Kaysa landed next to Thor and Kaira in Asgard. She fell to her knees as her mind tried to take in the image she had seen. She had no time to waste.

"We must close the portal!" She exclaimed as she ran towards the sword Heimdall used as a key. She pushed the guardian and began to twist that heavy sword. She didn't know where she was getting her strength from, but it seemed to work. Thor ran to help her and Kaira and with the effort of the three of them the door closed. Kaysa dropped to the floor as she breathed rapidly.

"Did we make it?" Kaira asked as she looked at Thor with her big amber eyes. "We stopped them."

"Not for long," Kaysa replied still from the ground. Thor looked up at her. He knew the answer. "If we find a way to get to her, Hela will find a way to get to us." Kaysa turned to Thor, who was watching her with a hard stare. "I will not lose him. I don't care if I have to face the entire underworld, but I'm not going to lose him."

"I know." Thor understood Kaysa's words. It was about the father of her baby. "We have to warn Odin before it's too late. We have to get the people to safety." Thor turned to Kaira. "You two take care of getting everyone to the castle." Kaysa started to protest, but Thor quickly cut her off. "Trust me. I will speak to my father and ask for Loki's safe return to Asgard. He is the Prince of Asgard and deserves to be treated as such." Thor started to walk away but Kaysa stopped him.

"He is doomed." Thor turned to her. "Loki is doomed. He has forfeited the title of Prince."

"But he is still my brother."

Kaysa and Kaira ran through the streets of Asgard as they tried to command everyone in their path to the palace. However, the people were unwilling to trust elves after they had been declared rebels.

"An alternative must be found." Kaysa looked at Kaira with an overwhelmed look in her eyes. Kaira's mind was racing. She needed to think about what she would do with her people.

"Let's lock them in the houses." She said quickly.

"What, are you crazy?" Kaysa looked at the crowded street. "We can't do that. We'd have to get them in the houses first and then seal them up."

"Yes, we can. Remember. It's a basic spell. And we're both together. We can perfectly well divide the work." Kaira was trying to convince her sister. "Kaysa, please." Kaysa sighed as she raised her hand in front of her.

"I haven't done it in years." She repeated again as she closed her eyes.

"We just have to take it one step at a time." Kaira watched her sister's hand tremble. She was putting a lot of energy into it but people were still going about their lives undeterred. "You just have to break the barrier." Kaira tried to help her sister.

"I'm trying, but." Kaysa insisted she could exert control over them, but it seemed futile until she managed to find the crack to slip through. Silence began to reign in the streets. Kaira watched as people either went into their homes or began to walk towards them. It was time to do the sealing. She quickly stood in front of the houses in the area and raised her hand, casting an inscription on the walls, windows or doors that slid in swirls throughout the house.

"We must go on." She said once she had finished sealing the houses. "Don't worry, the spell will hold as long as you hold on tight." Kaira tried to calm her sister's nerves as she pulled her sister elsewhere. "You did very well."

"I haven't been able to do that for months. I've been inhibited for too long."

"But a Queen never forgets how to protect her people," Kaira repeated those words she had heard so often in her youth.

"My people are dead."

Thor arrived at the throne room where he knew he would find his father. He threw open the doors and walked towards him. He was meeting with some of the men of the city, but there was no time to waste.

"Father." Thor could not stop at formalities. Time was against him and he was sure it would not be long before they would find the entrance to the city. Odin looked at his son quizzically as he excused him in front of the other men. "I need your help." Thor pulled his father away from the prying eyes of the other attendants and told him all about what had happened with Hela during Kaira's rescue.

"What have you done?" he exclaimed when Odin had heard enough. "You have just doomed the entire city." Thor looked at his father in frustration, unable to see how he did not understand that he loved Kaira above any throne and kingdom.

"I have only done what my heart tells me to do."

"You have stolen a soul from Hela, giving her free reign to leave the underworld. She will come back for it, taking as many lives as she can." Thor processed all that information. Do you realise that now?" Thor blanched. He hadn't been able to save Kaira after all. "Where were you when you were supposed to learn all this?" Odin ordered his men to line up while his minions brought their armour and spear.

"How can we finish her off?" Thor knew the answer he was going to get.

"By handing her over to the one she seeks," Odin replied as he walked out of the throne room. Thor followed a few moments later. He had to find Kaira before he did.

Kaira ran to her sister after closing the last house. Kaysa was exhausted, sitting against the wall. A cold sweat ran down her forehead. Kaira's voice was distant and her vision was blurred. She felt like she had no control over her body. "Kaysa." Kaira took her by the shoulders as she recited an ancient elven spell. Kaysa's sight returned to normal. "You cannot falter now. I need you." Kaira pulled her sister up just as the footsteps of an army could be heard in the distance. "Odin's army is coming." Kaira looked away proudly. Thor had managed to convince her father after all. Kaysa, however, was not so convinced.

"Run," Kaysa ordered her sister. It didn't take long to locate the army and see that it was a very different one from the expected one with golden armour. Dozens of rows of dead were waiting in formation at one end of the street. Kaysa felt her sister clutch her hand in trembling.

"What is that?"

"I don't know. But it won't be long before they come for us." At that moment, the ranks split in two and a figure emerged between them. He walked slowly, stamping his boots on the ground with every step he took. His black armour emphasised the paleness of his skin and his dark eyes.

"Kaysa. No." Kaira tried to stop her sister, but she was already advancing slowly towards Loki. He was waiting for her. He was calling her. She had to go help him. Kaysa knew Loki was there. "Kaysa!" Kaira shouted and tried to run towards Kaysa to catch her. Loki raised his hand at that moment and Kaira was separated by an invisible force that prevented her from reaching Kaysa.

Kaysa advanced towards Loki as she repeated his name over and over in a whisper. She knew that only he could help the entire kingdom. But she had to get to him first. She had to make Malekith abandon Loki.

"My Queen." Loki gave a ridiculous bow. His voice sounded so strange. "I don't think we've had time to talk yet."

"Let it go." Kaysa stopped a safe distance away from Loki. She watched as his face became more and more consumed with darkness.

"I don't think so." Loki's smile was cold and cruel.

"You know you'll never get yours back with him." Kaysa needed to get it out. If Loki could do it with her, she could do the same.

"Oh, that's where you're wrong my dear." Loki tried to move closer, but Kaysa stopped him by raising her hand. Loki's smile was wiped away in that instant. His face contracted and, for a small moment, Kaysa could see the green of Loki's eyes before they were consumed by darkness again. Her heart skipped a beat. Loki had seen her. He knew she was there. Because of him. "This is a god." The cold smile surfaced on his face again. "You have nothing to offer me." Loki took another step towards her.

"You know I do." Kaysa smiled painfully as she stroked her belly. Loki looked down at her with satisfaction. He just needed Kaysa to say the exact words that would allow him to take possession of Kaysa and Loki's child. Kaysa also knew what she needed to say. But she wasn't willing to do it so easily. "Let it go. Set Loki free and I'll say it."

Loki wandered in the darkness. His feet led him along strange paths that always led to the same plain. He felt dazed and weak. Until he saw Kaysa in front of him. For a moment he saw her in a pose determined to fight. He could not allow it. Not after he knew she was carrying his baby. The news shocked him. He didn't know what he was going to do with this baby, but he wanted the chance to be able to decide for himself. He started to run, looking for the longed-for exit. Loki was still pacing when he heard Kaysa trying to make a deal with Malekith. He hadn't had time to hear it clearly, but he felt the darkness slowly fading. That was when he realised she was trying to escape. He couldn't allow it. As long as Malekith was inside him, Kaysa was safe. Loki stopped and focused all his energy on his power. From his hands came different green threads that caught the cloud of darkness that was beginning to drift away. He pulled on them as if they were the reins of a runaway horse. She had to hold on for Kaysa and the baby for as long as it took, hoping that someone would help her at any moment.

Kaysa looked at Loki quizzically. She didn't understand why Malekith's shadow was held in the body. She could see him struggling to get out of it, but it was no use. Something was holding him back. She looked around, but the army of corpses remained motionless.

"What are you waiting for?" Kaysa asked nervously. Her plan was failing and she didn't know how to get it back on track. "Come on! Drop it!" Just then, out of nowhere, Thor landed in front of her, blocking her view of Loki. His hammer was raised and with a roar, he announced the entrance of his army. Kaysa knew that Odin would not be long in coming. Hela was quicker. Followed by an army larger than Loki's, she stood in front of Thor, Kaysa and Kaira. Thor hid Kaira behind him.

"Where is he?" Hela asked angrily.

"Take me instead," Thor replied after much pondering. Kaysa turned to him in confusion. "Leave Kaira and take me." Hela laughed at Thor's response.

"Do you really think I came here alone for her?" they all looked at Hela quizzically. She kept laughing cruelly. "You are very wrong, God of Thunder." The serious countenance returned to Hela's face. "I'm not looking for her. To have her would force me back to the prison that is the underworld. What I seek is the All-Father. Odin. The bastard who banished me when he grew tired of me." Hela then turned to Kaysa. "Just as he has done to him." She said pointing to Loki. Kaysa was confused.

"No." She replied, though her tone seemed more towards her. "Loki has been banished for murder." Kaysa seemed to be trying to convince herself.

"Do you really believe that?" Hela reached over and cupped her chin. "How is that different from what he did to your people? Remember Einar?" Kaysa looked over Hela's shoulder and watched as a figure from her army of the dead approached. It was a headless man, but his body was still in a state of decay. Kaysa could recognise the mark Einar had on his forearm, the result of one of his hunts in the forest. That day Kaysa thought she would lose him.

"Enough!" Odin interrupted the conversation. He had arrived with his golden army, ready to defend his people. Hela turned away from Kaysa with a smirk.

"I thought I was going to have to go looking for you myself." With a flick of her wrist, Hela drew her dark sword. She was ready to face Odin.

"There you have your promises. Take Loki and Kaira and get out of here."

"No way," Hela replied. "I've grown tired of being in darkness and shadow all this time. I want to take back what is mine." She shouted as she lunged to attack Odin, starting a battle. Kaira and Kaysa ran towards each other and fought together, combining their two magics. Thor swung and swung his hammer at the army of the dead. The group managed to contain Hela. Or so they thought. Attacks were few and far between, causing few losses on the side of Kaysa and the others. Loki was still immobilised with his own internal struggle. "I'll hit you where it hurts." Hela threatened Odin as she raised her hand and sent more warriors on the attack.

"We need to finish quickly," Kaysa exclaimed as she watched the soldiers exhaust themselves. That was Hela's plan. "She wants to wear us down. She wants us to have no strength to defend ourselves." At that moment, Kaira was conjuring an attack. "Stop!" Kaysa grabbed her sister's arm. "Don't you see?" Kaira looked at her in surprise and it took her a few minutes to realise.

"We need our people. They will be able to hold out for as long as it takes." Kaira nodded as she mentally concentrated on issuing a call to the light elves. "Kaysa, we need yours as well."

"Are you kidding? Odin took care of wiping them all out." Kaysa replied as she dodged an attack. Hela could see the strength of Odin's army dwindling and was beginning to launch the attacks more in succession.

"I need you to get back to the palace at all costs. Thor approached the sisters.

"I will not leave you alone," Kaira replied as she cast a spell of light.

"Kaira, the palace acts as a fortress. It will be the next thing Hela attacks. I need you to take my father there and defend the castle. I have to stay as a decoy." Thor looked at Kaira with tenderness and pain.

"There is a way we can all escape," Kaira replied seriously. "We have to meet in the middle of the street." Thor looked at Odin and beckoned him to the plan. Kaysa began to walk towards the point her sister had indicated but remembered Loki. They were going back to the palace for protection. She could not leave him alone. "Kaysa!" Kaira called to her as she watched her sister run towards the army of the dead. She dodged the blows and swords with her elven reflexes until she reached Loki. She grabbed his hand and tugged at him as she shouted for Kaira to begin her plan. Kaira shouted in Elvish as she opened a portal with her hands. "It will close the moment I step through." She exclaimed as she saw how her sister had not yet arrived. The army of the dead was running after her. "Kaysa!" He called out to her once more.

Kaysa landed on the floor of the throne room with Loki on top of her. She didn't have time to open her eyes when she felt the weight ease and several soldiers held Loki down. His gaze was exhausted, but he was him again.

"Wait." Kaysa sat up and reached for the handcuffs they intended to place on him. After a few elvish words, they began to glow and several engravings appeared on them. "The gag too." Kaysa acted under the watchful eyes of everyone, including Odin. She repeated the same words as with the handcuffs but this time it was she who went over to put it on. Kaysa placed her free hand on Loki's cheek and pressed a heartfelt kiss before placing the gag over his mouth. Loki weakly reciprocated and looked up at her in exhaustion. "I do it to protect you, my love," Kaysa murmured as she tried to hold the lump in her throat. "For you and for me." She said as she pressed her forehead against his. Loki nodded as he felt his hands being shackled again. He looked at Kaysa and then down at her belly. He wished he could feel her.

"What's wrong?" Frigga's voice broke into the room. "Loki?" Her attention was diverted to her son who had been banished a few weeks ago. Frigga's gaze shifted from Loki to Kaysa to linger on Odin.

"I hope this isn't one of your tricks." Odin approached Kaysa as he made sure Loki was securely chained.

"The spell will prevent him from being able to use his magic." Kaysa skipped the Malekith part. She wasn't sure he wasn't willing to sacrifice his own son's life in order to finish him off.

Loki had regained control of his body and his attention was on Kaysa. He didn't understand why she hadn't told him about the baby. From the size of her belly, she must have known about it for a few months. Kaysa avoided his gaze. Loki was willing to do anything to know the true story of the baby, even get inside the elf's mind. However, the gag prevented him from gesturing his spell. Loki's gaze then fell on Frigga, who was marshalling her personal army around the castle, aiming soldiers at the rooms of her guests.

"You must protect Princess Ada." Frigga then turned to Loki. She knew her son would rather his wife met her death in that battle, but the queen owed it to the family honour.

"Majesty." Kaysa ran to her. "Let me handle this." Loki smiled with his gaze. He didn't need to read Kaysa's mind to know the plan she had on Ada.

"No," Frigga replied confidently. "Lady Kaira and Lady Kaysa you must leave as well."

"We can help," Kaira exclaimed as she joined the conversation.

"I need you to keep yourselves safe. For the sake of the kingdom." Frigga moved closer to the elves. "For the sake of my sons."

Kaysa was startled to hear voices shouting outside her door. She had been locked in Kaira's room with her sister for hours, unable to do anything but wait for the battle to end.

"They need our help."

"It's dangerous, Kaira."

"Hela will never do anything to me. If she takes me, she'll have to return to the underworld without achieving her goal." Kaira had heard all about her and Hela when Thor asked her to listen to her mother. Kaysa looked at her sister. She was right, Hela wasn't after her. Hela wanted Asgard.

"Protect the queen!" The elves looked at each other startled. Frigga was in danger.

"We have to help her." It was Kaysa who took the initiative. Despite all her misfortunes, the queen had held out hope during those months. Kaira felt the same affection. She had treated her as another daughter, not as a traitor to the Asgardian crown.

They left as the quiet returned to the hallway outside Kaira's chamber. They decided to go together to the queen's bed-chamber, where she should wait for the battle to end.

They walked through the castle, hidden behind pillars and skimming the golden walls that adorned the palace. They stopped when they saw a round of dead men walking up the stairs to the royal chambers.

"What do we do now?" Kaira asked behind her sister's back.

"Follow me," Kaysa commanded. Months of service had allowed her to know all the hidden corridors that led to the various rooms, though she had only used one particular path. She stopped at the crossroads that separated the paths. She tried to visualise the layout of the rooms.

"Shall we take this one?" Kaira pointed to the detour on the right.

"That one leads to Loki's room," Kaysa replied. Kaira looked at her sister and back to the junction.

"This one on the left then is the one that leads to Thor's room. Remember it's in the west wing. Therefore."

"Therefore, this central one is the one that leads to the queen's room." Kaysa quickened her pace as she followed her intuition. She came to a small door that let in dim light. "It's locked."

"Open it." Kaira insisted, but Kaysa still couldn't open it. Kaira stood between her sister and the door and raised her hand. An elven rune began to be drawn in fire on the stone. A moment later the door opened. "Use your magic."

"I have no magic. My power was drained when I removed the pendant." Kaysa was about to enter the room when Kaira stopped her.

"Your power resides in you, Kaysa. No pendant is capable of giving a person powers or taking them away." Kaysa tried to conjure a small flame in her hand, which vanished instantly.

"Not my case."

The sisters came to a small chamber where there was a long table in the centre. There were shelves of dried plants smelling of lavender, rosemary and thyme. On another side of the room, she could see jars of different colours with labels of different attributes: Dream, calm, truth.

"Where are we?" Kaira asked with the same curiosity as Kaysa.

"I don't know," Kaysa replied after much thought. The sound of something approaching caught the elves' attention. "Who goes there?" Kaysa shouted. They looked at each other, unsure of how to react. Should they be the first to attack? Or should they wait on guard? Their doubts were dispelled when they saw Ada appear with what looked like a spear from Odin's guards.

"What are you doing here?" she asked with the spear held high in the air. "Are you here to kill me?" Her face showed offence.

"We are looking for the queen," Kaira replied. "We need to know she is safe."

"I will not believe your lies, elf," Ada replied, her gaze flicking quickly from Kaira to Kaysa. "She wants to kill me, look at her," Ada exclaimed as she pointed the tip of her spear at Kaysa. The elf looked at her coldly. The thought had anchored itself in her head. Killing her would be the end of Loki's chains. He could be free to be with her. And she would avenge her sister for condemning her to banishment.

"Princess." Kaira's words brought her back to reality. She couldn't finish Ada without putting herself at risk again. Now she had someone to care for. "I ask you to please calm down. Where is the queen?" Ada didn't answer. The anxious look shifted to a cold, calculating one. Kaysa knew what was going through her head at that moment.

"Perhaps I can use this situation to my advantage." Ada's voice was cold. Kaira tried to interrupt, but Ada ignored her. "I could take advantage and finish you off here, right now. In war, human lives are always lost." Ada walked toward Kaira with her spear firmly in place. "If I finish her off." She said pointing at Kaysa. "I'll take the hassle out of having someone who only seeks to save Prince Loki. I can finally avenge the humiliation I was subjected to when she promised me a real prince. No one wants to be with a second best. Kaysa pursed her lips so as not to give her the satisfaction of hearing her retort. "And if I end up with you, I won't have to endure one more time Prince Thor's undivided attention on you. It will affect him at first, as it does everyone, but I will be there to comfort him. He will find in me support after he has suffered a similar loss. Then he will make me his queen. We will share power and our lives will be bound together forever. He will know that only I can love him as he deserves."

Kaysa and Kaira watched Ada's every move, ready to defend the attack she had prepared for them. Ada taunted them several times, pretending to throw the spear at them but not actually touching them. She laughed every time she saw them flinch as she commented on how pathetic they were. A clatter caught everyone's attention. The door had been forced open, and several soldiers from Hela's army were milling about the room. Ada stirred in agitation as she demanded that Kaysa and Kaira protect her. The screams caught the attention of the soldiers, who entered the room where they were. Kaira began to conjure an elven spell that gathered in her hands. She asked Kaysa to do the same, but no matter how many times she repeated the words, she felt no flow of energy.

"Do something, you good-for-nothing!" Ada shouted at her as she watched Kaysa stand motionless in the room. Kaira was trying to concentrate on the spell, but she needed Kaysa to use her powers. Tired of waiting, Ada went to hit Kaysa to get her to react, but Kaira stood in her way. The pent-up energy shot out towards Ada, who fell backwards. Furious, she stormed towards Kaira with her spear held high. "I will end you right here." Kaira took a few steps backwards in the direction of Hela's army. One of the soldiers caught her. Kaira's face reflected the terror she felt at that moment, while Ada's reflected satisfaction. She wouldn't need to get blood on her hands after all.

It was then that Kaysa did something inexplicable. Watching the soldiers carry her sister and seeing that she was unable to conjure a spell that could save her, Kaysa chose to scream. It was an inhuman, high-pitched scream that pierced Ada's ears, sending her crashing to the ground. The soldiers began to vibrate agitatedly as Kaysa increased the intensity of her scream to such an extent that it threw everyone into the air. Kaira managed to grab hold of a pillar. The others were slammed against the walls of the room.

"How did you do that?" Kaira asked as Kaysa ran to her side to check for damage.

"No...No... I don't understand." Kaysa looked down at her hands as she tried again to conjure a flame, failing in the attempt. "It's something different." Kaysa didn't want to describe the feeling that had come over her. She felt fear flow through her being and control all of her emotions. "We have to get out of here. We have to keep looking for the queen." Kaira nodded and stood up with Kaysa's help. Together they walked out into the main hallway and ran to the throne room to find the queen.

They arrived at the scene of a massacre. The hall was in tatters, with columns half collapsed and the floor torn to shreds. Asgardian soldiers and soldiers of Hela's army had fallen in battle. The elves began to rummage through the bodies with concern. Kaira needed to know that Thor had not fallen in battle. Kaysa was looking for something to tell her that Loki was all right. She found the gag she had placed on him. It had been snapped in half. A shiver ran down her spine as she imagined how it had happened.

"I see no trace of the royal family," Kaira said as she rejoined her sister. She looked at the piece of metal she held in her hands. "It will be fine. He's a good warrior." Kaira tried to comfort her sister.

"He is not a warrior. He's a sorcerer. And I have prevented him from being able to defend himself." Kaysa felt a huge pressure in her chest. Kaysa needed to release her discomfort, but one of the glass panes shattered into pieces as it was pierced by Thor's body.

Kaira ran to him, cursing that she hadn't been there to help him. It was then that the sound of battle filled the room. It had moved to the royal gardens, where the ball in Kaira's honour had been held a month ago. There was Odin and his army fighting the dead. To Kaysa's surprise, Loki was helping Asgard. His chains had been snapped in half, though he still wore the handcuffs hanging from his wrists. She approached Kaira and Thor.

"Is he breathing?" Kaira nodded as she placed her hands on Thor's chest and healed him with a spell. Thor then opened his eyes and stared at the two figures before him. Kaira was quick to throw herself into his arms.

"What are you doing here?" Thor's tone showed his concern. "You can't be here."

"We're not planning to hide," Kaira replied. "We are warriors too. As Queens of the elves, we are taught to face battle."

"This is not your battle," Thor said, sitting up.

"But it is yours." Kaira didn't need to say any more. Thor stared at her, locking his gaze with hers before heading back to the battlefield. "Come on," Kaira ordered her sister. They searched the room for weapons from the lifeless bodies in the room and launched themselves once more into battle.

Blood and screams danced throughout the gardens. Loki's face was stained with blood, unable to distinguish which was his own and which was that of his enemies. He had broken his chains while trying to parry a blow from a soldier in Hela's army. With his hands-free, he undoes his gag with a spell that splits it in two. He knew Kaysa had blocked his magic for a reason, but he needed all his power to keep her safe. He wanted to run after her, but first, he had to clear the way. It wasn't proving to be an easy mission. Killing a dead man was no easy feat, and they were gaining battlefield with every passing minute.

Loki didn't want to waste any more time and headed towards the palace entrance. There he saw the image of Kaysa raising a sword and plunging it into the skull of a dead man. Loki was furious. He had thought she was safe waiting for him. Yet she had thrown himself onto the battlefield without thinking of the consequences. The sight of her flying through the air was the last straw. She landed a few feet away from him. Loki ran to her and lifted her up violently.

"Are you insane?" Loki watched as Kaysa's eyes glowed. He stood waiting for an answer. He needed to have a reason to understand her actions. Kaysa gave him a long look before she launched herself at him and kissed him. She did it harshly and passionately. Loki felt his feelings, the ones he'd worked so hard to bury, course through his body until they invaded his mind, intoxicating it with memories of Kaysa. He embraced her with all his might and deepened their kiss until the noise of battle brought him back. "Kaysa, I can protect you and the baby. But I need you to hide." Kaysa shook her head.

"I don't want to do this alone. We need you." For the first time, Kaysa placed Loki's hand on her belly so she could feel her baby. Loki felt something he remembered feeling before with Kaysa. Thousands of tiny cramps ran down his arm reaching deep inside him. It was a unique connection he didn't want to lose. The moment was interrupted by several soldiers attacking them. Loki cast spells everywhere to try and finish them off, but he was attracting the attention of more of them. Then Kaysa did the same thing she had done to Kaira. She screamed with all her emotions. The effect was the same. The soldiers shot up into the air and fell lifeless. Loki turned to her.

"That is not your power." Loki had studied enough to know what had just happened. "Kaysa, you are releasing your chaos." Kaysa looked at him in confusion. "You are letting your emotions control your power."

"I don't have any power," Kaysa confessed as she told him how she wasn't able to cast simple spells.

"You have your chaos."

"Chaos." It was Kaira's voice. She had gone to help her sister when she had seen Hela's soldiers shoot off into the air. "That's it," Kaira spoke as if she had found the solution to all her problems. "Your chaos will win us this battle."

Kaysa stood in the centre of the battlefield, capturing everyone's attention. Hela's army also noticed her and began to corner her. Kaysa walked on regardless, causing everyone to focus around her. She remembered Kaira's words in her head. She needed to channel the fear she felt at that moment. She screamed at the top of her lungs, letting the fear control her emotions. The dead fell and the battlefield was completely cleared. Odin and Thor watched the scene in awe.

"We must find Hela and finish her off anyway," Odin said. At that moment, a cloud formed next to him and the figure of Hela appeared with Frigga at her side. A knife scratched the pearly skin of the queen's neck. Odin ordered the attack to stop immediately. At that moment, Kaysa realised that Odin was no longer a king, but only a man. His gaze seemed to communicate with the queen's in a language that only they and time had managed to understand.

"Leave her. We know it is me you want. Leave Frigga out of this." Odin stood in front of Hela, defeated. Hela watched him and, for a moment, her face seemed relieved to hear Odin. It only lasted a split second.

"I will not fall into your traps again." She announced as she raised her hand. The army of the dead that Kaysa had defeated a few minutes before was rising again, putting every part of its body back together. Everyone looked around worriedly. "What's dead, can't die. Remember?" Odin's figure tensed at Hela's words. Odin turned to Kaysa and grabbed her arm.

"You have to help us." Kaysa watched Odin as she debated whether or not she really wanted to help him. Hela used that debate to her advantage.

"Are you going to help him? Are you going to help the man who killed your people?" Hela waved her hand and some soldiers stepped forward. Kaysa watched them as she wondered how many of them would be elves. "He just wants to put me back where I belong. But you know they will come with me." Kaysa turned to Kaira and Loki. "There will be no one to protect you or the baby." Hela watched triumphantly as her words made a dent in Kaysa's mind, who ignored the calls of the rest. "Only I can help you have a happy ending." Kaysa looked at Hela, wondering if that was really her solution. "I just need to finish him." Kaysa turned and faced Odin. The words replayed in her head.

"Promise me," Kaysa said after an eternal silence. Odin looked at her quizzically and Hela smiled. "Promise me they will be safe. That nothing will happen to them." Kaysa was still staring at Odin, but her hands were raised in front of him. "Promise me what she's saying."

"I give you my word as king." Odin said. Kaysa needed nothing more. She trusted a king to keep his word. After all, he was the All-Father. She turned to Hela's army as she let all the rage and all the pain she had pent up over the months overpower her chaos. Black flames shot out from her hands, encircling the figures and reducing them to ashes. Humiliation added to her emotions and the flames grew more intense.

Kaira took the opportunity to strike Hela, who watched the scene before her in frustration and released the queen. She called for Kaysa to then direct her chaos towards her. Finishing Hela would finish everyone else.

Loki watched the scene in amazement. He did not know that Kaysa could harbour such power. To think that his son could do the same made him proud. Kaysa was taking down Hela. She was weakening her to such an extent that it brought her to her knees. A hole began to open up beneath her. Hela screamed and tried to free herself from the force emerging from it. It had trapped her and was pulling her back into the underworld. Kaysa had put Hela back where she belonged.

That was when his head clouded again. Malekith wanted out. He knew he could feel Kaysa's power and was drawn to it, but he wasn't going to let it out. He began to gather his strength to hold him back just as he had done before. He was willing to endure whatever it took, but Kaysa's voice called out to him.

"Loki, let go now!" she shouted as she held her hands out in front of him. Loki looked at her and for the first time in their relationship, he trusted her blindly. He released all his power and let Malekith leave him. He felt as if his body split in two to give way to an icy chill that coursed through every inch of his being. He fell limply to the ground, watching the cloud move towards Kaysa. Then Kaysa repeated her actions. She hurled the chaos towards Malekith, consuming every particle of him until there was nothing left but dust that was carried away on the wind. Kaysa had done it. Loki could rest easy. That was when strange tiredness invaded his body, causing him to close his eyes.
