As we trekked across the desert sand, there weren't many mobs in the area. None of them saw us either, which I found strange.

"Why aren't the mobs attacking?" I asked.

"That's a good question." Jamie said as we kept on walking.

"Do you know where we're heading?" Erik asked.

"Like I said, I don't remember this part of the desert. I have to find a landmark or something first."

"I can help you look for it." I offered. "What are we looking for?"

"We're looking for a desert temple." Jamie replied. "And no, there isn't anything in it. It's already been looted."

"I'll be on the lookout." I said, browsing the landscape. The only thing I could see other than the infinite sand, was a small lava pit in the distance.

"Mind passing me some food?" Erik asked.

"You're hungry already?" I replied, tossing him some steak.

"Hey, I mined the majority of the trees." Erik said. "Give me some credit."

"Wait, did he actually?" I asked Jamie.

"He actually did." She responded, walking towards the pit of lava. "I suggest you throw away those two books in this pit."

"And why is that?" I asked, taking them both out to look at another time.

"Because those books belong to the people trying to kill everyone!" She explained. "If someone catches you with those books then they'll fucking kill you, no questions asked."

"It's just a book. It's not like I'm carrying a full stack of TNT minecarts with me." I argued.

"Well, you found it so you do what you want with it. But if I were you, I would get rid of it." Jamie said, taking out the potion she found earlier.

"Why dump that?" Erik asked. "You said it yourself, that could be useful."

"I don't want to take any chances with any of the shit we found at that base. In fact, EVERYONE should throw the base shit into the pit." Jamie insisted.

"Pfft…" Erik said, approaching the pit. "I'll bet you're fun at parties."

"Actually, I've gone to my fair share of parties." Jamie retaliated. "Seems to me like you've been to none."

"Oooooh, burn!" I replied, Erik looking at me with a pissed off face. He pulled out what seemed to be like 10 different items and tossed them into the pit.

"Jesus christ Erik, do you shoplift for a living?" I commented.

"No, but I sure as hell could…" Erik replied. "And by the way, I'm keeping the gold I found."

"Sounds fair, I guess." Jamie replied.

"Say, let's talk more about those parties you went to." I said, trying to spark up a conversation.

"Eh, it's nothing worth talking about." Jamie replied. "Besides, why do you ask?"

"Because I'm curious." I replied. Jamie sighed.

"First "party" I went to was some gaming hangout with my ex-boyfriend. I left 15 minutes later when I walked in on a drunk person jerking off to a portrait of Joe Biden."

"I'm sorry… WHAT?" Erik yelled, laughing his ass off.

"I'll have to admit, that sounds like a fun experience." I added.

"Fun? FUN? It was fucking gross!" Jamie replied. "I'll never fully unsee that and I hate it."

"Well, do you have a good memory from a party?" I asked.

"All the parties I've been to involved drugs or alcohol in some way, so most of my memories of them are sour." Jamie explained. "But on one of those, I decided "fuck it" and had a drink or two, and that gave me the confidence to try and have a go at dancing with one of the boys there. In fact, that's how I met my ex."

"Why is he your ex now?" I asked.

"What are you a school mental health counselor?" Jamie replied. "I'm not sharing every aspect of my life with you two, I've already said enough."

In the distance, I saw a desert temple. "Hey, is that the temple we're looking for?" I said, pointing to it.

"Actually yes, that is." Jamie said, beginning to walk towards it. "Thank you for pointing that out."

"Don't mention it." I said, following closely behind. Looking behind me, Erik was falling a little behind us.

"Hello?" I tried to get his attention. "Earth to Erik?"

"Just looking around." He said, catching up. "Oh, is that the temple we're looking for?"

"Well, if you were paying attention, you would know." I replied. As we got closer to the temple, I noticed that the temple was surrounded by torches.

"Are you the one that put those torches there?" I asked Jamie.

"Uh…" Jamie said, looking closer. "I don't think so." She answered. "I usually take them with me whenever I'm done looting a place."

"Well, that's an awful lot of torches for you to forget to take with you." I said, beginning to count them. "One, two three… four five six se-"

"There's like 10 torches here." I claimed. "Has someone moved in here or something?"

"Why would someone move in here?" Jamie asked. "It's in the middle of nowhere and the temple has no loot in it."

An arrow flew right in between us, almost hitting Erik right square in the face. We all immediately pulled out swords.

"You see where that came from?" I asked, looking around.

"Over there!" Erik said, pointing to the left. Looking in the distance, I saw a skeleton, preparing for another shot.

"Okay, there's three of us, and only one of hi–"

"Yea, we know how this goes, captain obvious." Jamie interrupted. "We charge it."

"On three." I started. "One…"

Another arrow flew by, hitting me in the shoulder.

"Screw the countdown, GET HIM!" I yelled, sprinting ahead of Jamie and Erik towards the skeleton as it was struggling to load up another shot. It was in the midst of pulling the string back, when I landed a swing directly across its chest, knocking it back and destroying all its progress. As he was knocked back, another arrow flew in from the left, knocking it in the head. Turning to the left, it was another skeleton, who had missed their shot on me and hit their friend instead. Knowing what was going to happen, I backed off to watch as the skeleton that just got shot stood up and opened fire on the other one.

"What are you doing?" Jamie asked. "Kill it!"

I pulled out my bow and one single arrow. "Give me a minute."

I could safely assume the skeleton I just delivered a blow to wasn't going to win the fight, so I stretched the string out, and aimed at the other one, just as it was about to take its shot. I was waiting for the perfect moment.

*fling*

As the other skeleton fired its second shot, I took mine. The skeleton's shot hit its intended target, but it wasn't enough to kill it. Charging the other skeleton, I started swinging my sword at it, hoping it would stay focused on trying to kill the other one. The skeleton fired one more shot, killing the other one, then began to aim at me. Putting my sword up against my face, the skeleton fired a shot and much to my dismay, the arrow hit the shimmering blade and bounced off of it. I delivered another swing, so violent, it knocked the skeleton to the ground. Delivering the final blow to the head, the skeleton turned to dust and faded away, leaving nothing but a bone behind. Picking it up, I stashed it into my inventory.

"You okay?" Erik asked, coming closer to me to check out the arrow lodged in my shoulder.

"Yeah, I'm good." I replied, as Jamie approached too. "I'm sure the arrow will despawn or something and the pain will go away soon." taking out some steak, I ate it to fill up my hunger bar and replenish my lost HP.

"How did you know the skeleton would focus on the other one?" Jamie asked, offering some more food. I waved my hand.

"I didn't." I replied. "I just assumed that the mobs would act like they usually do when they accidentally shoot each other."

"Touché." Jamie replied.

As we kept walking further towards the temple, I noticed that there was a piston door installed in the front.

"Yea, someone has definitely made this temple their new home." I said, pointing at the piston door. Getting closer, the piston door opened and someone stepped out.

"Who are you?" He called out.

"We were gonna ask the same question!" I yelled out. As I approached the other player, I saw that he had an enchanted iron sword in his hand. I made sure I was ready to swing mine if trouble stirred up. Jamie pulled out her sword as well, but Erik remained unarmed,

"You first." He said, holding out this sword.

"I'm Mike, this is Jamie, and that's Erik." I said, pointing to my friends. "Now, who are you…" I said, looking at his nametag and skin. "Wait a sec…"

"What?" the player said.

"Are you… Walter White?" I asked, taking a closer look at his skin.

"Uh… yea." He replied. Putting my sword away, I made a rad sign with my hand.

"Shit… I didn't know you were chill like that!" He said, putting his sword away and dapping me up.

"This is just my skin though, my real name is carso–"

"Fuck your real name, I'm calling you Walter White from now on." I interrupted.

"I-uh… okay then, never mind." Walter replied. "So what brings you here in the dead of night? You scared me for a second, I thought you guys were part of the group."

"Group?" I asked, confused.

"You know, the griefers." Walter explained. "I think they call themselves the "Pumpkin heads" or some other shit." He led us to the entrance of the temple. "Please, come in. it's safer inside." looking behind me, I noticed Jamie still had her iron sword out.

"What do you still have that out for?" I asked her. "It's pretty clear the dude is friendly." Jamie ignored me, keeping her sword out.

"I've remodeled this place to be my new home for the time being." Walter explained. "It's a great choice because it's in the desert and this desert biome is known to be abnormally large and far out, so nobody's going to explore far enough to find out this base exists, even if it's not intended."

"Well clearly, your assumption is wrong." I replied. "Because we found it."

"How did you guys find this place?" Walter asked.

"Well, according to Jamie here, she's been here before and looted this place, but that was probably long before you came here, so we were looking for this base to use as a landmark to find our way home."

"You're lost?" Walter asked.

"Yea." Erik replied. "Oh, and we just got attacked by skeletons."

"Well then you'll definitely need to stay the night here." Walter said, going up one of the staircases. "It's more dangerous out here, the majority of mobs that spawn are skeletons and if you run into a swarm of them, it's pretty much game over for you."

"We appreciate the invitation, but we really need to get home. I was supposed to get back to my village before sundown and everyone there is probably wondering what happened to us." Jamie explained.

"Unless you want to get killed, your best choice is to wait it out." Walter said, opening a door and looking into a room. "I can see a bunch of skeletons outside."

Jamie sighed, realizing she didn't really have a choice. "Fine, but where are we going to sleep?" she asked.

"Up the stairs and to the right are bedrooms, but there are only 2 beds, so one of you will have to sleep on the floor." Walter responded.

"Not it!" me and Jamie said in unison.

"Man… Fuck you two." Erik said, storming up the stairs. Me and Jamie both laughed hard.

"Your friend's pretty funny." Jamie said as we walked up the stairs behind him. As we entered the bedroom, Erik looked through his inventory in hopes of finding anything he could place on the floor to sleep on.

"Dammit, the one time I didn't bring a damn bed with me." Erik said, as we got settled down.

"Sucks to suck." Jamie said, plopping down on the bed and passing out almost immediately.

I sat on the edge of the bed and looked out the window behind me. Sure enough, the desert landscape was now swarmed with skeletons.

As I laid down and pulled the covers over me, Erik finally accepted that he'd be sleeping on the wood floor, and laid down right smack in the middle of the room.

"Night assholes." He said, stretching a bit.

"Make sure the silverfish don't bite." I said, snickering a bit.

"I hope your girlfriend hogs all the covers throughout the night and you get no sleep." Erik said, turning to face the wall.

I paused a bit at that thought. "What did you just say?" I asked.

"Nothing." Erik replied.

Staring at the ceiling, I began to think to myself. "Well, this isn't so bad. If every day is like this, I may just make it out alive… then I can sue Dr. Doofen Whatshisname for everything he's got."

Closing my eyes, I tried my best to fall asleep, but to my dismay, I couldn't. Jamie on the other hand, was out like a light. I could hear the rattling bones of the skeletons outside. Looking towards Erik, he seemed to be out like a light as well.

"Shit…" I said to myself. I tried to relax myself more, but that didn't help too much. I took a look around the room. Bookshelves upon bookshelves lined the roof of the room we were in, followed by crafting tables and furnaces on the floor. The room was fairly bland other than that though. Soon, I could feel myself drifting off. As I was in the midst of falling asleep, I felt something touch my side, but since I was too close to drifting off, I dismissed it, not wanting to risk waking up fully and not being able to sleep all night. I let out one last yawn before I drifted off.
