Author's Note:

Ladies and Gentlemen of all ages, fans of all sorts of animation and literature, especially fans of The Owl House, I present to you chapter 40 of my story.

I am looking forward to this chapter and hope you enjoy it.

I probably made some scenes too cheesy or heartbreaking, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

Maybe I made Eda slightly OCC, but all in all I think I did well with the writing of this chapter.

Ps. There are only two people left until this story reaches 400 Followers.

Noob: Negative criticism without purpose or sense won't help anyone.

RedBurningDragon: I agree with you about Fuinjutsu is based on knowledge of Kanji, Holmes / Gudrun having grown up as an Asgardian owns, Allspeak: Thanks to the Allspeak Gudrun can communicate in all of the languages of the Nine Realms, Earth's dialects, and various alien languages

It means that Gudrun must be careful when using Runes to do big tasks, if not, BOOM BOOM!

I don't understand what you want with "Thats going to be weird seeing him again with her crush on him and remembering him being around the same."

Gudrun has a crush on Touko Aozaki, are you suggesting that Touko meets his old pupil?

I'm not sure, the mutations are in the physical realm, while the soul focuses on the spiritual realm.

Finally, thank you very much for helping me when I needed an opinion to resolve my doubts on some points of this chapter.

Trpstar: Holmes / Gudrun and Frigga have a normal mother-son relationship, they both love each other, only Gudrun with the revelation of being adopted had a hard time showing his affection.

Holmes / Gudrun and Eda officially have a teacher-student relationship. But unofficially they have a mother-child relationship because of their experiences together.

Gudrun feels grateful to Eda for helping her when she was having a hard time with the adopted and half-human stuff.

Eda is protective of her because she blames herself as the reason here Gudrun is stuck with Alastor and other stuff.

Gudrun was emotionally unstable when he thought about his situation of being with Eda and King in the Hot Isles or returning to Asgard where Frigga, Thor and Loki are.

He had the morbid idea of creating a fake corpse out of his likeness and sending it to Asgard, so he could either stay with Eda or send the corpse to Eda ...

He wasn't thinking very clearly at the time and Alastor wasn't helping. Fortunately, Merlin was able to put some reason in his student's head, saying that he can love more people in the same way.

I'm aiming for Devil May Cry for the next benefits.

Suggestion for Jean / Ruler Otaku written in my notebook, probably in the next chapters Jean / Ruler will appear.

You want Holmes Gudrun Clawthorne to show what he can do when he is serious and angry, you will see that in the next chapters, I am about to bring out some very big advantages.

When Luz and King get into big trouble in New York, Big Brother Snake bites worse than a seven-headed hydra.

Chapter 40: The Good Witch Azula and The Magical Swordsman Rojo. First part.

Alternate title: The Kohai meets the Senpai. First part.

POV Narrator

In the Demon Kingdom, on the body of a dead titan where many people now called the Boiling Islands live, including a human girl named Luz Noceda.

Luz is a fourteen-year-old Dominican-American girl with tanned skin, short purplish-brown / brown-purple hair that is usually styled with a pixie cut and hazel eyes.

Her attire consists of a pair of ebony earrings, a half-white, half-indigo short-sleeved hoodie with cat ears attached to the hood, high-waisted denim shorts, dark gray capris leggings, and a pair of white loafers.

In the early summer, Luz was sent to the reality Check Camp due to her creativity reaching a boiling point.

On Terra Luz is not the most popular person in town or school or class.

Virtually everyone considers it too eccentric and creative in the best cases or in the worst cases weird and with some wheels out of place.

After yet another trouble at school which consists of the use of live snakes and fireworks to review a book.

Luz's mother was persuaded by the school principal to send Luz to a summer camp where he would "help" her out of the clouds and live in reality.

While Luz was waiting for the bus, an event happened that changed the path of her entire life.

Luz saw an owl stealing her favorite book, wanting her book back and chasing the owl, ending up experiencing the story of Alice in Wonderland in her own way.

Before realizing she had crossed the "rabbit hole", Luz found herself in the Hot Isles, a magical and dangerous world.

In a short time he met the witch Eda, along with several troubles, at the end of the adventure.

Luz decided to stay for the summer by making her mother believe she was still at the camp while learning from Eda how to become a witch.

Since that day there have been several adventures for Luz, learning to cast a light spell and befriending Eda, King, Willow, Gus and Amity, the last being a rather complicated situation actually.

Soon Luz would have participated in the Academia Ars Magus, the best school of witches in the entire Boiling Islands, everything was possible thanks to Eda who knows one of the big shots of the Academia Ars Magus, giving him a scholarship.

In short thanks to Eda, Lus is about to become a true student of a real school of magic.

Too bad there are small obstacles to her admission, in an alternate timeline Luz's obstacle would have resolved with a training camp in a very cold place.

But due to the butterfly effect of a certain Olympic Demigod and the manipulation of Lady-Forge's Reality, Luz's road will take an unexpected turn.

Today is a quiet day ... by common standards in the Hot Isles.

The residents of the Owl House went to do Eda's side job, selling human junk saying they are high-value treasures. At times Eda would sell some very expensive magical junk, especially special potions and wands.

The trio of a Witch, a Demon and a human arrived in Bonesborough in the afternoon.

Before long they found a good suitable place for them where a constant number of potential customers pass by and where annoying guards rarely patrol.

After a few hours of work, Eda can say she has made a decent profit.

Part of the success of the sale comes from Luz being able to understand the true purposes of human "treasures", knowing how to turn them on and make them work properly.

The rest of the success comes from selling chopsticks, because a new school semester is starting soon, almost all students are trying to get a good wand.

Emperor's Coven can deny it as much as it wants, but no self-respecting witch can deny the fact that the wands Eda sells are among the best in the history of the Hot Isles, being sought after by countless students and witches.

One sold an old TV and a 8-inch long unicorn-core fir wood wand.

The trio took a well-deserved lunch break, going to eat at the back of their shop.

XXX

"Today was a great day for selling chopsticks. I don't like school, but I like to see students selling an arm and a leg for my chopsticks." Eda said, while the huge profit just made counts.

Eda is a tall, slender woman with ivory skin, pointed ears, brown lips and golden eyes. Oddly, instead of showing his 40s or more due to his curses, he appears to be in his early thirties.

Her wild hair is thick, long, and layered with shades of bright orange, silver, and a few wisps of gray.

It has two screwed gold fangs that protrude, crimson claw-like nails, and a star-shaped crystal gem on the sternum.

She wears a red scarf around her neck, a sleeveless two-tone burgundy dress with a ripped hem and black leggings, red high-heeled boots.

She wears a lot of expensive jewelry, two large ruby earrings in the shape of raindrops and ten gold rings with precious stones.

"Eda, those wands aren't yours, you don't make them, you just sell them." King said, quitting "training his soldier" Francois, to correct Eda.

King is a feline creature that somewhat resembles a fox. It has mostly dark gray fur, although its torso and tail tip are covered in light gray fur.

A unique detail of its appearance is a dog-like skull with white horns on its head, one of which is broken.

The missing part of the broken horn has been replaced by a pure platinum substitute, while on the whole horn it carries a golden ring designed to resemble a crown.

Around her neck she wears a crimson choker made of a mysterious metal, with a complex star-shaped medallion with a large KC inside.

Meanwhile, Eda counts the money and King plays with her stuffed animal. Luz is reading a pamphlet on the Academia Ars Magus.

"Eda, King, listen to this!" Luz shouted, attracting the attention of her teacher and friend.

"Luz, we know you're euphoric to start studying at Ars Magus, I still don't understand why, but you can turn the volume down." Eda said, also having her limits for how much uproar she can support a single day.

"Agree with Eda, in the last few hours you only talk about Ars Magus, you should pay attention to things that are really important, like my real greatness." King said, hitting the chest with a paw, wanting Luz's full attention.

"Sorry! Now that I will be an Ars Magus student, I want to learn everything! I have a new crush and it's called Education!" Luz said, returning to talk about the school of magic so much felt lately.

"Did you know that Ars Magus was founded as a refuge for the Clan Kaka, a tribe of cat-women. But due to the growing power and influence of the principal Nine the Phantom, the refuge has become a small town of schools for all young girls. witches of the Boiling Isles. " Luz said, reading some interesting details about her future school.

"Yes, I know all these things, I went there. It was the most heartbreaking time of my life." Eda said, hating her student years with the exception of her jokes, sporting events and club activities, otherwise she hates the traditional education system.

"Nyah!" King yelled, leaping like a hound to grab Luz's pamphlet, tearing it apart, not wanting to hear the name Ars Magus anymore.

"I think it's time to see what you brought today, Owlbert." Eda muttered, her kleptomaniac eyes twinkling at the idea of getting a shiny object.

Suddenly Eda summons a briefcase with a golden eye and throws it into the air, transforming itself into a magical gateway to the human kingdom.

Within seconds it opens, showing Owlbert flying through the door, dragging a giant sack with him. The sack tears when he spills it on the floor, revealing a pile of human trash.

Then the door closes and becomes a simple suitcase again.

"Eda, human treasure day doesn't normally happen at home, so you can keep what you like?" Luz asked, after about a month of living at the Owl House, Luz has learned most of Eda's habits.

"There has been some ... interference in the last week. I don't understand how or why, but the portal doesn't want to work properly when we're at the Owl House. That's why Human Treasure Day happens here." Eda explained, omitting some very important details, not wanting to worry Luz that her single way home stopped working properly.

"Interference? Has this ever happened before? Is this something temporary?" Luz asked, sounding very worried about the portal malfunction.

"Calm down Luz, as you saw earlier. The portal works perfectly, it just stops working near the Owl House." Eda said, trying to calm Luz, hating to see Luz sad which makes her remember a certain person with a hero complex.

"This reassures me, but what do you think can interfere with the portal?" Luz asked, confident that Eda is telling the truth and not just trying to allay her fears.

"I'm pretty sure it melts it, it's from the basement. A lot of weird things have happened in that place that have influenced the Owl House." Eda said, in a bittersweet tone, trying not to smile.

"Do we have a basement?" Luz asked, knowing the Owl House to a basement.

"Eh, yeah? I guess I never showed you around, right? The entrance to the basement is outside, behind the house." Eda replied, cursing herself for talking about the basement, there was a reason why she didn't tell Luz about that place.

"That basement was the source of a lot of unprecedented events, some good, some bad." King replied, starting to tremble faintly at the mention of the mysterious basement, whether he was shaking with fear or excitement is a mystery.

"What kind of events, a zombie invasion or a trip to a fairy kingdom?" Luz asked, starting to be terribly curious about this basement.

"Once Hooty ate something from the basement that made her sing Latin music all day without stopping me, that pipe monster is out of tune." King said, plugging his ears with his paws, still feeling the phantom pain of Hooty's singing, clearly it's one of the bad events.

"Once the chimney spit balloons instead of smoke, sending the whole house flying, at least once we landed we had a nice weekend at the beach." Eda said with nostalgia, clearly he is one of the good events.

"We can have a weekend at the beach, I haven't taken a swim or played on the beach since I was little." Luz said, getting distracted for a moment, thanks to the idea of having fun at the beach with Eda, King and ... Amity.

'Amity would like to go to the beach with me? Does he know how to swim? I can teach her to swim! I wonder what kind of swimsuit would Amity wear !? ' Luz's brain begins to fantasize about certain things, turning red.

Quickly shaking her head, Luz stops before she starts thinking inappropriately about Amity.

"One day all the members of the Coven of Evil Owls will go to the beach. All four of you to celebrate your entry into Ars Magus." Eda said, counting in the group a person who is not physically present.

"You just said the four of us ... wait how come a basement can do so many things, it just happens to be the repository for all your dangerous magical artifacts." Luz asked, returning to her usual inquisitive self, thinking that underneath the Owl House there may be a crypt full of treasures and magical items.

"No, the basement is ..." King's about to spit the toad, but Eda puts a hand on his muzzle, stopping it just in time to reveal something Luz shouldn't know.

"Look, King, fresh garbage." Eda stated, grabbing King and throwing herself into the mountain of human trash with him.

"Yes! Another worthy addition to my army of terror! Reminds me of someone, but I can't figure out who exactly." King said, emerging out of the trash holding a Pokémon-shaped plush toy, specifically a Cubone.

"Yo, boy. Your garbage pile is cooling down. Mine is heating up! I have never seen such an extravagant earring." Eda said, coming out of the mountain of garbage with a mirror and a wire hanger that uses it as an earring.

"That's not an earring, it's a hanger. Humans use it to hang their clean clothes in closets." Luz said, correcting Eda about the real use of "such extravagant earrings", but to Eda and her fashion sense it means nothing.

"Whoa! Oh, hello beauty!" Eda said, admiring her reflection and her new accessories, doing some modeling poses and running her hand through her hair.

"Eda, don't ignore me. Tell me, is there a magic laboratory underneath the Owl House, full of magical things including wands, potions, magic books, enchanted mirrors and flying brooms?" Luz asked, taking the mirror out of Eda's hands so she can't get distracted by her narcissism.

"Luz ... look what we have here, a new book from your favorite series!" Eda said, miraculously finding a book by Azula that shouldn't exist in the trash, taking it in front of Luz, hoping her inner fangirl is more powerful than her curiosity.

"The Good Witch Azula and The Magical Swordsman Rojo." Luz said, reading the title of the book, looking at the cover showing Azura fighting alongside a man dressed in red and gold.

"I read on the internet that the author of The Good Witch Azula would be collaborating with another writer. I didn't think it would be out so soon. But who is The Magical Swordsman Rojo?" Luz asked, not recognizing the new character who has to collaborate with Azula.

"The Magical Swordsman Rojo, is the story of a twelve-year-old boy from an interstellar realm, Sokarum.

One day at the sudden Rojo, the prince of Sokarum, he is attacked by horrible creatures who want to destroy Sokarum, aiming at the royal family that holds an ancient cosmic power.

Rojo receives the key to cosmic power during the attack, but is eventually captured and imprisoned by the enemy.

Miraculously he manages to break free from his prison, making a pact with an extra-dimensional creature, which ends up living inside him.

Using the cosmic key and the powers of the entity that lives within him, he creates a portal that takes him into a realm similar to Victorian London combined with similar elements of the classic Medieval Fantasy environment.

After a crash landing in the bottom bases of a city, he ends up making friends with Emma and Karlos, a couple of humble brothers.

Emma is a very skilled thief and expert in manipulating people, while her little brother Karlos is a little tactical and economic genius.

Together with Rojo, they form an unbeatable and dynamic team ... "Eda stops talking, slapping herself on the forehead, knowing she has made a huge mistake.

"Eda, do you know this series of books !?

It means you're a nerd like me too!

We can have our own private book club and talk on our favorite ships!

Can I invite Amity to the club too? "Luz shouted, looking like she was about to explode with happiness at having discovered a new thing she shares with Eda.

"No, no, no, no, no, no! There will be no book club! Because I'm not a nerd like you! I know all these things because I've spent eight years of my life with a bookworm ten times more nerdy of you filling my head with this nonsense. " Eda explained, not wanting to be considered a book nerd like Luz in the slightest, her reputation would be devastated if anyone found out she knows details of a damn saga for distressed teenagers.

"Don't be ashamed of being a nerd, accept it and take pride in being one!" Luz exclaimed, putting a hand on Eda's shoulder, trying to support Eda's hidden nerd.

"I'm not a nerd! What do I have to do to make you forget this moment !?" Eda asked, wanting to erase the last five minutes of her life from history.

"You tell me what you are hiding in the basement and who is this phantom fourth person you avoid talking." Luz said, playing the best juggling game of her life, proving she's smarter than she looks.

"Well played, Luz, well played." Eda said, giving a slow, loud applause, not believing she was being played by Luz of all the people on the Hot Isles.

"See, I didn't want to talk to you about this until the time was right, before you I had ..."

CLING!

CLING!

CLING!

The ringing of the bell interrupts the discussion between Eda and Luz.

"Let's talk later, we have a client to rob." Eda said, happy as ever to interrupt her break. Without wasting time, she went to see who will be the "lucky" customer to do business with her.

"Eda, we're not done talking. Tell me what's in the basement !?" Luz shouted, chasing Eda, wanting to sate her endless curiosity.

XXX

When Luz and Eda arrived at the stall, they paused for a second at the sight of their customers.

Luz saw a thin girl of her age, with pale skin, chin-length hair with a ponytail that rips her front hair from her face and bright golden eyes. Like most witches, she has pointed ears. Her hair is two-tone, made up of shades of aquamarine with brown hair, her natural hair color visible at the roots. She is dressed in a short sleeved black dress with orchid leggings and black pointed toe shoes with gold crescent buckles. Around his neck he wears an amulet with an orchid gem. Carrying a small walking bag.

She is Amity Blight, a young prodigious witch who attends the Academia Ars Magus.

At Amity's side is an unusual creature, but not abnormal by Hot Isles standards.

A two-tailed feline type animal with black and white fur, amber eyes and a black mane, hidden under the hood.

He wears a largely orange hoodie with black trim, reminiscent of those worn by the Kaka clan, with a brown belt passing over his right shoulder, which he uses to carry the Musashi. He also wears a belt-shaped eye patch on his right eye.

This person is Jubei, one of the many differences created voluntarily and / or involuntarily by Lady-Forge in her game with her champion dressed in red.

"Amity, what are you doing here? I never thought I'd see you as a customer at our shop, have you started to be interested in human beings?" Luz asked, delighted to see Amity at her stall.

"Yes ... No ... See, I'm here to buy something I can't find anywhere else." Amity said, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"Jubei, old furball, what brings you here?" Eda asked, greeting her old friend, Jubei.

"I just wanted to have a brief visit to a former pupil and at the same time buy a suitable wand for Mittens." Jubei replied, embarrassing Amity in front of Luz.

"Venerable Jubei, you can not call me Mittens." Asked Amity politely of the cat creature, it means she must be a very important person and respect.

"Mittens has so far used a training wand to learn new spells. He wants to beat Ed and Em's high score on the exam, so he needs a real wand and not the shoddy stuff you can find all over the place. The shop. La Dame Mystérieuse is still closed, you are the only one with sticks of the same quality. " Jubei explained the reasons why he and Amity are in Eda's shop.

"Why is it so important to get a proper wand? Witches can't use their hands to do magic until they get their staff?" Luz asked, not understanding why so many students want a wand, including Amity.

Luz remembers very well Eda teaching him that wands are training wheels, things that small children use.

"Luz, normally Hot Isles witches usually get their staff one of two ways.

Most get their own staff when they graduate from school, but a rare few do their own once they're ready.

Until then, the children train with chopsticks and then abandon them in favor of the staff once they finish their academic studies.

I at least was until eight years ago. "Eda said, remembering how all this new interest in drumsticks started.

'My crazy owl wanted a staff of his own, I said he should wait a few years or else go to the dark area of the Mortis Forest in search of Luna Nova's lost wand.

After an avalanche of skeletons, a mountain of zombies and a flight through the monstrous forest, the mad owl found Luna Nova's lost wand.

By studying and found a revolutionary method for making wands, bringing them to the same level as the staff. ' Eda thought, remembering how close she was to getting a heart attack that night and how proud she was of him the next day when she started taking her first steps as a magical craftsman.

"What happened eight years ago?" Luz asked, practically ignorant of the history of the Boiling Isles, having not even had a traditional history lesson with Eda.

"Not what, but who. Eight years ago Charlotte Adler appeared in front of the entrance to the Academia Ars Magus." Jubei said, in a serious tone, saying an important name that Luz does not know.

"Who is Charlotte Adler?" Luz asked, not knowing this person.

Amity looked at her as if a second head had sprung up, Jubei raised an eyebrow.

"Edalyn Clawthorne in the name of Titan what you teach Luz!

I understand she just came to the Hot Isles, but even the ignorant know who Charlotte Adler is!

If Luz weren't Luz, I would have verbally attacked that person for daring to sell Charlotte Adler's wands, without knowing who is the creator of those wands! "Amity shouted, angry at Eda for not informing Luz about the sudden people of the island. .

"I'm sorry but in Luz's training, I don't have time to teach her useless things for her." Eda replied, putting Amity actually there are other reasons as to why she didn't tell Luz about certain famous people.

"Amity don't be mad about Eda, she's the way she teaches. Could you please tell me who Charlotte Adler is?" Asked Luz, disarming the possible quarrel between Eda and Amity, seeing her mother figure and her beautiful friend quarrel would be a very bad sight for Luz.

"Charlotte Adler is one of my idols. As a person I want to become like Lilith. But as a witch I aim to become like Charlotte Adler." Amity said, starting to play with her fingers, looking like a shy fangirl.

"To be one of the idols he must be a very great witch." Luz stated the obvious, as if someone as beautiful and intelligent as Amity could admire an ordinary person.

"Yes, very recently about the origins of Charlotte Adler, her entire past is a mystery. Simply out of the blue she showed up at the Academia Ars Magus, challenging the president of the student committee." Amity said, starting to explain the basic details.

The Academia Ars Magus is the best school of the Boiling Islands having several centuries of history, being prior to the regime of the Emperor Belos.

The school thanks to an agreement between Nine the Phantom and Belos the Academia Ars Magus is allowed to teach any type of magic to any witch indifferent to origins, wealth, social status etc.

The Academia Ars Magus allows its students to learn one or all of the paths provided to the Congrega del emperor, witches of the highest level.

Those who failed to enter the emperor's favor were accepted into normal covenants but received high positions.

A small minority of students who do not want to give up their multidisciplinary magic thus join the Academia Ars Magus as teachers for the many classes of the school.

There are several means and / or conditions to be admitted to the Academia Ars Magus:

- Be the heir of a noble house and / or be the firstborn of a member of the Congrega del Imperatore.

- Be noticed by one of the Talent Scouts who will send you an invitation letter to the Academia Ars Magus.

- Be recommended by an ex-student and pass the entrance exam.

- The last option, challenge to a duel and defeat the best senior student of the Academia Ars Magus. In case of defeat the challenger receives a black mark and is banned for life from each

"You're telling me this Charlotte Adler had to KO the best student to get admitted to school, it must have been a show." Luz said, imagining what an epic confrontation it was.

"It was more than just epic. I was also there that day, I was six and had come with my parents to discuss the future admission of the twins to school.

I saw with my own eyes how a 12-year-old girl defeated each member of the student council one by one, arriving to challenge the president of the student council, ranked as the best final year student.

With unprecedented grace and magic to defeat each of his opponents, a sight that marks you for life. "Amity said, making no secret of the fact that she is a fangirl of this person.

"Charlotte Adler, once admitted, became the best student of the Academia Ars Magus.

He gets a perfect line of grades, participating in every advanced magic class, breaking all school records, winning all the prizes offered by the school of magic.

He has participated in various extra-school clubs and sports teams, easily ending up in the position of president and captain, bringing a lot of trophies to the school in every school competition.

His merits have allowed him to obtain numerous awards, winning more than 100 duels without a single defeat.

During his studies, several of his works were published, in which Triwizard Tournament participated, among the three most prestigious schools of magic of the Hot Isles, winning overwhelmingly.

Every year before the end of the second semester he published a revolutionary thesis.

The first focused on the right way to create wands, creating magical cores from specific creatures, that work changed the method of making wands making them powerful and faithful tools for life.

The second thesis, a new system to create potions that have eradicated certain diseases, allowed homosexual couples to bear children of their own and rejuvenate by a few decades. "Amity paused for a moment taking a quick look at Eda who looks younger than she is. it should be.

"The third thesis, talked about the human Magus' practice of creating a Magic Crest to pass it on to the heir. It explained how it is possible for the witches of the Hot Isles to create their own variant of the Magic Crest to pass on to their children, granting an increase of the magical power and knowledge as the generations pass.

The fourth thesis, discusses spellwork dealing with long distance magic, is so complex that few can understand it.

All these feats allowed Charlotte Adler to graduate at the very young age of 16, in the same year I was admitted to Ars Magus here. "Amity recounted, enthusiastically, right up to the mention of joining Ars Magus when her idol she's gone.

"She must be fantastic to do all these things once she graduates from which Coven did she join?" Luz asked, starting to take an interest in Amity's idol.

"After she graduated from high school, all the leaders of the major covenants tried to get her to join them. Emperor Belos personally invited her to join his coven, you know what he replied?" Amity asked, looking like she was about to explode.

"I don't know, what did he answer?" Luz asked, they suspect a twist would have happened.

"He declined Belos' invitation, telling him he doesn't want to join any Coven, preferring to create his own Guild or Cabal." Eda replied knowing this story very well.

'I wonder how the girl will react if she finds out that her idol, Charlotte Adler is actually my crazy owl, one of the most hated by Belos for several reasons.

Just like with the wand, he wanted to go to a real school of magic and could no longer tolerate my teaching method.

Luz also did something similar at the start of her apprenticeship, but she returns home later with a couple of friends.

Gudrun took it to an extreme, as always, being brought home by Juebi was a new thing, especially when the swordsman cat proposed to help Gudrun not get caught, as well as teaching them how to use a sword.

I remember saying something like this: You will not go to any school to be indoctrinated. If you want to go to a school so badly, you can only do it if you are admitted to the best school in the islands, this time it will be impossible. For you too. Because it's a girls' school that hasn't accepted kids for 100 years.

In my defense who knew that the boy was studying his brother Loki's shapeshifting powers, managing to obtain a weakened version of his abilities and using it to pretend to be a girl and that he would enter the school through magic duels and punches. ' Eda thought, remembering how a single Gudrun adventure has brought about a lot of changes over the years.

"It seems to have been a historic moment. The best witch of the most prestigious school refuses green in the face of the emperor, Charlotte Adler must have guts." Luz stated, wanting to be there to see how it really happened.

'You have no idea what that boy can do.' Eda and Jubei thought, knowing that their magic / sword pupil can be a natural magnet for disasters and strange happenings.

"I would have liked to be there, but that day I was sick. I would have asked why to refuse the emperor himself, all the others would have accepted the supervisor in a second, instead she suddenly refused?" Asked Amity, not understanding some of her idol's choices, oddly enough that she turned down the highest authority figure in the Hot Isles and doing the opposite of what everyone expected is admirable for Amity.

"You know I was there. I remember perfectly well how it went, word for word, do you want me to tell you?" Jubei asked, sounding like an old man telling stories to his grandchildren.

" Yup !" Luz and Amity shouted, wanting to know what happened that day.

XXX

A few years ago in the past.

The annual meeting was taking place.

It is normally a day in which student witches can see all kinds of coven before being put into one.

But today is not a normal day, the celebrated Charlotte Adler has just graduated from the Academia Ars Magus and is "looking for a coven to join here."

Virtually everyone is trying to get the attention of Charlotte Adler who looks like an elven version of Saber aka Arthuria Pendragon, much more feminine and mature.

The representatives of the main Covenants are revolving around the witch prodigy like a piranha with a piece of meat.

In the midst of all this chaos, Charlotte Adler remains unperturbed, waiting for something to happen or for a specific person to show up.

Suddenly the "recruiters" stopped harassing the witch prodigy, because two very people showed up.

Lilith Clawthorne and the emperor Belos.

Lilith is a tall, slim middle-aged woman in her mid to late 40s. She has white skin, pointed ears, dark blue lips, long dark blue hair, and mint green eyes. It also has dark claw-like nails. She wears a two-tone long-sleeved dark gray suit and dark gray lace-up boots. She also carries a heavenly gem in the shape of an inverted kite located on her sternum, attached to her dress.

Beside Lilith is Belos, a tall and helpless man, wearing a mask with two long horns pointing upwards. His eyes are empty through the mask, creating the impression of having empty eye sockets. He wears a large white and brown cape with gold trim.

"Miss Adler is an honor to meet you in person. The best witch that the Academia Ars Magus has ever produced in the entire history of the school." He waved goodbye to the masked emperor as the crowd discreetly departs, leaving room for the big shots.

"Emperor Belos, you do not have to compliment me, it is a fact that I am the best, dwelling on them only makes us waste time.

So let's get straight to the point, skipping the pleasantries, you want me to join your Coven. "Charlotte Adler said, knowing that there is no other reason that can convince Belos to step out of his fortress.

"You're right I want your services, your thesis on spellwork is a masterpiece, I've never read anything like it." Belos said, directly complimenting the witch prodigy in public, something unprecedented.

"If you joined me, you would have only the best resources for your research, you would make great discoveries for the good of all the inhabitants of the Hot Isles." He proposed Belos, wanting to get Charlotte Adler's services for his Coven.

"Surely if I joined your side and became your mad scientist I would cause an unprecedented industrial and magical revolution.

It would be so tempting to take Lilith's place and become the Coven Leader before my sixteenth birthday. I wonder what you would do once you were demoted to the position of my assistant / secretary. "Charlotte Adler said, with a mischievous smile, casting an intense look at Lilith who realizes she is being targeted.

"Does that mean you agree to join us?" Asked Lilith, try to look sociable and minimally threatening from the gaze of the prodigious witch.

"No, I don't like men and you might be pretty in your stern emo way, but you're too old and you don't fit my type." Charlotte Adler replied, joking with Lilith, treating the recruitment as a kind of appointment request.

"You are young and talented, but that does not excuse the lack of respect towards me and the Emperor Belos." He scolded Lilith, starting to see a little bit of Eda in the prodigious witch who has so far performed flawlessly according to her preliminary investigation.

"Respect must be earned unassumed." Charlotte Adler stated, practically challenging Lilith's authority.

"Joining the Coven of the Emperor is too easy, serving in the elite forces may be the dream of many. But I am not like everyone else, I am a more unique than rare case.

I have a dream, joining you would certainly give me unmatched resources, but there would be so many obligations and responsibilities that it would prevent me from accomplishing my goal. "Charlotte Adler explained, enthusiastically, saying that her dream is more important than mere material resources.

"What kind of dream would you turn down such a once in a lifetime opportunity for?" Lilith asked, not believing what the prodigious witch is saying. Refuse the honor and privilege of joining the elite of the elite in favor of following a dream.

"I want to get all the magic and gain a true understanding of everything in this world. The first to mix blue and yellow called the new color" green. "I want to do something similar. If blue is magic, then the yellow is the glyph and green is the spell ... Just as there is no end to the variety of colors, there are so many thousands ... even tens of thousands of spells in the world. But to get every possible technique and truth it would take an eternity. Only the one who understands everything after spending so much time on it can rightly be called the Ultimate Being. " Charlotte Adler explained, making a profound speech and explaining part of her motivations.

"What is that supposed to mean !?" Lilith asked, not understanding what the prodigious witch is saying, becoming more and more problematic with every word.

"Miss Adler aims to learn every single spell that has ever existed and must exist." He declared Emperor Belos, managing to grasp Charlotte Adler's speech on the quest for the secrets of the world.

"You understood my ambition at the first shot, which is why I give you the opportunity to get my services.

See, I like challenges. In the Hot Isles, there are only nine people who can hope to stand up to me:

The Three Clawthorne composed of a Raven, an Owl and a Snake with bat wings.

Dr. Franken Stein, the strongest scythe master, the ultimate demon and witch hunter, wanted for killing hundreds of witches and thousands of demons.

Relius Clover, the mad puppeteer, the most wanted and dangerous man in the Hot Isles for his terrible crimes and experiments.

The enigmatic Alastor, the Demon of the Radio, capable of praying reality to its will.

Nine the Phantom aka Konoe Ayatsuki Mercury, historically known as the Great Magister Nine.

Her husband, Jubei, also known as the One-Eyed Lotus, the most powerful swordsman in the world.

The rebellious daughter of Jubei and Nine, Professor Kokonoe Mercury, a true ghost to us all, but being the daughter of the witch and the strongest swordsman she must also be very powerful.

Finally, you Emperor Belos, the mysterious ruler of the Hot Isles. "Charlotte Adler listed the list of the nine most powerful and dangerous people who ever set foot in the Hot Isles, expressing a desire to fight opponents of this caliber.

" What do you want ?" Lilith asked, tightening her grip on her staff, seriously considering using force to put some respect in Charlotte Adler's head.

"Simple, I want a duel against a worthy opponent, hard to be recognized as the strongest if you can't fight and defeat the nine strongest characters in the Hot Isles." Charlotte Adler said, with a smile so gentle it was scary, pulling out a quantum of defiance and throwing at the feet of Lilith and Belos.

"You want to fight Belos!" Lilith screamed, not believing how crazy and daring this prodigious witch is.

The audience that has been listening so far seems on the verge of fainting or running away.

The most prodigious witch in the history of the Academia Ars Magus has just challenged one of the two most magically and politically powerful people of the entire Boiling Islands.

"Honestly I care little if he faced the head of the coven of the emperor or the emperor himself, I want to measure myself against a worthy opponent.

If I lose, I will work for you until Charlotte Adler's life is over.

If I win, I want permission to found my personal Coven, indeed my unique Kabbalah, focused on the research and development of new magic, to complete this goal I need the privilege of being able to use all kinds of magic, as you do. " Charlotte Adler explained, circling Lilith and Belos, like a cat watching a mouse, waiting for his move.

"You're daring too much!" Lilith shouted, pointing her cane at the prodigious witch.

"Little Crow I just started, I'm telling my price and my terms." Charlotte Adler responded by pointing her wand at Lilith.

The situation is moving into a critical zone that can easily end in a magical shooting and / or duel between two of the most powerful witches ever.

The person who defused the situation was the least likely.

"He accepted the conditions. Charlotte Adler tomorrow you will face Lilith Clawthorne. If you win I will give permission to create your Cabal, if you lose you will become my right hand." Belos stated, coming that playing Charlotte Adler's game is the only way to get her services.

Forcing or using force can turn her against him, such an intelligent and skillful witch can become a huge problem if provoked.

Especially when this witch is such a well-known public figure in a crowded area full of witnesses.

There is a reason why Nine the Phantom and Belos didn't destroy each other here, each of them agreed that staying neutral towards each other is the best way.

" Done deal." Charlotte Adler said, with a complacent smile on her face, shaking hands with Belos's hand. Simultaneously a green fire appeared around the handshake between the prodigious witch and the masked emperor, forming a kind of knot.

"My last thesis is about spellwork magic. The next one is about studying and altering pacts of demonic origin, they are so similar to our methods of making an eternal pact, only much more subtle.

Head of the Coven of the Emperor, see you tomorrow at twelve o'clock in the Colosseum, preparations to have your wings broken little crow. "Replied Charlotte Adler, snapping her fingers to disappear in a small flash of bright light.

XXX

Here I'm.

"After that there was a huge duel. Charlotte Adler VS Lilith Clawthorne. Luckily I bet a fortune on Charlotte Adler. My sister fought tooth and nail, but she was defeated spectacularly and I earned a nice sum of money. money." Eda said, taking over Jubei's story.

"After her victory, Charlotte Adler founded the Cabal, Nolava. A relatively small group of members here only know three names. Charlotte Adler, Kokonoe Mercury, Iron Tager." He went on to explain Eda, telling who are the three most famous members of this Cabal.

"Charlotte Adler is reputed to be the best living witch, and one of the greatest geniuses of all time. Highly versed in the magical arts, she can stand up to the best coven masters." Jubei stated, giving his impartial opinion.

"The Cabala Nolava, spends most of their time in isolated places doing their experiments, they only come in public for three events:

Publish the results of their research to the general public.

Participate in major competitions with large sums of money as a prize.

Finally, they sell their very high quality artifacts to the people through their shop, La Dame Mystérieuse, which only opens for a few months a year. "Eda said, explained the main events in which Cabal Nolava members appear.

"If the shop is only open a few months a year and Charlotte Adler's Cabal are acting like hermits, how do you sell Charlotte Adler's wands?" Luz asked, hoping Eda won't answer that it contains the word scam and / or theft.

"Simple, they are on good terms with several that they are closely related with

Kokonoe Mercury, Charlotte Adler's Deputy. In exchange for some occasional favors they give me failures and incomplete products to sell. "Eda replied, relieving Luz's heart that she doesn't have to worry about an OP witch coming to the Owl House for revenge.

"Failures!" Luz shouted, not believing that such expensive and sought-after wands are failures.

"You mean all my classmates brag about having wands made by Charlotte Adler, but are they really failures or incomplete work ?!" Amity yelled, having a pretty overreaction upon discovering this detail.

"Yep, Charlotte Adler's standards are so high what she considers a failure, we consider it a top-level masterpiece of magical craftsmanship." Eda replied, finding it ridiculous that such a talented person has absurd standards in the comforts of her relationship.

"Anyway, here's your book." Amity said, taking the Azura 5 book out of her bag and hands it to Luz.

"Thanks. So, what do you think?" Luz asked, as she picks up her book, hoping Amity will love the fifth volume.

"It was nice." He has Amity, turning to hide her opinion from a comparable fangirl to Luz.

Luz flipping through the book looking for possible damage, notices something in her book.

Luz stops to find a notebook page inside with a drawing of an Amity dressed as Hecate accompanied by a Luz dressed as Azura.

"Amity you're so good at drawing. Maybe one day we can dress up as a couple for Halloween, if the Hot Isles are celebrating Halloween?" Luz said in a low voice, folding the drawing twice and handing it to Amity.

Amity blushes before quickly grabbing the drawing, tucking it into her bag to hide from Jubei's gaze.

"You didn't see anything!" Amity whispered as Luz stops leaning forward.

"Maybe we can start a book club. Azura Book Club? Azura Book Club!" Luz cheered, really wanting to have a book club with Amity.

"As long as it's a secret club, okay?" Amity whispered with red cheeks of embarrassment.

"For our first Secret Club reunion, we can talk about this, The Good Witch Azula and The Magical Swordsman Rojo." Luz said, taking out the book that just got pardon at Eda and Owlbert's portal.

"I don't believe it, thinking this book was just going to be fandom discussion for years. One of my little dreams just came true, Azula teams up with Rojo." Amity said, taking the book from Luz, turning it over to read the plot behind the book.

"A simple day of Azura is turned upside down when his mentor, Ida, tells him of an ancient ruin that holds the secrets of the ancient Runes.

Azura takes her trusted friend, Kong, is in vain to explore the ruins, finding an ancient portal to explore distant worlds.

At the same time a confrontation between Rojo and Niak Makor creates an omni-dimensional energy pulse that activates the portal of ruins without warning.

Azura and Kong end up in the city of Wen-Kroy, where Rojo is hunting down a terrible demon and its summoner.

Will Azura and Rojo together manage to join forces to defeat the great evil and find a way back for Azura? "Amity has finished reading the story, desperately wanting to start reading the volume, but it doesn't belong to her, so she hands it over to Luz.

"It looks like a beautiful volume, once you have finished reading it can you lend it to me?" Amity asked, trying to make some big puppy eyes that could make Luz's heart explode.

"You know one thing I don't know very well, The Magical Swordsman Rojo saga. Until I finish researching him, I could leave the book with you." He suggested Luz, willing to lend the book to Amity who is a fan of both series of books.

"Luz, among the garbage I found other books, the entire collection of The Magical Swordsman Rojo and a couple of the special volume with Azula and Rojo." King said, finally coming out of the tent carrying a backpack full of books.

"Thank you very much, King, you are one of my best friends. Thanks to you, both Amity and I can read the special volume and discuss the new book properly." Luz said, happy as ever, giving a tight hug to King, who pretends to hate him but loves him instead.

"It's nice to see you light-hearted with your friend, but we came here to get a high-quality wand of your own." Jubei said, smiling at the sight of a carefree Amity, reminding them of the good days when Kokonoe was a smiling little girl.

"Thanks for stopping them, their lovely moment is slowly making me sick." Eda said, not putting up with the cheesy stuff, especially when both people don't realize what they're doing.

"Eda, a wand for Mittens?" Jubei asked, wanting to get what he came for.

Eda reaches out to take a cardboard box full of chopsticks, but is stopped by Jubei's words: a real high-quality wand.

"I keep them for a special occasion, but you are Luz's friend, and Jubei finds you nice, I think I can give you a real wand made by Charlotte Adler herself, of course for a fair price." Eda said, trying not to look too big, pulling out a white metal box with gold flower details and a long tape measure.

"What is the arm of your wand?" Eda asked, reluctantly. To give a high-level wand compatible the user must take certain measures.

Amity held out her right arm.

The Owl Lady has taken the tape measure and measures her arm in so many different ways that Luz has lost count.

Eda opens the box and starts examining the wands looking for the right one for Amity, a necessary task because no two wands are the same as no two are identical.

"Here, try this. Cherry wood and werewolf heart. Eleven inches. Flexible." Eda said, giving the wand to Amity.

Amity took her wand and waved it around feeling incredibly silly, accidentally setting fire to a pigeon she wanted nearby, now there is a roasted pigeon standing on the street ready to be eaten by someone with poor sanity.

Eda tries not to laugh at Amity's damn, just takes her wand and hands over a new one.

"Oakwood and pegasus feathers. Ten inches, stiff. Try it, but don't set something on fire this time." Eda said, amused by the failed attempts to find a compatible wand.

Amity waves her wand which responds badly to Amity's will, throwing a beam that freezes that to kill a second pigeon.

"Luz, does your friend hate birds?" Eda asked in a mocking tone, giving Luz a friendly nudge.

While Amity turns red from the embarrassment of her mistakes.

"Don't be ashamed Amity, from what I understand it's hard to find the right wand. The third time is the lucky one, why don't you try this one?" Luz said, grabbing a very elaborate purple wand with a green and white handle from the box, handing it to Amity with a reassuring smile on her lips.

"This is one of the newest, best ribs and best drumsticks Charlotte Adler has ever made, there are only two examples.

If I remember correctly it is made from the wood of an ancient Asgard tree, the handle and tip are created from the fangs of an Uru-infused basilisk, soaked in the tears of a phoenix and the core belongs to an elderly Thunderbird. "Eda explained. , listing the rarer components behind the creation of this wand that looks like a work of art.

"I didn't understand much, but I understand enough that it's an amazing wand made for an amazing person. Try it now, Amity!" Luz said, wanting to see how her friend masters this wand.

Amity closes her eyes, takes a short inhale, then opens, raising her wand ready to perform a spell. This time he immediately feels a shock in his fingers.

Blue and silver sparks shot out of the tip and slowly rained down on them like sparkling raindrops.

Luz started clapping loudly smiling happily, while Eda smiles satisfied, says in a low voice: "My crazy little owl one of your masterpieces finally arrived in the right hand."

Amity puts the wand and the pair of the special volume with Azula and Rojo, inside her bag. Then he takes out a bag full of coins and hands it to Eda.

"Now, I understand why wands are so important to young strege. I also learned who Charlotte Adler is, but who he is." Luz asked, pointing her finger at the cat creature, not knowing who he is, knowing only that he was named by Charlotte as one of the nine strongest inhabitants of the Boiling Isles.

"You're a bad teacher to Luz, at least you're a decent grandmother or mother." Amity stated, criticizing Eda for Luz's ignorance of the important figures of the Hot Isles.

'This is the umpteenth time that Eda is mistaken as my grandmother or mother. Could this be related to the magical basement workshop, the unwanted person nominal and the third Clawthorne a Bat-winged Serpent mentioned in Jubei's tale? ' Luz thought, starting to put all the pieces of the puzzle together to solve the mystery.

"The feline appearance of the venerable Jubei belies his true age of beast which he lived for over a century. Having seen the world before Belos' rule, during and certainly after him.

Although he looks like a simple house cat, Jubei is the strongest living creature in existence and the most powerful swordsman. "Amity said, giving a brief introduction to Jubei.

"Jubei is also the husband of the dean of the Academia Ars Magus and one of the reasons why you are going to the Academia Ars Magus here." Eda explained, giving the really important facts to Luz and not all the rumors about Jubei.

"He owed me a couple of favors for helping him sort things out with his wayward daughter. Thanks to her help, the paperwork was done in record time and we didn't have to put you on the waiting list." Eda said, not going into too much detail on what her help with Jubei's daughter consists of, because a certain Olympic Demigod is also involved in that.

"I sincerely thank you, participating in the Academia Ars Magus is one of my dreams." Luz said, thanking Jubei for helping her get into her dream school.

"Wait, what do you mean, Luz?" Amity asked, slightly confused, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Surprise! I am enrolling in the Academia Ars Magus! We would be in the same class and we will learn together to do new magic." Luz said, pulling out a second booklet from the school of magic and confetti to increase the effect of her surprise.

"Luz, I'm sorry, tell you but even with Eda's recommendation and a good word from Jubei, it would be impossible to attend my class.

See, if you don't know at least four intermediate-level spells, you won't be allowed into the fourth year where Willow and I are.

If you only know one spell you will be sent with first year students who are ten or worse in kindergarten. "Amity said, in a sad tone, taking Luz's pamphlet and showing the section to divide students according to the level of their ability and not of age.

"Four spells? Sorted by abilities?" Luz muttered, her eyes narrowing from the knowledge that she had learned a single spell, it's nothing high-level, just the magical equivalent of a torch.

"I know you have your thing with the ball of light. Please tell me that you know anything else? I would love to have you in my class." Amity asked, hoping that Eda taught Luz something useful for once.

"Pff. Yeah. Of course I know four spells!" Luz said, starting to laugh nervously.

"I have an idea, I have to learn how to use my new wand. Maybe we can train together? What do you say, Luz?" Amity asked, hoping she could help Luz finish her class for sure.

"Uh, actually, I have other training plans in a far away place and I have to pack my bags right now." Luz replied, running into the tent to hide from Amity.

"This is also strange for Luz. Venerable Jubei thank you for helping me, see you at the start of the new semester." He said goodbye to Amity, before leaving Eda's shop, to a training ground to see what her new wand is capable of.

"Wow, a surprisingly peaceful domestic moment. When will it be ruined?" Eda asked with an ironic tone knowing that Luz is about to go out and make a scene.

"Edaaaa! Eda, Eda! Eda! Now you have to teach me a new spell!" Luz shouted, running out of the tent, somehow managing to stumble and fall to the ground.

"Are you hurt, Luz !?" Eda asked, helping Luz to get up, hoping nothing important broke.

"I'm fine, but I need to know four intermediate level spells to get into decent classes at Academia Ars Magus. I can make glyphs of light." Luz said, pulling out a pre-prepared glyph, activates the glyph which transforms into a sphere of light that made Eda shield her eyes before vanishing.

"Aah!" Eda gems of pain due to the bright light.

"But at the end of the day, this is the only spell I know!" Luz said, starting to whimper.

"And whose fault is it?" Eda asked, putting a hand on her hip as she looks at Luz.

" Your !" Luz replied, pointing to the magic teacher who taught no magic, only life lessons and how to cheat.

"Ah! Yes, you took me there" Eda said, starting to giggle.

"Teach me a spell now. Any spell! It can be the darkest evil." Luz said, in a deep voice and a disturbing look.

"Well, I've been looking for my lyrics on wild magic, but I'm too busy right now with selling wands." Eda said, wanting to take advantage of the moment to earn more money as long as possible.

"Come on Eda! You are the most powerful witch in the Hot Isles. What would it be like if your apprentice was thrown into the children's class?" Luz said, knowing which buttons she has to tap to get Eda to teach her properly.

"Hmm, arm my pride, well played. Well, in that case, it looks like I have to get the chest full of magic books out of the basement." Eda said, knowing that her little Crazy Owl keeps a chest full of books and personal notes on Runes, Glyphs and all sorts of magic that relies on writing.

"I'm sure you will. Your grandmother is one of the best graduates of the Academia Ars Magus, having been the second best potion expert in the history of the school." Jubei said, trying to lift Luz's mood.

"You definitely don't look like Gudrun, but it's not surprising a 1/3 human father and a fully human woman, probably all non-human traits are yet to come out.

But you behave like him and show the same inclination towards magic from the Glyphs, once he returns on your travels he will surely teach you the secrets of the Primordial Runes or the combination of the Glyphs to cast more complex spells. "Jubei said, giving further clues. and explaining that Luz should combine more glyphs to get a better result.

"Jubei, there must be a misunderstanding, Eda is not my grandmother and who should be that person who has to teach me the secrets of the Runes and the Glyphs?" Luz asked, coming very close to understanding one of Eda's secrets.

"I apologize, thinking you were Gudrun's daughter. Then I correct myself, I'm sure your mother can help you, she's not a Rune and Glyph expert like your uncle, but I'm sure you can find something in her notes." Jubei apologized for the confusion, inadvertently giving Luz a name.

"She isn't my kid!" Eda replied, not tolerating a second being confused as her son.

Eda's words emotionally hurt Luz's little heart, which gave a gasp of pain.

"I'm not your kid?" Luz asked in a pained voice, with wet eyes, very little is needed to make her burst into tears.

"Yes! I mean ... no! I ... not biologically!" Eda replied, looking for a middle way to tell Jubei that she never gave birth, but that she considers Luz as a daughter.

"I find that very hard to believe. What are the odds that both of your apprentices are half-humans with an innate talent for glyphs." Jubei replied, raising an eyebrow at the sight of Eda ruffling Luz's hair in apology.

"You may not be the mother, but you could technically be the father. Your former apprentice every time he visits you does not leave behind a large supply of potions. Surely there is a potion among them that makes you a temporary pseudo-male.

Knowing you it is not impossible that you enjoyed yourself as a man, with a human woman.

Years later you found out that you had fathered a daughter and decided to make up for lost time. "Jubei said, explaining a theory about why Eda to a daughter that no one has ever known until a month ago.

Eda hearing this not-so-impossible theory froze for a moment, considering how many she wants to use the potion to become a pseudo-male and have fun in the human world ...

There was once an adventure in Las Vegas with a man named Stan who lives in a small town in Oregon.

But in all other cases, many women benefited from Eda's presence for just one night.

"I'll pretend I haven't heard this theory." Eda said, trying not to think about taking a paternity test.

"I'm sure Gudrun will be delighted to have a little sister and teach her how to use glyphs." Jubei commented, confident that when Luz and Gudrun meet they will be good friends.

"Eda, I want to know all your dark backstory about your son! I didn't even know you had one!

The basement must be his personal room and laboratory, probably part of the Nolava Cabal and providing you with wands to sell, right? "Luz asked, putting all the pieces together to get a clear picture of the situation.

"I can't hide it anymore. Luz, before you I had another apprentice his name is Gudrun Odinson / Demetrason.

Just like you, he was confused like my son, it didn't help that he was half human, having golden eyes and silver hair.

So he ended up being known as Gudrun "Frostrom" Clawthorne or the Winged Serpent. "Eda said, starting to tell how she met Gudrun and how he ended up living with her for a long time.

Followed by some of their misadventures with his nocturnal run in search of Luna Nova's lost wand or setting fire to the Necron forest for seven days and seven nights.

"And I thought I had problems with parents. My predecessor had an incredibly strict father, an older brother who outshines him, being adopted, finding out that he is partly human and being cursed does not help him." Luz said, starting to feel that her problems with her mother are less colossal than before.

"Why didn't you tell me about him before?" Luz asked, wanting to know why she hasn't talked about her former apprentice so far.

"I didn't want you to compare yourself to him or feel like you lived in his shadow. When I was little my parents told me I was more like Lilith or why I can't get the same grades as Lilith. I didn't want you to pass such a thing. . " Eda explained one of the reasons why she wasn't talking about her former pupil here, not wanting Luz to try to get past Gudrun or feel like a replacement.

"What is my predecessor like?" Luz asked, wanting to know more about Eda's first pupil.

"That crazy little owl is one of the most problematic, complicated and weird guys I've ever met.

In the house she was practically the ultimate housewife / handyman, in order not to get bored she did all sorts of chores around the house, especially creating traps, reinforcing defenses and making the Owl House self-sufficient.

He is the reason here we have a fountain, a poultry, a barn, a pond, a beehive, a garden, an evening, a defensive barrier, dozens of golems and guard automata, surely there are several defensive systems that do not I know. "Eda explained, saying that all the extra work Luz has to do is because of Gudrun almost turning the Owl House into a heavily armed magical farm of sorts.

"I knew you weren't the type to take pets and farm animals." Luz exclaimed, knowing Eda is not the kind of person to look after farm animals.

"Thank goodness he also created a dozen domestic golems to look after the house and the animals' needs." Eda commented, not knowing what she would have to do if she had to look after the animals in person.

"The boy is crazy and paranoid enough to fill the entire forest with self-regenerating traps and all sorts of monstrosities that can be created in a laboratory.

Luckily the traps are only activated if you have malicious intent against the inhabitants of the Owl House, if not for that I doubt there would be another living being in the forest besides the three of us. "Eda said, in an exasperated tone, remembering how many times asked Gudrun to stop building death contraptions.

But he did not listen in the least and kept filling the forest with traps to the point that only the idiots, the desperate and the witches who want his head dare to approach.

"Everyone has a pastime, but this seems ridiculous to me, filling a forest with traps. Although in a way it is admirable that he has succeeded in such a feat." Luz commented, wondering what might motivate him to make such an extreme gesture.

"Admirable? I called him crazy, paranoid, pessimistic. And I had many reasons for doing it."

Inside a laboratory he acted like a mad scientist. He did all sorts of experiments on magic and science, finding all sorts of ways to combine them.

Honestly, the line between genius and madness is so thin that he didn't realize how many times he crossed it and came back only to cross it again. "Eda said, plotting lightly, she doesn't want to admit it but some of Gudrun's experiments scare her.

"That's why you never talked about the basement, are you afraid that it will be eaten by an old scientific / magical experiment?." Luz asked, moved that Eda cares about her well-being even if she doesn't show it freely.

"Let's go talk in private." Eda said, grabbing Luz's hand and leading her to speak inside their tent.

XXX

Once inside, Eda began to confide in Luz: "I think Gudrun could be a bad influence for you."

"haaaaaaaaa!" Luz started laughing when she heard Eda from all the people talking about bad influence and negative examples.

Stopping when he noticed that Eda's serious expression hasn't changed in the least, it has become more serious with each passing moment.

"Are you serious? Eda, Mrs. Owl, do you worry that I can get a bad example by just rummaging through her stuff?" Luz asked, taken aback by this side of Eda.

"That basement is not just his room and laboratory, but his lair filled with all his trophies and evidence of his achievements.

You are a good girl who dreams of becoming a witch, easily impressionable, with a big pure heart who wants to help people. You would be doomed in no time if left alone in her company. "Eda said, in a serious tone, pausing to find the right words to move on.

"Gudrun is a person who could become the greatest magus / scientist of all time, but dream of becoming a hero.

Several times I saw him go out at night wearing a cloak and a mask, only to return to the dawn as if nothing had happened. But sometimes he returned with severe wounds that were hidden under the illusion of a healthy body.

When Gudrun discovered my curse out of a sense of gratitude or affection, he spent weeks perfecting his potions to help me.

But when my condition got worse and the normal potions didn't work ... "Eda paused a second by second, clearly remembering what happened that night, and she doesn't like it at all.

"He did the unthinkable, he infiltrated the castle of Belos to get an ancient recipe book of potions. It was discovered by Belos himself.

The confrontation between the two was a disastrous event that destroyed the entire imperial castle.

In the confrontation Belos lost his right arm and Gudrun almost lost his life, only thanks to Alastor's intervention was he able to escape alive with the ancient recipe book. "Eda's eyes began to fill with tears, having to sit on a chair because his legs are becoming moles.

"When I returned to normal, the first thing I saw was a badly injured little boy with completely shattered eyes.

Instead of crying or cursing my meeting, she smiled happily that I became myself again.

This image of a little boy I took in on a whim, willing to throw his life away and be mutilated unchanged for me, will chase me to the grave. "Eda said, almost on the verge of tears from the traumatic memory.

Luz seeing how Eda feels, I don't think much about giving a tight hug to her teacher who is becoming a kind of second mother.

"Miraculously something happened that I can't explain, but because of the artificial eyes that saved him from living the rest of his life blind." Eda said, in a bittersweet tone, delighted that Gudrun has recovered her sight, but she can no longer look him in the eye without remembering how nearly lost her.

"Luz, I'm afraid you might end up like Gudrun.

My crazy little owl, possessing an irresistible charismatic, an unwavering will and a silver tongue, can easily lure people to Chase him in all sorts of dangerous endeavors.

He attracts people like a sun, but when you fly too close to the sun you risk burning.

I can easily see you making friends with him.

I see you learning all his tricks regarding Glyphs and Runes.

I see you as your dream of becoming a great witch changes to become a great witch helping people, a heroic witch.

I see how you start putting on a ridiculous costume and chasing it into danger.

Most of all I see you risking your life with him for my sake, I can't live with knowing you could die just to break my curse.

My life isn't worth that much! "Eda confessed the real reason why she hadn't told Luz about her first apprentice here.

The Owl Lady is sure that Luz is already ready to go crazy for the sake of a loved one, the only thing preventing her from running straight into danger is the lack of magical skills and / or combat.

But with Gudrun's influence and teachings, Luz could quickly become a witch about as strong as Amity, over time she could reach or surpass the level of her teacher.

This would be a great thing, were it not that Luz would use that power to protect people by starting with family and friends, slowly coming to take an entire city under her protection.

And of one thing she is sure, heroes die young and rarely have a happy ending. Gudrun has nearly died several times due to his ideals. Luz shouldn't end up on the same path as her first apprentice, only one hero in the family is enough.

"Eda, I have never seen you so vulnerable, I am touched that you care so much for me, you are a second mother to me. I cannot promise that I will not put myself in danger or that I will not help a friend in need, but I will try to do my best and always return to the Owl House. " Luz said, starting to cry too, as she hugs Eda tightly.

XXX

After the tear-jerking moment between daughter and mother, Eda and Luz have emerged from the tent, ready to pack their bags and return to the Owl House, because after this emotional ordeal Eda needs a break.

"Jubei, I see you're still here, normally I'd like to talk to you. But now I just want to go home and have a good sleep." Eda said, in an obviously tired tone, wanting to drink a glass of apple blood and get some sleep.

"I have a message for you from an old friend of mine, Rachel Alucard, about your baby." Jubei said, revealing the real reason for his visit.

"In the name of Titan, what did my crazy little owl do this time to get the attention of a millennial hermit vampire !?" Eda asked, in an exasperated tone, becoming seeks that it will not be the curse or the coven of the emperor that will kill her, but concern for the health of her little chicks.

"Do you know that Gudrun was born with an abnormal arm?" Jubei said, mentioning a fact more or less known to everyone who saw Gudrun in short sleeves.

"Yes, he calls him, Devil Buster, it allowed him to do several interesting tricks.

Merlin explained to me that I got it because during the birth there were "complications" caused by the demons and this had a small side effect on him.

It was of the reasons here her mother gave her to Merlin, who then handed her over to Odin and Frigga. "Explained Eda, recounting one of the reasons as to why Gudrun was not raised or at least once visited by Demeter or a member of Olympus. .

Luz hearing the name of Merlin, Odin and Frigga of mythological and legendary beings, was about to ask a lot of questions. But remembering that Eda is not in the best condition, emotionally speaking, she decides she can ask questions later.

"Rachel, I am told that Gudrun sacrificed the Devil Buster to speak with an alchemical deity, The Truth, gaining the full knowledge of every alchemical system he knows." Jubei said, in a serious tone, also having trouble understanding that there is some kind of sentient force of Alchemy.

"Alchemical deity are you kidding me?" Eda asked, raising an eyebrow, hearing about many strange things in her life and seeing more bizarre living several summers with the troubled Olympic Demigod.

"Gudrun himself told me that Demeter and her fellows are just alien spaceships that have created bodies of Mechanical Gods to play with humans.

Even the Asgardians are only very powerful and long-lived magical creatures from a distant world, they too play at you will worship by humans. "Explained Eda, saying that the so-called" Gods "are just more magical creatures. powerful of others and enjoy making fun of weaker people.

"You didn't say that you saw that night ..." Jubei is about to say something, but he was interrupted by Eda pointing her stick at him.

"I saw nothing but a patch of golden light, it could have been a fairy, those beings have always had a thing for Gudrun." Eda said, denying seeing anything unexplainable on the night the Olympic Demigod obtained new divine-level artificial eyes.

"Whichever being asked for an arm in payment made Gudrun an Omni-Master of Alchemy. This intrigued Rachel enough to invite him to her Castle." Jubei explained, saying that the millennial hermit vampire came out of her self-imposed exile just to get to know Gudrun.

" What happened ?" Eda asked, partly curious and partly worried, when great players enter the scene, something bad always happens for those who fit into their schemes.

"Rachel, she didn't tell me the details just that Gudrun received a suitable replacement for his loss and in time he would get the Devil Buster back." Said Jubei, completely unaware that the Olympic demigod earned the title of Bloodedge, along with the BlazBlue and the sword Aramasa.

" Something else ?" Eda asked, wanting to know how her crazy little owl is doing, who hasn't sent a "letter" or a "phone call" in over a month.

"He told me that Gudrun is aiming to kill a being comparable to the Titan we live on here and his 20 creations from here only three have awakened from sleep." Jubei explained, having no other information besides the objective comparable to the labors of Hercules.

"Luz, you just became my favorite little girl, why don't you go out at night to fight crime, because you're not suicidal, you're not willingly looking for trouble, and you're not aiming to give me a heart attack." Eda said, addressing Luz directly, receiving an affectionate pat on the head and the title of favorite child.

"Jubei, don't think about leaving after you have given me this news. You will tell me everything you know, even if it costs you to tear off your fur and wear it, stop a dress." Eda said, pointing her staff at Jubei's throat who seems minimally disturbed or worried.

"Got it, I'm not going anywhere." Jubei replied, knowing from his long experience with Nine that an angry witch can be very harmful to a man's health if provoked.

"Luz, take King and Owlbert is back at the Owl House. I'm staying for a long chat with Jubei." Eda said, not wanting the little ones to hear a serious "chat" between two "civilized" adults.

"Is it my magic lessons?" Luz asked, not forgetting her spell problem that she has to learn to get into Willow and Amity's class.

Eda reminding Luz that in need of a quick magic lesson, she starts poking her hand through her wild hair, looking for a specific item.

"Found! Luz, here is a magical book written and created by Gudrun, it should contain several theories, explanations and tricks on the magic of the Boiling Isles and other magical systems from distant realms.

The book was a gift to me, the first few chapters should explain in detail how the Glyphs and Runes work.

I never needed it, because I prefer my kind of magic and not the complicated and exotic stuff that Gudrun studies. But I'm sure it will help you. "Eda said, with a vain smile on her face, handing the book to Luz who grabs it as if it were the most precious treasure in the world.

"Read the book, practice a little, but stay calm and don't mess around. Once I get back I'll help you learn more." Eda said, kissing Luz on the forehead and handing over her cane to take her home.

"You've become much more maternal since the last time I saw you." Jubei said, slightly surprised that Eda is publicly so affectionate with her apprentice.

"Luz is a good girl with a heart so sweet it gives me cavities. Every now and then she needs some classic mother love, but when things get ugly I can give her some hard old love." Eda said, trying not to look totally softened.

"Eda, caring for your own babies is normal for a parent. Especially when your first baby has grown up and left the nest. Paying more attention to the chicks left in the nest is perfectly normal." Jubei said, trying to share some parental wisdom with Eda.

"I am Eda, the Owl Lady, the most powerful witch in the Hot Isles! I have not become some kind of Mother Owl!" Eda shouted, shamelessly putting, pretty much anyone who has eyes can see that Eda is very motherly towards Luz.

"Believe what you want, but it doesn't change the facts that you take care of Luz and Gudrun.

On a minor note, my wife, Konoe Ayatsuki Mercury is the most powerful witch in the realm. You would be the second most powerful witch, perhaps the third or fifth if we add Belos, Relius Clover and Charlotte Adler (Gudrun) to the list. "Jubei said, giving her opinion on who are the five most powerful magical users on the island.

"Jubei, you are a good friend, but your wife is not a witch, she is a cursed monster from hell trapped in a woman's body.

We both know that the prodigious witch of the Ars Magus considers herself a Magus or a Sorcerer.

Relius Clover has been missing for several years when Gudrun and I taught him not to kidnap children for his sick experiments.

With all this only Belos can be considered the most rival for the title of the most powerful witch in the Hot Isles. "Eda said, reducing Jubei's list to two candidates, herself and Belos. Because the remains are too monstrous, she doesn't they consider witches or are believed to be dead and missing.

Luz and King are flying low over the Bufnitei Forest, aiming to get to the Owl House.

As mentioned earlier this forest is full of traps that form a unique security system.

If you look closely you can see that some of the little animals that live here are actually small metallic beings, surveillance automatons and guard sentries.

Another unique detail is the huge farms scattered through the forest in the shape of obsidian blocks that produce different effects similar to a Bounded Field, a topographic type of Magecraft which consists of weaving a web of magical energy and spreading it over a base area , like a piece of land or a building, to create a mystical boundary line that separates the inside from the outside.

Owlbert began to lower, stopping in a clearing near a cliff.

"Luz, how do you feel to discover that you are not Eda's first apprentice?" He asked King who has so far been on the sidelines for his own safety.

"To be honest, I understand what he was thinking when he hid the existence of my predecessor from me.

I have read enough Fanfiction in which the younger brother to get out of the shadow of the older brother becomes evil or the previous pupil is evil and it's up to the new pupil to stop him. "Luz pauses for a second, wondering if this tropes will be applied in her life. .

"Luz, you are comical. My dark knight is impossible to be defeated by you.

Plus I won't let my dark knight and my most trusted advisor fight each other. "King said, saying a nice and ugly thing, one that Luz doesn't hope for victory over Gudrun, two Kings won't let the his friends quarreled with each other.

"It's nice of you to tell me I'm your most trusted advisor." Luz said, stroking the lovely Demon King.

"Putting my Fanfiction knowledge aside. Now that I understand that he is responsible for creating all these magical things, I want to know him. I want to watch." Luz said, pointing to the empty clearing as if there was something important instead of nothing.

"Apparently there is nothing in front of me, but if I take a couple of steps ..." Luz literally takes a few steps forward and the landscape changes completely, they resell the Owl House.

"through the barrier that hides homesickness from Eda's cops and ex-boyfriends." Luz said, recalling how surprised she was when she first arrived at the Owl House.

The Owl House itself has remained completely the same as it was eight years ago when Gudrun showed up in Eda's life.

But the surrounding environment has changed a lot, becoming something much more fantasy.

The Owl House is surrounded by a beautiful field of otherworldly-looking red whites, in the field stand several pedestals with huge, incredibly realistic golden metal statues on top of various mythical creatures.

In various places on the ground there are silver stones in the shape of small pyramids, in reality they are not decorations, but the tip of the head of some golem workers who take care of the maintenance of the place.

At the edge of the flower field is a very tall metal obsidian fence whose sharp points appear to be formed of magical crystals.

Luz carrying King on her shoulders as if he were a certain yellow mouse with electric powers approaches the gate which is protected by two enchanted armor with a design reminiscent of a dragon.

"This place is amazing, no matter how many times I enter it, I find it amazing." Luz said, walking through the gate with no problem, the armor learned that Luz is part of the Clawthorne family, after a few warning attacks and an argument with Eda.

Luz walked the marble path, instead of going straight into the Owl House and studying the book Eda received, she sits down on a bench to look at the structures next to the Owl House.

A bottomless magical foundation filled with crystal clear water.

A small pond with goldfish that seem to multiply according to the pre-established program.

A fanciful barn populated by strange creatures that look like monstrous versions of a two-headed goat, a winged fire-breathing cow / bull and a demonic horse with bat wings.

Behind the Owl House is a huge evening filled with all sorts of plants, most of them edible and a good deal of it comes from the earth, luckily for Luz's diet.

There's even poultry with hens / ostriches / alligator-headed and scorpion-tailed hens laying huge delicious eggs.

"My dark knight has worked hard to make the place worthy of its king." King said, touching a spot on his locket.

In a short time a sort of Victorian doll, dressed as a waitress, carrying a silver tray full of food, came out of the Owl House, welcoming Luz and King.

"His best invention, a house puppet to assist Eda and me. If only he could find a way to fix Hooty this place would be perfect." King said, eating a delicious flatbread.

"Lucy, thanks for the snack." Luz said, thanking the human-sized doll, still having an uncomfortable feeling that a semi-sentient person / mechanism serves her.

The puppet Lucy doesn't respond to King and Luz's words, she just turns around and returns to the house to do her housework.

Not having better things to do, Luz opens the book and immediately begins the section dedicated to the different types of magic, without taking a look at the instructions and warnings in the prologue.

The magic with many facades and colors, so many that they are comparable to the number of stars you see at night.

Many cultures and species have their own method, system and rules for applying magic in their method.

Some use their inner energy through a specialized tool, a specially evolved organ for this task or by using the pure power of their Soul through specific techniques.

Some indirectly manipulate the present energy of the environment or rely on an outside force to help them.

Looking at the styles of these cultures, I have noticed that humans generally cannot use magic naturally as the witches of the Boiling Isles or the inhabitants of Asgard do.

Their bodies and minds have evolved in different ways, to solve this problem many magicians use self-hypnosis to prepare themselves to perform magic.

The most common and easiest method in my opinion is a mental image that allows you to focus your whole mind on the task.

If you can't get a mental picture, just touch this Rune [] and read this chained [XXX-XXX-XXX]

If you've read the chained up above, let's take this moment to talk about personal affinity.

Normally every living thing has an origin that defines its being and an elemental affinity that makes a specific type of magic easier.

But many did not notice that any person at a trade here excels better than any high, spiritually compatible people with that kind of magic.

By finding the craft that suits your essence and focusing on it you can become a hyper-specialized charmer ...

For the next few minutes Luz, thanks to the "little" concentration spells, her mind became completely blank, having a single thought: reading and understanding the contents of the book.

A magical glint begins to appear in Luz's eyes, slowly growing as the pages go by.

Finishing in seconds to read an entire introductory chapter, when Luz has arrived at the chapter that talks about Runes, Glyphs and Alchemical Circles. Then things got slightly out of hand.

"I see everything!" Luz shouted, rising to her feet, her eyes shining, managing to see all the runes and glyphs present in the Owl House.

Luz can see a large amount of Runes glowing like an irresistible flame coming from the basement.

"Basement, I have to go to the basement!" Luz shouted, running towards the place where she must not go.

King and Owlbert easily noticed that Luz is acting strange and trying to stop her.

Suddenly Luz stops, because out of the corner of her eye she sees something much more valiant than the basement.

The pedestal with a statue of an Occamy, a winged serpent laying eggs of pure silver on it, possesses an indescribable glow that is much more powerful and dazzling.

"Occamy! Occamy! Occamy!" Luz shouts as if it were the most important mantra of her life.

"Luz! Luz! Luz! For the Titan's sake wake up Luz!" King yelled, punching Luz's leg, trying to wake her from the transa while Owlbert is pulling the collar of Luz's shirt to stop her, all in the go.

Luz fully focused on the Primordial Runes baggage engraved beneath the Occamy statue.

Once close enough to the pedestal, start hitting the surface until you find a hidden button.

By introducing the hidden mechanism, Luz's body was crossed by a discharge of magical energy that broke the unsuccessful self-hypnosis.

"King, Owlbert, what happened, where are we and this is a secret entrance?" Luz asked, coming to her senses, noting that the surface of the pedestal makes a strange noise and slides back, revealing a hidden entrance with stairs.

"One of my dark knight's favorite animals is Occamy, but I didn't know he would hide a secret entrance under his favorite reptile statue." King muttered, hiding behind Luz's leg, slightly frightened at the idea of entering the bowels of the earth where his dark knight probably hides the corpses of his enemies.

"King ... looks like something out of a video game ... this must be his secret base. Eda doesn't know about this place either." Luz said, creating a glyph of light down the rather dark stairs.

"Eda is sure to go mad when she finds out that Gudrun has hidden an underground base in the garden." King muttered, holding close to Luz, hoping that Gudrun didn't put any traps or dangerous creatures on guard.

Before long Luz, King and Owlbert reached the elevator at the bottom of the stairs, as well as the code panel on the next wall.

Luz's eyes have begun to glow faintly, her vision of the codes begins to change becoming understandable and easy to read.

"It's like ... my brain can translate the inscriptions ... that mental focus stuff ... by chance it activates a latent power! A Rune vision!" Luz exclaimed, feeling a huge rush of euphoria, feeling like she's become some kind of protagonist like Azura.

Absently, Luz's hand went to the keyboard of strange symbols, her fingers lightly pressing some of them in a very specific order. An order that ended up being the exact code needed to open the elevator.

"How did you do it?" King asked, even the Demon King cannot decipher the symbols on the panel.

"I am a witch with magical eyes! I can understand the meaning of the mystical symbols!" Luz exclaimed, feeling over the moon for discovering this hidden ability.

Without other words the human, the demon and the palisman entered the elevator and descending even further down to what is apparently the top floor.

"40 floors, my dark knight created an underground structure with 40 floors, it will take us forever to explore each one." King said, beginning to feel a desire to see what treasures the Olympic demigod hides.

And when the doors opened, showing the top floor, neither Luz or King were able to figure out what's in front of them.

At first glance, it looks like some kind of tech lab, with strange machines and monitors of all kinds lined up along the walls on either side of the long, narrow room.

And finally, on the other side of a large glass window, there was a radiant, brilliant blue light, pouring into the dark room as the group cautiously entered it.

"What is it all about?" King asked, in a soft whisper, feeling small in this room.

Luz on the other side is as stunned as King as she approaches the light in front of them.

Approaching the desk full of projects and notes, Luz found two things:

A couple of photos of a young Gudrun each with his family, one photo shows his Asgard family with Frigga, Thor and Loki, the other photo shows younger versions of Eda, King, Hooty and a person Luz doesn't knows.

The last thing is an old burgundy colored diary with gold colored corners in the front and none in the back. There are two gold-colored lines on the spine of the book. In the center of the cover is a gold-colored 6-finger hand with the number 2 written on the palm. It has a missing gold-colored corner in the lower left corner. It looks slightly damaged. Above it is a small note that reads "Best gift from Eda's ex-boyfriend. Stan Pines owes me."

"I didn't think there was a cuter thing than King, but a King chick who disproved my beliefs." Luz said, grabbing the family photo and making a copy with the phone for a keepsake of a King puppy.

"Luz, you should see this." King said, standing at the desk at the edge of the room and looking at what was beyond.

Luz has turned her attention to the room just beyond the apparent laboratory they are in, which is much more open and cavernous.

However, no one has paid the same attention to its central feature: a huge metal ring with a giant golden stone in the center that looks like an ugly replica of the artifact that powers Eda's portal.

"King, I think we should go back and wait for Eda. We're in a huge underground laboratory with a strange shiny machine, we probably found the thing that interferes with Eda's portal." Luz said, irresponsible and immature enough to enter an underground laboratory, but smart enough to know when to go back.

"Calm down, Luz. If that thing was dangerous or of any value, my dark knight would have set a trap or something to guard." King said, seeing nowhere on this floor a trap or the slightest trace of a guard dog.

The upcoming discussion between Luz and King was stopped by a very loud hiss: "ssssssssssss!"

"I recognize this sound, it comes from a Snake." Luz said, knowing so much about snakes being among her favorite animals.

"You know, my dark knight likes snakes and repeatedly uses them as guardians for his treasures." King said, starting to raise his head towards the source of the hiss.

On the cave-like ceiling hidden in the shadows is a giant blue Serpent with purple wings that is looking at Luz and King as if they are a snack.

"SSSSSSSSSSSS!" The huge Okami finding intruders in his cave, decided to attack them.

King scared of death, begins to fidget, hitting the desk, dropping the photograph on the keyboard.

At the push of a button, the car came to life with a roar, sparkling with its usual blue, vibrant and ringing glow that completely illuminated the dark basement.

Over what seems like centuries, the whole world seems to be consumed by white nothingness, with everyone adrift in its domain.

Luz, King, Owlbert and the giant Okami have disappeared into thin air.

Keep it going ...

Author's Note:

This chapter with lots of talk and little action has just become the longest chapter I've ever written so far, having approximately: 17,147 words, not counting the jumpchain benefits.

XXX

Secret Identity 101 (Generic Super Academy) (100): You are both trained and just plain lucky when it comes to keeping a secret identity. You will never reveal yourself by accident and only the best investigators will be able to discover who you really are.

For 100cp, your true identity is protected. No one will ever find out unless you deliberately decide to tell them, and you cannot be coerced or coerced into doing so in any way. The most powerful mind control in existence could not force you to tell someone your name. No form of divination can defeat it, it is absolute and perfect protection. Even if captured, no one will connect your appearance to your true identity. People may think they have understood this, or believe they have discovered it, but invariably they are wrong.

It works even if you don't actually use a mask or disguise, as long as you want your normal identity not linked to your super-identity, it won't.

Unnatural Ability [Cyclops-level blacksmith] (Percy Jackson) (200): Whether it's your heritage or just being that good, you have a particular worldly skill that your exploits border on the supernatural. Whether you're a Cyclops-level blacksmith, an almost prescient tactician, or a swordsman who is nearly unstoppable with a blade, your feats will be legendary. You are at such a level that only other legendary beings can hope to match you. This can be taken multiple times. You can't choose magic, but you can choose a particular application of magic if you already have it (so curses, spells might work, the more specific they get a greater boost).

Diary [Diary 2 of 3] (Gravity Falls) (300): You have a perfectly identical copy of one of the Journals, complete with its hidden messages and any missing pages. There are great secrets in Gravity Falls and these journals are invaluable to anyone looking for them. The knowledge within works on similar goals in other worlds (such as instructions on dealing with ghosts and the like), but some things are only found here.

+ Trickster (Marvel - Magic) (Free): Spell or punch has never been your favorite method of doing things. Your natural charm, your good looks or your sharp silver tongue were always your go-to point. Oh sure, you have a few tricks outside of that, but how often do you really need them when you're as persuasive as you are?

Fascinating (Marvel - Magic) (Free): Not all cheaters and thieves use words and cunning. Some are just so amazing that words are often not needed. And now, you consider yourself among them. Your appearance is far beyond the norms of your breed, forever freeing you from the worries of minor blemishes or bad hair days. A smile from you can make the average person weak in the knees or beside themselves with jealousy. The only question is how will you use your great beauty?

Fool Me Once (Marvel - Magic) (Free): It was just a joke! It is in your very nature to plot and complicity, to deceive and play. And others seem to understand this, giving yourself more leeway, allowing you to find forgiveness a little more easily, to find that second chance in others. Of course, there is a limit to this. If you cheat on someone one too many times or simply for a particularly heinous act, you will find that people quickly notice you and stop giving you more chances to burn them.

Seven League Boots (Marvel - Magic) (Free): Legends who speak of these enchanted boots say they allow the wearer to take seven leagues with each step, allowing them to traverse vast distances unfathomably quickly. These boots, while sharing the name and being enchanted, do something a little different. Instead of increasing the wearer's stride length, they simply allow him to walk on anything, be it air, water or walls.

Self Shapeshifting (Marvel - Magic) (100): You are you, no matter the shape you take or the shape you wear. However, some shapes are particularly suitable for you, being almost as natural to slip into as any other. You have the innate ability to transform yourself into forms that are somehow you. You could transform yourself into an opposite-sex version of yourself or take the form of a fox or even a humanoid fox of an opposite-sex humanoid fox. However, such forms will always be you, whether it be you as a woman or you as an animal or you as an elf, it will still be you as you would be in that form. It is impossible to use it to take the form of another individual.

Enchantment (Marvel - Magic) (200): Your charm, as it is, is a powerful tool. But alone is not always enough. When such opportunities arise, you are able to strengthen it by supernatural means. Through a particular means of physical contact with others, whether it be a kiss, a handshake or something similar, you can fascinate others. Once enchanted in this way by you, they will retain all their former intelligence and abilities, but will be completely loyal and obedient to you. Such a spell will last roughly a year before fading, although you can reapply it at any time to extend the duration.

Particularly powerful beings can be resilient or even immune, and those with extraordinarily strong wills can resist your powers, but most will become loyal slaves with just a touch.

Quicksilver Tongue (Marvel - Magic) (300): That's right, right? That language of yours is what really makes you a cheater. The reason you have to be feared. Your cunning is as dangerous as any sword or spell. Talking to you is a gamble, as few men or gods are truly beyond persuasion or corruption. Given the time and open ears, there is little you could not accomplish. Becoming an advisor to a king who doesn't trust you or starting a rebellion among a satisfied people is a simple thing for you, requiring only a little time and patience, and negotiating a deal with you is the sure sign of a fool. But be warned, some people are just too pure or just too focused to corrupt and there are still others out there who may even match your great wits.

+ Auror (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) (Free): You are the elite when it comes to tackling dark wizards and excellent grades in school were required for you to get to this point. You are currently working for or closely with the Major Investigation Department of MACUSA and have been working tirelessly to ensure the no-majs don't find out about magic, no mean feat in the wake of the panic spreading across the wizarding world as Gellert Grindelwald remains at large.

Fascinating! (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) (Free): Your magic is elegant and most importantly, extremely pleasant to watch. People would happily sit and watch you do magic for hours because it has an indefinable grace and beauty that they can't help but admire.

Investigator (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) (Free): You are a gumshoe of some note, capable of making connections that others would miss and you are keenly observant allowing you to get a much more accurate idea of the situation with a simple glance at a crime scene than an ordinary person would get by combing it carefully

Do you think you can hold me? (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) (100): It is remarkably difficult to keep you contained as your magic seems to surge whenever you are bound or imprisoned causing ropes to loosen or locks to click open. It would take a very well designed cell to keep you for long.

Apparition Ace (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) (200): You can apparate extremely quickly and efficiently allowing you to flit from one place to another as easy as breathing. As one of the world's foremost apparators you can also apparate far further than normal wizards are able, capable of crossing countries, seas and even continents with barely more effort than usual.

Occamy (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) (200): A winged snake that lays pure silver eggs. It shrinks or grows to fit the space at its disposal, although when they are truly outside a closed space or room they seem to remain the same size. It comes with a teapot and a cockroach in case you accidentally let it out in a warehouse.

Duelist Champion (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) (300): Your skill and speed in combat make you among the most dangerous magical combatants the wizarding world has ever seen. Even highly trained aurors can be swatted aside as little more than nuisances. Not only is your skill prodigious but you seem to simply have more magical power behind your spells than other wizards and witches whenever you are in combat.

+ Drop-In (Generic Harry Potter Fanfiction) (Free): Appearing out of nowhere one day, just out of nowhere. Somehow you have all the necessary documents to appear, at least on paper, as a legal resident and / or student. Until you get attention, it is unlikely that anyone will notice.

Wandlore (Harry Potter) (150): You have a great knowledge of wandlore and practical skills in making wands. You can make decent wands with imperfect woods and unconventional cores. You can use almost all magical parts of magical creatures as cores with varying success. Unconventional wands with a powerful magical core are potentially powerful but erratic and extremely dangerous.

The Emporium (Generic Harry Potter Fanfiction) (200): It's all good to be massively talented and capable. Now, if I could just convert all of this into some cash, huh? This is your tool for it! This is your personal convenience store, a one-stop shop that focuses on one thing! You!

This is a shop, which moves with you, discreetly appearing in any city you go to. As long as it's not a one-of-a-kind, ultra-rare artifact, whatever you create, be it weapons, enchanted items, potions, or simple, mundane items, can be endlessly replicated here, ready to be sold for its full value.

And you will always get its full value. In the context of the local world, your items are priced to get the best possible result in terms of sales and profit. You can change that too, if you only want to sell on one side or something. The metrics are set by you and the store adjusts to get the best possible results under them.

TechnoMage (Generic Harry Potter Fanfiction) (300): There's a lot more to the magic than these stifling old thoroughbred kinsmen believe, and it can be seen! You are an absolute master of the art of Techno-Magic. Making machines that work with magic, or just magical equivalents of Muggle technology, or something as simple as operating Muggle devices in magical environments is all a breeze for you. You can perfectly translate between technology and magic, which means you can create technological equivalents to all the magic you know and magical equivalents to all the technology you can make without losing even a iota of effectiveness.

While being good at blending magic and technology is good enough, being able to blend futuristic technology wildly with highly advanced magic is best. Not only are you very good at magic, but now you are just as good at the tech side, being a certifiable genius among geniuses. Your joined devices now work much better than magic or the technology would work on its own, providing significantly greater effectiveness and utility. Additionally, your skills with the more "technical" branches of magic, such as arrhythmancy and the like, cross all levels imagined.

Finally, you can also get things normally thought impossible by combining spells and technology. You can do without the more symbolic and ritual components of any magic you do, making it as fully reproducible as technology.

Automated spells, crafting potions through machines ... now it's all possible.

World Walker (Generic Harry Potter Fanfiction) (600): You have an affinity for spellwork that has to do with long distance magic, such as carrying people or things, even things like words or messages. Not only are you one of the best appearance experts in the world, being an absolute genius in every variation and technique that exists, you are also capable of extremely fast flight without a broom, which has the curious effect of enveloping you in thick clouds of any color. like it.

Other than that, you are extraordinary at making things like doorsteps, retractable lockers or portals, being able to create portkeys that can move people as delicately as a mother's touch, and portals that move people without them noticing until it's too late . Summoning and banishing spells are meaningless to you, even the most powerful or complex ones.

You have a remarkable aptitude for penetrating barriers and defenses when you build these things, so much so that with even rudimentary information about the protections of a place, you can figure out how to get around them, and with a little more work you could make them collapse outright.

These abilities also apply to all spells that revolve around observing people from afar, be it divination spells, listening spells, or other similar spells.

Devil Arm Arm (Devil May Cry) (400): Your non-dominant arm gets replaced by a literal demonic arm. It will look very unnatural on your body, either having a completely different skin color from the rest of you, or looking like a glowing claw. You're also provided with a way of hiding and suppressing the power of your new arm, as anything from medical sling, a glove and a sleeve, some weird metallic brace, or just a large red cloth to wrap around your arm.

Devil Buster (Devil May Cry) (Free): Okay now, this one I myself am not so sure about. This is Nero's very own personal Style, which pretty much consists of projecting your Devil Trigger through your arm in the form of whatever you will it to be. This magnifies its power by a pretty big margin, it lets you extend your projected arm long distances to pull something towards you and vice versa, and it also makes for a pretty neat party trick. The Devil Bringer also makes your Devil Trigger look a bit ... different. Instead of transforming your body, it projects your Devil Trigger form as a semi-transparent spirit that will protect you and fight along with you. It'll stand by your side. It's a vision of your soul that's gonna stand proud. It's- alright, I think you get the joke already.

Oh yeah, the Devil Bringer can also replicate some properties of demonic / magical items that you come across. So if you find some magic bow or something, you might be able to shoot arrows from your arm, or make a barrier if you have a shield. I think. Possibly. Maybe. Nero's the expert with this thing, ask him.

Divine Visual Organs (Kekkai Sensen) (800): You have been implanted with a set of divine visual organs, commonly known as the all-seeing eyes of the gods. These eyes are made by Riga El Menuhyut, a powerful divine Beyondian entity who bears the title of Ophthalmological Engineer for beings of higher existence. Usually, to get your hands on a set of these, a person close to you will have to lose their sight instead, but since you're paying such a high price for them, we can skip that part.

The main function of these eyes is to record major world-changing events in their world for demigods. Again, since your Benefactor is already perfectly capable of observing your activities, we can skip that part.

Now, about what you can do with them. Their primary power is described as being able to see the "Truth" of the world. This means that the user of the Eyes cannot be fooled by any kind of visual illusion, even if of magical origin or not. They can also see the "auras" of any being, which is particularly useful, as members of different species have different auras.

Other skills include learning a being's true name by observing his or her aura, although depending on the being in question, other requirements may be needed to achieve this. Eye keepers also get exceptional eyesight, being able to observe a person from great distances in perfect detail or see a louse between the head of a small monkey.

Other abilities of the possessors include total control over the vision of those around them, be they Beyondians without real organs of vision, and even mechanical ones, such as cameras, are not exempt from their manipulation. They can use this ability to see what others see, change the field of vision of two individuals, create powerful visual illusions that only other eye owners can circumvent, and even cause information overload that damages the eyes of others.

You should be aware that overuse of eye abilities will damage them, causing them to temporarily lose their abilities due to overheating. If you do this too many times in a row, there is a chance that your eyes will break, which would usually make your brain explode with them, unless you are somehow able to burn your brain to ashes. , it is not recommended to abuse it. However, if left unused, the Eyes are perfectly capable of repairing themselves.

These Eyes are incredibly precious, to the point that even powerful beings from the Beyond will kill for them if they know you have them. Be careful who you reveal to have them.
