Amenadiel was telling Lucifer why the world is ending, "Our siblings are answering prayers, and they're making a mess of it. That's what's causing the end of the world." Lucifer asked, "Well, how do prayers explain Ella's frog?" Amenadiel answered, "A young girl prayed for one, but Lezmegadiel didn't realize humans get them at pet stores. That, plus his terrible aim." "And the red river?' Lucifer asked. "The missing socks?" "All caused by our siblings' screwups," Amenadiel answered. Lucifer laughed, "Unbelievable. Right, well, I should wake Chloe, tell her the world isn't actually ending." Amenadiel stopped him, "No, Lucy. Look, you heard Ella. Now if this continues to happen, it's gonna have a catastrophic domino effect. Apocalypse by a thousand paper cuts."

"Just tell our siblings to stop," Lucifer said. Amenadiel sighed, "I tried. They don't take orders from me. I believe their exact words were, "You're not the God of us."" Lucifer replied, "Well, points for snark, but now's not the time, really." Amenadiel said, "I know I sound like a broken record, but we need you on that throne. Now have you got your wing situation figured out yet?" Lucifer nodded, "I have, yes. But there has been, well, a development of sorts in that department. Well, after a night of sort of roundabout therapy, I've realized that being God is, it's just not my calling." Amenadiel was confused, "Excuse me. What? What do you mean, "just not your calling?" What about the war we fought? The siblings we lost? The people from Auradon who came to help in that war? All those years wasted, getting ready?" Lucifer stopped him, "Brother, trust me, this was a big decision. But deep down, I know it's the right one."

Amenadiel scoffed, "I should have seen this coming." Lucifer sighed, "Amenadiel, please, relax. The good news is, it sounds like this domino effect is a long term problem, so we have time to figure things out. Now, if you don't mind, it has been the longest day ever, so…." Amenadiel interrupted, "Lucy, we need to fix this immediately. We don't know what's gonna happen next! Do I have to drag my nephew out of bed and have him persuade you to take the throne." Lucifer replied, "I'm sure everything will be fine. Besides, Carlos isn't here. He's going to spend the day in Auradon. He'll be back in a day or two."

In a jail cell, Vincent Le Mec, the man who killed Dan, was sitting in his jail cell, feeling terrified. Dan was in the cell with him, "Vincent Le Mac. After what Maze said, it felt like you were the key to my guilt. But that doesn't make any sense. You killed me. Why would any of that make me feel guilty? Maybe it's because I couldn't catch you? I couldn't prevent you from hurting other people. But you're in here. Life in prison, uncle to hurt anyone ever again. And now that I know that, why isn't my guilt gone? Why am I still here?"

The cell door opened and a guard came in, "Time to hit the yard, French Fry." Suddenly the alarms went off and a lion's roar could be heard, as another prisoner prayed for a way to stop his execution from happening, and one of Lucifer's siblings answered that prayer with a lion. The guard ran out, but didn't close the door all the way. Dan noticed this, "No! Guards! Come back! Oh, come on! Stop! Come back, the door didn't close! He's gonna escape! Come on!" Vincent noticed the open door and stood up and walked out. Dan tried to stop him, but being a ghost, he couldn't.

Over in Auradon, Carlos was getting things prepared for his proposal to Jane. He had gone to his room at Evie's to gather everything and Dude was sitting on his bed, "So you have your plan all figured out?" Carlos nodded, "Yep. Going to take her for a picnic at our favorite spot on the cliffside, and I'm going to propose to her there." Dude nodded, "Good. Just don't mess up." Carlos chuckled, "Right." There was a knock on his door and Evie came in, "Hey, Carlos. Just wanted to wish you luck today. And I made this for you." She held up a new outfit for Carlos, "If you're going to propose to Jane, you need to look good while doing it." Carlos chuckled, "I guess I do. Thanks, Evie."

Over in LA, Lucifer had gotten up for the morning in a cheerful mood. He got his robe on, crossed off some things on his to do list, and went over and made a morning drink for Chloe. Once done, he walked back to the bedroom to give it to her, but saw that Chloe was up and dressed, as the sound of the blender he used to make the drink woke her up. Lucifer smiled, "Oh, good morning!" Chloe asked, "Why are you so happy?" Lucifer answered, "Well, I'm not going to be God, and the world's not ending. Plus, Carlos has decided to go back to Auradon for the day to propose to Jane. So a happy day all around." He noticed the sad look on Chloe's face, "What's wrong?" Chloe answered, "Today's the day." "What day?" Lucifer asked. "August 4th," Chloe answered. "The day that Rory says you disappear. And apparently also when Carlos is last seen as he was never in Rory's life when you were gone."

That soured Lucifer's mood quickly, "Why didn't you remind me? You know I'm terrible with dates." Chloe sighed, "I think I've been putting off facing this because…." "We still have time," Lucifer finished. "We can't be certain that I disappear. My future is not set in stone. No one's is." Chloe replied, "Well, we did rule out your murder." "But only with Azrael's blade," Lucifer corrected. "I mean, there are other celestial weapons out there that can still hurt me. There's Maze's blade, there's Rory's wings. Anyway, we don't know anything! Like Carlos said, my future is not set in stone." Chloe said, "Well, we don't know why you disappeared according to Rory. But we do know where you disappeared. 10th and Swanson. So just don't go there today. And your future will change. Just make a choice. Just choose. Choose not to leave. It's free will. Then maybe if you don't leave, Carlos won't. Because maybe he leaves because he can't be around LA without being reminded of you. Or maybe…." "Don't," Lucifer stopped her. "Don't say it. Carlos will not die like I could. I can't bear that. But you are right about the other thing. I won't go near 10th and Swanson. And then everything will be fine. My future isn't what Rory has said."

"So it's decided," Chloe said. "There's no reason to panic because today is not your last day. In fact, why don't we make plans for tomorrow? How about a beach day?" Lucifer smiled, "That sounds lovely." Chloe said, "OK, great. So I'll take Trixie to camp and then I have to stop by the precinct to sign the reinstatement forms. So, I will see you in a few hours. And then tomorrow. And the day after that." Lucifer chuckled, "Wonderful. I'll be here, not worrying about the future." Chloe left and Lucifer said to himself, "I write my own destiny. I write my own destiny."

Hours later, he had a construction crew come in and they along with himself were building a large steel door while the crew was working on a room. Rory came into the penthouse and saw what was going on, "Uh, what's all this?" Lucifer turned to her, "Oh, hello. Well, I know you said that today is the day that I disappear, but your mom and I have decided not to panic, so I'm building a panic room. You may laugh, but once it's finished, I will go inside and engage the time lock system so no one will be able to get in or out until the day is safely behind us. Meaning it will be impossible for me to abandon you. It's genius, isn't it? Like Carlos said, I write my own destiny."

Rory replied, "Yeah, I appreciate that you don't wanna abandon us, but there's nothing you can do to prevent it. I mean, the fact that I'm still here means that I still time traveled, which means I'm still mad at you in the future, which means you still disappear. It's a time loop, inevitable and unbreakable." Lucifer scoffed, "You say time loop, I say opportunity for a surprisingly lucrative tax break. Time loops are breakable, because the future isn't set in stone. Just because you came from the future doesn't mean that is what the future is going to be. You are from one possible future. Carlos helped me see that. Now, if you don't mind…" "Lame," Rory replied. "Lame?" Lucifer scoffed. "I'm literally wielding flames!" Rory asked, "Aren't you supposed to be the king of debauchery or fun or whatever? Spending your last day in a box is the lamest thing I've heard since LA County banned hoverboards."

Lucifer scoffed, "Like I said, I don't buy this time loop theory of yours, but I suppose my men can finish the job for me. You're right. Let the debauchery begin. I'll see you later." Rory asked, "Actually, is Carlos here?" Lucifer shook his head, "No, he went back to Auradon for the day. Personal reasons. But maybe you could join me, huh? Remind your old man how to have fun, just in case I've forgotten." Rory smiled, "Sure."

So they hit the town. They went to a bakery and bought one of everything, they sumo wrestled in the park, went to a jewelry store and bought one of everything, had a water balloon fight in the park, and did some karaoke. They ended up back at the penthouse and Lucifer said, "Right! Get ready for the best TV show you have ever seen. Bones." "The original?" Rory asked. "Yeah, right. The spin off from my time kicks your Bones' ass." "Impossible," Lucifer replied. "But tell me everything." Rory explained, "Well, More Bones is the perfect combination of procedure and banter. It's about Booth and Bones' cyborg daughter Borgie, who also works for the FBI, and her totally hot partner, Agent Andro, who's like this android who doesn't even have bones!" Lucifer listened to her and a million thoughts started to fly through his head. Rory stopped and said, "Oh! Going to the bathroom." She stood up and went to the bathroom while Lucifer sat and ate one of the sweets they got.

Chloe walked in saying, "I brought all the each stuff so we'd be all ready to go first thing tomorrow. What's all this?" Lucifer stood up, "Well, Rory and I have had the best time. Water balloons, karaoke, sumo wrestling, I mean, I can't imagine a better day. Don't worry, we didn't go anywhere near 10th and Swanson. Also, I've commissioned my very own panic room in case I need to lock myself in." "So if you think this isn't your last day, why did you do all of this? Why can't you see that you can just choose to stay?" Chloe asked. Lucifer sighed, "It's all just speculation at the moment, isn't it? None of this feels quite real. Because I know that my future isn't set in stone, I am just preparing to make sure Rory's future doesn't happen." Chloe sighed, "Yeah, I felt the same way. Until I saw this." She pulled out a pregnancy test, "I'm pregnant." Lucifer was speechless, "It's really happening. She's inside you right now."

"I'm also outside her right now." They turned to see Rory walking down the steps. "What's going on out here?" Chloe said, "Well, we are just talking realizing that he can choose to stay because we really don't wanna do this without you, Lucifer. OK?" "But we can, Mom," Rory said. "And we do." Chloe sighed, "Rory, I know you don't want him to leave, so why are you acting like you're OK with all of this?" Rory answered, "Well, because what I want doesn't matter. This happens." Chloe sighed, "OK, you time traveled once. You don't know exactly how it works. You coming back has to have changed things." "Or not," Rory countered. "Because that pregnancy test proves that the loop is already in motion." "What loop?" Chloe asked. Lucifer explained, "She thinks the fact that she's still here means that we're stuck in a time loop, inevitable and unbreakable. But that's her belief, not mine. She can still exist, but I believe her future is one potential future. I mean, Carlos is missing from her future too. And I can't accept that." "Right," Chloe said. "Because maybe you haven't reached the point in time where you decide to change things. Maybe then she'll disappear. But until then, you still have a choice. Like you said." Rory argued, "Mom, I used to think he chose to leave us too, but now I think maybe it's not up to him. Or whatever it is, whatever takes him away from us, it must be something too powerful to stop. I mean, it's powerful enough to take away my brother too." Lucifer sighed, "Time travel does complicate things. It's hard to think what's true. But who knows who's right." Chloe replied, "Then that's the problem, isn't it, Lucifer? How can you choose to stay if you don't fully believe that you have a choice. That you write your own destiny? Fate automatically wins! So let me know when you choose us. And see if you truly follow your son's words." Chloe walked away and Rory muttered, "Fate's a bitch."

Carlos was sitting near Evie's garden at her house. He still had some time before he was supposed to go pick Jane up. He was fidgeting as he was nervous about the proposal. He then heard, "Someone's nervous, I see." Carlos turned to see Ben standing there. Carlos stood up, "Ben. What are you doing here?" Ben chuckled, "I'm just dropping some stuff off for Evie to look over. And I heard what you were planning to do today with Jane." Carlos sighed, "Yeah." Ben walked over, "It's OK to be nervous. I was when I was going to propose to Mal." "Really?" Carlos asked. Ben nodded, "Yeah, I was. I felt a doubt that Mal might say no, but then I remembered that Mal loved me. And I held onto that thought and the nerves went away. That's my advice to you." Carlos smiled, "Thanks, Ben."

Over in LA at Linda's house, Lucifer and Rory were there with Linda and Rory was watching Charlie on the baby monitor, "Oh, my God. Charlie is so tiny. Can I go see him?" Linda nodded, "Of course. He should be awake from his nap any minute." Rory put the baby monitor down, "I am so gonna tease him about that thumb sucking later." Rory walked to Charlie's room as Lucifer said, "Cousins. Apparently they have some sort of playful rivalry in the future. At least Carlos doesn't have that with Charlie. So, what's all this? What are you doing?" Linda explained as she was folding clothes, "Ah, I'm packing away the clothes Charlie's grown out of. Time, it moves so fast. Lucifer, something on your mind?" Lucifer sighed, "Doctor, do you believe in free will or fate?" Linda answered, "Well, I definitely believe we make our own decisions. Therapy kind of relies on it." "So Team Free Will?" Lucifer asked. Linda nodded, "Yes, but that being said, I've never met someone from the future before. I mean, it kind of makes you think. If Rory knows what we do before we do it, is it set in stone? If so, are we really choosing to do it? Are we really choosing anything?"

Lucifer scoffed and picked up some of the clothes, "Would you just give me those? No one likes fold marks down the front." Linda realized, "This is about abandoning Rory." Lucifer nodded, "Yes. And you haven't added at all to my rapidly growing anxiety. Not to mention my son's possible disappearance as well, as Rory didn't know about him in the future. I know that he keeps telling me that we write our own destiny, but know I'm starting to doubt it." Linda sighed, "Lucifer, I know how much it hurts leaving a child. Why is this coming up now? Did something happen?" Lucifer explained, "Chloe and Rory were arguing. Chloe, like Carlos, thinks that I can change my fate. Rory says that I cannot. I don't want to believe Rory, but, when we first met, I dismissed my daughter, like I kind of dismissed my son at first when I found out. And, well, I'm trying not to do that again." Linda replied, "I'm sure she appreciates that." Lucifer sighed, "I hope so. It's still torture not knowing exactly how I leave her though. Whether it's fate or just a possible future." Linda said, "Lucifer, none of us know exactly how it's going to end. That's what makes the present so important." Lucifer asked, "Is this the part where you tell me to live each day like it's my last?" Linda chuckled, "Good God, no. Whoever came up with that phrase never had a savings account or an Israeli nutritionist. But what we can do is seize the moment to make sure those we love know how we feel about them. For whatever the future may hold."

Lucifer replied, "Well, luckily Rory does know how I feel about her. My suit from last night has the bloodstains to prove it. But I suppose there are others who might not. Doctor, would you excuse me? There are a few things that I need to do. Oh, and tell Rory I'll be back later. And not to worry. I won't go anywhere near 10th and Swanson. You got that?" Linda nodded, "I'll relay the message." Lucifer walked to the door, but before he left, he said, "Doctor, you do know how much I value you, right?" Linda shrugged, "I make a pretty good therapist, don't I?" Lucifer laughed, "Well, slightly better than good. But I meant as a person, Linda. I hope you know that you truly are one of the most wonderful friends that a devil could ever have." Linda nodded, "I do now, Lucifer." Lucifer smiled, then left.

Over at Chloe's house, she was reading when she heard a knock on the door. It was Amenadiel. Chloe invited him in and Amenadiel said, "I've come to ask you a favor. Do you think that there's any way that you can convince Lucifer to become God?" Chloe sighed, "Uh, about that, Lucifer, he doesn't think it's…." "His calling," Amenadiel finished. "Yeah, I know. He told me last night." "Oh," Chloe replied. "You know, I believe him." Amenadiel actually agreed, "Yeah. So do I." Chloe said, "You know, I always thought it was strange that you didn't wanna become God. I mean, you're responsible, you're kind, compassionate, you're the most wonderful father. I just can't think of another angel that I would trust with making the world a better place for our children." Amenadiel sighed, "Thank you, Chloe. That's very flattering, but I decided against it months ago when I realized I wanted to stay here on Earth, living amongst humanity, with my child." Chloe then asked, "Well, who says God has to rule from Heaven?" Amenadiel replied, "Well, that's how my father did it. Maybe there's a better way? I don't know, Chloe. I just joined the force, just started helping Sonya with her fight. It'd be wrong to leave her all by herself. But, if I did this, what would you say to being God's point person here in the LAPD?" Chloe said, "I would say it would be my great honor and privilege." Amenadiel replied, "I have to think this through. It's the biggest decision that I've ever had to make." Chloe said, "Knowing you, I know you'll make the right one."

Over at LAPD, Ella was taking everything down from her "End of the World" board. She just removed Amenadiel's picture when she heard, "I wouldn't want his judgy eyes looking at me all day either." Ella turned and saw Lucifer standing at the door to her lab. She sighed, "Well, my investigation has served its purpose. Super glad the world isn't ending yet. It's in celestial hands. At least I'm in the loop now." Lucifer walked over to her, "About that. You deserve an apology. I know I didn't lie to you, but I should have never held the truth back from you. And I never, ever meant to make you feel excluded. And I should have told you about Azrael." Ella replied, "That's OK. Last night I didn't tell Carol about any of this stuff myself, and I recently learned from someone that you don't have to know everything to have trust. Not when you know eeac other's hearts." Lucifer chuckled, "Sounds like something my son would say. Still, I am truly sorry, and I just wanted you to know that. Just in case I never get another chance to tell you." Ella was confused, "What does that mean? Am I dying?" "No!" Lucifer replied. "I mean, eventually, sure, but…" That made Ella feel relieved, but then she asked, "Wait, are you dying?" Lucifer shook his head, "No, no. Well, at least, I don't think so." Ella sighed, "Oh, cool, cool."

Lucifer then said, "There is a small chance that I may leave today, without notice. I hope not, but there is a possibility. And since I disappeared from your life before, without warning, I don't wanna do that again." Ella asked, "Well is there anything I can do to help?" Lucifer shook his head, "I don't know why I leave or how or if. So unfortunately there's nothing anyone can do. But there is one thing you can do for me." Ella replied, "Anything." Lucifer then pulled out a box, "Accept this gift from me." Ella looked at the gift, "Accept a heartfelt gift? Uh, I don't know. That's gonna be pretty tough, but I'll try." Ella took the box and opened it, finding, "A pencil? I will absolutely accept this gift. It's like I always say, you can't beat a good old number two, right?" Lucifer replied, "Look at it again." Ella turned the pencil and saw something etched into it, "Miss Lopez STEM Initiative." Ella was confused, "I don't understand. What is this?" Lucifer explained, "I've opened up a foundation in your name. Its mission, to encourage young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. You're an inspiration, Miss Lopez. And if there were more people like you, then, well, the world would be a far better place." Ella then hugged Lucifer, which he easily reciprocated.

Over at a convenience store, Vincent was looking through the aisles and stopped to look at hair dyes. Dan was standing next to him, "Hair dye. Now you're not gonna match your stupid mug shot. That's great. Almost as great as the fact that no celestial can hear me, no matter how loud I yell!" Dan looked over and saw the TV on showing off a news story on Vincent escaping. Dan ran over and tried to alert the clerk, "Hey! Look up! Come on! Uh, Josh! Josh, look up! There's a murderous fugitive in aisle 5. Look up, man!" Dan looked up at the TV and tried to touch it to turn up the volume and surprisingly it worked. Dan laughed, "Holy shit, I did it! I actually touched something! I did it!" But Dan turned around and saw that it was really Josh who turned up the volume. Josh looked at Vincent then back up at the TV and turned it off. Dan said, "Yeah, you got this, Josh. You got this. Just call the cops. Josh, whoa! What are you reaching for a gun? Are you kidding me? This guy's a trained mercenary. You've handled that, what, maybe once in your life? Just ring him up and call the….."

Josh pulled the gun on Vincent, but Vincent took the gun away and pointed it at Josh, "Empty the register, mon ami." Josh did as he was told as Dan said, "Josh, he's gonna kill you, man." Dan walked up to Vincent and tried to stop him, but kept going through him, but tried one more time, and somehow possessed Vincent. Dan-Vincent said, "Ha! Whoa! Dude! What the….oh! Holy shit! I'm inside his body. Wait. I'm holding it! I can feel this in my hand. I can pull the trigger! But I won't, bro. I won't. No, because I'm a good guy in a bad guy's body. Right! Hey. Right here, this is yours. Yeah, here you go." He put the gun down and Josh picked it up and pointed it at Dan-Vincent, who said, "What the heck, bro? I just saved your life!" Josh replied, "Look, dude, I don't know what kind of drugs you're on, but just get the hell out of here!" Dan-Vincent nodded, "Yeah, OK. I'm going." Dan-Vincent ran out.

Over in Auradon, Carlos walked towards Jane's house to pick her up for their date. Carlos knocked on the door and took some deep breathes. He made sure that Dude stayed with Evie. Carlos said to himself, "Just relax. Act natural. You love her. You can do this." The door opened and Jane stood there wearing a light blue sun dress. Carlos blushed, "Jane. You look beautiful." Jane smiled, "Thanks. You look handsome." Carlos held out his arm, "Are you ready to go, my lady?" Jane giggled as she shut the door, "I am, good sir." Jane took Carlos' arm and continued, "You still have to update me though on what happened after the wedding." Carlos sighed, thinking to himself, "At least that might keep me distracted." So Carlos walked Jane towards the destination of their picnic date and Carlos told her everything that happened last night.

Over at Lux, Lucifer was looking over some paperwork when Amenadiel walked in. Lucifer looked up, "You're glowing. Why are you glowing?" Amenadiel answered, "I think I figured out how to fix things with our brothers and sisters." "Already?" Lucifer asked. "That was fast." Amenadiel said, "Imagine this. What if God didn't work alone?" Lucifer sighed, "Brother…" But Amenadiel continued, "Here me out, Lucy. Just hear me out. Our siblings clearly wanna help, yeah? So, why not let them? No more haphazardly granting prayers, of course, but with some guidance, think of the good that they could do. It'll take some communication and transparency on God's part. No more mysterious ways, but think about it, Lucy. How great would it have been tif Father had actually included us? I also think every single angel should spend time here on Earth. Maybe a year, maybe two, walking among humans, just like I did, to get to really understand humanity. Don't you think that would be a great help to God?"

Lucifer nodded, "Sure. It's not the worst idea you've ever had, but like I said, brother, I am not the right angel for the throne. Even if our siblings….." Amenadiel interrupted, "No, Lucy. I'm no longer talking about you being God." "Well, then who?" Lucifer asked. Amenadiel smiled and Lucifer realized, "You?" Amenadiel said, "Remember when Father said that we would figure it out? Well, for the first time, I actually feel like I know what he meant." Lucifer asked, "Are you sure, brother? Because if you don't want to do this…." Amenadiel interrupted, "Lucifer, being God is what I truly desire." Lucifer replied, "Then I can't think of a better angel for the job. Congratulations, Amenadiel. Or should I say, Amenagod." Amenadiel chuckled, "Well, it's not official yet. I'll fly up later on tonight after I put Charlie to sleep to see if I can convince our siblings." Lucifer replied, "Well, that shouldn't be too difficult. After all, you were their first choice before Michael and I mucked things up. Would you tell them you have my full blessing?"

Amenadiel smiled, "Thank you, Lucifer. Enough about me. What is it that you wanted to see me about?" Lucifer sighed, "Doesn't matter." Amenadiel replied, "No, Lucy. Come on, what is it?" Lucifer said, "No, it seems silly now. You know, after what you've told me your plans are. Well, I wanted you to sign some papers, giving you joint ownership of Lux. You know, just in case I'm not around as much." Amenadiel was confused, "Not around? Are you going somewhere? What about Carlos? Shouldn't he get some ownership, being your son." Lucifer sighed, "Speaking of son, having him and having a daughter has changed things." Amenadiel chuckled, "Ah. You wanna spend more time with your family. I understand. I would be happy to help out with Lux. In fact, what better place for our siblings to mix with humans? We can even employ them. Uh, bouncers, bartenders, dancers. And I get that you want to wait with Carlos as he isn't of age yet, but I'm sure he will get up to speed quickly as he has already done some work here for you." Lucifer said, "See? You've really got a knack for this, brother. This truly is your calling, isn't it?"

Amenadiel noticed the look on Lucifer's face, "Something is bothering you. And I think I know what it is. Don't worry, Lucy. You'll find your calling too. I have faith in you." Lucifer sighed, "You know, I never told you this, brother. But of all our siblings, I am glad it's you I spent all this time on Earth with. Because you are my favorite brother, brother. And I will miss you." Amenadiel chuckled, "Miss me? Well, it may take me a few days to get settled into omnipotence, but I'll be back later this week for Charlie's preschool interviews. Then settling up shop. Down here. You can't get rid of me that easily, brother. But you know who will be going away for a while." Lucifer sighed, "Right."

Amenadiel meant Maze, and Lucifer found her getting a motorcycle ready which had a "Just Married" sign on it. "Nice sign," Lucifer complimented. Maze turned to him, "It's not really my thing, but Eve made it, so…" Lucifer replied, "Oh, adapting to marriage already, I see." Maze said, "Well, you know what they say. Happy wife, happy life. What are you doing here?" Lucifer answered, "I have come to see you off." Maze scoffed, "It's just a honeymoon, Lucifer. Like a few weeks down to Brazil and back. It's like a vacation with extra sex." Lucifer chuckled, "That's what we said when we came to LA." Lucifer then held his arms out and Maze asked, "What are you doing?" "It's called a hug," Lucifer answered. Maze chuckled, "Yeah, I know what a hug is, but since when do we do that?" Lucifer said, "Well, no time like the present."

Maze realized, "You acting weird. What's going on? Are you in trouble? Do you need my help? Does it have to do with Thing 1 or Thing 2?" Lucifer shook his head, "No, you have things to do." Maze replied, "Yeah, but I can maybe ask Eve…" Lucifer stopped her, "Maze, no! I don't want you to worry about me anymore. You've come so far." "What does that mean?" Maze asked. Lucifer sighed, "It means that you have been beholden to me and my needs for far too long, and I'm sorry that I've always made it about me. OK?" Maze replied, "Lucifer, this life, this family I found, I wouldn't have any of it if it weren't for you. Consider us even." "After everything you've done for me?" Lucifer asked. "We'll never be even. You are my best friend, Maze. And I just wish I'd always treated you that way before." "Before what?" Maze asked. "Before now," Lucifer answered, starting to get tears in his eyes. Maze was too. Lucifer hide his with a chuckle, "Anyway, where's that wife of yours? You're not running off on your own already, are you?" Maze answered, "I'm picking her up from something called a cryo spa. Whatever that is." "Right," Lucifer said. "Well, I don't wanna keep you."

"Right," Maze replied. She turned to her bike, then turned back and handed Lucifer one of her demon knives. "What do you want see to do with that?" Lucifer asked. "Keep it," Maze answered. Lucifer sighed, "Maze, I couldn't." Maze said, "No matter what, you will always have a piece of me." Lucifer took it, then pulled Maze into a hug. Maze pulled away and got on her motorcycle, "Goodbye, Lucifer." She took off towards where Eve was. Lucifer turned and walked away.

Up in the penthouse, a portal opened and Hades walked through. He looked around, "Seems like no one is here. Hmm. That kid and his dad are probably around here somewhere." He walked to the elevator and got on it.

Dan-Vincent was standing in Lux, looking for Lucifer. He heard something and turned to see Lucifer come in, "Lucifer!" Lucifer just glared at him, "You!" Lucifer charged up to him and held him by the throat, "How did you get here, hmm? Doesn't matter if you've come back for more, I am happy to oblige." Dan-Vincent struggled to say, "Bracelet…..brother" Lucifer was confused, "Did you just say "bracelet brothers"?" Dan-Vincent nodded, "Yeah, yeah, it's me! Dan!" Lucifer let him go and Dan-Vincent explained, "I went to see Le Mec, thinking he was part of my guilt. But then there was a lion and then Le Mec escaped. And then he grabbed the clerk's gun and I jumped into his body, and now I'm stuck." Lucifer asked, "So you're inside the man that murdered you? Daniel! Only you could do something so completely, absurdly ridiculous." Lucifer started to laugh. But then they heard a glass slam down on the bar. They turned to see Hades standing there, "Well, this is something you don't see everyday. Plus, Lucifer, you need better drinks."

Lucifer walked over to Hades and asked, "What are you doing here?" Hades answered, "I told your kid that I would check up on him to make sure he keeps his end of our deal. Has your future daughter been taken back to her own time?" Lucifer sighed, "No, she is still here. And she's tried to return to her time. She told me that. But she can't." Hades groaned, "Lucifer, you have to understand. Her being here is not good. Time is a delicate thing. If she stays here too long, things could happen that should't happen. Time is on the line. Time will change." Lucifer scoffed, "How would you know? Maybe changing what happens in the future might be a good thing. Maybe because she's here, I won't abandon her as she says. Carlos won't be missing from her future. Besides, Carlos always says that we write our own destiny anyway." Hades sighed, "Lucifer, trust me. I tried changing my future. I tried to get Hercules out of the way so that he wouldn't interfere with my plan to overrule Zeus and the other gods and take over Olympus. And that didn't work out in my favor." Lucifer asked, "So time can't be changed?" Hades explained, "It can, but not in the way you think. Some outcomes are fixed, can't be changed. Trust me, I know three Fates that keep reminding me."

"Um, excuse me." Lucifer and Hades turned to Dan-Vincent, who continued, "I'm still trapped like this." Lucifer asked, "Right, well, why don't you just jump out of him the same way you jumped into him?" Dan-Vincent answered, "I tried that. It didn't work. And then I realized, if it did, I'd basically be setting a fugitive free. That's why I'm here, so you can tell me how to get out and then haul this cold blooded killer back to prison." Lucifer sighed, "Well, I'm really sorry, Daniel, but I have no idea how to help you. Also, I'm in a bit of a hurry, so…." "Wait," Dan-Vincent interrupted. "You have no idea? So I could be stuck in here forever?" Lucifer suggested, "Maybe you'll leave Le Mec when he dies, hmm? Something similar happens when demons possess bodies. Fingers crossed." Dan-Vincent asked, "Couldn't Carlos use his persuasion powers to force me out?" Lucifer sighed, "I don't think that would work, I feel my son would say the same thing." Dan-Vincent looked over at Hades, "Lord Hades, sir, can you fix this?" Hades pulled out his ember and waved it across him, but said, "No can do, I'm afraid. If you were still just a ghost, I would have been able to put you back into Hell. But your soul is tight within that vessel. I can't pull souls from living bodies, only dead ones. If I was here before this happened, I would be able to help."

Dan-Vincent put his head in his hands. Lucifer sighed, "Oh, Daniel. I am truly sorry that I can't help you. And I'm sorry that you were trapped in Hell. And this whole ghost thing. And I sincerely wish that I had been able to help you work through your guilt so that you could get to Heaven where a good man like you belongs." He poured both of them a drink and said, "Cheers. Hades, maybe you could have gotten one too if you didn't shit on my drink selection." Hades scoffed as Lucifer and Dan-Vincent took sips. Dan-Vincent sighed with glee as Lucifer said, "Silver lining. This could be an opportunity. New body, new start." Dan-Vincent replied, "I can't stay in this body, Lucifer. Le Mec is an escaped convict. There's a nationwide manhunt going on for him right now. I mean, best case, I live life on the run. Worst case, I spend it in Le Mec's prison cell. Purgatory all over again." Lucifer sighed, "Well, it appears neither of us have time to waste, then." "What does that mean?" Hades asked. Lucifer sighed, "So much to explain. Uh, I have started to patch things up with Rory, my daughter from the future." "So she doesn't wanna kill you with those crazy wings of hers anymore?" Dan-Vincent asked. Lucifer shook his head, "Thankfully, no. But she has informed me of a rather more disturbing fate. Apparently, sometime today, I head over to 10th and Swanson, and I'm never seen again." "Deep," Hades commented.

Dan-Vincent said, "OK. Well, just don't go to 10th and Swanson." Lucifer replied, "Yes, Daniel, thank you. That had occurred to me. Yes, it's a whole debate. Fate versus free will. Even Mr. Lord of thee Underworld over here is team Fate. Don't get me started. Anyway, the point is, Daniel, as my own clock ticks away, I'm realizing it's less about what we do with our final hours and more about who we spend them with. So, Daniel, while you have this physical form, maybe you should think about who you want to spend your final hours with." Hades turned to Lucifer, "You know, I may be all about Fate, but your son does have a point. The future isn't set in stone, and he is right about we write our own destiny. But we have to be cautious of our choices for our future. And know what the right decisions are. Because I abandoned my daughter. And I regret that choice." Lucifer nodded and thought about that for a bit.

Over at Chloe's house, she was reading books about time travel when she heard a knock on the door. She stood up and opened the door to reveal Lucifer, holding some containers of baby clothes, "These are some clothes that my nephew has grown out of. It's creepy how children do that, isn't it? Anyway, I thought they'd come in handy for Rory. The tiny one inside you, that is." Chloe replied, "Uh, thank you. That's very thoughtful?" Lucifer asked, "May I?" Chloe nodded as she took the containers, "Yeah, come in."

Lucifer went inside and turned to Chloe, "You said earlier that you didn't wanna do this alone. Well, I don't want that either. I need you to know that if there is any choice to be had at all, I will always choose us. None of us can be certain of the future. But what we can control is what we do right now. And what decisions we make. So whether this is my last day or not, what I do know is that I would like to spend it with the people I love most. My family." Lucifer then shocked Chloe by getting down on one knee as Lucifer asked, "Chloe Jane Decker, would you consider spending the rest of today with me and our daughter, along with my son." Chloe smiled, "How can I say no to that?" Lucifer got up and kissed Chloe. Pulling away, Chloe asked, "So where are we off to?" "As far away from 10th and Swanson as we can bloody well get." Chloe then asked, "Wait, you said Carlos went back to Auradon to propose to Jane. So isn't he busy?" Lucifer chuckled, "Then that's where we'll go. Auradon is as far away from 10th and Swanson as I can think of."

Over in Auradon, Carlos and Jane were enjoying their picnic on the cliffside. Jane said, "So Linda wrote a book on your dad and he had several people read it to figure out why his wings wouldn't come out?" Carlos nodded, "Yep. And I feel my dad still thinks that he'll disappear soon leaving Chloe and Rory and me. Plus, I apparently am not in Rory's future, so there's that. But I believe that Rory is from a possible future. As I feel the future isn't set in stone. I think I'm getting that thought around to my dad." Jane leaned her head on Carlos' shoulder, "I don't think you'll disappear. I know it. We're going to head off to college in a few weeks and work for our future." Carlos smiled, as he felt the ring box in his pocket, "Talking about the future, that brings me to something I wanted to talk to you about. But first, how about a dance, my lady?" Carlos stood up as music started to play. Jane took Carlos' hand and they started to dance with the music, Carlos starting to sing,

Can't say how the days will unfold

Can't change what the future may hold

But I want you in it

Every hour, every minute

This world can race by far too fast

Hard to see while it's all flying past

But it's clear now

When you're standing here now

I am meant to be wherever you are next to me

All I want to do

Is come running home to you

Com running home to you

And all my life I promise to

Keep running home to you

Keep running home

To you

And I could see it

Right from the start

Right from the start

That you would be

Be my light in the dark

Light in the dark

Oh you gave me no other choice

But to love you

All I want to do

Is coming running home to you

Come running home to you

And all my life I promise to

keep running home to you

Keep running home

To you

Can't say how the days will unfold

Can't change what the future may hold

But I want you in it

Every hour, every minute

During the last verse, Carlos had pulled away and got the ring box out of his pocket. Jane put her hands over her mouth as Carlos got down on one knee. Carlos looked up at her, "Jane, will you marry me?" Jane started to cry and nodded, "Yes! Yes, I will marry you, Carlos!" Carlos smiled as he pulled the ring out of the box and put it on Jane's left ring finger. He then stood up and Jane pulled him into a passionate kiss.

They then heard cheering coming from the forest line. Pulling away, they turned to see all their friends standing there, Mal, Evie, Jay, Ben, Doug, Lonnie, and even Fairy Godmother. Carlos looked over and saw Lucifer, Chloe, and Rory standing there. Dude walked over to them, "Yeah, sorry. I could't keep this a secret." Carlos chuckled and petted Dude. Everyone ran over and congratulated the newly engaged couple. Carlos looked over at Lucifer and asked, "Dad, what are you doing here? I thought…." Lucifer interrupted him, "I wanted to be here to support my son. And to invite you and your fiancée for a day trip. You never did show me the beaches here. And your friends and future mother in law are welcome as well." Carlos smiled at that.

Everyone made their way down to the beach and started to enjoy themselves. Lucifer was sitting next to Rory looking out at Chloe as she was drinking a glass of champagne. Lucifer said to Rory, "Take care of her, will you?" Rory looked over at Lucifer, "I do. We take care of each other." Lucifer sighed, "Rory, I need you to know that I believe you. I believe that I could be….was gone when you needed me the most. It's taken me a long time to accept that because I know what it feels like to be abandoned by a parent. To feel rejected. I was angry at my father too, for a long time. But I was also angry at myself. I thought I was a monster. That I must have done something or been something to make myself unworthy of his love. I hope you never felt that way. I want you to know that whatever may happen, if I do go, that it could never be your fault. I'm so sorry I left you in your future. And I need you to know that I will do everything in my power to stay." Rory started to cry, "I believe you too." Lucifer pulled her into a hug. Lucifer added, "And I know that your brother will do everything in his power to stay as well. We both don't know what happened to him in your future, but after what I witnessed today, I know that II am hopeful for the future he believes in so much."

Lucifer saw Chloe walking over and Lucifer pulled away from Rory. Lucifer said, "Ironically, you look more like an angel than the two of us." Chloe laughed, "Oh, come on, you two." Chloe then sat in Lucifer's lap and looked out to the waves. Carlos and Jane walked over and Chloe said, "There's the lucky couple." Chloe stood up and gave Jane a hug, along with Carlos. Rory stood up, "Congrats, big bro." She pulled Carlos into a hug. Lucifer stood up, "Carlos, can I have a word in private, please?" Carlos nodded and he and Lucifer walked to their own spot on the beach.

"What's going on, Dad?" Carlos asked. Lucifer smiled, "I'm just enjoying the day with my family. Which now includes a future daughter in law." Carlos replied, "You seem like there's a lot on your mind. Tell me, Dad." Lucifer sighed, knowing that his son was using his persuasion powers, "This morning, Chloe reminded me that today is the day, according to Rory, that I disappear. I don't know how or if. But I've been spending today talking to the people I care about most, just in case this is my last day. Telling Linda that she is the best therapist, Amenadiel telling me that he's going to be a part-time God, and sending Maze off on her honeymoon." Carlos sighed, "Dad, remember what I told you….." "The future isn't set in stone," Lucifer finished. "And we write our own destiny. I know. I'm just being cautious is all." "Remember that I disappear too apparently," Carlos replied. "Which sounds ludicrous if you ask me. I would never leave my little sister. Or any of the people in LA. I believe in the future I set for myself." Lucifer smiled, "And I've always admired that about you, son. Just promise me that whatever happens, you keep onward towards that future of yours. With your true love at your side." Carlos nodded, "I will." Lucifer pulled Carlos into a hug and Lucifer said, "I love you, son." "I love you too, Dad," Carlos replied.

Lucifer, Chloe, and Rory went back to LA and stood on a beach there, Chloe in Lucifer's arms. Carlos promised that he would return later that night. Rory said, "Yeah, I think I'll give you two some time alone." Lucifer replied, "No, Rory! We still have time." Rory sighed, "The truth is, if you leave, I don't wanna see it. I wanna remember you like this. This is perfect." Rory unfurled her wings and flew away. "Should I go after her?" Lucifer asked. Chloe shook her head, "No. We all have a choice. Let her make hers."

Over in a park, Dan-Vincent was walking around. He saw a model rocket lying on the ground and bent down to pick it up when he heard, "Hey, that's mine!" Trixie ran over from her camp group. Dan-Vincent handed it back, then tried to hug her, but Trixie used a karate move and knocked him down. "OK!" Dan-Vincent shouted. "No hugs? Maze teach you those moves?" Trixie was confused, "You know Maze?" Dan-Vincent stood up, "Yeah. I'm a friend of hers, and your dad's. And, boy, did he talk about you all the time." "What's your name?" Trixie asked. Dan-Vincent lied, "Belios." Trixie replied, "Weird name. Never heard of you. Are you a cop like my dad?" Dan-Vincent nodded as Trixie continued, "So you won't mind answering a few questions. You know, to verify." Dan-Vincent smiled, "Ask away."

Trixie started, "You said my dad talked about me. What's my favorite game?" "Currently?" Dan-Vincent replied. "Unstable Unicorns." "What do I wanna be when I grow up?" Trixie asked. "President of Mars," Dan-Vincent answered. "Favorite meal," Trixie said. "Chocolate cake, although you know your dad really doesn't consider that a meal," Dan-Vincent replied.

Dan seemed like he was himself again, talking to his daughter, "You know, he also told me that you're the best kid a dad could ever ask for. Told me how smart you are. How kind. A little rebellious at times. But still, the most loving daughter. And he cares about you more than anything in the whole world." Trixie smiled, "I guess you know my dad pretty well." Dan sighed, "I'm sorry he had to leave you." "Me, too." Trixie replied. Dan said, "He didn't mean to, you know. And I'm sure wherever he is, he is so sorry that he had to. Before he could….." Dan couldn't say it, so Trixie asked, "Before what?" Dan answered, "Before he could be a good role model to you. The dad you deserve." Trixie was confused, "What are you talking about? He was the best dad ever. The best person ever." Dan chuckled, "No. Aww, he tried to be. But he made so many mistakes." Trixie replied, "Everyone makes mistakes. And my dad taught me that mistakes are important. And we need them so that we can learn and do better next time. I love my dad. I miss him every day. But he'll always be with me. Proud of me. Just like I'm proud of him. So take back what you said."

Dan chuckled as tears threatened to fall down his face. He saw some light coming down from the sky and asked, "Do you see that? That light." Trixie shook her head, "No. I should get back. See you later, Belios." Trixie walked back to her group and Dan realized that he just resolved his guilt, the guilt of not being there for his daughter. The light took him and his soul finally went up to Heaven. Leaving Vincent back his body. He took some deep breaths and then realized he remembered everything that happened when Dan possessed him. And he got an evil smirk on his face.

Back at the penthouse, Lucifer and Chloe walked in with Lucifer saying, "San literally get everywhere." Chloe chuckled, "Yes, it does." She looked over and saw the panic room and said, "OK. Well, so far, so good, right?" Lucifer nodded, "Only 45 minutes till this day is history." Chloe sighed, "Maybe don't put it that way." "Right, sorry," Lucifer replied. "It's OK," Chloe said. "Besides, Carlos should be back soon from Auradon anyway." They heard a noise and saw some metal bars falling to the ground. They laughed and Chloe said, "Uh, OK, I know I wasn't so into the idea of the panic room earlier, but…." Lucifer replied, "Well, yes, I mean, I did go to all the trouble of building it, I suppose." "Maybe it's just the name," Chloe suggested. "Maybe if we call it the "feeling totally fine" room." Lucifer nodded and opened it, leading himself and Chloe inside.

The room had a full bar and plush seating. Chloe said, "Wow." "I know," Lucifer replied. "It's a bit thrown together. I only had a day." Chloe shook her head, "No, it's amazing!" Lucifer turned and locked the door, "The door will only unlock once the day is finally over." "Oh, good," Chloe replied. "You know, just in case." Lucifer walked over to her, "Speaking of just in case, Chloe, my love, there are so many things…." "No," Chloe interrupted. "I don't wanna hear it. We're not saying goodbye, Lucifer." Lucifer said, "But I need you to know…" "No," Chloe interrupted again. "I can't. Just be with me." She put herself in Lucifer's arms. Lucifer held her and they lightly danced with each other.

Over in Auradon, Carlos escorted Jane home. Dude had gone home with Evie, along with the others. At her front door, Jane turned to Carlos and asked, "So, you're heading back to LA?" Carlos nodded, "Just for a little bit. Like you said earlier, college starts for us in a few weeks." Jane smiled, "Then I'll see you then, fiancé." Carlos smirked, "You too, fiancée." They leaned in and kissed each other. Jane pulled away and went inside her house. Smiling, Carlos turned around and started to walk a bit as he was about to open a portal. Suddenly Hades appeared in front of him. Carlos said, "Gah! You startled me." Hades replied, "Sorry about that kid. Congrats on the engagement by the way." "Thank you," Carlos said. "What are you doing here?" "I went to LA earlier," Hades answered. "You weren't there. I talked to your old man, though. I warned him about your future sister being in this time for too long. As there are consequences for that. And after talking with some Fates I know, it seems I was right." Carlos' face paled, "Something happened, didn't it? Tell me."

Over in LA, the lock on the panic room unlocked. Chloe looked up, "Is that…." "The door," Lucifer finished. "It's midnight." They walked out of the panic room back into the penthouse where the clock was chiming the fact that it was midnight. Chloe said, "You did it, Lucifer. It worked." "Or maybe Rory coming back changed things, like you said," Lucifer replied. "Hades even seemed to agree with you." Chloe said, "Yeah, but either way, the day is over, and you're here!" Lucifer chuckled, "I am! I'm here! Who cares about fate? Carlos was right. We write our own destiny."

His phone was vibrating and Lucifer said, "It's Rory. Right. Try not to gloat. I'm sure she'll be just as happy she was wrong." Lucifer answered the phone, "Guess who's here." But Lucifer's face started to pale as he listened to whoever was speaking and then dropped the phone. "What?" Chloe asked. "What is it? What's wrong?" Lucifer answered, "That wasn't Rory. That was Le Mec. He's got her." "What?" Chloe asked. "He's holding her hostage," Lucifer explained. "And he wants me to come and get her." "What?" Chloe asked. "Where?" Lucifer revealed, "10th and Swanson."
