Frigga stood up and hurried over to the door the moment she saw the group coming down the corridor. "You made it home!" She happily announced. "Come here, I need hugs from everyone!"
Laney grinned as she watched Frigga make her way around, then hugged her last. "We missed you too, Frigga," she said softly.
"I think congratulations are in order." Frigga whispered as they hugged, not sure if Loki knew yet.
A blush filled Laney's cheeks. "I had a feeling you would know just by touch," she whispered back, then pulled away, holding her hands. "Loki knows," she said softly. "He's scared, but so am I."
"Just the fact that he is able to be so calm shows how far he's come. I'm so excited! We will have to do some shopping soon and talk about nursery options!" Frigga said, overjoyed. "I have waited for this day for so long!"
Odin, who'd just greeted both of his sons and Desi, raised an eyebrow at Frigga. "My dear, what is the excitement about?" He asked with a slight chuckle.
Frigga looked over at Odin and smiled. "Laney now carries a child... our first grandchild!" She explained as calmly as possible, but unable to hide her huge grin.
"Well that is exciting news," Odin replied with slightly widened eyes. He looked at Loki, then at Laney. "Congratulations to you both."
"I find it hard to believe you would truly consider this exciting." Loki muttered and wrapped his arms protectively around Laney.
Odin sighed and sat back in his seat. "Would you truly believe that I would think a new life in the family is not exciting Loki?"
"I truly believe you would feel no excitement for a new Jotun life." Loki clarified.
"A new life is a new life Loki, no matter of its heritage," Odin responded as he watched Laney frown slightly at Loki's words. "Watch how you speak."
Frigga took Laney's hand and looked at Loki, making him let go of her. "How about some tea Laney?"
"That would be lovely," she said quietly.
"Don't forget where my feelings come from." Loki retorted, then walked away to follow Laney.
Odin nodded, but didn't respond as he sipped his own tea, while Laney sat beside Frigga at the small table. "Loki, please," she said softly.
Loki sat down next to Laney and stayed quiet now. He wasn't sorry for what he had said, but he didn't want to stress Laney.
Frigga looked between them, then looked over at Thor and Desi, who'd made themselves comfortable on the sofa nearby. "Stay and mingle as long as you'd like, all of you. I'm sure you'd like to relax."
Laney smiled and took a sip of her tea. "Thank you Frigga. Umm... is there a chance I could be caught up on what happened with my father?"
"Your father would not explain the reason for his actions, but he has sworn he will not act out again. Out of respect for you, Thor has issued a community service order. When your father decides to fully explain himself, his case will be re-evaluated." Frigga explained.
"Is he here?" Laney asked as she sat her cup down on the table. "I don't want to cause any issues," she added as she placed a hand on her stomach.
"He has been given quarters and work in the village. We want to keep him close, but did not feel the palace was the best place for him to stay at this time." She replied.
Laney nodded and picked her cup up once more before she took a sip. "Thank you Frigga, for everything."
"We are doing everything we can to end this peacefully." Frigga assured Laney, then turned to Thor and Desi. "I see you both survived your week apart?" She asked teasingly.
Thor chuckled as he put his arm around Desi's shoulders. "Only just, mother."
"Is there anything official between you two yet?" She asked, wanting it to work out for them.
"We haven't really talked about it yet," Thor responded honestly. "But I'd like for it to be, if she'll have me," he added as he looked down at Desi.
Desi blushed but nodded. "If you ask me, I promise I won't reject you." She said softly.
"Well then," Thor said quietly as he rummaged through his pockets, then handed her a small box. "It'd be my honor if you would allow me to court you."
Desi blushed a deeper shade of red as she opened the box to reveal a silver bracelet with a purple stone and charm that looked like a lightning bolt. "Nothing would make me happier." She said sincerely.
Thor smiled. "I hope you like it."
She gasped softly. "It's beautiful, I love it!" She said truthfully as she took it from the box. "Will you put it on me?"
Thor nodded, then gently took the jewelry and clasped it around her wrist. "I'm glad you like it."
"I will always love it." She said and kissed his cheek, not brave enough to fully kiss him yet.
"I'm glad," Thor murmured as he nuzzled against her neck.
Laney watched from across the room with a wide smile on her face. "I'm happy for you Desi. I told you that everything would work out."
Desi smiled and nodded. "Thank you for putting up my uncertainties." She said sincerely.
"We will have to celebrate this! The entire kingdom will be so excited for you both!" Frigga told Desi and Thor.
Thor chuckled. "Only if Desi wishes to," he replied. "I don't want her to be uncomfortable."
"I don't mind." Desi said softly, still looking at the bracelet.
"It's settled then! When the two of you are ready to make an announcement, we will have a big celebration for you as well." Frigga promised Loki and Laney.
Laney blushed. "Won't that be a bit early to celebrate?" she asked.
"It will be whenever you are ready to celebrate. I just did not want either of you to feel left out." Frigga explained to Laney.
"Thank you Frigga," Laney replied, then covered her mouth to yawn. "I'm sorry. It's been a long morning."
"Do you want to go have a nap darling?" Loki asked Laney. "I still need to talk to Odin but it will likely end up in an argument... you don't need that stress."
Laney nodded. "I wouldn't mind one. We had to be up quite early."
"I will come lay down with you after Odin and I talk, alright?" He asked then kissed her softly.
She returned the kiss gently. "I'll be in our chambers my love," she whispered, then stood and nodded to the rest of the room before she turned and left.
Loki watched her go, then turned to Odin. "We learned a few things in Yamir that I need to ask you about." He said, not happy about it, but trying to stay calm.
Odin turned to Loki and furrowed his brow. "Alright. Would you like your brother present?" he asked.
Loki hesitated for a moment, then nodded. He knew his brother would at least stop a fight before it got out of hand. He glanced over at Thor who nodded, agreeing to stay. "We were told the Jotnar don't abandon their young, so I'm curious as to how I ended up abandoned."
"When I found you," Odin began, " You were placed on a rock, all by yourself. You wore no clothes and barely had a blanket around your body. I only found you because of your cries."
"Do you know how I ended up there? It was suggested there was more to the story than a simple abandonment." Loki said softly.
Odin shook his head. "All I know is that you were small, a lot smaller than the average Jotun infant would be. We thought you may have been part aesir, but the healers stated you weren't."
"Do they even know which family I was born to? Is anything at all known about me?" Loki asked, feeling frustrated.
"We know that you are Laufey's son, but only because of the blood sample we took when I brought you home. Your mother and I looked through books to see what could have happened, but could not find anything, so we raised you as our own," Odin explained. "I just wish I had done it better," he added with a mumble.
"Who was Laufey married to? Is there any record? I will need to find them to find out what happened to me and why." Loki said plain and simple.
Odin placed his hand under his chin, in thought. "I am not certain if he had a queen. I know the Jotun King is known to have concubines, but I do not know if he wed."
"That is your answer for me? I was born to a whore?" He asked incredulously, starting to lose his calm demeanor.
"No Loki, that is not my answer," Odin stated firmly. "I stated that I do not know if he wed. There was never any notice of your birth like there would normally be from royalty of another realm. I did not know of you until after the battle, when I found you."
"Fine, what kind of situations would arise for a royal birth to be hidden?" Loki asked, glaring at Odin.
"It has never been done before," Odin replied. "The only thing that comes to mind is that the royalty you were born from prided on their large stature and are known for trying to keep it that way. You could have been abandoned due to being so small to them. You were of normal infant size to us."
"Of course it's never been done before. I guess a child was never born so vile before." Loki mumbled to himself. "Who holds the throne now?"
Frigga walked up behind Loki and swatted his arm. "Do not talk about yourself that way. You may be an adult, but I don't want to hear it. You are not vile, you were just small to them. I assume they thought you would not survive."
"They never even gave me a chance!" Loki snapped and looked away to hide his emotions. "They assumed I couldn't, Odin assumed I'd never be anything... no one thought to give me a chance to prove I could!" He said then stood up to leave.
Frigga reached out to grasp Loki's hand, making him stop. "Son. I know you feel hurt right now. But all your focusing on is the past. I know you want to find out what you can, and that's fine. But you also need to see what you have in the present and what the future holds for you."
"If I don't get answers, the future holds nothing for me. I need to figure everything out and quick because you have no idea what it's like to live in fear that you will hate your own child. I need to be better than that, but I can't until I can properly put the past behind me." Loki explained softly, then sat down again.
"Son... you will not hate your child," Frigga whispered, "But I do understand... we understand."
Loki quickly dried his eyes. "I just want to be a normal person." He told her.
"You're normal to us my son," Frigga said as she rubbed his back. "Try not to dwell on it so much and we will find out what we can for you. Go and be with your love."
Loki nodded and stood, then hugged his mother. "Thank you." He said then walked out.
Laney laid curled in a ball in the center of the bed, fast asleep, until the sound of the main door opening, made her wake. She rubbed her eyes and looked over her shoulder "Loki? Are you back?"
Loki didn't say anything, he just walked into the bedroom and laid down next to Laney. He curled up to her and held her close. "I shouldn't have talked to them." he mumbled.
"Oh, hon," she murmured as she turned to face him and curled against his chest. "You knew it was going to be tense. I'm glad it didn't end up in a fight."
"I wish it would have. Mother thinks I was abandoned because they assumed I wouldn't survive and Odin thinks my biological mother was a wh-concubine."
Laney pulled back and met his eyes. "I somehow think there is more to both of those conversations," Laney replied, then kissed the tip of his nose.
"More that Odin and mother aren't telling me?" He asked her.
"No Loki," she said softly. "I'm saying that you are only focusing on those things and not everything they told you. I cannot see Frigga openly being harsh, love."
"Mother wasn't being harsh, but it still hurt. She said the family I was born to prides themselves on their size, so when I was born so small, they assumed I wouldn't survive. My birth was never even announced so there is no record." Loki explained, then sighed. "I need to go to Jotunheim."
Laney ran her hands through his hair and kissed his forehead. "I can write to Gall in the morning if you want me to. Maybe he could give you a little more information your parents don't have."
"If my birth was never announced, how could he know more than mother knows?" Loki asked curiously.
"It wasn't announced publicly, but the citizens had to have noticed something," Laney replied. "I just want to help my love."
"I know you do darling and I'm not upset with you. It's just the entire situation. It will take a few days to prepare for the trip, so if you wish to write to Gall, I am willing to hear what he has to say." Loki agreed.
Laney nodded as she caressed his cheek. "I'll write to him in the morning," she murmured. "Could I ask you something?"
"You can always ask me anything darling, I promise." Loki said sincerely.
"Could I tempt you into giving me a kiss?" Laney asked with a small smile upon her face.
"If you really try, I think you could." He teased, then leaned forward and closed the small gap between them to kiss her deeply. Laney giggled into the kiss as her arms wrapped around his neck, then pushed him to lay on his back so she could lay on top of him. "Since it's still early in the day, do you think we could send a letter off this evening?" He asked when she leaned up to look down at him, wanting to calm his nerves.
"I'm sure we can. Would you like to write the letter yourself?" Laney asked.
"I don't know that I could organize my thoughts enough, and I'm not even sure what to ask right now." Loki admitted, holding her close.
Laney pecked his chin, then lifted up to kiss his chest. "Why don't you wait a little while and try to get your thoughts in order, then write it out?" She suggested.
"Alright, I will. Before I send it, will you look over it for me please?" He moved his hand up to twirl a lock of her hair around his finger.
"Of course," Laney answered, "It doesn't take much to please you my love," she added, with a small chuckle.
"Is that a good thing?" Loki asked, sincerely curious. "Is it wrong to want to know where I come from?"
"No Loki, of course not. I didn't mean that how it sounded, I'm sorry," Laney replied as she absently played with the fabric of his tunic.
"It wasn't you. Mother thinks I should just focus on the present and future. I feel too stuck though, with so many unanswered questions. I feel like I don't even care what the answers are anymore, so long as I know the truth." He admitted, then yawned.
Laney leaned down and captured his lips in a lingering kiss. "I hope you get the closure you're looking for."
Loki returned her kiss, keeping his arms around her waist. "I hope so too. I want us to have an amazing life together." He said truthfully. "For now, let's nap." He said softly.
She laughed and snuggled into his neck, feeling her eyes getting heavy once more. It's not just the two of us anymore... but I'm sure it will be more than amazing.
I'm going to be a good father... I have to be... was Loki's only thought as he drifted off to sleep.
Laney woke to a cold empty bed, which made her grumble as she curled tighter into a ball. "Loki?" She called as she sat up in the middle of the bed, only to see he was sitting at his desk with a quill and paper.
"Over here darling. I am just finishing my letter." He said softly. "I am glad you woke, we need to get ready for the feast soon."
Laney stretched her arms above her head, then climbed out of bed before she padded to stand behind him at the desk. "Did your thoughts come together?" She asked.
"I think it came together enough for him to understand." Loki folded the letter that had ended up being several pages long and sealed it to send it. "I hope he can at least lead me in the right direction," he said then stood and wrapped his arms around Laney.
"I'm glad," Laney said as she leaned up to kiss his cheek. "What kind of feast is tonight? Just family?"
"It will be similar to the feast we had to announce our courtship. It might be a bit fancier though, due to Thor's higher status." He explained, then walked over to the closet to find his fancier tunic.
Laney grinned as she watched him begin to change clothes. "Should I dress up then?"
"You can wear whatever you like and always be the most beautiful woman there." Loki said with a smile.
"Always the charmer," Laney replied as she walked up behind him and kissed his bare back before he could pull on the other tunic.
"I love the feel of your lips." Loki said softly. After he pulled the tunic on, he turned and kissed her lips softly.
She returned his kiss as she ran her hands up his chest. "I love yours as well. Should I wear green tonight? Or gold?"
"I think green. You look very good in green. Maybe accent it with the necklace I bought you?" He suggested.
"That sounds perfect," she replied as she walked around him, letting her hand trail across his ass as she did so, to look in the closet for a dress to wear.
"You are such a tease." Loki chuckled. "I better learn those spells for my Jotun form, for the future." He joked.
Laney giggled as she pulled out a floor length hunter green gown. "Unless you want a herd of children my love, that would be an idea." Laney turned and placed the dress on the hook of the door before she draped her arms around his neck. "Because I cannot resist you either."
Loki wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. "I actually always imagined we would have a big family." He admitted.
"Is that something you still want?" She asked while she played with his hair. I still have yet to give him a haircut.
"I don't know. If I can work past all these fears, I think so." Loki said softly then pressed a soft kiss to her lips.
Laney returned his kiss, turning it into a slow, languid one as she gripped onto the hair at the base of his neck. "I guess we'll just have to see," she murmured.
"What would be your thoughts on a big family?" He asked, pressing his forehead to hers.
She shrugged as she thought about it, although her eyes stayed locked on his. "I'd be happy with maybe... three?"
"Is that something we could decide on for sure in the future? I feel like we should see how things go for a while before making that decision." Loki said truthfully, not breaking his gaze either.
"We can do whatever you feel is right," Laney answered, then pecked his lips. "We should finish getting dressed."
He smiled and nodded. "I just think it's too early to set anything like that in stone." He chuckled, then shifted her clothes to the dress she had picked.
Laney looked down at herself after she felt the tingle of his magic. "In a couple of months I'll have to get all new clothes," she mumbled, trying to see herself with a rounded belly.
"We will visit the palace tailor and have clothes made to fit you perfectly." He promised her.
She smirked at him as she pulled away and went to grab her jewelry from the nightstand. "You know my belly will keep growing for sometime, Loki."
Loki grinned as he watched her walk. "I know, but I have heard he can make clothes that will comfortably allow for that growing." He replied.
"That's a relief," Laney replied as she clipped on her necklace he had bought her.
"Even if he can't, you know I would get you new clothes anytime you need or want them." He pointed out.
Laney walked back up to him and gave him a kiss. "You spoil me so much, I cannot imagine how spoiled our child will be."
"I love spoiling you." Loki replied, but left it at that for the moment. "Are you ready to go?"
"I'm ready if you are," she said with a smile.
"I am." He gave her a cute bow, then offered her his arm. "Will you be my date for the evening?"
She bowed back in return as she giggled. "Why, yes I will my prince."
When they arrived in the main dining hall many of the guests had already arrived. Loki immediately recognized some of the nobles from his and Laney's celebration. He also saw some new faces as they walked over to the main table. "Do you think you might feel up to dancing later?"
"I should be alright. I wore my flats tonight instead of heels," Laney said as she sat in the chair Loki had pulled out for her.
Loki sat next to Laney and poured them each some juice. "I just don't want you to overdo it or anything."
She smiled over at him and took a long sip of her drink. "Loki, I'll be okay. If I feel bad I'll let you know."
"Thank you darling." Loki said sincerely, then looked around to get a better idea of who was there.
Laney sat back in her seat and watched everyone as they mingled with each other. "Looks like this is a nice turn out. Have they announced Thor and Desi?"
Loki nodded towards the door. "They are about to announce them right now." He said just as the large wooden doors were pulled open for Thor and Desi.
"Presenting Prince Thor and his consort Desi harksdottir," announced the palace guard, just as Thor leaned down and pressed a kiss to Desi's cheek as they entered.
Desi blushed softly and moved closer, feeling embarrassed to be the center of attention. "How do you stay so calm with all this?" She asked him quietly.
"It's normal for me. I've never really thought about it," Thor answered as he led Desi to the main table. He moved her chair out for her to sit, then helped her scoot closer to the table.
Desi sat and started to relax once people started to mingle again and there was less attention on them. "This is all still so much to take in."
Thor smiled at her as he sat in the seat beside her. "I'm sorry if it's overwhelming."
"It's not bad... I just never imagined any of this would happen." Desi said with a smile, then nudged Laney. "How are you feeling now?" She asked, concerned.
Laney put down her glass and nudged Desi back playfully. "I'm feeling pretty good actually. The nap we both had really helped."
"That's good. I was worried about the stress earlier." Desi said truthfully.
Laney shrugged. "I'm alright. I have to be there for Loki as well as the little one."
"I was worried about all three of you. You need to be really careful when it comes to stress." Desi said out of concern.
"I know. We'll try to be careful," Laney responded then took a bite of her food.
"Thank you, I just want all three of you to be at your best." Desi said truthfully then turned to her food. After a couple bites, she turned to Thor. "So... um... what does this mean for us now? I know we're official now, but with your status, what's expected of us?" She asked curiously.
"Nothing much will change. I will not pressure you into doing anything. We can make appearances if you'd like, but I'm not going to make you," Thor explained.
"I know you wouldn't make me do anything... I just don't know anything about this lifestyle, so I just want to learn and be prepared." Desi said truthfully.
"I will keep you informed, don't worry my sweet," Thor said happily.
Desi blushed softly. After hesitating for a moment, she took his hand and laced her fingers with his. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
The gathering commenced and everyone mingled and danced. Laney sat near the dance floor and watched everyone spin and twirl. She'd just finished her third dance and was a little out of breath. "This is fun," she said with a smile.
"Would you like a drink darling?" Loki offered. "There is juice and water... I don't know if you can have mead."
"Mead isn't a good idea, but juice is fine," she answered with a soft smile.
"I will be right back darling." Loki leaned down and kissed her softly before walking off to get them each a drink.
"I hope you saved enough energy to dance with me too." Desi said with a smile and walked over to sit with Laney.
Laney chuckled. "Maybe a slow dance. I don't know if I could dance to another fast song."
"A slow dance is fine, I'm just the one with some questions now." Desi admitted.
"Questions?" Laney asked. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong, there's just a couple things I'm a little unsure about." Desi explained. "Like, a guard came to me a little bit ago. They want to know where all my stuff goes when it arrives... do I stay in my chambers or do we share chambers now?" She asked, blushing softly.
Laney nodded, understanding. "If you feel you aren't ready to share chambers with Thor, you can still stay in your room."
"I think I'm fine either way, but I'm not sure what he wants, and I'm kind of really nervous to ask him. We don't really talk about this kind of stuff..." she admitted, very embarrassed.
She put her arm around Desi's shoulders. "The best thing to do is to ask him Desi. That's the only way you'll know."
Desi nodded. "I know... I just worry he will get the wrong idea if I ask."
"It's a big step for both of you. It's best to be open with him," Laney replied. "Loki and I only moved so fast because of our history. You don't need to be like us."
"I know we don't have to move that fast, but I also don't know what speed we should move at." Desi replied. "I will go talk with him." She said and hugged Laney, then waved to Thor for him to come over.
Thor excused himself from The Warriors Three and walked over to Desi with a sweet smile. "How are you?" He asked.
"I'm fine... but um... the guard wanted to know which chambers my belongings from Yamir should go to... and I wasn't sure what to tell him." She said softly, feeling nervous and embarrassed.
"Where would you like them to go?" Thor asked as he took her hands in his. "What would you be comfortable with?"
"I am fine either way, I just don't know how any of this works, or if there's any traditions or anything." Desi admitted.
"I would be happy to share chambers with you, but only if you're ready," Thor said honestly.
"I... I think I am... but I don't know how any of that really works." she admitted, blushing.
"Well... we would share a bed and your belongings would be with mine," Thor explained. "Is that something you'd want?"
"I meant the intimate part... I have never been with anyone before." She said softly.
Thor blushed and cleared his throat. "That isn't a problem. We will come to that when we're ready for it," he said softly, then brought her hand to his lips. "I want to, but only when you're ready."
"S-sorry, I thought it was an automatic thing." Desi admitted. "I think starting by sharing the chambers is a good idea." She said, feeling relief of no pressure there.
Thor smiled at her then leaned over and kissed her cheek. "Then that's what we'll do."
"Are you sure it's alright that we aren't intimate right away?" Desi asked, just wanting to make sure.
Thor pulled her close to where he could wrap his arm around her. "Yes Desi, it's okay. I will be happy just to have you next to me at night."
Desi curled into his side contently. "Thank you for understanding." She said softly.
"I finally found more juice." Loki told them as he walked up. Having seen his brother and Desi, he brought drinks for everyone, to be polite. He sat next to Laney again and handed her the glass with the most.
Laney grinned and quickly pecked his lips before she took a sip of her drink. "With all of this juice I am bound to have to run to the bath before too long."
"Perhaps, but it's important to stay hydrated." Loki pointed out. "When do you both return to your posts?" He asked Laney and Desi.
"I return in a couple of days," Laney answered. "Frigga said she wanted me to get settled and relax... her words."
"I start at my post the day after tomorrow." Desi replied.
"That's good. Thor and I have some business to attend to tomorrow, so you two can keep each other company and do whatever girls do." Loki said, happy Laney wouldn't have to be alone.
Laney chuckled. "I guess that means girl time for us," she said as she nudged Desi.
"Yes! Since you have to relax, we can hang out in our pajamas all day." Desi giggled happily. "And you can help me unpack a bit."
She shrugged. "I don't mind helping. I can fold clothes."
"You don't have to if you don't want to. It was just an idea." Desi admitted, then tried to stifle a yawn.
Thor turned from speaking with Loki at hearing Desi yawn. "Getting tired?"
"A little. I was too anxious to sleep last night." Desi admitted.
"Are you ready to turn in?" He asked her.
"Would that be alright, or would it be considered rude?" Desi asked, not wanting to seem rude or ungrateful.
"We've been mingling for a while now. They wouldn't miss us if we left," Thor answered.
"Then I wouldn't mind turning in for the evening." Desi said, fighting another yawn.
Thor stood and offered her his hand. "Let's go then. Loki, Laney, we shall see you on the morrow."
"Goodnight Thor, Desi," Laney said simply.
"Goodnight." Desi replied and hugged Laney tight. "I'll see you in the morning... goodnight Loki." She added.
"Goodnight to both of you." Loki replied.
Loki and Laney mingled for a little while longer before they made the trek to their own chambers for the night. Laney grinned at herself in the mirror while she took off her necklace and placed it on the nearby table before she reached behind her and undid the tie to the dress she wore, letting it fall to the floor. She turned to the side and stared at her reflection with her hands on her lower belly. "It's still hard to believe there's a little one in there... my little star."
"It is very hard to believe. I can't believe I didn't know about the difference in spells." Loki sighed and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
Laney put her hands over his on her belly. "It's alright Loki. It may have been a surprise, but it's a happy surprise."
"I'm still scared of how I will handle all of this." He admitted softly.
"I'm scared too," Laney replied quietly. "My body is going to change so much... but I already adore the tiny thing inside me."
"I know you are, but you don't have to fear abandoning your own child." He said quietly, then pulled away enough to pull his tunic off.
Laney turned to face Loki, a frown on her face. "I don't think you'll abandon the baby Loki."
"I don't want to, I swear I don't. That is part of what drives me to learn the truth. If I was abandoned, I need to know why. If I wasn't, I need to know what happened. I need to make sure it doesn't repeat itself with me." He explained to her.
Laney walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "You are not Odin, Loki. Nor are you Laufey. I think you will be an excellent father."
"I want to be a good father. I have always wanted to have a family with you." He said truthfully.
"I want to have a family with you too. We are already a small one... it's just getting a little bigger," she said happily.
Loki gave a little nod. "I promise I will get past this, one way or another, I will." He vowed.
"You will sweetheart," she said sweetly, "I know you will."
"I can't do it without you, and it felt absolutely impossible until you came back." Loki admitted, then pressed a soft kiss to her lips. "Are you ready to lay down?"
Laney nodded. "It's been a very long day. I think it will benefit us both to get some sleep."
"Will you be alright with Desi for an hour or so tomorrow?" He asked and led her over to the bed.
"Of course," Laney replied as she held in a yawn. "I'm sure we'll find something to do."
"You two always seem to manage." He chuckled and pulled the blankets back for her.
Laney climbed onto the bed and let Loki cover her with the blankets, then watched as he climbed into bed too. "I think we're going to start her unpacking tomorrow."
"Don't forget that you need to mostly rest for now." He said and moved closer so he could hold her. "Need to keep you healthy and strong."
"I know. I'll probably just fold clothes and deal with the light things," she said tiredly.
"Alright darling. Get some sleep." He said softly and kissed her forehead.
"Goodnight love."
