Chapter 85 - The Perfect Lie

*** Alison's narrative (voice-over) ***

It's often said that, no matter the truth, people see what they want to see... people believe, what they want to believe...

(In the Emison's house)

Blair.- "So, how are you doing?"

Alison sarcastically says. - "Me? Never better…"

Blair sighs. - "Ali, come on, I'm being serious here, we are worried about you, you have been radio silence with everyone since…"

The young doctor can't say it, she can't even believe what is happening in the DiLaurentis-Fields home. What was a home filled with joy, happiness; now, it's a place full of silence, with a feeling of abandon, of loneliness… and, Alison hates it, she hates how easily Emily walked away from her, from their family, from their kids… God, the kids! How she was supposed to tell her kids that their mermaid left them, and, according to the last text she got from Emily, the brunette has no intention of coming back… like never…

The blonde stares at her phone, at the last text she got from Emily…

Emily text: 'Ali, I love Maya, and I'm running away with her. I'm not coming back. Please forgive me…'

A big wave of pain and anger gets over the dear blonde...

Blair looks at the message and says. - "This is so unlike Emily, she…"

Alison angrily says.- "She's dead to me…"

The words got out of her mouth, harsh, full of pain and anger…

Blair. - "Ali… you don't mean it…"

Alison snaps angrily. - "Oh, I mean it! She's dead to me and my kids!"

Blair pleads.- "Ali, please…"

Alison.-"No, B! Don't you dare to defend her!"

Blair wants to say something to help, words of comfort, but, she gets nothing…

Alison recalled the last time she saw Emily, tears fall from her beautiful blue eyes when she says. - "I told her to stay. I told her that we were done if she crossed that door..."

Blair. - "Ali..."

The blonde wants to cry again, but, no, she's Alison DiLaurentis, she will not show weakness in a moment like this; so, Alison clears her tears, decided more than ever, that she will no longer shed a tear for the brunette runaway...

Alison. - "She crossed that door! She walked away! She made a choice! She's choosing that whore, Maya, so, she and that whore can fuck their brains out!" (She walks away from her friend, and mumbles with a mix of pain and anger in her voice) "I don't care…" (A tear try to appear, but, she quickly clears it and says) "I don't care at all about Emily…"

Blair tries to follow her, but, Alison gets inside her bedroom, the blonde angrily slams the door when she yells...

Alison. - "She's dead to me! Emily is dead to me!"

It breaks Blair's heart to see her friend like this, and, she's not the only one who has a difficult time with this image of Alison, heartbroken…

(At the basement of an old house)

Emily looks at the screens she has in front of her, tears fall from her eyes, and, all she's able to mumble with sadness is...

Emily. - "Oh, Ali..."

Everybody looks like they are suffering a lot, everybody... except of...

Sydney smiles. - "Did you hear her, Emily? You are dead to her… dead!" (big smile) "She doesn't want to know anything about you…" (she stops looking at the screen and turns her eyes towards the captive brunette and says) "Should I send her another text from your phone, telling her how happy you're with Maya?" (devious smile) "Maybe, I could even create a fake picture of you and Maya, enjoying life together..."

With tears rolling down her tired eyes, Emily uses the little of strength she has on her, and, stretches her arms, trying to rip off her phone from Sydney's hands, but, her efforts are in vain… just like any try she has done to get out of there, for the past couple of days...

Sydney mocks. - "Ha, ha, ha! Do you really believe you can get your phone back that easily?!"

Emily. - "Give me my phone!" (she sees Sydney typing a text and says angrily) "Don't you dare to send another text, pretending to be me!"

Sydney pushes a button and says. - "Too late, I just pushed 'send'..."

The imprisoned brunette groans angrily, shaking the metal bars that are keeping her away from the world... from her family... from her dear blonde...

Emily yells while she shakes the metal bars of her cell. - "Let me out! Let me out!"

Sydney smirks. - "Hit the bars all you want, Emily. You will not get out. And, keep yelling all you want, too. The closer house, it's a more than 10 km from here..." (devious smile) "No one can hear you..."

And, the crazy girl wasn't lying, but, no matter how hard it was to accept the cruel truth, Emily keeps shaking them, even if she knows that she can't escape from this hell that easily…

Emily. - "Let me out! Let me out!" (She leans her head against the bars and says with a tired voice) "Let me out..."

While Emily is using the rest of her strengths in vain, her kidnapper starts thinking about the next phase of her plan...

Sydney. - "I wonder what I should do next…"

Emily mumbles with a tired voice. - "What about getting me out of here…?"

Sydney laughs. - "Ha! C'mon Emily, I'm crazy, not stupid…"

Emily leans her front-head against the cold bars of the cell, feeling helpless, tired. It's this really her end? It's really no hope for her? It was already a week since she is trapped in this prison that Sydney made for her, and, as the days go by, the tiny glimmer of hope she had, it's slowly extinguishing, because it looks almost impossible to get out of this basement. The brunette can't find a way to get out of this hell, so, if she can't get out… what is the point of keep breathing...?

Emily mumbles sadly. - "Why you don't just kill me…?"

And, Sydney thinks about it. The idea has hit her mind more than once, but, when, she looks at one of the cameras she put in the house, on the one that she put in the Emison's bedroom, and, they see the dear Queen, curled in bed, crying with so much pain, with so much sorrow while the blonde hugs a photo of Emily, Sydney realizes that...

Sydney. - "I can't kill you, at least not yet…"

Emily turns her eyes to the monitors, tears fall from her eyes when she sees, Alison, crying on the bed, and, the brunette mumbles sadly...

Emily. - "You're hurting her…"

Sydney looks at the monitors, she smiles, feeling happy about how smart she is because she put all those cameras in the EMISON house, and thanks to that, she has the perfect view to spy on everything that Alison does…

Emily. - "You're really not gonna kill me?"

Sydney. - "Not now..." (She slowly gets her hands over the monitor that shows Alison, curling in bed, crying while the blonde grips hard on a photo of Emily) "You're still in her heart, and, if you die and she finds out you are dead, you will always be in her heart. I need to rip you off, I need to make her hate you till she feels nothing for you…" (she turns her head towards Emily and says with a devious smile) "Just then, when you meant nothing to her, you will have my permission to die…"

Emily. - "You're sick!" (she yells angrily) "You're a monster!" (she shakes the bars with despair and screams loudly) "Please! Help! Someone help me!"

Sydney. - "I told you, you are wasting your time, there is no way someone could hear you, we are in the cabin of my family. In the middle of the forest. No one can hear you, and, no one will..."

And, after saying that, Sydney shoots a dart towards Emily's neck. The soothing effects hits the brunette immediately, and, in a question of seconds, Emily lies down on the floor, unconscious...

Sydney stares at her and smiles. - "Sweet dreams... mermaid..." (She gets angry, and, says) "No! I'm the mermaid! I'll siren Alison to love me, just the same way you did..."

*** Alison's narrative (voice-over) ***

Yes, we see what we want to see. On a town as Rosewood, it's easy to think the world is exactly as it appears. Cruel. Deceiving. Painful. But sometimes all it takes is a little hunch to open the door to the possibility of seeing something else... something hidden, between all... something we might find hard to believe, but, can we...? Can we find the truth behind a fake smile?

(In Emison's bedroom)

Alison slowly opens her eyes, she can't remember when she fell asleep, but, she's sure she fell asleep crying, since she still can feel the tears on her face. The blonde rubs her eyes, when...

Sydney smiles. - "Good morning, Ali..."

Alison jumps in bed, she freaks out and yells. - "What the hell?!"

Sydney. - "I brought you breakfast in bed..." (She puts the food in front of the blonde and, says with a big smile) "Look! I even put a smile of fruit on your pancakes..."

The blonde has no words, she just frowns, and, looks at the girl with shock. How did she get inside? Did she give her a key or something like that? Alison is doing so many mental questions, that, she gets more taken off guard when she hears...

Sydney. - "I bet you're wondering what I'm doing up here so early. Truth is, I never went to bed. Why waste precious time dreaming when waiting for you to wake is so much better?"

Alison mumbles. - "You... you've been watching me sleep?"

Sydney nods, she mumbles. - "Yeah, like every night..."

'Craps' it's what thinks Sydney after spilling out the last sentence she mumbled; she stares at Alison, waiting for some kind of reaction. Did she hear what she said at the end? Will Alison figure out what is happening? So many questions start to create Sydney in her crazy head till...

Alison looks at her pancakes and says. - "I always put Mapple Syrup on my pancakes..."

Sydney. - "Huh?!" (She wasn't waiting for that reaction...)

Alison mumbles. - "Mapple syrup... it's on the stand that's at the right in the kitchen..."

Sydney. - "Oh... right! Yeah, Of course! How could I forget to put that!" (She rushes out the bedroom, and, says) "I'll bright it to you..."

The girl leaves, and, Alison just stays there, in silence, looking at the pancakes that have a creepy smile, made with fruit...

*** Alison's narrative (voice-over) ***

We walk blindly when we are not sure of what we're searching, till we take a step back and find out we were looking at a wrong picture all along. And, if we really put attention, we might catch up the lies behind the bright smile, the smile which hides more darkness of what we could ever imagine...

Some days later...

Alison was in her office, working, typing on her laptop when someone slams the doors, rushing into her office without asking permission...

Spencer. - "What the hell, Alison?!"

Alison. - "Where are your manners, Spencer...? Why you get into my office, just like that?!"

Spencer doesn't reply, she just drops on the desk the documents she got in her firm this morning...

Alison looks at the papers, she looks at Spencer and says. - "Did I forget to fill out something...?"

Spencer snaps. - "You're filling the divorce?! What the hell, Alison?!"

No one talks to the Queen Bee in that tone without receiving a piece of QB from Alison, but, for some reason, the blonde stays cold, neutral...

Spencer. - "Ali, you can't..."

Alison cuts her off. - "I can't what?! I can't divorce Emily, even if she left me without even saying goodbye?!"

Spencer sighs. - "Ali..."

Alison. - "If you don't want to be my lawyer, it's fine for me. I'll do the paper work with someone else..."

Spencer. - "Alison, it's not that! It's just that..."

Alison stares at Spencer with a cold gaze and says. - "I want the divorce, and, if you can't help me, then..." (she points out the door and says) "There is the door..."

Spencer takes a deep breath and says. - "For the divoce, both parties have to sign it. Have you talked to Emily about it? Have you..."

Alison cuts her off. - "Have you talked with Emily?!"

The brunette shakes her head, and, the blonde looks away...

Spencer. - "We haven't told you, but..."

Alison. - "But...?"

Spencer. - "Caleb & Blair have been trying to trace her, but, nothing... it's like she was underground, or, like if she..."

Alison mumbles. - "Like she vanished from this Earth..."

Spencer nods, she stares at Alison, and, for some reason, she thinks that there's something else in Alison's mind, something that the blonde doesn't dare to share. But, before she could ask something else...

Alison cuts her off, saying very loudly. - "Sydney! Sydney!"

The assistant rushes inside the office, and, says...

Sydney. - "Yes, Ali..."

Alison looks at her laptop and says. - "Please, walk Spencer out of my office..."

Spencer. - "I'm not leaving! We're not done yet!"

Alison coldly says. - "I've nothing else to tell you..."

Spencer. - "Ali!"

The brunette refuses to leave, but, if the Queen wants her out, Sydney will do everything in her power to fulfill the requests of her dear queen. Sydney calls the guards of the building, and, the big show of getting out Spencer out of the office if the blonde, it's a spectacular show that someone is watching from her cell...

(At the basement)

Emily mumbles with tears in her eyes. - "No, no, no. Ali.. please... I..." (She cries) "Please, no... divorce... no..."

Don't look so sad, Emily. The sun will come out tomorrow. Even if you don't...

(Later at night, in Alison's office)

Sydney gets inside, looking at a bunch of papers she has on her arm when she says. - "Ali. You didn't sign the contract of..."

The assistant stops talking when she sees that the blonde is peacefully sleeping on the couch in the office. Sydney doesn't want to wake her up, but, when she stares at those perfect red lips, she can't control her desire to get a taste of those lips. She slowly approaches, she hesitates, but even then, she leans towards, and, when she's just an inch of distance from Alison, the blonde opens her eyes...

Sydney freezes, she rambles nonsense, she has no idea of what lame excuse to tell, what perfect lie she should say in a moment like this. But, before she could figure out what to say, or, what to do, Alison closes the gap between them, and, kisses her...

(At the basement)

Emily. - "What?!"

The brunette can't believe what she's watching, she can't believe it at all. She must have starved to death, and, fall in hell, because if being captive was a nightmare, seeing her beautiful wife kissing someone else, it was the worse hell that Emily could have ever imagined for her...

Emily cries and shakes her head. - "This is not happening, this can't be happening..." (She looks at the girls kissing and, she yells to the monitors) "No! NOOO!"

(In Alison's office)

Alison breaks the kiss, and, Sydney is speechless...

Sydney mumbles. - "Wow..."

Alison smirks. - "That good, huh?"

Sydney nods with a goofy smile and mumbles. - "I love you..."

Alison softly puts Sydney's hair behind her ear and says. - "I know... I've noticed it... You would do anything for me, right?"

Sydney nods. - "Anything... you've no idea..."

She even kidnapped her wife, made her believe like Emily left her, just to be with her, so, yeah, Sydney would do anything for Alison... anything...

Alison. - "You've been taking so good care of me, and..." (She smells around and says) "It's that...?"

Sydney. - "It's the same perfume that Emily use..."

Alison nods, she has no idea of what else to do or say, so, she just nods...

Sydney. - "I can be your perfect mermaid..."

Alison looks at her in the eyes, she cleans the messy lips she made of Sydney's lips and, says. - "I'm sure you could be my best half..."

Sydney smiles

Alison. - "But..."

Sydney. - "But...?"

Alison. - "But, I can't be with you, if I'm still married to Emily. That's why..."

Sydney finishes her sentence. - "You're trying to get the divorce..."

Alison nods

Sydney says with a big smile. - "You want to divorce Emily, to be with me?!"

The blonde nods, and, Sydney glows, she can't believe that all her hard work finally got her what she wanted...

Alison caresses Sydney lips with her thumb, in a seductive way, and, says. - "Take those divorce papers, and, find Emily. Make her sign them and..." (She says with a seductive voice) "And, I'll be all yours..."

To seal the pact, she pecks Sydney's lips one more time...

Breaking news: A same-sex kiss hasn't caused this much controversy since Britney and Madonna. And tonight, Sydney didn't spread her legs, but, it looks like the perfect lie she spread, it really got her the love of the Queen Bee...

*** Alison's narrative (voice over) ***

A perfect lie is an imagined reality. And for a perfect lie to really blow up, all it needs is an unexpected turn...

Sydney waits no time to drive to the cabin. She's so happy, walking on cloud 9, so distracted that she hasn't realized that she has been followed...

Alison mumbles while she drives. - "I spy with my little eye. Someone getting busted..."

What? Shocked to realize that the Queen Bee is not in love with Sydney, as she pretended to be? Looks like people can be deceiving on both sides of the row. And, no one has a better poker face than Alison DiLaurentis...
