Chapter Nineteen: Don't Mess with the Babysitter just turned into Don't mess with the Ninja...

Kai was not taking a nap during one of Ahsoka's so called lessons. Nope. Not at all. Why would he when he had much bigger problems to worry about. Like the fact that according to Falcon, something about someone wanting to take over the throne, though from what Kai understood it was because she was doing the same thing that Scales was trying to do. Lead her usually violent people into a period of peace. Nothing bad with that. No reason to turn against her... except that she appears to be expecting all these changes to happen over night... not the years that it actually takes... leaving some pretty mad people after her throne.

Shaking his head, Kai burrowed his head into his arms, a groan escaping him. He really didn't like thinking so much. It made his head hurt.

"Shikashi, anata ga sore o suru toki, anata wa sore de subarashīdesu.(But you are amazing at it when you do do it.)" Zane murmured softly, leaning forward ever so slightly to whisper to Kai, in a voice so soft, that only one with the enhanced senses of a ninja would be able to catch what he said... or that he spoke at all.

Kai rolled his eyes, only to perk up when Ahsoka suddenly called out Korkie and his friends for discussing something in her class. Korkie appeared to puff up his chest as he looked her in the eye. "We discovered a conspiracy last night. We're meeting up with the Prime Minister tonight to explain to him what we learned."

Not good... not good. Last thing anyone needed was for innocent children who do not know how to fight to get in the way. Zane flashed Kai's least favorite hand signal to him. Wait. Groaning once more, Kai smacked his head onto the desk in front of him. He really hated school. He hated being the teacher and he most definitely hated being the student. And now Zane was telling him to be patience about the whole conspiracy thing. Wonderful... with an extra doze of sarcasm.

Ahsoka blinked slowly, before stating something that had to be rehearsed lines. "Korkie... I highly doubt the four of you managed to find a conspiracy. Now back to the lesson."

Kai tensed at that, glancing back at Zane worriedly. This was SO not good. Zane quickly flashed a hand signal that made Kai only slightly less tense. Tonight. Turning his attention back to the front of the class, Kai couldn't do anything but pray that all of their training, and experiences, will be enough to prevent Korkie and his friends from getting too hurt...

Ahsoka shook her head as she knocked out another one of the guards that just tried to silence the children. Taking a few steps back, she glanced over her shoulder at Korkie, Amis, Lagos, and Soinee. "Are you four okay?"

"Yeah... now that you're here." Lagos answered for the group, looking somewhat panicked that the meeting turned out to be a trap.

Ahsoka thought things over, eyeing the unconscious men. "Come on. We need to warn the duchess about this."

"Let's just hope we're not too late to warn her." Korkie expressed concern for his aunt.

Soinee shook her head, distress rolling off of her. "Um... let's hope that she'll listen to us this time around."

Ahsoka couldn't believe it... the plan that they had come up with, in her opinion, was flawless... and yet here they were, hands tied behind their backs, Korkie being tortured in front of Satine to make her sign a piece of paper that claimed she was behind the terrorism attacks on her own people. Oh... and they had no help in sight because she thought it was okay to do this without alerting anyone. But then... who could I go to for help?

One of the guards inched closer, his footsteps oddly silent compared to everyone else's. Settling himself behind Korkie, he bent down to check something. Another guard walked over, a grunt escaping him. "Somethin' wrong over here?"

"Yeah..." Weird... his voice sounds familiar... "Your security sucks." Whipping around suddenly, the guard punched the other guard in the face, knocking him out. As he did this, he pulled his helmet off, revealing that it was Kai. "Way too easy to sneak in here and steal some uniforms."

Another guard that was standing behind the Prime Minister quickly knocked him out, pulling his helmet off to reveal that it was Zane. "Indeed. You really should have had something in place to double check the identities of all of your guards."

To say there was loud spluttering at this would have been an understatement. The two brothers moved swiftly, and rather silently around the room, quickly disarming the guards. It wasn't long until Ahsoka found herself rubbing her wrists from where the force-inhibitor had rubbed against them to stare at the two. "I'm lost... how long have you been following...?"

Zane smiled innocently as he helped finished tying up the last of the guards. "Truthfully? We followed Korkie and his friends last night. Upon noticing the same thing they did, we sent Falcon to follow the conspirator."

"From there we learned it was this Prime Minister dude. When we heard that they were meeting up with him, we decided to follow and make sure that no one got hurt." Kai shrugged as he helped Korkie to his feet.

"Do you guys ever do anything by half? I mean...seriously trying to solve a conspiracy by yourselves? Who does that?" She shook her head as she rolled her shoulders, trying to relieve some of the tension that was there.

"You do realize that back home that solving, and stopping, a conspiracy is LITERALLY in our job description, right?" Kai and Zane appeared to be unaware of the fact that they just spoke in perfect unison. Ahsoka simply smacked her forehead.
