Author's Note:

Hello everyone! I'd like to just say a big thanks for those who are following! It's only been 2 chapters in and I've already caught some eyes. Makes me giddy and I'm not afraid to admit it. Aaaaand, I've also gotten reviews! Which I'll post at the start of each chapter, if it's a question/theory/or if it just makes me laugh!

- One To Seven: Well, review. So, thx for the great chapter. I always like one of these Toga-fic... Critics, I know nothing about writing, so no relevant nor significant critics I can say.

And that is perfectly fine! The first review usually makes the most of a story, gives that boost in morale to the author. Really hits more than you guys think. Hopefully I'll get more reviews that revolve my OC and other characters' personalities. It'll help me find the best possible path to go down. And I fucking love it.

- Tom2011: Wow man, great story and I love the main character.

As I go along, I'll definitely try to flesh him out better and better. This chapter should get things rolling for that.

- evfrnet: Love the story so far. Keep up the good work!

And you, kind follower, keep reading and supporting! 3

ALSO! I'm gonna make this chapter pretty hefty because I'll be moving soon and won't be able to work on much without internet. Or I'll just flat out busy, so this chapter will have to hold out for a while.

Anyway let's get things rolling!

I hope you all enjoy.

The rest of the matches went by in a breeze.

Probably because once he got his match done and over with, Shinra didn't really find the others to be worth much. Interesting. But nothing to really take note of.

After this, he could tell that the powerhouses of the class were Bakugo, Todoroki, Midoriya, Iida and Tokoyami. Not including himself, he found those five to be a threat all on their own. Having faced Bakugo himself, he knew the teen was a fighter at heart. Had fast reflexes, excellent battle instinct and that neverending tenacity to never stop until his enemy was unconscious, crippled or actually dead. He was ruthless.

Todoroki was an enigma. He was strong enough to freeze an entire building, but only after the match ended did he use his fire. He made it clear he didn't like using flames in fights. Which to Shinra, was a big 'fuck you' to anyone worth a damn in a fight. Which would also be his downfall if he thought purposely crippling himself was a good idea.

Midoriya. The name alone was enough to send an excited chill through his body at the idea of fighting the awkward teenager. It was like dancing with the incarnation of death itself when you know a single punch would be enough to completely obliterate your skeletal system and send your organs into a blood festival. Obviously he knew Midoriya didn't have the fighter's spirit in him, not unless he was protecting something or someone. But when the boy got fired up... Shinra could never keep the smile away as he thought about a fight without holding back.

Tokoyami. The bird boy threw Shinra for a loop. To have a sentient quirk was like having a partner at all times, capable of making their own decisions. When Dark Shadow can be confused, Tokoyami could step in with a battle plan. When Tokoyami found himself backed in a corner, Dark Shadow could go wild on his own if he wanted to. And nobody could anticipate a literal shadow beast on a rampage. The only downside is Tokoyami really, really relied to heavy on his quirk instead of his own body. Understable when he'd think about a sentient power, but still. And obvious weakness once the light comes down.

Although, Shinra wondered how strong they'd be at night.

But that's for another time.

And Iida... Shinra couldn't even say he was being generous. Even without an Emitter Quirk, for him to only have engines in his calves made the mutant a dangerous player. He didn't see much in his match, but he was quick and Shinra had a feeling that if Iida was placed in an all out match with someone, he'd be capable of making manaevers that would break anyone's legs attempting to do so. Taking a hit from said legs would be a problem too.

Other than those five, the warp teen could probably say the next group of dangerous fighters would be Mina, Kirishima, Shoji and Sato.

Shinra hummed to himself as he leaned a head into his hand, slouched at his desk. His eyes roamed the classroom as Aizawa went over the results from the battle trials. Apparently the homeroom teacher was watching in his own private room without actually being involved.

Shinra kept looking around as his thoughts took over.

Maybe Kaminari too.

...

He could definitely take him. He'd have to chance it at some point.

And that's how the rest of class went. He imagined who he could beat, who would come close to rocking his shit, and who are just a difficult person to deal in general. His thoughts went on for a while, not caring as Aizawa continued with the results. Although he did find it a bit humorous when Bakugo got called out for being a crazy son of a bitch.

When the bell rang, letting the students know the day was finally over, Shinra stood back as his classmates filed out the door. "Hey, sensei. Got a minute?"

"Hm?" Aizawa had been ready to head out with a stack of papers once Koda had been the last to leave. He gave the white head a quick glance and sighed. The scraggy hero scratched his head and arched a brow. "Fine, make it quick though. I have lots of work to sift through."

"Sooo... I need off next Monday." Shinra gave a sheepish grin. "It's important."

The underground pro just stared. "You just started your school year and already skipping? This Monday coming up is a lesson on rescues in an active environment."

"I figured it might be something important, but I wouldn't ask out if it weren't serious."

"Such as?"

"Monday is the day both of my parents died." Shinra said bluntly, as if he was announcing the weather. "And I don't exactly do well around this time of year." The look in his eyes didn't change, but Aizawa inwardly groaned. As much as the teacher tried to find a reason, any reason to think the teen in front of him was using it as an excuse, he knew he was in the right. He didn't need an accident to happen if his student wasn't mentally all there. Even if it was during a supervised exercise by him and other teachers.

He knew better than to push a superpowered teen at their worst.

But the teacher continued to stare at Shinra, looking into his eyes for any signs of lying.

Nothing but gold.

"Alright," Aizawa grumbled. "But don't expect more than a day. Only Monday."

Shinra smied. "Understood. Thanks."

With that, the white haired boy quickly stepped out the classroom and made his way through the halls. Which surprisingly didn't have many people left over. The warp-user was just glad he didn't have to deal with getting shoulder checked like usual. Allowing him to take a casual pace through the school, hands behind his head as he whistled without a care in the world.

The thought came to him.

Now that he had Monday off, he could spend it however he wanted.

Obviously he was going to put time hanging with Yuma. Maybe he'd let her skip school. Spoil her for once.

But he definitely needed to keep his mind cleared until the day passed over. It became more of a ritual than an heartfelt tradition; spending a little of his time to pay respects to his late parents. Not that he had any love left for them. Those emotions dried up a long, long time ago. He held love only for Himiko and Yuma.

Shinra pursed his lips.

Perhaps Yoko too.

But it was definitely a way to clear his head of unwanted stress. He'd rather not risk having any emotions burst into an uncontrollable fit.

Again.

Still, he did have a whole day.

Eh, he'll figure it out when the day comes.

As Shinra waltzed through another set of doors into a staircase, something caught his eye through a nearby window. "Oh?" Stopping mid-step, the warp-user peered through the glass and arched a brow when he saw Midoriya waving after Bakugo. 'Strange. You'd think after the near-death experience Midoriya had and the sling one of his arms were placed in, he would hesitate to get anywhere near close to his school bully.' The warp user thought.

"Unless Midoriya is into getting his ass beat..." Shinra muttered, seriously wondering what kind of freaky deaky shit the green haired broccoli was into. It wasn't his business, but Shinra would be considered a liar if he said he wasn't the least bit interested to see what sort of conflict could spark between the two.

Quickly looking around him to check for any cameras, Shinra found himself in the clear and jumped through a quick made portal.

With a curt grunt, he found himself landing on a tree branch over the heads of the two. He wasn't completely hidden from the childhood friends, but that was only if they turned his way. He pulled out his phone and set it to record, a mischievous grin splitting his face.

He wasn't sure what was going on, but there was a possibility that Bakugo would flip shit.

And there was no way he was gonna miss a good ol' fashioned beatdown.

"What the hell do you want, Deku?" The ash-blonde sneered, turning around with his hands in his pocket. "Tryna gloat just cuz you won that stupid fucking mock battle?"

In front of him, Midoriya had stopped to look generally surprised he had gotten his bully to stop. "Oh! U-Um..." The green boy stammered as he tried to find the words to use. Bakugo narrowed his eyes as he pulled his hands out of his pockets slowly. That got Midoriya's attention as he waved his good hand in front of him in a panic. "W-Wait! I don't wanna fight! In fact, I feel like you deserve the t-truth actually..."

"Yeah?" The blonde raised a brow, already showing signs of aggression. "Gonna admit how you've been looking down on me all these years hiding that fake power of yours from me?" There were pops going off between his fingers. He growled. "You think that shit is funny you fucking nerd? Huh!?"

Midoriya yelped. "No, that's not it at all!" He raised his voice before taking a breath. "But it is about my quirk."

The explosive teen narrowed his eyes, but allowed the nerd to speak. For now.

Shinra narrowed his eyes, but he didn't stop recording.

His gut was telling him not to.

"I thought you should know that I didn't lie to you or anyone else. I was quirkless. But..." Midoriya bit his lip and looked unsure. It was like he wasn't sure if he was supposed to continue or not. But as if he found his spark, his leaned forward and stared Bakugo in the eye. "I got lucky. So lucky that even now it still feels like a dream. My quirk, S-Superpower... it was given to me. A-And I can't tell you who did, but it's the truth. Because of them, I had a chance at my dream and got accepted into UA." Midoriya gave a shaky smile. "And it gave me a chance to be at your side again. We can be heroes together, Kacchan. I-"

"You honestly believe I'd fall for that shit?"

"H-Huh?"

"You goddamn bitch." His bully exhaled through his nose like an angry bull, but Bakugo didn't lash out as violent as Midoriya expected. No, the blonde's eyes were just filled with burning hate and he let out a threatening *Boom!* from his right palm. "You think you can try that shit on me? I'm not fucking stupid, Deku."

"But I'm not-" Midoriya tried explaining but Bakugo turned around to resume his walk home. "Kacchan, wait!"

"Next time we fight, I'll crush you into the fucking dirt." Was all he heard from his childhood bully and he knew the conversation was over unless he wanted to risk getting attacked.

Seeing that his chance to come clean had been ruined, Midoriya let out a sigh before that sigh turned into an aggravated groan. The freckled teen ran a hand through his hair, wondering what his next course of action should be. That's when he heard something land hard and movement in the bushes next to him. "That sounded real interesting Midoriya." The broccoli felt his heart drop into his stomach as he watched Shinra step out of the bushes, that same friendly smile on his face as he had yesterday.

Was he watching the whole time!?

"Shinra, what are you doing here!?" Midoriya exclaimed in shock, head whipping around as he tried to see if anyone else was hiding. "Were you watching us!?"

"Yeah... I was stalking you. Not gonna lie, I thought you'd get your ass beat." Shinra laughed to himself without a shame in the world. "I wanted to catch it in 4K."

"You thought I was... gonna..." Midoriya's word slowed to a still as he spotted the phone in Shinra's hand. A small light was blinking on the back of it until Shinra's thumb pressed the screen once.

Was he recording...?

Midoriya felt sick.

"Soooo." Shinra reached around and placed his arm over Midoriya's shoulder. "That sounded like some heavy stuff back there, bud. Mind filling me in?"

"I... I don't think that's a good idea. It was nothing." Midoriya squeaked.

"Sure didn't sound like nothing. But since Bakugo couldn't stick around, why don't ya tell me what's going on with that quirk of yours. Sounded like you were saying something along the lines of... someone giving it to you?" He could feel Midoriya's muscles tense under his arm and that's when he knew the teen was struggling not to lose his composure.

"I promise you, it's nothing." Midoriya tried to sway the conversation. "It was a joke!" He tried to play it off with a forced laugh.

"A joke my ass, Midoriya." Shinra deadpanned before lifting his phone in clear sight. "I have that whole moment recorded. And it didn't look like you were ready to laugh. At all." The white haired teen narrowed his eyes and leaned in just a bit closer. He spoke in a hushed tone. "Look, Midoriya. I'm not here to blackmail you. Really, I'm not. But I am curious about that quirk of yours. The power to give someone powers? Sounds like a wish come true."

"... And how would you know I'm telling the truth?" Midoriya muttered.

"Your limbs break whenever you use it and you've never once showed any sign of strength back in school whenever I saw you. You were a punk in school and with how much Bakugo liked to push you around, you never once had the balls to beat his ass like I did. You were more or less scared of anyone with a quirk around you." Shinra pointed out the clues in an instant, as if he was recalling every minor detail. "So don't try to sell me that bullshit."

"You're right... I was powerless and didn't have any way to defend myself." The freckled hero-in-training admitted with a downcasted look, but it was soon filled with determination. "But that doesn't mean I'd sit back and take another beating. I was given this power to make a difference and now I can prove that I can be a hero too."

"See, was that so hard?" Shinra nodded as he took his arm off of Midoriya's shoulders. "And I believe you."

The teen raised his brow, as if he had thought Shinra was just pulling a cruel prank on him.

"You were given this power, right?" Shinra repeated.

"Yes." Midoriya sighed, knowing his secret was out. Then he took a quick step back and narrowed his eyes. "And no, I won't give this power."

There was a pause that Midoriya didn't like. "... Don't worry, I'm not asking for it. My curiosity stops there." Shinra chuckled as he raised his hands in a surrendering manner. Then, "But I wanna know who gave it to you."

"No."

"Aw, why not?"

"Because I've already said too much already."

"I'm just gonna guess it then."

Midoriya gave Shinra a flat stare as the white head stood there humming, tapping a finger against his chin. Was he really just gonna treat this like a game? The green child wasn't sure what Shinra's intentions were, but he kept his guard up. He was already in deep shit telling Bakugo his secret and now he was in even deeper shit now that another person knew. 'All Might's gonna kill me...' He thought with a grimace, already picturing the tongue lashing he was gonna receive from the Number 1.

"You know," Midoriya started with a suspicious tone. "You're taking this really well for some reason."

Shinra snorted. "I don't know, man. It's almost as if we live in a world where people get random powers through the DNA lottery."

"And giving a power doesn't seem the least bit like a joke to you?"

"No, why would it? You of all people know how strong and completely wacky quirks can be." If there was anything Shinra knew about Midoriya, that anyone in their old school knew, it was that he was quirk fanatic. Like cocaine to a druggie, Midoriya was infamous for collecting information about quirks and analyzing the hell out of them. Usually turning into a ball of mumbles and mutters as he talks to himself, breaking it down as fast as possible. "I mean, we got a human climate changer sitting in the back of our class, someone who can make anything weightless and then ya got Tokoyami with a living, breathing creature living inside of him. So why would I be surprised about a pass around quirk?"

"... Can I be honest?"

"Shoot."

"I don't trust you."

"Understandable."

"Like I really don't trust you. Not with information about my powers."

"Yes yes."

"And that doesn't bother you?" Midoriya arched a brow.

"Nope." Shinra shook his head. "Your secret is safe with me."

"And how can I trust you won't go spreading it around?"

"Alright, first." Shinra punched in the passcode on his phone and brought the screen up to Midoriya's face. It was a video of him and Bakugo talking to each other. Without a word, Shinra pressed the button in the corner and the video deleted itself in an instant. "There! No video evidence!" Shinra pocketed his phone and crossed his arms with a smirk. "And if that doesn't make you feel better, I'll tell you more about my powers."

"Like what?"

"Want me to show you?"

"... Am I gonna regret it?"

"More like lose your mind."

"..."

Shinra wiggled his eyebrows as if he was offering a deal a seasoned salesman would make.

"... Fine, show me."

Without even uncrossing his arms, Shinra tilted his head to his side as a human-sized portal spawned next to them. Midoriya jumped in surprise, not really expecting it so soon. But the boy didn't walk through it just yet. This was a gamble he wasn't even sure he should take. Shinra could be leading him anywhere in the world and all it would take is a single step to leave him in a bad spot.

'Or a push.' Midoriya thought with a hint of anxiety.

He gazed at the swirling vortex with an uncertain eye before looking back at its creator. "Ah, don't mind me. After you." Shinra bowed with a mock aura of being a gentlemen.

Screw it.

He was gonna put his faith in his classmate.

Midoriya rolled his eyes before taking in a breath and stepping through the portal.

"You gonna open your eyes or what?" He heard Shinra next to him.

Midoriya slowly opened one of his eyes, wondering what sort of back alley he was gonna find himself in...

They were in an open field in the middle of a forest, with trees taller than normal surrounding them. The air was crisp and fresh, slightly cold as if he was smelling the scent of nature in the morning. But there were no animal noises, no people, no cars. Nothing.

"Oh my god..." Midoriya gasped when he realized what the sky looked like.

Stars. Lots and lots of stars scattered throughout the sky with a bright blue moon hovering closer than it should. It was like they were floating in space with how clear the atmosphere was.

A comet cut through the sky and disappeared over the horizon.

Then his attention was caught on something floating in the sky behind them.

Was that an island? A floating island!? It had a waterfall dropping off it's side. And that's when Midoriya realized there were other islands just like that one hovering around.

"What is going on!? Where are we!?" Midoriya started waving his arms around in excitement, shock, fear, the boy wasn't sure. "It was just daylight a second ago!" He was still on the giant moon in front of them.

He heard heavy breathing next to him and saw Shinra crouched over with his hands on his knees. Midoriya went to check on his classmate until Shinra stood up with a somewhat tired grin. "Welcome to Neverland, Midoriya!" The warp user shook his hands as if he was putting on a show.

"Where!?"

"Neverland~"

"That doesn't answer my question!"

"... Neverland~" The warp-user laughed as Midoriya sent a glare his way. "Okay, fine. We're in another dimension."

"What?"

"Midoriya, I'm gonna smack the fuck out of you if I gotta repeat myself again."

The superpowered broccoli inhaled sharply through his nose and let out a long breath. He clasped his hands together. "You," He pointed both hands at Shinra before gesturing a finger to the moon. "Explain."

"Long story short, my quirk isn't just making portals all over the planet. It comes with a little extra... perks." Shinra grinned, basking in the obvious astonishment plastered all over Midoriya's face. "So welcome to my own personal pocket dimension. It's a special place to me and those close to me. Although I would've called it something else, but my little sister insisted on the name Neverland. Which, by the way, you're like... the fourth person to ever see this place. So congratulations!" The warp user clapped.

"This shouldn't be possible..." Midoriya mumbled, rubbing his forehead as he tried thinking of every scientific logic behind the universe. Even though he wanted to believe it wasn't true, he knew there was a possibility. And the possibility was staring at him in the face of a galaxy hovering over their heads.

"Don't know why you'd think having my own pocket dimension is impossible when you were literally given the power of god just by pure luck."

"All I got was super strength! You! This! Is a different scale!" Midoriya stammered. The poor boy looked like he was gonna pull out his hair.

"Shh, sh, sh, shhhh... shut the fuck up." Shinra placed a finger on his lips in a shush and a gentle hand on Midoriya's shoulder. "Midoriya, I need you to think about how ridiculous quirks are. Again, Tokoyami has a sentient deity living in his intestines. Quirks can be anything, yet everything depending on genetics. Like those two dumbass criminals last year that Endeavor had to deal with. What were they called... the Bowel Boys?" Midoriya shook his head slowly, apparently not having heard of such a strange name. Shinra sucked air through his teeth. "Yeah, they were gross. Two twin brothers had parents who's quirks merged a bit on the nasty side."

"Nasty... how?"

"Well from what I heard, the father had the power to scream shockwaves and the mom was capable of eating and digesting absolutely anything like basic foods. Glass, a brick, a car, whatever."

"... And what did their quirks develop into?"

"One brother had the power of farting so powerful that it can cause miniature earthquakes and the other could... literally shit himself with the power of a buckshot shotgun. Think the internet just ignored their quirk registration names and just called them Seismic Rip and Shatter Shitter." Midoriya's face cringed at that with notable disgust. "Yeah, wasn't pretty. Especially considering Endeavor nearly blew up 3 city blocks with all the methane in the air."

"Stop! Just stop talking about it! I get it!" The greenette gagged while Shinra laughed. The excitement of being in a whole new plane of existence was soured by the image of the Number 2 Hero struggling against a revolting tag-team. Midoriya shook his head and stuck out his tongue in disgust.

"Look, all I'm saying is anything is possible. It's all about chance, really."

"Okay, I get it." Midoriya said again before he furrowed his brows. "You have an amazing power, Shinra-san, but why show me this? You said it was a special place for you, but I don't believe we can call ourselves close enough to show me something like this."

Shinra took a deep breath as he put his hands on his hips and gazed out at his land. It was a strange thing to realize. It's one thing to own land, but it's just... unimaginable to be the one who created it. Even if it was on accident. And the best part, is he doesn't even know how far it stretches out. Was it just the island they were standing on? The 3 hovering above them? Was there more up in the stars? He didn't care. He just breathed in the air of his new world and felt calm. At peace.

"I'mma level with you, Midoriya." Shinra started with a wistful tone. His golden eyes had a far away look in them. "I showed you this because it's only fair since I know your secret now. And even though I don't really care to hide it, this power can attract the wrong attention and have people hunting me down. For experiments or worse." He craned his neck over and gave Midoriya a dead stare. "It's my gift and mine alone and I'll be damned if someone tried using it for themselves."

The green haired teenager blinked, wondering where the heavy tone came from. Feeling a little nervous, Midoriya asked quietly. "What is your reason for becoming a hero, Shinra-san? If you don't mind me asking."

"My family. My sister. My girlfriend." Shinra sighed as he clenched and unclenched his hands in front of his face. "I want to become a hero so I can be stronger. Not for myself, but for them. I want to keep those close to me and my power is a flight risk. Warp Quirks are rare and once they're out in the open, people won't stop chasing me for selfish gains. And that'll put them in unnecessary danger as well. They're all I care about. All I have left, really."

"You can make more friends." Midoriya offered gently. "You can have more people to care about."

"... I'd like that. But I doubt it." Shinra gave him a small smile and for once, Midoriya could feel the bare emotions behind it. It was real. And for some reason, Midoriya felt... sad for him? He wasn't sure. "Anyway, enough about all that sappy shit. Give me a couple more minutes and I'll have us back at UA."

"Why? Is something wrong?" Now that the excitement was gone, the idea of being stranded didn't exactly sit well with the greenette.

"Nah. It's one of my weak points." Shinra admitted with a hand wave. "Making portals anywhere is tiring, but making one to Neverland takes away my abilities for a little while. Like 10 minutes I think."

"How does that work?" Midoriya asked, choosing to spend more time talking if it meant passing the time.

"My quirk is Spatial Rend. I'm basically tearing a hole in reality to wherever I want. I can make a portal anywhere on the planet. Japan, America, Germany, Russia, etc." Shinra started to explain. "It's not exactly as easy as you think. It's not too exhausting, but it slows down how fast I can make a portal. Especially depending on the size of the portal and how many things are going through. It's like stretching when your whole body is sore as fuck. It works, but it's taxing." Then the warp-user gestured to the forest and stars around them. "But making an interdimensional portal is like long-jumping without a running start. After jogging a 20 mile marathon. I can do it, but my quirk tires out for a while."

"That's so fascinating." Midoriya muttered as he put a finger under his chin. "Is your quirk connected to your memory? Do you find it easier to remember locations around the globe? Does your body transform into smaller particles when you warp? Your quirk doesn't seem to have a distance limit, but it's probably bound my imagination and knowledge about known areas. Or maybe it depends on what you can and can't see. Perhaps-"

"I'll smack you." Shinra said suddenly, cutting of Midoriya's rambling with a raised hand. "Think I won't?"

"S-Sorry."

"I heard you do weird stuff, but damn." Shinra chuckled. "It's really not that special."

"Not special!?" Midoriya stressed out the word.

"Compared to you, not really. Like all I can do is get tax-free transportation and you get the deity-like powers that can punch anything to oblivion like-" Shinra gasped as it finally clicked.

Midoriya didn't like how the teen was staring at him. Shinra connected the dots. Midoriya didn't have powers in all their years of school, but there was a news report about Bakugo getting captured by a sludge villain. Shinra remembered seeing the recorded footage of Midoriya going gung-ho and charging in, completely quirkless. And behold, after all was said and done, "All-Might!" came in and cleared the show. And after that, Midoriya had been seen a couple times throughout school gaining more and more muscle.

Shinra's golden eyes glowed with envy. "All Might gave you his powers!?"

"...!" Midoriya flinched and stood stock-still. "N-No!"

"You're a horrible fucking liar!"

"Shhh!" Midoriya placed a finger over his lips and desperately tried to shut up his classmate.

"There's nobody here except us!" Shinra exclaimed as he reeled his head back with laughter. "Oh you definitely hit the fucking lottery, Midoriya!" Then a thought occurred to him. "Bakugo is gonna shit himself when he realizes his idol basically spoon fed you the Number 1 Hero spot." He started laughing harder. Midoriya's face burned with embarrassment and fear at the concept. His school bully would have more than a few choice words with him when he realizes the truth.

"Please don't mention this to anyone. Please." Midoriya stressed.

Shinra caught his breath after a couple more coughs and chuckles. "I already promised I wouldn't, didn't I? You know about me and I know about you. The only difference between the two of us is," Shinra took a step forward and poked Midoriya in the cheek, grinning a mischievous and evil smile. "I can bring you back here and leave if you backstab me. Because I'm your only way out!"

He knew that.

God, he knew that.

It was an obvious thing, considering he couldn't make portals of his own. But hearing the proclamation made Midoriya's brain pause. He could very well end up stranded here for the rest of his days if Shinra had merely thought about it. And all it took was Shinra's secret over his.

"I wanna go home." Midoriya nearly cried.

"Aw, you don't wanna see the waterrise?"

"... The what?"

"Yeah, for some reason the waterfalls go in opposite directions. That's how the islands are connected actually."

"... Just take me home." Midoriya was tired.

After giving Midoriya the best experience of his life, at least to Shinra's standards, the warp user returned the two of them back to Earth and went their separate ways.

Shinra thought to himself as he entered his home. He didn't expect to expose his trump card and personal ambitions so openly like that. Nevertheless learn that the quirkless loser was given the best power known to man; on his second day of school. Maybe learning how to become a hero wouldn't be so bad. It's sure as hell gonna be interesting, he'll admit.

But for now, he was home and this was his time to relax.

"Big Brother is home, Big Brother is home~!" A voice sang like sweet music to his ears as he knelt down and scooped up the charging ball of energy. With an over exaggerated grunt of effort, he hefted up Yuma and swung her around. The little sister giggled in happy excitement as she clung to his neck.

"Hey, kiddo." A voice greeted him and he spotted someone sitting on his sofa. It was an older lady, with greying purple hair and an eyepatch over her left eye. Yoko, his technical legal guardian, leaned back in the cushions and cracked a dry chuckle. "Guess the peace and quiet is out the window now." Shinra wasn't surprised to see her inside his home. As much as she was the legal guardian that technically adopted him and Yuma under her care, she was also the landlord of his house. Even if she preferred living in her own home, but checked in now and then.

"Sup, grandma."

Yoko sighed. "One day you'll learn to respect your elders."

"Not like you aren't 64 and counting." Shinra snorted as he waltzed over to the couch. He plopped down on the cushion next to Yoko with Yuma smiling happily as she was perfectly content to sit on his lap. That's when the warp-user noticed the television playing in front of them. But instead of normal cartoons or action shows that kids usually watch, it was a news report.

"Vigilante strikes again." He read off the screen. There wasn't a crystal clear photo of the culprit. Only a blurred image of a person wearing light blue and black. "Kills 3 villains involved with drug trades."

"Kids these days think they can just take matters into their own hands." Yoko let out a grumpy huff as she put the TV on mute.

"Ya know, I don't really think news reports about murder is a good show for kids, Yoko." Shinra deadpanned as he snatched the remote from her hand. Or at least tried to. She swiped her hand away from his at the last second, proving that her reflexes were still pitch perfect.

"I wanted to watch it." Yuma piped up, leaning in Shinra's face with a laugh. "I like seeing Heroes win."

"Vigilantes aren't heroes." Yoko quickly spoke. She wasn't going to let her 'granddaughter' get corrupted by such lies.

Shinra, as much as he didn't really care about Heroes vs Vigilantes, could find some line to agree on. "I don't know, sis. Heroes don't exactly kill people." Just as he said it, he realized the irony the second the words left his mouth. But there was nothing he could do about it. The past was the past. As long as she never found out, all was well. "Maybe you'd be better off watching those All Might cartoons?"

"No! Those are for babies!" Yuma gave a 'humph!' and crossed her arms. "And I'm not a baby! I'm grown and I want to watch the heroes win!"

"You're 10." Yoko retorted with a flat tone.

"C'mon, Yuma, don't you want to watch something else?" Shinra suggested with a sing-song tone, wiggling his eyebrows. As much as he didn't care for heroes or villains, he didn't want his little sister brainwashed at such a young age. "Why don't we watch... Oh, I know! Peter Pan?" The old fantasy movie had always sparked excitement in the small girl. Who had immediately gasped and clapped her hands, bobbing her head like a lunatic. "Peter Pan it is then!" Shinra laughed as he set his sister off to the side and went to look for the golden movie.

"I still don't understand how she's still obsessed with that movie." Yoko scratched her cheek with an exhausted sigh. "It's decades old and she's watched it for years."

"Because Big Brother is like Peter Pan!" Yuma exclaimed, getting in the older woman's face.

At first, Yoko had laughed at the audacity of comparing the problem child to an old children's cartoon hero, but one day she had decided to sit with Yuma to watch and she can see the similarities. The teen grew up, but still acted like a child. Always spewing about freedom with a smile and never failed to protect Yuma from any trouble. Always seeming to find their little happy place called Neverland; whatever and wherever that is. Yuma had told her that it was a night time forest, but Shinra would never say. Said it was a family secret.

Pfft! Family. As if she didn't step in to raise the lot of 'em.

Fine. Keep your secrets, then.

Still, even now as she watched Shinra walk back with the CD in hand, the old woman pursed her lips and snorted. He was still wearing that goofy ass smile as he danced back to his sister. A little tradition between them before the movie starts. Now all he needed was that stupid green outfit and he could be a mirror copy. Yoko watched as Yuma squealed and crawled back on her brother's lap, watching the screen like a hawk while Shinra was content to relax against the sofa.

"You seem a bit exhausted, kiddo." Yoko inquired, before she narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "... You didn't get into any fights, did you?"

"Not exactly."

"Shinra!"

The white-head, raised a hand as he leaned back. "Hey, I'll have you know I was participating in actual mock battle simulations this time! I only got to fight once, but the rest of the day was just flat out boring."

Yoko arched a brow. "Oh? Hero School not enough for you? Maybe we should up your training a bit so you don't slack off."

Shinra inhaled through his teeth, withholding a groan. "As much as I'd love to get my butt kicked all around the dojo, I'd like to have some time to relax." That caught Yoko's attention. The teen had never turned down a chance to let loose. Unless something stupid had happened to him at school or-

Oh...

"How are you feeling, Shinra?" The elder woman adopted a softer tone. She recalled what day was coming up.

The movie had already reached passed its intro, leaving Yuma absorbed in the story while Shinra's eyes closed. "Good enough, I guess. But the nightmares are back again. And I nearly lashed out at some of my classmates earlier." He answered truthfully, his voice a whisper as to not disturb his sister. The warp-user thought back to Jiro and Yaoyorozu, how they had somehow manage to rile him up with slander he had grown accustomed to over the years. Usually he'd just laugh along with it, not really finding the truth to be hurtful at all. Yet he was feeling geared up and ready to smear someone's face into a wall.

He managed to feed that part of his hunger later in his match, but still.

It usually took a bit for him to get to that point.

"I already asked off on Monday." Shinra admitted.

"I hope you don't plan on staying at home all day and moping in your room." Yoko accused, but it didn't really have any bite to it. "That wouldn't help anything except leave your stupid ass bitter all week." As much as the two liked to bicker back and forth, that was just their familiar dynamic and it only broke tradition when Shinra was in a vulnerable state. Like any caring guardian-figure should, Yoko wasn't new to showing her heart when the teen needed it.

"Don't worry, I plan on spending the day with Yuma and Himiko if I could. I know when I shouldn't be alone."

That caught Yuma's attention as she took a moment to look away from the screen. "But don't I have school on Monday?"

"You do." Shinra nodded with a small smile. "But you can spend the day with me if you want."

"Where are we going?"

"We'll figure that out on Monday, but I'm thinking... the beach?"

"Yes!" The child cheered with a raised fist in the air. "I get to skip school!"

"Once. You get to skip once." Yoko reminded with a sigh, making Shinra laugh. "You're such a bad influence on her."

"Little ol' me? A bad influence? Noooo." Shinra gave an innocent smile. Obviously the faux smile didn't work on the elder. "If anyone is a bad influence, it's Himiko. She's been sneaking Yuma cookies before bed." Hearing that, the smaller girl stopped in her cheers and gave a nervous laugh. Shinra pinched her cheek with a flat smile. "Yes, I've known for while now. Which means she's gonna be in trouble too. No more sweets for 5 days." Yuma let out a groan and crossed her arms, her happy mood ruined as she purposely leaned back with enough force to make Shinra's nose throb from impact. "8 Days."

"Oh come on!"

"Want it to be 10?"

"... No?"

"I thought so."

The whole family knew how obsessed with sweets Yuma was, so it was only right for that to be her punishment. And Shinra had already figured out one for his girlfriend too, which he obviously can't say aloud in front of his audience. His sister and landowner don't need to know much about his sexual life, especially when he plans to ban her from blood for a week. Although he was pretty sure Yoko had an inkling on their special activities.

"Speaking of Himi, where is she?" Shinra asked.

"Out getting groceries." Yoko answered coolly.

It was no surprise that Yoko didn't exactly have a positive outlook on the blonde, but she was perfectly fine allowing her to take residency under her name. The old lady knew her presence had helped Shinra's development exponentially, always managing to break him out of his depression episodes. Hell, Yoko would even consider the blonde a blessing in disguise, keeping the boy alive at least. Even if the girl gave her the creeps from time to time.

Her and her damn cat-like eyes in the dark.

"Well, as long as you got a plan. If I find out you've been lazing around, I'mma kick your ass into the hospital." The retired-hero sighed as she turned her eyes to the television. "And another thing." She didn't have to look over to see the teen glance at her. "I think it's time to pick up your sword training, when you have the time. You've been... slacking off on it for a while."

Shinra hummed to himself, but didn't really react. "... I'll think about it." He had a faraway look in his eye.

He still never told her.

But he had a feeling she knew.

Flashback... (9 Years Ago)

He wasn't sure how many times they've gone through this so called 'training'.

The boy had lost count months ago and for a while, they had lessened bit by bit. He didn't voice it aloud, but he was grateful for whatever cosmic intervention blessed him for the peace.

And cursed whatever monster took it away from him.

Shinra rolled across the ground, coming to a painful stop when he hit the wall across the room.

"Why...?" An angry voice growled out as heavy footsteps grew closer. "Why the hell are you so goddamn useless!?" His father sneered as he picked up his son by the shirt, dragging him against the wall and held him up. The boy's body quivered, from pain or the crying, the man didn't care. Shigenori gritted his teeth as his face got closer. "Where's your power, boy? Huh!? I saw the x-rays! You have a quirk in there somewhere!" Shinra could smell the awful stench of alcohol practically oozing off the man in front of him.

All he had been doing was sleeping in his room until he was woken up by doors slamming and screaming between his parents. At first, Shinra didn't dare leave the safety of his blanket. Even if the voice of his father increased. Even if the smack of something hitting flesh echoed through the house. Even if his mother was crying in another room. He didn't leave his bed.

That was, until his father barged into his room with a frustrated expression and said "Get your ass up. We're trying again."

Which is what brought him to now. His father had long since given up on teaching his son basic self-defense techniques. Now... now the man was getting desperate. He never knew how much his father drank until he noticed the fridge filling up with the same type of drink. Only building up whenever his career began to weigh down on him too much. And from the drunken rage in front of him, it seemed like this was one of those nights.

Shigenori needed his usual outlet.

An outlet he convinced himself was helping his own son.

"I..." Shinra hiccuped as he strained to look at his father. His eyes were swollen from the earlier hits and the tears didn't make it any easier. "I don't... have a quirk..."

The hand that held him up, slammed him against the wall. "Stop lying to me!" His father barked.

Tears spilled down Shinra's cheeks. "I-I... I'm n-not-"

A punch flew at his face, breaking the child's nose. "I said-" Shigenori snarled as he hit his son again and again and again. "Stop! Fucking! LYING TO ME!" Shinra's legs shook from each blow to the head. The boy could only see, smell and taste red copper as his father continued to assault him. "I know you have one! The pinky joint doesn't lie, Shinra!" Stopping himself from smashing his son's head in, the fist stopped just before hitting him again. Shaking as his anger built, Shigenori narrowed his eyes as he slowly took hold of Shinra's neck.

"8 generations... Our clan has been proud to never ONCE have a quirkless child born in the 8 generations since quirks originated!" One single hand held up the child by the neck. Shinra choked for air, his hands weakly clawing at his father's skin to get away. He only felt the grip increase. "Why did it have to be you? Why is it that my son has to be born a fucking failure!?" He slammed him again. Furious golden eyes bore into him. "I refuse to bear this shame! So where is it!?"

"F-Father... I'm s-s... so-rry..." Shinra's voice strained to even be heard.

"Where is it?" Shigenori sneered.

"... rry..."

"Where is it, Shinra!?" His father barked again, reeling back his fist for another punch.

Then he saw it.

For a second, he saw golden sparks pop around his arm.

They fizzled out like weak fireworks.

But it was there!

The struggling stopped and the man watched as the small hands fell from clawing at his wrist, hanging down at the sides of his son. With a 'tch!', Shigenori released his hold and tossed his son to the floor. The impact of his head hitting the wooden floor had given Shinra a jolt, bringing back his awareness. The dad watched as the child took heavy choked gasps of air, choking and spitting blood out on the floor.

"I'm... sorry..." Shinra apologized, barely audible. "I'm... not... a failure... P-Please... I'm not... I'm... sorry..."

Shigenori just stood in silence, listening to the shaken breaths.

"We'll see about that."

Shinra heard the footsteps move away from him.

Confused, the boy mustered whatever strength he had to crane his head upward. He watched his father make his way to the door. Silently turning the knob and stepping out of the room, the father had left his broken child on his own. It was silent for a minute until he heard the footsteps coming back, along with his mother's confused and raising voice following after.

"Shigenori-kun, w-what are you doing!?"

That's when Shinra watched his father return with a sword in hand. Following behind him was a pregnant blonde woman, her pink colored eyes wide with fear and panic. "I will not have a failure as a son! No more!" Shigenori's shout stirred raw fear in Shinra and the boy's heart rate skyrocketed at the first step towards him. His little legs kicked at the floor, trying to find whatever strength he could to get away.

His mother, Hana, was quick to latch onto her husband's clothing. "Stop! You're not thinking clearly! You're DRUNK!" Her panicked cries only seemed to make the man angrier as he whirled around and punched her in the cheek. With a cry, she stumbled back into the hallway and Shigenori quickly slammed the door in her face. The woman had rushed back to her feet, reaching for the knob and felt her heart drop in her stomach when she realized Shigenori locked it.

Her fist pounded on the door and her voice screamed. "Please, Shigenori-kun! He's a child! Stop this!" Hana took a step back and charged the door, slamming into it with her shoulder. "SHIGENORI-KUN!"

"All you need is a little push..." Shigenori slurred as he gripped his sword in hand and readied himself. If this didn't work, nothing will, Shigenori thought. With a steady inhale through his nostrils, the Pro Hero placed his feet in a stance.

"P-Please...!" Shinra coughed out a cry, his swollen eyes wide. He wobbled on his two feet, falling on his rear until his back hit the wall.

"Just a little more!" His father called out as he dashed forward, lunging with his sword.

The door behind him cracked.

Shinra closed his eyes and raised his arms over his face. "STOP!"

There was spark, then a thunk against the wood.

Then it was silent.

...

Shaking, Shinra cracked open an eye and didn't see his father anymore. He was alone in the room.

His heart pounded in his chest, leaving his ears drumming. He felt something drip atop of his head. He looked up and fell back with a startled cry. His father was gone, but all that was left was his sword and the right hand that grasped it. Blood leaked from the wrist, a clean tear through the flesh and bone.

The scream bubbled from his throat just as his mother broke down the door. "Shinra-kun!"

"Shigenori-kun, please-" The blonde woman breathed rapidly, the adrenaline running through her veins as she rushed into the room. Her eyes scanned the room, looking for any sign of her drunken deranged husband. Pink eyes widened to saucers when she spotted her child, crying and screaming as he stared at the severed hand above him; the sword sticking out of the wall only inches above his head.

"S-Shinra...?" Hana started, scared out of her wits. "Where is your father?"

He couldn't answer.

The mother quickly rushed to him and scooped him up in her arms. She pushed her son's face into her shoulder, keeping him shielded from seeing the hand any longer than he already had. But it didn't stop her from looking. It was all that was left of her husband.

A bloodied hand.

"It's... it's gonna be okay, Shinra-kun." Hana took a shaky breath as she felt the tears prick at her eyes. "I promise."

As soon as she began making her way to the door, she grabbed the doorknob and heard a spark.

Whirling on her heels, the pregnant mother looked back in horror.

The hand and sword were gone as well.

Days Later: Monday... (3:52 am)

Shinra shot up from his sheets.

His eyes were wide, yet unfocused until he soon came to realize where he was. "Fuck, man..." He muttered angrily as he gripped at his blankets. He heard a sleepy groan at his side and glanced down. A single yellow eye glared at him in annoyance, but there was still a hint of care and worry in her pupil. Shinra sighed as he put his hand on her head, slowly running his fingers through her hair.

"Sorry Himi, I..." He stopped when she placed a hand over his.

"There's no need to apologize, darling." Her words were slurred due to being woken up in the middle of the night. But the emotion was still there. "We've gotten through this before, we'll get through this again." Himiko then huffed. "Although I wished it was later in the morning instead of whatever fucking time in the middle of the night. But it's whatever, I'm always here to help."

Shinra nodded slowly, a small smile gracing his lips. "Thanks, Princess. Where would I be without you?"

Himiko practically purred at being called Princess, loving it every time he called her that. "Knowing you? Dead under a bridge." She giggled, straight to the point. Shinra didn't deny it. "Run it by me again." Himiko already knew everything there was to know about his childhood. There was no detail left out, nothing left forgotten. But it helped him release the stress. She was his outlet; his safe haven.

This was their dynamic.

As if he was on autopilot, Shinra stared at the wall and spaced out. "Father was trying to... 'train' me again. I was 7 He was beating me. Punching me. Kicking me. He was trying to kill me. He kept calling me a failure." Himiko's hand entwined with his. "I'm not a failure... But I was quirkless. He expected more from me. He couldn't live with the fact that I existed. I was trying my best. I wasn't a failure. He brought out his sword." He held onto her hand tightly. "Mother was screaming at him, trying to stop him from going too far. I thought he was actually going to kill me this time. He disappeared. I made him disappear... It was the first time I used my quirk. After that, things started to quiet down..."

Just like he had practiced, he took steady breaths. In, 4 seconds. Out, 4 seconds.

Himiko's thumb rubbed the back of Shinra's hand. "You feeling better, hun?"

"... Yes. Thank you."

"Good." Himiko yawned. "Now come back to bed. It's way too fucking early."

Once he felt his heartbeat finally calm down, the white-head layed back down on the bed. Having her pillow back, Himiko quickly latched onto her boyfriend and rested her head on his chest. She let out a soft hum of delight when Shinra caressed her back under the sheets. "That's it." She purred.

She was beginning to fall back to sleep under the affectionate touch until Shinra spoke. "It's that day."

"Yes it is." Himiko replied softly, eyes still closed.

"Not my parents." Shinra said softly. "Us. Today's the day we met."

Himiko's head lifted up. "Oh yeah, it is." That cheshire grin came full force as she reached up and caressed his cheek. "Today's the day I took control of your life." It was an anniversary they'd never forget for the rest of their lives. As if fate dictated it, they had met as kids and stuck to each other like glue. As much as it was a day to remember his parents, it was a day to celebrate with Himiko as well.

A bittersweet start to a loving story.

Flashback... (6 Years Ago)

His eyes were dull, having lost the energy to care a long time ago.

It was the anniversary of Shigenori's... accident.

It's been 3 years since that day.

The day his father attacked him for the last time.

The day he disappeared and nobody had been able to find him since.

He was 10 now and ever since that incident, life never seemed to get any better. In fact, it had gotten worse.

Investigations were held by the police to find his missing father. But they didn't get far. There were no viable clues to go off of. All there was were the blood stains of his father's hand and the bile mixed blood of his own across the floor, with the pierced hole in the wall from the sword. News had spread about the sudden disappearance of the Blink Hero like wildfire, leaving only confusion in its wake.

Hana hadn't spoken much about the incident. Even from numerous sources trying to get answers out of her, she was too afraid to reveal anything. All she told the hospital and police was that a villain had attacked their family that night, injuring Shinra and kidnapping Shigenori. The detectives had been skeptical about it, obviously noting that the clues and evidence didn't add up.

But the only reason they had stopped pressing her about it was because the stress had been eating away at her, nearly causing her to lose the baby multiple times.

But after Yuma had been born, Shinra had noticed the significant change of his mother. It was slow, but the changes were there.

She had began to avoid him in favor of his new sister. As if she was scared of him. He had been persistent enough to keep asking for her attention, pushing her more and more until she finally snapped back at him. She had yelled at him one night, smacked him and that's when things were set in stone. Once Hana had realized she brought harm to her own child, the fear built up again before she slammed the door in his face, leaving Shinra to dwell with his new situation.

His mother had attacked him like his father did.

He didn't cry when it happened. But the emotions didn't last long. In fact, they had stopped for a very long time.

After that, Shinra had stopped talking to his mother. Even after her apologies, attempts to spoil him and make him happy, he never once smiled or spoke around her. He had distanced himself from her so much that his mother resorted to drinking.

Just like his god forsaken father.

More and more, he found bottles of alcohol hidden in her room until they began appearing around the house. She began to stink like him. Her words began to slur like his. She began to get angry like HE did!

And as her anger built, Shinra's resentment only grew worse.

Eventually she started drinking less, but didn't stop. The guilt ate away at her until she took on smoking. Whenever she was around him, the room went rank with cigarette smoke or alcohol. Sometimes both. And soon after, the blame started shifting towards him. Her fear of disappearing turned into hateful spite, sorrow for losing the man she loved to her first-born.

She never hit him again after the first time. But the words left more of a scar.

Evil.

Liar.

Murderer.

Failure.

It was a wonder why she never went public with what happened, but Shinra didn't care. He wanted out. He wanted to be away from her, but even he knew nothing would get better on his own. So he lived with it. The blame, the guilt, the anger, the resentment. He lived in her home day by day until one of them finally snapped under pressure.

On the exact day his father was whisked away, his mother drunk off her ass, stumbled into his room early morning apologizing for how she's treated him. The guilt came full force, tears turned into rivers, words turned into choked sobs, her hands grabbing at his shoulders. She cried and cried, apologized for what seemed like hours, only to get a blank stare from her child. No words, no reaction, no emotion.

Shinra had just stared at her until she let go of him.

Then, all he had to say was, "Please leave me alone."

That was how their morning went. All emotions and regret thrown out the window, his mother had left him alone for the day like he had asked. He remained in his room, either asleep, reading, or staring at the walls until he wanted out. As soon as night rolled over, he had been ready to sneak out like he usually did at night until he heard a loud bang from his mother's room.

And that's how he found himself staring numbly at the sight in front of him.

His mother was on her back with a shotgun in one of her hands, half of her head blown off from the jaw up. Blood and brain matter stuck to the ceiling, falling down on her body like clumpy red raindrops. The poor woman had committed suicide under her own pressure.

Beside her on the bed cover was a slip of paper.

All it read was "I'm sorry." written over every inch of the page with tear stains all over it.

In the corner of the room, his little sister was wailing and crying in her crib.

He didn't go near her. He didn't even spare a glance.

He didn't care for neither his mother's corpse or the baby.

He walked out of the room, out of the house and went to his normal spot.

Shinra found himself at a playground, sitting on a swing as he looked up at the sky.

He had always liked looking at the stars. There were so many throughout the sky, like a black ocean with full moon as it's eye. The night sky would always be the one to calm him down after his sessions with his father or the neglect from his mother. It was silent, but relaxing to not have to think about anything. Or it was silent, until he heard the sirens in the distance. From the direction he came from.

His 'home'.

Thinking of the word had always left him feeling bitter. Home was supposed to be safe. A place he could be happy. Why couldn't he have what others had?

He took a slow breath.

As a child, he spent more time thinking than doing. He didn't want to do anything. He wasn't good enough for it anyway.

Shinra was a failure.

Shinra was useless.

Shinra was a curse.

But Shinra wasn't powerless.

If anything could be taken with a grain of salt, it was that maybe his father had been right in some way. He was a late bloomer. Maybe it did actually take a near death experience to shock it out of him. Was he happy about it? No. Did want this power? No. Would he have given up his quirk if it meant having an actual family? He wasn't sure. It was always a loop to think about it.

He was quirkless and it made his father angry.

He wasn't quirkless and it made his mother scared.

He had his power and now lost both of his parents.

Shinra halfheartedly kicked himself forward on the swing, barely trying to make momentum for himself. He didn't like talking as much as before, but his thoughts never truly stopped. He was used to it by now. Recurring thoughts, but never an answer that could solve his problems. He could've ran away. But he would've been brought right back eventually, on a tighter leash. He could've tried to get rid of his mother. But then he wouldn't have anyone to take care of him. Once, he believed death could've been a proper answer...

Another breath to clear his head.

The boy just settled for kicking himself back and forth. Perfectly content with enjoying the silence.

"Hello." A small voice cut through the silent air.

Shinra looked from the sky and spotted a small blonde hair girl with a large sweater that went down to her knees. He was a little put off that he didn't see or even hear her approach him. "What are you doing here?" She asked with a tilt of her head. Shinra didn't say anything, only settling for staring into her yellow eyes. The girl hummed as she put her hands behind her back, rocking back and forth on her heels. "... Can I join you?" Again, Shinra said nothing, but the girl didn't take it as a 'no'.

The quiet child just watched the girl take the swing next to him. "My name is Toga Himiko." She said, a wide smile splitting her face as she grabbed onto the chains at her sides. Her teeth had larger than normal canines. "What's yours?"

...

Himiko pouted as she rocked her legs back and forth. "It's rude to ignore people, ya know."

...

It was already strange enough for him to be out this late on his own, but to see another kid his age was a little bit interesting. Interesting enough for him to speak up. "... What are you doing here?" The white haired child asked in a monotone voice. His eyes never wavering as he stared at her. If Himiko was bothered by it, she didn't show it. But knowing that she finally got a response had the girl doing a small victory dance.

"Answer me."

Himiko stopped dancing on her swing and her smile froze. "I wanted to have fun."

"Fun?"

"Mhm." Himiko nodded. "Whenever my parents go to sleep, I like to sneak out and run around."

Shinra blinked. "And they don't get mad at you?"

"... They do." Himiko confessed. "But I still like doing it."

"Why? If you know they get upset, why keep doing it?"

"Because it makes me feel free."

A strange feeling bubbled up in Shinra's chest. Anger? No. Jealousy? Shinra had always done the same thing, but he never felt free. He always knew he'd have to go back home. He knew it was a lie on repeat. "What does that mean? How does that feel?"

Himiko giggled into her hands. "You ask a lot of questions, ya know?"

Shinra didn't visually react, but there was an urge to smile. He had forgotten how it felt to talk to someone new. Everyone at school hadn't cared much about him until they realized he wasn't powerless. He didn't need more liars in his life. He didn't need people that cared more about his powers than him himself. But this Himiko, was a fresh experience. "I... I don't talk much to people."

Himiko let out a long, happy sigh as she leaned far back on the swing, using her legs to balance out her weight. She gazed up at the stars. Her eyes twinkled along with them. "It's always fun to just run around, not knowing where I'm going. But even when I go home, I can do it again the next day. And the next day! My parents don't really like what I can do, so they don't like me leaving the house. But I don't care! I wanna be free."

"And what can you do?"

"Can I bite you?" Himiko was quick to ask, her head shooting towards her new friend like a blur.

Caught off guard, Shinra hesitantly nodded. "... Yes?" He wasn't sure why he even agreed, but a part of him didn't want to decline and upset his new companion. He went along with it, watching Himiko excitedly hop off the swing and grab his right hand. Placing the palm against her face, Shinra winced when her sharp teeth pierced the skin between his thumb and pointer finger. "O-Ow! Hey!" He pulled his hand away and backed away, obviously angry at how much it hurt.

Then he saw her.

White globs of mucus built over Himiko's face, half of it, and two different shades of gold/yellow blinked back at him. White hair stopped halfway before becoming blonde, a deep golden eye matched her glowing yellow eye, and pale skin went in contrast with her blushing cheek. That's when Shinra realized that he was looking at half of a reflection of himself. "See? Now we're the same!" Himiko's demented smile between two faces giggled as she pulled one of Shinra's arms. "I'm you now!"

Shinra just stared.

Himiko's excitement faltered as the anxiety started to come in. She let go of his arm and took a step back. "Y-You don't like it...?"

But it didn't scare him.

No, in fact, Shinra found it funny. For once in a long time, the muscles in his face pulled into a smile as the boy laughed. "That's so cool!" He exclaimed as he grasped both sides of her head. Himiko's cheek flushed as Shinra stepped close to look at his half of her face. "It's just like me! How can you do that?"

"I-I can bite people and I can turn into them." Himiko stammered, but she was feeling the excitement too. "You like it?"

"Of course I do!"

"Really!?" The blonde girl gasped as she grabbed his arms. "D-Do you wanna be my friend!?" She exclaimed out of nowhere, eyes wide and hopeful.

That's when Shinra paused. He lost his smile and took a step back. "You wouldn't want someone like me hanging around you. All I do is cause trouble." The way he said it was obviously pained. Like he had just lost all reason to be happy, he remembered why he never got rowdy and excited around other people like he used to. "My quirk... isn't all that good." She was just gonna treat him different, just like his parents did. Just like his classmates did.

"I don't care." Himiko declared. "We're friends."

"I can't be your friend."

"Why not?"

"I scare people. And I can't control my power too well."

"Then let's scare people together." Himiko took a step forward and stared hard into Shinra's eyes. As passionately as she was before, the girl had a determined toothy grin as she grabbed hard at Shinra's sleeves. "You're not scared of me. And I won't be scared of you. So let's be free together! As long as we have each other, we can do anything!" Shinra didn't know what to say. He was always used to being pushed away, neglected. He didn't know how to properly respond.

"... You're weird." He said aloud. It was the first thing he could think of. But he smiled.

Himiko wasn't bothered by it at all. "And you're boring."

"No I'm not!"

"Yes you are." The blonde teased.

"Am not!"

"You so are!"

They went back and forth, just like that. Laughter filled the air as they teased each other, but there was no heat behind it. For once in a long time, Shinra felt free. And happy. The duo had returned back to their swings, talking about random things to make each other laugh. It went like this for a couple minutes, until Shinra placed his feet on the swing and stood up higher. "Hey, Himiko... do you like your family?" Shinra asked quietly.

The little girl blinked. "Of course I do. But..." She paused for a moment, her eyes drifting to the side. "I don't think they like me very much."

"Is it because of your quirk?"

"... yeah." She answered in a mumble, her cheeks puffing into a pout. It trailed off there. Seems like she didn't want to talk much about it. She was quiet for a moment before she looked at him. "What about you?"

"I don't have one." Shinra said bluntly. A bit too quick and without a care in the world. "My father is gone and my mother just killed herself." Even now, Shinra could picture his mother in his mind. How the room reeked with alcohol and blood. "They didn't love me. Or they wouldn't have hurt me." His voice dropped to a whisper at the end, but Himiko caught it easy. She saw a distant look in his eye, but she could spot the disdain dancing in his eyes.

"Do you have any siblings?" Himiko asked gently. "I have an older sister, but she gets everything."

"Little sister. Only a year old."

"So you do have family!" Himiko exclaimed.

Shinra scoffed. "She's a baby. And she's annoying."

"Family is still family!" Himiko said with a matter-of-fact tone. She wagged her finger. "Don't you still want a family you can love?"

Shinra stopped to think about it. For the longest he wanted his father to treat him with love. But all he remembered was the beatings, the yelling and hate. Eventually he just wanted him to stop. And he never did. Until he disappeared that night. His mother, on the other hand, had showered him with love until the accident happened. Her love turned into fear and resentment. Her hugs stopped, her smiles were forced. She was just like his late father. She wanted her husband back over him.

Shinra's hands grasped the chains tighter.

With a shaky breath, he answered. "... Y-Yes. I always wanted a family."

Himiko saw how much the boy was struggling. There were tears building up in his eyes, but he didn't dare cry. He wasn't a baby anymore. She reached over to place a hand on his back. "You have your sister, right? She doesn't hate you."

Shinra inhaled through his teeth and wiped the tears from his eyes. "You don't know that. She'll end up just like everyone else."

"I don't hate you." Himiko retorted with a small smile. That was the truth. She was the first friend he's had in years. "And I know she won't. As long as you love her, she'll love you. Isn't that what you want?"

"I-I don't know if I can..."

"All you can do is try." She suggested with a nod. "Love and family is all we need. People who love you, don't leave you. And, well," Himiko took hold of his hand. Shinra looked at her with curious uncertainty. "If that doesn't work, at least we have each other. We're friends now. And friends have each other's back. We can be family too if you'd like?" This was nearly too much for him to handle. Shinra was trying to grasp what she was offering, wanting more than just a wish. This was an opportunity-

"Uh..." Himiko furrowed her brows as she let go of his hand, taking a step back. Before Shinra could ask what's wrong, the girl pointed a finger behind him. Following her example, the boy turned and spotted a police cruiser pulling up at the sidewalk. When she pointed at the officers exiting the car, Shinra already knew the reasoning. "They're looking for me." He said with mutter. Someone must've tipped them off about where he could've gone.

He hopped off the swing. "I'm sorry."

"That's okay." Himiko giggled. She patted his arm. "We'll see each other again tomorrow!"

"Are you sure?" Shinra asked, perplexed.

"We're friends, aren't we?" Himiko reminded yet again as she started stepping away. She didn't like being near any police officers, especially one that was getting closer by the second. "I'll be here again tomorrow. Because that's what friends do. No," Himiko paused before grinning. "That's what family does!"

"Shinra."

"Huh?" Himiko paused in her step.

Shinra smiled as one police officer placed a hand on his shoulder. "My name is Nobu Shinra." He said, as the second police officer tried calling out for Himiko. The blonde squealed at the reveal before she gave a thumbs up and took off fast, catching the officers off guard with how quick she could move for a child. "I'll see you soon!" Shinra shouted after her, watching her back disappear over a fence and through an alleyway.

"Come on, son." The first officer spoke softly. "We need to take you home."

"Okay."

Present Time...

Ever since that day, the two had been inseparable.

When the police had found Shinra at the park, he soon learned that his neighbors had been the ones concerned over the never-ending crying from his sister and alarms started going off when they spotted the horrific splotches of red matter all over the walls. As hectic as the situation was, Shinra was never taken into custody by the officials. He was never separated from his sister or his home.

The one who managed to save him was Yoko, who at the time had recently retired from her hero career and retired into being a landowner.

The old woman had decided to take the two kids under her care under an old favor from Hana. Apparently at some point, his mother had begun feeling self-conscious about her abilities as a proper mother. Her addiction, her declining mental instability. In one of her rare moments of sober clarity, she had reached out to her landlord in tears and vented about her troubles. Being close friends, only introduced by his father and business, Yoko had swiftly made the promise. She had been one of the first to see the toxicity from the Flicker Hero, but did nothing more than offer advice she had hoped Hana would follow.

In the end, the retired hero had accepted her newfound role as guardian with grievance once she realized what had occured. She said nothing once she saw the body. Years in active duty had steeled her nerves in the worst situations, but it didn't stop her from crying behind closed doors. But she did what she was asked.

It was rough at first, having no parents. But Shinra didn't seem to show signs of aggression or depression. More and more, Yoko had found the boy smiling. It was a slow start, but he had been active in taking care of his sister. As well as using his powers when he thought she wasn't aware. She couldn't stop him. All she could do was hope the boy always made it home. And he always did.

With a bigger smile than he'd ever have at home.

Soon enough, Yoko had found out he'd been sneaking out to hang out with Himiko at night.

Of course, the guardian knew how dangerous and risky it was to be a small child going out late nights. But she saw how happy he was becoming.

How he was becoming like a normal child should.

So she did what any normal parent-figure would. She sat him down, told him the risks of sneaking out. Yoko told him she was willing to let Himiko come over or him hang out with her sometimes during the day, as long as he told her about it. He sparked with excitement she'd never seen from him before and that was the deal.

As the years went by, Shinra's use with portals continued, his spirits were lifted, and his bond with his sister solidified. He never bothered making new friends at school and would quickly quiet down when strangers would appear around him. As much to Yoko's endless frustration, she had been called in dozens of times when Shinra got involved with another fight at school. He just didn't like others. He was simply satisfied with Himiko and Yuma in his life until he finally warmed up to Yoko as well. Eventually, he gave his guardian proper thanks for taking them under her care.

All he ever wanted had actually happened.

All because the blonde misfit in his arms had given him the spark of hope and an illusion of a future that they turned into a reality.

Shinra couldn't stop the smile from growing as he hugged her tighter. "Time sure does fly, hm?"

Himiko was nearly close to completely falling asleep, but the girl was thinking back to their youngers days with a nostalgic smirk. "I still can't believe the old hag actually let me live with you two." Honestly, even now, he was still surprised about it too. Back when they were 13, Toga's family had officially abandoned her and the two kids had come crying to Yoko about having the blonde stay.

At first, it was a hard decline, but Yoko eventually caved in when Shinra mentioned that Himiko was his only legitimate friend. Someone he had actually tried to build with as a person. So the old hero decided to trust her gut. And Yoko wasn't going to risk a relapse in the young boy either.

And so through enough paperwork, Himiko had been officially adopted under Yoko's care as well.

"It's a real good thing we weren't adopted as actually part of her family." Shinra mentioned with cheeky smile.

"Why?" Himiko mumbled, writing imaginated nothings into his chest. "Not into the step-sibling kink play?"

"Nah, more like your sister would detest having me as a sibling."

"She'd probably find you cute." Then Himiko let out a long, dreary sigh. "I'm getting close, I just know it. And I'm gonna find her."

"And when you do, I hope I'm alongside you. I bet it'll be fun to watch."

"Maybe. It just feels kinda personal compared to Ma and Pa, ya know?"

"Well considering we were kids, we couldn't really do much dealing with them." Shinra huffed. He was still miffed about it. He felt Himiko scoot up to kiss him on the nose.

"I know. I wanted to make them hurt too, but it's too late now."

- Can you meet me at the playground? Please, it's important...

He hadn't even opened his phone. That was all he saw when the screen lit up and he was rushing to get dressed.

"Himiko, are you-" He had rushed to their usual spot via portal and he immediately stopped. Shinra wasn't sure how he was supposed to respond when he showed up to the playground and saw Himiko with tears in her eyes. In the few years they've known each other, she never showed the waterworks. She was either peppy, playful, moody or just downright scary. But crying? Shinra didn't know what to do.

"H-Hey, Himi?" He called out her nickname, being careful as he walked up to her.

For a moment, he thought he saw her flinch.

Once Himiko realized it was him, she launched herself from the swing and latched onto him, arms wrapped tight around him like a lifeline. "Shinra..." She tried to speak with her face buried in his shoulder. But he heard it. Her voice cracked and the boy felt her body shake with unsteady breaths. "T-They... they...!"

Shinra hugged her back. Seeing her like this made his heart ache in a way he hadn't felt in a long time. "Who? What's going on?"

"My family... They kicked me out!" The blonde choked out. "I... my urges got too much for me to handle this time. I attacked someone at school... one of my classmates..." Shinra inwardly cursed. It wasn't long until they both talked about their individual powers. His was just making portals that required image memory. Hers... Shinra always felt bad for Himiko when he learned her quirk relied severely on blood. Without a routine intake, she'd get snappy or moody or just flat out lose her mind until things got physical.

"It's okay, Himi." But Shinra wasn't bothered by it. They both had cursed powers. His took his family from him, hers just made people afraid of her. But he wasn't. She was scared to tell him the details about it, thinking he'd end up being like her so-called friends at school who ran off calling her a freak or refused to talk to her anymore. When she realized that wasn't the case, their trust only deepened when the worst of each other was cleared out.

"What happened?" He spoke softly.

Himiko's fingers clenched tightly at his shirt. "I didn't know what happened... One moment I was in class, next thing I know... she was on the ground and my teeth were in her neck... There was so much blood, Shinra..." She was more afraid of how satisfied she was after the act. She had barely registered the screams of other students as she continued drinking. So much red, it tasted so good... Himiko felt worse knowing it was one of the few girls at her school that actually enjoyed her existence.

"When my parents were called, Ma looked at me like I was a monster. She was afraid to get near me."

"And your dad?" Shinra asked, feeling uneasy.

"He... he didn't say anything at the school or on the drive home. I knew he was angry at me, but we got home and..." Himiko hiccuped as she took a step back. When Shinra saw the large bruise over her left eye, his blood ran cold. Her face was so swelled up that her eye struggled to even open. The skin had already split from the abuse, the blood having already began scabbing over. That's when he knew she got hit with all the power a grown man could offer.

For a moment, his father flashed in his eyes and his thoughts just cleared.

"He hit you...?" He said in monotone. Shinra slowly reached for her face and cupped the swelled cheek, earning a pained flinch from his best friend. He could feel his hate growing with every second, a cold burning rage as Himiko nodded slowly. This wasn't the Himiko he knew. This one was frail, scared and confused. His Himiko was full of life, never afraid to speak her mind and take charge. She was the reason he made it this far.

He didn't like this.

He smiled. It was a small, pleasant smile that he usually had whenever they were gonna play a game together.

"Hey Himi," Shinra started off gently as he took his hands off her face and his right hand grasped her left. He started pulling her along as he started walking. "Come stay with me and Yuma."

"A-Are you sure?" Her voice was uncertain.

He did not like this.

"Yeah. I'm sure Granny can hold one more."

Shinra knew what he had to do.

He was going to fix this.

It took a few tries to convince her, but eventually Yoko relented under the pressure. The older woman had seen the large bruise on Himiko's face and even felt a great deal of anger herself, going to the police and filing abuse reports against her parents. As much as the young girl gave off uncomfortable vibes, Yoko wasn't afraid to admit that the girl became family quick within the house.

And once Himiko had gotten used to the newfound safety of Shinra's home, the girl came back with the waterworks. She spewed 'Thank you' and 'I'm sorry' left and right, never spending more than 20 minutes away from the boy. She cried on and on about being a burden, afraid she'd ruin her chances with the boy and his sister with her urges. But Shinra never stopped reassuring her, that as her friend, he'd never stop helping her no matter what it took.

And that's what he did.

Himiko didn't know how to respond when Shinra offered her a hand saying, "Do you want them to disappear?" The boy was completely serious as he held up his hand. "I can fix this, Himi. You don't have to be afraid of them anymore."

"But I love them..." Himiko whispered. She didn't hate her family. Even after her father punched her, that didn't change.

"I was like that too." Shinra admitted with a neutral expression. "I loved my parents, but... Father took it too far. He hurt me. He wanted to kill me and he hurt my mother. My mother abandoned me for years after I made father disappear. Don't let them do that to you." Shinra gestured his hand closer to her. "Do it to them. Do it first. Let me fix this. For you." He whispered, eyes and voice never wavering.

Himiko kept her hands to herself and bit her lip.

"People who love you, don't leave you." Shinra repeated the same words she told him when they met.

...

Himiko took his hand.

After Himiko took his offer, the two children were quick to sneak out when it got dark. And with Shinra's quirk, they were where they needed to be in a blink of an eye.

The two stood outside of Himiko's old home, waiting patiently at the doorstep. The girl was obviously nervous, unsure what type of emotions were running through her at the prospect of seeing her former family. Shinra, on the other hand, was completely silent. But he didn't lose that small smile he had when he saw her bruised and scared. It's been weeks since she's joined his home. And she's gotten better, little by little, but he knew she wouldn't be the same girl he met unless they did this.

"It's okay, Himi. I'll fix this and we can go home." Shinra said again, after knocking and waiting.

When the door had open, the kids found Himiko's mother looking down at them with a hint of confusion.

Until the woman lay eyes on her daughter.

"Hayate!" The older blonde lady suddenly screamed at the top of her lungs, trying to back away from the door and close it on them. Shinra kicked a leg forward as quickly as he could, wincing when the door slammed on his shin. But he stopped them from getting blocked out. His blonde friend hesitantly stepped forward. "Ma...? It's me..." Himiko quivered as she tried to reach a hand forward, only to flinch when her mother shouted for her husband again.

There came heavy footsteps rushing down the stairs and throughout the house. "Mari, what's going-" The big burly man rushed into the hallway and immediately spotted his daughter, side by side with a boy he's never heard before. "You." He growled as he stepped between the kids and his wife. "I told you to never come back here! And who's this? One of your sick friends?" He pointed a finger at Shinra and was caught off guard by the absolute loathing he spotted in the boy's eyes.

"Why did you hit her?" Was all he asked.

"And why should I tell you, kid?" The father, Hayate, sneered as he clenched his hands into fists.

"Because I'm going to fix everything." Shinra said in a whisper, almost as if he was talking to himself. He walked forward with his smile on full display. "Please, apologize to her. She didn't deserve to get hit."

"Get the fuck out of my house!" Hayate roared at the top of his lungs, feeling uneasy just being in front of his 'hell spawn' and unknown child. He wasn't sure where the hell she found him or where he came from, but if he was friends with Himiko, something wasn't right.

"Please! Just leave us alone!" Mari whimpered behind her husband, blatantly afraid to even make eye contact with Himiko.

The blonde girl started to cry at the raised volume of their voices. She felt Shinra take hold of her hand. "It's okay." He said, never once losing that smile of his. With a slow breath through his nostrils, Shinra closed his eyes and concentrated.

"I said, get OUT-" Hayate was about to rush them with his fist raised.

There was the sound of sparks going off and the two adults looked around for the source. "H-Hayate...?" Mari said in frozen fear as she looked down, seeing two lines of gold energy moving along the floor until they connected into a full circle. Himiko's former parents watched as a gateway opened beneath them and before they could say another word, the portal opened with a strong frozen gust of wind while they dropped below.

Shinra opened his eyes as Himiko looked down at the portal.

Squinting through the cold air blasting her in the face, Himiko spotted her parents screaming as they fell on the top of a snow mountain. They stumbled on a small slope, coming to a stop against a firm boulder just on the edge of a steep cliff. Hayate was the quickest to get to his feet, looking around him in disbelief. "You should've said you were sorry." Shinra's voice was barely heard over the roaring winds.

"You can't do this!" Hayate screamed in fear as the portal began shrinking. "H-Himiko! Please!"

The blonde girl just stared at her father before her eyes went to her mother.

Mari was groaning as blood dripped down her face. She looked disoriented as she tried to stand up. Wobbling on her feet, the blonde woman stumbled forward and tried to stable herself against the boulder. Her hand slipped and cut against the jagged ice, causing her to cry out and jump away. Her left foot sunk deeper into the snow than it should've and Mari's eyes widened as her body followed after.

Hayate watched his wife slip off the edge, hearing her scream for his help as she descended.

Himiko couldn't stop her tears from falling, but... she was smiling too.

With rage and horror mixed together, Hayate whirled around towards the portal. "You fucking bi-"

The portal closed, leaving the man alone on the top of a mountain all by his lonesome.

Present Time...

And that became the day of their lives. A benchmark, if you will.

For Shinra, it was a show for himself. To prove to himself that his way was right, that he could remove problems with but a thought. Revenge for another, he believed.

As for Himiko, it granted her a freedom she never knew she needed. Her insecurities were gone, her hate vanished, her anxiety was no more. The happy joy she felt knowing those who wronged her were given their due, left her on a high for days to come. It was like a whirlwind of emotions that she wasn't able to comprehend, but in the end, she was free.

Apparently nobody had been able to find the bodies. The police has had search parties going for weeks, going to months, without finding a single clue as to where Himiko's parents resided. They weren't traced back to Shinra, there was nothing. Even though Sayuri, Himiko's sister, had been trying nonstop in the early stages to pin the blame on her sister.

It was pure chance that she wasn't there that night, instead she was having a sleepover with her high school friends.

Even now, the two were sure Sayuri was still looking for her lost parents. Even if she was disowned, Himiko was asked by the police if she wanted tabs on the whether they found them or not. Himiko knew without a doubt Sayuri was trying to use it as an excuse. Sayuri was definitely trying to look for her parents, but also using it as a cover to keep away from Himiko.

Himiko had been trying to track her down, had been since the start of the year, but to no avail. Sometimes she's come close, she knew, but that was as far as she got.

Still, Himiko was happy she was liberated from the hate of her own family, even if it was 2-out-of-3. For now.

"Thanks, hun." Himiko murmured in Shinra's chest. "For everything."

"I should be saying that." Shinra said softly. He placed a hand on her head, as per usual. He started, "People who love you,"

Himiko finished sleepily. "... Don't leave you..."

"I love you." Shinra cooed, running his fingers through her messy hair. When he didn't get a response, he listened closely and found her breathing had mellowed out into a slower pace. Himiko had quickly fallen asleep. He didn't mind. He was just happy she was awake long enough for them to think about their past again.

Still, sometimes he couldn't believe this was real.

He had long since given up on people years ago, having dealt with the worst his father offered him and the flip his mother gave him. Growing up, all he's seen and heard were travesties people across the world have done. At 10 years old, he had been at peace knowing he committed first-degree murder on his father and wasn't even bothered that his mother killed herself because of her own incompetence.

Even now he could say he had no real regard for human life other than the 3 people close to him.

But he did it.

Because of the sleeping girl in his arms, he was given that opportunity to turn things around.

He found it in his heart to open up again.

He decided to accept Yuma as his family.

He had a reason to actually fight for someone other than himself.

All because of Himiko...

Shinra let out a happy sigh with a grin of his own.

And he managed to repay that debt in blood by offing her shitty parents before they could ruin her life any more. He'd never forget how hurt Himiko was. How scared and insecure she was because of her own parents casting her aside like garbage. He had no regrets. He'd never allow himself to feel such pathetic empathy for living trash. And he'd be a liar if he said he didn't have the same thoughts towards his mother.

He'd never forget the first few.

His father's hand.

His mother's corpse.

Mari falling off the cliff.

Hayate's last scream before he possibly froze to death.

He did what he said he was gonna do. "I fixed it..." Shinra muttered to himself. He felt his eyes growing heavy as sleep pulled him in.

He'd create rivers of blood for his family.

That... was a doozy to type out. I decided to have a chapter for lore dump to get the ball rolling instead of trying to mystery build up that most people do. I hope I made it well enough. Although I had to retype over a good chunk of it because the servers went down at some point and DIDN'T SAVE! So Again, I hope it did well. As you can probably tell, my character isn't well in the head from the get-go. That'll only show more and more through the story.

As for the Neverland reveal... yeah, he has a separate dimension to jump to. No, he's not gonna be broken like Obito from Naruto: Shippuden and no he's not gonna spam it in fights. He WILL have balanced weaknesses in play and I just wanted to add a separate dimension because I feel like it's normal. For a person to make a portal or teleport, there has to be a middle ground realm in between. Or something like that. Just a fun little idea I just wanted to use.

Anyways, so like I said before up top, I'm gonna be in the process of moving so I won't be able to work on things once my wifi is out. So that's why this chapter was as long as it was. Don't expect long ones like this too often. It's a pain.
