Chapter 28 - I Have Something for You
10:00pm - Tamsin's Apartment
"Hey, I thought you said ice cream time," Bo said as she stared at the blonde who was sitting on the couch reading case files. "Or do you want to read your case files first?"
"Why can't a girl have both?" Tamsin raised her head, smirking at Bo. "You can be a good little Succubus and feed me ice cream, while I'm reading the case files."
"Fine," Bo said, putting strawberries and cherries on the ice cream before drizzling a little chocolate syrup on them. "But, next time I get to be the one who is being fed..."
"I thought you were being fed almost every night," Tamsin said. "Or is that some other hot brunette I've been feeding?"
"Well, if you are feeding some other hot brunette, let me know," Bo said as she sat down on the couch, "'...cause we can definitely have some fun together."
She put her legs on top of Tamsin's thigh and moved closer to the blonde. The Valkyrie pulled a throw from the back of the couch and covered both of their legs, then she went back to reading the files.
"The triple death case, still? All happened in the same community?" Bo asked as she scooped some ice cream and fed it to the blonde.
"Yeah… so far no useful shit," Tamsin said, rubbing her temples lightly.
"You guys still think it's a serial killer?" Bo asked, picking up a cherry and feeding it to the blonde. Tamsin took it between her lips, with a nibble on Bo's finger.
"Actually, we can't even be sure if they are murder cases at all."
"How could they not be murders?" Bo said. "I thought you said one of the victims smashed his head onto the wall till he killed himself, and he was totally not crazy, or suicidal before."
"But, if it's murder, how did the killer do it?" Tamsin said. "We've ruled out mind control Faes, mind control spells, curses, evil spirits and every other shit like that."
"Well, if it's suicide, I guess no one would choose to smash his head to the wall, or stab herself temple with a chopstick… and the last one, well… blowing his head off with a gun is… I guess… common?" Bo asked.
"None of them were crazy, or suicidal," Tamsin confirmed. "We can't figure it out... I mean, we can't find the connections, besides that fact that they all live in the same community and the fatal injuries were all to their heads. Anyway, I'm gonna go to that community and conduct some interviews. Maybe I can pick up some leads there..."
"Do you want me to come with you?" Bo asked, feeding the last cherry to the blonde.
"I thought you said you have some of your own cases to work on?" Tamsin finally decided to put down the case files and take a break.
"Client decided not to pursue, with full payment of course, long story..." Bo said, leaning towards the Valkyrie.
"If you want to come along, sure," Tamsin said. "Maybe you will see something that we don't."
"Then can I have some of my late night snacks now?" Bo whispered to Tamsin, her hands tucking under the blanket.
"Well, let's see if..." Tamsin said as she topped the brunette on the couch, "...you can earn it..."
11:30pm - Tamsin's Apartment
Tamsin dimmed the table lamp on the nightstand so she could read the files without waking up the Succubus who was already asleep. Bo tucked herself closer to the blonde in her dreams, and gripped Tamsin's hand. Tamsin smiled, raising Bo's hand and laying a kiss on it, then she lowered her head and gently kissed Bo's cheek.
Going back to her case files, Tamsin frowned and drowned in her thoughts, trying to find some clue, even if she knew that she had read the files multiple times before, but still, had turned up no further developments.
As Bo moaned softly and curled up a little, Tamsin turned to check the time. She knew she should go to sleep now, because it was already so late. Then, something occurred to her. She went back to compare the files, and murmured. "All three deaths happened in the middle of the night… maybe that's the connection..."
Maybe it was nothing, but Tamsin texted Dyson anyway. Then she turned off the light after she put the case files on the floor. Sliding under the blanket, she took Bo in her arms and held her tight, her face buried in the other woman's hair.
Tamsin never expected things between them would go this far, that she would be so soft on the Succubus, that she would enjoy being with her so much, and that she would care about her so deeply, but it felt amazing having Bo in her arms, and she would never let her go.
8:00am - Tamsin's Apartment
"So, what's your plan today, besides interviewing?" Bo asked, sipping her coffee.
"Running leads on a few other cases, and I have a shit ton of paperwork to do at the precinct..." Tamsin said. "Probably won't finish till midnight, so… I'll come to your place after that?"
"Works for me," Bo said. "And this time you can actually use the door instead of the fire escape."
"Whatever," Tamsin shrugged. "How's your pet taking it anyway?"
"She's fine," Bo said. "Although, she demanded like every detail, so I kinda have to tell her, you know, like how clingy you are..."
"What?!" Tamsin exclaimed, her eyes opening wide and her hands slamming on the table.
"...and, you know, how you followed me around, and how you made your moves on me..." Bo said, drinking her coffee.
"Oh you damn little sex demon, you did not tell your pet that!" Tamsin said. "For the record, you were the one who followed me around!"
"Well, you said you didn't want to participate in the conversation with Kenzi, so I told her whatever I wanted to tell her," Bo said, shrugging.
Tamsin huffed in anger, "Shut the fuck up and finish your coffee!"
"Wow, officer Slamsin is officially pissed," Bo giggled as downed her coffee, her eyes staring at Tamsin.
"You are gonna get punished tonight, Succubus," Tamsin warned.
"Really? What are you gonna do? Tie me up? Spank me?" Bo asked, trying hard not to laugh.
"Ugh!" Tamsin exclaimed, shooting a cold stare at Bo. Then she turned around, facing away from Bo.
Bo chuckled, standing up from her chair. She held the blonde from behind. "You know, I don't mind you being clingy at all."
"I am not clingy!" Tamsin cried out in protest. "And, I never followed you around! Shit!"
Bo smiled, laying a kiss on the back of Tamsin's neck. "Relax, detective, all I told her was..."
"Was what?! That I do your laundry and polish your shoes?!"
Bo chuckled, turning the blonde around. "All I told her was how incredible you are, and how much I love you..." Laying a kiss on the Valkyrie's lips, she was amused to see Tamsin suddenly going stiff.
"Yeah, nice try. Still gonna get punished tonight, succulette," the blonde whispered to Bo, pulling her closer for a deeper kiss.
9:15am - In The Community
"This place feels..." Bo said as she walked out from Tamsin's truck, frowning. She turned around and checked the neighbourhood. She couldn't tell exactly what she was feeling right now, because everything looked perfectly fine with nothing out of the ordinary going on.
"You felt something?" Tamsin asked, with a concerned look on her face.
"No..." Bo murmured. "Just… a little gloomy… I guess?" She couldn't really describe it, but it was like something heavy just dropped on her heart.
"Not enough coffee during breakfast?" Tamsin said, caressing the brunette's furrowed eyebrows.
"Maybe," Bo said. She turned around, trying to take a better look at the community. The houses were mostly old, and not well maintained. For Sale signs were on the front lawns of a few houses, and they looked like they had been there for a long time. Some houses looked like they were condemned, with broken windows and smashed doors. Cars with a lot of wear and tear were parked on the driveways,. Lawns were carelessly mowed, with untrimmed trees everywhere, and roads covered by fallen leaves.
"Not exactly the neighborhood I want to live in, I guess," Bo murmured.
"Honey, you live in a shack, and all your furniture is hauled from… somewhere I don't wanna know..." Tamsin smirked at her.
"Well, I meant that if one day I would own a house or something..."
"Then don't worry, I'm sure we'd end up with some place way better..." Tamsin murmured as she took her note pad out, trying to figure out who to interview first.
Both were a little startled by what Tamsin had just said. Then Bo huffed out a light laugh and put her hand in Tamsin's, holding her fingers tight.
11:00am - In The Community
After interviewing all the witnesses and finding nothing, they decided to leave.
Before Tamsin started her truck, Bo rolled down the window and gazed at the middle of the community, with her eyebrows furrowed. That weird feeling struck her again, like suddenly her heart was heavy, and she felt gloomy.
"What's wrong?" Tamsin asked.
"Probably nothing..." Bo said, shaking her head. "Maybe I am just low on fuel..."
"Well, that… I do know how to solve," Tamsin said, giving her a light kiss on her lips.
11:55pm - Police Station
"God finally all the paperwork is done!" Tamsin exclaimed in front of her desk, letting out a deep breath.
"Any progress on the case?" Dyson asked.
"The triple death case, no. Others, maybe..." Tamsin said. "Do you think the fact that they all happened around midnight has anything to do with the case?"
"Maybe, maybe not," Dyson said. "Without further evidence, we can't conclude anything."
"Well, I guess I'll call it a day," Tamsin said as she put on her jacket. She tucked her hand into her pocket to look for her cell phone, but she didn't find it. "Where the fuck did my cell phone go?" She murmured, frowning.
"Maybe you left it in your truck or something?"
"Maybe..." Tamsin said. "Anyway, I'm out, have fun."
"Sure," Dyson smiled.
12:05am - Parking Lot
Tamsin found her phone under the driver's seat, and saw a few missed calls from Bo. She cursed and called the brunette back, but Bo was not answering.
Tamsin frowned, and called again, but Bo still didn't answer.
Starting her truck, Tamsin drove to Bo's place, trying hard not to worry, thinking maybe the Succubus fell asleep.
12:30am - Bo's Place
To Tamsin's surprise, Bo's car was parked in front of her place, but no one was home. She went to Bo's bedroom, and saw Bo's phone on the side table, and her clothes on the floor.
Tamsin furrowed her eyebrows when she realized that one of Bo's kimonos was missing, which seemed to indicate that maybe Bo went out in her kimono.
What the fuck is going on? Tamsin asked herself as she called the Dal. Trick told her Bo went home a little before 11, and Kenzi told her Bo got home before she went to the Dal.
Then where the fuck did you go? Tamsin frowned.
12:30am - Tamsin's Apartment
After searching for Bo for a while, Tamsin decided to go home, because it was the last place that she could think of that Bo might be.
When she got out from the elevator, she was shocked to see Bo curled up in front of her door, with her face buried between her knees.
"Damn..."
Tamsin rushed to the brunette, relieved and worried at the same time. And the relief she felt was immediately gone, when she touched Bo's shoulder, because it was then she found out Bo was shaking hard.
Taking the brunette in her arms, Tamsin could just smell Bo's fear. She slowly pulled away a little bit, and looked Bo in the eyes. "What happened, succulette?" She asked in a soft voice, trying everything she could not to scare the brunette.
At first Bo didn't respond. She just looked at Tamsin blankly, like her mind was blank somehow. After a few minutes, it seemed that her senses had finally came back to her, and she started to cry.
"God, I thought we agreed... no tears, Bo..." Tamsin murmured, taking the brunette into her embrace again. " Shh, shh… I'm here… I'm here..."
After a while, Bo finally calmed down a little. Tamsin opened the door and let her in, with Bo in one of her arms. She laid down on the couch and let the brunette lay on top of her. She could still feel Bo shaking, and Bo's cold hands made her shiver a little when she touched them.
"What's going on, Bo?" Tamsin asked. "What happened?"
Bo nodded, then she shook her head. Then she said, " I… I think I killed someone..."
"What? That's ridiculous!" Tamsin exclaimed.
"Blood… a lot of blood… a lot of blood on my hands..."
"Ok, that's even more ridiculous. Since when does a Succubus killing involve any blood shedding?" Tamsin frowned. She took Bo's hands in hers and examined them carefully. "And you don't have any blood on your hands, Ok?"
It seemed that Bo was startled by what she had said. The brunette frowned and checked her hands over and over again, but she didn't say a word.
"Alright, why don't we go take a hot bath, and you tell me what happened?" Tamsin said.
12:50am - Bathroom
Tamsin hugged Bo from behind in the tub, her chin resting on Bo's shoulder. "So, what exactly happened?"
"I… I don't know… I'm not sure..." Bo said. She had calmed down a lot, with a light feeding, the hot water, and some of Tamsin's vodka. She gripped Tamsin's hands tightly, as if she was afraid that the blonde would leave her.
"Ok, then how about we start from the things you do know, or that you can remember?" Tamsin said as she caressed Bo's fingers under the water slowly.
"I… I think I was at home, sleeping in my bed..." Bo said. "Then… I was at this… this place… a room… or something like that… it was dark, a light bulb dangling on the ceiling. And… and I was there… blood on my hands, and everywhere. And bodies… there were lots of bodies… lots of them… and I think I killed them..."
"Shhh..." Tamsin held the brunette tighter when she felt Bo shaking again. "You didn't kill anyone, Ok? You don't have blood on you, not a single drop."
"But… but everything's so real..." Bo said. "I could even smell the laundry detergent… and some sort of flower..."
"Is it possible that..." Tamsin whispered to Bo, "...you just had a nightmare?"
"No… I've had nightmares before," Bo explained, shaking her head. "This is just… not a nightmare."
"Well, maybe you are just exhausted and had a very real nightmare?"
"I thought detectives didn't do guess work..." Bo murmured.
"Ok, want some real detective work? Here's the deal. Witness number one confirmed you left the Dal between around 10:45pm, and witness number two confirmed you got home around 11:00pm. A fifteen minutes gap, which is about the right time for you to drive home from the Dal," Tamsin said, " And knowing you this well, I'd say you had some food from your fridge before you threw yourself a shower. Then, you called me at around 11:40pm, and I found you at my doorstep around 12:30am. Judging by the dirt and scratches on your foot, and the fact your car was still parked in front of your shack, I'd say you walked all the way here, and it should take about 30 minutes, so, you only had like 20 minutes, do you think you could really go kill someone, and get home to leave your cell phone there, which by the way, I found on your nightstand, clean yourself, and your kimono, and then leave for my place?"
"That sounds… impossible..." Bo murmured.
"Then stop worrying!" Tamsin said. " God you scared the crap out of me!"
" I… I didn't even remember calling you..." Bo said. " I guess I was just… too afraid."
"Hey, hey, relax, succulette," Tamsin said. "You didn't kill anyone. If you want me to confirm it, I'll trace your steps using the traffic cams tomorrow, and get you a timeline, and prove to you that you didn't kill anyone."
"That would be good..." Bo said, closing her eyes, taking a deep breath.
"God, you and your I-kill-people guilt..." Tamsin said, kissing Bo on the back of her neck, "I'm sure it's just a nightmare of some sort."
"It better be," Bo said.
1:20am - Bedroom
Caressing Bo's hair lightly, Tamsin laid a kiss on Bo's forehead, and watched the brunette melt in her touches.
"Feel better now?" She whispered to Bo.
Bo nodded, "I guess it might just be a nightmare..."
"Yeah, yeah, poor little succulette had a bad dream, and she ran to her Valkyrie for protection," Tamsin teased Bo, her fingers slowly running on Bo's face.
Bo didn't say anything. She just smiled and tucked herself closer to the blonde. She felt safe, and warm. A few minutes later, she fell asleep in Tamsin's arms.
8:00am - Tamsin's Apartment
The smell of chocolate chip pancakes woke Bo up. She went to the kitchen in Tamsin's old t-shirt, and saw the blonde already have plates laid out on the table and glasses filled with juice.
Bo took a sip from the glass and watched the blonde putting hot pancakes on her plate.
"I didn't… I mean… you don't normally cook breakfast..."
"Well, it's kinda cruel even for me to force a Succubus who just had a terrible nightmare to cook breakfast herself," Tamsin smirked. "Eat your breakfast, and we'll go to the precinct so I can prove to you that you couldn't possibly have killed anyone."
"Ok," Bo nodded.
Tamsin let out a deep breath. She didn't want Bo to worry, but she somehow felt that it was not just a nightmare, because when she saw Bo, the brunette was trembling in fear. She knew it was definitely not just a nightmare, at least not a usual one.
"What?" Bo asked when she saw the concerned look on Tamsin's face.
"Nothing," Tamsin said. "I have something for you."
" Huh?" Bo said, her eyes wide open. "You mean like a gift?"
Tamsin answered her with a wink, then she gave Bo something.
"A key...?" Bo said.
"The key, to my apartment," Tamsin said.
"Oh!" Bo nodded.
"Here," Tamsin said, taking the key to put it on Bo's key ring. "So next time you want to come over, you don't need to knock anymore. Besides, having a crying Succubus on my doorstep, really, really repels other hot chicks, you know."
Bo laughed. "Well, I should give you a copy of my key… but I don't have a spare one..."
"Just save it," Tamsin said. "Since when do I need a key to get into your place?"
10:00am - Police Station
"See, I told you, you couldn't possibly have had the time to kill anyone, let alone a group of people in some weird dark place," Tamsin explained to Bo as she showed Bo the traffic cam pictures. "This one was taken on your way back home. Then these were taken when you were walking to my place. No blood on you, no nothing. And we haven't had any missing person reports or any 911 calls about a mass murder yes."
"Yet," Bo reiterated. Though she was still relieved to finally confirm that it was not real, there was a small part of her was still scared by how vivid the whole thing was. She thought for sure at some point, she did see blood on her hands, and she even felt the warmth from the dead bodies.
"God..." Tamsin rolled her eyes, taking the brunette into her arms. "Would you relax?"
Bo didn't say anything, but hugged the blonde back, with her face buried in Tamsin's chest.
"Oh my God, go get a room!" Dyson said with a squeaky, girly voice behind them, with a big smile on his face.
Tamsin shot a cold glare at him, before she let Bo sit down on her chair. "And you are here, two hours late for work."
"Had to interview someone on the other cases," Dyson explained. "But, I did find this after you left last night." He handed Tamsin a case file folder.
"One resident in that community went too far behind on his payments, and lost his house, cars, and everything… committed suicide a few days after being evicted," Tamsin frowned as she read. "You think this is related to our triple death case? How come we didn't find about this earlier?"
"Because it was ruled as a suicide," Dyson said. "I'm not sure if it's related to our case, but not too long after he died, our first victim died."
"Could have something to do with our case then..."
"We should probably go interview his family and friends and check out his house," Dyson said.
"Well, he's a widower, no children, other relatives are either outside the country or deceased..." Tamsin said as she continued to read the file.
"Let's take a look at the house then, which… should be one of those foreclosed ones..." Dyson said.
"Of course," Tamsin nodded. Then she turned to Bo. "You want me to drop you at home first?"
Bo shook her head, "Can I go with you?"
"You sure?" Tamsin asked.
Bo nodded, tucking her fingers into Tamsin's hand.
"Is everything Ok?" Dyson asked.
"Everything's fine," Tamsin said. "Just one clingy Succubus."
11:00am - The Foreclosed House
"Well, considering that he lost everything, and was probably pretty lonely, maybe he's pissed and is haunting the community?" Bo asked as she entered the house. Everything inside was either ripped, cracked or broken.
"We've considered the haunting theory, but there is no ghost in this area," Dyson said. "Plus, he didn't die here. He died in a motel room, a few days after the bank took his house."
"I don't see anything," Tamsin said. "And I thought we swept the whole area very thoroughly before"
"We did," Dyson agreed. He sniffed in the rooms, trying to pick up any scents.
"Smell anything?" Tamsin asked.
"No," Dyson said. "Just… the hyacinth from outside."
Tamsin wanted to say something, but before she could, her attention was drawn to Bo. The brunette was standing in the corner of the room, quivering.
"What's wrong?" Tamsin rushed to Bo, immediately holding her to her chest.
"I don't know," Bo said. "I just feel… I just feel… like my brain is in ice..."
"Ok, you need to go home," Tamsin said. Then she turned to Dyson. "Can you cover for me?"
"Sure thing," Dyson nodded.
12:20pm - Tamsin's Apartment
"I should probably take you to Trick, or maybe your ex-girlfriend." Tamsin said.
"I think I feel a lot better now," Bo said, her forehead pressed on Tamsin's chest. "Maybe I'm just too tired or something… I guess I could use a nap."
"Ok, but when you wake up, we'll need to find someone to help, 'cause this shit is not normal, not at all."
Bo nodded lightly, kissing the blonde on her lips before she fell asleep. She had no idea why she felt so exhausted, as if something was consuming her strength, and senses. She just wanted to fall into a deep sleep, and never wake up. She could feel herself slowly drifting into some dream, or darkness, or something else.
Bo opened her eyes, and saw herself being locked up inside a room. She was wearing her normal clothes, but with heavy, cold handcuffs and chains on her hands and feet. An old, dirty light bulb was above her. There was no window or doors in the room. She was alone. She wanted to say something, to yell, but when she opened her mouth, no voice came out. She tried to get her cell phone out, so she could call Tamsin, but she couldn't find it. She wanted to pick the locks on the chains, but no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't open them.
The light buzzed, and the entire room went dark for a second or two. When Bo could see again, she saw blood all over her and bodies lying around on the floor. She couldn't breath, when she saw those people were the ones that she loved. She saw Tamsin among them, her eyes were closed and her chest was bleeding. Fear seized Bo, and she pressed her hands hard on Tamsin's chest, trying to stop the bleeding, but she couldn't. She called Tamsin's name, and cried out loud, but there was nothing she could do.
Eventually, everyone went stone cold dead. It was just her, alone, sitting in the middle of a pool of blood.
The light started to buzz again, and Bo felt dizzy, like the whole room was spinning. She screamed.
"...Wake up! Bo, wake up!" Tamsin's voice came to her. It took a while for Bo to realize that the Valkyrie's voice was real, instead of her imagination. Opening her eyes, she saw the Valkyrie in front of her, with a hint of tears in her blue eyes. Then she felt the pain on her wrist, she turned to look at it and realized that Tamsin was gripping it tightly, trying to pulling her wrist away from her face.
"Tamsin...?" Bo murmured, letting the blonde embrace her. "What happened?" She looked at her hand, and added. "Why do I have a stiletto in my hand?"
"No fucking idea!" Tamsin said. "You just got off the bed, and grabbed the stiletto from my weapon chest, and tried to stab yourself in the temple."
"What?" Bo was shocked. "I did that?"
"Shit! You scared the fuck out of me..." Tamsin said, holding Bo tighter. "I couldn't wake you up, and I couldn't subdue you! Shit! Shit! Thank God you woke up, you little..."
Bo was still in shock. She dropped the blade in her hand, and slowly hugged the blonde back.
"We need to go get some help. Something's up," Tamsin said.
2:40pm - The Dal
After carefully listening to Bo and Tamsin, Trick furrowed his eyebrows and went into trance. Then he turned to Tamsin and said. "You look like you kinda have an idea about what is causing it."
"I do, but I sorta don't," Tamsin said. "If it was just some horrible nightmares, I'd say it was a Mare."
"That's what I am thinking too," Trick said, "A Mare."
"Oh, a Mare," Bo said. "But I haven't had any contact with any Mares recently. "
"No, I think you may have picked it up at the community," Tamsin said. "You said you felt gloomy there, when you were in that house, you almost fell."
"But, no one was in that house," Bo reasoned. "I mean, does this Mare thing float in the air and catch up with people or something?"
"No, normally you'd have to be around a Mare for a while before you start to have nightmares." Trick said. "But, you are a Succubus, riding the energy of dreams is in your blood, and that makes you extremely vulnerable, and sensitive to a Mare's power. In fact, some old scrolls indicate that Succubi and Mares may have come from the same ancestor..."
"I think the questions here are..." Tamsin began, "First of all, we didn't come into any contact with any Fae in that area, let alone a Mare, which is supposed to be a very, very rare type of Fae. And second, Mares only cause nightmares, their nightmares don't make people kill themselves."
"Wait, you think those people killed themselves because of a nightmare?" Bo asked.
"Well, you were having nightmares, and you almost stabbed yourself in the temple," Tamsin said. "Do I really need more proof?"
"Then we totally need to find this Mare before more people die." Bo said. "But… I thought you and Dyson swept the entire area and found nothing..."
"What I don't understand is how can a Mare kill like this," Tamsin said. "They feed off the fear of the victims of the nightmares they cause, but I've never heard of any Mare who was be able to kill by giving people nightmares..."
"The only thing I can tell you is, sometimes the apple does fall far from the tree," Trick said.
"Ok, well, I guess you've both concluded that it's a Mare," Bo said. "So where is it? 'Cause I'd really like to stop having those horrible dreams."
"It has to be somewhere in or near that house," Tamsin said.
"If it's in there, how come other people in that community haven't been affected?" Bo asked.
"People all react differently to a Mare's power," Trick explained to her. "Some are very easy prey. Others can't be affected by it at all."
"But we've checked like every room there. If there's anything alive in there, we should have already found it." Tamsin said.
"Maybe she's in hiding," Trick said, "Have you guys checked the basement?"
"There was no basement," Tamsin said. "And if she was in that house, Dyson should have smelled her too."
"Wait. What if..." Bo said, "I mean, in my dreams, there was this small, tiny room, with no windows, no doors, and dark, dark… what if… she is locked up somewhere, like in some concealed room or something?"
"I guess to answer that question, there is only one way," Tamsin said. "We need to go check out that foreclosed house again."
4:10pm - The Foreclosed House
"Ok, if I were to lock someone up, where would I ..." Tamsin murmured as she walked around the house. Then she turned to Bo and asked, "Are you Ok?"
"I'm fine," Bo said.
"You sure you don't want to step outside?" Dyson asked, "You look a little pale."
Bo shook her head, "It's Ok. I figure if we are at the right spot, I should be able to sense it or something."
"Do you sense anything then?" Tamsin asked.
"Just a coldness in my brain," Bo said, wandering around in the house, "And… it feels… stronger, or sharper… in the master bedroom."
"Master bedroom it is," Dyson said.
"Come on, little nightmare radar," Tamsin held Bo's hand in hers.
4:20pm - The Master Bedroom
"Ok, there's nothing in here. Floor is solid, and so are the walls," Dyson said.
"And you don't smell anything?" Tamsin asked.
"No," Dyson sniffed, before his eyes turned to the walk-in closet.
"What?" Bo asked, trying hard not to fall on her knees, because the cold rush in her head was so strong that she could barely stand.
"The size of the closet..." Dyson said, "This house has the exact same layout as the neighbors, but I remember their closet in the master bedroom is much deeper..."
"Well, then we have an option here," Tamsin said, "Tear down that wall."
"Then you two may wanna step back a little," Dyson took off his jacket and shirt, howling in a low voice.
4:30pm - The Master Bedroom
The moment Dyson tore the wall down and exposed the hidden space behind it, Bo saw a little girl chained in there. Ignoring the extreme cold rush in her head, she ran to her.
"God..." Bo murmured when she got a closer look at the girl. "This is just..." She couldn't even find the right words to describe what she saw. What she saw was a severely pale, weak and terrified teenage girl, with chains on her wrists and ankles. Bo had no idea how long she had been in those, because her skin was bruised so badly that the metal almost seemed like they had grown into her flesh. Whatever she was wearing, could barely be called clothes, and was more similar to a piece of dirty rag. The girl was only half conscious, trembling and struggling when Dyson tore the chains off the wall and carried her out. She raised her hands to cover her face when she saw the light outside, and groaned vaguely in pain.
"Shhh..." Bo caressed her arm, trying to calm her down. She shivered when she touched the girl, because she could feel her fear by touching her. She sent out some of her charms gently, and eventually the girl closed her eyes and fell asleep.
8:30pm - Tamsin's Apartment
"Ok, just got the message from the hospital," Tamsin said. "The girl is fine, very weak, but she'll live."
"That's somewhat good news, I guess," Bo said. "But who imprisoned her? And why?"
"I don't know, the team that focuses on human trafficking and slavery will investigate that," Tamsin said. "She has been in that little dark cell, chained, for years, maybe even decades, who knows what else happened to her."
"But that cell was sealed, how could she even be alive?"
"It was sealed recently. Again, no clue who did it and why so far," Tamsin said. "And according to the hospital, she had just gone through puberty, that is probably why the nightmare suicides started recently, because she wouldn't have any Mare power before that."
"So someone just keep that little girl inside that dark hole for years like that?" Bo said. "I swear to God if I ever find out who did it, I'm gonna kick his ass!"
"And I'll be right after you," Tamsin said.
"You think maybe she's calling for help, like sending messages through those nightmares?" Bo asked, " I mean, it did seem like the place she was being held in."
"Could be, considering that you can pick up her energy better than all other Faes," Tamsin said. "See, you are useful sometimes, nightmare radar."
"So...no more nightmares?"
"Nightmares or not, it wouldn't be suicidal for sure." Tamsin smirked at her.
10:30pm - Tamsin's Apartment
"So, what exactly did you dream about when you tried to… you know," Tamsin whispered to Bo, holding her from behind under the blanket.
"Just..bodies, blood, fear..." Bo said, " And… and you were in them..."
"Ok… now why don't we do something about this Succubus guilt of yours," Tamsin said. "What is it that you always think you are gonna kill someone?"
"Well, I'm a Succubus, and I have killed that way before, remember?" Bo murmured, turning around to face Tamsin. "I guess it's just… something that I am afraid of."
"You don't need to be afraid of anything," Tamsin said, holding Bo to her chest. "I know you are not gonna kill anyone when you are conscious."
"What about when I'm not conscious then?"
"Then… I'll be thrilled to kick your cute little ass..." Tamsin whispered to her.
Bo huffed out a light laugh, and hugged the blonde back. "Well, since I'm much less dangerous when I'm fully fed, maybe we should do something about it too?" She said.
"Yeah, we probably should..." Tamsin said, kissing her on her lips. " 'Cause if my little Succubus gets hungry, she might go out and suck the whole town dry..." she said as her lips moved down to Bo's neck.
Bo gasped and fisted the sheets. The cold rush and the gloomy feelings in her head were all gone, and all she could feel right now was the blonde's soft kisses, warm touches and gentle nibbles.
