Three beautiful, sweet, peaceful months later…

Jasper's PoV

It had been three months, three beautiful months of mostly laying in bed, exploring each other, kissing, hunting and sex, oh the sex. We had both grown as a couple and were both completely comfortable finally with our bodies. To say we were as bad as Emmett and Rose had to be an understatement of the century. All we did once we got to the point of been comfortable was mark each other, have sex and occasionally leave our room to hunt. We had explored the pool, sauner, spa and movie theater but to say we used the rooms for their purpose would be a lie. We had lasted maybe five minutes before tearing each other's clothes off and doing it in every room, never needing more than five minutes before going again. Not tiring as a vampire had to be the best perk when you were truly in love with someone and as soon as Bella gave me permission, I was relentless in getting her to and over and over wanting to make up for lost time and to shower her in my love. I was beginning to realize why everyone had said they would 'see us at Christmas'. I had a feeling they knew what it was like to be with your true mate in the first few months.

Bella had visited her father every weekend for the past month straight to watch the weekend sport show with him while downing disgusting beers despite me advising against it. She promised she would hunt first and afterwards as well as leave if it got too hard. Three weeks ago I had been dragged into this terrible affair despite my protests but she had told me it was good for Charlie to know me and establish us as a couple. Charlie kept asking why she was so happy all of a sudden when they had their first beer and game night which meant I had to commit to downing half a beer also. I did admit later it was worth it, I hadn't had the best relationship with my father so it was nice to see how close Bella was with hers. I also got roped into cooking meals for him throughout the week to freeze and deliver on the weekend to make sure he was eating. I had a feeling Bella was trying to bury her utter despair at the prospect of never seeing her father again by taking care of him even though he was a grown man.

I had also purchased flights for her mother to come stay with Charlie as she had confessed she had broken up with her partner to Bella one night over the phone. Now that was a fun idea, that woman liked to party and party hard! So one evening Bella and I pre planned to get high before coming over with edibles for her. Charlie, being a cop, wasn't allowed to participate but since it was legal, he didn't frown upon it, instead stuck to many beers. It was a good night of Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses and hilarious dancing. It was even worth downing a few beers, it felt good to be in Bella's world with her parents. Even though they were divorced, there was definite chemistry there and I could see Bella hoping against hope that something might brew again. They had married young and had a baby way too early but there was love still, under the rubble. I enjoyed sending waves of courage at both of them in small doses. I didn't want to manipulate them but I already could feel lustful vibes streaming from them so really I was just boosting their confidence to make a move.

Esme and Carlisle were happy that I was finally accepting their money and using some of it, keeping Charlie's fridge full of beer, our fridge full of food for Bella to cook meals with, buying plane tickets and new beds. Yeah new beds had been an interesting conversation but we unfortunately had to replace our bed a few times. Esme was not impressed but when I explained why she squealed with delight and told me where she had purchased the duvet and sheets from as Bella and I quite liked them.

It was currently noon and Bella was busy cooking potato and leek soup since the weather was beginning to turn cold with fall around the corner. I was watching her cook since apparently my cutting skills weren't good enough today. Truthfully I was doing it on purpose to rile her up and to get the opportunity to stare at her while she cooked. That was where we were at when I felt them, many bodies, running towards us at great speed with the need to kill rolling off of them in waves. Bella heard them soon after and quickly turned everything off before staring at me with panicked eyes. I held a finger to my mouth and quickly zoomed to the garage while holding her hand to climb into our car. Once the garage door was opened we zoomed out and down our driveway barely missing the first line of newborns racing for us.
"What the hell is going on Jasper?" Bella panicked as she looked over her shoulder at the army of newborns racing after us. I increased our speed and quickly squeezed her shoulder before returning my hand to the steering wheel to drift around a corner. I prayed to whatever gods that were out there that Charlie wasn't on patrol today.
"I'm not sure, we are going to have to drive onto the reserve for backup though. Just breathe Bella, I need to focus, think about puppies or getting your mother high for the first time" I said as I felt her anxiety climb. Suddenly her emotions went completely dark.
"Wait what the hell did you just do? Your emotions turned completely off. I haven't felt that since you were a human" I said as I sped around a corner.
"I don't know!" she cried.
"Okay, okay, calm down, Edward could never hear your thoughts right?" I asked.
"Yeah so what?" she said, trying to take big breaths.
"Bella you might be a shield, have you tried doing anything cool yet?" I asked as I drifted around another corner.
"Something cool? You seriously wanna discuss this right now while we are racing from an army of newborns" she snapped at me.
"Hey it got you to calm the hell down, but yes, if you are a shield you should figure out how that works, they can be the most powerful vampires" I said smirking at her before drifting around another corner way too fast. Why Forks roads had to be all corners, I didn't know.
"Call Jacob" I said to the computer console installed into the car. The artificial intelligence programme dialed Jacob's number and he picked up thankfully on the third ring.
"Hey guys, what's up?" said Jacob.
"We need help, like yesterday, we are heading your way to the reserve, we don't have time to ask permission correctly. I'm sorry, we have an army of newborns on our tail. Please call in help, I don't know if we are going to walk away from this one alive Jacob '' I said as I passed the border into their lands.
"Alright, keep em coming Major" said Peter.
"What the fuck, how?" I said, as I took another corner way too fast. The tires screeched in protest and were going to pop if I wasn't careful.
"My knower told me this morning, just roll with it and maybe locate your phone major" he said. I sighed in frustration knowing I hadn't touched my phone or email in three months and continued driving straight to the reserve while Bella began to growl next to me. The newborns were getting closer.
"Bella, run ahead, we are faster and this car isn't going to hold out for much longer. I'm right behind you"
"No Jasper, not without you" she said, reaching to hold my shoulder.
"Bella, please, I don't want you in range of what I'm going to do. The pups are straight ahead, you just have to run to them then you will be safe I promise" I said as I took another corner way too fast and the car started beeping at me that a tire was losing air.
"Go now!" I growled at her. She nodded and jumped out of the car to zoom ahead. I swang the car around, causing the tires to screech in protest. Once stable I sped towards the vampires pushing out fear to scare a few off before leaping out of the car at the last second to run after Bella. The car would smash into them hopefully setting fire and killing a few. I couldn't see Bella but I followed her scent till the wolves came into view. That was when I flipped into the air, spinning around mid air and smashing a few newborns into the ground as I landed, ripping their heads off in one swift movement and growling fiercely at the oncoming army. I realized I mostly just mimicked the landing pose of Black widow but I had no time to think about that as more came rushing towards me. Peter and Char quickly flanked my sides with the wolves rounding them up into a tight circle. I couldn't see Bella but I focused on annihilating every newborn I could lay my eyes on. She had to be with the elders, probably explaining what was happening. I wasn't worried as I didn't want her anywhere near this fighting. I hadn't exactly taught her anything besides the art of study and the art of bed. Training her to fight really hadn't crossed my mind although I was beginning to regret that decision right now.

Eventually Char ripped the last newborn to pieces and Peter had started a fire where we promptly began burning them. We were still on a road but thankfully on the reserve where at least their community could help cover this up.
"Hey where is Bella, I thought she was with you?" said Jacob as he morphed back into a human and came up to me.
"What do you mean where is she, she ran straight to you guys" I said as I felt my stomach drop to my feet.
"We never saw her Jasper" said Peter, coming to my side.
"Well she didn't disappear, she was running straight to you guys!" I said before zooming after her trial. Peter and Jacob followed me while the others worked on controlling the fire. Her trail went along the road for a bit before banking off to the forest which was strange but then I caught a whiff of a different yet familiar scent, Victoria. The worst possible visions raced through my head as I followed both trails to a dead end. I didn't understand it, it just ended in the middle of the forest floor. I jumped to the trees to see if Bella had leapt from tree to tree but nothing. Peter and Char saw what I was doing and followed suit, also coming up empty handed.
"Where is Bella?" I snarled at Jacob, landing dead in front of him and spitting venom at his face. I could feel his terror rising as he backed up and I could see an avenging angel in the reflection of his eyes, my eyes were pitch black with my lips pulled back across my teeth.
"I don't know, I swear man, she had to have gone somewhere, was there a helicopter? I wasn't listening for anything as I was focused on following the pack" Jacob said as he backed up a few steps with his hands up in surrender.
"Jasper, there was no helicopter, back down from Jacob. Jacob go help the others" commanded Sam. I took a moment to breathe while running my hands through my hair in an attempt to calm down. There was no helicopter, Bella didn't jump into the trees, there were no tire tracks, there were no other scents, where the hell did she go? I couldn't hold it any longer as I felt the anxiety swell up inside of me like a balloon that just kept getting bigger and bigger, closing off my air ways even though I didn't need air. I took a few steps away from everyone and found a tree to punch, shattering it into tiny splinters. It took me back to our first hunt together, I had shattered a tree just like this around Bella, the splinters took a whole minute to slowly fall through the air around her giving her an angelic look.
"Jasper!" yelled Char.
I ran over to her side and watched as she pulled away a hatch leading to a tunnel. There was no scent but the tunnel looked deep and long.
"Maybe there's a vampire that masked her scent?" Char asked.
"Lets go" I said as I jumped in and sped off not waiting for anyone else. The tunnel didn't have many turns and soon enough we were coming out at the water edge at the La Push beach. I stopped just before running out of the tunnel to pick up what looked like Bella's necklace that I had given her. Upon inspection, the clasp was broken which meant someone had forced it off of Bella or Bella had ripped it off. I also could faintly smell her scent which meant Char was right, there was a gifted vampire. I searched up and down the beach looking everywhere for her while the others caught up but there was no sign of her besides her arms which shook me to my core. She would be in so much pain and would be losing energy fast without her arms. There weren't even bloody footprints in the sand which pissed me off, whoever had dragged her through the tunnel had been careful about the tracks they had left behind. The only evidence that I had that Bella had come through this tunnel was the necklace that I still had in my hand and her arms. Char had caught up to me and took in what I had concluded as I sank to my knees in the sand finally giving into despair. Someone had taken her under the water, it was the only option which meant they could be anywhere. I punched the sand as hard as I could with my fist while screaming in agony.
