(Authors Note: Hello dear readers and fellow writers! Sooo, I hope you all enjoyed chapter one as I certainly enjoyed writing it. I understand these chapters are rather short compared to what I'm used to writing, but I think they sum things up fairly well. Regardless, thank you so much for taking the time to read this story and I'll be sure to add more content soon.)
Chapter 2
-One Week Later-
Stepping off the train with a violin and suitcase in hand, a young woman of nineteen years gazed out among the crowd of people, hoping to spot a familiar face. She was tall and thin with a tiny waist, long legs, childbearing hips, medium-sized breasts, and fair skin. She had a heart-shaped face, sapphire blue eyes, lush lips, rosy cheeks, and long strawberry blonde hair that was tied back in a thick braid. Attire wise, she wore a lovely wine red walking dress and coat, black boots and gloves, and an elegant black lace masquerade mask over the upper left side of her face and cheek.
"Madeleine, over here!"
Upon hearing the familiar voice, a smile lined the girl's face as she spotted her cousin. "Lucille!" The two of them rushed over to one another and shared a loving hug.
"It's so good to see you again! How was your trip?"
"It was fine, though we did pass through some rain shortly after leaving Poitiers."
"Well, I'm glad you made it safely." She then turned to the man beside her and smiled, "Raoul, this is my cousin Madeleine."
With a polite shake of the hand, he welcomed the young woman, "Nice to meet you Madeleine. Lucille has told me a lot about you during this last week."
"Oh? Nothing bad I hope," she shyly replied.
"Never," her cousin answered with a smile. "By the way, did you bring anything else or is that all of your luggage," she gestured to the suitcase and violin, to which Madeleine shook her head.
"No, the rest of my belongings are being loaded off the train, but it's just a trunk with some of my books and the remainder of my clothes in it. Seeing as how I'll be staying with you and Aunt Carlotta until the summer ends, I wanted to be sure I'd have plenty of garments to wear during my visit."
"You know, you could always move here to Paris," Lucille suggested with a wink as they collected her trunk and headed towards their chariot, aka, Catherine II.
A small smile crossed the young blonde's face as a soft dusting of pink appeared along her cheeks, "You really think I'd fit in around here?"
"I don't see why not. You'd be a welcomed addition to my show and I know the patrons would adore you."
Casting her eyes to the ground, Madeleine ghosted her fingers over her mask and emitted a sigh as the three of them loaded up her belongings and took off from the station.
