Announcement:
I was originally going to have Morgana go with someone, but I figured a temporary solo mission with no one is in order (hinted the word, temporary), as the next one will be interesting and I will leave it at that to you all. And also another chapter as well for a special event (as I have a feeling this story might have a few more new chapters as well).
I hope you solved all the Movies I placed clues on except this chapter or chapters being "The Great Mouse Detective", but most being canon with others being my way, as usual. I will, however, add more PG Movies mixed with those solved during Hogwarts (as a suggestion from Rowana, and a few others) to maybe PG-13 Movies and more PG.
So yes, Hogwarts will be very interesting indeed for Morgana and others. And yes, the other characters and even OC I wrote in design, will have their shot in further adventures (so don't worry about that).
I will also add some movies not listed in the hinted puzzles I left in the previous announcement as well as such, so don't worry again about that.
Besides that, here is some important information:
Pairings Currently for Morgana: Cassie, Chipana, Death, Elsa, Shania, Bowsette, Koneko Toujou, (Revealed in these few chapters), (In these few chapters and was highly DM'ed to me by a lot of people and figured, why not), ?, ?, ?
Sibling Bonds for Morgana: Sorceress, Crystal, Ceraza, Trinaza, and Kalcea (forgot to add her due to Artemis; RIP… Or is it, for both her and Mirage?).
Pairings currently for Ceraza: ?/6 (Same as Morgana for suggestions)
Trinaza: 3/6; Serina, Onita, Crumbelina, ?, ?, ? (Same as Ceraza for suggestions, they will get some storytime in future chapters)
Now I hope you guys like it, and merely enjoy it! :)
If it is long, I am going to split it into chapters.
Also letting you know that most locations are based on the movie itself, so at times, I won't be mentioning most of them. This also, sadly, includes the Current Book (aka, the Movie Characters) Character's Appearance as I don't know fashion at times, and didn't want to disturb others to aid me on that (when I wrote this).
Also as a Side Note, I plan to continue to work on some upcoming chapters to my other stories, besides this Fic; even a rework of a select few. So look forward to seeing more stories getting updated soon, and to lastly mention: I plan to also include a surprise chapter as well after and hints of what the next arc will come.
And with this out of the way, enjoy.
Morgana's Room, within The Castle, July 29th of 1588 (1993) a few weeks later:
Morgana gently sighed with her being alone as she felt that her time with her loved ones and family was strained, due to her recent shift in appearance.
Sure she managed to do things and hang out with all her girls and even made Belle's upcoming twin babies a blanket with the aid of Chipana and Cassie, but she still slightly felt The Strain at times and was rather perplexed by Loki/Uncle Frost stating that it was slowly healing.
The Strain is a setback for those that are soulmates, and would at times, make the one who is suffering want to be secluded, alone, or wanting to harm themselves to join those within the afterlife. It is even dire as well if it was severe enough to keep eyes on the said person as well, as they would be susceptible to anything that may further it.
Thankfully, it seemed like Morgana was not showing signs at all of this, as there are obvious signs of The Strain, and permanent effects as well that are shown now and then. It was as if some unknown ability was given to her to lessen it, but only if they knew what Death had done, then Morgana would be wondering as to why she did what she did.
Speaking of her, Death did visit now and then, along with giving some treats or objects she gathered on her "Deathly Routine" for Morgana, and reluctantly, the others. She was still cryptic on a few of the same questions Morgana had about both Artemis and Mirage, and even refused to tell her and merely pointed a finger to her lips and stated, it's a secret.
Anna did visit Elsa for a week at best before she had to return to Arendelle, and to their fascinated horror, both children of flames (from previous adventures) met and bonded easily, and may have aided Discord in an overdone prank on a village far from the Castle of overcooking their raw meat products within moments.
Erina and her little brother were recently sent to Agrabah for something important that Jasmine discovered, and Freddie was looking into and at times, training her and Ami on shadow abilities whenever they got the chance, and was currently, like most all the other girls, with Ophis at her Castle, and she was offered to stay there as well but refused yet stated she wouldn't mind staying there now and then, alongside Lucifer as well, for maybe some time away due to knowing her soon-to-be-born nieces or whatever from Belle, would be born soon.
Let's say that meeting the two entities for the first time together made Belle faint and Adam also cower by beastial instinct, before getting along with each other by agreeing to terms that went over Morgana's head.
The girls were reluctant on leaving Morgana to herself due to her minor increase of nightmares, but she half-assured them that she would be ok and even Sarah appeared and told them that if they were ending up part of her next set of adventures, she would randomly pick (to the mirth of both Discord and Chaos) as to who would go with. Especially since Sunset and Adagio's Group decided to return to Beast's Castle / The Castle and back to the large mansion that was given to them that was, oddly enough, another house next door and across the street to Dani and her family, and had a secret door that would link to said home and Beast's Castle with ease by the one man appearing once again, and doing so.
Shania was still with Bowsette and working hard at the workshop they co-owned, back in Morgana's world as it turned out, to Bowsette's inner horror and eventual sadness, Nintendo recalled her design, and her elder brother, Bowser, still allowed her to enter now and then (alongside her other Mario Franchised Friends), but she could never be part of the game again at all. So both females visited now and then, and Shania eventually found all her Totems to regain her previous forms, and to her shock, gemstones of her allies she made long ago, and by Death's own words, was a secretive bargain they did to be with her and Morgana, aka, she reincarnated and the previous soulmate: Johnny Garland, from a sealed agreement they almost forgot about.
Yes, folks, as it turned out that Morgana was also a very rare case of being reincarnated several times over with one being as mentioned, from Ophis and Lucifer telling them one day, eventually, and with Loki saying nothing except that he already figured it out… Though most memories of her past life won't merge until she was at least eleven or so, as her True Magical Core would have situated itself to be able to handle that, and prevent major migraines from the after-effects of that as well, she has shown signs of at least having some as either basic dreams or nightmares.
To mention the others the child was friends or allies with, everyone, Morgana was being withheld some information about some news from the few friends she made in the arcade itself, and those from her previous adventures with Belle and the others within Beast's Castle, as they were planning on coming to her special day to show her, alongside everyone else… But she didn't know that.
Morgana's Familiers, to mention, went to said castle Ophis has as the place, due to finding out it would be more efficient there than with the child herself, as they were all given the ability to appear when called.
Let's say once again, everyone, that Belle and the others for the 1500's period were rather stunned by nearly all of the things, and still enjoyed it, and leave it at that.
Ceraza went somewhere with her aunt, otherwise, they would have been here for the last few days, due to her being cryptic yet stating it was a right of passage, or whatever it was, as she too, to their shock, laid an egg that vaporized for the first time to realize as well, that Maleficent (as she sneezed from being mentioned), and both aunt and daughter were related to what Morgana was, but distant cousin versions.
Turns out that Pele (Isle Goddess' Little Sister from previous adventures), and was visiting with mentioning her, was truly a doppelgänger representation to Sunset via Bwonsamdi's own words admitting that when the girl arrived, and when he was there with Zone-Tan and was currently with Sunset and the others as they were back, in terms to understand to everyone once again, True Avalon, and we're doing some shopping.
Speaking of her, Zone-Tan stopped by now and then, and even gifting Morgana a few treasured trinkets she managed to gather or find, by strange means, and told her she was looking for a place to settle once she got enough moolah to do so, for both her and her familier, Lenny.
And mentioning the others Morgana was involved with once again, Prince Adam and Princess Belle hosting now and then and with some of them being given rooms as a vacation or break when they needed it, from their time in their own synced books, via Sarah telling them once Morgana finished an adventure, that time would sync to the current, like Belle's Time is with Morgana's True Period.
In fact, in case things go sour, the unusual man: Aeroza, modified the castle to if or when it occurred by severe invasion or dire outcome, the entirety of the castle itself would be fully placed, by permanent and enchanted means, into their home within Salem they bought not too far within the same neighborhood as Dani and the others.
To mention Demi (as I am sure you all are very curious), she was changed by sheer accident into a Direwolf Monster Girl from a potions mishap that was permanent, and resembles closely of sorts to Bonnie from Pokémon, partially, yet her hair and eyes were still the same colors as her wolf self, and with her eyes being widely-squared with a button nose and cute oval face along with cute fangs sticking out from her delicate lips, and dainty yet medium-pointed ears with two gifted pink pearl earrings on each lobe.
To also mention, again, Demi also wore an outfit that was tomboyish with it being a grey sleeveless hoodie with a plain sleeveless t-shirt under it along with a soft long-sleeved mesh shirt, dark-grey Capri shorts with blue lightning bolts on the hem alongside a black belt with a silver star belt buckle, knee-length mesh stockings with dull-gray combat sandals.
Anyways, as mentioned, she was made into a rare Direwolf Monster Girl and considered Morgana, to everyone's shock, her mother mainly despite the age difference. And it was mainly guessed that it was due to her hardly knowing her original mother and imprinted on Morgana, mostly, and also changing her bond into as mentioned, magically.
So all in all, everyone, the current residents are Morgana, Belle, Adam, and the rest of the castle servants, both Cassie and her brother, the recently returned Trinaza and Demi, and both Rainbooms and The Sirens.
Anyways, let's get back to our issue at hand, shall we?
Morgana was thinking about why she felt the emotional vibrations of her outfit at times, and Xal'atath refused to tell her why or even Vanessa as well. Even Ami refused alongside Rick The Book (Richard/Rick).
Speaking of the outfit, to briefly mentioned it, Morgana cannot remove it at all anymore as when it was time to bath or something else similar, it shrank into a gemstone that was around and refused to be removed from her belly button and then hastily covers her like a symbiote does from Spider-Man to cover the entire body, mostly her entire body frame except for her head (1).
The outfit also was able to shift to the other clothing Morgana wore as well, but at the moment, we need to get back on track, again.
Morgana was gently rubbing her outfit's left arm to strangely hear a purring come from her collar to make a small smile before stopping and looking at the door as it was knocked.
"Come in," Morgana states quietly as it was Belle, and she looked like she was ten or so months pregnant, then the previous actual months in truth with seeing she was being escorted by a random maid and sat next to her on her bed.
"You're still troubled?" Belle asked her sister softly and saw Morgana turn her head away from her sister to make Belle sigh, and then told her with a gentle rub on her little sister's back between her wings and was only half-amused by her sister unknowingly kicking her left leg in a few slight spasmodic kicks as Morgana eventually turned to her with eyes holding resentment of herself, "You shouldn't blame yourself for everything happening to you, Mary. You fully know this. From what we were told after Loki's explanation, this was to be expected, of sorts."
Morgana nodded with a slight tint as she wasn't still used to her improved body at all Belle noticed, and didn't mind that her sister's tail twitched in agitation or that her wings extended only slightly to adjust themselves and grabbed her bedding closer to herself in small comfort without blocking Belle herself, as she was then forced to look at her elder sister with a soft yet gentle grip.
"I don't ever want you to think about yourself as you have thought about from the past, Mary, but to think of this as an opportunity for better things." Belle gently yet firmly told her to make Morgana go wide-eyed to know her elder sister was serious about this, "What you need to do is figure out what we know about your race you became from the orbs Loki is still unveiling, and perhaps learn how to use your self to your benefit. Besides those that are slowly teaching you about your instincts, you are not your problem."
Morgana held back a tear at this as this was something that she was wanting to be told by anyone as of late, but grew concerned about Belle as she winced while grabbing her swollen stomach in discomfort and seeing her look, gave her a reassured one before telling her then, "I'm alright Mary, just they were kicking rather harder than normal."
Morgana reluctantly nodded her head before she hesitated yet placed her right hand on Belle's belly to amuse her elder sister in understanding as the Young Royal Chaosarinian held herself from leaping back from feeling a kick or two.
After that, Belle was with Adam to discuss something and knew it wasn't about her becoming an Aunt anytime soon, as there was a few months left before worrying about that, as Morgana was once again within her garden regiven to her, and was using her wings, tail, and her hands to further aid her on taking care of her garden as there were some unusual plants and more recently added, as they had to make more room within The Castle for her.
An unexpected storm ruined her original garden and tore it to sunder, with only a few plants remaining, and so with the aid of those that knew her hobby, moved the garden into an inner sanctum that was discovered by Sonata and Fluttershy, accidentally, when they were in the West Wing Adam lives in.
So with the aid of magic by Yidhian, Discord, and Chaos, they made an enchanted garden-based room that was immense and was around the size of a football stadium, and was also her official second wish for Morgana, mixed, as the female genie herself twinked it to be able to be accessed by a special key that was bound to Morgana, and can be easily summoned or dismissed at any point of time to access it anywhere, as the exit is up to her, and making said room gone by said wish as well within the West Wing.
As part of her wish, this place also had a personal living quarter that could be adjusted to suit those within.
So in terms, she has eight official wishes left… And speaking of her genie, she was once again off somewhere that she explained that she would not be able to come this time, and would bring back something to make up for it, from Morgana allowing her to roam.
Anyways, the child was tending mainly to the zebra roses and star blossoms when she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder and turned to see it was Sarah.
"I see that you still love to garden," Sarah tells her after seeing some plants Morgana secretly may have obtained in her adventures within said large garden, which isn't that much but there was a lot already fully grown due to her magic, especially candy plants and others donated from the Witwak Book, and more.
Morgana, despite thinking over her elder sister's words as she got a pair of washing gardening gloves on her hands that thanks to Discord, adjusted, nodded wordlessly as she resumed finishing the zebra roses before heading over to the Caramel Candy Apple Tree to give it some special water with filtered sugar and syrup in it, "Yes. I tend to be coming to my garden now and then, and even allowing others to maybe come to see it. To me, this is one of few things I loved to do before I even met Big Sister and Papa, or the others at all."
Sarah solemnly nodded in muted agreement with hidden understanding and knew the child had a natural green thumb and was not God-blessed, thankfully, and a natural cook from recalling one meal she was invited to during the last few weeks as Morgana was Head Chef over one day (with the aid of others, of course).
"Truly remarkable to your growing collection of exotic plants, but some even a few Gods or Goddesses I know have yet to be obtained." Sarah admitted to making Morgana blink at her before seeing the Ex-Keeper of the Book Vault shake her head and then telling her in a way, that Morgana sighed over as she watched the child with her project nearby resembling, strangely, a baby version of Audrey 2 from Little Shop of Horrors, close by and gently cooing at her as she fed it pulped and finely chopped raw meat and with soon placing her gardening gloves in the nearby washing station, "But that isn't why I came this time to reminisce about your hobbies."
"It's time for another adventure?" Morgana asked her quietly to which Sarah nodded as Morgana blinked before looking down, and yelped as she was sucked into a small vortex that made her land on a couch upside down in the one-room she has gotten to know for quite some time and with Sarah landed gracefully on her feet.
Bemused by the child's look as her tail helped her up and stand, as she landed upside down, alongside her wings aiding her, Morgana saw Sarah herself wave her hands as from above the tall shelf, a book glowed before everything went as normal for the child, once again… But there are some differences.
Once the portal activated, an unusual tolling of a large bell could be heard, something familiar to the child as she only heard it a few times, and saw an image of a fast-hands moving clock, briefly, on the vortex before it was its familier self.
"As you know that your task is to oversee this adventure thoroughly, the date is somewhat older but the location is familiar to you, Mary." Sarah began with the child being perplexed as she was handed an umbrella based on her favorite colors, "You will need this as I cannot tell you what lays ahead of this vortex, this time, but you will rather be in for a small surprise to what you will venture into…" Sarah paused with Morgana sighing at knowing that the strange group would be involved by her words, of her previous adventures, again, "As far as I know, there is the involvement of the foes you faced in this one as well. So keep safe, and anything you bring forth from this world will be able to come with you. I, however, would rather have someone go with you… But this is one of the tests as well set out, from what I was told beforehand."
Morgana blinked suspiciously for a moment before asking her with her arms crossed and her tail swaying gently back and forth behind her, and her wings clutching her sides in a gentle hug of sorts, "Who told you to test me?"
"I cannot tell you, but if you pass this adventure of a test, you will be able to gain a few benefits for later use," Sarah told her in admittance and made the child sigh and nod before she left into the vortex. And some of it is Karma of being taken several times, from what I was told. She mentally added to herself after.
Sarah soon scowled as Hades materialized from a blue fiery vortex and bowed graciously to her, "So it seems I missed the Spitfire herself?"
He soon dodged a small orb of light that the room absorbed when it hit the wall by ducking and waving his finger at the Ex-Keeper, "Now, now. Is that any way to treat the one guy who saved your life once without a deal? I mean, come on," here she crossed her arms when he summoned a martini with a worm in it, and sipped it before continuing, "You needed to live to save her, right? But you ended up paying the price later on from her cursed sacrifice. No matter what, she would have ended up dead as a doornail- Hey now! Easy with aiming that spell!" Hades ducked a few times from more balls of light being sent at him.
"Stop talking about Oceana, Hades… Partially my other friend that I renamed myself after, Sarah Genovika (2), as well… The Ancient Crossed War (3) caused many things and not knowing where my comrades or friends ended up after, still pains me to this very day." Sarah told him firmly her hiding her true emotions of recalling the War, through her eyes in a flash.
Hades nearly choked on his drink, but understood what Sarah herself meant, but simply shrugged as he downed his drink and casually tossed the martini glass as it indeed shattered but vaporized into smoke after, and told her in a hidden tone to know he was mixed, "That War did suck, as it altered reality as we know it. Though it does get me to wonder about the Hidden Truth (4) of what might lay out there… Anyways, I hope Ol' Zeusy-Boy's test for the Spitfire goes well, as I have an inkling the others will test her out, as after all… Lil' Morgana is related to Darkness from Ol' Chernabog being her Birth Mother's Daddy via a deal, without recalling from his mind at times being scattered when busy. Besides that, I still have things to do and places to see. As after all…" here Sarah sighed before seeing him vanish in black and blue smoke after he finished with a smirk, "She did risk things in my domain."
Once he was gone, Sarah sighed before she hesitated, but grabbed a locket that she kept hidden on her person and she opened it and revealed several people as a hologram before closing it in moments with a single tear falling, and decided to read another finished book to herself while summoning a soft drink to sip on.
London, England, June 29th of 1897, Outside and connected to a Humanized Toyshop known as Flaversham Toys:
Connected to a known human toyshop, this shop was recently established a few months before the demise of the lovely wife of Mr. Flaversham or Hiram Flaversham and made him raise their only daughter, Olivia, by his lonesome self.
Today though was his daughter's fifth birthday, and despite hearing the horse-drawn carriages trot by and everything, and knowing it will soon rain, he celebrated the best he can give her while watching his daughter play with one of his toys, as they were a matter of fact, mice, and it was a rocking horse.
"You know, Daddy, this is my very best birthday," Olivia admits to her father that despite wanting her mother alive to see this, she understood things to amaze Hiram at times, as she recently got over her mother, Abigail Flaversham's death from a cat.
"Ahh... But I haven't given you your present yet." Hiram tells his daughter nearly forgetting as this perked her up instantly as she loved all the toys her father makes, and asked in an excited tone with a sparkle in her eyes, "What is it? What is it?"
"Now, now. Close your eyes." Hiram tells Olivia as she did while he moves to a small cupboard before noticing Olivia trying to sneak a peek between her fingers. "Uh-uh-uh-uh. Auch, no. No peeking now." Olivia giggles as her father returns to the table, and a small toy in his hand that resembles a flower bud was shown as he winds the key on the side before setting it in front of her.
As a gentle tune plays, Olivia opens her eyes and sees that the bud has turned into a mouse ballerina, who dances for her. It was one of his projects he plans on selling, and he hoped it would sell well, as he decided to move to America in due course, after getting a partnership with a fellow mouse toy company that will distribute his work via his name, and give him credit. He soon smiled, however, as she gasped, and responded to him in awe, "Oh, Daddy! You made this just for me?"
Outside right at this moment, a peg-legged figure slowly approaches as he cackles evilly as his shadow soon looms over the door to the toy shop.
Inside, the mechanical doll has finished her dance, and Olivia gets down from her chair to hug her father with her admitting in a way, it warmed his heart, "You're the most wonderful father in the... In the whole world!"
The tender moment is interrupted as the locked door begins to rattle and make both Olivia and Flaversham look towards the door as the rattling becomes more intense. Hiram puts his arms around his daughter protectively as she asks in mixed curiosity and wariness, "Who is that?"
"I-I don't know! Quickly, dear, stay in here and don't come out!" Mr. Flaversham hides her in the cupboard and stands in front of it, just as Fidget, the bat, bursts in through the window making a threatening face, smashing all the nearby toys.
From inside her hiding place, Olivia cracks the door and watches in growing terror as her father and Fidget struggle to gain control over each other, the table flies towards the cupboard, shutting the door and pushing Olivia back.
"Now I gotcha, toy maker!" Fidget cackles out with Mr. Flaversham shouting out lastly to his daughter's ears, "Oh! Olivia!"
Olivia eventually managed to push against the door and move the table as she creaked the door open and stepped out. It was silent, the shop was dark as furniture was scattered and empty paint buckets were spilling out.
Olivia goes to the window, calling out to her father as thunder sounded in the sky to know it was going to storm soon, "Daddy, where are you? Daddy… Where are you?! Daddy! DADDY!" As Olivia's yelling echoed in the night, she was fearful of what occurred and soon began to cry and hug herself after realizing he was gone now as well.
Olivia then decided to try and be brave before being hesitant, but she soon left the area to try and find a person that she recalled that might aid her as well and even briefly pulled her cut paper article about him.
Meanwhile in Downtown London, thirty minutes later, a driven carriage that's moving through the streets, a mouse is writing briefly into his journal mixed with reading a newspaper he got earlier today.
It was the Eve of our good Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and the year Her Majesty's government came… To the very brink of disaster. She... Oh... (chuckles) I'm... I'm getting ahead of myself as I write in my journal to describe things.
The passenger inside the carriage reveals after some street lights hit under the carriage a mouse that is soon to be introduced.
My name is Dr. David Q. Dawson, most recently of the Queen's 66th Regiment.
The carriage stops, and after his human traveling companion departs, Dawson hops onto the sidewalk. He closed his journal briefly before he opened his paper again, and we see that he has marked several places available for rent.
I had just arrived in London after lengthy service in Afghanistan and was anxious to find a quiet place…
A drop of rain falls onto the paper and chuckling, Dawson folds it up and opens his umbrella.
Preferably dry... Where I could rest and find a bit of peace. Little did I know, but my life was about to change forever… From what I felt before my return to England.
As Dawson finishes writing his journal and closes it, and places it away, he walks through an alleyway to which he pauses as from inside a forgotten rain boot, he can hear someone crying.
He then walks over to the shoe and sees Olivia herself, sitting on a medicine box crying softly. "Oh! Oh my! Are you all right, my dear?"
Olivia turns to him in small fright before seeing he was kind and relaxed as Dawson removes a handkerchief from his jacket pocket, and hands it to her. "Come now, come, come. Here, dry your eyes." Olivia takes the handkerchief and blows her nose before she soon gives it back to Dawson and he puts it back in his pocket, taking a seat beside her. "Ah, yes, that's better. Now tell me, what's troubling you, my dear?"
"I... I'm lost. I-I-I'm trying to find Basil of Baker Street." Olivia sadly tells him in honesty as she hands him her small newspaper clipping.
"Now, let me see here…" Dawson puts his bifocals on from getting it from his pocket, and reads the headline to himself aloud, "'Famous detective solves baffling disappearance.' Mmm, hmmm. But where are your mother and father?" More upset by being reminded of her situation, she immediately admits in truth, "That's why I m-m-must find Basil!" She begins to sob into her scarf.
Understanding her plight, he then calmly tells her along with comfort the little girl, "There, there, there. Now, now, now. Well, I don't know any Basil…" Olivia looks at him sadly, but then Dawson gives her a warm smile as he takes off his glasses. "But I do remember where Baker Street is." Her face brightens a bit as Dawson reopens his umbrella. "Now, come with me. We'll find this Basil chap together."
As they were getting ready to leave the area and onto the street, an unexpected large gust of wind appeared before he grabbed Olivia and stood firmly in place to shield her from their utter shock, the very same vortex appeared after, and with his umbrella flying right into the vortex… For only to be perplexed at hearing a loud 'Ow', and blinked at seeing a strange winged girl gets spat out and fell on her behind with one of her wings holding Dawson's umbrella, and the portal closed right behind her.
Olivia only tilted her head while still sad, her curiosity got the better of her as Dawson was flabbergasted of sorts at actually seeing cartoonishly fictional stars floating around the girl's head before the girl, Morgana, shook it and managed to nab a star and eat it in one gulp, blinked while then rubbing her head again as the umbrella Sarah gave her, dropped on her head from a mini vortex spitting it out, glared upwards before she stilled and looked at Dawson.
He was suspicious as it seemed like she knew who he was without introducing himself, but he decided to do so in a small kind greeting as she did give him back his umbrella at that moment, "Hello dear. I am known as Dawson, and this is…" he paused before Olivia sniffed out her name to introduce herself then, "Olivia."
Morgana got up thanks to the gentleman of a mouse and realized a few things, and kept it to herself.
For starters, she was the same size she originally was, but around the size fit for a mouse. She also saw that she was fully herself, and her outfit on her seemed to have shifted to what the design was for this age period to make it easier on her. Lastly, she was, to her personal mixed feelings, in London.
"My name is Morgana Potter-Evergreen, but I truly prefer Mary." Morgana tells them kindly to make Dawson blink, and asks her as it seems despite the unusual situation he has never seen before, he wanted to make sure, "How old are you, my dear?"
Morgana blinked at that before using her left wing as it adjusted to look like she was using it as a substitute hand to ponder this as her true left hand, a finger tapped her folded arms and her tail swayed slowly back and forth and made both without seeing, surprised by what age she admitted to them both, "Six to be seven at the end of July… You can blame my race on how I look." At the end of her words though, it sounded like she was mixed on that.
"Well, seeing as you look to be lost, why not come with?" Dawson offered to make Morgana blink before smiling and, secretly, wondering what would occur with her involvement before opening her umbrella and following the two within the rainy storm and didn't see a bolt of lightning bounce off her umbrella and struck a nearby store's cabbages to make that descendent of said man, complain.
It turned out that they were rather perplexed by what her race, The Chaosarinian's that is was, but like Olivia, was interested in the small tales he told of from where he went to, from war, from other mice as folk tales for the past hour until they eventually found Baker Street.
It was obvious by Morgana seeing the sign on the building that reads Baker Street and it led up to a blinded window, and where she was the only one to recognize that it was the very Sherlock Holmes playing his violin.
Morgana blinked as she, Olivia, and Dawson arrived at 221 1/2 Baker Street, and saw it was the very same location she somewhat recalls as Dawson knocks, and recalling Mrs. Judson, the housekeeper, opened the door, and her arms were full of books, blankets, and pillows, as well as a teacup and medieval mace.
Dawson removes his hat courteously and asks her gently, "Good evening, Madam. Is this the residence of Basil of Baker Street?"
"I'm afraid it is. He's not here at the moment, but you're welcome to come in and wait." She tells him in replying kindness as Morgana blinked yet reluctantly followed her new friend, Olivia, as she was soon sitting down in a chair like she was, "Oh, I-I don't want to impose. It's just… The girl-" He gestures towards his side, but Olivia isn't there and neither is Morgana.
Dawson and Mrs. Judson soon look inside, where Olivia is already seated by the fireplace examining a magnifying glass with interest, and Morgana grabs a random book based on a small man fighting a large drake with a glowing blue sword, in a treasure trove (5).
Mrs. Judson thrusts her load into Dawson's arms and nearly topples him over as she rushes to Olivia's side she was worse in wear than Morgana, as Dawson came in at that point and tried and successfully succeeded in closing the door. "Oh my! You poor dear! You must be chilled to the bone!" She takes off Olivia's hat and wrings it dry, then removes the girl's scarf. "Oh, but I know just the thing. Let me fetch you and the other girl a pot of tea and some of my fresh cheese crumpets." Mrs. Judson then rushes to the kitchen and shuts the door.
Like Olivia, both children soon look around the room and are fascinated by what they see. A small propeller is operating below, and attached to that are several cigarettes and a pipe, all of which are puffing. On another table, four different pairs of shoes are being turned in a circular motion, first being brushed with black paint, and then set a print on a stack of paper. There was even an alchemist set already at work, and more as Morgana eyed the stack of unshelved books in dismay, and amusing Xal'atath, Vanessa, Ami, and even Rick, within her at that.
Dawson, after gently placing things down, is now hanging up his coat, but a voice coming from the front door distracts him. "Ah-ha! The villains slipped this time! I shall have him!"
The door bursts open to reveal a large mouse dressed in Chinese robes. The male mouse smiles triumphantly with a gun in his hand as lightning strikes.
Dawson is petrified as the mouse bursts inside, rushing towards one of the many tables, and even startling Morgana with Olivia only being perplexed by this stranger's presence in a detective's home, "Out of my way! Out of my way!"
"I say, who-" Dawson's question is cut short as the mouse's hat is thrown directly on his head and he soon takes it off and addresses the large once more, "Who are you?"
"What?" The three blinked at seeing that he spoke differently with Morgana soon recalling who he was, as the male mouse paused and turned to Dawson. "Oh?" He reaches up and pulls off what turns out to be a rubber mask to reveal the one and only, "Basil of Baker Street, my good fellow." His answer was formal though.
Basil smiles at Dawson's confused stare as he soon pulls at a tab on his robe, which lets air escape to reveal his slender form, surprising Dawson even more.
Olivia, on the other hand, is relieved to see him and approaches eagerly, as Basil eyed Morgana briefly in hidden shock at seeing her kind here, before resuming his main goal at hand, not known to the Young Chaosarinian herself, "Mr. Basil! I need your help, and I-" Basil, clearly not listening to her as puts on his house robe, tosses a dart he picked up over his shoulder with his eyes closed, scoring a direct bullseye on the dartboard. "All in good time."
More desperately, she tries to talk to him still, "But-But you don't understand. I'm in terrible trouble." Basil, however, Ignores Olivia, "If you'll excuse me." Basil walks by, and Olivia sighs and doesn't see Morgana even looking appalled like Dawson was at the detective dismissing her so easily.
Impatiently, Dawson even tried to get Basil's attention, "Here, now. Now see here!" He shakes a finger at Basil, who once more rushes right by the two of them as Dawson pauses momentarily, but soon regains his wind. "This young lady requires assistance. I think you ought to-" Basil interrupts him by handing him the gun he came with. "Will you hold this, please, Doctor?"
Dawson accepts gracefully… "Of course." But he accepts the gun with his eyes closed and doesn't realize at first what he's holding and points the gun at his head. He then opens his eyes, and then nervously holds it out at arm's length until Basil retrieves it, blinking, before asking him then in being surprised, "Ah, wait just a moment. How did you know I was a doctor?"
Basil picks up an ordinary bullet and places it in the gun, all the meanwhile answering Dawson without interruption. "A surgeon, to be exact. Just returned from military duty in Afghanistan. Am I right?"
"Why…" Dawson briefly stopped to let out a gentle chuckle before resuming, "Oh, yes. Major David Q. Dawson. But how could you possibly-" "Quite simple." Basil stops him as he holds up Dawson's arm to reveal a stitch mark on his jacket. "You've sewn your torn cuff together with the Lembert stitch, which of course, only a surgeon uses." As he continues speaking, he gathers several pillows. "And the thread is a unique form of catgut distinguished by its…" Here he whispered to Olivia to only befuddle her and make Morgana tilt her head, "Peculiar pungency…" as he was getting stuff, he finished his words, "Found only in the Afghan provinces."
One by one, Basil tosses the three pillows he gathered at Dawson, who holds them against his body, his face mostly covered as he muffled out the word, amazing, to the detective, as Basil simply told him, "Actually it's… Elementary, my dear Dawson."
Basil spins the revolver and aims it at the pillows. Dawson looks around in terror as to what he plans to do and throws the pillows onto an armchair. As Basil calmly readjusts his aim, Dawson jumps behind the opposite chair, seizing Olivia's arm and bringing her behind it and Morgana hides behind her chair as the gun fires, and pillow feathers fly as they cautiously peek out.
Mrs. Judson rushes back out at the stentorian, panicking, "What in heaven's name?!" She soon discovers her pillows are nothing but feathers and says in distraught, "Oh! Oh! My…" She spits out several feathers. "My good pillows!"
She glares in Basil's direction as he is kneeling in the chair, tossing the feathers aside. "MR. BASIL!" He pops his head above the chair as she spits out more feathers. "How many times have I told you not to-" "There, there, Mrs. Judson, it's quite alright." He soon smells the cheese crumpets from the kitchen. "Ah…" he sniffed one more time, "Mmm! I believe I smell some of those delightful cheese crumpets of yours." He gently pushes Mrs. Judson back to the kitchen. "Why don't you fetch our guests some?" The reason he stated that was he easily heard the children's stomachs lightly growl, and even saw Morgana tint to herself at that.
"But, ah, but, but…" Mrs. Judson tries to get an argument across with the detective she works for as a maid, but Basil shuts the door, silencing her.
"Now…" Basil gets on his hands and knees and searches on the floor, "I know that bullet's here somewhere." Since it was safe for the moment, Olivia has found the bullet and is holding it up for him as he takes it grudgingly, "Thank you, Miss…" "Flaversham. Olivia Flaversham." Olivia kindly answered him. He was then distracted once again to make Morgana frown, as despite liking him, she didn't like the way he treated her new friend in the beginning, "Whatever."
"Yes, but you don't understand-" Olivia tried to get out to the detective before he shushed her as Basil opened a small box he grabbed off his shelf and pulled out another bullet. Taking the one he just fired, he puts them under a microscope and compares their markings.
The first reading matches… "Yeah…" So does the second one. "Yes!" However, from the third direction, the markings go off in separate directions and he yells to startle them, "NOOOOOOOOOO! Drat!" Depressed and dejected, "Another dead end." Basil tosses the extra bullet aside and slowly walks over to his chair and softly admits to himself, "He was within my grasp." He flops into his chair and slowly reaches for the violin sitting beside him.
As Basil plays a mournful tune to make Morgana gaze at it in small interest, Dawson nudges Olivia encouragingly, and she walks towards him, determined to make him listen now that Basil is unoccupied with his detective work. "Now will you please listen to me? My daddy's gone and I'm all alone."
Basil pauses temporarily, feeling still depressed, "Young lady, this is a most inopportune time." He resumes playing, but after seeing Olivia's sad face, decides to reassure her. "Surely your mother knows where he is."
"I-I don't have a mother." Olivia sadly admits as Basil screeches the violin as he abruptly sits up. "Well… Um, well, then perhaps…" Firmly stating to her then, "See here! I simply have no time for lost fathers." He turns away as Olivia is now annoyed, and puts her hands on her hips. "I didn't lose him. He was taken by a bat."
Both Dawson and Morgana saw Basil's eyes widen and he leaned toward Olivia intently as clearly, this information is of great importance. "Did you say... Bat?!"
Olivia did a single nod and told him then, "Yes." Expectantly, he asked her then to be sure, "Did he have a crippled wing?" She didn't look sure but she admitted to him once more, "I don't know. But he had a peg leg!" This information is key to Basil, who stands up on the arms of the chair, his arms wide. "HA!"
"I say, do you know him?" Dawson asked, guessing Morgana herself was simply watching and biding her time as Basil is by now sitting on the top of the chair as if building up to a shocking revelation. "Know him? That bat, one Fidget by name, is in the employ of the very fiend who was the target of my experiment! The horror of my every waking moment. The nefarious Professor Ratigan!" Basil points his bow in the direction of the fireplace, where a picture of a well-dressed rat sits on the mantle frame. The flames in the fire burst and lightning strikes made Morgana and Olivia shiver from Painting Ratigan's sinister grin looking even more sinister and strangely, staring right at her before looking normal.
"Uh… Ratigan?" Dawson asked warily as Basil leaned over the top of the chair and delivered the next few lines from different locations, accenting Ratigan's character. "He's a genius, Dawson." He ducks down and reappears at the side. "A genius… Twisted for evil." Then he moves in front of the chair. "The Napoleon of crime!" More thunder booms to startle Morgana enough that her magic may have taken nearly all and the one book she was browsing into, into her storage by accident, ones that Basil wouldn't bother caring if they were missing or not.
"As bad as all that, eh?" Dawson tells him that he was rather perplexed and wary about this person the detective mentioned as Basil is now behind them, poking his head through a banister.
"Worse! For years, I've tried to capture him and I've come close…" He stands and holds his fist out towards the picture, "So very close. But each time he's narrowly evaded my grasp." Morgana shook her head yet her eyes not known to them, glazed over as Basil's voiceover continued as a vision of sorts passed through her eyes, taking her sight deeper and deeper through London's sewers. "Not a corner of London's safe while Ratigan's at large. There's no evil scheme he wouldn't concoct! No depravity he wouldn't commit." She saw an empty barrel on its side and an iron door with bars. "Who knows what dastardly scheme that villain may be plotting even as we speak."
Morgana's Vision, Ratigan's Hideout, at this point and time:
Inside the prison in the said hideout, a mechanical robot is pouring tea into a cup.
Mr, Flaversham is working at a podium, controlling its movements as smoke is blown into Flaversham's face he looks disheveled and wary as Ratigan is at the door, monitoring his progress.
Ratigan's voice is oily and gentlemanlike, as he chuckles evilly and tells the toy maker, "Quite an ingenious scheme, eh, Flaversham? And aren't you proud to be a part of it?"
"This whole thing… I-I-It's monstrous!" Hiram tells the rat to continue working at the controls, getting the robot to pour a spoonful of sugar into the teacup and stir.
"We will have our device ready by tomorrow evening, won't we? You know what will happen if you… Fail?" Within Ratigan's hands is a small gold bell that holds a certain threat. He rings it once, but instead of being afraid, Flaversham becomes angry and defiant. "I-I-I don't care!"
The toy maker jerks hard on the controls, making the robot dump the cup of tea on its head. Then the robot seizes the teapot and pours that onto its head as well, then hurls it towards Ratigan, who dodges just in time. The robot is flailing around and finally stops, but not before squirting oil out, which lands on Ratigan's coat.
The rat scowls at the resultant stain and wipes it off with a handkerchief. "You can do what you want with me. I won't be a part of this… This… This evil any longer!" Mr. Flaversham
Ratigan scowls with fury. Then he smiles and biting off his rage, "Mmm… Very well. If that is your decision. Oh, uh, by the way, I'm taking the liberty of having your daughter brought here." He, as he spoke, picks up Olivia's ballerina doll and winds it up that Fidget nabbed when he kidnapped Hiram.
"O-Olivia?" Mr. Flaversham states in growing horror as the rat nods and told him, as he sets the toy down and watches it dance, "Yes. Hm-hm, yes." As they watched the toy dance, he mockingly told the toy maker then, "I would spend many a sleepless night if anything unfortunate were to befall her."
"You… You wouldn't?!" Hiram states in shock and horror as he watches Ratigan picking up the toy doll again, and squeezing it until its head springs off and gazes at the broken doll in mock sorrow, then lunges threateningly at the toy maker, "FINISH IT, FLAVERSHAM!"
With a heavy heart, Mr. Flaversham does as he's told as outside, Ratigan is humming to himself as he writes a list, and even stops a brief moment and adds onto it, "Oh, I love it when I'm nasty." He looks above the doorway to another barrel, where Fidget is hanging from the faucet, sleeping. "Fidget?"
Fidget doesn't awaken, so Ratigan screams in his ear. "FIDGET!" Startled, the bat falls from his perch and rolls down the stairs at Ratigan's feet. "Bright and alert as always. Here's the list. You know what to do, and make no mistakes, and if you fail this, I will have my hidden partner send aid for you to make sure you don't screw up!"
"No, no. No mistakes, sir." The bat quickly reads the list aloud to himself, "Tools, gears, girl, unusual girl, uniforms…" Impatiently, Ratigan yells from the doorway. "NOW, Fidget!"
"I'm going, I'm going! I'm going!" Fidget quickly rushes over to a drain grate, lifts it, and disappears below.
It was at this moment a vortex appeared and it was none other than Malazar, but as a mouse, as he had a small casing within his hand and told the rat in amusement while being fully hooded, "Hired help is always as clumsy, to the feeble-minded."
"Indeed… Is that it?" Ratigan gestured to the case as he caught it with ease when Malazar threw it at him as under the cloak to fully hide his features, as his helm was being repaired to obtain the mixtures to make what the rat desires: Vengeance, if he fails, "Yes, as it is a risky concoction that I stole and made from that one group, but its effects will have your awareness unless… You are overwhelmed by how much power it uses, and that, you are truly lost."
Ratigan merely nodded his head once as he tossed a strange-looking gemstone that, within, showed thousand upon thousand electric volts the size of a small worm, within, "That was no easy feat to obtain as I suckered the poor thief that got it for me before he was arrested, to what my payment was for this lovely chance to end Basil in a Plan Z." At the end of the rat's words, lightly tapped his purchased case as Malazar gently clinched the gemstone he needed as it, secretly, was one of the objects.
"Indeed as well, and if you shall ever encounter a specific child..." Malazar gazed at the strange gem before firmly gazing at the rat, "She is not to be harmed, and to await further details of a further business, as she is the main source for my plans yet unfolded. In the case of something that will probably make things rather easy to get her as well, free of charge."
Ratigan grinned at that before bowing in a way, Malazar shook his head over in half-amusement as he left back into the awaiting vortex, and tossed a black diamond at the rat with his words echoing as it closed, "That's in case your lackey fails to get the child, as it will be efficient enough to get things done or even test her as it cannot be controlled."
Once the man is gone and headed inside the barrel and stuffing the gem, Ratigan is approaching his throne, being cheered by his men. He sits down sets the case to the right side and holds out the cigarette he brought out from his pocket. Several hands offer lit matches, and he lights them and inhales, blowing out several smoke rings.
"My friends, we are about to embark on the most odious, the most evil, the most diabolical scheme of my illustrious career. A crime to top all crimes… A crime that will live in infamy!" Ratigan began like most of his men were cheering at this bit of news, save one mouse, Bartholomew, whose attention was focused on his empty mug. He holds it upside down and watches sadly as the last drop of beer falls to the floor.
Ratigan holds up a newspaper featuring the Queen's picture on the front page. "Tomorrow evening, our beloved monarch celebrates her Diamond Jubilee, and… With the enthusiastic help of our good friend, Mr. Flaversham…" The mice chuckle," "Promises to be a night she will never forget," here he burns her picture with his cigarette. "Her last night… And my first, as Supreme Ruler of All Mousedom!"
Ratigan jumps, messing up his hair and collar and as his men cheer for him, he calmly pins his collar back and smoothes his hair, then saunters down the red carpet as a random spotlight shines on him and even an evil tune plays.
One of his men hands him his top hat, which he rolls down his arms before putting it on. He gives an evil laugh and then begins to sing.
Ratigan: From the brain that brought you the Big Ben Caper! The head that made headlines in every newspaper! And wondrous things like the Tower Bridge Job. That cunning display that made Londoner's sob."
Ratigan soon twirls his cane around a rope and yanks on it, causing the wine to pour out onto a fountain, after pointing with his cane to his past exploits.
Bartholomew's tail is wagging at the chance for more liquor, and he tosses his empty glass over his shoulder, and rushes over to the fountain, drinking from one of the spouts.
Ratigan: "Now comes the real tour de force! Tricky and wicked, of course. My earlier crimes were fine for their times But now that I'm at it again."
Here Ratigan kicks Bartholomew into the fountain.
Ratigan: "An even grimmer plot has been simmering in my great criminal brain!"
Thugs (Together): "Even meaner? You mean it? Worse than the widows and orphans you drowned?"
Bartholomew drunkenly climbs out as the rest of the thugs lift Ratigan into their arms, spinning him around.
Thugs (Together): "You're the best of the worst around! Oh, Ratigan~! Oh, Ratigan~! The rest fall behind~! To Ratigan~! To Ratigan~! The world's greatest criminal mind!"
His men pull back as Ratigan is seated at a harp. The lighting becomes blue as he plays and admits to them, "Thank you, Thank you. But it hasn't all been champagne and caviar. I've had my share of adversity, thanks to that miserable second-rate detective, Basil of Baker Street." He directs his gaze to a small mouse toy dressed in a detective suit, needles poking at it.
The Thugs boo heavily as their boss continued to tell them, and even mock crying as he spoke, "For years, that insufferable pipsqueak has interfered with my plans. I haven't had a moment's peace of mind."
"Aww!" All the thug's state while Bartholomew sniffles and begins to cry, and the lighting turns red as the illusion is shattered. "But, all that's in the past! This time, nothing, not even Basil, can stand in my way! All will bow before me! And if that fails, I hope he is prepared to deal with my truly final gambit!" His thug's bow as the lighting becomes normal again.
Thugs (Together): "Oh, Ratigan~! Oh, Ratigan~! You're tops and that's that! To Ratigan~! To Ratigan~!"
Bartholomew drunkenly finishes the verse and causes Ratigan to spit his wine in shock and lets his glass break. His thugs gasp in terror as Ratigan spins, towering over Bartholomew.
Bartholomew: "To Ratigan~, the world's greatest rat! (hiccups)."
"What was THAT?!" Ratigan called out the mouse as, innocently, Bartholomew hiccups again, "What did you call me?"
A random thug tries to soothe his boss, "Oh, oh, he didn't mean it, Professor." Another, known as Bill the Lizard, agreed quickly, "I-It was just a slip of the tongue." Ratigan ignores this and lifts Bartholomew by his sweater and shouts in his face, "I AM NOT A RAT!"
A cousin to the first random thug tells Ratigan then in hasty agreement, "'Course you're not. You're a mouse!" And the first thug responded, "Yeah, that's right. Right! A mouse." And Bill the Lizard hastily nodded while catching his hat with his tail, and placing it back on his head, "Yeah, a big mouse!"
"SILENCE!" Ratigan shouts at his minions as he throws Bartholomew outside and the mouse rolls and shakes his head as he sits up.
"Oh, my dear Bartholomew… I'm afraid that you've gone and upset me." Ratigan dramatically began to say to the drunk mouse, "You know what happens when someone upsets me…" he then pulls out the one bell from before from his vest pocket. He rings it, and his men gasp in terror as they look to the alleyway, where a shadow is approaching.
It was an enormously fat cat, aka, Felicia, and she was approaching the oblivious Bartholomew.
Bartholomew: "Oh, Ratigan~ Oh, Ratigan~! You're the tops and that's that. (hic) Oh, dear. To Ratigan~ To Ratigan~."
The cat has picked up Bartholomew and all we see is the shadow of the mouse hovering over the cat's open jaws. The Thugs are cowering in the doorway as Ratigan himself is enjoying a cigarette.
Bartholomew: "To Ratigan~… The world's greatest~..."
A gulping noise is heard along with the cat's content meow.
Two of the Thugs out of many knew the newest victim to Felicia as the thugs removed their hats and the third wiped a tear from his eye.
Ratigan, however, is cooing over his cat, wiping her mouth with his handkerchief. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Oh, Felicia, my precious, my baby," hugging Felicia fatherly, as he did find her as a kitten from being abandoned by an abusive human, "Did Daddy's little honey bun enjoy her tasty treat?" Felicia burps in his face.
Ratigan looks a little dismayed, but he recovers and struts back towards his terrified men. "I trust there will be no further interruptions…" He clears his throat and wraps his arms around his men. "And now, as you were singing?" Singing is the last thing they have on their minds as they huddle close together. But as Ratigan pulls out the bell again, they get their inspiration back.
Thugs (Together): "Even louder! We'll shout it! No one can doubt what we know you can do."
Several of his thugs are now rushing towards him, handing him a robe, a crown, and a diamond topped scepter.
Thugs (Together): "You're more evil than even you! Oh, Ratigan~! Oh, Ratigan~! You're one of a kind~! To Ratigan~! To Ratigan~!"
The Thugs begin using Ratigan's many jewels to form a pyramid as the mouse on the bottom can't keep his balance on the pearl, and they all tumble. Above, others have been swinging from chandeliers, and one mouse begins to fall.
Ratigan holds out his robe to catch him, but at the last moment, pulls back, letting the mouse hit the floor.
The Thugs dramatically sing the final line of the song.
Thugs (Together): "The world's~ greatest~ criminal~ mind~!"
As the song ends, they offer one last toast, while Ratigan finishes the rest of his wine. He smirks to himself.
Back to Basil's Residence:
An unexpected flash of lightning made Morgana blink before hearing Olivia telling Basil her story, who has taken the case, and is enjoying a pipe, several minutes later.
"This case is most intriguing with its multiplicity of elements… It's many twists and turns." He told himself before he veered to Olivia mainly as he did eyeball Morgana since she rubbed her eyes while staring at the painting of Ratigan, and was confused, "Now, you're certain you've told me everything? The slightest detail may be important."
"It's just as I said. And then my father was gone." Olivia assured him in truth as Basil looked to be thinking, "What do you make of it?" Dawson asked the detective then.
Basil starts to pace as Olivia follows him, and states what he was speculating, "Hmm. Ratigan's up to something. A crime of the most sinister nature no doubt. The question is… What would he want with a toy maker?" Olivia eventually stayed by the window to let Basil think.
Fidget pops down from above as lightning strikes, Olivia very frightened and startled even Morgana as she screamed, alerting Basil and Dawson as the detective hurriedly told the doctor as Fidget fell comically, "Quickly Dawson, we've not a moment to lose!"
"Uh, uh I'm right behind you, Basil," Dawson states as he followed Basil outside in a rush, but Fidget is already gone. Basil looks around and kneels to look at the sidewalk, where Fidget has left behind his muddy footprints. "No sign of the blackguard anywhere."
"Not quite, Dawson. He left some rather unusual footprints. They belong to the same fiend who abducted the girl's father- Ratigan's peg-legged lackey." Basil tells him as he inspected the footprints to add to this pile of evidence, Dawson discovers Fidget dropped his hat.
"Uh… Basil?" Dawson inquired unsurely at indicating the hat, which delighted the detective before snatching up the hat, "Ah-ha! Excellent work, old man. Ha, ha, ha!"
Standing in the doorway are Morgana gently rubbing Olivia's back in support of sorts, and Mrs. Judson, who is comforting the young girls and ignored the fireball sneeze that baffled the two male mice as to where it came from, bounced and made Fidget from his fleeing pace to soon complain, after putting out his pants to leave a hole and luckily came with a spare pair of pants. "Now… There's nothing to be afraid of, my dear children."
As an excited Basil rushes by, Mrs. Jusdon pulls both Morgana and Olivia back, glaring at Basil for his insensitivity as Dawson enters behind him.
"The scoundrel's quite gone," Dawson informs Olvia to which she looked relieved and eyed warily at Morgana as she sniffled before indicating she was fine to the younger mouse girl before they veered around to Basil as he threw off his robe. "Ha-ha! But not for long, Miss Flamhammer."
Exasperated, Olivia corrected him then, "Flaversham!" Basil has, from what Morgana believed was speedy in slight movements to get around, changed into a brown jacket for his detective work. "Whatever. Now, we simply pursue our peg-legged friend until he leads us to the girl's father."
"Then you'll get my daddy back?" Olivia implores excitedly as she rushes over and hugs Basil tightly.
"Yes!" He pushes Olivia down and pulls his legs free from her grasp before continuing, "And quite soon if I'm not mistaken. Now, hurry along, Dawson. We must be off to… Toby's." Here he retrieves an Inverness Cape from a suit of armor and puts it on.
Unsettled, Dawson asked him as he was grabbing his things, "Toby's?" And notice that he got the doctor's interest, he simply clarified to him while in a decent mood about this case, "Oh, you must meet him. He's just the chap for this." He then adds a deerstalker cap to his attire with both Olivia and Morgana gazing at each other in wordless agreement.
Olivia wanted to go with the two male mice to find her father, and Morgana wanted to keep her new friends safe, as she felt that if she didn't go… Things wouldn't be at all the same she recollected from Xal'atath's reminder of things in mere seconds.
"You-You want me to come?" Dawson instantly asked in astonishment as Basil simply smirked at him as he adjusted his travel outfit more from inspecting a nearby closet mirror, "Ha! I should think a stouthearted army mouse as you would leap at the chance for adventure."
"Well, heh, heh. I am rather curious." Dawson admits as despite wanting to find a place to settle, he was itching for one last outing similar to this.
"Wait for me! I'm coming too!" Olivia asserted loudly from her spot as she rushed to join them, and she seized her hat and scarf, knocking over Basil's violin in the process with Morgana being amused as the detective dived down to catch it.
"What? Certainly not! This is no business for children." Basil pointedly notifies not only Olivia but then makes Morgana frown with her arms now crossed, as he referred to her as well from laying the violin back on the chair.
"Are we going to take a cab?" Olivia asks him as Basil sighs and puts his hand on his forehead from seeing Olivia put several cheese crumpets into her pocket. "Oh… My dear, I don't think you understand." Slightly annoyed, he takes her hand and makes her face him. "It will be quite dangerous-" he then accidentally sits on his violin and breaks it. He soon grunts bitterly and grabs the ruined instrument out and motioning to it, "Why you… Look at…" Basil takes a deep breath, trying to control his rage, and soon growls out to a determined Olivia, "Young lady, you are most definitely not accompanying us. And that is final!"
"Then I will make sure she goes, Mr. Basil," Morgana informs him firmly with narrowed eyes he wasn't deterred about as soon both the Young Chaosarinian and detective were peering at each other, eye-to-eye, and with both Olivia smiling at Morgana for sticking out for her, and Dawson holding the urge to either facepalm or gawk at her brash actions.
"You're not going either… Whatever you are," Basil tells Morgana firmly noticing he agitated her if her tail wiggling wasn't an indication of it, and several people would be impressed if they were there (which those inside her watching through her eyes, cheering) at making him soon back up and poked his belly and chest to astonish how much minor strength she had as her emotions got the better of her.
"You listen here. I handled myself plenty of times alone, and I can even defend myself from danger at times…" she blinked, paused, and nearly made them sweat drop then alongside Xal'atath and Vanessa doing so inside her, "Well, most of the time. But that's not why I am going. I'm going to help my new friend with her issue, and you may try and stop me… But as a daughter of two powerful entities, I am going to help the best I can." Basil was cautious from noticing Morgana's eyes glowing a mix of emerald and amber at the end of her pointed words for a moment or two to retort back to him, mixed with being perplexed by what two entities she was stating, and sighed with Morgana soon beaming at him alongside Olivia.
Upstairs in the flat of the famous Sherlock Holmes, moments later, Basil opens a small wall design, aka, his secret passage, and peeks outside.
Olivia opens it further with Morgana helping Dawson up after he tripped as, secretly, he was in awe of her tail easily picking him up to do so, and Basil glared at the young mouse girl in annoyance, resigned to having her along.
"Not a word out of you. Is that clear?" Basil orders her mainly after realizing the other child was smarter than her, and Olivia shushes him as two shadows approach with Morgana holding the urge to gap at realizing it was both the original Sherlock Holmes and Watson.
Basil quickly moves the doorway, leaving a small crack open as they stay in place and listen.
"I observe that there's a good deal of German music on the program. It is introspective, and I want to introspect." Sherlock tells his partner to which Watson simply gave him a look before responding, "But Holmes, that music is so frightfully dull."
Sherlock shrugged as they were leaving at this point, "Come along." The human detective tells the human doctor, and as the two men leave, leaving Basil, Olivia, Morgana, and Dawson free to come out into the open.
Basil begins to call out to his friend, "Toby? Toby?" As he was calling his friend, Olivia tugged on Dawson's coat and whispered in his ear with Morgana blinking at seeing something approaching their location and tripping once, and resumes, "Who is Toby?"
"Well my dear, Toby is… Well, he's uh, uh…" Olivia waits for an answer as Dawson turns to Basil, just as clueless as she is, "I say, Basil, who is this Toby chap?" Before Basil could answer, thundering footsteps approached. Towering over them is an adorable basset hound puppy, who is very happy to see Basil.
"Ahh! Here he is now!" Basil tells them all and pushes Dawson forward as Toby leans down, formally introducing the mouse and dog. "Dawson… Toby."
Dawson nervously tips his hat and pats Toby's nose. "Charmed, I'm sure." Toby wasn't too thrilled with the introduction and growls at Dawson until Basil moves forward and pushes Toby back. "Now Toby! Toby, stop that! Toby, cease! Desist! Ha!" Dawson is trembling behind the leg of a chair.
Toby was soon sniffing around the room as Morgana went after Olivia after seeing she wandered off.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Frightfully sorry, old man. Toby has the most splendid sense of smell of any hound I've trained. But he can be deucedly frisky." Basil chuckles and tells Dawson as Toby stops at a footrest, where we can see Olivia's feet from behind the fringe alongside Morgana's tail.
She cautiously pushes it aside with Morgana hiding a small gulp and having a hesitant smile on her face at the sheer size of the dog, and the mouse girl smiles at Toby, who seems to like her just fine with making Morgana soon cease her worries as he sniffed her gently and tried to not giggle.
"Hello, Toby!" Olivia states as she pats his nose and Toby sniffs her again, "Silly doggy! Would you like a crumpet?" Toby nods happily as Olivia reaches into her coat pocket. She holds it up for him and he licks it off her hand and this makes Morgana giggle at the puppy then.
Basil is ready to leave and reaches into his pocket, "Here now, Toby? Toby! To the matter at hand. I want you to-" he turns, but Toby isn't listening to him, as the dog is on his back enjoying a belly rub from both Olivia and Morgana.
Basil whistles and Toby rolls his head back to see him clearing his throat and tapping his foot.
Olivia slides off from Toby and into Dawson's arms, and Morgana slides off the side of his belly and impresses the impatient detective with her movement skills as she was rather stunned herself, at doing an acrobatic landing, perfectly.
Toby soon rolls back to his feet, facing Basil. "Good. Now Toby! Toby… I want you to find… This fiend!" Basil informed the puppy as he whipped out Fidget's hat from his person.
Toby starts to growl, and soon Basil barks and growls along with Toby to drill the dog into searching for the bad guy. "Yes, you know his type. A villain. A scoundrel! Low brow. Close-set eyes. Broken wing." Toby pauses and looks at Basil, confused at this last piece of the description, and makes Morgana hide another stifling laugh by their looks, "Oh, he's a peg-legged bat with a broken wing." Toby starts to growl again.
"Yes! Yes! That's the spirit! Got his scent?" Toby nods happily, and Basil retrieves his leash. "Good boy, good boy!" He turns to face Toby again, but he has turned around and is smiling at Olivia and Dawson.
Basil moves in front of Toby before stating, that "Miss Flamchester!" At that, Olivia and Dawson corrected the detective, "Flaversham!" Basil shrugged before continuing, "Whatever. Your father is as good as found." He hooks on Toby's leash. "Toby…" Toby strikes a 'Pointer' pose, ready to bolt after Fidget's trail. "Sic 'em!"
As Toby rushes out, he accidentally stomps on his master, and avoids Morgana as she slides to her right, and as the dazed detective manages to hold on to the leash and quickly regains his wind. "Ah-ha! Yoicks! Tally ho! Ha-ha! Ha-ha!" Morgana blinks before yelping as her wings once again act on their own and she sees Olivia and Dawson rush after the pair, trying to catch up, as they were firmly latching onto the leash as well.
A few moments later in the street, where Toby is sniffing at the ground with Olivia holding onto Basil's waist at Toby's collar, and Dawson moving forward to try and head up to the neck for a better grip, and Morgana, was on top of the puppy's head when the male pup gives a sudden howl and breaks into a run.
"The thrill of the hunt, eh, Dawson?" Basil shouts as he allows Olivia to hold him tighter after seeing her and Morgana was thrilled by the speed the puppy was running, and Dawson is desperately clinging to Toby's tail and gives a nervous chuckle at the irony of this statement. "Q-Q-Quite!"
"Oh-hoo-hoo. Our peg-legged quarry can't be far now." Basil tells them assuredly before catching Morgana off guard as she saw amusement on their faces at facepalming herself as if she forgot, "Perchance I can get your name, Miss?"
"It's Morgana Potter-Evergreen! But I go by Mary!" She shouts to get him to hear her as Toby made her wings grip harder as he made a sharp turn right before they blinked and she groaned as while Toby still ran, vortexes showed with her being puzzled by the enemy she faced before with that weird symbol, was mixed with another one she didn't recognize yet placed to memory.
The new enemy, who was at least twenty in numbers, has a small torso and thin upper arms, but very wide, three-fingered forearms and hands. Their upper body and arms are covered by a high-collared, purple coat with a strange sigil emblem on the chest and thin, white lining at their bottoms. They also sport a violet, wide-brimmed, conical hat with a thin, curled tip that resembles a stereotypical witch hat, wear a small gold belt around their waist that's over the coat, and lavender robes underneath it that hide their feet and legs. Their head is a black sphere and they have glowing yellow eyes (though the eyes are hidden underneath the hat).
The actual enemies she recalled were mainly crimson and silver colors of the newer enemy, and both held crooked wands that gave off a dark aura.
Morgana shook her head as it seemed they entered a barrier loop of sorts with Toby running constantly, as she told them with firm eyes as the enemies approached. "It's them again."
Basil held his tongue by them seeing Morgana summoning Xal'atath with the eye glaring at the enemy about to engage them as she detected herself from Toby's furry head and took a stance… Only to blink as a larger vortex appeared and began gobbling, in truth, behind them the enemy itself before a larger one appeared, which she was wary of.
It was mainly a mass of darkness that had glowing orange eyes, and a sharp set of teeth, before reshaping itself into a large serpent similar in design to a smaller Basilisk, but with a Reaper Leviathan (6) head (which instead of four, it had six eyes), and four webbed with random minor holed wings matching its black or ashen hide.
It roared mainly at Morgana as the barrier shattered and she tumbled off Toby, and into the street with Basil stopping the puppy and was startled, like both Olivia and Dawson were, at being encased in a dark barrier and a cloaked person that was free-floating close by, did a shush motion and vanished in a black and dark vortex.
(Play: /Ztis2RgeEyI)
The beast began going after Morgana by sheer instinct, and making her blink in small surprise by it occurring, she dodged-rolled before managing to strike the creature in one of its eyes from her right-wing becoming something sharp and doing so and began dodging its unexpected blasts of plasma from its maw, randomly, at her.
After the seventh blast, it roared in anger as it glowed a dark-yellowish aura and went through a vortex it summoned, quickly, and Morgana was soon dodging left and right to avoid the beast's vortex attack it was doing until it came right in front of her, and as Morgana swerved to the side with Xal'atath secretly aiding the Young Chaosarinian, she saw her left-wing this time jabbed the beast's second out of six eyes to cause it to roar out and have the top-left main eye's remaining as it jabbed the rest after another pass, and smacked her away from it as it began to rant and rage in place.
The beast then charged in unexpected speed at her as Morgana, thankfully, let Xal'atath aid her from blocking its sharp teeth to eat her, and her tail slapped its eyes to make it recoil and drop her before she was running at it trying to blast her once again with seeing it regrew those eyes as it did so.
Morgana had to do this a few more times before the beast roared, and made her back up after gracefully landing on her feet, as it grew bigger and bigger until it was twice its original size and was now around a large behemoth, and roared deeply at her then before she yelped and dodged the purple lightning it soon charged and sent at her spots, repeatedly, from the wings sparking of electricity.
After she did the fourth wave of dodging the acidic bolts, from finding out the hard way from a human-sized street light of this period, easily corroded and fell onto the said street, and managed to dodge that while trying to not breathe the metallic fumes it briefly gave from that, shook in the sky, and tilted its maw upwards to the sky and sent a barrage of fireballs she also had to dodge in a full circle.
"This thing is a pushover," Xal'atath comments after Morgana dodged an unexpected appearance of being bitten by the beast, and Morgana warily told her weapon back as she was soon sending fireballs to try and strike the healing eyes as she dodge-rolled the fireballs it sent at her, "Yes, and I would complain more if it simply left."
As if hearing her, Morgana was perplexed as it vanished into a vortex with glaring orbs before turning to her left and being sent away by Olivia shouting in alarm, "Lookout!" Morgana didn't hear the beast let out hissing laughter as she was slammed against a nearby wall, and shook her head alongside seeing stars once again appearing around her head, and moved in time as she was almost nabbed by the beast's pincers to try and eat her again.
The Young Chaosarinian was weary and tired, and even panting from this ongoing battle as the beast before she simply looked to be gloating as if it expected this, before ramming right at her repeatedly and tossing her every which way and soon she was grabbed with her and was face-to-face as Xal'atath was forcibly dismissed.
(Pause Music/Finish Music)
Basil had enough alongside the others as he tried yet failed to break the barrier they were in separating them from the child about to be devoured until an unexpected flash of a neon-black light beam shot at the beast which made it roar in surprising agony and blinded it while instantly tossing Morgana into the air… And was soon caught by none other than Zone-Tan as she glared right at the recoiling creature that was still in pain.
Zone-Tan was, in her terms, minding her own business before she felt her heart being affected while nearly getting slammed by an alien on her latest trip on a world known as Charr, and was sucked unknowingly by a rainbow vortex and eventually landed a few miles away from Morgana's position, at mouse size (to her ire).
She heard, with her hearing, the sounds of battle and eventually decided to see that it was Morgana handling herself against a summoned Corvadrax Drake, and eventually stepped in when she saw how overwhelmed the child was.
Anyways, back to the matter at hand.
Zone-Tan tensed up once she felt how weak Morgana was, and saw the child blink in the utter surprise at seeing her here.
Zone-Tan had brief slitted-amber eyes for a moment before they shifted back, still glaring at the drake, and gazed at Morgana who weakly said to her, and concerning the demoness as she snapped, and the barrier keeping Basil and the others, vanished, "You came."
"Indeed I have, Spitfire. Here," Zone-Tan gave Morgana a small vial which she reluctantly took while leaning on her, and they ignored the others coming over with the child leaning on the demoness in small support, of the Corvadrax Drake, causing random damage to the area to make a historic yet weird report a day later, and the child drank the oddly sweet vial and shivered as she felt instantly energized.
Basil held in a wheeze though when Morgana was placed into his hold as he was once again baffled, like Dawson was at the demoness summoning her weapon as the beast became slowly aware and firmly told him with a look he shivered from, "Keep her safe as this thing, once it has a scent, will go after the highest threat it wants to consume for power. I hope to kill this thing at least and try to find her once I manage." Her one eye shift was the main reason to make the detective nervous, but wordlessly nodded as Morgana soon yawned and fell asleep in his hold, and saw Zone-Tan gently rubbing Olivia's hair and then yelled out to herself as she took off after the beast, and they fled on Toby.
Who was that woman? And why is it that she and this child's eyes unsettle me? And more importantly… Looking more Humane? Basil thought with millions of scientific possibilities running through his mind as they resumed the hunt for Fidget the bat.
Basil froze before glancing down with a brief small soft look at Morgana gently purring in an unusual way to make her cute looking until he paled with Dawson keeping Olivia occupied by seeing her mouth and teeth for a few moments when she yawned and snuggled next to him as her wings, he figured by instinct, gently yet firmly latched onto Toby's fur. Not ordinary people that's for sure.
Further away, eight minutes later, Fidget is indeed inside for the last few hours and was removing the last of the Royal British Guard uniforms from toy soldiers.
The male bat then stuffs the uniforms into his sack and reaches into his wing pocket for Ratigan's list and a pencil, and reads from the list and checks along as he goes. "'Get the following. Tools, check. I got tools. 'Gears', double-check. I got gears. 'Both Girls'..." Remembering just now he does not have Olivia yet, he makes a check and then erases it. "No, didn't get both girls. 'Uniforms'... I got plenty of uniforms!" He chuckles again to himself at the end of his words and is then startled as Toby howls unexpectedly outside. "Oh no, oh no. I gotta hide! I gotta hide! Ooh, I gotta hide!"
Fidget grabs the hats from the soldiers and stuffs them into his bag, and as he jumps on top of a clown toy and onto a higher shelf, the list flutters in front of the toy soldiers without him noticing, and from his previous entry, that same cloaked person holding the urge to scowl before also hiding as well.
Back outside, Basil has jumped off Toby's muzzle onto the window ledge, "Splendid job, Toby!"
Olivia is standing on Toby's muzzle and holds out her arms towards Basil, who gives her a look of annoyance but holds his arms out to her. She jumps and he catches her, and sets her down, nudging her forward.
Morgana also gently stood with her yawning at least for a moment and shook her head as she gently slid down Toby's nose with her then gently patting it after, in a wordless gesture of thanks.
As Dawson is the last to move down, Toby begins to growl at him again.
Dawson tips his hat and is prepared to make a hasty jump, but Toby gives a deliberate sneeze, which sends Dawson tumbling head over heels, hitting Basil. Basil looks down at Dawson, then at Toby.
"Now Toby… Sit!" Basil ordered the puppy to which Toby remained standing. Basil then marches back down the window still and stands in front of his dog, speaking more strictly this time. "Toby… Sit." Morgana held back a small and wary laugh at the look Basil gave Olivia of jealousy as she told the puppy gently, "Sit, Toby." Toby promptly sits.
"Good boy." Basil states before moving past Olivia, "If you'll excuse me."
Olivia, despite the attitude Basil briefly gave off, whispered to Toby as Morgana stood beside her, in encouragement, "You be good now. We're going to find my father."
When they went over to Basil, he was humming to himself as he inspected the ledge and window. His humming slows as he sees a tiny hole in the center of the small round window and points at it triumphantly. "Ah-ha! Here is our friend's entrance."
"But Basil, how could he fit through such a tiny…" "Observe, Doctor." Basil stopped the doctor from speaking as he took Dawson's hand and stuck one of his fingers into the hole. He watches confidently as Dawson pulls his hand back, displaying that Fidget has used the window as a door.
"Basil, you astound me!" Dawson states with the two children giggling as the window's image enlarges his head comically before Basil hastily shushes him and climbs in, followed by Olivia, Morgana, and Dawson. After getting inside, Dawson closes the window.
Inside, they walk through the store. The store made both Olivia and Morgana in small awe as she saw the delicate perfection of each unique toy this human toy shop has and was about to comment on the one that looked like a lancer knight riding a horse to her friend as Dawson didn't look where he's going and bumps into something.
"Ooh! I beg your pardon, I-" he stops when he sees that what he hit was a huge doll, and she was next to several other unique ones as well before they realized as the trio except Basil looked around the toy store, it was immense and filled with many upon many more toys that even Morgana dared dream of having, "Oh my. Upon my word, I've never seen so many toys."
Basil warningly darts out from behind the doll's leg and firmly warns Dawson, "Behind any of which could lurk a bloodthirsty assassin! So please, Doctor… Be very careful." As Basil stealthily moves between the toys and through shadows, Morgana, Olivia and Dawson stay close behind.
They start to climb up a ladder, leading them to a higher shelf without seeing the one doll wordlessly gaze right at Morgana before sighing, and going back to sleep.
She was a female doll in a Lolita Dress that was mostly black and grey designed with it having a built-in black small tie and frilly cures at the end of the sleeves. There was also a black large ribbon tied as a belt around her waist, and her dress also had a grey line within the center and bottom of it. Around the chest, part was where the tie was, yet it was lined-ruffled in the same grey color as the trimmings. There was also a darker imprint of a wave line circling the center of the dress as well. The dress also showed some of the female doll's legs. On her head was a headband with matching-grey linen bunny ears as on the left ear, was the Symbol of the newer enemy Morgana saw, and she had navy-blue colored hair up to her shoulders and with it being curly hair and her banes are straightened, amber-colored eyes, a perfect doll-like face with natural light-red lips, and perfect eyelashes. She also had a grey collar around her neck as well and wore short white socks and black low-heeled shoes (7).
Anyways, Basil and Dawson quietly crept down the shelf when a sudden crashing noise from behind caused them to freeze and Dawson to leap into Basil's arms. They look behind them and see that Olivia has turned on a toy music box, and is watching the noisy fireman band play, and Morgana looking at them with a shrug while gazing sheepishly.
"Oh! What the dev… Ooh!" Utterly annoyed, Basil shoves the heavy Dawson off of him and leaps for the control lever, shutting the toy off. He turns to Olivia, intensely, "Please!, Quiet!" He turned to Dawson, "Don't let this girl out of your sight!"
Dawson soon stands at attention and salutes as Basil walks past. He looks at Olivia, who is giving a playful salute of her own, and takes her hand as Morgana paused, glanced back thinking she saw someone else was behind them, shrugged, and began following the duo as Dawson gently told Olivia, "Now, Olivia dear, stay close."
From above, Fidget watches the trio move across a chessboard, and he was rather disturbed at seeing the doll before rubbing his eyes at his current spot and was then silently going somewhere else to hide, as the doll herself was sucked into a rainbow vortex.
With Basil, he pauses by the rook of the chessboard, "Hmm…" he then pushes the rook over one space. "Checkmate." Eventually, they follow Basil as he then says, "Ah-ha!" As he held the magnifying glass he brought to his eye, he was soon staring at Fidget's footprints. "Evidence of our peg-legged adversary and hums as he follows the footprints, stopping at the rows of naked toy soldiers, "Hmm… How very odd."
"What is it, Basil?" Dawson asked with Morgana rubbing her eyes as she thought she saw a faint glowing symbol on the naked wooden toy soldiers and once she blinked, didn't see it at all with her holding Olivia's hand gently.
"Isn't it painfully obvious, Doctor? These dolls have been stripped of their uniforms." Basil mainly tells Dawson while being exasperated, "And not by any child, either." He and Olivia glance at each other as they both examine the footprints and leave Morgana to stand by herself as she gazes at one of the toy soldiers in front of the child.
Basil looks over his shoulder, having seen more strange evidence as he mutters 'Hello' as he looks around the insides of mechanical toys, where all the gears are missing. "Someone has taken the liberty of removing the clockwork mechanisms from these toys."
At a nearby spot, Fidget's eyes widen as he sees the four discovering his handiwork, and he darts away.
Meanwhile, Dawson has found the list and begins to try and get Basil's attention, "Basil…" "Please, I'm trying to concentrate." "But Basil, I-I-" Suddenly music boxes are playing, and winding toys are moving along the shelves.
A toy puppy pokes its head out of a hat and barks, alongside a bunny moving an eggshell up and down as a baby chick chirps inside. Even a toy fiddle player and a carousel. Nearly every toy in the shop is operating on its own.
Olivia, seeing some bubbles, follows them with Morgana blinking at this, and separating themselves from Dawson and Basil without seeing the one toy soldier she was next to secretly snarling at not nabbing the Young Chaosarinian.
Morgana managed to find Olivia as she was near a small Dumbo toy that is the source of the bubbles, and there is a mouse-sized baby carriage that is slowly rocking back and forth, Olivia approached it, and as she reaches up to pull the blanket back, she was stopped by Morgana at soon recalling things, and made the mouse girl be perplexed at her stiffening as the Young Chaosarinian's ears heard a clatter before grabbing her friend as Fidget lunges at her threateningly, a bonnet on his head.
In the other room, Basil and Dawson hear Olivia's terrified scream. "Olivia!"
Fidget was glaring at the strangest looking reptile girl he had ever seen as she glanced at Olivia as if he was for real, as she saw her wings easily held him down from him trying to either nab her or Olivia without much success at all, and he soon stopped with a pant before he stiffened as he thought of something, quickly, and pointed to his left to make both her and Olivia to turn and look, "Hey! What's that thing?!"
With Morgana distracted and those within her sighing at easily falling for that cruel trick, she was immediately whacked at the back of her head from a wooden baby bottle the bat nabbed from the toy cradle, and with Olivia soon struggling within the clothed sack, "Gotcha!"
Basil starts rushing ahead, urging Dawson to follow him. "Quickly, Doctor!" As Basil disappears behind a book, he quickly changes direction as a large Ferris wheel toy is rolling towards them as if possessed, "Ah, ya, ah! Look out!" He and Dawson leap out of their way and onto an 'Around the World' path toy.
Another large doll at the spot close by soon fell close to them as they ran for their lives, but only moved the paper path below their feet. Just as the doll is about to crush them, they reach the end of the path and can leap off just like the doll breaks. A piece of the porcelain doll's face rolls towards Dawson, its vacant eye blinking at him.
Basil eventually catches up and rushes by, but Fidget at that point has wound up a toy jouster which moves towards them with an outstretched spear. Basil can leap on a trumpet above him, but the jousting spear has caught Dawson by his jacket, and he is hurled towards a dartboard, pinned to it.
Basil looks behind him, and his head is crushed between the cymbals of the firemen's band music box, which has started up again as well. Basil stumbles over to a pile of marbles and trips over them, causing them to scatter with several marbles flying towards Dawson, one hitting him on his head.
Fidget is making his way to the window he unlocked to get into the toy shop in the first place, and laughing, "Bye-bye." He opens the window again and is nearly eaten by Toby, who barks and growls at the exit. Fidget quickly slams the window shut and climbs up the cash register and back onto the shelves.
Basil soon regains consciousness and is once again on the bat's tail as he jumps onto a spring horse, and uses it to jump from shelf to shelf. "Stop, you fiend!"
Basil reaches the top shelf and falls off the horse at the base of a large pyramid of building blocks. On opposite sides, Basil and Fidget are climbing to the top. Fidget makes leaps at the top, catching the ledge of the open sky roof. Basil tries to leap for him, but as he does, the blocks tumble and fall, taking Basil down with them.
Glancing down for a moment, Fidget chuckles evilly and throws the tied sack on top of the roof, and climbs out. Olivia as the bat did this, muffled as loud as she could in the sack, "Help! Mister Basil, help! Help!"
Fidget kicked the bag slightly with his actual foot to make Olivia whimper as Fidget took the bag and was soon hopping from roof to roof, back towards Ratigan's Lair in a singing voice, and didn't think he forgot anything at all. "I got the gears, I got the tools, I got the uniforms, I got the girl, heh-heh-heh-heh!"
Inside, Dawson has managed to free himself and is searching for Basil. "Basil! Basil!" He hears the sound of a doll repeatedly saying 'Mama', and he pushes aside a small boat and drum to find Basil tangled to the doll's pull string, furiously trying to untie himself.
"Basil! Olivia… She's…" Dawson tried to get out before the detective stopped him there and told him loudly, "She's gone, Dawson! Confound it! I told you to watch over the girl!." He manages to untie the string and falls to the ground, regaining his wind quickly, as well as his bad temper. "Now she's been spirited away by that maniacal little monster. Soon to be in the clutches of the most depraved mind in all of London! I should have known better than to…" he soon stops mid-rant and sees Dawson simply standing there, his back turned, and his head hung sadly. "Than to… Um, eh, Dawson? Dawson?" Basil soon looks concerned at the damage he has done. "I say, Dawson, old chap?"
Dawson sniffles and wipes his face with his handkerchief he got out and told mainly himself in growing guilt, "Oh, ah, poor girl. I should have watched her more closely."
Basil then apologetically told the older mouse "Don't worry, old fellow. It's not… Entirely hopeless." Dawson says nothing at first but eventually looks towards Basil when the younger mouse puts his hand on his shoulder. "We'll get her back."
"Do-Do you think there's a chance?" Dawson decided to ask the detective as he nodded before thinking, "There's always a chance, Doctor…" Basil soon lights his pipe and resumes speaking, "As long as one can think."
Basil begins to pace around the room, and Dawson sighs, putting his hands in his pockets. A puzzled expression soon crosses his face as he pulls out the list, reading from it. "'Get the following: Tools, gears…" "What?" "'Both Girls'..." Basil overhears Dawson's words from him seeing a piece of paper in the old veteran's hands, "Get the following…" "Unif-" Basil gently snatched and saw the list, overjoyed at this key piece of evidence. "Dawson, you've done it! This list is precisely what we need."
Before the doctor could speak his bafflement, they both froze at hearing a familiar word of 'Help' from one other girl, and soon went back to another part of the shop itself and grabbed whatever they could, as to their unexpected shock, the toy soldiers that were without clothing, were covered in a dark aura of sorts as they proceeded to carry a struggling Morgana away into a shadowy vortex that was a few moments away from them.
"Take that!" Basil states in vengeful glee as he needed something to also edge off the loss of getting Fidget as he blinked after slicing one of them in half, a black mist left it with Dawson accidentally taking out several with a nearby carving board he knocked and ran from, turning the soldiers he defeated into the same black mist that seemed to be condensing into a growing large mass, as soon they managed to get Morgana and finish those off… For only to see she was injected with something to make her stiff yet aware if the silvery needle Basil tossed didn't have anything to say about it.
"B-Basil!" Dawson's stuttering the detective's name out with him also tugging as Basil was about to be annoyed by him once again before he too froze as the mass shifted into a demonic-looking version of a knight, and it resembles closely a Komodo Dragon mixed with a large Drakonid (8) as the weapon it wielded was a double-bladed ax, in which as well, was twisted looking.
Not again! Basil thought as he hefted the child onto his shoulders as he and Dawson soon ran from this darkness-like created monstrosity, and eventually came to a dead end.
Basil and Dawson didn't like the way that the creature smirked at them as it raised its weapon to strike them all… For only to falter its direct attack and making Dawson gulp at how close the weapon was to a killing blow, from an unexpected flash-like blast from its back as the entity sharply turned with a loud growl at seeing Zone-Tab with her left hand held out, and slightly smoking as within her other was her weapon, and her eyes were amber-slitted in fury with seeing her outfit was singed as well to realize she took care of that one particular beast.
"You two head back to where you plan to go, as I can easily track the Squirt down to find her as she needs rest, as this thing… Is mine." Zone-Tan firmly told them with a look stating wordlessly, an order, and Basil didn't need to be told twice as he, Dawson, and with the detective easily carrying a sleeping Morgana from whatever she was shot at, headed to the one window and back to Baker Street.
As they left, however, Zone-Tan swirled her weapon as a mix of light and darkness emitted from her weapon before she eventually got into a fighting stance, and grinned wickedly at the roaring beast before her as a crimson aura soon covered her frame, "This is going to be fun."
At Ratigan's Lair, at this point and time:
Flaversham is working on the robot all this time as he adds features specifically told by the rat he hates before he soon tenses as the very rat himself, Ratigan, enters the workroom.
"Ah, Mr. Flaversham." Flaversham eyes Ratigan warily as he holds his cape dramatically. "Allow me to present…" Ratigan swiftly moves his cape to the side to reveal Olivia in Fidget's grasp. "Your charming daughter!"
"Olivia!" Hiram states in mixed emotions as Olivia responds in kind, and as Fidget keeps a tight hold on Olivia as she rushes towards Flaversham, she stomps on his foot and runs to her father as Fidget hops up and down in pain. "Owww! My foot, my only foot!"
Olivia hugs her lost father and cries, "Oh Father! I thought I'd never find you!" Mr. Flaversham hugged his child tenderly as he tried soothing her then, "Oh, there, there, there, there, my bairn. I'm all right. Oh, I was so worried about my little girl."
"Oh, how sweet." Ratigan began as he pretended to wipe at his eyes with his handkerchief, fake crying, "Oh, I just love tearful reunions." The rat then grabs the young girl's back, "Now, come along, my dear."
Olivia, realizing the situation, reaches out to her only parent, begging, "Oh please! Please!" She still reaches out towards Flaversham as Fidget takes her away and blocks her attempts, "Father!"
Mr. Flaversham, however, is being restrained by Ratigan and tries to plead with the nefarious rat, "Olivia! Oh please, professor!"
"Now, now, Fidget will take good care of her." Ratigan faked soothingly to Olivia's father before threateningly telling him then as he headed for the door, "That is, as long as we have no further delays!"
Mr. Flaversham fearfully returns to work on the robot to inwardly please the rat professor, "Yes, yes, I-I'll finish it. Oh, just don't hurt my daughter."
"Remember, it must be ready… Tonight!" Ratigan reminded firmly the toymaker as he soon slammed the door to prove a point as he watched in the distance before casually and slowly coming over to Fidget, carrying Olivia towards a discarded bottle lying on its side.
"Stop! Let me go! You ugly old thing!" Olivia states to Fidget as he pushes her inside and puts the cork in the bottle, and responds smugly, "That ought to hold ya!" Olivia is in the green bottle by the cork, yelling randomly in growing panic, "Help! LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT!"
"See how you like that!" Fidget tells her off while blowing a raspberry, then strides away towards Ratigan, who is stopped and is looking through the bag the bat placed down moments ago.
"Ah, the uniforms. Oh Fidget, I knew I could rely on you." Ratigan tells him pleasantly before being in a good mood and asks the one-legged bat, "Now, you didn't forget anything?"
Fidget cackles to himself before telling his boss without a doubt, "No problem. I took care of everything. Everything on the list." Unfortunately, as he opens his wing to display the list, he realizes it's missing and frantically searches for it. "Uh-oh…" "What's wrong?" Ratigan states in question and his mood drops as he watches Fidget continuing to pat himself down.
Fidget, panicking, kept searching as he ignored his boss, "The list… I know…" Ratigan, becoming angrier, firmly asked him to get the bat to fearfully stare at his boss, "Where's the list?"
Nervously, Fidget gulped and began to explain to the rat, "The list, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well you see, uh, it was like this. I was in the toy store getting uniforms when I heard 'A-roo A-roo' (aka, Toby)." Ratigan was puzzled, and then states impatiently while rubbing his forehead at how dumb his minion was acting, "You're not coming through." Fidget then imitates a dog and more as he continued to warily explain, "A dog came. I ran. I had a baby bonnet, girl in bag and Basil chased me."
Hearing this last piece of information, Ratigan now cracks, "What? Basil on the case?! Why you gibbering little…" Fidget cowers as Ratigan clutches his chest, apparently having a heart attack. His face is red with fury, but just as quickly as his temper rises, Ratigan soon calms down and blinks before asking firmly, to make Fidget gulp, "Did you even get the other girl?"
Hearing no response except seeing the bat sweat, Ratigan's mood grew sour before he placed a small smile on his face to drop Fidget's fear, of sorts, as he easily scoops Fidget into his arms.
Ratigan chuckles to the bat than with his eyes holding a different story, "Oh, my dear Fidget. You have been hanging upside down too long." The bat blinked before warily stating to his boss then, "You mean, you're not mad? I'm glad you're taking it so well." Ratigan carries Fidget to the back. There is silence until we hear the sound of a bell and Fidget's terrified scream.
Around the corner, Felicia is now holding Fidget, attempting to have the bat for dinner as Fidget keeps making desperate attempts to escape. Panicking, Fidget tells off the cat, "Not me, you idiot. No, stop you stupid fur ball! Open up! Open up! Ai, ai, ai! Oh, ow! You're hurting my wings!" Ratigan has his back turned and is leaning against a bottle close by, rubbing his temples.
Ragingly talking to himself, Ratigan's mood was sour still as he rubbed his head in disdain, "How dare that idiot Basil pokes his stupid nose into my wonderful scheme and foul up everything!"
Meanwhile, as the rat raged, "Let me out! Let me out! HELP!" Fidget has managed to climb out of Felicia's mouth, only to have her stuff him back inside and keep her mouth plugged with one of her paws.
"Oh, I can just see that insufferable grin on his smug face." Ratigan nevertheless chatted to himself before rubbing his head from banging the glass bottle in frustration, until in mere moments, his mood brightened with a swift and wicked idea. "Yes… Yes, I can just see it." He chuckles before ordering his pet, "Felicia, release him."
"I'm too young to die!" Felicia pouts for a moment, then spits the poor mangled bat out. "Wooo…" Ratigan, having found some use for the bat, after all, holds him up by his cheeks. "Fidget, you delightful little maniac. You've presented me with a singular opportunity." He drops Fidget, feigning a look of concern. "Poor Basil!" His look soon shifted to being malevolently wicked, "Oh, he is in for a little surprise."
Ratigan paused at now recalling the gemstone, due to his lackey's failure in nabbing the one girl and blinked as a note was immediately placed into his free hand after rubbing it, reading it, and wickedly grinned once again before shoving the gemstone right into Fidget's perplexed hands before the rat was whispered to what he was to do, and the bat blinked at the gem before an equal grin showed on his face as he nodded, and took off with it.
