Chapter 5 The First of Many:

Marcy panted as she ran to Terri's house. Her godfather, Grime had come over and she did not want to deal with his and Yunnan's sibling rivalry. She knocked on the door. The door flew open showing a muscular man with dark blue hair and brown eyes. He looked at Marcy.

"Here for Terri?" he asked.

Marcy nodded and he stepped out of the way. Marcy walked up the stairs and entered Terri's room. Terri turned in her chair and looked at her.

"About time you got here," she said.

Marcy smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry, Grime and Sasha stopped by and I couldn't find any patience to deal with his and my Ma's sibling rivalry," she said.

Terri chuckled before handing something to Marcy.

"I managed to get Jess and Ally to design it. Try it on," she said.

Marcy nodded and walked into the bathroom. A few minutes later, Marcy came out of the bathroom wearing the suit. It was a black skin tight suit with green stripes running down the sides, white web-like designs and a black spider on the front and back. Marcy flexed her arms.

"This is awesome," she said.

Terri nodded.

"There's also a voice changer installed into the mask so if you encounter anyone we know, they won't recognize you," Terri said.

"Remind me to thank Jess and Ally," Marcy said.

A beeping sound was heard on Terri's computer and she turned towards it.

"That's gonna have to wait, Marce. There's a bank robbery over on 21st street," she said.

She tossed an earpiece at Marcy who caught it.

"Put that in. It's so I can alert you about what's going on through the city," she said.

Marcy put the earpiece in and climbed on top of the window seal.

"Hey, be careful alright? I don't plan to get my ass handed to me by an angry Thai teenager," Terri said.

Marcy gave her a thumbs up and jumped off the window. She shot a web and swung towards the bank. She landed on top of a street light and saw three men dressed in black run out of the bank with duffel bags filled with money.

"Didn't your mother tell you that it's wrong to steal?" Marcy asked.

The three men turned to her.

"It's that spider kid from the news," one of them said.

Marcy raised an eyebrow.

"Technically,I'm a teenager. Now I'm only going to give you one chance to return the money and turn yourselves in," she said.

The leader snorted and the three men pulled their guns out. Marcy put her hands up.

"Hey, I'm not here to fight," she said, casually.

"Like hell you're not," the smallest one mumbled.

They fired their guns at her. Marcy jumped off the lampost. She landed on the ground and got into a fighting stance. The tallest one ran at her. Marcy moved to the left to dodge a punch. She delivered a roundhouse kick to his jaw sending him tumbling to the ground. The second one fired a bullet at her. Marcy ducked to avoid it and shot a web to take the gun away.

"Who even brings a gun to a fist fight?" she asked.

She heard a buzz go off in her head and she turned around to block a punch. Marcy grabbed the goon's arm, threw him over shoulder and into his partners. The three men fell on the ground in a pile of limbs. Marcy grinned under her mask.

'I knew those karate lessons would come in handy' she thought to herself.

She heard sirens as she tied the goons up. Marcy bent down to the goons' level.

"Welp, I should be heading out. Catch you dudes on the flip side," she said.

Marcy shot a web and swung through the city.

"Marcy, can you hear me?" Terri asked.

Marcy pressed a hand to her ear.

"I can hear you loud and clear," she said.

"Alright. I take it the web shooters are working well," Terri said.

Marcy nodded.

"Yep! The voice changer works too. I doubt anyone we know would recognize me," she said as landed on top of a building.

Terri let out a hum.

"There doesn't seem to be anymore robberies so you can head back home," Terri said.

Marcy nodded and jumped off a building into an alleyway. She changed out of her suit and walked home. She opened the door to her house and saw her mothers sitting on the couch watching TV. She closed the door. Olivia turned to her youngest child as she walked towards the stairs.

"You're home early. I thought you were studying with Terri," she said.

Marcy shrugged.

"She had to help her Dad with something so we decided to finish tomorrow after school," she said.

Olivia nodded as she turned to the TV. Marcy walked up the stairs and went to her room. She changed into a green pajama shirt and a pair of black sweatpants. She plopped down on her bed and looked at the ceiling. That was a bit easy but Marcy's sure that there's going to be more difficult criminals. She turned over and fell asleep.
