(Disclaimer: I do not own A Monster in Paris; just Madeleine and any other OC's I've added.)
(Authors Note: Hello my dear readers and fellow writers! I am so glad to be bringing you this latest chapter. First of all, I am so, so sorry that it took me this long to update this story, but I had been working out at sea for five months and upon my return, I had a series of events happen that occupied the majority of my time. But that aside, I am happy to be presenting this latest chapter to all of you and until next time, remember to leave a comment (if desired. No hate though) and keep being amazingly awesome!)

Chapter 15
Later that night, after the cabaret closed and everyone headed off to bed, Lucille awoke to a sudden scream as Madeleine began thrashing about in her sleep:
"Madeleine?! Madeleine, wake up," she gently shook her cousin, as a familiar figure suddenly appeared in the doorway:
Francœur emitted a series of worried clicks and chirps as he rushed over to the bed where his Rose lay crying in pain.
Upon opening her eyes and seeing the giant flea, Madeleine emitted a soft whimper and began to tremble, to which Carlotta suddenly entered the room with a panicked expression lining her face: "What's going on?! Maddie, are you hurt?"
"THE FLAMES! IT BURNS!" She suddenly began tearing at her nightgown, trying to pry it off her scarred skin.
"Madeleine, calm down! You're not on fire," Lucille reassured as Francœur gently wrapped his arms around the young woman as she continued to cry in pain. "Auntie, call the doctor while I draw her a tepid bath."
"Right," she nodded before rushing out of the room while Lucille and Francœur led Madeleine into the washroom.
A cry of agonizing pain escaped the blonde's mouth as sweat rolled down her neck and back. Hearing his Rose wail in such pain brought tears of grief to the giant flea as he felt helpless on what to do. He tried to sooth her by stroking her hair and humming to her, while Lucille ran the bath water.
Hearing his comforting melody, Madeleine's crying softened as she breathed in his comforting scent while trying to ignore the searing pain that plagued her scarred body. As she did this, she soon felt her limbs go lax as she collapsed from exhaustion.
Cradling her to his chest, Francœur continued to hum and stroke her hair until Lucille approached with a sigh:
"I need to undress her and help her into the bath, but you're welcome to stay so long as you turn away while she's indecent."
He gave her an understanding nod before gently leading Madeleine over to a nearby chair and setting her down before turning his back to the pair, to which Lucille then helped her cousin remove her night clothes and supported her as she helped her into the tub.
