Day 2
Apparently besides zombies, there are also reanimated skeletons. That shoot arrows at you. Made the mistake of trying to sneak up on one.
BIG mistake.
If before I thought a spider bite was painful, getting turned into pincushion within seconds was nothing short of agonizing. I ran away already preparing to die (again). Thankfully, the sun got up not too soon after, and I've managed to make another useful observation:
They burn in sunlight.
This stuff feels borderline magical in nature, but Im too tired and sore to question it really. If getting shot sucked, pulling the arrows out so the regeneration thing could kick in sucked at least four times as much. Even now, as I'm writing this, its still going, though very slowly. Think I have to eat to speed it up. Im bleeding all over my hoodie and pants but I should be fine.
Im not going to last like this for long. Need some sort of protection ASAP. Wish I still had my shield – then this would be a cakewalk.
Well, got a shield now. Sure, it's wooden and looks a little on the flimsy side, but it'll have to do. Can't help but think how nobody else in my year would be in such sore need of one – they'd probably beat these freaks with tree sticks. All of them, so much better than me.
In any case, there are now a couple of furnaces stacked by my campfire, and – more importantly – I am a proud owner of my very own hand-crafted iron chest piece! It's a whole lot heavier than the one I used to wear, but it feels sturdier too.
An idiot with nothing but a sword, board, no Aura and an oversized plate for protection.
It sure feels like Initiation all over again.
Hh ol y s hit t
Just fel into a ravine right by my sheltr. Didnt even manage to scream or pray or aanything maybe realized i was about to die a split secnod before I hit the ground.
yet another imprrtant observation:
water wins against terminal velocity. landed in a puddle and didnt become one. Im fine, but very fraking shaken up. Gonna take a look around this place to calm mself down and see if i can find a way out.
I can swim up waterfalls now.
I can swim up waterfalls now.
Couldnt find a way out of this hole, so almost decided to tunnel my way up to surface instead. Went up near a tiny waterfall since it was the closest thing to surface level. Started digging. Slipped on a dumb wet rock and fell down.
But I didnt.
Ended up in the waterfall, except falling down with a splat into the waters below I started swimming. Honest-to-Gods swimming inside a WATERFALL! This place keeps breaking so many laws of physics and thing its not even funny. It felt like I was in a lake with a slight downward current more than anything.
And then I managed to swim up. A little bit, by accident. Up a waterfall.
There shouldnt have been enough WATER, or something, to let me do that! I don't know, this place keeps proving how incomprehensible it is by the minute.
I'm up on the surface now. Gonna break for the forest and see what I can find.
P.S: Water physics that break a 100-something feet fall and then let you use any flowing stream as a ladder? Those could make for one hell of a dirt-cheap landing strategy. Too bad can't really carry water with me in such quantity.
Killed a few sheep in the forest in the forest, got a couple slices of mutton and some wool. Puked right after too, but less. Hope it means I'm getting accustomed to it. I don't like hurting animals, but until I find a new source of food, I'll have to act out the whole "hunter-gatherer" thing.
P.S: Found another flock of sheep with a BABY running around. It let me pet it. Looks like I'll be a fisherman from now on - at least fish stinks and NEVER looks this cute.
Day's coming to an end. I ended up putting a bed together. A "bed" is a loud word for it; it's more like a wooden pad with grass-and-feather filled cloth. Better than roughing it on the grass and have blocky ants crawl up my nose and onto my brain. Gonna see what else there is to do before nightfall.
P.S: Sewing with an iron shard left over from my smelting turned out WAY easier than making the bed base. Who'd have thought those torturous sewing sessions Noir and Blanch forced me to sit through would be so handy now?
It's nighttime now. Built a temporary wall around my shelter out of planks and some cobble. I don't really expect it to last if I attract attention, but that isn't the point anyways – hopefully, it'll keep me out of everyone's sight till the morning. Also made myself a smoker furnace. I think the smoking is done to increase the expiration date or something? Somehow don't think it'll be that much of an issue in this place (though, if rotting flesh exists, which – as the "System" prick pointed out - can be eaten, I probably shouldn't be so sure. Too tired to think about it now.)
Good night. Sleep tight. Don't let the spiders bite.
MidKnightMoonglow99: ty for the review. I DO have a set of End goals and possible situations in mind, even some pieces of lore planned out. This is, however, just me rewriting my own Minecraft adventures and Jaune-ifying them, so the way everything turns out in the end is an unknown even for me.
As for Jaune appearing "irritable": I was going for "stressed and out of element" kind of vibe. Just clearing that up. I'll do my best to up the goof factor when possible.
