I was the last person to wake up in the morning. By the time I had gotten up, the sun was already all the way out. Blinded by the light, I got up out of bed, and headed downstairs.

"Morning sleeping beauty!" I heard Erik say from the table in the corner. "You slept in a little late…"

"Yea, we were just about to leave without you." Jamie added, putting bread on the table.

"Hold on… leave? Where were you…" I yawned, sitting down at the table. "Where are we going?"

"We mined that iron primarily to make iron axes, so today it should all be smelted. We're going to cut down some trees."

I took some bread, still half asleep. "Sounds good." I said slowly.

"Seems like your friend isn't a morning person." Jamie inferred.

"Yea…" Erik agreed.

"If you want to sleep a little more, we can just go without you, I don't really care." Jamie suggested. Taking a bite out of the bread, it helped me to wake up a bit more.

"No, it's alright…" I replied. "I'll come too."

"Well, that settles it. Lets all try and shoot for 5 full stacks today." Jamie announced.

"Wait, 5 stacks of wood planks, or 5 stacks of raw wood?" Erik followed up.

"Raw wood." Jamie replied.

"Oh man, that's going to take forever…" Erik complained.

"There's nothing better to do anyways…" I mentioned it to Erik. "I don't see why not… and since there's 3 of us, we'll probably finish sooner, then we can just screw around the rest of the day."

"Yea, Mike actually does have a point there." Jamie added. "Once we have the wood mined, I don't have anything that I have to do, so we could just wander around."

"Do you have a map?" I asked. "I don't want us to get lost if we actually do go exploring."

"I don't, but I can grab one when we leave." Jamie replied. "In fact, I'll get one for each of you."

"When are we planning to head out?" I asked. I was basically fully awake at this point.

"As soon as you're ready." Jamie replied.

"I'm ready right now…" I said, getting up. "You want me to grab some extra resources?"

"You shouldn't need them, but a little extra couldn't hurt"

"I'll grab some then." I said, heading back upstairs to grab some extra supplies out of my chest. I grabbed a stack of wood planks, an extra crafting table, a furnace and 2 extra axes. Coming back downstairs, Erik and Jamie were waiting for me at the door.

"I'm going to go craft some iron axes in the supply room and we'll be on our way. " Jamie said, opening the door and stepping out. Erik and I followed.

As Jamie entered the storage closet, she opened one of the chests and took several iron ingots out. rummaging through another one, she pulled out some sticks, then tossed some to us.

"Mind crafting some for me so we can get out of here quicker?" Jamie asked.

I took the items. Erik took some as well.

"Sure!" I replied, taking the iron and sticks over to a crafting table.

"If the axes break before we reach the amount we wanted, we'll just call it a day." Jamie mentioned, putting the iron and sticks on one of the crafting tables.

"I have extras for if that happens." I called out.

"Well, I guess that works too." Jamie replied, finishing the last of the axes.

"I got all mine crafted…" Erik said. "Do we need to stock up on food while we're here?"

"Grab a stack or two of steak just in case." I suggested, as I finished up the rest of the crafting.

"All my axes are ready, you need them back?"

"No, those are the ones you'll be using. How much do you two have?" Jamie asked, opening another chest and getting out maps.

"I have 4." I said.

"I got 5." Erik added.

"Great, let's head out then." Jamie said as Erik took some food out of one of the chests.

As we made our way outside, Jamie handed us each one uncrafted map.

"Just open your inventory and stick it in the crafting slot, and boom." She explained. Sure enough, when I stuck the map into the crafting space, it immediately sprung to life.

We started walking towards the forest, ready to clear out some trees.

"Unfortunately the map is unable to show you where other players are, but there is a waypoint feature." Jamie explained. "The village's waypoint is already preset, if you want to create a new one, just tap your player marker on the map twice and it will create one."

"Great." Erik said. "This will come in handy for when I get lost."

"Once we clear out enough trees and whatnot, you guys will be able to get your own place to live in…" Jamie said. "Then we can be done."

"Wait what?" Erik asked.

"You know, with this partnership stuff…" Jamie explained.

"I thought we were…"

"I only agreed to letting you guys live with me because I know how dangerous this server is. You two wouldn't last 2 days without me." Jamie explained. "And it does seem you two want to keep your asses out of trouble, so that's what I'm here for."

"So does this mean you're going to dump us when we get a place to stay just like my dad dumped me off at the orphanage when I was 4?" Erik asked. Jamie couldn't hold in her laughter, and neither could I.

"Holy SHIT that was a good one…" I said, holding out my hand for a high five.

"I wasn't joking…" Erik replied, but high fiving me anyways.

"Oh wow… I shouldn't have laughed that hard…" Jamie added, starting to mine one of the nearby trees.

"What makes it worse is he did it on the way to the grocery store…" Erik added.

"Well, at least he got the milk…" I replied.

"I think he was just going to get a pack of corona. Anyways, let's just get to mining." Erik said, mining another tree close by.

"So Jamie, how dangerous IS this server?" I asked. "You've been here for a lot longer than we have."

"Well, most of the danger player wise is more farther out from spawn. The closer you are to spawn, the more safe you are." Jamie explained. "I've ventured far out and the towns and villages further away aren't always as friendly. I actually witnessed someone getting killed in one of them before."

"Oh damn…" I replied. "Well, this is an anarchy server, but why are people killing each other?"

"Supplies." Jamie responded. "They need them, find people who have them. Then, they either try to trade for them, or they just flat out kill them and then loot them."

"They should know about the whole possible death thing, why aren't they concerned?" Erik added.

"Because if they didn't, they wouldn't survive either. On this server, it's pretty much every player for themselves." Jamie responded.

As we continued to break more and more trees, our inventories started to fill up more. Soon after, I heard something snap.

"I broke my first axe…" Erik said, pulling out another one.

"Based on my experiences in economics class, Anarchy doesn't last long…" I mentioned.

"Well, I am hearing from some people about an uprising group of people trying to turn this server into a dictatorship…" Jamie explained, swinging aimlessly at the nearby trees.

"Well, tell me more about it…" I was intrigued. "Nothing better to do while we're punching trees anyways…"

"This is just from what I hear from other players, but this group is going from village to village, trying to take over them, and when the village refuses to let them take power, they grief them and move on."

"Well then…" I replied. "I guess that's what happened to that village near the server spawn…"

"Wait, what?" Jamie stopped mining.

"When I was mining and whatnot, I met Erik and he was going to lead me to a village to spend the night at, but the village was completely cratered. There was nothing left."

"Oh shit…" Jamie replied. "That means that this village could be next…"

"WE'RE GOING TO GET BOMBED?!" Erik screamed. "WHAT IS THIS PLACE, NAGASAKI?"

"Calm your ass down." Jamie scoffed. "They usually space out their attacks anyways, so it will be a while before we become an object of their interest."

"Do you know for sure that we would be the next ones?" I asked.

"I can't be too sure, the group is sporadic in their order of things, but for now, we're safe. I don't even think the group knows our village exists."

"Have they been going after naturally generated villages only?" I asked.

"I heard one of the richer players on this server had their giant mansion bombed by them just a week ago." Jamie explained. "He lives in a cave now apparently."

"Guess rags to riches didn't play out so well for him." Erik commented.

"You can say that again." I added.

"I don't want to spread misinformation about whatever this group may be, so I'm going to stop talking about it." Jamie insisted.

"Well, what other options do we have?" Erik mentioned. "Tell scary stories?"

"Oh, I know, let's talk about the mystery of herobrine…" I suggested, laughing a bit.

"I got a better one for you." Erik replied. "How about when we finish up the axes we go break all the leaves on the nearby trees!"

"You know what, that's actually a funny prank." Jamie added. "The only problem is the only ones who would believe that herobrine bullshit are 10 year olds."

"It still kills time regardless, let's just do it anyway…" I replied.

"I don't have shears." Jamie replied. "If you actually want to, it will be pretty time consuming."

"We have the whole day, don't we?" Erik said. "Let's have fun on this server for once."

"In fact, let's turn this into a competition." I added. "Whoever can get the most sticks and apples from leaves wins, and whoever gets the least owes us dinner."

"Sounds like a deal." Jamie replied. "I haven't had someone treat me to a meal since I joined this server."

Erik laughed. "You're saying that as if you're going to win."

"Yea, and I will." Jamie replied.

That was enough motivation to get Erik to absolutely go to town on the nearby trees.

"Chill out Erik, you ain't speedrunning this shit…" I said, sparking a little bit of laughter from Jamie.

"I'll bet he's a hardcore dream fan!" She added. We both started laughing as Erik continued to mine more and more trees.

Sooner than I had originally thought, we had used up all of the iron axes and were ready to mine the tree leaves according to Erik's challenge. I didn't really care too much about it, as I was slowly punching the leaves on a bigger tree. Jamie and Erik on the other hand were neck and neck. They were both viciously punching leaves off trees like nobody's business.

"Wow, look at you two." I commented. "You're actually taking this seriously."

I got no response from either of them.

While I was mining leaves off the trees, I noticed something in the distance. Up ahead, there was a mountain with an abnormal tunnel in it. I decided that I would get a little closer to make out what was in the tunnel. As I was approaching it, I noticed a double iron door buried deep into the tunnel, which was lined with mossy and cracked stone bricks. There were redstone torches on either corner near the tunnel's entrance, but there was nothing beyond the two doors to further illuminate the tunnel. As I approached the door, I pulled a torch out and held it to the door to try and see further inside, but to my dismay the tunnel was too long for my torch light to reach the end. Looking behind me, I saw Jamie and Erik still having at the trees.

"Hey Jamie!" I hollered out. She stopped to turn towards me.

"What the hell is this?" I pointed at the tunnel. Jamie came in for a closer look, and so did Erik. As Jamie approached the tunnel, she looked just as confused as I was.

"Huh…" she stated. "I've never seen this tunnel before."

Looking around the outside of the mountain, Erik approached us.

"It kind of looks like this tunnel was made to be bordered up and hidden from view." He suggested. "Maybe that's why it doesn't seem familiar."

Jamie approached the two iron doors.

"My question is, how would you legitimately open these?" She asked herself. "There doesn't seem to be a specific spot for a lever or pressure plate or nothing."

"Fuck you mean legitimately?" I interrupted. "Just grab a pickaxe and break the damn thing."

"Have you heard of non-destructive entries before?" Jamie asked sarcastically. "You should try it."

Jamie approached the two iron doors, holding a torch to one.

"Already looked inside." I said. "It's pitch black in there."

"Say, I have a block of cobblestone." Erik added. "We can craft a lever to try and open the door with."

"I guess so. But the real question is, SHOULD we…" Jamie replied.

"Pass the cobblestone over." I asked, placing a crafting table in the tunnel. Taking a stick out, I placed it on one of the boxes.

"Catch!" Erik said, tossing the block of cobblestone to me. Placing it on the crafting table, it produced a lever, and I immediately placed it on the wall next to the left iron door.

"Wait." Jamie pleaded. "We don't even know what the hell this tunnel leads to."

"Well, let's find out…" I said, beginning to pull down the lever.

"This is exactly how most cliche horror movies begin." Jamie commented. "You find some creepy ass house, or building, or a town, wander into it, and then someone or something kills you. I ain't up for that."

"Come on… clearly, this place hasn't been touched in forever." Erik said. "There's probably nothing in there."

I pulled down the lever the rest of the way, and I heard a metallic noise coming from the door. Giving it a push, the door opened.

"The lever worked…" I motioned towards Erik. taking the lever off the wall however, the door slammed shut, startling me a bit.

"You have to leave the lever in place…" Jamie said.

Placing the lever back, I turned to look at Erik and Jamie.

"Well, are we going in or not?" I asked.

"Sure." Erik answered.

Jamie sighed, pulling out the enchanted diamond sword from last night. "I'm going in first."

"Where did you get that thing?" Erik asked, pointing at the sword.

"Doesn't concern you." Jamie answered, approaching the door. "Pull the lever."

Pulling the lever down, the doors unlocked once again, and Jamie pushed them both open. Pulling out a torch in her left hand, she started to slowly enter the corridor. I followed behind her.

"Got an extra lever?" She asked.

"I can craft another one if the door somehow closes." I replied, as Erik entered the tunnel.

"Damn this place is dark…" Erik exclaimed.

"Stay close." Jamie said, waiting for Erik to catch up. "We don't know what lies here."
