Chapter 19 What's Up Danger?:

Three hours have passed since Anne and Sasha left. Marcy has yet to leave her room, not wanting to deal with her mothers' concerned looks or the guilt that she's shutting everyone out again.

"There has been another attack. Citizens are wondering where the Calamity Spider is. Has our hero abandoned us?"

Marcy huffed as she heard the TV downstairs.

'Some hero. How is a 15 year old supposed to save a city?' she thought to herself.

She buried her face into her . What was she supposed to do? She's just some kid playing hero. She wasn't her mother who saved lives 24/7. She's not Mark who's been protecting her since they were little kids but Mark isn't here. He's gone. He's gone and she couldn't save him. She choked on a sob as she curled up into a ball. After a few minutes, a knock on her door was heard making Marcy's ears perk up.

"Marcy, it's your mom. Can I come in?" Yunan asked.

Marcy stayed silent. Yunan huffed.

"Kid, I can hear you breathing," she said.

Marcy froze but still stayed silent. Yunan sighed.

"I get it. You want to be alone. Especially now considering that this is your first birthday without your brother," Yunan said.

'Thanks for putting salt on the wound, Ma' Marcy thought to herself.

"Your mother and I miss him too, ya know," she heard Yunan say.

Was she crying? Marcy was surprised by this considering that this is the first time she ever heard her mother cry. She's seen her upset but she never sees or hears her cry.

"I know it may seem like we don't but we do. Liv is still trying to accept but it's difficult to accept the death of a child especially when it's your own kid or in your case brother. But I do miss him even if we fought," Yunan said.

Marcy let a quiet "Snrrk". Mark and her mother would argue from time to time whether it was Mark's grades or why he got detention.

"Sometimes people drift apart. It happened with me and my father, it happened with me and Mark. Marcy, I don't want that to happen to us. I know I don't always do the things you need me to do or say the things you want me to say, but I see this burning flame in you and it's amazing! I know when you see it, you'll use it," Yunan said.

Marcy didn't speak. Yunan's radio went off.

"We need all units over on 56th street," a female officer said.

Yunan huffed and placed her hand on the door.

"I've got to go now kiddo," she said.

She placed her forehead against the wood.

"I love you, Nu'er," she whispered.

Yunan turned and walked away. Marcy sat there silently. She could feel something building up inside of her just like on the day Mark died but instead of anger, it was determination. She clenched her fists causing sparks to fly out and throughout her room. Marcy stood up and looked at her hands. Green sparks flew out of her fingers. She turned to the mirror and saw her eyes glowing green. Marcy grabbed her suit and climbed out of the window. She landed on the ground and walked towards Jess and Ally's workshop.

( Two hundred miles per hour with a blindfold on, mama always asking "where did I go wrong?")

Marcy walked into the workshop and blinked when she saw her friends in the middle of the room. Terri gave her a smirk.

"Took you long enough," she said.

Marcy chuckled as she walked towards them.

"Sorry," she said.

Anne went to hug her. Marcy hugged her back as Sasha walked towards them.

"Welcome back, Nerd" she said, smiling.

Marcy smiled as she and Anne broke the hug.

"Good to be back. So, what's the plan to take out Andrias?" she asked.

"Jess and I got a plan but first, your web shooters need an upgrade" Ally said.

Marcy raised an eyebrow.

(What's up Danger? What's up Danger?)

Marcy climbed up the stairs of a tall building.

"I see this burning flame in you, it's amazing! I know when you see it, you'll use it to,"

Marcy sat down on the side of the building as she looked down over the city.

"This family doesn't back down from fights"

"You're the best of all of us, Marcy…you're on your way"

Marcy let out a breath as she pulled her mask down and placed her hands on the windows. She moved her feet closer to herself.

"How do I know if I won't mess up?"

"You won't…Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith"

Marcy sucked in a breath and front flipped off the building.

(Like what's up danger?)

Marcy flew towards the ground. She could feel the wind hitting her face as she fell.

(Like What's Up Danger?)

Marcy put her arms to the side so she could gain more momentum. She flips over and shoots her webs. The webs flies upwards.

"These new web shooters should work with your electric powers"

"They fit like a glove"

Marcy closed her eyes and waited for her webs to catch her. She grunted as she was shot upwards.

(Can't stop me now! Traveled two hundred miles, I'm knocking at your door. And I don't even care if you ain't done wrong. What's Up Danger? Don't be a stranger! )

Marcy swings into the sky. She shoots another and lowers herself onto the street. Marcy runs down the street to gain more speed and jumps into the air.

(I'm right here at your door, I won't leave, I want more. What's Up Danger?)

Marcy grins behind her mask as she grabs onto a lamp post and swings herself into the air. She shot a web.

"WOOOOOH!" she cheered.

(What's Up Danger? I like high chances that I might lose. I like it all on the edge just like you!)

Marcy jumps from building to building eventually running across the window of a building. She jumped over a gap between two buildings.

(I like tall buildings so I can leap off of them. I go hard with it no matter how dark it is! What's Up Danger? Yeah, What's up Danger?)

Marcy landed on a building as she bent over to catch her breath. She pulled her mask up as she took a few breaths.

"Marcy," Terri's voice sounded.

Marcy pressed a hand to her ear and turned the earpiece on.

"Yeah?" she asked.

"I managed to hack into Andrias Industries security cameras. There's a lot of goons guarding the basement but I don't see Andrias," Terri said.

Marcy nodded and stood up.

"Marcy, be careful. We don't know what could be waiting for you," Anne said.

Marcy nodded.

"I'll be fine Anne. Besides I still owe you a second date," Marcy said.

No answer. Marcy chuckled slightly knowing she made Anne flustered. She turned her earpiece off. She took a step back and jumped off the building. Marcy shot a web and headed towards Andrias Industries. She doesn't know if she'll make it out but she does know she's putting an end to this, once and for all.

(A/N: This story is going to be the death of me if I keep getting writer's block. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter and get ready for the final fight)
