Spyro: The Hero of Avalar
Ripto arc Episode eight: Spyro's Blunder
Rock music played and a male voice was heard singing the main theme of the story, Spyro, with Spyro and his friends shown one by one with each guitar string, and the guitar played harder with Spyro dodging Ripto's wand blasts and breathing fire at him. "Spyro! He's a kid and he wants to get home, (Elora is shown to be sneaking around some of Ripto's forces to get a Talisman) and Avalar needs a hero, to beat Ripto's dome. (Hunter is shown to be spinning a Talisman on his finger before being chased by Crush and Gulp) Spyro! With power from his head to his tail, (Moneybags is shown to be shaking his money bag to a clearly annoyed Spyro) he'll be there and evil won't prevail."
Flame, Ember, and Cynder were shown working together to get Spyro back home. "When evil's breaking pace, (Sawyer is shown to be overpowering Ripto) he gets right in it's face, Spyro. (Spyro is shown to be struggling to control the pin in his forehead) When trouble comes for shock, (Spyro shakes the headache off and is then shown flying at Ripto) it's time; let's rock, (Spyro punches Ripto and makes the screen change to him and his friends standing with each other as Spyro: The Hero of Avalar is shown with Spyro standing confidently in front of it, Sparx laying right on top of him, Hunter on the O at the end of Spyro, Elora standing next to Spyro with a smile, Nigel and Melinda walking in next to the word 'Hero' as Cynder kissing Spyro on his right cheek, making him smile) Spyro!"
Elora was planning battle strategies with Archer, who was just about to make a suggestion that he hoped would work well. "Maybe we could recruit some of the fighters from Avalar's worlds to help Spyro in the final battle. Even if he has the skill to back up his confidence, it's only fair we give him some backup."
"I was gonna ask if you wouldn't mind helping him after he came back anyway." Elora assured Archer, being optimistic about the chances of Avalar being saved. "As soon as they come back with the last two Talismans, Spyro and Cynder are gonna love what we have in mind."
Spyro then burst into the throne room with Hunter as he blurted out what happened in Magma Cone. "Sawyer and Ripto got the guidebook!"
"What!?" Elora exclaimed in horror, running over to Spyro as she made sure not to let him think that this was all his fault. "I'm sure you did everything you could, Spyro. Just tell me what happened. How could they have gotten their hands on the guidebook so easily?"
Spyro held back his anger and resentment towards himself as he explained what happened. Elora was still quick to catch on however, and so were Hunter and Archer, who nodded in exchange as they looked at each other. "It was right at the entrance of where the Talisman is. Ripto was about to take it, and Sawyer was already getting on my nerves. I took the Talisman and put it in the guidebook, and... and..."
Elora was patient with Spyro, considering his emotions in this as she let him know it was okay to finish. "And?"
"...Sawyer got the guidebook off of me during our battle." Spyro finished, clenching his fists as he did everything he could to avoid making anyone else worry about him. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
Elora hugged Spyro, surprising him, but Elora knew that he needed this. She only hoped that this would help him feel better. Spyro felt the sincerity, but didn't quite know if he deserved it. "Thanks, Elora. I only wish I deserved this." Elora showed immense concern for Spyro, hoping that he would feel better soon. She obviously cared about the safety of Avalar more than anything, but in the short time she'd known Spyro for, she found him to be important to her as well.
Cynder was making her way back to the throne room with her Talisman as she overheard arguing between Spyro and Nigel. "Your carelessness could very well cost Avalar the life it's managed to hold onto since Ripto came here!" She raced into the throne room as she saw Melinda trying to keep Nigel back with Elora doing the same with Spyro. "There's no chance of defeating Sawyer and Ripto with only one Talisman, even if Cynder managed to retrieve it!"
"Don't you think I know that, Nigel!?" Spyro snapped back, being furious at the fact that Nigel felt the need to remind him of his mistake. "If I could take back the part where I lost the guidebook, I would've done it in a heartbeat! It's too bad that I don't have these magical time warping powers that I'm sure you heard rumors about!"
"What's going on!?" Cynder spoke up, assuming control of the situation with a lightning crack as she snapped her fingers before she spoke up. "What's this about the guidebook being taken, and why is it serious enough to scream at each other over for the whole Kingdom to hear!?"
Nigel was quick to inform Cynder of what Spyro told the rest of them. "Melinda and I were coming back from recruiting soldiers to help Spyro in the final battle, (Looks at Archer) a brilliant suggestion by the way, Archer..." Archer gave a thumbs up as Nigel then looked at Spyro sternly. "...only to find that Spyro managed to get the guidebook stolen by Sawyer and Ripto."
Cynder was shocked to hear that as Spyro then scoffing as he pointed out how bad Nigel made him sound in his tone. "You make it sound as if I WANTED them to take it!" Nigel glared at Spyro with all of his might, but Spyro was unfazed. He was too angry to care about what Nigel thought about him. "Just admit it! You never liked me from the start! And it only got worse after you learned how I killed Crush!"
Cynder tried to take control again, only for Nigel to stomp his foot on the ground as he protested. "Regardless of whether or not we like each other, I worked with you to save my home, and to help my daughter!" Nigel went into the depths of what he meant so Spyro understood. "Elora's played a large part in helping us take Avalar back, getting far more involved than any child should have to in the heat of war!" What Nigel said next really pushed Spyro over the edge. "And the way you killed Crush, even though he was an enemy, didn't help her in the slightest!"
"SO YOU WOULD'VE PREFERRED If I'D LET THEM TAKE HER!?" Spyro shouted at the top of his lungs, unleashing a level of anger that stunned everyone, and was so loud that it even overpowered Cynder's lightning. Elora went to grab Spyro's shoulder, but his aura was too hot to touch and it burnt her hand. It was clear that his anger was off the charts right now. Spyro's aura was a full dark purple, and while he wasn't corrupted, he was still furious beyond belief.
Despite being stunned, Nigel knew he had to stay calm so he could defend his wife and daughter. "You've seeked assistance in return for helping us, Spyro! You don't seem to be willing to earn it!" Spyro glared directly at Nigel's eyes as he said something that made it clear he was sick of his words about him.
"I'll show YOU seeking assistance."
Spyro, without warning, dashed at Nigel, who blocked Spyro's charge with his magic to the point where he got pushed against the wall. Everyone was shocked and scared by the sight of this sudden attack from the purple dragon. He usually had a bit of an attitude, but he never went out of his way to harm someone who was on the side of good. Though, to be fair, Nigel was making it a little hard for him to avoid doing so.
Spyro eventually broke the shield and grabbed Nigel's neck, making sure not to choke him as he threw him across the room. Nigel regained his balance as he then spawned some magical fire balls and launched them at Spyro. Spyro managed to dodge all of them however, and caught the last one, dashing at Nigel and smashing him in the chest with it. He was so quick that Nigel had no time to dodge, being sent into the wall, where he crashed. Not wanting Spyro to be corrupted by darkness, or for her father to be further hurt, Elora got in Spyro's way.
Elora put her arms out, showing that she was refusing to let Spyro do anything else to her father. He didn't take very kindly to that. "Get out of my way, Elora! Your dad needs to learn some manners!"
"That's not gonna happen!" Elora declared, knowing that this wasn't who Spyro usually was. She wasn't about to let him hurt her father, and she tried her best to get through to him. "Spyro, I know we've only known each other for one day, but I can tell just by looking at you that you're not a killer." Spyro flinched at the use of the word 'killer'. Spyro then noticed what was going on with his aura, since he thankfully, wasn't completely corrupted yet. Elora then pleaded with him to stop. "Please, Spyro. Anger is a natural emotion, but this isn't the way to express it."
Cynder was then shown walking up to Spyro, putting a palm on his shoulder, which he noticed as he looked at her. "I can second what she said about you not being a killer." Cynder's compassion was more than obvious to Spyro, same with Elora. Cynder could see that it was working and let Spyro know that she still trusted him. "If the Spyro I know is still in there, then he'll do the best he can to calm down. Then, he'll help us plan our next action accordingly."
Spyro's pin, which was glowing violently before, had powered down thanks to the efforts of Cynder and Elora. He realized what he was doing and expressed immense remorse over it. Elora was checking to make sure her father was okay, and thankfully, the blasts he shot at Spyro weren't too strong. The two then noticed Spyro walking up to them. Spyro only hoped that Nigel was still willing to work together to save Avalar. "Nigel..." Spyro hung his head in shame, showing just how bad he felt for his sudden outburst and attack on Nigel. "I'm sorry."
Nigel could feel that Spyro wasn't in a state of attack anymore, and walked up to him, letting him know that he was aware of that. "We all blow off steam in our own ways." Nigel then looked down to Spyro, hoping he would know how to answer this question. "I'll give you one more chance to convince me you're more than you looked back in Summer Forest. And the answer you give, is the answer I will believe." Spyro was ready for whatever Nigel had in store for him. He could tell that he was being sincere about this. "Would you jump in to save my daughter if she were in danger?"
Spyro looked at Elora, who smiled as she looked back at him. The two had clearly formed a friendship of sorts in the short time they'd known each other. Spyro smiled back before looking up at Nigel with his answer. "I would."
Nigel could tell that Spyro was being genuine. He could see it in his eyes that he meant it. He then started to feel remorse for how he'd been treating Spyro since he arrived in Avalar. "I owe you an apology as well. Ruling a Kingdom can be a very stressful task, let alone defending it from a powerful force of evil. I had no excuse to take it out on you."
"Yeah, well I doubt me losing the guidebook made it any easier." Spyro admitted, still wishing he hadn't lost the guidebook to Sawyer and Ripto. "I just wish I could take that moment back." Spyro couldn't help thinking about how badly he'd screwed up. And he would've screwed up even harder if Cynder and Elora hadn't stopped him from hurting Nigel further. If only he knew how to control when his anger got out of control with his new pin affecting his outbursts in terms of rage and chaos.
Sawyer and Ripto were getting a look at the Talismans they had with Ripto being amazed by how easy it ended up being to get the guidebook. "All we had to do was make that dragon throw a tantrum, and almost every Talisman just dropped into our palms!" Sawyer was reading through his book from earlier, realizing a fatal flaw in the timing of Ripto's boasting. "We're going to rule Avalar forever, Sawyer! I can promise you royalty for your entire life!"
"Not yet, Ripto." Sawyer informed Ripto of the situation as he showed him the page in the book that showed all fourteen Talismans. "In order for my plan to be fully commenced, I need all fourteen Talismans." Sawyer then spawned an orb that showed Cynder receiving the last Talisman from Shorty in Shady Oasis. Thankfully, he already had a plan and was quick to inform Ripto about it. "There's an overlook in the Autumn Plains castle, correct? We will use that to start our next attack. I'll be here getting the Talismans ready. You will take Gulp tot he castle and attack it."
Ripto was quick to nod his head yes to that while addressing Sawyer in a manner he wasn't very fond of. "Yes, sir!"
"Please; call me Sawyer." Sawyer requested calmly, and then Sawyer snapped his fingers and spawned a massive stone with fourteen Talisman slots. Ripto was in awe as Sawyer then stated why he wanted Ripto not to call him 'sir'. "I despise titles." Sawyer put the Talismans into the stone, and it lit up once he did. This caused Ripto to gasp as Sawyer then informed Ripto of what his additional goal was. "Get that last Talisman, and this will be complete, and my goal will be that much closer to being achieved."
"Yes, Sawyer! Right away!" Ripto rushed off to get ready as Sawyer looked at the stone he spawned. He felt he was only that much closer to achieving his goal. Something Spyro wishes he could do much more quickly.
Spyro was walking around the Autumn Plains garden with Cynder and Elora, who felt he could use some time to cool down. Spyro felt safe in the garden too, and was glad that he finally had some time to cool down. Just then, Sparx came out from one of the flowers, leaving the three to realize that he hadn't been around for a while and was glad to see him again. "Sparx! We haven't seen you since the season started! Where have you been?" Sparx seemed a little confused, and then Spyro laughed a bit as he responded. "Makes sense. No one can explain everything, no matter how hard they try."
Cynder felt it would be important to fill Sparx in, since he was Spyro's dragonfly after all. "What matters is that you're here now, Sparx. We could use some extra help now that Sawyer and Ripto got a hold of most of the Talismans." Sparx seemed unsure of what a Talisman was, and Cynder showed him the one she had. "They look kinda like this."
Sparx memorized the look of the Talisman with Elora hoping that he could find a good way to help the group out. "I'll see if I can find a way for you to help us. It's pretty clear that you wanna help in some way."
Sparx was glad to hear that him helping was an option as Cynder hatched an idea on how to get the Talismans back. "I think I have an idea." Cynder was then quick to inform Sparx that this wasn't going to be an easy mission. "This won't be easy, Sparx. And it'll take until we get to Winter Tundra to make it happen." Sparx nodded in response. He was ready to help out in any way he could.
Hunter and Archer were looking around for some orbs in Zephyr with the help of both armies to increase their chances of recovering a decent amount of them. Both of them were able to find a total of two orbs in total, even if that was partially because of the ship from Breeze Harbor crashing into Zephyr. Archer was more than pleased so to speak. "This should be more than enough to start us off. Just gotta keep up this pace and Spyro will have enough power for the battle."
"I'm definitely stoked to see him destroy both of those monsters." Hunter responded, tightening his sack as he commented on how excitedly he's been waiting for this. "It's only been a couple days and I'm still hoping to see Sawyer and Ripto get taken down." Hunter and Archer fist bumped to that with hunter then taking notice to how both the Breeze Harbor and Zephyr clans working together. This led to him smiling as he brought it up. "So they really DID put their war to rest. Or, at least on hold for now."
Archer saw what Hunter was saying and was glad to see the two teams working together as well. It'd been a while since either clan had ever even thought about it before. "Not something you see every day." Archer then hatched a plan and went up to Hunter to share it with him. "Hey! What if we ask them to help us find some more orbs for the battle?"
Hunter liked that idea, being more than happy to support it as he tightened his bag. "That'd definitely give us an advantage. And we could even risk some of the bitter members from each side fighting if they're struggling to adjust."
"Exactly!" Archer exclaimed, being ready to get started on this one. "And if we end up searching with those ones, then we may even be able to convince them to open up to peace entirely." Hunter loved the sound of that as much as Archer did. The two noticed that instantly, and went over to the two clans to see if they were willing to help them.
Sawyer was creating a defensive portal for the Talismans he currently had, which was a barrier surrounded by incredibly strong dark magic. Once he had it set up, he was quick to notice Ripto coming up to inform him that he was ready for the next plan to commence. "Don't fail me this time, Ripto. I refuse to let Spyro and his friends stop my plans."
"Of course, Sawyer." Ripto assured Sawyer, and then he saw the portal spawn and was confused as to what was going on. "Um... aren't you coming with us? You're the only one strong enough to guarantee Spyro's defeat."
"Even so, it would be foolish to leave the Talismans unguarded." Sawyer reminded Ripto, knowing that all fourteen of them were required for his plan to be complete. "Even with the move that got us the Talismans Spyro and his friends originally had, they could still come up with a plan clever enough to get the rest of them unguarded." Ripto saw where Sawyer was going with this as the latter then explained why he couldn't come with now. "I'm saving the majority of my magic for when Spyro comes to face us here in Winter Tundra. To make this last with my absence would drain my magic more quickly than if I were present."
Ripto nodded in response as he assured Sawyer that he wouldn't fail him this time. "Understood the best I can, Sawyer. I'll make absolute sure to retrieve the last Talisman!" Ripto teleported off with his minions, along with Gulp, and Sawyer looked back at the Talismans while keeping his orb up. As he gazed at the empty slot, he plotted what he would do if Ripto were to fail to get him the last one.
Spyro, Cynder, and Elora were lying down in the flowers of the Autumn Plains garden, and Sparx was lying on his head. Cynder looked over to Spyro and saw how relaxed he was. She could tell there was still something on his mind though, and felt it wouldn't hurt to ask. "What're you thinking about, Spyro?"
Spyro wasn't entirely sure how to answer that one. It was more of a personal thing. Elora decided to give the two some privacy, along with Sparx, and allowed the two to talk. "You won't think it sounds dumb, will you?" Cynder nodded her head no, and Spyro laughed a bit before he answered. "Good." He then sighed as he began to explain. "I guess I'm just... I'm worried about how things will be with me and Ember."
Cynder wasn't expecting that kind of answer, at least not regarding Ember. She could tell that the two were incredibly close, even if Ember was saddened by the fact that Spyro wasn't with her. "Why would anything be wrong between you and Ember?"
"I've known about her crush on me for years." Spyro answered, and then he explained further what he meant as he started talking about how bad he felt for hurting her. "As soon as we started talking, I could tell she saw the kiss we shared and was hurt by it." Spyro then sat up, and Cynder did the same after a few more seconds of him talking. "I could never bare seeing anyone I cared about feeling that way. And it hurt even more knowing I was the cause of it." Spyro tried to contain his emotions to avoid freaking out over his dilemma. "Her look just screamed that I let her down."
Cynder was quick to assure Spyro that this wasn't the case. She was confident that Ember just needed time to herself. "You know the first thing Ember did when we learned that Sawyer sent you here?" Cynder put a palm on Spyro's shoulder as she explained. "She came back to Artisan with me and Flame, and we all started working on the portal to help bring you home." Spyro was surprised to hear that. Ember really WASN'T feigning her excitement when they learned they could still call each other. "That's enough proof to me that your friendship is still strong."
Spyro couldn't help but think about the other side of things however. And there was more to it than his fear of letting people down. "I don't know, Cynder. What if she still wants us to keep our distance when I get back? I can't just assume she-" Just then, something loud was heard from somewhere else in the castle, instantly alerting Spyro and Cynder. "What the heck was that?"
"Probably something we should check on. Let's move!" Spyro and Cynder moved out in the hopes that they could find what caused that loud sound. Cynder also hoped that Spyro wouldn't burden himself with these thoughts for too long now.
Back in the Artisan Home, Ember and Flame were at Spyro's house with Ember getting annoyed about something that was pretty obvious to Flame. It was another call from her mother, who she was still steamed at for what she said about Spyro. Ember put her phone on silent mode as she put it away, leaving Flame to ask her about it. "Why didn't you do that before?"
Ember thought for a moment and realized that she couldn't really think of a good answer for that. "Good question." Ember then thought about her mother for a moment and started to get annoyed again. She just wished she would stop being so uptight and strict all the time. "Sometimes I wish I had a mom like Ivy. Like you and Spyro do."
Flame laughed a bit as he then assured Ember that her desire wouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows. "You have no idea how hard it can be living in a house of five kids, Ember. Spyro and Jogger would fight all the time, Marci has these weird dark monster interests I could never get behind, and Nyra... well, she doesn't really stand out." Flame then had what could be a realization as to why that last one was so. "Then again, she IS five."
"I wouldn't mind living in a big family." Ember admitted, having wished she could've had at least one sibling before her parents separated. "After my parents divorced, the only company I ever really had was you and Spyro. I'm glad we have Cynder now, but still." Ember sighed and lamented on her lack of real family in Artisan. She wanted to still love her mother, but she didn't know how she could handle it with how she was behaving with her. "At least one sibling would be nice."
Flame tried to think of a way to console Ember, and he put a palm on her shoulder as he got her attention. "Hey." Ember looked at Flame, who said something that seemed to feel right to her. He also hoped with all of his heart that he didn't say the wrong thing and make her feel worse. "You think Spyro might've been that for you the whole time?"
Ember had to admit; she never thought about it like that. She'd always wondered what would happen if she and Spyro got together instead. She obviously valued his time, but in a different way. Could it be that Spyro saw her as a sister this whole time? And maybe that's why he didn't reciprocate her feelings? It all started to make sense now! And maybe Spyro wasn't the only one. She gazed at Flame, who'd been helping her this whole time, and hugged him. Flame was surprised, but he instantly realized why. He and Ember both smiled, and Flame wrapped his arms around Ember. Now they just hoped Ember could do the same with Spyro when he got back.
Spyro and the others made their way to the basement of Autumn Plains castle and were shocked by what they saw. What they saw was Ripto and Gulp having already destroyed one of the beams of the castle that was holding it together. Ripto quickly saw the group and couldn't help but cackle a bit as he saw them. "I knew that'd get your attention!"
"Dude; a lot of stuff would've gotten our attention." Hunter pointed out, and then Spyro's pin started to act up again. Spyro concealed it the best he could, and he nodded to Cynder, who flew down to Ripto and Gulp.
Spyro was quick to speak up to Ripto, taunting him as he got ready for battle. "Better pack your bags and leave, Ripto! The bounty Avalar has on your head will be mine to retrieve if you don't!"
"You'll have to get through Gulp first!" Upon Ripto's announcement, Gulp stopped smashing the pillar and went over to Ripto, who came up with a new idea. "Actually, I just thought of something better. You two, against me, and Gulp." Spyro and Cynder looked at Ripto and Gulp, and both of them seemed up for the challenge. That is... until Ripto made his wager. "If you win, then I'll leave the castle to stand. And if I win... you have to give me your Talisman."
Spyro and Cynder were concerned with that offer, but they knew they couldn't pretend they didn't find it. There was still a missing slot in the guidebook that needed to be filled, and no one else could've gotten it by this point. Cynder decided to take a shot at something and spoke up. "What makes you so sure WE have it? Surely you couldn't have actually gone to Shady Oasis yet to get the Talisman there."
"I have some my minions searching in that area just in case." Ripto assured Spyro and Cynder, and the two knew that there wasn't much getting out of this one. After all, they had to defend Autumn Plains, along with Avalar itself. "I think it's safe to say we have a deal!"
Spyro and Cynder looked at each other with both seeming excited to work together in battle again. "Well, Spyro, I'd say this is an upgrade from the last battle we did as a duo."
"Couldn't agree more, baby." Spyro affectionately replied, and then he took the leader role and stated a quick, and easy plan for them to remember. "I'll take on Ripto, and you take on Gulp."
"Oooh. Someone wants to be my knight in shining armor."
"Maybe I finally realized you want a knight in shining armor."
Ripto groaned in annoyance at the sight of Spyro and Cynder's flirting; not just because he hated dragons in general, but because it was dragging out this confrontation longer than it needed to be. "Can we get this over with or what!? Sawyer isn't exactly looking to write a romance novel, ya know!"
Spyro and Cynder ceased their flirting and got into battle positions, making it clear to Ripto and Gulp that they were both ready to battle. All four combatants charged at each other with Spyro instantly going for Ripto, knowing they would be lost even faster if he got the Talisman from Cynder. He successfully dodged his want blasts and hit him with a tail low sweep before launching him into the air with an upward tail strike. Ripto spawned a shield mid air and blocked Spyro's charging horn strike. He then knocked Spyro back with the purple dragon charging right back at him.
Gulp was launching cannonballs with the cannon on his back straight at Cynder, who successfully dodged the first two. As for the third one, she spawned a lightning bolt that knocked it to the side and then charged at Gulp. She went right over his fourth cannonball and went right for the cannon. When she got there, she stayed out of sight from the cannonball and started charging an attack. She then flew up, causing he cannonball to aim up upon Gulp's command, and dodged the sixth cannonball when diving down at him.
Spyro and Ripto were colliding blows with Spyro's claws and Ripto's wand, and the two stared each other down as Spyro grabbed the third wand strike. He smacked Ripto to the side now that he had an opening, just as Cynder dove down with her attack. It was an electricity covered claw punch, and she struck the inside of Gulp's cannon with it, just as it was about to fire again. This caused it to malfunction, leaving Cynder to move back and fly away as it did. And after a few seconds, the cannon suddenly exploding, rendering Gulp without a cannon as it went...
BOOM!
Now that the cannon was down, Cynder knew that Gulp would be too weak to continue the battle. She called to Spyro when she saw that Ripto was down "Spyro, now!", and Spyro instantly knew what it was for. Having dodged Ripto's wand blasts again, he knocked the wand into the air and sent it onto the other side of the arena. Afterwards, he smacked Ripto to the side and went for Gulp, who Cynder had just struck brutally with a strong lightning bolt.
Spyro went right underneath Gulp right before he could fall down, and with all of his might, he struck him in the stomach with the back of his tail and sent him into the air. This led to Cynder using some lightning rope on him with her wrist and holding onto it with both of her claws. With this, she spun Gulp around, which Ripto noticed just as he got to his wand. As Spyro started breathing fire on Gulp, he noticed Ripto getting ready to hit Cynder with some lock on blasts. Spyro decided to show off a little here, and smacked four of the blasts out of the way with ease.
One of them went outside the castle, two others hit different parts of the wall, and the last one went down to the floor right in front of Ripto. As Ripto launched his fifth one, Spyro got an idea and called over to Cynder. "Time to hit the jackpot, Cynder!" Cynder caught word of Spyro's call out and aimed her shot carefully as Ripto fired his final blast. It was a bigger one than the other four, and Cynder threw Gulp right into it, causing Ripto to flinch as it went right at his henchman.
Gulp got hit by the blasts and went towards the wall, causing another one of the pillars to crack with the roof shaking a bit in response to that. Thankfully, it didn't get anyone hurt, but Elora was still worried and let the dragons know to be careful with the castle. "Take it easy on the castle, you two! Autumn Plains can only take so much raw power!" Spyro gave a peace sign to Elora while Cynder gave a thumbs up herself, showing that they were both paying attention.
Ripto ran over to Gulp, only for Spyro to land on his back and stare Ripto down, much to Ripto's horror as his pin started to glow again. When his aura started spawning again, he started talking in a more vicious manner, causing Ripto to back up. "So. You want our last Talisman?" Spyro raised his claws and stabbed Gulp in the head, causing him to die on the spot. This shocked everyone else; not because of the fact that Spyro took Gulp out, but for the way he did it. Spyro tried to fight back however, and pulled his claws out before they could go in deeper.
Ripto was horrified by what he saw and cried out in agony as he saw his henchman having died before him. "Noooo! Gulp!" Spyro jumped down and confronted Ripto, and his dark aura surrounded them both as he did. Spyro didn't stop until he had Ripto by his coat, grabbing him as he made one simple demand, that he knew Ripto could oblige to.
"Where. Is. Sawyer?"
"He's in Winter Tundra!" Ripto blurted out, and then his staff started to glow, blinding Spyro as Ripto then backed away. "But I'm not gonna let you get to him so easily! Not until I have that last Talisman!"
"Over my dead body!" Spyro called out, and he stared to charge at Ripto, only to hear a cry for help nearby. He looked back and his aura instantly changed to a more fearfully driven purple, as Spyro had caught Sawyer holding Cynder in a headlock. "CYNDER!"
Ripto then knocked Spyro out before looking up at Sawyer, who made it clear that he wasn't risking anything. "Let me make this quick. Hand over the Talisman, or you both die." Ripto caught on and held his want up to Spyro, pulling up a cold spell, which horrified Cynder, as well as everyone else. Dragons were cold blooded, and couldn't handle freezing cold temperatures. Whatever they had planned, Cynder feared it would put Spyro out of commission for good.
To be continued.
An instrumental version of the main theme played during the credits.
