"I'm back." Makoto told and replaced the wet duvet with the one he brought. "..Kiri?"

"I'm trying to dry my clothes." She sounded from the bathroom.

"Okay... I really think we should drink something. If we don't we'll be dehydrated tomorrow." Naegi assumed.

".. Alright then. You can go ask him, just be careful." Kyoko agreed.

"Sure uh, do you think he could also give us some spare clothes?" He asked.

"If he wanted to he would already give us some. He saw me soaked." Kirigiri reminded.

"Yeah well, you have a point.. I'll be right back." Makoto went out of the room and came back with two water bottles. "You already in bed?" Makoto questioned.

"I only managed to dry my underwear." She answered almost wholly covered with the duvet.

"I'm sure the rest will dry overnight." Naegi smiled slightly and gave his friend one bottle. "He said these were the last ones cause he doesn't drink water anymore, replaced it with some "Despair soda"."

"He has to be kidding.." Kyoko removed the cap and stared for a while. "We lost anyway so.. here goes nothing." She took a few sips of the water and placed the bottle on the desk behind the bed.

"So... that's it I guess." Makoto drank from his bottle and put it on the other side of the desk. "I'm gonna go try to dry my stuff." He told and headed to the exit.

"Wait. Use my bathroom, I used just four of the towels." Kirigiri suggested.

"I- I probably won't be able to dry my pants either." Naegi replied.

"That's not a problem. You're staying for the night, right?" She asked.

"I- what?" Makoto questioned in confusion even while still remembering its roleplay.

"Don't worry, you're not the only one that's tired. We can just cuddle." Kyoko proposed.

"Uh!- well, y-yeah, um.. s-sure." Naegi agreed with a spreading blush on his face and went to the bathroom. Just like he thought he only managed to dry his panties. When he was done he wore them and ran out to the room's light switch. "Okay uh, now this is pitch black."

"Follow my voice." Kirigiri told.

"R-right." Makoto slowly walked over to the bed. As soon as he cautiously lay down his friend covered him with the duvet. Then she carefully rolled him over on his left side and cuddled him from behind.

"Can you hear me well?" She whispered very silently close to his ear.

"Mhm." Naegi sounded silently.

"Alright, listen: [...]" Kyoko talked about her plan for a few minutes. "So, that's pretty much it. You got it?"

"Yeah, I- I think so." He answered nervously.

"..This environment brought you back bad memories didn't it?" Kirigiri questioned.

"If you can handle it, I can too." Makoto replied quietly but cheerfully.

"Glad to hear it." She said and lay on her back. "Goodnight."

Makoto lay in the same position as his friend making them barely fit in the single bed. "...Um, a-about being authentic, that camera probably has some sort of, night vision or, infrared right? I- I'm not suggesting anything, but-"

Kyoko lay in her previous position and put her right hand on his left shoulder. "Is this authentic enough?"

"L-looks good to me.. Goodnight." He told and closed his eyes.

Before Kirigiri fell asleep, she couldn't stop a smile from spreading on her face.

Camera room

"I will go get some sleep as well if you don't mind." The scientist got up.

"I actually do mind. Let's have some fun before the big day tomorrow, show me what's on the TV." Junko commanded from the speakers.

"As you wish." He went back to the desk to grab his laptop and camera. Afterward, he headed back to his apartment and sat on the couch. "Just give me a second." The four-eyes placed his stuff on the coffee table in front of him and connected the camera with the mobile computer with a cable. "Should be all good."

"It's fine. Come on, show me what they've got." Enoshima ordered.

"Of course." The man picked up a remote and lay his back against the couch. Shortly after he pressed the red button on the remote the display began showing a trial situated inside of a pyramid.

"Huh? Wha the hell is this? Don't tell me they're making cheap ass copies of my killing games!" She shouted in anger.

"I hate to bring it to you but they've already made a ton of these." The blue-haired informed.

"Fuckin' morons. They know nothing about the art of despair.. Show me something else." Junko demanded.

"What would you like to watch? They have torturing, raping, genocide.. my personal favorite are various biological experiments." He told.

"Are there any fashion programs?" Enoshima asked.

"I- I think there was one." The scientist browsed through channels until he reached the "Hopeless Vogue". It was currently streaming a fashion runway.

"These ain't bad but I'll want something custom-made. That's right, the first thing we do after I enter my new body is get me some fancy duds!" She cheered.

"Excuse me um, we?" The man questioned.

"Duh. I need you in case I malfunction or somethin', like obviously." Junko stated.

"Oh, I- I can assure you that your new body is free of any glitches or imperfections. It really the most advanced auto repair-"

"Yeah yeah, we'll see about that. Anyways, it's about damn time I come back to the living and tidy this mess. I'll have to copyright Monokuma and stuff. Those folks won't rob me of my intellectual property ya know?" Enoshima told.

"I- I'm sorry to bring this up your highness but, since The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History there are no laws in most places. Even if they were you wouldn't be able to earn any-"

"You overthink waaay too much. I don't need your advice, but you could really use mine. Why don't you go and unwind for the night? After months of work you really earned it." She said.

"Thanks but, there's no need for me to go outside. I'm good here." The scientist refused.

"You really don't wanna kill some buddies? Rape some chicks?" Junko asked.

"That sounds.. hopelessly great but, m-maybe some other time..." He declined.

"You're not a remnant are you? You just love tech more than anything, more than your own son." Enoshima stated.

"H-huh?" The man sounded in surprise.

"Oh don't worry he's safe. There's no despair in killing robots. Maybe we could even become a couple? Two hopeless automatons! Hell yeah!" She shouted with enthusiasm.

"T-that's not true! I love him more than anything and I- I won't let you-"

"Shh, sh sh shhh. Don't say something you're gonna regret. I know what you're up to. You're keeping yourself alive and secretly building parts for him. But in exchange for what? Reviving me! You're gonna push the world into a giant hole of endless despair just for this? Are you nuts?!" Junko questioned.

The four-eyes looked down and didn't answer.

"Keep being useful and nobody's gonna find out. How does that sound to ya?" She asked. "..You still there?"

"You don't see the bigger picture." The roboticist told.

"I don't care. I asked you a question." Enoshima pointed out.

"I would really like to make things stay as they were." He answered.

"Awesome. Now go have a nap. Things need to go real smooth tomorrow." Junko stated.

"I waited so long for this day to come.. I'm not sleeping tonight." The scientist declined and went to a painting of The Ultimate Despair holding a Monokuma. He took it down and stared through the window that was covered with it.

The Ultimate Detective's dorm. Morning

Kyoko woke up with her head on her friend's shoulder and her leg placed on his. After she regained consciousness she instantly sat up and rubbed her eyes. "It's fourth time in a row we're sleeping like this... We have to stop." Kirigiri thought to herself, turned on the lights and went to the bathroom.

After a few minutes the illumination awakened Makoto who got surprised with the disappearance of his friend. "Kiri?" He called after a yawn.

"I'm here." Kyoko came out of the bathroom wearing her clothes.

"You already dressed? I don't know the time but I definitely feel like it's too early." Naegi told.

"I got enough sleep. You can take your time though." She stated and sat on the bed.

"Of course I'm not gonna keep you waiting." Makoto smiled and headed over to the sink to wash his face. "I was never a good actor, but this needs to work out." He spoke in his mind and wore his almost dry clothes.

"So, what's up?" Naegi questioned and joined his former classmate.

"..I don't want us to die here, not after everything we went through." She told in an emotional voice.

"Kiri I- I'm gonna figure something out it'll be alright." Makoto put his hand on his friend's shoulder.

"Screw Junko, if we destroy her they can always build a new one. We need to tell him, we surrender and retreat from fighting the despairs. Our duty is over. Enough charity, we're risking our lives for people we don't know." Kirigiri pointed out.

"That's not true! We're fighting for everyone including our people! What about Komaru? Our friends? F-fuhito? Our school?" He kept asking until his colleague embraced him in a hug.

"We just simply don't have a choice anymore. We did have it back in the village, where we decided to save the natives. But at what cost?" Kyoko questioned.

"Maybe.. m-maybe you're right, it's finally time to take care of ourselves. No matter if the world is in despair or not, I want to live with you. I- I want it more than anything." Naegi confessed and hugged back.

"I'm glad you feel the same way... Let's end this madness." She stood up.

"You think he's going to take the deal?" Makoto asked.

"We'll convince him." Kirigiri assured.

Soon after their conversation the Ultimates appeared in front of the scientist's door.

"Knock knock."

"Finally sleepyheads!" The man opened and cheered. "You're right on time."

"Before you launch Junko, we wanted to talk." Naegi requested.

"Oh I see, okay then. Come in." He agreed and they walked into his apartment. "Speak your mind."

Makoto closed the door while his friend approached the four-eyes.

"Back off, this room has no cameras." He pulled out his taser.

"We want to surrender." Kyoko stated calmly.

"Surrender? Aren't you already captured?" The man questioned.

"Since the situation went out of control there are nukes to be launched targeting many captured cities in Africa. I'm assuming we're currently in one of them." Kirigiri told.

"Huh, and why are you telling me this now? Why would I believe you?" He asked.

"We originally planned to destroy the robot and escape, but there's no time. The bombs are going to be dropped in less than half an hour. We can still cancel them." Makoto assured.

"Alright then, I'll bring you your earbuds and you'll call off this ridiculous bluff." The roboticist said and turned towards a metal door.

"Wait!" Naegi stepped forward and grabbed his shoulder. "If you want to finally launch that robot, let her go and she'll nix the bombing."

"Why let her go? I think we all know you're a lot more meaningful to the Foundation." He pointed out still not believing in his words.

"She's.. she's pregnant. And there's no way she's dying here! You let her free or we'll all die! We'll all die in minutes! All of us! Including your beloved robot who wasn't even turned on!" Naegi shouted and shook his shoulders making his glasses fall down.

"WHoA WhoA- f-fine it's okay! I- I'm going to discuss it with Junko." He kneeled down blindly searching for his spectacles. When he found his loss and got up, he saw The Ultimate Detective holding his taser.

"Make a sound and I'll fry her motherboard." Kyoko threatened. "Lie down, hands on your back."
