Chapter 2

Andy groaned as she grabbed her bag that very few of her clothes that she was willing to wear in public. She hated the idea that her brother was even thinking of joining Starfleet and then giving her the look of wanting her to come with him. "Jimmy you are down right nuts on this." She grumbled as she threw her bag over her shoulder watching her younger brother throw his things into his bag as well.

"I'm not crazy, Andy. You know that this is probably the right thing for us to do." Jim said as he threw a few more things into his bag.

Andy let out a breath shaking her head lightly. "You know I don't really have much left in my closet that would be good to wear in public."

Jim let out a breath shaking his head lightly. "I know that you hated the idea of even working where you were."

"Stratosphere Gentlemen's Club can kiss my ass. Hank can kiss my ass."

"Well your boss Hank should've been punched." Jim said, narrowing his eyes, remembering what his sister had told him the night before about being fired by Hank due to him getting into a fight in the bar. He knew that Andy had no control of him and he knew that she had told her boss that she really didn't have any control over that.

Andy rolled her eyes. "That's you Jim. That's not me." She said as she quickly slipped her converse shoes onto her feet not bother tying them knowing that they didn't really have a lot of time to get out the door. "Are you sure that you want to follow George's path in joining Starfleet?" She nibbled her lower lip softly unsure of what her little brother was actually thinking in doing this. Was it because he wanted to be closer to George, or was it because of something that Christopher Pike had said that set a fire under his ass.

Jim let out a breath as he slipped his jacket on quickly. "Come on Andy. We both need a new path don't you think?" He questioned as his blue eyes locked with her blue eyes. "Don't tell me that you wanted to remain a stripper at the Stratosphere Gentlemen's Club?"

Andy gripped her hands tightly at her sides. "It's not like I wanted to do that, but it was the only way I could keep a roof over your head idiot." She grumbled crossing her arms as she looked at her brother. "I wouldn't have had to dance if you had a steady job and weren't out drinking all of the time."

Jim let out a soft breath. "And this is me making it right." He said as he headed towards the door carrying his bag.

Andy let out a breath and quickly followed her brother knowing that there probably wasn't enough time for them to even make it to the shipyard before the shuttle left. She followed him quickly towards his motorcycle that he had parked in the lot outside of their apartment building.

Jim quickly got on keeping his bag strapped to his back. He looked back at his sister knowing that she hated the motorcycle, something fierce. "Come on, hop on."

Andy let out a groan and got onto the bike. She secured her bag onto her back by looping the strap over her shoulder. She quickly wrapped her arms around his midsection to make sure that she didn't slip off of his bike.

Jim quickly started it up and then began to move the bike racing it down the road. Jim could feel Andy's arms tighten around him knowing that she was rather concerned about riding his bike with how fast he normally went. He zipped around vehicles that were on the road avoiding hitting them.

Andy closed her eyes in worry as her blonde hair whipped around in the breeze. She knew that this ride wasn't a good ride to her whatsoever. She hated riding his bike knowing that Jim was reckless when it came to riding.

Jim drove his motorcycle outside of the shipyard, looking up briefly witnessing the building of the Enterprise which was the newest ship that would be joining Starfleet in a few years time. He pushed his motorcycle more riding right towards the recruits shuttle knowing that he thankfully had made it in time even with his drunken stupor the night before and being berated by his older sister who he knew was still rather angry with the whole thing.

Andy felt the bike stop and quickly got off of the bike her cheeks pale from riding with him. She knew that she was going to have to give him what he had done. She hated riding bikes and riding with Jim wasn't safe.

Jim got off of his bike.

"Nice ride, man." The shipyard engineer adores the bike.

"It's yours." Jim said, throwing the keys to the engineer. He pushed his sister forward towards Pike with a grin on his face. "Four years? I'll do it in three." He boarded the ship easily with a cheeky grin.

Andy simply shook her head as she slowly walked pursing her lips together hoping that her brother wasn't going to cause trouble. She bit her lip as she watched Jim stop in front of a man and his crew. She let out a soft groan knowing that this probably wasn't a good thing.

"At ease, gentlemen." Jim said as he dragged Andy with him to a seat. He spied Uhura who had turned him down the night before. "Never did get that first name."

Andy shook her head as she buckled herself up in her seat that she took next to Jim. "Jim, could you please not cause any trouble." She said, jabbing her arm into his ribs.

Jim winced, groaning, turning his attention to his sister. "Ouch, you didn't have to jab me with your boney elbow."

Andy rolled her eyes. "Jim, I am not going to pull you out of any fights." She pointed out to him, narrowing her blue eyes as she looked at him.

Jim let out a breath shaking his head lightly as he buckled himself in.

"You need a doctor." A woman's voice rang out as it sounded like she was having a bit of trouble with someone.

"I told you people, I don't need a doctor. I am a doctor." A male voice rang out in frustration sounding a little worse for wear.

"You need to get back to your seat." She said forcing the man towards the seats.

"I had one in the bathroom with no windows." He complained as he was forced towards the seats.

"You need to get back to your seat, now!"

"I suffer from aviophobia. It means fear of dying in something that flies."

"Sir, for your own safety, sit down or else I'll make you sit down."

The man narrowed his brown eyes in frustration knowing that he wasn't going to win this fight with the attendant. "Fine." He said as he forcefully sat down next to Jim.

"Thank you." The woman said as she moved away from him.

"This is Captain Pike. We've been cleared for takeoff." Captain Pike's voice rang over the com.

"I may throw up on you." The man next to Jim said as he buckled into his seat looking worse for wear than a little bit. His face was rather pale.

"I think these things are pretty safe." Jim said, looking over at the man wondering why he was even telling him that he was going to throw up on him.

"Don't pander to me, kid. One tiny crack in the hull, and our blood boils in thirteen seconds. A solar flare might pop up and cook us in our seats. And wait 'til your sitting pretty with a case of Andorian shingles. See if you're still so relaxed when your eyeballs are bleeding. Space is disease and danger after darkness and silence."

Andy brought her hand up to her lips to keep herself from laughing. She was kind of surprised that this man was able to kind of shut her brother up which was very hard to do.

"Well, I hate to break this to you, but Starfleet operates in space."

"Yeah, well, got nowhere else to go. The ex-wife took the whole damn planet in the divorce. All I've got left is my bones." The man said as he took a large swig from a flask that he carried with him.

"Jim Kirk." Jim said with a nod of his head. "And this is my sister, Andrea."

"McCoy, Leonard McCoy."

Andy slightly moved to look at the man that introduced himself. "Nice to meet you Leonard." She said fairly softly as she saw him lift his head slightly to look up at her, his brown eyes locking with her blue ones.

Leonard nodded his head letting out a soft groan trying to keep his stomach from flip flopping around from now being in the air.

Andy bit her lower lip softly in concern. She wondered if he really was going to get sick on her brother. She honestly didn't care if Jim had gotten thrown up on as long as Leonard didn't end up going too far with being sick. She didn't need vomit on her clothing. "I think I might be able to help with the sickness if you'd be okay with it?"

Leonard's eyes met with her eyes once again. "And what would that be?"

"I've noticed when it comes to sickness it is sometimes good to lower your head between your knees. It helps." She said softly, biting her lower lip softly. "It's what I have this idiot do when he drinks too much." She elbowed her brother in the ribs lightly.

"Hey watch where you are putting your boney elbows, Andy."

Andy rolled her eyes at her brother's antics. "Oh you would have to worry more about than just my elbows if you cause trouble at the academy. I'm not bailing you out like you had me do when you were so busy wasting my money on booze."

Jim rubbed his side knowing that his sister was still rather angry with him for what happened the night before.

Leonard raised his brow as he watched the siblings exchange comments with one another.

"I said I was sorry for getting you fired." Jim pleaded with her to stop being so angry with him.

Andy scoffed, crossing her arms. "And you think that I'm easily going to forgive you for having me fired from my job that I was busy with for years before you decided to be in a drunken stupor most of the time. I'm not bailing you out this time and don't drag the good doctor in if you decide to cause trouble."

Leonard's brow raised. "You think that he is going to drag me into his trouble?"

Andy looked over at Leonard. "I wouldn't be surprised if he does." She pointed out letting out a soft breath. "And I will apologize repeatedly if he does so. He doesn't know when to not fight with someone especially when he's had a bit too much to drink."

Leonard blinked a few times looking at the younger man seeing his cheeks flushed in embarrassment. "And he had gotten you fired from your job?"

Andy let out a breath. "Yeah, he did. Last night when he decided to get into a fight at the Shipyard Bar." She ran her hand through her blonde hair. "Granted my job probably wasn't for the best."

Leonard raised his brow slightly. "You thought your job wasn't a good one?"

Jim let out a laugh, his hand coming up to cover his mouth. "She was a dancer…"

"Dancer…"

Andy snapped her attention to her brother. "Well someone had to get money since you didn't want a job Jim. And to keep up with your record of drinking dancing was the only place to earn enough money to keep up with your drinking and a roof over your head."

"You worked at Stratosphere Gentlemen's Club."

"Jim." She snapped, narrowing her eyes at her little brother, her cheeks flushing in embarrassment.

Leonard's cheeks flushed slightly now knowing that Andy was a stripper trying to keep a roof over her brother's head and trying to keep up with his drinking to make sure that they had enough funds to go through their life.

"No one was supposed to know that." She admitted softly as she looked down.

"It was still a job even if you didn't think that it was a respectable one." Leonard admitted softly. "You were just trying to keep your brother out of trouble."

"Which you can tell didn't work out in my favor too well."

Leonard felt his stomach lurch again and let out a soft groan.

Andy bit her lower lip seeing him turning a bit green knowing that it was only a matter of time before Leonard would lose everything in his stomach. It didn't take too much longer after that, that Leonard ended up vomiting all over Jim's lap and shoes. Andy tried to move her feet away to keep from getting his vomit on her shoes and succeeded in doing so.

"Oh man." Jim groaned, his head banging up against the seat that he was seated in.

"Jimmy, he did warn you." Andy said as she tried her best to not laugh at the misfortune that had happened to Jim.

"I'm sorry." Leonard apologized to the younger Kirk knowing that he did warn him, but it made him feel terrible still that he had gotten sick all over him. He could easily tell that Andy was trying to keep a straight face to not make things worse. He could tell that she wasn't trying to laugh at the misfortune that had happened. Which he was rather thankful for. He could only hope that maybe these two Kirks would become his friends and maybe they would be fairly decent friendships which he needed after divorcing his wife Jocelyn.

This is the end of Chapter 2. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. We've now seen the interaction between Leonard, Jim, and Andy. And I have to admit that I couldn't help, but add the throwing up on Jim bit. It was a bit of retribution for Andy who was revealed to be a stripper by Jim to Leonard which she didn't want him to know that she was a former dancer. Do you really blame her? I don't. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Reviews will help me keep going with writing. I also am trying to figure out who she should be paired with. I am maybe leaning towards Leonard but then again I'm not fully sure. Who would you guys like to see her with? I will try to update soon with the next chapter. It might take me a little bit to write the next part out since I'm not going to dive into the movie just right away even more. I want to kind of write a few chapters of their time in Starfleet. Until next time.
