Sophie's POV
As soon as the games started I started levitating. As soon as I deemed myself high enough I used my telekinesis to grab a set of throwing stars. Suddenly a dagger flew out of seemingly nowhere and hit me right in the shoulder blade. I cried out and lost my focus, plummeting down to the ground. As I hit the ground my ankle sent jarring pain throughout my body.
I cried out. I stumbled to my feet, hoping that I could make it to the icy tundra on the other side of the arena. I started walking only to trip and fall in a few moments.
Suddenly my darling son Kenric was there. He helped me to my feet and used his telekinesis to levitate me up. I helped a little with my own levitation skills, but my energy was pretty depleted and I struggled to help him. He started running to the tundra, having already anticipated my move.
We finally reached the tundra, and quickly met up with a few friends, Tam, Umber, and Briella Vacker, and Tiana Dizznee accompanied by Wylie, Linh, and Luna Endal-Song.
Tiana, being only five, was crying. Linh was trying to soothe her to no avail.
"Mama, Dada, and Sissy are all going to the big fight at the corn horn thingy! They might die! I might be orphaned! I have no other family in the hell-hole!" The child cried.
"Language Tiana!" Linh scolded.
"Sorry," The girl said sheepishly, "I heard mama say that about Dada's mommy and daddy's ice palace. She said, and I quote, 'We are never staying here again. Now let's get out of this no warmth at all hell-hole.' I'm not lying!" Everyone giggled, it did sound like something Marella would say so no one doubted the child's words. But Tiana had unknowingly created more worry and stress about the impending doom that might come sooner for some people's family members.
I felt a pang of worry, my own two daughters, Kenric's twin sister Gisella, and their younger sister Calla, and my husband Keefe were risking their lives heading to the cornucopia to gather supplies in an effort to help our families get through this disaster that was ruining our lives.
I sat down in the surprisingly warm snow (it sounds so weird to say that) and tried to push thoughts of death out of my head as the storm raged on.
But the cold never bothered me anyway.
Calla's POV
As soon as the games started I ran towards the cornucopia. No one in my family thinks I'm strong enough to do it. They all say, "Determination isn't enough. You have to be strong and smart, and big enough to fight the others. You'll never make it out there so don't even try." But I'll prove to them I can do it! Just they wait!
I hurtled forwards, taking the time to shove a red head into the dirt. She sputtered and coughed. Then I leapt into the action. I was whirling around, attacking people and gathering supplies until I saw my friends and family dying. Dex was already dead and Marella was stabbed back by some dark haired guy. He pulled out the knife and plunged it into her gut next. Then he just left her there, the knife still impaled in her gut, dying a slow and painful I imagine death. I ran to her side amd watched her die before getting up and looking for her killer.
And then I saw Alvar Vacker. We are in love, in secret. I'm five years younger than him but to elves that's nothing. And when I saw my boyfriend getting attacked I started running. Alvar was stabbed in the gut three times. Then I killed his attacker, a black haired man with glasses and a scar on his forehead. I knelt by him, holding his hand as he died. He smiled up at me, and whispered, "I love you Callie."
I sobbed, and touched my forehead too his. "I love you too Alvar." And then he died. And I was stabbed in the back.
I fell forward, moaning in pain and then someone dug their foot under me and flipped me over. She dug her foot into my chest and pointed her sword at my neck. My blood dripped off onto me.
Then she laughed and stabbed me in the heart, before pulling the sword out. Blood started pouring out and she leaned down towards me, "You little bitch. You killed my husband, and now I am killing you. Nighty Night!" And then she laughed again and walked off, her red hair swishing behind her as she went.
I looked up, breathing my last breaths, my heart beating it's last beats, and I saw Alvar, smiling at me, holding a ghostly hand out to me. "Come on Callie, take my hand, we will be together forever."
And as I lay dying, I took his hand, happy, and ready to spend the rest of eternity with my one true love.
So I lied, there will be three more of these multi character chapters. Sorry! And I hope that death at the end was beautiful and poetic. Fingers crossed that I did a good job with it!
