In the town bunker, Anne was in what is supposed to be a gym but is commonly referred to as Sasha's workout room. She was hitting a sandbag angrily. Robot Marcy was still on her mind and she was furious that Andrias would stoop to something so SLOW! Marcy trusted him and this is how he repays her?! She was so angry that she didn't even notice that the sandbag broke. Anne was breathing so heavily from anger and exhaustion; she didn't notice she put a TINY bit of calamity energy in that last punch. Hopefully the gym had more sandbags, because the sand was completely gone.
"Damn, and I thought I was supposed to be the Strength Gem." Sasha said.
Turning around, Anne saw that Sasha was up and moving with a slight limp in her leg.
"Shouldn't you be resting?"
"My leg is well enough for me to move and to help you train. Your technique needs work and I have experienced with a strength boost." Sasha said as she walked towards the closet, where more sandbags were.
"No offense Sasha, but I don't think learning from you is going to help." Anne said, "This is a dangerous battle, a war basically... we're just teenagers."
"And I've seen more combat than you have. You've built up your skills from luck and quick thinking. I built mine from actual training from the toads. Like it or not, you need my help." Sasha said as she opened the closet and dragged out a sandbag.
"Maybe I do, but this is still bigger than anything either of us have ever gone up against."
"I know, which is why we need to do it together." Sasha said as she dragged the sandbag to Anne. "Help me set this up, I'll help you work on your striking."
"Okay."
Anne and Sasha picked the sandbag up and set it the new sandbag before they began training together.
"Now, you can throw a punch... that's not enough." Sasha said, "You need to know where to hit. Also, it's one thing to hit something that can't fight back, how would you do against something that can hit back?"
"I would dodge." Anne replied.
"Good but you have to be quick enough to dodge." Sasha said to her.
"Now... come on."
Sasha grabbed the sandbag and stood behind it.
"Hit it."
Anne nodded as she brought her fists up, bouncing on her feet as she remembers her Muay Thai training.
She hit the bag.
"Harder."
She hit the bag harder.
"Harder!"
"URGH!" Anne grunted as she punched the bag as hard as she could, WITHOUT her calamity power.
"Alright, good." Sasha said, "Now... try and hit me."
"What?" Anne asked as Sasha came from behind the sandbag.
"I said "try and hit me." It's easy to hit something that doesn't hit back." Sasha said as stood in front of Anne. "Now, this is sparring."
Anne, being very hesitant, line up for a hit. She threw a punch, which Sasha grabbed and flipped Anne.
"Aaah!" Anne let out in pain.
"That was a basic judo flip. Or toad flip here. I learned a lot from Grimes." Sasha said as she helped Anne up. "Now, let's try that again but react faster and don't hesitate."
"How do I do that?"
"Pretend I'm an enemy." Sasha said as she began throwing punches, making Anne dodge them.
"Come on, Anne, stop dodging and hit me!"
"But you're sti-" Anne said before Sasha landed a punch on her face!
"Our enemies are robots that won't stop until we're dead! They don't stop and neither am I!" Sasha shouted as she kicked Anne in the stomach.
Sasha went for another hit, landing it directly at her chest.
"They're going to try and kill you!"
Sasha punched her in the stomach.
"They're currently destroying Amphibia! A place we both consider home!"
Sasha hit her in the jaw.
"They're going to kill everyone you care about!"
She threw another punch, but Anne blocked it.
"Over my dead body."
Anne raised her head, showing her Calamity eyes. Anne threw an uppercut that Sasha dodged, but the wind was enough to push her back a bit!
'There it is!' Sasha thought as she kept dodging Anne's attacks, faster and more focused as she was serious now!
"That's what I'm talking about."
Anne continued her attacks as Sasha dodged, blocked, and returned attacks while seeing Anne was finally learning.
"Good! Keep fighting like that!" Sasha said, "Now line up your target and strike!"
Anne ducked under a lunch, eyeing Sasha's stomach before launching a quick jab and pushed her back to the sandbag! Even the lightest jab could hold a lot of calamity power behind it. Sasha hit the bag, back first, and fell to the ground.
"Alright, that's what I'm talking about." Sasha said.
Sasha managed to pull herself up, popping some joints in her neck before she got back to sparring with Anne.
"I can't wait to see what happens when we use swords." Sasha said.
Anne's powers calmed down and she feel to a knee.
"I think I know what I need to focus on now." Anne said, "I need to learn to control these powers."
"Yeah, that does seem about as long as you held them again Andrias." Sasha said as she went to help Anne up.
"I just... wish there was someone who could help me with this."
"Maybe we can."
Turning to the door, Anne and Sasha saw that Felicia Sundew and Sadie Croaker stood with smiles.
"Before you two came along, Felicia and I were the toughest frogs in Wartwood with years of adventuring under our belts." Mrs. Croaker said as she spun her cane in her hand. "If anyone could help whip you two into shape, it's us."
"Really? You would do that?"
"After all you've done for our home, even after we thought you were a monster for a time, it's the least we can do for you, darling." Felicia said with a nod and a smile.
Anne smiled.
"Thank you."
