AS Usual I do not own any of the characters or the original story itself, I write this for fun (even if I'm terrible at it.) and am making no money.

Chapter 7: The Movies:

It was in under 10 minutes that they finally made it to the cinema. Dora had seemed eager to see the new Friday the 13th movie, whatever that was. She dragged him to the concessions stand for 'Treats' as she called them, how the girl could still be hungry after that dinner was unknown to him. Whatever after paying for his new clothes and now the movies, as Dora said it was their first date. He really wasn't sure if she was teasing him that time, and truthfully, he didn't want to know. He was doing his utmost to ignore her anytime she brought that word up around him, it was his newest resolution, he seemed to be making a lot of them lately. Maybe time travel had made him more resolute, or at least more willing to try to make resolutions. Two things he learned from his adventure to the cinema was, one he didn't like horror movies, and two Dora's taste in movies was not for him. After an hour and a half of what he was convinced was the newest way to try to 'off' him, he shakily made his way out of the cinema. While he knew it was cheesy and fake, the sight of wanton murder struck a deep chord with him, his traumatic past he mused internally.

Dora meanwhile was quietly watching him, she figured out when the movie was almost over that he was clearly uncomfortable with the horror genre. Well maybe next time he would appreciate a comedy. To be frank she didn't know what type of movies he even enjoyed. She frowned at that; she didn't even take in account what he wanted to see. Oh well plenty of time to learn what the other enjoyed with him living with them after all. She wondered if he had ever seen Star Wars, she really enjoyed those movies after all. Her dad constantly tried to get her to like Star Trek, too bad for him that his efforts would never yield any results. She smirked at that, her dad's obsession with Star Trek was well known to her and her mom.

As they exited the cinema and trekked back home, she decided to try for some conversation, "So... what type of movies do you like?"

Startled from her abrupt question. "Umm ... I don't really know, haven't seen to many."

Dora looked thoughtful, "Well I guess when you live in a castle you don't really have to much interaction with muggles I guess."

"A castle? You mean Hogwarts?"

She just looked at him in confusion, "Noooo the castle you were raised in." she muttered.

Harry just looked at her in confusion, "I wasn't raised in a castle."

Dora looked at him in surprise stopping in her tracks, causing Harry to do the same, "Like in the books about you."

Harry just scowled at that, "Those books are fiction, I sure as hell wasn't raised in a castle."

"B-but they say you were raised in a castle with servants."

He just looked annoyed at her, "I was raised in a 'normal' muggle neighborhood with my aunt, uncle, and cousin. I didn't have any servants; I was the servant." He finished with a mutter. The talks with Ted about his home life were starting to seep through. Ted had made him realize that he had nothing to be ashamed about, the Dursleys though were horrible people. They might not have beat him too much, probably the fear of accidental magic, but the constant mental abuse and neglect were plenty to prove what kind of monsters they were.

Her had turned crimson red at that, she quickly looked around hoping nobody saw that. She sighed in relief when she realized that not only were they in a secluded area, but the encroaching darkness helped hide her blunder.

"So, then what was your life like?"

Stopping again to look at her with careful consideration, he considered ignoring her question, but she was a part of his new family it wouldn't do to alienate her.

"It wasn't the best... I don't really want to get into it but I was mentally and sometimes physically abused and treated like a Malfoy house elf."

She blanched at that, who would hurt the savior of the wizarding world. "B-b-but, why didn't professor Dumbledore help you? He always told everyone you were safe."

"I don't know Dora, he has three important full time jobs, some things slip through the cracks. I guess I was just one of those things. At least I hope that's the reason, I don't want to imagine that he knew and ignored the situation."

Her facial features curled in anger, "But that's not fair, you saved all of us he should have helped you!"

"Life isn't fair, and I'm pretty sure it was my mom that did the saving. I was only a year old, what was I going to do, my mom probably did some type of ritual that redirected the killing curse. Though since she was a muggleborn they wouldn't give her the credit because that would prove that purebloods weren't the most powerful witches and wizards."

Dora looked at him seeing his pissed off expression kind of turned her on, he was hot when he was angry. "I guess your right, mom always said people were like sheep following whatever was printed in the prophet."

"Ughh don't even get me started on the Prophet, that rag should be shut down!"

"Bad experience I take it?" She chuckled out.

"You'll see in like 6 years I guess, needless to say they tried to make it sound like one of my best friends and I were in a torrid love affair. Even though I have never thought of her that way."

She just stared at him wondering if she should broach the subject of his friends, before she thought what the hell and went for it, "So what's her name, and what about the rest of your friends?"

"Her name is Hermione, she's one of the most brilliant witches I have ever met. Everyone tells me that she's a lot like my mom." He said with a smile. Dora could see the love he had for his friend. "Then there's Ron, he's a good friend but he cares too much for fame, probably because he's the oldest of 5 brothers, the need to prove himself."

"5 brothers? Weasley?" He nodded his head at that, "Charlie talks about him sometimes, Charlie's my best mate! Look at that best friends each with a Weasley."

He chuckled at that, "Then there's Neville, he's been a good friend. A better friend than I deserve, I overlooked him too much. One of the first things I'm going to do when I reclaim my identity is apologize to him and try to be a better friend."

"I know Neville, he's moms godson. He's really quiet though."

They walked in silence for a bit after that. Before the silence could become to much Dora asked, "Do you play quidditch?"

Harry smiled at her, "Of course I do, seeker for Gryffindor, youngest in 100 years."

"Youngest in... wait you started playing your first year? Ohh you need to be sorted to Hufflepuff this year, so we can finally beat Charlie at seeking. He's becoming insufferable. This will be Bills final year so hopefully next year it will be easier to score on their hoops, we will need you to get the snitch fast then. Don't worry I'll help you by hitting them bludgers at Charlie."

"Sorted in to Hufflepuff? I'm a Gryffindor."

"YOU WERE a Gryffindor. Hello? Time displaced hero who has a new identity, they are going to resort you. Besides you don't want to leave little old me alone in the badger's den?" She finished with enlarged puppy dog eyes and that damn cute pout again.

Looking away before replying, "I don't know if the hat will put me in Hufflepuff, probably Gryffindor or Slytherin."

She looked startled at that "Slytherin?"

"Yeah, the hat wanted to put me their originally, but unfortunately I met your cousin and didn't want to be near that ponce." she giggled at that.

"Nothing wrong with that, mum was a Slytherin. I would have wanted to be far away from my prick of cousin too. I'm thankful that I don't have to attend school with that prat."

He looked at her, "I think we're going to get along fine if you disdain Malfoy that much."

"Awww your warming up to me!" she said shaking her head in delight before continuing in a sing song voice, "I'm breaking down your defenses."

"You are not!"

"Am too"

"Not!"

"Whatever you say sweetums," pinching his cheeks causing him to swat her hand away with a scowl.

"Never call me that again please."

"Butttt sweetums you'll hurt my feelings, you wouldn't to hurt me would you?" she added with that damn pout. He was already starting to hate his hormonal reaction at that.

"HAHHH that pout is going to win me every argument." she said sashaying her way into their home. Harry just shook his head at her actions, needless to say he was doomed to her teasing, and he was not looking forward to the next 3 months, maybe she would mellow out, one could hope after all.
