Thank's Asia Joanna 7334 for your review! I'm having a great time writing this so i'm glad to hear your enjoying it!

My phone called at that moment so I stepped away after looking at the number to take it. It was Sam Uley.

Jasper's PoV

"Jasper, thank you for picking up, we might have a situation here" Sam said, I could tell by his strained voice that he was stressed.
"What is it Sam?" I asked.
"The young boy, Jacob Black, he found out that Bella had left town with you, someone had seen you guys in a taxi together and when he found out he finally shifted. I had to shift to calm him down and that was when he learnt of our conversation. He's furious and wants to follow you guys down to make sure Bella stays human. I told him it's none of his business and Bella is nearly an adult, she is capable of making her own decisions with her life. What should I do? I have him currently knocked out but he's going to wake up soon" said Sam in a rush.
"Give me a minute, I'll call you back" I said then disconnected the call.

"Peter, Char?" I asked knowing they heard the conversation.
"A cub, he won't have much control over his abilities, Major" said Peter.
"He doesn't mean us harm, I've seen him once before at the prom, he has a good heart and means well. He could be a useful ally if we need help in a pinch, they can communicate to each other in their wolf form regardless of distance. Besides we trained newborns, how hard could one cub be?" I said.
"That just means if he wants to attack us, he can ask for backup without us knowing" said Char uncertainty.
"Yes but he isn't alpha so what Sam says goes, Rose I already know your opinion so i'll save my time, Bella, Jacob wants to join us, he's transitioned into a wolf and is very unstable, yes or no?" I asked.
"Sure" she said.
I sighed "You and I are having a talk later on about what you should and shouldn't agree too" I said.
"Well if I listened to that, I wouldn't be here with blood sucking vampires who can rip my arteries out in a second, how bad can one cub be if you trained newborns as you said. He's my friend. He hurts you, any of you, he hurts me and his ass is a phone call away from being beaten. I have known the elders since I was a kid. I know they value respect, honor and manners, he steps a paw out of line, i'll call them myself and they will personally drag his ass back to the reserve" she said. My jaw just dropped as had everyone else. Char just high fived Bella.
"I guess, we are having a wolf come over then" I said.

I dialed Sam's number regretting giving Bella a vote in this but damn did my heart not just cheer her on inside having heard her speech. She was growing feisty and more confident, she was turning into her old Bella again, opinionated and determined.
"Sam" I said as I heard him pick up.
"Jasper, so what's the plan?" Sam asked.
"He can come under the condition that he plays nice. Bella spoke up for him and said your people value respect and honor so I expect to see that from him regardless of his age. I'll send you the details for his flight and we will pick him up from the airport" I said.
"Bella is correct, he steps a paw out of line, just call and I'll personally come down there and take him back. You are aware that he is going to be unstable as a new cub?" Sam asked.
"Yeah, we've trained worse, sadly. What's the trigger so we know what buttons to press to help him get used to control?" I asked.
"You want to trigger his wolf form? Are you crazy?"
"I mean Bella is the one who said yes, but yes he's not going to learn control if he's treated like a bomb that could blow at any second"
"Good point, anger, get us mad or emotional and we pop into wolfs, our bites hurt your kind so be careful"
"Noted"
"Alright he's waking up, send me the details. I owe you Jasper, thank you"
"Bye for now"

I disconnected the call and resumed sitting next to Bella who was currently roasting marshmallows.
"A wolf Jasper, under the same roof" Rosie fumed.
"Oh he's not sleeping in the house, we should build a mini house off to the side of the property. He can have his privacy and we all won't be uncomfortable from each other's smell" I said as I poked the fire, getting it to roar with new life.
"Already ordering piping and electrical equipment" said Peter, ever ahead of us all.

Bella had just popped her first marshmallow into her mouth and was setting off amazing feelings of enjoyment then suddenly excitement.
"Okay you just thought of a brilliant idea, lets hear it" I smirked at her.
"We get high then eat marshmallows roasted on the fire!" she squealed.
"That's a good idea, we should do that when Jacob arrives. I think tonight once your asleep we will be busy building"
Rose just scoffed at the idea and started picking at her nails. Bella though, remembering my words, decided to put the princess on the spot.
"You should try it Rose, at least once before you decide you don't like it, it feels like flying"
"Maybe, I don't approve because of my past so I'll say maybe for now" she said gently.

Bella ate a few more marshmallows then we decided to start planning the foundations. Rosie, was going to keep Bella company while the rest of us worked, something about not ruining her nails. I kept tabs on what was happening inside and had a suspicion Rose was going to answer a question if Bella asked it so I pushed some confidence in small doses in Bella's direction from time to time and waited. Peter was delivering wood for us, I was carving it up while Charlotte was laying the foundations down after it was carved.

"Rosie, I know you never liked me before, I don't understand what's changed, why be kind now?" Bella asked.
"I never wanted you to be a part of our world. Our world is dangerous but I was blind. I never realized that the true danger would come from my own brother. He never should have left you like that, you could have died that night because of his actions. I was always worried danger would come to the family because of you knowing our secret, not that we would be scattered across the world because of him. If I could have changed the way I treated you, I would have kicked his butt out of the family and welcomed you with arms open. You have been nothing but kind to our family and I've been nothing but a monster, I am sorry Bella"
"It's okay, I forgive you. What happened in your past? You hinted at it before?" Bella asked.
"It's not a happy story, I was left for dead like you by men, one of them was supposed to be my love, we were to be married soon and I was going to have a family with children and a white picked fence. My life was perfect until that night. He had been drinking with his friends and it was late when I was walking home from a friend's house. I ran into them and after realizing the state they were in, I tried to leave. They wanted to see what I looked like without clothes, I was powerless, outnumbered and my love had turned into a monster. I was left on the side walk, bleeding, in pain from been raped. That is why I'm hesitant to enjoy life's substances. If Jasper hurts you in any way, please tell me, I will remove his head for a few hundred years" Rose said.
"Jasper has been nothing but kind and gentle," she said softly.
"I'm glad you had Jasper, if he hadn't confirmed that you were safe at home that night, I was about to drive by your house myself" she replied. I'm guessing that Bella nodded her head as nothing was said for some time till Rose broke the silence.
"It was bad ass hearing you talk down to my brother like that, it's nice to hear your opinion again. I hated how Edward and Alice would talk you into anything you didn't want to do or squash your choices. Like shopping trips or going to a stupid party"

Rose eventually joined us outside, since Bella went to read a book.
"She's sooo tiny, what did you do Jasper?" asked Rose
"Why does she smell like blood, she isn't cutting herself is she? That's really bad" asked Charlotte.
"She hardly speaks, she used to be so full of life, what did you do Jasper?" asked Emmett.
"Okay guys seriously, one question at a time alright, none of this was my doing, I spent four months watching her thinking she would move on and heal in time and she would heal better if I wasn't in her life. She's been eating better in the last few days, yes she cuts, I'm hoping a change of scenery will help improve that aspect, she doesn't want to die, she's just starving to feel something other than pain. So give her something else to feel like joy, fun, love, support. Yes I'm going to continue showing her my bad boy influence as you put it Rosie, its offered a window where she is briefly her old self almost and feels something other than spiraling depression, terror, anxiety or numbness. That speech she made was probably the most I've heard her talk in one sentence in a very long time. This is what she spent the last four months feeling" I said as I pushed her depression and numbness at full blast into their faces then her terror and anxiety from her nightmares. They had fallen to all fours trying to breathe as they digested her emotions at full blast just like I had struggled. I finally let up and they slowly stood all with apologetic looks on their faces.
"Why would you do that?" gasped Rosie.
"Now you know why I wanted to give her a break from her emotions, no one should have to feel that way all the time" I said, grateful that I finally could get what I've wanted to say since I arrived off of my chest.

Everyone stopped asking me questions for the rest of the night. I headed inside for a moment to take a break and check on Bella. I found Bella asleep in bed with one of her books still in her hand. So I placed her bookmark inside the book and draped the quilt over her. She looked peaceful and I didn't really want to leave her side. I'd spent the last four months watching her, it felt weird to take my eyes off of her for so long. The most I had ever done was half an hour, a quick hunt and I would be back to watching her. She rolled over in her sleep and her hand had grazed my arm as it flew through the air. I felt an overwhelming desire to stay with her which felt weird and foreign. I tore myself out of the room as silently as I could and threw myself back into work. She was Edward's potential true mate if her emotions were anything to go by.

Late in the afternoon the next day I drove Bella out to pick up Jacob from the airport. I had him fly economy so I sent Bella off in the direction of a book store to browse while I waited for him to come through the terminal. She happily obliged which gave me the opportunity to have a word with him first. A few minutes later I spotted him coming through with a backpack slung over his shoulder.
"Where's Bella?" he asked as he approached me.
"She's behind me in a bookstore, look, i'm not sure when the last time you saw her was but she's very different, smaller, fragile, I only brought her down south to help her heal and so far it's been working, she's eating more, engaging in conversations and doing activities. If you are here to hinder that progress, you can turn around right now and go back to Forks" I said.
"Honestly, I feel stupid that I stormed down here, about half way through the second flight I realized I had let the anger get the better of me. I was briefly told that would be an issue but I felt clear headed at the time. I see her now, she does look bad, did she eat in the past four months? I definitely don't want to hinder her progress so if it's okay, I'd like to stay, help and maybe you can teach me how to control my anger?" he asked. He was just a kid.
"Of course, I have a few friends that can help also, they are human drinkers but I think you would even approve of their choice. They only eat humans who have raped, killed, or done harm in some way to an innocent" I said lowering my voice and taking a step closer to Jacob to take his back pack from him.
"Well I don't approve but I guess I don't disapprove" he said.
"Jacob!" Bella called as she made her way over to us and was scooped up in his arms for a bear hug.
"Great, now you're going to smell like a wolf" I said under my breath.
"Deal with it Jasper, Jacob and I have been friends since we were babies!"
I sighed and led the way to the baggage terminal to collect Jacob's suitcase.

I had noticed Jacob kept his arm around Bella's shoulders but he wasn't trying to be territorial, it was friendly, mutual and Bella had her other arm around his waist. From their emotions and feelings, their friendship was no different to the one I had with Rose. Once we collected his suitcase, I led the way back to Peter's car and we sped off back to the house.

"So we did work very hard on getting your mini house up and running but we are waiting on a few supplies that have been delayed. When I was leaving they were waiting for carpet to arrive but we are hoping you can have your own place to stay so that we don't have to smell each other all night long" I said to Jacob who was sitting in the back.
"Oh wow, thank you, can I help in any way? Can you teach me? I never really got to build anything when I was younger so I'd be down to help or just watch" He said honestly.
"Yeah your father has been in a wheelchair forever, I guess no one else on the reserve taught you woodwork skills?" Bella asked.
"Nah, I did learn how to build cars but that was mostly online and trial and error"
I felt bad for the kid, having a father to teach you how to do certain things was some of the best memories of my childhood but his father was limited by his injuries.
"Tell you what Jacob, if by some miracle they have finished it, I'll find a different project that we can work on together" I said and immediately felt the kids heart burst into joy.

We pulled up outside the main house and I carried Jacob's belongings while Bella led him off in the direction of his new house. It was a simple cabin, a working kitchen, bathroom, lounge with a fireplace and TV and a bedroom.
"Char, Peter! Come meet Jacob" Bella called softly. They immediately zoomed forward to greet their new guest.
"Well howdy there Jacob, nice to meet you, I'm Peter and this is my wife Charlotte. We are about to start laying the carpet down in your room and Rose is working with the pipes to get water running" Peter said as he extended his hand to shake Jacobs.
"Can I help with anything?" He asked eagerly.
"Sure, have you ever done carpet before? I'm about halfway through laying down the underlay" Peter asked.
"No but I'd love to learn sir"
"Mmm I like this kid Jasper, alright come along, let me teach you" said Peter as he led him over to the house.

I left his bag and suitcase by the porch and led Bella back to the main house for some tea. She had been sneezing a few times on the way back and I was worried that her fragile body may have caught a cold.
"Here go curl up on the couch, I'll start a fire while the kettle boils and you can pick a movie" I said as I steered her to the couch and passed the remote to her. Bella obliged and pulled a throw blanket over her body. I fired up the kettle and made quick work with the fireplace then passed her a peppermint tea with honey.
"How do you feel?" I asked as I sat next to her.
"Cold and hot at the same time, my head hurts like I have a headache and I feel really weak like I have a flu," she complained.
"Mmm well finish your tea, it will help, you probably just caught a cold or a flu, it should pass in a few days hopefully" I said. Bella found a random animal documentary to put on and finished her tea.
"Alright come here" I said as I took her cup from her to place on the coffee table and pulled her gently to lay her head on my lap. I then rested my hand on her forehead that was indeed burning up.
"Mmmmm thank you Jasper, that's perfect" she murmured as she stretched her legs out at the other end of the couch under the blanket.
"Your wish is my command Bella, but do we have to watch my dinner on the screen, this is making me hungry" I said as I rubbed gentle circles into her shoulder with my other hand.
Bella giggled then changed the documentary to one about ancient discoveries. Soon she fell asleep and I pulled out my phone to read to pass the time. I also sent a text to Rosie to go fetch some medicine for Bella to help her recover faster.

"Well Major, that kid might have a few anger issues but boy does he want to learn how to do everything. He'd make one hell of a ranch hand later in life. We finished his cabin off, just needs electricity which will arrive tomorrow and he should be set up. Oopse sorry Major" said Peter not realizing Bella was asleep. Thankfully she was so exhausted from her symptoms that she barely stopped snoring.
"Its fine, she's unfortunately coming down with a cold or maybe the flu. I should have expected this with her fragile body in the state it's in. Planes are literally air bubbles of recycled air from everyone else, chances are she caught something there or at the airport" I said.
"Ah so that's how you got roped into keeping her head cool, you don't look terribly uncomfortable though if you don't mind me saying so" said Peter.
"I do mind, she's not mine, I just care for her, she was left alone with no protection or even a friend that she could talk to about us"
"Mhm, well it looks like she's coming to, I'll go boil the kettle and make her another tea" Peter said.

Emmett and Rose came in to sit in the love seat. "Where's the pup?" I asked.
"Char is taking him horse riding to see the property and the surrounding area. He's never been horse riding, never used a hammer or nail before, the pup is literally in heaven" said Rose.
"Yeah it's kinda sad, my best human memories were learning things from my father, learning how to build, I bet he doesn't even know how to set up a campsite" said Emmett sadly.
"Well maybe you should show him, go hiking, I know that's your thing Emmett and he needs friends right now. Friends that he can lose control at and know that he's not going to seriously hurt us" I said.

"Mmmmmmm" grumbled Bella as she stretched out her limbs like a cat. I helped her to slowly sit up and immediately regretted it, having felt how foggy her head felt from the sudden rush of blood.
"Here, darling, here's another tea, are you hungry at all?" said Peter as he passed her another peppermint tea while I rubbed my head mirroring her movements.
"How about I make you some chicken soup Bells?" asked Rosie who had moved to feel Bella's forehead and was watching me with concern. Bella nodded her head and sipped at her tea. Rosie zoomed off to go bang around in the kitchen, in her haste she dropped a pot on the floor which both caused me and Bella to lean forward and grab our heads.
"Rosie! Slow please" I growled.
"Oopse, sorry" she said.
"Bella, how about we go sit on the deck for some fresh air?" I asked.
"Sure" she replied.

Once outside in the fresh air, I helped Bella to sit down on the stairs after wrapping her in a blanket to keep warm. We both began to feel better after a few minutes, which was a comfort. I could easily just put some distance between us but that didn't seem fair when Bella couldn't do the same. Jacob was just coming back with Char, riding Rocket while Char was on Luna. I guessed he was a fast learner as Char let him have full control of Rocket and he expertly guided him into the barn to be brushed down after his walk.

"Char, Rosie is currently making soup for Bella as she isn't feeling well, did you have any dinner plans in mind for Jacob that I can help with?" I asked from where I was sitting knowing they would hear.
"Oh that's a shame, I was going to roast a chicken and do some vegetables, how much do you pups eat?" she asked Jacob.
"I could probably eat all of that, but don't feel like you have to go all out, I can survive on less" he said politely.
"Nonsense, if you're hungry you should eat, can you care for Luna and I'll go get started in the kitchen. I also wanna make sure Rosie doesn't set fire to anything, I've never seen her in the kitchen before and I'm pretty sure we don't have cans of soup" said Char as she suddenly zoomed past me to her precious kitchen.

Suddenly there was a commotion inside which I realized I would have to deal with.
"How am I supposed to make Bella chicken soup with no cans of chicken soup!" roared Rosie.
"Milady can you please excuse me to go deal with a certain blonde, i'll be back in a minute" I asked Bella.
"Have fun" she smirked at me.

I made my way inside to find Rosie fuming, Emmett trying to calm her down and Peter shaking his head at the commotion while staying safely out of it.
"Rose, how was chicken soup made when we were kids, you kill the chicken, you pluck out the feathers, you carve it up, and you cook it with vegetables. Honestly, what did you expect?"
"I thought we lived in the twenty-first century!" she snapped back.
"Rose!" I growled, giving her a warning.
"I'm sorry, let me go find some vegetables to pick, peel and chop up," said Rose with spite laced into her words. I followed her out into the garden despite her glare.
"Look at the way they live their lives, Rose, they enjoy making stuff from scratch, this deck alone took a fifty trees. Life is more rewarding when you can recount stories such as sitting back on a completed deck watching the sun rise. You yourself appreciated the fact that they didn't just throw money away and made things using their hands so why are you so surprised?" I asked as I rested a hand on her shoulder.
"Bella's sick and I just wanted to help not realizing how difficult that would be, I don't even know how to kill a chicken" she said while holding back tears.
"It's okay, I'll go kill the chickens and de feather them, just dig around in the dirt for some root vegetables, there are little pictures standing out of the dirt indicating where they are buried" I said as I pulled my spoiled sister in for a hug.
"Thanks Jasper" she mumbled into my shoulder.

I made my way back to Bella who was currently asleep again on Jacobs shoulder. I leaned down to feel her temperature, she was still warm but better than what she was inside.
"Here let me" I said as I carefully scooped her up into my arms and carried her to a wooden bench that had soft cushions. I laid her down then found a light blanket and a pillow for her head.
"Wanna kill some chickens?" I asked quietly at Jacob who was watching from behind. He nodded eagerly so I led him over to the coup and we left Bella to rest.

I started setting up the boiler while Jacob turned the hose on for the table and fetched some sharp knives. I quickly broke down what was required and how bad the smell would be in case he wanted to change his mind. After breaking that down we picked two chickens, placed them into death cones and I showed him how to cut them. Once they had stopped twitching we then dunked them into hot water for about twenty seconds and he followed my instructions for removing the feathers watching attentively.
"Okay the next part is the gross part that you're welcome to not participate in if you need to hurl. It's not for everyone, I just grew up on a farm so I'm used to it now. We are going to cut here and here then scoop inside with our hands to take out the insides like this" I said as I started to follow through with what I was saying. I expected the city boy to hurl but he took a deep breath and started on his chicken. We then thoroughly cleaned the inside of the rib cage with water and the outside again making sure all the feathers were removed.
"Here you take these babies inside to Char and I'll clean up, you did better than I thought, good job Jacob" I said as I passed him a clean tray with the clean chickens on them. Once I had finished cleaning up I passed by Bella who was awake and reading a book but feeling a lot better which was good to see.
"Hey there, Jacob helped murder and clean a chicken today, how are you feeling?" I asked as I sat down next to her.
"Still groggy, my throat is beginning to hurt but Rose should be out with a tea soon and she gave me a dose of some medicine. It's nice to see you and Jacob getting along" she said.
"He's very eager to learn," I said.

I could hear inside that Jacob was currently helping Char in the kitchen. She had him stuffing one of the chickens for roasting while Emmett was chopping vegetables. Char was chopping the other chicken up into smaller pieces for soup while Peter was peeling vegetables. Rose soon came out with a blueberry and honey tea for Bella to sip at.
"The wolf stinks but he's very helpful and wants me to show him how to fix up ducati bikes, I may have let it slip that you happen to have one and that you were probably going to have it transported down here eventually" she said as she sat down on the stairs facing us.
"Well tomorrow the honeymoon is over, we are going to get him mad and work on his control so you and Bella need to find something to do for the day.
"What do you want to do Bella?" asked Rosie.
"Sleep? Movie marathon involving many naps? Drink tea, maybe read outside for a bit, pat these mystery dogs I hear about but haven't seen yet" Bella replied.
"We could probably do all of that outside if you want, you seem to be feeling better, I can move the TV so we can watch it out here and paint your nails if you want" Rosie said warmly.
"Sure" said Bella as she nestled her head on my shoulder.
"You still can't be tired?" I said as I gently brushed her hair out of her face.
"No just leaching your cold for my burning head" she mumbled.
"Ah" I said. Rose had made her way back inside giving us the sense of privacy although there would be none of that with four other vampires and a wolf under the same roof.

Some time later we all sat down at a table outside next to our hot tub and barbecue area to eat or watch the humans eat. We had called the huskies over and they were currently zooming around the field, play fighting while a few napped. One of the runts of the most recent litter had taken to sitting in Bella's lap and she happily patted the girl every few minutes while eating. Jacob had a full roast chicken with stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips and sweet potato while Bella had all of that just in soup form with added celery and onion.
"This is amazing, are you sure you don't want any Bells?" said Jacob.
"Alright fine can I have a chicken drumstick please? This is amazing, I've never had food taste so good before" she said as she happily sunk her teeth into the drumstick Jacob had passed to her.
Char was beaming with pride and the rest of us chatted away while Jacob and Bella devoured their meals. It was the second meal Bella had eaten all day, having only consumed toast and eggs this morning. How ever Bella devoured her bowl of soup, asked for a second bowl and had a chicken drumstick from Jacob's chicken. It was a nice scene, Peter had started another campfire up so that afterwards we all sat around the fire and I had pulled out my guitar to strum away a few country songs.

"Alright everyone let's let the humans sleep, my thinker is telling me something is coming and we should get an early start for tomorrow and expect something bad around midday"
"You know sometimes I hate your ability captain" I said, putting my guitar down reluctantly.
"I get what I get, let's move it along" he said. I looked at my watch, it was only nine at night.
"Alright Jacob, training starts at dawn, so set your alarm for five" I said as I slinged my guitar over my shoulder and extended my hand to Bella to help her stand.
"Alright goodnight then, sleep well Bella" he said before stretching his limbs and heading off to his cabin. I led Bella off to our room and she found her way to the shower after assembling shorts and a tank top to wear to bed. The runt that she had named Mia was deposited on my bed and was currently looking at me. I wasn't sure if it was toilet trained so I quickly took it outside after I hung up my guitar. She relieved her self then bolted back into the house to find Bella. I always liked how loyal dogs were and it seamed this one wasn't going to leave Bella's side any time soon. I sat down next to Mia and sent a text out to Carlisle. I had a suspicion of who might be visiting us and why.

'Hey Carlisle, Peter has a feeling, and I'm just wondering if that feeling includes Edward and Alice, are they still staying with you?' - J
'Hey son, it's good to hear from you, how's Bella? They were staying with us but they left last night without so much as a goodbye, they left a note saying they were fine and that's all I know' - C '
Bella has a cold or the flu but she is getting better every day. Thank you, i'll be in touch if I need help' - J

Bella had emerged from the bathroom, dressed and drying her hair with a towel.
"So I think I might know who is coming, do you want to know or do you prefer to be surprised? Although it's not much of a surprise in my opinion" I asked as I started to towel dry her hair for her once she sat next to me on the bed.
"It's them isn't it?" she whispered.
"I think so, they were staying with Carlisle and Esme but they took off last night without a goodbye, just left a note"
"Wonderful, can we booby trap the house by chance?" she asked.
"I wish. At least we know what time frame they will be arriving by. If you want, you and I can go somewhere else but I suspect they will just follow" I said.
Bella just nodded her head so I carried the towel to hang up to dry overnight and turned off the lights.
"Jasper?" Bella said just as I was about to close the door softly behind me so she could sleep.
"Yes Bella?" I asked from the doorway.
"Can you stay tonight please?" she asked quietly.
"So you can leach my coldness from me in your sleep, of course, scooch over" I said as I closed the door and made my way to my bed to lay down. I had intended to lay on top of the covers but Bella had pulled them back for me then covered me up once I had laid down. I lifted my arm up so she could lay her head on my chest then I lowered my arm over her body. She was still burning up a little bit and I knew she needed to keep her temperature down to help fight whatever sickness she had so I wasn't worried that she would get cold. Mia jumped up and settled behind Bella's legs for the night after giving her a few licks on her hand. If Edward and Alice were indeed on their way, Alice would be seeing this vision and therefore so would Edward. I resisted the urge to pull the fingers and instead gently stroked Bella's hair till she fell asleep.
