Chapter 1

Riverside, Iowa

Star Date 2255

Stratosphere Gentlemen's Club

A woman walked into the Stratosphere Gentlemen's Club with a bag slung over her shoulder and jacket over her arm. She was dressed in a blue sweater dress and black leggings with black flats. Her blonde hair hung over her shoulders in loose curls as she walked towards the dressing room with some swagger in her step.

"Andy about time you got here." A woman with full pouty lips, dark hair and brown eyes said with a smile.

"I had to make sure that I had my clothes for tonight." Andy said with a small smile running her fingers through her blonde hair.

"Oh that's right you never like wearing the same thing twice in one week." The woman said, shaking her head.

Andy laughed lightly and looked over her shoulder at her friend. "Trixy…"

"Hopefully you don't get a phone call tonight." Trixy said letting out a breath knowing that the older sibling had a hard time with her younger brother keeping on getting right into fights when he was drunk.

Andy groaned. "From the bar again. I hope not either. I swear sometimes I will just want to kill Jim if he gets into another fight. Hell George never did shit like Jim is doing right now." She said with a shake of her head letting out a breath.

"He's the youngest out of the three of you. It was bound to happen, honey."

Andy went behind the curtain and changed her clothes. She grabbed a robe and slipped it over her outfit for the night. "Yeah, but I think we were all supposed to enlist in Starfleet. George got the point across. Jim and I, eh, not so much." She shook her head and began doing her makeup. "I don't know what I am going to do with Jim though. He has been in the most trouble. Rebelling since George had left at 14. I was only 12. I don't think Jim understood at 11 years old." She let out a soft sigh.

"Well did you understand at 12 what your elder brother was doing?" Trixy questioned looking over at the younger woman who was busy working on her makeup.

"To get the hell out of dodge." She said as she fixed the dark seductive makeup that she had done every single night. "Couldn't stand our Uncle Frank."

Trixy nodded her head. "I do worry about you kid. You shouldn't be doing something like this." She let out a sigh. "You should be in Starfleet as well."

Andy laughed and sprayed some of her perfume on her skin. "Starfleet was already out of my reach a long time ago. My mom wouldn't approve of it anyways. She is upset that it killed our father. She wasn't pleased when George Jr. joined." She shook her head. "She would be pissed if Jim and I joined."

"But you would be so good in Starfleet." Trixy said letting out a breath not liking the idea that this young woman was throwing her life away in the worst way possible.

Andy put red lip stain on. "Well… I know I would."

"Your mother wasn't pleased when you started working here."

Andy removed her robe revealing the blue stripper clothing that she wore. At least this club was a little bit more tasteful with what clothing that they had their girls wear. Strapless tops, cheeky bottoms and six inch heeled dress shoes.

"Jinx." Their boss called from the doorway.

Andy looked at their boss. She let out a sigh and walked over to him.

"You're up."

"Thanks Hank." She said moving past him. She slowly walked out onto the stage and did what she did best. She blocked her mind out of the cat calls that she got every night. This had been her job since she was 18 years old and out of high school.

Andy got off of the dance stage and took a deep breath.

"Andy!" Trixy said, holding out a phone to her. "It's the bar keep from Shipyard Bar."

"Are you fucking kidding me?" She asked, her eyebrows shooting up her forehead. Not again. Always always when she had to work Jim always never failed to get into trouble. Now he was going to cause her to lose her job if this kept happening. She took the phone from Trixy. "Thanks." She told the woman.

Trixy nodded her head. "Anything for you kid." She said leaving Andy to have her phone call.

Andy closed her blue green eyes. "Yeah Doug." She said softly into the phone knowing fully well enough that it was Doug the bartender and owner on the other end of the line.

"He did it again." Doug said into the phone. "This time with a group of cadets from Starfleet."

Andy let out a soft sigh. She brought her hand up to her forehead and shook her head. "How many this time?"

"Five."

"Damn it Jim." She muttered to herself. "Alright I will be there Doug."

"Better be in the next 10 minutes or I'm throwing him out of here."

"I understand that." She said softly. "I will be there in 10 minutes. Bye." She hung up the phone and groaned. Her boss wasn't going to be pleased. She walked over to her boss. "Hank."

"What is it?" Hank snapped coming over to her.

"I have to go."

"What is it this time?"

"Jim got into another fight."

Hank groaned. "I told you that this better not happen again."

"I can't help it when Jim decides to get into a fist fight." Andy pointed out putting her hands on her hips. It wasn't like she could control what her younger brother did and Hank knew it.

"I told you that you would be fired if this happened again."

"I'm not putting up with this."

"I am not going to take your mouth. You're fired. Get out."

"I'll be glad to." She bit out turning on her heel and leaving the office of her boss. She grabbed her bag that had her clothes in it that she had worn into work. She slipped on her long trench coat and walked out of the gentlemen's club. She had to admit that she was glad to be leaving there. Nothing was worse than dancing on six inch heels every day and not earning enough to keep a flat in her name and pay all of those bills. Now she was going to have to deal with Jim and he was going to have to deal with a very angry older sister.

Andy opened the door of the Shipyard Bar. She saw Jim sitting there with a man that was dressed in a black Starfleet uniform.

Jim looked up and gulped. "Andy, I didn't know you were called." He stuttered out slightly not liking the look that she had on her face.

Andy crossed her arms and narrowed her blue eyes at her younger brother. "James Tiberius Kirk what in the hell were you thinking. Five… five Starfleet cadets? Really? What the hell is going on in that head of yours."

"Sis…"

Andy threw her hands up. "I got fired because of you." She snapped angrily putting her hands on her hips.

"Andrea." Jim said to his sister.

"What?" She snapped glaring at him.

"This is Captain Pike." Jim said softly looking over at the man that was not watching the two of them, but was hearing the entire conversation.

"Christopher Pike of Starfleet?" Andy asked, crossing her arms.

Captain Pike turned and saw Andy for the first time. "I don't believe it. Two Kirks in one place."

"I wouldn't be here if he didn't get into a fight." She said pointing at her brother.

"He wants me to enlist in Starfleet."

Andy's jaw dropped. Her little brother part of Starfleet? Now she had heard of everything. He was following after George Jr. "You are going to follow after George then?" She asked softly.

"Come on Sis…"

"Don't sis me, Jim." Andy said, shifting uncomfortably. Starfleet in ways made her skin crawl.

"Join Starfleet."

"Jim we will talk about this, but for now we are going to your apartment." Andy said, crossing her arms.

Captain Pike looked at the two of them. "If you're half the man your father was Jim, Starfleet could use you. You could be an officer in four years. You could have your own ship in eight. You understand what the Federation is, don't you? It's important. It's a peacekeeping and humanitarian armada." He then turned his attention to the young woman that was dressed in the trench coat. "And you would make your father very proud if you followed in his footsteps as well."

"We done?" Jim questioned as Andy helped him up to his feet.

"I'm done. Riverside Shipyard. The shuttle for new recruits leaves tomorrow oh-eight hundred. You know, your father was Captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved eight hundred lives, including your mother's. And yours. I dare you to do better." Captain Pike said leaving the siblings alone with one another.

Andy let out a breath as Jim picked up the Kalvin shaped salt shaker holding it in his hand and looking at it. Andy took a soft breath. "I take it we're not really going to talk about this?" She questioned softly looking at him.

Jim looked over at his sister and let out a breath. "No, I don't think we will Andy."

Andy let out a breath rubbing her temples softly with her fingertips.

"We need a new life, Andy. We both know it."

"But joining StarFleet?" Andy questioned looking at Jim, her brows crinkling with concern.

"Andy for god's sake, you worked at a strip club and I was drinking my sorrows away every night."

Andy wrapped her arms around herself. "We're really doing this?"

"We both need this Andy you know it."

Andy let out a soft breath. "Alright."

"Besides, what harm could it do?"

Andy let out a soft chuckle shaking her head lightly. "Only you would think that. I could think of a thousand things that could go wrong with you there and me trying to bail your ass out."

Jim gave her a cheeky smile. "You won't have to."

Andy's brow raised as she looked at him. "I doubt that one."
