Remiel was trying to tell us before Michael got there?" Chloe asked. "And he got to her first?" "Maybe we can still get to TJ before Michael does," Lucifer said. "It's been hours," Chloe replied. "We have to go see," Lucifer said. "We have to try. Plus, we have our spy on our side. Right, Carlos?" Carlos nodded as he pulled out his mirror, "I can use this to see if this TJ is there and if any of my aunts or uncles are there too." "What if your siblings are there waiting for us?" Chloe asked. Lucifer then got an idea, "Carlos, your ring. It has illusion magic. I know you can illusion yourself and your surroundings. Can you illusion me?" Carlos nodded, "Yeah, I think so. I would have to be near you though or you would have to be wearing the ring." "Short distance could work," Lucifer said. "I need a favor, then."
Over at Lux, Eve was sitting at a table with a drink waiting for someone. She then looked up from her phone and saw Maze sitting across from her, "Hi. I'm just waiting for someone." Maze replied, "Yeah, I know. You're waiting for me. I'm Steve." "OK," Eve said. "That explains why he wanted to meet at Lux. And why I liked his wicked sense of humor." Maze smirked, "So you're dating already? Cool." "Seriously?" Eve retorted. "You broke up with me, Maze. Besides, you're Steve. So…" Maze interrupted, "Yeah, but you didn't know that. OK. Whatever. Point is, um, I've been thinking, and I've decided. I don't care if you die." Eve teared up, "That's the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to me." Maze smiled and leaned in to kiss her, but Eve said, "Wait. I've just double-checking here. That means you want to be with me, right?" Maze replied, "Till the years are showing on your face and my strongest days are gone. Yes." They leaned in and kissed each other.
Over at a abandoned beer factory, TJ was getting beaten up by some of the angels, but held strong thanks to Amenadiel's necklace. Suddenly Michael walked in, "Well, well, well, TJ, you're quite the fiesta human, aren't you?" The female angel, Raziel, said, "Finally! Help us, brother. This little cockroach won't let go!" Michael walked over and said, "TJ. If you know what's good for you, you will let go of the necklace." "Over my dead body!" TJ shouted. The male angel, Ibriel, said, "You know, the human makes a good point. Father isn't here anymore, which means the rules about not killing humans vanished with him. If you wipe this one worthless soul out of existence…." "I'll have everything I want," Michael finished.
But then Michael sighed, and said, "Sorry, but I can't do that." But he said it in Lucifer's voice, revealing it was Lucifer. Suddenly his Michael look disappeared and he looked like himself again, "As good as my son's magic is, I never was as adept at subterfuge as my twin." "Lucifer," Raziel said as she and Ibriel let go of TJ. Lucifer smirked, "Let's do this, shall we?" They were about to charge in, when Carlos shouted, "All of you stop!" All three angels stopped as Carlos emerged from the shadows. "Nephew," Ibriel and Raziel said. Carlos stepped forward, "So my aunts and uncles think it's cool to start killing humans now? Then you're just as bad as the villains back home."
Suddenly the real Michael appeared behind TJ and slit his throat. He reached down before Carlos could react and grabbed the necklace, "Well, that was gross, but I guess you need a strong stomach if you're gonna be God." "Is this the God you want?" Lucifer asked. "A god who slaughters the innocent for his own selfish gain?" Ibriel said, "Humans are the selfish ones! They're animals! They don't matter." Carlos then asked, "What about Remiel? Your own sister? Does it matter to you that Michael murdered her?" "That can't be true," Raziel said. "Michael?" Michael shrugged, "I did what I had to do. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the greater good. Heavy is the hand that wears the crown and all that."
He was suddenly shot from behind by Chloe. He turned around, "Well, hello, Chloe. You do know bullets can't hurt me, right?" Chloe smirked, "Wasn't supposed to hurt you. It was supposed to distract you." They heard whooshing noises behind them and Lucifer and Carlos had disappeared. Michael turned back around and Chloe had disappeared as well.
Over at Linda's house, Linda said, "OK. All right. Watch this. Ready?" He held Charlie up to stand, and he did for a few seconds before kneeling down to the ground. Linda chuckled, "Did you see that? He falls all the time, Amenadiel. Twice as much as the other kids in the baby group. OK, so this occupational therapist/mom/influencer that I follow on Instagram who sponsors a blog, says that we…" Amenadiel, who was sitting on the couch, interrupted, "Maybe what we should do, Linda, is just let Charlie figure it out for himself. Yeah?" Linda asked, "You mean, we should just let him hurt himself? I don't think I can do that. How could you do that?" Amenadiel chuckled, "We're not signing him up for cage fighting, Linda. Falling is how humans learn. It's how I learned. Look, I lost my wings, my powers. I fell again and again. You know? And getting back up, well, that was the most empowering experience of my life." Linda smiled, "Yeah. I'll make a chart. Charlie, I'm gonna log every time you fall, and see if there's a pattern. Then I can slide into the mom-fluencer's Das and see if she has any ideas." Amenadiel chuckled, then his phone went off. He answered it, but his smile quickly turned into a frown and he started to tear up. He hung up and Linda asked, "Amenadiel, what happened?"
Later that night, Amenadiel met Lucifer, Chloe, and Carlos out in the middle of the woods as they dug a grave and placed Remiel in it and covered it back up. Amenadiel sighed, "I can't believe Remi is gone. She died like she would have wanted. She died a warrior." "I'm sorry, Uncle Amenadiel," Carlos said. Lucifer growled, "It doesn't matter how she died. She's still dead! Dad and his mysterious ways. If he'd just chosen a successor, we wouldn't be here. Remiel would still be alive, Dan wouldn't be in Hell." Amenadiel replied, "Father didn't give us the answers, Lucy, because he wanted us to find our own way." "Oh, even if it means dying?" Lucifer asked. "Yes!" Amenadiel shouted. "Yes, Lucy. You have to risk falling if you wanna fly. Dad had faith in us. That's why he gave us choice." Lucifer sighed, "Well, he shouldn't have. I had the choice to save everything and everyone I care about, but I didn't. I chose wrong. Michael is going to be God because I didn't have the balls to kill a two-bit fence who wound up dying anyway. And now, who knows how many other people are gonna die because of my cowardice." Chloe argued, "It's not cowardly to save a life. It's not cowardly to fight for a single soul. We owe it to Remiel. We owe it to Dan. We are the ones still standing. We are the ones that have to fight." Lucifer scoffed, "Metaphorically, for you, of course, because our siblings are invulnerable. You'd be powerless against them."
Maze suddenly appeared, "She won't be powerless." She handed Chloe a demon knife, "Here. You can have Stabby." Chloe sighed, "Thank you, Maze. I'm just not sure I know how to use this." Maze shrugged, "It's OK. I figured a way around that." "You're not fighting!" Lucifer argued. Chloe said, "Dan died because of me, Lucifer. I am fighting." Lucifer was about to argue back, but Carlos commanded, "You are going to let her fight, Dad." Lucifer sighed, "Fine. Well, even if we had a dozen demon blades, it's still the four of us against a literal army of angels." Carlos then said, "Dad, don't you remember? Ben and Mal offered aid. There's an army of people from Auradon that will support us. And they, along with myself, have magic on our side. Magic that can affect celestials." Lucifer smirked, "Of course. We need to make a quick trip back to Auradon." Maze then added, "I can add to those numbers with some demons. So, let's kill a bunch of angels." Amenadiel sighed, "No, Mazikeen. Now, if we're gonna do this, there will be no killing. They're our family." "You wanna tie another hand behind our backs?" Maze asked. "Fight a war like a bunch of wussies?" Lucifer then said, "It's not cowardly to save a single life." "Besides," Carlos added. "I think my friends from Auradon won't be killing anyone either." Maze sighed, "Fine. Whatever. At least we'll all die together." Lucifer replied, "Well, off that optimism, Dad gave us the power of choice. What say we make one last spectacularly bad one?" "No," Carlos argued. "A good one. Maze, you go get the demons. The rest of us are going to Auradon to gather an army there. Chloe, Amenadiel, ready to see my world?"
As Maze went off to recruit her demon army, Carlos opened a portal to Auradon and Lucifer, Chloe, and Amenadiel went with him. They arrived on the cliffside overlooking the Isle. Amenadiel saw it, "That's the island you grew up on?" Carlos answered, "Yeah. It's better than what it used to be thanks to the updates the place is getting. But some villains, like my mother, are still locked up on the Isle. Hades is the warden there. He's keeping everyone there in line." Chloe looked around and saw Ben's castle in the distance, "OK, that's a castle. I'm assuming that's where your queen friend is, Carlos?" Carlos nodded, "Yep. That's where we need to head. But let me make a call first." He pulled out his phone, "Jane? Hey, it's me. Send out the signal. It's time for everyone to meet." He hung up and unfurled his angel wings, "Ready for some flying?" Lucifer and Amenadiel unfurled their wings and Lucifer asked Chloe, "Can I carry you?" Chloe nodded and Lucifer picked her up bridal style. All three celestials took to the skies and flew over to Ben's castle.
They landed at the entrance and a guard ran up, "Sir Carlos, the king and queen are waiting in the throne room. The others are also starting to gather." Carlos smiled, "Thank you, Larry." Lucifer asked, "Sir Carlos?" Carlos shrugged, "Recent development. Let's go."
They walked inside and Carlos led them to the throne room, where Ben and Mal were sitting on their thrones. Fairy Godmother was off to one side with Jane and Ben's parents were off on the other side. Evie, Doug, Lonnie and Jay were standing nearby with Dude at their feet. Jane saw Carlos walk in and she ran up to him and Carlos pulled her into his arms and hugged her. Jane whispered, "Welcome back." She pulled away, "We are still waiting on some people, but introductions are in order." Chloe saw Ben and Mal sitting on the thrones and whispered, "Oh, wow. Actual royalty. Do I kneel? Bow?" Lucifer chuckled, "I don't think they'll mind." Ben and Mal stood up and walked over. Amenadiel kneeled and said, "King Ben. Queen Mal. I am Amenadiel, Carlos' uncle and firstborn of God. Thank you for letting us come here." Ben motioned for Amenadiel to stand and said, "It's good to meet you, Amenadiel. Carlos has told us much about you." Chloe tried to bow, but Mal said, "Chloe, it's OK. There's no need. It's good to see you again. I wish it were under different circumstances." Chloe nodded, "Yes, thank you for letting me come here. To this world. Of fairy tales and things." Mal chuckled, "Yeah, it can be a bit of a shock."
Ben turned to Lucifer, "Lucifer, I assume that you are about to go to war with your brother, Michael." Lucifer nodded, "Yes. He has assembled a weapon called the Flaming Sword that can kill anything and anyone. He is holding a vote tomorrow in LA, but I fear that it will turn into a fight. He has many of my brothers and sisters on his side, even though he just killed one of my sisters." "Our condolences," Ben said. "As I told you before, you have Auradon's aid to help you in this fight." Evie stepped forward, "Jay, Doug, Lonnie, and I will come with you back to LA to help. We fought many things in the past so angels shouldn't be any different." Jay twirled two swords around, "I can handle anything." "I'm pretty good with a sword myself," Lonnie added. Doug muttered, "I'm working on it." Amenadiel said, "I don't think those swords will impact any angel." Mal smirked, "Jane and I are going to enchant all of the weapons with magic, since magic can affect celestials." "I wanna come," Dude commented. Carlos replied, "Dude, no. You're staying here." Dude whined.
Suddenly the doors opened and in walked Uma with her pirate crew, which included Celia, Harry, and Gil. Uma said, "You have me and my pirates at your command, Lucifer." Harry added, "We pirates won't stand that bastard messing with one of our own." "True that," Gil said. "And I have my shadows on my side," Celia added as some shadows twirled around her. Chloe observed, "It looks like we have an army on our side."
Blue flames appeared nearby and out stepped Hades out of them. He smirked, "Sorry I'm late. Had some last minute business to do on the Isle." He walked over and noticed Chloe, "Ah. A new face. Allow me to introduce myself. Hades, Lord of the Underworld. At your service." He took her hand and kissed the back of it. Lucifer pushed Hades away, "Back off. She's taken." Mal sighed, "Dad. Enough." Hades chuckled, "Just playing with you, Lucifer. Also, you all have me to help. That bastard got through my defenses on the Isle. He's going to pay." Lucifer looked around and said, "Thank you. All of you. I wish that this war wasn't happening, but I have no choice."
Fairy Godmother walked up with her wand and handed it to Jane, "My daughter. I want you to take this." Jane took the wand and asked, "Are you sure?" Fairy Godmother nodded, "You are my successor. You have shown great strength and compassion that will make you a great fairy someday. Just please be careful" Jane nodded and hugged her mother. Ben turned to his parents, "Mom, Dad, I will leave you two in charge while we are gone. I promise that we will all return safe and sound." Adam replied, "Stay strong, my son." Belle asked, "How are you going to fight, Ben?" Ben smirked, "Mal's got something in mind."
Carlos then had everyone gather around. Suddenly music was heard. Amenadiel and Chloe looked around and Lucifer chuckled, "I think a musical number is about to start. One that you'll actually remember this time. Dad may have been inspired by this world, but this world is better at it." Carlos looked around and started to sing, others joining him later on,
(Carlos)
Now it's time to step up or it's time to back down
And the answer is easy to see
And I swear by the sword if you're in, get on board
Are you ready?
(Jane)
I'm ready
(Auradonians)
We're ready
(Carlos)
Ready as I'll ever be
(Chloe)
Are you quite sure we can do this?
(Lucifer)
Together we will guarantee
I'll make them here me
(Auradonians)
Now it's time to redeem or it's time to resolve
(Lucifer)
Prove they can trust me
(Aurdonians)
And the outcome will hardly come free
(Amenadiel)
I'll save my home and family
(Auradonians)
Now the line's in the sand and our moment's at hand
(Lucifer)
And I'm ready
(Chloe)
I'm ready
(Amenadiel)
I'm ready
(Carlos)
Ready as I'll ever be
Carlos then said, "All right. Dad, they're all yours." Lucifer smirked, "OK, here's the plan."
Back in LA the next morning, Lucifer, Chloe, and Carlos walked into LA Memorial Coliseum, where Michael wanted to meet. Chloe commented, "Huh. So, this is where he wants to hold the vote. It's, uh, quaint." "He's already preparing for a fight," Carlos added. Lucifer said, "For what it's worth, there no one else I'd rather do this with than the two of you." Amenadiel appeared and Lucifer asked, "Where's Maze? I thought you were going to check up on her with her demon reinforcements." Amenadiel sighed, "Well, it's taking a little bit longer than expected." Lucifer turned to Carlos, "Your Auradon friends will arrive soon?" Carlos nodded, "Yes, I will give them a signal and then they will appear. I went over this last night, Dad." Lucifer sighed, "Sorry, just trying to remember everything. Well, we'll just stall for time for the demons." They walked inside the coliseum.
They saw Michael and the other angels standing on the field as they walked onto it. Lucifer commented, "This really is a family affair, isn't it?" Michael chuckled, "You actually showed up. Look at that. You ready to bend the knee, brother?" Before Lucifer could answer, Amenadiel did, "Yes, Michael, we….Listen, we accept you as our new God." "Do you?" Michael asked. "I wanna hear it from him. The one who doesn't lie." "Of course. brother," Lucifer replied. He kneeled down, "You are God…." He then suddenly stood up, "Awful! I mean, what on Earth are you wearing? Is winter coming or something?" Michael chuckled, "Very funny, Lucifer. Very, very funny. Why do you have to fight the inevitable?" "It's the only way I know how to fight," Lucifer replied. Michael looked over at Carlos, "And you are bringing your own son into this?" Carlos smirked, "He sure is, dick." Lucifer chuckled, then demanded, "I demand a vote!" Michael laughed, "Seriously?" Carlos then commanded, "We are having a vote." Michael complied, "Fine! Who here is not voting for me? I said, is anyone here not voting for me?" None of the angels on his side raised their hands while Lucifer, Amenadiel, and Carlos did.
Lucifer sighed as he put his hand down, "Well, that's it. That's your speech, is it?" Michael replied, "I think I've said all I need to." Lucifer scoffed, "Typical Michael. All fear and no substance. Brothers and sisters, I know what you all desire. And I know it's not me as God. But I also know you don't want him either. So you have a difficult decision to make. Everyone knows what Michael's all about. Fear. He's using it now threatening you with the Flaming Sword. But me, I'm gonna try and convince you with the truth. I'm gonna tell you the real reason I want to be God." He looked over at Chloe and Carlos and smiled at them. They smiled back.
But before he could continue, Zadkiel interrupted, "I know why Lucifer wants to the throne. He told me. And it's for love, of all things." Some of the angels started to laugh, including Michael. Lucifer sighed as Carlos gave him a reassuring look. Zadkiel continued, "I never thought I'd hear it. Love. The best reason one could have." He then surprised everyone by walking to Lucifer's side and putting his hand on Lucifer's shoulder, "Lucifer has my support. He is worthy. Who's with me?" Raziel walked over and joined Lucifer's side, Lucifer quietly thanking her. But no other angel did. Lucifer commented, "Oh, I really thought that was gonna be a whole thing. "A" for effort though, Zadkiel." Carlos sighed, "Dad. Not the time."
Michael chuckled, "Well, looks like we have the numbers. Consider the vote complete and me…God!" He shouted that last part to the sky, but nothing happened. He shouted again, "God!" Carlos commanded, "Enough with the shouting." Michael obeyed, but said, "Oh, come on! I thought there'd be a little something, a flash of lightning, maybe, unless, I thought Dad said we were choosing." Gabriel shrugged, "Maybe it has to be unanimous." "Right," Michael chuckled. "Well, if it has to be unanimous, there's only one way to make that happen. Get rid of all the opposing votes." Raziel quickly walked back to Michael's side. "Mom never like you," Amenadiel commented. "Where is Maze?" Lucifer whispered. "Any minute now, Lucy," Amenadiel whispered back. "I'm sure of it."
"Lucifer!" Maze shouted from the sidelines. "Finally," Lucifer commented. Maze walked onto the field with Eve at her side and demons, in the bodies of inmates that recently died. Maze shouted in Lilim, "At my command, brothers and sisters!" "That is so sexy," Eve commented. "Not now," Maze whispered. "Right," Eve whispered back. "Of course." Maze smirked, "But definitely later." Maze, Eve, and the demons lined up behind Lucifer. Michael scoffed, "Very cute. A little demon army. But you still don't stand a chance."
Carlos smirked, "Actually, about that." He then raised his hand to the sky and a portal opened behind him. Out of it walked Mal, Ben, Jane, Evie, Doug, Jay, Lonnie, Uma, Harry, Gil, Celia, Uma's pirates, and Hades, his blue hair aflame. Michael's eyes widened a bit as Carlos said, "You and Gabriel pissed off a lot of people in Auradon. So they offered my dad their aid." Mal walked over to Carlos, "You messed with the wrong VK." Evie walked over, "Because VKs look out for each other." Jay walked over and put out his fist, "Because we're rotten." Carlos, Mal, and Evie held out their fists, "To the core." Jane and Mal then chanted, "Great magic, strong and bright, make us strong in this fight!" Everyone on Lucifer's side glowed for a couple seconds, showing that the magic worked, as the swords the Auradonians carried now had magic embedded in them. Michael chuckled, "Well, well, nephew. You think you and a bunch of children can take me on? With fairy magic? Even your boy king." Ben stepped forward, "This boy king knows more about how to rule than you do. And I'm more than you think." He nodded to Mal and she chanted quietly as Ben was surrounded by a gold mist. Suddenly a roar was heard and out of the mist stepped Ben as a beast, just like his dad used to be. Chloe was shocked, but Carlos explained, "Yeah, his parents are literally Beauty and the Beast, so it's in his blood." Mal then smirked as her eyes glowed, "And I think I can take out your angels in the skies." She then transformed into a dragon and the angels all stepped back in fear. Uma's necklace then glowed and she turned into her giant sea witch form, "And you all are no match for Uma!" Harry, Gil, and the pirates twirled their swords while Celia had some of her shadows dance around her. Hades then shouted, "You mess with one former Lord of the Underworld, you mess with all of them!" Jane then said, "We are far more than just fairy magic."
Michael growled, "Lucifer, you may have more reinforcements, but my army is stronger." Two angels took to the skies as Michael continued, "You might wanna ask your girlfriend to leave, or she's gonna get hurt." Chloe pulled out her gun, "I was just gonna say the same thing to you." Michael laughed, "Chloe, how many times do we have to go through this? Your bullets can't hurt me." She shot both angels and they fell down hard. Chloe smirked, "Turns out melting down one demon blade makes a lot of bullets." Lucifer said, "So you see, dear brother, we're more evenly matched than you anticipated." Michael shouted, "Attack!" All of the angels on Michael's side attacked and everyone on Lucifer's side charged in and the battle began.
Jay threw Carlos a sword as the angels pulled out their weapons and Carlos started fighting them off. Jane threw magical attacks at different angels, mainly Gabriel. Jane said, "That's for throwing sleeping powder in my face!" Dragon Mal took on several angels in the sky and Uma helped out by grabbing some of them with her tentacles. Uma's pirates teamed up with Maze's demons and fought off angels on the ground. Celia used her shadows to draw angels away from attacking. Evie, Doug, Jay, and Lonnie joined Carlos with their own swords to fight off angels. Beast Ben took on some of the larger angels and tossed them around the coliseum. Hades blasted several angels with his ember and Hades shouted, "Now this is a fight!" Maze and Eve fought side by side against many angels. Amenadiel, Zadkiel, and Chloe teamed up to take on the angels.
Lucifer and Michael squared off and Lucifer said, "I know you wanted to avoid bloodshed amongst ourselves. I did too. Maybe we can finish this quickly before anyone gets hurt. Just shed each other's." "Mano a Mano?" Michael asked. "Or ala a ala? Which means wing to wing in Latin…" "Got it," Lucifer interrupted. "Yes, thank you. And precisely. I win, Godhood is mine. You win, you have my full support, I will call of my demons and Carlos' Auradonian friends, and I'll crawl back to Hell like a good little Devil." Michael chuckled as he pulled out Azrael's blade, "When I win, you won't be crawling anywhere. This is to the death. And you will lose Chloe to me, and your son will take your place in Hell." Lucifer was shocked by that, but said, "So be it." Michael pulled out Amenadiel's necklace and put it into the blade, and it became the Flaming Sword. Michael smirked, "I have the Flaming Sword. You don't stand a…."
Lucifer punched Michael to interrupt him and they started their fight. Lucifer dodged most of the sword swings, but Lucifer got cut once by the sword. Zadkiel looked over and noticed, "Lucifer's losing." Amenadiel stopped him, "Zadkiel, he has to do this on his own." Michael then kicked Lucifer to the ground. Carlos noticed this and tried to run over to help him, but Amenadiel stopped him, "Carlos, you can't interfere. Although….Zadkiel, can I borrow your staff for a moment?" He threw the staff at Lucifer, who caught it. Michael chuckled, "Oh, ho! My brother has a stick, whatever shall I do?" Lucifer knocked Michael into the sky with the staff and Lucifer unfurled his wings and followed him. Zadkiel said, "That staff is all that remains of the Tree of Life." "I know," Amenadiel sighed. "And I can't think of a better use for it." "Than for a lost cause?" Zadkiel asked. Chloe shook her head, "No, we have Michael right where we want him."
Lucifer and Michael clashed many times in the sky, until Michael got the upper hand and broke the staff in two and Lucifer went tumbling to the ground. Michael followed and raised the sword above his head, "Goodbye, brother." But Lucifer caught his hand. Michael chuckled, "Oh, ho! You're never gonna take this sword from me, brother." Lucifer laughed, "Dear brother, that was never part of the plan." "Plan?" Michael asked. "Now!" Lucifer shouted. "Michael, stop attacking my father!" Carlos shouted. Michael froze and Chloe ran up and pulled out Amenadiel's necklace. Chloe ran away, "Get the blade, Carlos!" Michael chased after her as Carlos raised his hand and used his telekinesis to call the blade to him. Carlos then ran up to Lucifer and asked, "Dad, are you OK?" Lucifer nodded as he stood up. Carlos handed the blade to Lucifer.
Suddenly they heard wings flapping and Lucifer turned to see Azrael standing there. "Azrael," Lucifer walked over to her and greeted. "With the Angel of Death at our side, I can't lose." Azrael sighed, "I'm sorry, Lu." Lucifer then realized, "No…" Chloe then ran up Carlos and shouted, "I got it!" Suddenly Michael appeared and stabbed Chloe with the broken end of Zadkiel's staff. "Chloe!" Carlos tried to swing at Michael with his sword, but Michael outmaneuvered him and got behind him and used the staff to hold Carlos by the neck so he couldn't talk and to suffocate him, Carlos dropping his sword. Lucifer ran over, dropped the blade, and kneeled next to Chloe, "No! This is all my fault. I'm so sorry." Chloe sobbed, "It's not your fault." Carlos strained against Michael, but Michael held on tight. Everything on the battle field stopped as soon as they saw Chloe get stabbed and Carlos being held by Michael. Michael reached into Carlos' jacket and pulled out Mal's potion. He chuckled, "Looks like you lost, Lucifer. And I discovered this little potion my nephew has been carrying. So you have a choice, you can either sacrifice your son to take your place in Hell and I will give you this to heal Chloe, or you give me the blade and I'll let Carlos go, but Chloe will die. Your choice." Carlos' friends, especially Jane, saw this and tried to reach him, but Michael said, "Any of you try to get in the way, Carlos will get a one way ticket to Hell. I will escort him there personally. I have the wings to do it."
But Michael didn't see Hades sneaking behind him and Hades used his ember to blast him in the head. Michael let go of Carlos and dropped to the ground. Carlos coughed, trying to get his breath back. Hades glared down at Michael, "That's for breaking into my Isle."
Chloe looked up at Lucifer and said, "Lucifer, we make our own choices. I chose to be here. And Dan, what happened to Dan is not my fault. And this is not your fault. It's not your fault. I love you." Carlos picked up Mal's potion that Michael dropped and he and Hades tried to run over to help Chloe, but it was too late. Chloe died in Lucifer's arms and Lucifer sobbed loudly. Carlos tried to open the potion, but Hades said, "Carlos, it's too late. Her soul is gone. I felt it." Carlos started to sob as Jane flew over to Carlos and Carlos sobbed into her arms. Michael struggled to stand, "I told you she should leave. And good news, it sounds like she made peace with her guilt. I bet she made it to Heaven. I guess that means you'll never see her again. I mean, you really should have taken my offer. You could of had both her and your son." Lucifer shook his head, "This isn't right. It's not her time." Lucifer struggled to stand as Michael asked, "What are you babbling about?" "I'm gonna get her back!" Lucifer shouted. Carlos turned to Lucifer and asked, "You can do that?" Lucifer nodded, "I can and I will. Come with me. I'll need your help. Hades, you're good with souls. I need you here to make sure that her soul returns to its rightful place when she comes back." Jane helped Carlos to stand as Hades said, "Lucifer, you know what this means." Lucifer nodded as he took Carlos' hand and they both unfurled their wings and they took off to the sky. Michael chuckled, "He's so stupid. He'll die if he tries to get into Heaven thanks to his banishment." "What?" Jane asked. Hades nodded, "I believe he knows. But I don't think Carlos does. Lucifer is sacrificing himself to save Chloe."
Down on the battle field, Maze was heartbroken by Chloe's death. She shouted in Lilim, "Fight!" The battle started again and Ben shouted in his Beast voice, "Auradon! Fight!" All of the Auradonians started to fight again and Dragon Mal blasted several angels in retaliation of Chloe's death. Hades tried to fight Michael, but several angels protected him and Hades fought them off. Jane blasted several with the wand as tears shed down her face. Amenadiel turned to Zadkiel, "Let's go."
Up in Heaven, Chloe was sitting next to her dad, John, eating a picnic. She took a bite and said, "Just as good as I remember it." John agreed, "Egg sandwiches. A Decker family tradition." "So good," Chloe said. "Dad, this is so nice." "Yeah, monkey," John replied. "It sure…." They then heard a loud noise and looked up and saw a bright light shining through the sky, passing by them. "Is that normal?" Chloe asked. Join shook his head, "Not as far as I know. I'm sure it's fine. It's Heaven."
The light crashed into the ground, causing a crater. Lucifer crawled out of it while Carlos walked out. Carlos was concerned for his dad as Lucifer rolled out of the crater and landed nearby. "Dad?" Carlos asked. "Are you OK?" Lucifer sighed and panted, "For now. It's been a while since I've been here."
They heard a voice behind them say, "Man, you don't look so good." Lucifer looked up and saw Lee, "Mr. Said Out Bitch? That's impossible." "Says the dude that just fell out of the sky," Lee replied. Carlos was confused, "I'm sorry. Dad, who is this? Because I don't think Mr. Said Out Bitch is his actual name." Lee turned to Carlos, "Ah, you're Carlos. Nice to finally meet you in the flesh. And not through some weird trippy Hell vision. Name's Lee. I know your dad, somewhat. He came into my Hell loop and we helped Chloe solve my case, I guess. He talked about you a lot."
"Why am I not burning to a crisp?" Lucifer asked. "I should be ashes by now." Carlos turned back to Lucifer, "Excuse me, what do you mean by that?" "My banishment," Lucifer explained. "I was banished from Heaven by Dad, and if I were to return, I would burn to ashes." "And you didn't think to tell me this before you dragged me here?" Carlos shouted. Lucifer noticed Lilith's ring on his hand, "I'll be damned. The ring. Lilith's immortality has protected me. Though not for long, it seems." Carlos helped Lucifer to stand, "Then we need to find Chloe and get back to Earth before then." Lee sighed, "OK, I don't know what the fork any of that means, but you look like you could use a hand."
Lee took the other side of Lucifer as Lucifer said, "The last time I saw you, you were in Hell. Did I fly Carlos and myself in the wrong bloody direction?" Lee replied, "Nope, you're in the right place. This is Heaven. Or at least, one of its many rooms. I'm still trying to get the lay of the land. I hear they have a room made entirely out of cotton candy." Carlos asked, "Heaven has rooms?" Lucifer shook his head, "No, no, no, that's impossible. No soul has ever made it up here from there." Lee replied, "I don't know about that, but I know I took your advice. I faced my family. My guilt." Lucifer realized, "You went through the door." Lee nodded, "Yep, finally. And boom, Heaven!" Lee chuckled as Carlos said, "Good for you. And you too, Dad, for doing something good for someone else." Lucifer then remembered, "The Detective!" "Right," Carlos added. "We need to find her." Lee reassured, "Hey, don't worry, you two, she's here. Come on. You helped me. Let me help you." Lee guided Lucifer and Carlos away.
Meanwhile, Chloe and John were enjoying their picnic and Chloe was laughing, "Wait, come on, Dad! Come on. Tell me!" John replied, "I'm serious. Your mother's face was completely purple. She forgot she had the Althea makeup on. And no one in the PTA was brave enough to tell her…." "Detective!" Lucifer shouted with Lee and Carlos next to him. "Thank you, Lee." Lee nodded as Carlos helped Lucifer over to Chloe, who ran over, "Lucifer. What are you doing here? With Carlos?" "We've come to get you," Lucifer answered. "It's not your time. You need to come back." Chloe remembered, "Oh, that's right. The war and…I left Trixie…and my friends and….I left you." "That's right," Carlos replied. Chloe sighed, "But, my dad's here, and I can't lose him again." John said, "It's OK. I'm not going anywhere. But it sounds like some people could use your help, Detective Decker." "Thanks, Dad," Chloe whispered.
Lucifer fell out of Carlos' grasp to the ground and Carlos shouted, "Dad!" Chloe asked, "Wait! How do we get back?" Carlos answered "Once we leave here, we can help guide your soul back and Hades will use his ember to make sure your soul returns safely." Lucifer looked at the ring, "That's not entirely true, Carlos. I'm not sure we can. I'm afraid there's not enough power for you and me, Chloe. I know you can go back just fine on your own, Carlos." Chloe said, "No, I'm not going without you." "Dad, what are you talking about?" Carlos asked. Lucifer answered, "You two have to. The world still needs you, Chloe Decker. And you, Carlos, still have a life to live. A super long one thanks to your celestial side." Lucifer started to take off the ring as Chloe shouted, "No, you don't have to do that!" "I know," Lucifer whispered. "I know I don't have to. I choose to." "What?" Chloe asked. Lucifer answered, "I choose you, Chloe. And I choose you, Carlos, to live on, with your friends and your true love." "Dad," Carlos started to cry. "Why did you bring me here if you're not coming with us?" Lucifer sighed, "Because I need you to guide Chloe back to Earth. Hades will help once you're there. And to say goodbye." Carlos kneeled and cried, "Dad, no, please." Lucifer pulled off his ring and put it on Chloe, "I choose you, Chloe, because I love you." He turned to Carlos as his skin went aflame, "And I love you, my son. Please, keep her safe. Goodbye." Lucifer's body lit up in flames and he was soon ash in front of them. Chloe shouted Lucifer's name as Carlos cried, picking up Chloe and unfurled his wings and took her soul back down to Earth.
Hades heard whooshing sounds behind him and saw Carlos carrying Chloe's soul. Hades used his ember to help Chloe's soul return to her body. Chloe opened her eyes and took some deep breaths. She looked around, seeing the fighting that started up again, Dragon Mal in the sky taking on airborne angels, Beast Ben slashing through angels, Jane shooting magic spells everywhere, Uma swinging her tentacles around protecting her pirates, Evie, Jay, Doug, Lonnie, Harry, Gil, and others taking on angels one on one, Celia throwing people around using her shadows, Maze, Eve, and the demons fighting off angels, and Amenadiel using his wings to keep his bothers and sisters down. Chloe noticed Lucifer's ring was now on her finger, but completely white as the immortality was all used up. Hades looked down at her, "Welcome back." She looked over at Carlos, who had a somber look on his face, like he was trying to hid his emotions.
They heard Michael huff, "No way. He did it. He actually brought you back. Just so I could kill you again. And send his brat down to Hell to take his place." Michael had gotten a hold of Azrael's blade and Chloe struggled to stand as Carlos stayed on the ground, panting quietly and looking down. Hades tried to get in between Chloe and Michael, but Michael grabbed Hades and threw him sideways. Jane saw this and ran over to Carlos and whispered, "Carlos. Carlos. Talk to me." Michael held up the blade, "Goodbye, Detective." Jane looked up and readied the wand.
But Chloe actually still held Amenadiel's necklace in her hand and used that hand to punch Michael into a nearby wall. Jane was startled by this. But Carlos seemed unfazed. Chloe ran over and picked Michael up, just to throw him into the ground. She then punched him several times in the face, eventually the blade fell out of his hand. Chloe kept punching him, "You took the man I love from me!" Michael looked up at her, "Do it. Kill me. If you have it in you." Chloe then reached for the blade.
But suddenly the blade went flying through the air and landed in Carlos' outstretched hand. Chloe and Michael looked over and saw Carlos raise his head to reveal dark red glowing eyes. "Carlos?" Jane asked. Carlos stood up slowly as Jane backed away slightly. Carlos glared down at Michael and shouted, "You monster!" Suddenly the entire coliseum started to rumble due to Carlos' powers. Everyone who was fighting stopped as they heard Carlos' shout. Carlos walked over to Michael and used his telekinesis to lift Chloe off of Michael and put her down nearby. "Carlos," Chloe whispered. Carlos lifted his hand towards Michael and Michael's body was lifted off of the ground, but hovered slightly in the air. Michael tried to free himself, but couldn't. He was slowly floating down to Carlos, who said, "You have messed with my life for the last time. You tried to take my dad's place. You gave my baby cousin a virus to mess with my uncle. You stole this blade from my grandmother. You went into my world and messed with my dog, my friends, my true love. You tried to convince my mother to join you, to help you get rid of me. You killed the woman my father loves. You are the reason my father is dead. And now you want to kill Chloe again and force me to take up my father's throne. You don't deserve my grandfather's throne. In fact, you don't deserve to live." He then held up his hand and started to squeeze it, causing Michael to rasp for breath and he could feel his bones and muscles start to crunch. He tried to cry out in pain, but his lungs couldn't work properly. Carlos held up the blade and asked, "So how should it happen? Should I torture you slowly? Or use this and end your life quickly?"
Jane ran up, "Carlos, please stop. This isn't you." "Stay out of this, Jane!" Carlos commanded. Jane's body stopped as Chloe watched Carlos, unsure of what to do. She wanted Michael to pay as well, but she also felt that they was wrong. She pulled out her gun and pointed it at Michael, tempted to shoot him with the demon bullets. Then pieces of Carlos' face started to burn off and his face was slowly turning into one like Lucifer's Devil face. Michael struggled to laugh as he saw Chloe stand and walk over, "So, you really are your father's son. Killing me will make you just like him. Which will make you the perfect choice to take his place in Hell. And you, Chloe, will have my death on your conscious." Carlos cried as his face continued to change and Chloe walked up next to Carlos and they both said, "So be it."
He raised the blade in the air, but he couldn't bring himself to give the finishing blow. His face was nearly completely changed. Chloe tried to pull the trigger, but couldn't. Suddenly he heard Lucifer shout, "Chloe! Carlos!" There was a blinding light behind Carlos and Chloe and everyone on the battle field looked up in awe. Mal, Uma, and Ben returned to their normal selves. Chloe turned to see Lucifer standing there with his wings unfurled. Lucifer first spoke to Chloe, "This isn't you, Chloe. You aren't a killer." He held out his hand and Chloe handed him her gun and she handed him Amenadiel's necklace. Lucifer then said to Carlos, "My son, please don't make this choice. Don't go down the dark path I once did. Don't lose yourself to it. When you have people here that love you." Carlos looked back at Lucifer, then over at Jane, who was crying. He looked out at his friends from Auradon, then over to Hades, who had a somber look in his eyes and he said, "Don't become a villain like I did. Like your mother did." Carlos' eyes returned to normal and his face slowly returned to normal, while he let go of Michael, who fell to the ground and gasped for breath. Tears started to leak down his face and Lucifer held out his hand. Carlos handed him the blade and Lucifer pulled Carlos into a hug, Carlos' tears coming out full storm. "Dad," Carlos whispered. "I'm sorry. I couldn't…." Lucifer held onto him tightly, "It's OK, my son. Your grief and anger were trying to control you. But you just proved that you are stronger than that. You couldn't give the final blow because that is not who you are. You are a good man, and I love you very much." He pulled away and nodded to Jane, who ran over and pulled Carlos into her arms. Carlos mumbled, "I'm so sorry, Jane. Maybe I am a monster like my mother." Jane pulled away, "No, you're not. We all have a darkness that tempts us. Remember Ben's coronation? That was me at my lowest and I overcame it. And you just showed that you will too. I love you so much." She gave Carlos a gentle kiss and Carlos dried his tears as Chloe came over and hugged Carlos.
Lucifer turned to Michael and commanded, "Bend the knee, brother. To the death, right?" Michael knelt down as everyone on the field walked up, except for the demons, they went back to Hell and the bodies they used fell to the ground. All of the Auradonians surrounded Carlos and Mal, Evie, and Jay pulled Carlos into a hug. "We are all proud of you," Mal whispered. "You did what I did, showed that we are not our parents. We are something better. But you are also strong. You led us well in this fight." Ben put his hand on Carlos' shoulder, "You are a good man, Carlos. Don't forget that." Carlos nodded, "Thank you. All of you." Evie smirked, "It was worth it." "But remember," Jay said. "That we're still rotten." "To the core," Carlos finished, chuckling to himself. Uma came up and playfully hit Carlos on his shoulder.
They all turned back to Lucifer as he put the necklace into the blade, making it the Flaming Sword again. Michael unfurled his wings and waited. Lucifer raised the sword as Amenadiel, Maze, and Eve stood next to Chloe. Lucifer brought the sword down on Michael's wings, slicing them off. Michael screamed in pain. Lucifer said, "No more killing. In my time here on Earth, I've learned everyone deserves a second chance. Even me. Even you, Michael." Lucifer looked over at Amenadiel, who nodded to him. "Lucifer, how?" Chloe asked. Lucifer answered honestly, "I don't know. I…." He looked over and saw Amenadiel kneeling. All of the other angels followed, even Michael, who backed up and knelt to Lucifer. Maze and Eve knelt to Lucifer. All of the Auradonians knelt to Lucifer's surprise, even Ben, Mal, and Hades. Chloe and Carlos stared at Lucifer in awe as Lucifer raised the Flaming Sword and muttered, "Oh, my….me!"
