Author's Note: In my Xtrema story, I usually write about three matches in each chapter. For now, however, for this story, I'll keep it one match at a time. That way, I can see how every one of my readers likes my matches so far.
Also, a guest reviewer has asked me where to find the headcannon chapter I mentioned before. It's at chapter 9.
Okay. Onto the story.
Once the time has come, Sayuri Rogue waved her hand and the security she hired finally allowed the crowd of fans to enter the reserved area of the beach. She already had bleachers and chairs set up for the fans as well as a metal barricade separating them from ringside. There was even an area where the boys of Animal Squadron sat at to watch the show. Ichiro rubbed his hands excited to see his girlfriend's match.
Sayuri Rogue entered the ring with a microphone in hand. She took a minute to take in the cheers and whistles from the fans. Once they were done with their praises, she spoke into her microphone.
"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen! You all know me, Sayuri Rogue! And today, to celebrate this fantastic deal I made with Berserk, I am hosting this summer event that I call Beachside Battle! Seven epic matches by these lovely ladies followed by a live concert of Sweet Diva!" The crowd cheered at that. "If everyone's ready let's get on with our first match! Coming up first, Berserk's talented roughhouser, Rio Kazama!"
As she said that, Rio appeared from behind a set of red curtains. Aside from her swimsuit she was wearing, Rio also had on her purple mask that she wears during all her entrances. As soon as she entered the ring, she removed her mask and set it at ringside.
"And her opponent, making her official return to the ring, Kanae Fujishita!"
Kanae walked through the red curtain in her swimsuit as well. She looked at the crowd and giggled as she saw Natsuki Okumura, her reporting partner, staring at her with his jaw dropping. He shook himself awake and started taking pictures. Kanae winked at him making him blush before she got into the ring. She removed her glasses and set them at ringside like Rio did with her entrance mask.
Sayuri left the ring and sat at the chair she had set up next to Jackal Tojo. When she exited, then came the referee. It's the same referee as usual, but she wore a blue swimsuit bottom and a short shirt top with her referee patterns. She called for the bell and Sayuri was happy to ring it as it sat next to her.
Kanae and Rio met up in the middle of the ring and gripped each other's shoulders. They didn't struggle much because they wanted to talk first.
"Glad you're back in the ring," Rio said, "But don't think I'll go easy on you just because you haven't wrestled in ages."
"I'll take my chances." Kanae said. It was then that she quickly grabbed Rio's wrist, spun around, and threw her over her shoulder slamming her down onto the mat.
Kanae then grabbed Rio by her head and lifted her up. She whipped her to the rope and hit her with a lariat as soon as she ran back. Kanae brought Rio up on her feet again before throwing her to the rope. She ran forward to charge at her, but Rio countered her charge by launching a kick that connected to Kanae's stomach. After that, Rio dropped a double axe handle to Kanae's head sending her down. Rio landed an elbow drop to Kanae's chest before rolling her over for a pin.
1…
Kanae managed to kick out. Rio didn't hesitate to sit on her back and pull her leg hard with a single-leg Boston crab. She also transitioned into a stretch muffler to keep Kanae's movements at a minimum. Rio pulled harder making Kanae yell.
"STOP IT!" she shouted. "IT HURTS! IT… AAAHHH! MY BACK!"
Rio widened her eyes. She was afraid she might have accidently reopened Kanae's old injury. She instinctively loosened the hold. For that brief moment of relief, Kanae grinned before seizing her opportunity. She pulled her leg away from Rio's grip and sent it back to kick her in the face. She got off and Kanae returned to her feet clearly not really injured.
"So that's one of Berserk's legends pulling off one of her tricks." Rio thought to herself before grinning. "In that case, the gloves are coming off!"
Rio quickly flew to Kanae knocking her down with a dropkick. Rio picked her back up only to throw her down over her knee. She kept the pressure keeping Kanae bending over. Of course, Kanae wouldn't stay there long. She thrusted her legs upward and wrapped her legs around Rio's neck before throwing her over.
When Rio got back up to her feet, Kanae immediately grabbed her in a hammerlock and threw her over backward slamming down onto the mat. But she wasn't done. Kanae kept her old on Rio and suplexed her again. She picked her up and suplexed her one last time before attempting a pin.
1… 2…
Rio kicked out in the nick of time just as Kanae jumped up to her feet. She held up her hands and closed them a few times in a "come get some" motion. Of course, Rio wasn't quite tolerable to that kind of taunting.
"I won't let you make a fool of me!" Rio shouted standing up.
Kanae caught her by surprise by lifting her over her shoulders and spun around. She then dropped Rio down before sitting behind her and locking her in a headscissor hold. Rio struggled trying to shake off, but Kanae kept squeezing her thighs around her head.
"Kazama, do you give up?" the referee asked.
Rio wanted to shake her head, but the scissor hold kept her head from moving. She couldn't say no either because Kanae's legs were covering her mouth. The best thing for her to do was keep struggling even harder than before.
After a minute of thrashing around, Rio found her exit. She managed to slip out of the scissor hold and return to her feet to breathe a full breath. Kanae stood up as well ready to continue punishing Rio. Instead, however, Rio saw her coming and shot her arm backwards. She punched Kanae's face with the back of her fist sending her down with a devastating blow.
Still exhausted, Rio still had more energy to keep going. She picked Kanae up and locked in her signature sleeper hold. She spun her around before sitting her down and wrapping her legs around her waist.
"Good match," Rio said constricting Kanae's neck hard, "But I'm afraid your comeback match has to be a loss. Better luck next time."
Kanae was seriously in trouble and the crowd knew it. She thrusted her body around before darting her eyes at Natsuki who had a concerned look on his face. Kanae began to slow down her thrashings and her eyes closed. Once she was motionless, Rio smiled.
"Hey, ref, count her out!" Rio commanded.
The referee lifted Kanae's arm and let it hit the mat. She did it again and it landed twice. She lifted it one more time to let go. Rio grew her smile loosening her sleeper tightly. However, that's what Kanae wanted.
Right when she felt the sleeper hold coming loose, Kanae stopped her hand from hitting the mat and broke the referee's count. Immediately after, before Rio could process what happened, Kanae grabbed her arm and forced it off. She then elbowed Rio's knee to make her release her bodyscissors. Kanae stood back up and Rio stood up with eyes full of disbelief.
"I'll be damned. You're even stronger than I've heard." Rio said. "But don't think you've won yet!"
"You're right." Kanae said confidently. "I'll have you pinned in less than ten seconds."
Rio charged, but Kanae kicked her in the stomach before she could get her. She put her in another guillotine hold, but instead of another DDT, she hooked her arm around Rio's leg. It looked like she was about to land a fisherman's suplex, but this was different. Kanae suplexed Rio, but also kept her grip while backflipping. When Rio was suplexed and landed harshly on her back, Kanae crashed down right on top of her.
Sitting where they were, both Misaki and Juri smiled.
"The Kanae Krash." Misaki described while the referee counted.
1… 2… 3!
DING-DING!
The crowd roared in applause while Sayuri Rogue left her seat and entered the ring with her. She helped Rio up on her feet, but she was still sore over her body. Sayuri held up Kanae's hand while giving back her glasses.
"Your winner, Kanae Fujishita!" Sayuri declared.
Rio looked at Kanae and gave out a grin. "I'm not even mad."
"Better luck next time, snow head!"
Now, Rio was mad. She growled and turned her glare at Ichiro. She was about to yell at him when Sayuri calmed her down. While that happened, Kanae exited the ring and returned backstage. It was there that she bumped into Natsuki.
"That was amazing!" Natsuki commented excitedly.
Kanae smiled. "I'm glad you liked it."
"You have no idea!" Natsuki continued. "I thought for sure you were a goner to that sleeper hold, but you caught me off guard with that finishing move you did!"
"You mean the Kanae Krash?" Kanae asked. "Yeah. It was pretty exciting. I didn't even think I could still do it. Glad I can. So what kind of notes did you take?" Natsuki pulled out his notebook and handed it to his partner. She opened it and read over it. Her eyes widened as she scrolled her eyes over what was written. "This is quite detailed. How'd you write all this so fast?"
"It's a gift," Natsuki said, "Just like how your gift is wrestling. Your first match back in a few years and you've already done better than most other wrestlers I've covered."
"You're sweet." Kanae said giving Natsuki a quick kiss on the cheek. "How's about we cover the rest of the event together?"
Natsuki chuckled once caressing his kissed cheek. "I'd like that."
Author's Note: Next match is Chocho vs the Hirano sisters. Any and all comments are welcome.
