(Disclaimer: I do not own A Monster In Paris; just Madeleine.)
(Authors Note: Hello again dearest readers/fellow writers! I'm so glad to be bringing you all this latest chapter and I hope you've enjoyed the story so far as I've certainly enjoyed writing it thus far. Now, as I've mentioned in the last few chapters, I'll be absent for about five months as I've been called to return to work out at sea and won't have great internet service during my off-time. However, I'll still be able to work on this story offline, so I'll be sure to upload new content as soon as I return. Until then, happy reading and stay awesome!)

Chapter 14
Thankfully, Jean didn't return to the cabaret and Madeleine was left to tend to her duties without any further disruptions. However, she had an unsettling feeling that he would appear again at some point or another, but she refused to let that thought consume her. Right now, all she cared about was helping her Aunt and Sean tend to the guests, while also offering her support to Lucille and Francœur as they headed backstage to await their first performance of the night.
As the pair soon took to the stage, a smile made its way across the young blonde's face as she listened to their amazing performance while also being mindful of where she stepped as she was currently carrying a tray of drinks over to a table consisting of five women in formal evening wear.
Upon serving said drinks, Madeleine glanced over towards the stage to see Lucille and Francœur captivate the audience with their performance: Their voices were harmonious and their choreography was flawless. She was hypnotized by the music as she felt herself swaying to the beat of their tune while making her way across the room and over to the bar to gather drinks for another table. While her cousin had a lovely voice, she was more focused on her partner's. His harmonics sent a delightful shiver down her spine as she glanced towards the stage and smiled as her eyes met his for a moment before he focused back on Lucille.
Did she wish she was also on stage with him? Of course. But Madeleine enjoyed watching from the sidelines as well. Besides, she still had drinks to serve. Accepting the tray of gin, whiskey, scotch, and bourbon, the young blonde made her way to the destined group of patrons who were centrally located near the stage, which meant she'd have to make her way down the stairs. With a sigh, she slowly and skillfully made her way down to the table and served the gentlemen their beverages before glancing back up at the stage to see her dear Francœur and Lucille take a bow as their performance came to an end.
With a roaring applause from the audience, Madeleine joined them in congratulating the pair on their outstanding talents before she was obligated to tend to another group. As much as she wanted to head backstage and personally congratulate them, L'Oiseau Rare was completely packed with patrons and it would be unfair to leave Sean and Carlotta alone to deal with them without her help.
With a sigh, she returned to her task at hand, making her way through the crowd with a radiant smile lining her face and a confident stride in her step.
