Chapter 1 went pretty okay I think, but that was the easy part you know? Now I have to actually write a story in the complex ass world GRRM made. I think I'll start small and keep the MC away from the main plot for a while, in fact I'll hardly mention it, just a few snippets here and there once the plot kicks off since there's no way I can get away with NOT mentioning the death of the Lord paramount of the Vale when the MC is now a lord there.

BTW that one review that just said "Wowzers" might be the best on the site.

Let us commence forth!

(Heart's Home, 297 AC)

I don't even remember going to sleep so what the fuck? Alright, whatever. Looking around, I see the same room I've lived in for my entire life. No, not my life, Lyon's life.

Bringing up my status I see a few things that weren't there before the stats are what I expected. The boon I got is there under the perks section, but there are two others that I didn't expect

Perks:
Heir to a noble house: +5 to all Noble skills. +15 REP with members of lesser noble houses. +10 REP with members of all noble houses of equal standing. +5 REP to all great Noble houses.

Blessed By The Seven: +20 REP with those Faithful to The Seven. The Faith of The Seven are willing to overlook any minor crimes and acts of sin you commit. Members of the faith are more likely to listen to you. +70 HP and SP, -70 MP.

What? The noble heir thing makes sense I guess, but what's that about being blessed by the Seven? Is that part of the boon? Why didn't it show up when I was choosing it then?

It's not apart of the boon, sir. It's the reason why Lyon Corbray didn't die in infancy.

Huh? Well that's cool I guess. Either way you won't catch me complaining about it. I mean, sure, my magic potential has been shot to shit, but I honestly can't be bothered to give a shit. Magic was never that great in ASOIAF anyway. Well at least the magic that normal humans can use, whatever the gods can grant will come much later and by that point I'll have more than enough MP to use it. Speaking of MP...

Hey, Marcy? My HP, SP and MP don't seem to go up with my stats, what gives?

I must have been more tired than I thought I was... Don't worry Master, this will be corrected shortly. While I fix that, it is time to choose your Major skills.

At that a list of pre-leveled skills appears before me. I'm guessing these are Lyon's then?

Mostly.

Skills

One-Handed Swords:27/100 * 7
Two-Handed Swords:15/100 *

Stealth: 10/100

Crafting

Smithing: 10/100 7
Cooking: 20/100

Is that my cooking skill from before I died?

Yes, sir. All of your applicable skills have been imported, as well as your stats. The INT and WIS stats are yours while all of the others were Lynus's.

Interesting, on to the next then.

Diplomacy

Speech: 32/100 * 7
Acting: 15/100
Writing: 20/100 *
Negotiation: 15/100 *

Disease Resistance: 37/100 7
Etiquette: 40/50 *

So the asterisks are meant to represent my Lordly skills, and the 7's are, if you couldn't already tell, my major skills. The major combat skills should be obvious. Smithing is... well, back when I played Skyrim, the crafting skills were always the first you wanted to level up. Now I know I won't be making Valyrian steel any time soon, I'd need magic for that and I doubt I'll be in a position to learn any for a good while. Even if I can't MAKE Valyrian Steel, I should be able to reforge it at a high enough level.

Adding onto that there are plenty of non-magical metals that I can make that would make for a good enough replacement. If I'm remembering correctly, Valyrian steel is based off of both Wootz steel, and Damascus steel. Even if the secrets to making them are lost to time, I should be able to recreate it eventually.

There's no way I won't eventually get dragged into one of the MANY conflicts that break out throughout the series, so Speech and Commanding are both getting diddled by the Seven. Disease resistance is mostly a precaution, this is the middle ages after all, but if it eventually gets to the point where I become immune to Greyscale, I can head over to Valyria and plunder the fuck out of it.

A few minutes after I finish brushing my teeth with a goddamn cloth and medieval toothpaste I hear a knock on the door to my chambers.

"My lord? It's time to wake up." Came the familiar voice of my favorite serving girl. Opening the door to let her in she quickly begins to draw me a bath. Heart's Home is no Winterfell, of that there's no doubt, we don't have any Hot Springs underneath the castle to warm us, but there's a full roman style bath connected to many of the rooms meant for The Lord of Heart's Home and his family heated by a hypocaust underneath the floor of each pool. All you have to do is add water. Which is exactly what my serving girl - Trysta, my new memories remind me – does.

Sitting back while she goes about her duty I take the time to admire her. Shoulder length brown hair, slim, but with curves that you couldn't really see under her dress, but I know are there. She's about Twenty years old if I remember correctly. Her soft voice cut me from my thoughts.

"My lord, your bath is ready." Trysta said with coy smile of invitation. We've played this game many times since she became my personal servant.

"It would seem so." I say, playing along like I've always done. " Ah! Where are my manners? You draw a bath for me and I don't even reward you for it. Please, as an apology I must insist that you join me."

"If My lord insists, who am I to say no?" She says as she disrobes, joining me in the water. Ahh~ What a great way to start my new life...

Later

Not long after I bathe and eat breakfast I take my first step into the wide world and honestly? It's cool as shit. Heart's home is one hell of a castle for sure. The main keep is surrounded by the stone guard towers that make up the castle's inner walls. My destination however, lay just outside, down the long stairway leading up to the courtyard. The castle is in remarkable condition for a House on hard times, we have some nice shit that's for sure.

Heading to the training yard I spot Heart's Home's master at arms, Joren, speaking with a handsome Black-haired man, my new uncle, Lyn Corbray.

"I was wondering when you were going to show up, nephew!" Yelled Lyn from across the yard. "What? Didn't want to leave the bath?" he said with a laugh. Lyn was the vain and arrogant sort, but we had a good relationship. When he isn't undertaking some task for my father, he's usually out hunting, or enjoying the 'company' of his 'friends'.

Attached to his belt, I see it. Lady Forlorn, the Valyrian steel sword of House Corbray. It was gifted to him by my grandfather in his final moments during Robert's rebellion.

Now you may be wondering, " Didn't you chose House Corbray so that YOU can have a valyrian steel sword?". And yeah that's true, but getting Lady Forlorn won't be a problem at all for me. Lyn is said to 'Like Boys' in the books, so that means it won't be going to any of his children when he dies, and he's also on Petyr Baelish's payroll, so when I convince Sansa to expose the fucker in front of everyone who's anyone in The Vale, Lyn's going down with him.

Even if Baelish doesn't say anything about Lyn, he ends up telling Sansa, so the fucker will end up getting exposed anyway and I get a rad magic sword ...But enough about that. I've got shit to do.

"You know me too well uncle! I wasn't too eager to leave my warm chambers and spend the day with a bunch of old men. I'm sure you can understand?" I said, leaning on a nearby shield sword rack.

"What I understand is that you're going to be hobbling to the dining hall covered in bruises after we're done with you, boy." Said Lyn, with the same cocky smile, he always has on his face. "Joren! Come join me will you! I think it's time my dear nephew learns how to fight two opponents at once." Just like that the smile is wiped from my face as I see Joren giddily reach for two practice blades, the prick. He hands one to Lyn before settling into a stance.

… I better get some levels and stats for this.

(Later)

+1 STR
+1 DEX
+1 CON
+5 One-Handed Swords
+4 Armor
+3 Block
+6 Pain resistance
+1005 EXP +20%= 1206/1000
LEVEL UP! You are now LVL 2! + 2 Stat Points! +1 to all stats.

I got my ass beat so bad I leveled up... that's cool. I knew picking the Seven was the right choice! Do you know how great you are for hooking this up for me, Marcy?

Yes, Master.

I love it when she calls me that. Heading over to the dining hall I see my father, Lyonel seated at the head of the table, the servants are just starting to bring out the food, so I'm just in time for dinner. Taking notice of me, my father greets me in true father of the year fashion.

"Lyon, about time you finished playing in the yard." Asshole. "Right then, I have something to tell you." Oh? Alright, I'll bite. Taking a seat across from my father, I get ready for... well I don't know what to be honest.

"Your grandfather has sent us a message from Kings Landing." My Grandfather? Wait... "He has decided that the time has come for the mountain clans to be taken care of," My memories check out, so that means... "and he has decided that the task would make a good nameday present for you." Jon Arryn is my grandfather. How?!

"You may deal with them however you see fit. You will be sent with a host of 200 men from all around the Vale. Most of them are untrained recruits, so their training will remain mostly up to you." He had a daughter? Wasn't she supposed to be stillborn?

"The crown will give you 5000 silver stags for supplies and wages for your men for the training period." Then again, so was I... "After which you will be given another 1000 every month until the campaign is over, so long as you show results."

Show results? I'm going to change the fucking game, holy shit! He said I can deal with them however I see fit, too! If all goes well I can just do what Tyrion did and convert them over to my side. There are around 3 thousand mountain clansmen in the Vale. If I can get them on my side somehow, I'll be able to field the biggest army in the Vale!

Lyonel then stares me dead in the eye, with the most intense gaze I've ever seen from him. "Should your campaign prove successful, Our house will be lauded throughout the Vale for your accomplishments. As minor an annoyance as the mountain clans currently are, they've been plaguing the Vale for as long as the Andals have been in the Seven Kingdoms. This is your chance to make your name known throughout the Westeros." In other words, Don't screw up.

The rest of our meal was spent in relative silence, with a few words being spoken between us about how our respective days have gone and general small talk.

(Later, Lyon's chambers)

Right, I need to unpack everything that's happened since I died. But first,

Lyon Corbray
LVL: 2
Class: [Lord] 1/25
EXP: 206/2000
HP: 240 HPR= 1.7% per min
SP: 190 SPR= 1.2% per min
MP: 40 MPR= 1.1% per min
STR: 12
DEX: 12
END: 12
CON: 17
INT: 11
WIS: 11
CHA: 16
Points: 2

The fuck? My vitals are way up, and when the fuck did I get an END stat? And a recovery rate?

I patched it in while you were getting your ass handed to you, master. Now your CON will govern your HP, and work with your resistances to keep you healthy.

END will govern your SP and physical abilites. The higher it becomes, the less stamina your physical skills will drain.

Your INT will govern your MP and spellcasting speed, while your WIS governs Spell cost and ability to learn magic.

You HP SP and MP are equal to 10x your CON, END and INT respectively. Your recovery rate is equal to 1/10th of each of their corresponding stats.

Oh yeah, I forgot about all of that. One more stat means one more perk when it hits 50 so it's all good and I'd have to be a moron to say no to bigger numbers. Now then, back to my stats,

Lyon Corbray
LVL: 2
Class: [Lord] 1/25
EXP: 206/2000
HP: 240 HPR= 1.7% per min
SP: 205 SPR= 1.3% per min
MP: 45 MPR= 1.1% per min
STR: 12
DEX: 12
END: 12+1= 13
CON: 17
INT: 11
WIS: 11
CHA: 16+1= 17

Cool, now to the important shit, starting with the fact that Jon Arryn is my grandfather. Looking into Lyon's memories, I find that Jon Arryn is indeed his grandfather through his mother from the Warden of the Vale's first marriage.

In canon she was stillborn, but here she lived and went on to marry Lyonel corbray about a year before Robert's rebellion kicked off. Not long after the rebellion started, Lyon came screaming out of his mother and about a year after the rebellion we both got sick. She keeled over and so did Lyon, but after about a day, he started screaming his lungs out, thanks to some fuckery from Marcy and the Seven, he, or should I say, I lived.

Septons throughout the Vale and beyond would go on to preach to anyone that would listen about the young lord that was blessed by The Seven, hence my new perk. I suppose being Jon Arryn's grandson and being blessed by the seven would explain why House Corbray is wealthier than in canon.

Next,(and I cant believe it took me this long to check) the main quests.

Correcting a mistake: Thousands of years ago, the children of the forest foolishly created the biggest threat to not only their existence, but the existence of all other living beings. Stop their failed science project from ending all life in Westeros and beyond.

Objective: Stop the long night from consuming the world
Bonus Objective 1: Plant, or revive 10 Heart Trees
Bonus objective 2: Meet Brynden Rivers beyond the wall

Rewards:
Objective: 100000 EXP, Boon of The Old Gods of The Forest, ?, ?
Bonus Objective 1: 10000 EXP, +2000 EXP for every Weirwood Heart Tree revived, +2000 Exp for every extra Heart tree revived
Bonus Objective 2: 15000 +50 levels in Greensight and Warging, ?

Holy shit that's a tall task, but doesn't the long night get resolved in the show? The White walkers seem to be a way bigger deal there then they were in the books. So I don't see why I'd need to step in.

They are far stronger here than they were in either incarnation, master. More magic, remember?

Oh. Well, shit. So that means everything magical in nature will be stronger too, huh... I'm going to get my shit pushed in by those dragons if I don't git gud with magic at some point. Also, how the fuck do I revive a goddamn heart tree?!

Channel your MP into it.

Oh, well that's not so bad. How much?

1500 MP per tree, sir, but the cost will go down once your wisdom gets high enough.

That's going to take a long while Marcy. How much does wisdom reduce MP cost by anyway?

1/10th of a percent for every point in WIS, Master.

Right... and I'm assuming it's the same with END and Sp.

That is correct, sir.

Good to know. Hey if I complete the main objective does it lock out the bonus objectives?

Not unless you miss the timing for some reason. The second bonus objective is on a time limit, but you can complete the first one whenever and still get the reward, unless it becomes impossible to do so.

Okay, so I've got time, that Brynden Rivers quest seems like the only one I'd end up failing and normally I'd be okay with that, but I have a suspicion about that question marked reward that makes me want to complete it as soon as I can. Well, that can wait for after I check out the other quests.

A pit of lies and corruption: For too long the faith of the Seven has been used as a tool by those without faith. Show the world what a true champion of the seven can do and remind the people of Westeros where their true loyalties must lie.

Objective: Take the Six kingdoms below the neck in the name of the Seven
Bonus Objective 1: Expose 10 sinful nobles in Westeros
Bonus Objective 2: Purge The Faith of the blasphemers like the High Septon
Bonus Objective 3: Spread The faith of the Seven further into the North
Rewards:
Objective: 150000 EXP, Light of the Seven Skill, True Boon of the Seven Who Are One, ?
Bonus objective 1: 7000 EXP for every sinner exposed, 2000 for every extra sinful noble exposed, Voice of the Seven perk added, +10 rep with all members of the faith for every sinner exposed.
Bonus Objective 2: 10000 EXP, Seven sight skill, Limited Precognition skill, Sword of The Seven.
Bonus Objective 3: 5000 EXP for every noble house converted to the faith of the Seven, ?

Yeah I don't think I'll be doing that last one. I won't be anywhere near strong enough to step on the toes of The Old Gods by the time I get to the point where I'll be able to complete that quest. It seems like The seven don't even care that much about it either if that lame ass reward is anything to go by. Unless that mystery reward at the end is game-changing in some way, but I doubt it.

Other than that though... it looks like the Seven want me to be the king of Westeros and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I guess it all depends on how strong I become by then.

The rewards for the other quests are dope as shit though, especially the second bonus objective. Limited precognition? That could be a lot of things, ranging from bootleg dragon dreams to fucking Spider-senses. Seven sight looks like some kind of true sight ripoff, but it still looks sweet.

What's next?

The Great Other: The great Other approaches, and with him, comes the long night. Cast the Others from this world once and for all.

Objective: Ensure the death of Night King
Bonus Objective 1: Kill the Night king personally
Bonus Objective 2: Take a red priestess into your employ
Rewards:
Objective: 150000 EXP, Boon of R'hollor, the Lord of Light, +25 REP with all Faithful to the Lord of Light, ?
Bonus objective 1: 50000 EXP, Lightbringer skill, +75 REP with all faithful to the lord of light, + 40 Rep with all others, ?, ?
Bonus Objective 2: + 15 levels to Minor Shadow Magic, + 15 levels to Blood magic, Glamours on all Red priestesses become permanent.

Oh? At first it seemed exactly the same as Correcting A mistake, but there's one key difference. The Old Gods want me to push keep the long night from consuming the world, while R'hollor wants me to end the White walkers all together.

The bonus objectives might be the easiest by far. Sure, I have to kill the Night King myself, but I was already planning to do that anyway. There's no way I'm missing out on such a huge PR gain.

The second bonus objective and its rewards seem more like a gift than a quest. Free magic and a personal witch? I've seen those priestesses in the show. The only downside would have been the fact that they're probably all ugly hags underneath their glamours, but their glamours will become permanent. If I complete the first bonus objective I'll probably have an entire religion full of sexy fire witches at my beck and call!

Right then what about the Drowned God and the Great Stallion?

They actually don't have any quests for you.

What? The fuck were they handing out boons for then?

They seem to have thrown a bit of a tantrum after you declined their boons and have rescinded their quests and their rewards with it.

Those fuckers! Whatever they can stay mad, once they see how much power and clout I amass they'll WISH they were on my side. As a matter of fact? I was going to try to form an alliance with Daenerys and leave the Ironborn alone for the most part, but now? I'm gonna go rough, rugged and raw all up on those fuckers!

I'm going to throw every Dothraki that shows up on my shores into the fucking sea and burn every Ironborn I find. To top it all off I'm going to put Deanerys and that Greyjoy bitch in chains.

Wow. You're a lot more upset than I thought you'd be.

Of course I'm upset! Those boons were absolutely killer! The Bitch Kracken had a zenkai boost for fucks sake! Whatever, I don't need it anyway. Right now I should just get some shut eye. Goodnight Marcy.

Goodnight, sir.

(Next day)

I've spent most of the day gathering a list of the supplies I'll need for my campaign against the Mountain clans. First thing I did was make plans for a supply line and arrange for a whole bunch of dried meat and grains to be prepared (an army marches on its stomach after all), then I sent riders out to a whole bunch of towns and settlements in the Vale calling for any able bodied blacksmiths and craftsman who want to make some coin. We need more than just the castle smith to make enough weapons and armor for two hundred + men after all.

Speaking of weapons and armor, since only 30 or so of the men that I'll be commanding will have any combat experience, I've decided to go the roman legion route in regards to training. Scutum shields, short swords and spears will be the way to go. They're Easy to learn and deadly, especially to a bunch of unarmored cousin fucking hicks that ran off to live in the mountains after the Andals fucked their entire culture over.

They'll mostly be armored in plated leather jerkins, since that's the best we can make on such short notice. Hopefully we'll be able to procure better armor for the average foot soldier in the coming years.

Now I'm sure you must be thinking to yourself, 'How the fuck are you going to get all of that with only 5000 silver stags?' Well as it turns out 5000 stags is a shit ton of money. You can live an entire lifetime in luxury on less than 1000 stags, let alone supply an army for less than a year with 5000 and I'll be getting another 1000 a month so long as I show results.

Hell everything I've arranged for so far has only brought me down by about 1500 stags and I've arranged for enough supplies to last for an entire year of combat, so suffice to say I'm going to be in the green for quite a while.

Still though, now that I have some free time until the recruits start to trickle in, which will take a week or so, I should be able to squeeze some training time in before dinner. Making my way to the training yard and grabbing a sword, shield and armor like I did yesterday I notice a distinct lack of soreness from yesterday which I'll just chalk up to Gamer BS.

"Ser Joren! I hope you didn't think I wouldn't get you and my uncle back for yesterday!" I say to the smug fuck.

"Of course not my lord, in fact I've been looking forward to watching you flail about in the yard all day!" Ser Joren had been master at arms in Heart's Home since the end of Robert's rebellion where he had distinguished himself and earned his Knighthood from my grandfather.

He's tall and has a scar on his left cheek from the greyjoy rebellion. Other than that he looks unremarkable, short brown hair, brown eyes, light skin slightly weathered by age. A true John Doe if there ever was one.

Seeing him get into a fighting stance I quickly do the same. Shield raised In my left hand, blade ready to strike in my right I start to circle around him while he does the same. I decide to close in before long and swing my blade at his shield arm which he predictably blocks before he sends out a thrust at my left side that I turn to the right to dodge at the last moment, bashing his sword hand with my shield before he was able to bring his blade back around to slash at me.

Breaking off from one another we readjust ourselves before going right back into it. I parry his next strike with the flat of my sword, and as I go In for the kill he raises his shield to block it, but that was just what I was waiting for. Kicking his shield, I see Joren lose his balance which is just what I need to end this.

With my sword at his neck he has no other choice, but to concede this match.

"It seems the beating you took yesterday lit a fire under your ass my lord" even in defeat Joren remains the same cheeky bastard he always is. "Ready to go again?" he asks, settling into his stance once more.

As I do the same, I can't help but wonder if I've always enjoyed the rush of physical activity or if this is just a leftover from Lyon. Either way I'm loving my time in the training yard.

(Later)

It's early in the night and I'm just finishing up writing the last letter that needs to be sent out to the lords of the Vale. They're all the same with the exception of the names they're addressed to, just letting them know that their Lord Paramount has commanded that I am to go hunting for mountain clansmen across the Vale and that they should get ready for a few skirmishes and battles in their lands.

Working out the kinks in my hand I can't help but wonder how the maesters up in Oldtown haven't invented a working printing press yet. Now, I don't know shit about how a Gutenberg press works, so I won't even bother wondering if it's within their capabilities, but surely it doesn't take a Rick and Morty fan to come up with a wood block printer, right?

Well, I suppose I should be thankful that they haven't come up with one yet. It means I can make one and take all the credit!

All thoughts of plagiarism come to a halt as Trysta finishes her last job for the night. Groaning as I spill my seed down her throat I guide her head back and forth slowly, riding out the orgasm. She takes Lyon junior out of her mouth with a pop and looks up at me obediently.

"Will that be all my lord?" She asks with cum on the edge of her lip. "Yeah that's all for tonight. You've got something on your lip by the way." I say to her, thoroughly spent from tonight. She makes a show of licking her lips before sending me one last smile and sashaying her way out of my room. One day, I'll have every woman of note in this world doing the same thing.

POV Change: Jon Arryn

The raven should have arrived by now. Lyon should be up to the task, he's always been a capable lad. He's also the true heir to the Vale. Not long after Stannis approached him regarding his suspicion about the queens children Jon began to notice things about young Robert. He noticed how Robert took after neither he nor Lysa in his coloring, Jon himself was blonde haired in his youth and has blue eyes while lysa has the typical auburn hair and blue eyes.

So why is it then, that Robert has brown hair and grey eyes? Thinking over everyone else that might share the boy's looks his mind stopped at Lysa's friend Petyr. She had always had a soft spot for the lad, and to make her happy he gave the boy control of customs at gulltown and after proving his talent named him master of coin.

He had remembered how elated Lysa was to have her friend around in the nest of vipers that had been their home since the rebellion had ended, happy enough to lay with him for three days in a row. He had also remembered how much time his wife was spending with the new master of coin... The final nail in the coffin had been an offhand remark of all things from Baelish himself about his poor health as a child. He always had watery eyes and a runny nose. Just. Like. Robert.

With all of the facts staring him in the face it became clear that Robert was the bastard of his wife and Petyr Baelish. After that revelation he began to planning to put his true heir, his grandson Lyon, in the Eyrie as lord paramount of the Vale, starting with this campaign against the mountain clans.

Some would question why the Lord of the Vale would choose NOW of all times to deal with the mountain clans and he couldn't just tell them that his supposed son is another man's bastard now could he? So, taking inspiration from his second surrogate son's house words he came up with something that would placate his lords while driving off any suspicion. Winter is coming, possibly the worst winter in well over a century and the Mountain clans once nearly tore the vale apart during the winter out of starvation.

Jon just decided to get ahead of the issue and sent his grandson to deal with them before winter comes, honest. Never mind the fact that he allowed his grandson full discretion over how the situation was dealt with. If the boy makes allies out of the three thousand clansmen in the Vale, then that would work just as well as killing them all. Lyon has always been said to be the charismatic type after all and blessed by The Seven to boot! Surely bringing those savages into the light and making good, honest folk out of them would just be further proof that the boy was sent by the gods themselves!

Meanwhile he'll be gathering evidence of Cersei and Lysa's betrayal in King's landing. Once the time has come, the lords of the Vale will gladly follow his decision to set aside his wife's bastard and put his grandson in the Eyrie. After he takes both Lysa's and Baelish's heads for their crimes young Robert can inherit the fingers. Bastard he may be Jon certainly doesn't wish death on the boy.

Which is why he'll be sending him to Dragonstone with Stannis while he takes care of Cersei.

Boom bitches, actual plot! I'm still not so sure about the beginning of the chapter, but I think I found my stride more towards the middle. The Jon Arryn portion was the easiest to write by far. He might not be Belish's bastard in the books/ show, but there's enough suspicion there to make something out of it. Also if any of you have a problem with the explicit scene near the end I have just one question for you. What did you honestly expect? It's an M rated Gamer fic inspired by other similar fics set in Game of Thrones. Now with all that said I hope you enjoyed chapter 2 of A restrictive game and be sure to let me know what you thought.

~Get Creamed on
