"So now it's time to talk about Justin, who you have a very open crush on through the second season, though many people thought it was odd. How did you feel about people talking about your relationship with him, and kind of using that to make fun of you? Did you just have a friendship with him, or was just a crush? And also, why did you give him a blowjob when you were with Izzy?"
Owen started blushing, "What a LOADED question Josh. Anyways, ALL of the guys were attracted to Justin. All of them have said it several times, though it was usually when we were resting and not when we thought it would be on the show. I don't pretend to be anything, or hide anything from the cameras, so I was the only one honest about it. Justin also flirted with all of the guys, and liked teasing people with limits, so him and I went back and forth around the Cowboy challenge, and it lead to a 69. Sorry, I am getting ahead of myself. I complimented him from the first time we met, and he didn't speak much, so I wasn't cool with him like that. It wasn't until after the finale, where I asked him to teach me how to give a lap dance, since he gave some to the other Gophers. He wanted to make a mark in the season, and asked me about how it felt to be a fan favorite, and a producer favorite, while dealing with all of the pressure from the few days we were in the real world. We became VERY close during our time on the Killer Grips, and had such a fun time in the same tent. All of us guys had a good ass time. He even gave me some nice procedures and stuff."
Josh was getting annoyed, "I. WANT. THE. TEA! WHY did you flirt with and hook up with Justin while you were in a relationship with Izzy? It's EVEN WORSE because you KNEW how much they hated one another, and how they got into fights ALL THE TIME. That does not make you a good boyfriend. And what has your friendship with Justin been like since?"
He looked down, unknown whether it was due to embarrassment, or trying to avoid tension, "Well, Izzy was hooking up with Lindsay all through that season, and we said that we could flirt and do our own things, but as long as our hearts were together, nothing else mattered. Justin and I only had that incident once, and AS SOON as Izzy came back, I never did anything else with him, I PROMISE. Justin and I actually got along due to both of our families having financial issues, and he was advising me on what to do. He's just a person that makes you flutter inside, and makes you feel good. He has a great smile, and there's more to him than what the audience saw. After the show, we did lose touch. He got involved with the Drama Brothers, and I was not getting along with Harold at the time. I also got more close with Noah, who Justin was not close with, and we were just doing our own thing. There was no fallout or anything, since we have met up here and there over the years, and I did get invited to a few of their backstage tours, but in general, we are kind of casual friends at best, if you know what I mean."
"So I want to talk about Katie and Sadie. They only competed on one season, and both of them were booted early on, so I am sure you don't have many interactions with them. What did you think about them then, and what do you think about them now?" Josh asked, with his face showing a complete lack of interest.
A picture of the two women were given to Owen, and he went blank for over a minute, "Not really. The only thing I remember about Katie is that she helped take care of my jaw during the Aftermaths after I was booted, and she's very nurturing. I also remember her being able to drink like hell, so on the yacht, we would have drink offs with one another. Out of the two, I was closer to Sadie, but even then we were not the closest. We had a few conversations about being overweight on the island, and this was after Katie was booted. She was trying to find herself, since she was never without Katie, so I gave her some advice, and she said that it was an eye-opening experience. We tried to lose weight together on the "Action" aftermaths, and wanted to go through it together, but I couldn't help myself. We've had fun at parties and TD events over the years, but we are not friends."
Josh gave a nod, before hanging him another picture, "I honestly do not know how you feel about Leshawna, despite you two being on the Screaming Gophers, and being on 3 seasons together."
"We never had much of a relationship. Whenever there was a party after a challenge, or trying to motivate the Gophers, she and I were great motivators, and we could get along. But once it involved food, or hygiene, she FUMED at me. The way she cursed my ass out after the cooking challenge, though I shut her up by saying that she put me to watch the food, lmao. She said that she liked me when I showered, which I thought was a compliment at the time, but it wasn't. We are just two different people, and never interacted that much on the following seasons, though she DID help me with my gas issues and jaw right before we were both booted, and when we were on the Aftermath sets. I told her that she should leave Harold after I was booted again, which neither her nor Harold took well, and we all got into an argument about that. We tried to book a lot of the same gigs unknowingly for the next year after that. We didn't really speak before her early elimination in the third season, but when I was eliminated, she had A LOT to say about my breakup with Izzy, and I thought she was a hypocrite due to her having an affair with Al. We are just two different people, but I don't wish her any harm or anything, or any bad on her. A good person deep down."
"What are your thoughts on Lindsay?"
Owen received a picture of her, and gave a small smile, "I really liked Lindsay throughout the show, though we were never BFFFs. When she was not up Heather's butt, she had a lot of fun streaking and pranking people with Izzy and I. I was one of the several people who tried to get her away from Heather, but she sadly had to learn the hard way. We got pretty close during the Killer Grips, and all of us were losing, so it caused some weird bond between the four of us. She rambled on and on about Tyler the entire time, so while it was was annoying, I think it showed that she was pretty depressed. We had a good time on that season overall. With "World Tour", it was clear to me that she didn't enjoy the show anymore, but she was also someone who yelled at me due to what happened with Izzy. I thought she would have been more impartial, but she laid into me even more than Leshawna did. I also think she was mad because I was still close with Justin. We have fun when we see one another, but aren't friends like that."
Josh knew this next one was going to be good, and saw the conflicted feelings on the blond man when he saw the next picture, "So you and Noah became best friends over the course of the franchise, but some felt like your friendship started on very odd and confusing terms, so what are your thoughts?"
A sigh and a smile both came from his facial expressions, "Noah was someone I was always confused by. I never got why someone so small and bite-sized could be so... bitter, so I wanted to get to know him. I remember him passing out before the second challenge, and everyone walked past him like it was nothing, so I picked him up and resuscitated him. After the challenge, he thanked me, since it bothered him that no one else cared. We never got to spend much time together due to him being canned early. We didn't speak until after I was eliminated from the second season, and he just made some wisecracking joke while I was recovering from my injury. He and Izzy actually got along during that time, so the three of us went touring around Toronto. I told him about Chris wanting me to be an intern for him after the season, and I told him that Noah would be a better choice. We got along SO WELL through the third season, and I never had such a close bro in the same way that I did with Noah. I felt like I could trust him 100 percent, and he accepted me for who I was. He knew stuff about Izzy and I that no one else knew, and he did try to warn me about the Eel, but I was too naive. We just started doing a bunch of shows and other things after "World Tour". He hid me from an angry Izzy and Eva after I was eliminated, since they wanted to fight. Even during the yacht, he had to be a protector of mine, since Izzy said that some of the shows Noah got, were meant for her."
"So what were your thoughts on "The Ridonculous Race"? Noah found his girlfriend, which caused you and him to change the dynamics of your relationship. I was told that by the time the spinoff came around, you both were planning on ending the reality tv journey. I also heard that the two of you fell out..."
His face became pained from the mention, "I wouldn't say... we... we fell out. The spinoff was a great opportunity, as I was depressed from not being allowed to compete on "All-Stars", and the other reality shows were drying up beforehand. Noah is someone who desperately wants to love, and to be loved, so seeing him and Emma get together was something I was all about. He saw how happy I was with Izzy, and tried to get Kitty and I together, but... the chemistry was not there. He would overhear Geoff and I talk about Izzy, and how much I missed her, which bothered him. After the show, him and Emma started doing things on their own, and I felt left behind, so I did go on the double gate with Izzy. He found out about it, and didn't like that I didn't tell him about it. The show offers stopped coming for the both of us, and even beforehand, he started doing shows with Emma, and not me. I was having money issues, and I had no idea what to do. I felt like he let Emma treat me a certain way, and make fun of how I was living, especially since he went to school. He is one of those people who lets their girlfriend take over their ENTIRE personality, and throws their friends under the bus. Emma and I were getting into it very badly, Kitty and I's friendship fell apart, and they... evicted me. Noah knew about it, and didn't tell me about it for a while, so I blew up on ALL of them. This happened like a year or so ago, and I haven't spoken to him since... I want to make up with him, but I don't know how."
Josh was actually very touched and saddened by it, "I've heard both sides of this issue, and I'm... I'm sorry. Hopefully you two can make up. Since we've talked about Sadie already, I want to know your opinion on Sierra."
An annoyed look appeared on his face, "Sierra is not someone I had a good relationship. I felt like she influenced Izzy to make a lot of bad choices on the third season, and it has gotten even worse. She was nice at first, but then you saw her creepy side pretty quickly. Cody was always so stressed out around her, and he wasn't like himself the entire time the season was taking place, because she was always crossing boundaries. She and Noah also had a lot of arguments through the season for one reason or another, which made me uncomfortable. I would try to talk to Izzy about Sierra, but she would always take Sierra's side. I remember after Jamaica, Sierra decided to speak up for Izzy, whom she visited when we were all in commercial, and we got into a BIG blowup about what I supposedly did, and I told her to butt out of our business, and she used Izzy to get on the show. It became even worse when we were on the yacht, since Sierra has sold EVERY NEGATIVE STORY about Noah and I that she could get her hands on, so we were both mad at her, and were mad at Cody for not stopping it. I've heard she's been in a facility over the years after Cody dumped her, and what happened in "All-Stars", but I am still not optimistic. She posted about Noah and I potentially having a fallout, without mentioning our names, but even that article she did brought a lot more attention to it."
"Second last person from your cast that we're gonna talk about," Josh mentioned, before giving him another picture, "What are your thoughts of Trent? You were on the same team as him on the two seasons he competed on."
He got a picture of the musician, and had a conflicted look on his face, "My relationship with Trent is weird and generally all over the place. For the first few episodes, I felt like he looked down on the others, since he was trying so hard to impress Gwen, who didn't like anyone at the time. He is someone who has a cool demeanor or whatever, but is very mysterious and guarded once you see the bigger picture. I could tell I was warming up to him during the outdoors challenge when I caught them fish, and told them stories of my awesome wilderness adventures. He started hanging out more with the guys after he and Gwen got together during the Boney Island episode, and he saw my skills to be really impressive. It wasn't until the yacht when the guys won where he started to tell us about his life, and he's actually a pretty interesting person. Him and I bonded a lot during that time, and learning how to deal with the infamous bro trio that we've heard so much about. Things kind of changed with "Action", though we did decide to bunk together, and he told me that he was going to focus more on the game. Of course that did not last, and him throwing the challenges was not cool AT ALL, ESPECIALLY since he told no one about it. He also put me in a weird position between his conflict with Duncan, as he wanted me to choose a side, and I didn't want to. I saw him do the 9 thing once during the Island, but I shrugged it off. He started doing all of that, which became creepy, and because he was telling me everything about their relationship behind the scenes, I would eavesdrop to see what would happen, and then he got mad at me for that, and then because my advice kind of helped them break up."
Josh's eyes perked up at this, "Oh, that's kind of juicy. So he blamed you for their breakup. How was things like after "Action", and through the next 11 or 12 years afterwards, leading up to the present day?"
"By the time of the third Aftermath, we were cool. I even got him and Gwen to hang out together beforehand, and the three of us had a lot of fun together. He really helped me out after being booted, and recovering to my normal self. We were on great terms by the end of "Action", and he showed me some of the songs that he wrote, which would eventually make it on the Drama Brothers first album. Duncan and him got into a VERY NASTY social media feud, and Trent once again wanted me to get involved, but they were both my friends, so that put a lot of tension within it. After a while, we stopped talking, since it wasn't like he wasn't hanging out with someone I didn't like. We did not make up until him and Gwen got together, and even then there was tension, since there were a lot of rumors that she cheated on Duncan with him to make it happen. Also, I felt like Trent was becoming a HUGE douchebag once he got into the group, and I didn't recognize him at all. It wasn't until he calmed the hell down, and his music career waned before we were able to become good friends. Trent got everything he wanted from the show, and is now learning how to be open with people. Trent makes me smile, makes me laugh, and is a good friend to have on your side. We speak very often, and he was the one that helped me once I was evicted from Noah and Emma's apartment."
"Wow, that is really interesting. Never knew you two had so many issues, but glad that you got over it," Josh commented with interest in his voice. "Now it's time to talk about the last person from your cast, Tyler."
Owen shrugged his shoulders once he received the picture, "Tyler is someone that I wanted to be friends with. I never got the chance to speak to him in the first season, since he was on the other team, and was booted very early. It wasn't until after I won where we got to speak about our adrenaline issues, and we got along very well. This was why we decided to team up with Cody and DJ during that special. When I was eliminated, Tyler was going through it, since he had to watch Lindsay and Justin flirt with one another, and I told him that she did think about him, and constantly asked about him. It would ease him for a while, but things kept on happening, and he would still stress out. We would go on walks together, and play a bunch of games together during the time. When I did return to the game, I told Lindsay about Tyler being worried and mad about her. We were on the same team during the third season, and I was looking forward to it, since I wanted to spend more time with Tyler, and hopefully he got his redemption. I wanted the TEA on what the hell happened with him and Leshawna, so that was fun finding out. He was always doing something that was funny, stupid, or both that made me laugh, and we actually had conversations about doing reality shows together, since we were both doing a bunch of gigs before the season. At the same time, it was clear he was closer to Alejandro than he was to Noah and I, so our closeness was limited at some point. He did speak to me about Lindsay, and I was glad they became close."
Josh wanted to get deeper, "Since he thought he was close with Alejandro, did he help perpetuate some of these rumors that the former was spreading around? And how did you deal with him after the show?"
"Once I was eliminated, everything came clicking to me about all the HORRIBLE THINGS he did, and I realized that Tyler was... A PART of it, which hurt me. Once I arrived, I had a tough conversation with Tyler, and it was even worse because he was still defending some of his actions. We had a HUGE argument about it at the end of the season, and we were not on good terms entering the yacht, where we eventually did make up after a lot of trials and tribulations. I would like to consider us friends, since we do keep in touch throughout the years."
"We are going to get to the newer casts. Did you meet anyone from the "Revenge" or "Pahkitew" casts, and what are your thoughts on them in general," the interviewer inquired.
He had to think about it for a while, "I am definitely the closest to B and Brick out of the guys from the second cast, since we all spent time together once "All-Stars" was filming, and I speak to them on a regular basis. Staci is someone that I think is pretty fun when I see her. Dawn doing all of that magic stuff was pretty cool during the time I see her, and Anne Maria knows how to throw a party. I actually got along REALLY WELL with Dakota during that time, and she introduced me to Sam properly afterwards. Mike, Cameron, and Zoey are pretty cool acquaintances whenever I go to a party Trent and Gwen are hosting or whatever. Actually Cameron asked me for advice on what to do with the money after their season filmed, so we remained in good conversation about that, and Zoey did too after she won. Lightning is someone that's pretty fun when he isn't being an ass, which he does have a thick ass, and he throws some good parties too. Scott is a lame, and Jo is... so serious. She ALMOST makes Eva look better. Overall, nothing too close, but I don't have any issues with them. With the other cast, I tried getting to know Leonard, but he is just too damn creepy and delusional for my liking. We actually got into it at Sequesterville, which is "The Ridonculous Race's" version of Playa des Losers. I speak to Shawn, Jasmine, Beardo, and Ella. Sky and Dave are cool people from when I met them, but Sugar and I clashed HARDCORE. We DO NOT like one another."
Josh was glad to finally get to the person that he wanted Owen to talk about, "So the final person we are going to discuss today is Izzy. You both have positive, adventurous attitudes, and it caused for you two to bond throughout the first season. How did you see these events?"
"Well, I remember me talking about being hungry, and she said something about wanting a lunch buffet, and going on about the food competitions she engaged in. This conversation was on the first day, and I was shocked in a good way about it. I wanted to get to know her more, and we spoke about that after the first challenge, which we won, so we spoke at the party. Izzy and I talked about all of the adventures we did, and I really felt a connection with her, so when the rattlesnake dance happened, I felt our souls connect in a way that I haven't experienced before, and in a way I haven't experienced since... We stayed up all night talking about the bear prank, and what people didn't know is that we went out to fight some more bears. She was eliminated, but then she came back. We started right where we left off at the merge, and it was a lot of fun. After every challenge, and each night, we would play canasta together for hours. I remember us cuddling when we were on the plane to face our fears. When we actually hooked up, I made a HORRIBLE choice, and threw her to Chef. I regret that moment, and she was right to not speak to me about it for the rest of the season. It was one of the many things I regretted, and I was a coward, and a pussy for that."
He wanted to move on, "So Izzy forgives you, and I want to hear your process on that, and how you two handled things on "Action", and in the real world?"
Owen started to smile again, "She told me that after she was booted, she kept on thinking about me, and didn't want to end things on a bad note. Apparently she, Lindsay, and a few other people came up with this elaborate plan to get me to win, and it was her way of saying that she forgave me. We spent the next week or two just hanging out at Playa des Losers, doing whatever we did, and it was one of the happiest moments of my life. Of course the money was lost, and when we started the next season, I thought her going on that date was weird, and she came up with these nicknames that were so random, and made no sense. I tried to talk to her about it, but Izzy wouldn't divulge. We were together, but we had a more open situation at times, and she was mad about Justin, but we made up. When she returned that time, that was when our relationship was at its best, and most committed. I saw another side of her, she saw another side of me, and I realized that she's a sensitive but sweet soul that's actually quite fragile. Everything just seemed so peaceful, serene, and I've never been so in love with anything beforehand. When I was eliminated after she was, we started planning our futures together, and it was so nice. We first did the bagel stick sex dance after the Hospital challenge, and we were stuck together like glue from that point onwards. When we got to the real world, things got more challenging..."
Josh raised his eyebrow, and leaned forward, "How did things become more challenging? Izzy said that you two saw one another every weekend, and that there were no issues between the two of you for the next year and a half."
"That's the thing; we lived in two opposite areas in Canada, and we were not only still in school, but focusing on our own careers. She was an actress, and I was picking up any gig that I could get to recover my family's financial situation. There were times where I had to travel to the US in a random hotel to see her. We knew that once we graduated, that we would be able to leave our parent's houses, and buy an apartment together for ourselves. That was the goal, but I noticed that she started hanging out with Sierra a lot more, and she was someone that was reporting HORRIBLE things about the entire cast. Not only that, but she was a MAJOR reason why Sierra even got on the cast to begin with. "World Tour" was the longest amount of time we had to be with one another in the game before one of us were booted, and we were doing fine here and there, though we were still dealing with our fear of planes. I just noticed that her behavior was different compared to the past two seasons, and she was becoming more reckless."
"Why didn't you tell her any of this? Izzy said that you NEVER told her about your inquiries through the season, when you have always done so in the past had you had any issues. How did you handle the breakup? We also got told that you and Noah planned the whole ordeal with the producers, and had her essentially brainwashed."
His eyes started wandering around the room, his face started to get more red as he got nervous, "I didn't brainwash her, but... I... I did talk to the producers about it. They told me that they would handle it if she lost her mind after I told her, and I didn't remember seeing them or Noah in the infirmary tent. It wasn't until after DJ was gone that Noah told me about it. I was a coward with how I handled the entire situation, and while she did know about how I felt about Sierra, she didn't know everything. I was eliminated, and tried to speak to her, but was confronted by a VERY ANGRY Eva, who cursed me out, and told me that Iz wanted nothing to do with me ever again, so I laid back. There were so many times where I tried to speak to her, but would cower out, whether it was at the Aftermath hotels, or even back home when the season was airing. We were on the yacht the following season, and we would sit together at times, waiting for the other to start the conversation, but we were always cut off. I told Geoff about all of this, which was 4-5 years after when we broke up, and he was able to arrange us to meet up."
"So what happened?"
"Honestly, it was very fun. We hadn't spoken in about 6-ish years at that point, and hearing about everything she was up to since the show. It was very fun, since we did almost everything that we could do, and it was like old times, which was a relief, but also very scary, since it wasn't old times. We were supposed to keep in touch, but we never did. We did follow one another on social media, but still didn't speak a whole lot. I did call her a few times over the last few years, and we aren't together, but I would like to say that we are friends now, which is great. She has wanted to know more and more about how I've been, though a part of me still skeptical about her potentially spilling things to Sierra, especially if it's about Noah."
Josh stretched out his neck, before asking his final set of questions to wrap things up, "So here is the last things I want to know. What have you been up to since the show ended, and what did you learn throughout your entire experience on Total Drama?"
Owen just started talking before he thought of anything, "Well like I mentioned earlier, I did any type of reality show that I could with Noah since "World Tour", and right when we were about to stop, I was blocked from "All-Stars", so we continued doing any show we could. After "The Ridonculous Race", Noah and I did some more reality shows, but then it became more about him and Emma. I got a few more gigs on my own, but that started to die down quickly, and... I didn't know what to do after the calls stopped calling. I didn't save much of the money I got from "Total Drama" or the other shows, so I was left in a VERY POOR position. I've been struggling, since the calls stopped coming around 3-4 years ago. I lost my house, I lost my money, and I had to live with my parents for a while. It was like I went back to how things were like before "Total Drama", as a 15 year old who had nothing for himself. During this time, I ended up just going into the woods to think about where things went wrong, and how I could get out of this situation. But then, I realize that I could live in the woods, or at least become a wilderness guide or whatever. So I have been working on that for the last several months, and things are starting to improve from there. As for what I learned..."
He was waiting for Owen to continue, since the blond man went silent for over a minute at this point, unsure if Owen zoned out or not, "Uh... Owen, you were in the middle of a thought. You were about to describe what you learned from the experience, but then paused."
"That's the thing... I don't know if I learned anything. Personality-wise, I didn't change, as I always knew that I tended to screw things up, and I saw things as positively and as light-hearted as I always have. I lived in the moment before the show, and continued doing that after the show. I still love to eat a lot, though I have tried my best to portion size. Due to my wilderness activities, I have lost some weight, but I don't know if the show in general taught me anything specifically. I won due to being myself, and there was nothing I really had to learn. Since then, I have learned how to assert more control of my life, but that was due to me losing everything after the show."
Josh stood up to shake Owen's hand, and help him get up, "Well, that sounds nice. I am shocked that you hit rock bottom, but proud that you are working on improving it. Nice seeing you, and take care."
