Mother's dark love

Gladion, Lillie, and Lusamine

Pokemon

xxxxxxxxxxx

Sitting in her studies was a woman in a white bathrobe with long blond hair holding a folder. She had a sour look on her face before looking up at one of her scientists, Faba. "Do you mean to tell me that the Ultra Beast Hunters, which cost the Aether Corporation millions, are a failure?"

"Yes ma'am, it seems each one of them we attempt to correct have a minor error that usually ends in their death. We've tried this several times, but nothing comes close to your standards or can even walk without falling. And the three Type: Full's have rejected the RKS System, before going berserk. We have subdued them and outfitted them with limiter helmets. For now I request to put them in Cryogenic Stasis, for research purposes of course."

The woman stood up and glared at her. "How much longer will this take before we get results? I'm growing more and more tired of no results coming in each day."

"We have some theories from old legends of legendary pokemon that can actually traverse into the Ultra wormholes." Faba stated. "Of course it could just be the ramblings of ancient people."

"I don't care what it is, if there's even a tiny possible link, find those pokemon!"

"Y-Yes ma'am." Faba nodded nervously before leaving the room.

She sighed to herself then looked down to a photo that made her anger turn to sadness. She sniffled and cry tears that ran down her cheeks. "It's not fair. Everytime we get close it gets pulled away from us. Is this something that'll take years to come? Or am I doomed to a lonely life without you?" she hiccuped and moved a hand over the glass in the frame.

In it showed her besides a man with shorter blond hair with both smiling together on the beach.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before putting the photo down. "All I can do now is wait for a report. I may as well take this time to relax." she leaned back in her chair while folding her hands in front of her while unaware of sparks outside her window that were coming from midair itself. Soon an ultra wormhole began to form.

'A little nap is all I-' she thought before the door suddenly slammed open and she sat up with a scowl. "What is it?!"

"An ultra wormhole has been detected ma'am, just outside the building!" a female worker replied. "Look out the window!"

She swiveled her chair around and went wide eyed seeing the wormhole and felt her breath leave her. "It….it's there! It's really there! Ready the Beast Balls and get everyone out there! Whatever comes out does not go back in! The first one to capture an Ultra Beast gets a hefty raise!"

"Yes ma'am!" saluted the worker running out with Lusamine behind her while the worker ran to spread the word as the leader ran to the elevator and took it down to the lower level before speeding outside and stopped as she looked up at it.

"After all these years, an ultra wormhole and right at my own doorstep." she muttered before slowly smiling. "My dream is so close! Once I capture an Ultra Beast, or even more then one, I'll be able to harness the power of their world!"

The doors opened and numerous workers and scientists came running out.

"Listen all of you! Whatever comes you, capture it! If even one of them gets away you can expect ot to be deducted from your holiday bonuses! Do I make myself clear!"

"Yes ma'am!" they chorused while running to take a firm position spread out while they heard an unknown cry that echoed across the ground and came from the hole with three figures emerging.

The first was large, with bulging muscles that appeared to be made out of sacs that were filled with a red fluid that had small white bubbles rising in it. These muscles also had white "veins" running through them. There were also black spikes on it's body, particularly its shoulders, elbows and knees. Its head was small and flat, with two red compound eyes, and two black, spherical basal joints for its red and black antennae between them. Protruding from under these joints was a long, silver proboscis, It had four legs without feet and two pairs of orange, translucent wings.

The second had a thin build and was mostly white. It had a segmented body, having five segments dividing its torso. Its neck was long and narrow, and had small semicircular face. It had narrow white eyes with purple irises, and blue pupils, and its thin legs looked suited for running and kicking, with golden pads at the joints. Its feet consisted of two twig-like structures, rather resembling high-heeled shoes.

Finally the third was mostly white with tentacles shaped like the hair, dress, and legs of a girl. The top of its head was a bell that resembles a sun hat. The bell was transparent save for six pointed stars around the crown, and the brim had a blue edge. The ends of the "hair" flew out, resembling arms, and the outer tentacles of the "dress" had two bubbles inside.

"The Ultra Beasts….all of you! Get them!" ordered Lusamine.

The workers and scientists Tossed out pokeball releasing their various pokemon.

"GO!"

They called out and their pokemon unleashed their attacks. Physical, mental, and even elemental.

The white cockroach looking over narrowed its eyes before swinging it's arms as Swift was used and rained down at them, causing mini explosions.

The hulking mosquito used Close Combat on any pokemon that came in its reach.

The jellyfish sent out a strong wave of Venoshock that poisoned most of the pokemon in one shot.

"Do not let up! Wear them down!" Lusamine called out.

The battling continued for what seem like hours, some of the pokemon got a lucky hit or two in, but it was clear the Ultra Beasts weren't going down without a fight.

"Milotic use Twister!" ordered Lusamine.

The elegant water type narrowed its gaze and complied, catching them in the vortex of wind. But the roach-like one managed to break the vortex away with it's legs before the mosquito used Hyper Beam, knocking the pokemon away and knock it out in one go.

However the Jellyfish-like ultra beast slammed into a wall before falling to the ground.

Taking the opportunity the Female worker from before pulled out a beast ball and threw at the downed beast. It hit it's head before the ball opened and the beast turned red before getting sucked into it. As the ball fell to the ground the two remaining beasts retreated back to the wormhole.

"Stop them!" ordered Lusamine in desperation.

"Use Fury Cutter!" ordered one of the men as his Scyther flew up at them and swung its blade arms, only nicking one of the mosquito-like one's thorns from its shoulder and a portion of the cockroach-like one's antennae making them cry out in pain just before they went through the wormhole.

"Damn it!" Lusamine clenched her hand and glared as it closed up. "We were so close, so fucking close! How could you let them all get away!?"

"They didn't all get away ma'am." spoke the female worker nervously as she carried over the beast ball. "I managed to capture one after Milotic's Twister."

She looked at the ball and walked over before taking it and felt some satisfaction. "This is a start. It shows that my dream can still be claimed. Faba! Take this to the lab and make sure it's secured while getting as much info as you can….Faba?" she looked around before seeing the man squatting down a few feet away.

"Interesting." he remarked reaching out and picking up the pieces of the Ultra Beast's.

"Faba, what are you doing?" Lusamine questioned.

He stood up and held the pieces out. "I think this was more of a catch then you might think. We have one Ultra Beast, and the DNA of the other two as well." he said with a grin. "Imagine what I can find with just these small bits alone? Add that with a complete one captured, I might be able to figure out the way to their world in a month at the least, maybe even slightly longer."

"Hmm… very interesting." the woman smiled. "Find out as much as you can from them."

"As you wish ma'am."

"The rest of you return to your stations."

"Yes ma'am." all of them walked away while Lusamine herself slowly chuckled under her breath.

"This is perfect." she grinned. "So close, it's all so close." soon the chuckle turned into laughter. "Soon I will have everything I dreamed of."

(Two weeks later)

"What!" Lusamine yelled at Faba. "They don't have the power to actually open the portals?"

"It's what it sounds like. The Ultra Beasts may pass through, but it would seem they're not physically capable to create them." Faba spoke.

She slammed her hands on her desk and stood up. "Then what are we going to do? Because you better have a backup plan."

"Well there is the legendary pokemon I mentioned. I've had a team searching for it after the wormhole opened just in case. The good news is we may have a lead."

"Tell me then."

"Our scouts found a strange pokemon and managed to get a picture of it." The scientist spoke and pulled out a picture.

She looked at it to see a pokemon with no limbs and seemed to hover with a black face and surrounded by blue with two appendages above it that looked like ears. "Strange."

"This was taken near the ruins at the lake of moone."

"Did you see if you could track it?"

"The creature is small which makes it very elusive, and as far as we know it has no moves other than teleport."

She glared at the photo and put it down. "I want it found as soon as possible. Even if it takes years, I want it found."

"Consider it done ma'am. Oh and before I go," he reached into his pocket and pulled out a beast ball. "I thought you might want to add the Ultra Beast to your party. I have learned all I need from it so it's useless to me."

"How kind of you, I can make sure it can properly follow my orders without fail." she said taking the Beast Ball. "Does it have a name?"

"Indeed ma'am, Nihilego." Faba replied.

"Nihilego, it's perfect. And what progress have you made with those other samples?"

"Our attempts to clone them with conventional methods is proving to be more difficult than expected." Faba admitted with a frown. "Their genetic code is unlike any normal pokemon."

"So zero results." she frowned with a scowl.

"Well there have been results, only…" Faba cleared his thought. "Well let's just say that unless you want them to have extra heads or other body parts then you're in luck, although they don't survive for longer than a few days."

"Damn it!" she hissed slamming her fist into her desk.

"With a little more time I may be able to-"

"I don't care, do whatever it takes." she cut him off before standing from her seat. "In the meantime I will be putting my new Ultra Beast to the test."

"Yes ma'am."

The woman walked through the halls and made her way to the front of her home behind her office building. She looked down at the Ultra Ball and relaxed as she entered the front door. "Nihilego, come out."

The ball opened as the Ultra Beast came out and floated up in front of her.

"Look at you." She said before moving her hand over the bell. "The thing I've wanted for years in my grasp, and soon I'll get the power from the other two. Of course I can only assume there are even more Ultra Beasts in your world. When I find the legendary Pokemon able to travel between the worlds, I'll finally have my dream fulfilled."

"Mommy?"

Lusamine blinked and quickly turned around to see her children. Her daughter was holding a Teddiursa doll in one arm and her son was holding a blanket. "Lillie? Gladion? What are you two doing up?"

"You didn't come to say goodnight." Her three year old son said holding his two year old sister's free hand.

"Who dat pokimon?" Asked Lillie looking at Nihilego with her head tilted.

"Oh...this is Nihilego, it'll be staying with us for a while. And you two are going back to bed right now." She said before walking over to them and picked up Lillie then grabbed Gladions hand.

"Aw, but we not tired." spoke her son before letting out a yawn.

"You need your rest, and I need to train with Nihilego."

"Can't we wat?" asked her daughter while staring at the Ultra Beast. "Nihigo pretty."

"Yes it is, but perhaps in the morning you can watch." she replied while reaching their room and started setting them down in their beds. "Good night you two."

"Nighty night." Lillie yawned and nuzzled under the covers.

"Night mommy." yawed Gladions closing his eyes.

Lusemine giggled softly while looking at her children "They're so adorable." she said before leaving the room. She looked at Nihilego and nodded to her left and began walking to the basement where she had an underground arena. Her smile then turned to a frown as she looked at the beast then back upstairs. "My children need someone in their life, but I need to focus my efforts to my goal. Alright Nihilego, show me what you can do."

(2 years later)

"Bring out the next training dummies!" Lusamine ordered as the damaged practice dummies were replaced.

"We don't have anymore, they're all busted up." spoke one of the workers.

"Already?"

"Aw!" Whined a voice from the sidelines.

"You two keep it down, this is important." the woman said to her children with a stern tone.

"Ok." they nodded while going quiet.

"Someone get me something to aim for!"

"But what?"

She looked at the employee and grinned at him. "Go stand over there and don't move."

He reeled back in shock before his shoulders slumped. "Yes ma'am." he walked out on the target range and faced the Ultra Beast. 'I should have just called in sick.'

"Now Nihilego, Thunderbolt!"

The Ultra Beast sparked before letting out a bolt at the employee who went wide eyed. Upon contact he spasmed and twitched and when it was over he fell to the ground.

"You two," she looked at two other employees at the side. "Take him to the medical center, and make a note that he'll be receiving a hefty bonus for his assistance."

They nodded and ran over to help the dude up while he had swirls in his eyes and his hair was puffed up.

After they left Lusamine walked up to Nihilego and showered it with praise.

"Good work Nihilego, you're getting stronger and stronger every day. Of course your power can never compare to your beauty my wonderfully gorgeous Ultra Beast. You are without a doubt the most precious thing in my life."

Hearing that made her children feel like someone hit them in the stomach, hard. They said nothing as Gladion grabbed his sister's hand and lead them out.

"Does….does mommy still love us?" asked Lillie while holding her Teddiursa plush close.

Gladion spared one last look at their mother who hugged Nihilego's ball as she giggled. "...I don't know." He spoke before slamming the door.

"Huh?" Lusamine heard the slam and looked to where her children were sitting. "Lillie? Gladion?" she looked and saw they were nowhere insight. "Kids? Where could they- oh no. Did what I say hurt them?" she questioned. 'Oh Arceus, I have to find them.'

In his lab Faba was writing down on a clipboard while the antennae and piece of the Ultra Beasts rested in some beakers. He put the board down and looked through his old notes his blood boiled before growled and swept the papers off in a fit of rage. "Blast it all! Nothing I do yields any positive results! I've tried every conventional method!"

As he raged he failed to notice the door to his lab slowly opening.

"Mr. Faba sounds mad Glady. We shouldn't be in here." Lillie said to her brother.

"We're just gonna look at what he's doing." he whispered while dragging her in as the door shut.

"Confound it all! Why can't I figure this out!" cried Faba groaning while not noticing the kids move near the beakers.

"Huh? What are these?" Gladion asked. He pulled one of them over while Lillie was confused as they looked at the red piece.

"What is that?"

"I don't know." he replied shaking it around and looked at the other. "There's another one up there."

Lillie grabbed it as Faba paced.

"Two years I've been on this project and yet I have nothing to show for it! Lusamine will no doubt cut my funding again if I don't come up with results." He said while the children examined the breakers. "Just one sign, one sign that there is hope!" he shouted before turning and saw the children and jumped. "What the, when did you two get in here?" he questioned but paled when he saw they were holding the beakers.

"A few seconds ago." spoke Gladion while holding the beaker up. "What are these?"

"Children….put...those...down...gently." he said, "They are for a high priority project for your mother."

Hearing that made Lillie look down sadly while Gladion frowned and looked at it more closely.

"Does it involve Nihilego?" Asked Gladion with malice.

"Well, not necessarily, but it does involve two other Ultra Beasts that were seen before. Now please, just carefully set them down."

They did as they were told and set them down.

"Now why don't you two go off and play with your mother? This place isn't suited for children."

"She's playing with her dumb Nihilego." Gladion said with his arms crossed. "She likes it more that she likes us."

"I wish we were Ultra beasts so she'd love us again." Lillie stated with a frown

"Well that seems crazy. After all you two are her…" he stopped when he heard that last part and felt a light bulb click. "Um... Would you excuse me for a moment while I go over some notes?" he said before dropping on his knees and scrambled to collect some of the scattered papers.

The kids didn't understand, but simply let him grab his papers and set them around in specific placement as he read them.

"Yes...Yes...YES! THAT'S IT!" he declared with a smile making the children jump. "I've got the answer!" he looked at the children and shook their hands wildly. "Thank you children! You're brilliant! Your mother will be extremely pleased."

"Uh?" they responded before looking at each other with question marks over their heads.

The door opened and Lusamine walked in. "Kids, there you are. I was worried you too had gotten lost."

"Liar." Gladion frowned. "You were more concerned with that Ultra Beast then you were about us. Ever since you got it you spend less time with us."

"Gladion listen, what I said back there was on impulse. I swear I didn't mean it to sound like I cared about it more then you two."

"Hmph." he turned away while walking away. "Liar."

"Lillie?" Lusamine turned to her daughter who looked torn. "Please believe me, I do love you and your brother."

"I want to but…." she looked away with sadness. "You looked happier with Nihilego."

"Lillie."

"Um madam, I'm sure is this is a most opportune time, but I figured out a solution to our little problem."

"Faba, now is not a good time." spoke Lusamine with a glare.

"I thought as much, but if I could have your attention for just a moment."

"Not. Now." she hissed before turning Lillie towards her. "Lillie please listen. You and your brother are the most important things in my life, that will never change." she said kneeling in front of her. "Don't you trust me?"

Lillie whimpered before she darted off towards the door. "No!"

Gladelion glared at his mother and followed his sister.

She was stunned and felt like her heart shattered as they left and she looked at the floor feeling a rush of sadness coming up.

Faba felt awkward as she fell back in his work chair. 'Oh…..perhaps I should wait till after she wakes up.' he thought scratching the back of his neck.

(Later)

Lusamine was at her desk rubbing her head. "I can't believe that just happened." she said as felt her heart twist in knots "My own children hate me, and who can blame them?"

*knock* *knock* *knock*

"Go away, I'm not in the mood."

"Ma'am I know you're not in the best mood right now, but I really must speak with you."

"I'm not in the mood!" she snapped at Faba.

He sighed before pushing the door open and walked in. "Ma'am, I'm serious. I've had a major breakthrough that will bring up your spirits. I found a way to solve our Ultra Beast dilemma."

She looked at him with a serious expression. "Then talk."

"Well I have found it's impossible to perfectly replicate the genetic code but we can splice the DNA with another creature"

"So there IS a chance to create a new Ultra Beast is what you're saying."

"Well… more of a hybrid, but yes. I simply need your permission to go forward….and test subjects."

"Proceed, if you have positive results testing with simple strands then we will talk."

"Yes ma'am." Faba nodded then left.

Lusamine looked at the ball Nihilego was in and was conflicted. On one hand she had the chance to claim the power of a three Ultra Beasts together, but on the other she had given her kids reason to hate and distrust her when she had said the wrong thing out of context. "What am I going to do?" on one hand she could have her dream fulfilled with extra, but on the other she still had her kids to think about.

She gripped the ball and bit her lip. "I've gone on for years to wait, and it's oh so close….but my children are all I have left." she stood up with a determined look. "I have to talk to them."

Faba himself whistled while slowly putting the small extracts into a machine while sealing them in. "First to grind them into find powder." he said activating the machine. He stepped back as the pieces slowly began to have pressure applied on all sides before they cracked and started breaking with the machine mashing them over and over again. "This is all the genetic material we have left. If this fails like the clones…well children, let's just say ol' Uncle Faba is gonna be in a lot of trouble."

The two kids sat on the counter while watching the chunks get smaller until the machine stopped and Faba took the containers out before dumping a concoction in both before he pulled the substance out with two needles which made them squeamish.

"Now then, Gladion this will make you stronger than any other boy your age." Faba spoke. "You will have the power to defend those you love."

"Wow." he grinned.

"As for you Lillie, this will give you more confidence, unrivaled beauty, elegance, and just like your brother you will have amazing powers to help those around you. However the process will hurt like the dickens."

The children snorted at the last word.

"Yes yes very amusing, now hold out your arms and brace yourselves for a little pinch."

The two shyly did while he rolled up their sleeves and first slowly pushed a needle into Gladion's arm.

"Ow!" the boy winced. "That hurts."

"I did warn you." Faba replied before injecting Lillie.

"Ow!" she whined as she rubbed her arm after he pulled it out.

"I hope this works." the man muttered.

"What?" the children questioned.

"Oh, uh, nothing." he quickly said while looking at them. "So, do you…. feel any different?"

"Not yet." Lillie said.

"I feel the same." remarked her brother before he groaned and wrapped his arms around his torso. "Ah!"

"There we go." he spoke and grabbed a clipboard.

Gladion fell to his knees while Lillie fell back on the table, both grabbing at their bodies with groans of pain. "It hurts!"

"Bare with it children." spoke Faba while jotting down notes. "The painful feeling should start turning into a tingling sensation if my calculations are right." he said before seeing their appearances change a little.

Gladion's arms seemed to slowly bulge under his sleeves with two thin antennae grew out from his head and his skin turned slightly reddish.

Lillie's skin grew pale as her eyes turned blue and two antenna stretched out near her feet.

"Interesting." he muttered while jotting that down. "Changes in pigmentation and added appendages while pain seems to have dulled down, fascinating."

Slowly the two kids panted while looking themselves over with wide eyes.

"Success." Faba smiled. "Congratulations children, you have become the first Human/Ultra Beast hybrids in existence."

"We're bugs!" cried out Gladion while wide eyed as Lillie looked close to fainting.

"Technically you are bug types."

"Ahhh! I don't like this! Turn us back!" spoke Lillie while running around in panic.

"There is no way to change you back, it's permanent." Faba spoke.

Gladion growled and swung his hand on the table, causing a large crack to form and catch them off guard. "Woah, did….did I just do that?"

"Remarkable." Faba breathed. "Your strength has skyrocketed, I mean I knew it would increase but I didn't think the Ultra Beast DNA would take to your own so well."

"But I don't wanna stay like this!" spoke Lillie close to tears.

"I can understand this being scary Lillie, but you must try to look on the bright side and see how good this can be for you both." He said trying to sound encouraging. "You both have a chance to use powers by the Ultra Beasts that can rival all sorts of legendaries. After all, you've seen what Nihilego is capable in a battle, right? Think of it like….being half pokémon."

"You mean, we could use moves like them?" asked Gladion.

"Exactly, but only specific ones. Gladion, you are now a bug/fighting type. So you are mostly restricted to moves like Strength and X-Scissor."

"How do I use them?" he asked while interested. "Do I call out the name?"

"No no, you train like any ordinary Pokémon."

"What about me?" Asked Lillie

"You are also a bug/fighting type, but your best area is speed so I think your move sets would be mostly set on Silver Wind and Jump Kick."

"Are you sure mommy will love us like this?" Lillie asked

"It's possible," Faba rubbed his chin. "but…."

"But what?" They questioned

"If she learns of me willingly turning you into what you are now… she might fire me and I won't be able to teach you how to master your new powers."

That made them wide eyes before they heard footsteps outside the door.

"Faba, I need to speak with you." came Lusamine's voice with a knock.

Their eyes widened before Faba quickly grabbed a cloth and tossed it over the kids. "Don't make a sound." he whispered before walking over and opened it slightly. "Yes ma'am?"

"I can't seem to find the children, have you seen them?"

"The children? No not that I can think of, I've just been busy with my experiments on the Ultra Beast's DNA. I think I might have made a breakthrough."

"Well if you do see them let them know I….I'm sorry." she looked away. "I'm just… Maybe they went outside."

"Well if I see them I'll let them know you're looking for them." Faba spoke as she walked away. He shut the door and sighed in relief. "All clear children."

They threw off the blanket and walked up. "What did she want?"

"She was looking for you."

"Probably to show off her pokemon." frowned Gladion looking away.

"Nihilego is not a Pokemon, it is an Ultra Beast, there is a distinct difference."

"Whatever, it's still stupid." he muttered.

"Should we go see her?" asked Lillie.

"No!" Faba shouted out quickly, making them jump. "Look, I can't afford to lose my job and you will need me to keep an eye on your new forms. So… you to will have to take the blame since you have less to lose than I do."

"You want us to get into trouble for you?" frowned Gladion.

"Just this once. She'll believe that it was a desperate cry for attention." he pleaded. "If you do I'll help make sure you two can get use to any of the moves you can use in no time. Otherwise you'll be left to figure it out on your own."

The kids looked at each other while uncertain while Lillie fiddled with her fingers.

"Look it's simple, you help me and I'll help you."

"Fine, but I want to fight Nihilego when we're done." spoke Gladion.

"Done, shake on it."

The two kids shook his hands with the scientist jumping for joy in his head.

(Later)

"Ow! Ow! Ow! You're pinching too hard." whined Gladion to Faba who was holding him and Lillie by their ears.

"I apologize, but it has to look real, I'll get you some ice cream later." he whispered before they stopped at Lusamine's office and gave a knock on it. "Miss Lusemine, I need to speak with you."

"I'm busy." she spoke while inside she was trying to call up some of the other employees to see if they spotted her kids.

"This can't exactly wait, there's been a little accident." he said before opening the door.

She growled and turned to him, but suddenly stopped when she saw her kids and felt joy, but suddenly went horrified at seeing the changes and dropped the phone. "What….in….Arceus'….Name…"

"They snuck into my lab when I went to use the restroom and messed around with my chemicals."

She dropped to her knees and looked them over. "What sort of chemicals could do THIS?!"

"Chemicals that had the remaining Ultra Beast DNA for my latest experiment." the scientist answered. "Apparently they got thirsty, and drank them."

"Sorry mommy." spoke Lillie looking away. "We heard it would make us into Ultra Beasts, like Nihilego."

"We figured you'd pay attention to us again like before." spoke Gladion. "All you wanna do any more is spend time with that stupid jellyfish."

She looked at them with shock while feeling a pang hit her in the heart. "Faba can you reverse it?" She asked before the scientist shook his head.

"The DNA stuck to their own bodies faster than I thought and trying to force it out of them could risk their lives." he explained.

"You mean, they'll have to live like this?"

"I'm so sorry ma'am."

She let out a deep sigh and pulled her children closer before hugging them. "I'm so sorry you two." she said sadly. "I never meant for you to ever think I loved Nihilego more than either of you. You two are the most precious thing to me in the world, and that will never EVER change. I'll help you get through this."

"Really mommy?" asked Lillie hugging her back.

"Really." she nodded while kissing them on the foreheads.

"So we're not in trouble?" asked Gladion.

"Oh you're in trouble." she frowned. "Going in and drinking some random stuff you don't know about is irresponsible, and that's why I'm going to help make sure you can adjust to this change. Starting now you're grounded until further notice."

"Awwwww."

(2 years later)

"Alright Lillie, try to hit the target."

"Okay." she looked at the target a bit away from her then took a deep breath before running over at it. She jumped up higher than a normal person with her right foot glowing and swung it at the target and smashed it to bits. She landed and was stunned while Faba clapped. "I….I really did it."

"Nice one sis."

"Alright Gladion, your turn. Let's see your Dynamic Punch."

He walked over near another target before clenching his fist as it glowed, then jumped at it before yelling and slammed it into the target blowing it apart. "Booyah."

"Excellent, spot on for both of you." smiled Faba jotting down on a clipboard. "You're progressing nicely."

"I'm getting the hang of this." spoke Gladion said giving a few jabs.

"At this rate you two might just be able to take on a pair of Machamps."

"What about Nihilego?" Gladion asked clenching his fist.

"Hard to say," The scientists shrugged. "Your mother's trained it quite well over the years."

"I'll knock it down with just one punch." he said pretending to punch Nihilego. "Lillie here can even help me kick it's butt."

Lillie rubbed her arm. "Uh, I don't think-"

The door opened and Lusamine walked in. "Faba, report." she said. "How are their lessons progressing?"

"Well both are progressing just fine and should be ready for some spars with the other pokemon in no time." he replied.

"Well that's good to hear." she said and looked at her children. "You two can have a break from sparring right now, I need to speak with Faba, alone."

"Ok mom." spoke Gladion before the two of them walked away.

"Faba...is it wrong to still want to follow my goals, even after what's it's done to my children?"

"Well that depends, what will you do if we manage to harness the power of the Ultra Beasts?"

"Part of me doesn't even remember anymore."

"Well if you can't recall, perhaps it would be better to try and focus your attention on what you have now instead of chasing a fruitless dream. Of course that would mean years and million of dollars have been wasted."

"That's not helping." she said with a glare. "I'm aware of all the work put into this, but if I try to work towards using the power for selfish reasons, then I'm no better than a monster. I need to be a mother to my kids, there's no changing that."

"Yes, I suppose." he admitted. "I'm merely saying this so all the hard work will be put towards something of use. Who knows maybe they could help."

"How?"

"Well if they can manage to tap into the Ultra Beast's power, what if we could utilize it as some sort of new energy source? Or better yet we could send them into the Ultra wormhole, after a few years of training."

"What?" she looked at him with a glare. "Have you lost it? We have no idea what's in there, the act alone of just passing through it could be too much for them."

"Maybe, or maybe not." he rubbed his chin. "All we can see is wait over time and test it out. If you choose to train them for we can pit them against Type: Null."

"...I'll need to think it over." She said and walked out.

'Let's hope this works.' Faba thought. 'I can't have her quit now.'

Lusamine walked over and smiled at her kids. "What say we go out for a walk?"

"Huh." the children blinked.

"A nice little walk will help you two relax since you seem a little tired." she said and guided them out.

"Well it was getting warm in there." admitted Lillie as they walked around the artificial Island.

"I could still go a few more rounds." spoke Gladion.

"Hmmm… children? Do you know the stories I told you about the world The ultra Beasts come from?"

"Yeah, you told us whenever we wanted to hear a story." smiled Lillie.

"What if I told you that you might have the ability to crossover into that world?"

"If we can do that, how come Faba didn't tell us?" asked Gladion.

"Because we have yet to find away to open the door into it, an Ultra Wormhole is the only way into their world."

"And you think we can do that?" asked Lillie in wonder.

"No… but being half Ultra Beast, you may be able to find the ones that form naturally." she replied. "But it's just a guess. If you do find them you can cross over."

"Sounds boring." remarked Gladion.

"Faba wants to train you to face the dangers you might encounter." she stopped while holding onto their shoulders firmly. "But honestly, I don't want to see you go, I can't even bare the idea of you face off against…"

"Against what?"

"...Type: Null. The Ultra Beast Killer."

"What's that?" asked Gladion while his sister looked worried.

"An artificial Pokemon that we created, only three exist, but they were too powerful to control so we had to cryogenically freeze them. However Faba wants you to train with it."

"Sounds tough." smiled Gladion.

"It is, very tough."

"Sounds scary." muttered Lillie.

"I kinda wanna see it." Gladion grinned. "Bet I could take it."

"Well you'll see it in time, but not at this moment. You need to keep training and getting stronger.

Gladion sighed in impatience while Lillie did it with relief.

(Timeskip)

"Come on Lillie! Raise your legs up higher!" called Faba while the ten year old Gladion and nine year old Lillie were in the midst of their training regime.

"I'm trying!" said girl whined while running around a track as she seemed to have longer legs than in years before and her body was thinner.

"Gladion make sure you watch your strength!" Faba instructed.

Said boy was smashing targets with his arms as he ran through a field of them. His body seemed bigger with more muscle while his nose seemed to have some covering on it and extended out with his human one underneath it. He grabbed a target that looked like Faba by the head and ripped it in half.

Said man gulped while noting Gladion seemed to enjoy that more than expected.

"Heh, oops." he smirked before running over and entering a circle just as Lillie came over and panted. "Gotta be faster sis. So Faba, am I ready for Type: Null?"

"Easy Gladion, you can't just go head first into a fight with Type: Null, you just got done with training. You have the power, but you lack control."

He groaned. "Come on, how? I can control my strength just fine."

"The reason the targets have faces this time was to learn who not to attack, you just took out eleven employees, your own mother, and me."

"Um….I don't know what you mean." he said scratching his chin and looked away.

He sighed. "If you can't learn when to hold a punch back, then you're more then likely to be sloppy and lose in the battle."

"Oh come on Faba, I know I can take Type: Null."

"The last call goes on your mom, not me. If it were, you'd never be ready."

He groaned just as their mom walked into the room.

"Hello children, doing well?"

"Yes mom, we're getting better." spoke Lillie.

"Mom you gotta tell Faba to let me take on Type: Null."

She raised an eyebrow and looked over at Faba who shook his head. "Sorry Gladion, but not yet."

"What!?" he yelled while clenching his hands. "Come on! I can take it easy!"

"Faba believes otherwise and I go by his professional opinion."

"She's right, maybe we should just wait." suggested Lillie. "You might get hurt."

"Come on Lillie, you're just wanting to hold off cause you're still worried, but we can take them. He said before looking are his mother. "One round, that's all I need."

"...Oh alright, but if you lose you have to take it as a sign to wait, alright?"

"I won't lose."

(Later)

One of the Type: Nulls was thawed out and brought to the arena. It shook its head while in the arena Gladion was stretching.

He looked over at the beast and noticed it looked like a miss mash of different creatures. "That's suppose to beat an Ultra Beast? This'll be easy."

"Then start when you're ready." spoke his mother on the sides with Lillie next to her.

He shrugged and looked at the pokemon before running as his fist glowed. "Eat this!"

Type: Null narrowed its eyes before dodging as Gladion slammed his fist into the ground.

"What?" he muttered before it's head glowed silver and rammed into his gut.

"That was Iron Head!" Lillie spoke up.

"Of course, what did you expect?"

"Ooh….okay….that kinda hurt." he wheezed out before seeing it run at him before it's front legs glowed green and he got slashed across the body in the shape of an 'X'.

"X-Scissor."

Gladion groaned while shaking his head. "Alright, now I'm mad." he growled and stood up.

The pokemon growled before charging at him.

Gladion tried throwing a Dynamic punch, but the pokemon dodged with Agility. He tried again only to get the same result. "Hold still!" the boy cried out in anger.

"He's getting mad." muttered Lillie with concern.

"Then he's already lost." sighed Lusamine before the pokemon used X-Scissors again with Gladion stumbling back. "Faba, I think we've seen enough."

"Yes ma'am." he said pressing a button. The walls opened up and revealed a number of Ice types. "Aim for Type: Null and use Ice Beam!"

All of them charged the attack before firing the attack which hit the pokemon and made it stagger while stopping.

Gladion watched the pokémon subdue the Creature before seeing his mother and sister walk up.

"Gladion, what did you learn?"

"Well I learned that thing has some speed. So I need to be faster and punch harder"

"You too focused on overpowering your opponent, that's why you would have lost. You need to master control."

He groaned and sat down with his legs crossed. "You sound like Faba."

"Because we know what you're failing at." she shook her head. "And just because you lost isn't the end of the world, you should see it as a way to improve yourself and understand this will happen. The only unacceptable failure is not coming back alive from a fight. You think Type: Null is strong? The Ultra Beasts are far stronger. If it wasn't for that helmet inhibiting Type: Null's power you would be in the infirmary."

"So I gotta keep training." he huffed.

Lusamine frowned before kneeling down and hugged him. "It's alright son, all you have to do is keep working at it and you'll reach your goal in no time. I know you can."

He hugged her back and slowly relaxed. "Alright mom, I'll try." he said before Lillie came up and joined in. "Thanks."

(That night)

Lusamine was in the shower thinking to herself as she cleaned her body. She was glad to see her kids were getting stronger and adjusted fully to their bodies, but a part of her still felt sadness and blamed herself for causing this. "If I had paid more attention to them back then, they wouldn't be like this."

She turned the water off and walked out while drying herself and stared at her reflection with anger and resentfulness. "How could i have been so blind?" she put a hand to the mirror and gritted her teeth. "Because of me….it's because of me they've lost any chance of having normal lives." she looked down at the sink and looked at the Ultra ball. "And if that's the case, then I'll make sure I can truly be there to understand." she said narrowing her eyes and grabbed the ball.

Faba looked through some test tubes before jumping when he heard his door slam open. He looked back ready to yell at whoever it was who interrupted him but when quiet seeing his employer.

"Faba, I need you to do something." She said holding up the Ultra ball.

He looked at her with wide eyes, but gulped and slowly nodded. "I understand."

The next morning the children woke up ready to start the day. After breakfast they headed out to the arena for some training while seeing Faba already there with a resigned expression.

"Good morning children."

The two of them turned and went wide eyed as their mother entered the arena, but vastly different. She was floating instead of walking, her skin was now Cyan blue with white stars while her white hair seemed to hover as well.

"Mother!?'

"W...W….What happened to you?"

"I figured it was time for a change."

"But...you look like Nihilego." spoke Lillie.

"I know and it feels spectacular." she floated over to them. "I decided that because it was me who caused you two to become this way, I'd be the same to help make sure you two are safe. It will also allow me to join you to the Ultra world."

"She talked me into it." sighed Faba.

"I must say," she spoke and looked at her arm. "it feels…. Right."

"But now you can't change back." spoke Lillie.

"You let me worry about that." she waved off. "For now though, I'll train with you, think fast!" she held out her hand and fired a thunder attack.

They went wide eyed before jumping to the sides.

"Excellent." she smiled. "We'll see how your reaction time is with me launching attacks. You've done well with training dummies, but lets see how well you do when your opponent fights back."

"I ain't gonna hold back." smirked Gladion cracking his knuckles.

"Good, and I expect the same effort from you too Lillie." their mother stated as she smiled.

"But, what if you get hurt?"

"This is training, don't worry about me." she charged her hands up. "Come at me like an enemy. We will help each other grow stronger and together we will be the ones to travel to the ultra world!"

"Well...alright mom." nodded Lillie trying to put on a determined look.

"That's my girl, now then children, Come at me!" she spoke before the two ran at her.
