The large airships slowly swam through the early morning air, steadily approaching their destination of Beacon Academy. Each ship emblazoned with the respective symbol of the remaining three kingdoms: Vacuo, Mistral, and Atlas. The last of those three emblazoned the most ships, and any onlooker to the event could easily tell you that only a small number of those ships carried students for the Vytal Festival they came to represent their kingdom in. To most, a sight such as that would have been a spectacle of modern-day technology, an incredible testimony to the resources, resolve, and sheer power of the Atlas military.
To Glynda Goodwitch, it was an eyesore.
"Ironwood certainly loves to bring his work with his travels." Goodwitch remarked as the ships drew closer, glancing to her side to see if Ozpin had any sort of expression on his face. She knew he wasn't a fan of military power being displayed. Yet when she looked at the silver-haired man, she once again couldn't find a single hint of emotion on his face.
"He runs his kingdom's academy and military, Pr. Goodwitch." Ozpin said formally, taking a sip of his coffee before continuing. "He's a very busy man, you must understand that."
"Doesn't mean I need to enjoy it." Glynda remarked.
"Yes, I know." Ozpin said. "It is a bit of an eyesore." No sooner than when he finished saying his thought, a buzz sounded from his console. Glancing at the glass desk, a simple message was displayed across its screen. 'Access requested: James Ironwood' With a sigh, Ozpin tapped on the desk, giving the visitor permission to access his office.
With a click, the elevator opened, and the room's two occupants turned to greet the black-haired general as he walked in. Ironwood opened his arms to the two, giving them his best smile as he spoke. "Ozpin, old friend." He greeted. "It's been much too long."
"Hello, general." Ozpin said, sliding back into his chair as Goodwitch's eyebrows dropped into a slight scowl.
"Please, no need to be so formal." Ironwood said, before looking towards the blonde teacher. "A pleasure to see you again, Glynda."
"How kind." Glynda remarked, giving the man a fake smile as she began towards the elevator. "I'll leave you two to discuss your business. If you require anything at all, please, don't call me."
"Such a warm greeting after a cold trip." Ironwood joked as the woman left.
"So what brings you all the way down from Atlas?" Ozpin asked, reaching to the kettle on his desk to pour himself and his visitor drinks. "Headmasters rarely travel with their students, even for the Vytal Festival."
"Well, you know how much I love Vale this time of year." Ironwood answered, reaching for the mug Ozpin pushed forward. "Besides," Ironwood continued as he reached for the flask in his white coat. "With you hosting, I thought this would make an excellent chance to catch up with each other."
"Hence the small fleet outside my window." Ozpin remarked, glancing back to the approaching airships.
"Just a bit of an insurance policy." Ironwood answered.
"I understand travel between kingdoms has been difficult as of late." Ozpin began. "However, I doubt that-"
"That wasn't what I was referring to." Ironwood responded, his tone losing its cordial inflection, becoming much more serious. "You know why I brought them here."
Ozpin took a sip out of his mug, popping his lips with the coffee's flavor as he looked up at the general. "We are in a time of peace, Ironwood." Ozpin began. "A show of power like this will give the people the wrong impression."
"Most people find a sense of security in such… Security." Ironwood responded. "And if what Qrow said is true-"
"We've already handled that situation." Ozpin interrupted. "I'd like to remind that Cinder Fall is currently in our custody. We're currently working on determining the best method to interrogate her to discover her full plan."
"I doubt it would be solved that simply." Ironwood noted.
"It was, and it will be." Ozpin said. "The threat has passed, and it is the Vytal Festival, a time to celebrate peace and unity. I suggest you don't scare people by transporting hundreds of soldiers halfway across the planet out of a lingering sense of dread."
"Better safe than sorry." Ironwood said, turning to leave. "But ask yourself this:" Ironwood continued as he approached the elevator. "If you're wrong, and this isn't over, are your students ready to win a war?" With that, Ironwood entered the elevator.
As the doors closed on the general, Ozpin glanced down at his table, scrunching his eyebrows as he thought aloud. "They won't even know there is one."
"Why do I…" Ruby grunted as she and her sister walked through the halls of Beacon, carrying what was perhaps the largest binder in the history of all mankind. "Need to carry this thing on my own?... Can't you help?"
"Why, Dear Sister," Scythle began, giving Ruby exaggerated wide eyes as she placed a hand up to her chest. "Need I Remind You Of My Terrible Condition. The Added Weight Might Have An Inverse Affect On My Leg, Causing Another Phantom Pain Attack. I Must Take It Easy For A Few Days For My Own Sake."
"You're milking this for all it's worth, aren't you?" Ruby asked with a scowl.
"Guilty As Charged." Scythle chuckled.
"Most of these were your idea, too." Ruby grumbled. "… And I'm pretty sure you meant 'adverse.'"
"Eh, Too-May-To, Too-Mat-Oh." Scythle shrugged. "Besides, You've Lifted Heavier."
"Yeah, yeah." Ruby said as she and Scythle entered the cafeteria, ever alive with the chatter of students. "Can you see them anywhere? I'm having trouble seeing over the blinding pain in my back."
"Um, Let's See…" Scythle said, placing a hand up to her brow as she scanned the room. "Ytnom, Looking For Anyone In This Show Has Gotten So Hard Since The Heartless Left." She muttered before her eyes landed on the golden locks of her teammate, who was bobbing her head back and forth to catch whatever food the ginger across from her threw. "Oh, There They Are, Come On." Scythle said, placing a hand on Ruby's shoulder to guide the girl.
The rest of the group became easier to identify as the two approached. Blake once again had her face buried in a book between Yang and Weiss, the latter pecking at her own meal. Looking to the group across from Team RWBYS, the only member of Team JNPR doing anything interesting was Nora, while Ren was silently eating his meal and Pyrrha and Jaune were having a conversation about something Scythle didn't care for. As the twins arrived at the table, Ruby dropped the binder on the table with a huff, causing the group's food to jump up into the air, startling the pair of teams as Ruby took in deep breaths, reaching for her back as she straightened her spine.
"Friends…" Ruby began, before reaching for her back again, muttering a quiet, "Ow." Turning her attention back to the group, Ruby gestured to her sister. "Sister…" She continued as Yang caught another grape in her mouth, before gesturing to her partner. "W-"
"Wife!" Scythle interjected, giving off her usual grin as Weiss rolled her eyes.
"Not even in my nightmares." Weiss snarked.
"Oh, So You Only Have Sweet Dreams About Me, Hm?" Scythle said before Ruby gently brushed her twin to the side.
"Four score and seven minutes ago, I had a dream." Ruby continued her speech.
"Oh, this oughta be good." Yang muttered, before catching another berry.
"A dream that one day, the four-er, five…" Ruby corrected herself, looking back at her twin before returning to her speech. "Of us would come together, as a team, and have the most fun anyone has ever had!"
As Ruby spoke, Weiss looked down at the mass of papers in the binder, before her eyes widened upon seeing the cover. With accusatory eyes, Weiss looked back up at the pair of look-alikes. "Did you two steal my binder?" Weiss accused more than she asked.
With wide eyes, Ruby looked over at her sister, who continued to grin as she folded her hands behind her back. "You said you found it." Ruby whispered to her.
"Yeah, In Weiss's Stuff." Scythle answered. "It's Not Like She Was Using It For Anything."
"That was my entire plan for the Vytal Festival." Weiss growled.
"And Now It's Our Entire Plan For The Vytal Festival." Scythle said, giving the group a wide smile. "Gosh, Aren't I Just So Generous?"
"What are you two talking about?" Blake asked, unable to shake the sense that she was going to regret asking.
"I'm talking about kicking off the next semester with a bang!" Ruby replied.
"I always kick my semesters off with a Yang." Yang said, leaning back as she waited for an applaud that would never come, only to be met by the annoyed glares of her friends.
"God Damnit, Barb!" Scythle growled as Nora threw an apple at Yang's face. "That Wasn't Even Good. I May Be A Murderer, But At Least I Don't Kill Good Comedy."
"Look, guys," Ruby continued. "It's been a good two weeks, and between more exchange students arriving and the tournament at the end of the year, our second semester is going to be great! But classes are gonna start back up tomorrow, which is why I've taken the time to schedule a series of wonderful events for us today!"
"I don't know whether to be proud or scared." Weiss said as Yang threw the apple back.
"Don't worry," Ruby said. "I made sure Amethyst didn't put in anything lewd."
"In Public." Scythle added.
"Even then, I'm sitting this one out." Blake said, picking her book back up. As the conversation went on, no one noticed as Nora got up and left the table with a smirk on her face.
"Yeah, I'm with Blake, here." Weiss said. "We should probably spend that time studying for our classes, don't you think?"
"Eh, Come On, Weissy." Scythle began. "You Know What They Say, 'All Work And No Play Makes You A Dull Girl.'"
"Yes, well," Weiss began, standing up out of her seat. "They also say -all play and no w-'"
*Splat!*
Before Weiss could finish her rebuttal, a large cream pie splattered across her face, causing the eyes of everyone at the table to widen before the group looked across the table. Faces agape, the group saw Nora standing behind her team, childishly pointing towards an equally shocked Ren as Weiss brushed the cream off her face, before glaring at the girl across from her.
"Alright then," Weiss growled, reaching for her own meal. "If that's how it's going to be…"
"Well, This Escalated Quickly!" Scythle screamed as she and the rest of her team ducked under a set of tables, overturned to protect them from the incoming projectiles.
Compared to what had become of the cafeteria, her assessment was an understatement. Within a few minutes, team JNPR had stacked numerous tables on top of each other, protected at their base by overturned vending and soda machines to create a make-shift fort. On top of the structure stood Nora, laughing triumphantly as she looked down at the deserted cafeteria, as the rest of her team stood at the base, ready to defend themselves.
"I Mean This Got Out Of Hand Really Fast!" Scythle commented, glancing up over the table before another watermelon splattered on her cover.
"Guys, the food fight wasn't until dinner!" Ruby called out.
"OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!" Nora yelled, swinging her arm to signal another barrage.
"Eh, we can move some stuff around." Ruby shrugged, looking out towards the cafeteria before her eyes widened. "Yang!" Ruby called out, quickly switching to strategic thinking. "Turkeys, due north-north-east! Blake, baguettes, north-west-west." As the black and yellow duo jumped into action, Ruby turned to look at her partner. "Weiss, swordfish, north… Swordfish?" Ruby asked, looking back up to confirm that she wasn't seeing things. "Who has a whole raw swordfish for breakfast?"
"Oh, They Got My Order!" Scythle yelled, blurring around the tables to collect as many pieces of watermelon and other such foods as she could. "Fire At Will!" Scythle yelled, jumping out of her cover to begin throwing the pieces of food. Pedals flew off of her as they swung, throwing each shot with as much speed and accuracy as her semblance would allow as Yang punched away incoming watermelons, using the turkeys as make-shift boxing gloves.
Scythle's shots were easily deflected by Pyrrha, who picked up a tray to use as a shield and a baguette to use as a sword. Clearing out the incoming attack, Yang threw one of her turkeys at the red-haired girl, only for Pyrrha to deflect it as well. Closing in on the blonde, Pyrrha pulled her make-shift weapon back and swung it at the brawler before Blake jumped over her, blocking the strike with her own baguettes as she locked Pyrrha into close-quarters-combat.
Changing targets, Scythle began throwing her attacks at the rest of team JNPR, before seeing Ren running down the remaining aisles, picking up a set of leeks on his way. In a blur of purple, Scythle darted down towards him, picking up a remaining half of a discarded watermelon before hoisting it over her head. As Scythle came in to smash it over the martial artist's head, Ren swung his leek at the attack, knocking it out of her hands before swinging his other leak at the girl's stomach, knocking her back. Skidding to her feet, Scythle looked up at the boy with a glare, before jumping up into the air and kicking her Scythleg forward.
*Click!*
"Oh, Crap, No Ammo!" Scythle gasped before Ren shot forward and swung his leek at the girl again, striking her in the head. As the girl stumbled back, Scythle quickly began scanning her surroundings, noting every bit of possible ammunition around her before sliding back to avoid Ren's next attack. Putting as much distance between herself and the boy as she could, Scythle quickly began spinning around, hooking any bit of food she could with her foot to kick it towards Ren. As Ren began deflecting her attacks, Scythle saw a tray full of pastries flying her way and quickly ducked to the floor to avoid the attack. Looking up as Ren closed the distance between the two of them, Scythle saw Jaune getting ready to throw another tray, and quickly slid under the table next to her to avoid Ren's next strike.
Bringing her legs up, Scythle kicked the table as hard as she could, throwing it up over the boy and dropping its contents on top of him. Using his moment of confusion, Scythle quickly spun around on the ground, sweeping his legs out from under him. As he fell, Ren swung his leek at the girl once again, striking her in the face and knocking her back. As the two began to pick themselves back up, Weiss skidded in on top of the tables, holding the large swordfish in her hand before stabbing into Ren's uniform jacket. Kicking a tray under her foot, Weiss knocked a bottle of ketchup into the air and caught it, before creating a glyph to block Jaune's attempt to throw a set of pastries at her.
As the tray fell to the floor, Weiss aimed her new weapon at the blond and squeezed as hard as she could, casting a set of glyphs to help launch a stream of ketchup at the boy's face. As his face was painted red, Jaune reached up to wipe the condiment off of his face, before Weiss once again began down the tables. Pulling the swordfish out, Ren prepared to swing at the white-haired girl's back as he got up before Scythle smashed a tray of foods into his face. Turning to follow the white-haired girl, Scythle noticed Pyrrha falling back towards the make-shift fort before the red-haired girl slammed down on a soda machine. With a thump, the machine spat out its content, launching another barrage at team RWBYS. Startled, each member ducked under a table, safe for Weiss, who brought up a glyph to act as a shield.
"So What's The Play Here?" Scythle asked, glancing up at Weiss.
"Ruby wants us to storm that castle." Weiss said, causing Scythle to smirk.
"Sounds Easy Enough." Scythle responded. "I Mean, It's Five On Three-And-A-Half."
Once the pelting of cans ended, Scythle jumped out of her cover, ready to dart off towards the structure before her cloak was snagged behind her. She was then thrown to the ground, momentarily startled as she realized Ren had just gotten up once again. The martial artist spun his leeks around in his hands before bringing them up, ready to begin beating the girl with them before a white glyph glowed to life over Scythle. As the produce made contact with it, the glyph flashed, launching the food out of Ren's hands, causing him to stumble back. As the glyph faded, Scythle quickly jumped to her feet, lurching forwards to grab Ren by his jacket and tie, before spinning around with an incredible amount of speed, throwing the boy towards the structure.
As Scythle began towards the structure, she glanced to the side to see Yang and Blake moving up as well, and smirked as she glanced to the left to see Ruby at her side. As the group began their charge, Weiss picked up another two bottles of condiments, while Blake grabbed a length of linked sausage. As the group approached her makeshift castle, Nora smirked before jumping behind the structure. As Ren and Pyrrha prepared their next assault, Nora jumped through the upper portions of her fort, carrying with her a flag pole before bringing it down on the table in front of her. Looking up at the team of five with a confident glint in her eyes, Nora lifted up her new weapon, having impaled a durian with the metal shaft.
Weiss quickly aimed her bottles, firing streams of yellow and green at the three in front of her, only for each of them to easily block her attacks before charging at the group. Spinning her make-shift hammer around, Nora brought it down onto the table in front of her, throwing the white-haired girl into the air. Ren threw one of his leeks at the purple-haired girl, before grabbing a tray off of the table next to him and launching its contents at the girl in red. As the two began their fight, Nora swung her weapon at Weiss, striking the girl with the hard fruit and throwing her back down the cafeteria. As Scythle caught Ren's attack and tried to grab at the boy, the martial artist spun around the purple girl, striking her in the back of the head as he once again grabbed her cloak. With an impressive amount of strength, Ren threw Scythle back into her sister.
Blake tried to wrap her whip around Pyrrha, only for the girl to catch the attack with her baguette, bringing up her shield to block Yang's attempt at a punch. The pan let out a loud clunk as it deformed with the impact before Pyrrha brought up her foot to kick the blonde back. As Blake pulled on her whip, she attempted to swing her baguette at Pyrrha, only for the girl to avoid the attack before knocking Blake away with her shield. Yang attempted to charge forward, only for a can of soda to roll under her foot, causing the blonde to trip before Pyrrha bashed her with her shield as well.
"Okay, These Guys Are Secondary Characters At Best," Scythle began as she picked herself up. "How Are We-" Before she could finish her thought, Nora jumped behind Ren, swinging her hammer into the girl's face and launching Scythle back across the cafeteria as well. As Scythle slammed into the wall, she cracked her eyes open to see Nora jumping across the tables to focus on Yang and Blake. As Pyrrha managed to isolate the latter, Nora focused on the blonde, knocking her around with her hammer before hitting Yang with an upswing. As Yang was thrown up into the air, Nora brought the hammer down on her stomach, slamming her into the table before Nora picked it back up. Before Nora could make her swing, Yang jumped back to her feet and away from the strike, only for Nora's attack to come down on the table. Acting as a catapult, the table threw Yang into the air, breaking through the ceiling.
Sliding to the ground, Scythle tried to shake off her daze, before Nora struck Blake with her weapon and launched the girl back as well. Looking back to the battle, Scythle's eyes widened as she saw Pyrrha and Nora closing in on her sister, attempting to fight off Ren with a tray. Picking herself up, Scythle dashed down the aisle before Weiss joined her, casting a glyph to retrieve her swordfish. Closing in on the group, Weiss swung her weapon at Pyrrha's, slicing the bread in half while Scythle tackled into Ren. Casting a glyph beneath her, Weiss launched whatever food she could into Pyrrha's face, causing the girl to stumble back before Weiss jabbed her weapon at her, pushing the girl back as Nora closed in on Ruby, lifting up her hammer to swing at the girl.
Bringing up her tray, Ruby prepared to block the strike before Scythle grabbed onto the metal shaft, attempting to yank it out of Nora's grip. "Okay, It's Well Past Time You Drop-" Scythle began as Ruby lifted the tray up, ready to bring it down on the ginger before Nora yanked Scythle off her feet. Swinging the weapon around in spite of the purple girl's protest, Nora swung at Ruby, striking her in the side and hooking Ruby into her spin. After a few moments, Nora launched the two back towards the other end of the cafeteria, slamming Ruby into the wall before Scythle slammed into her. "Boy, That Chick's Strong…" Scythle grunted as she once again cracked an eye open.
Pyrrha had found another weapon and was easily pushing Weiss back before Ren joined in, diverting the girl's attention between the two before Nora swung at her, once again launching her towards the rest of her team. With a start, Scythle shot forward, jumping off one of the tables to put herself in Weiss's path before catching the flying girl. As she was thrown back into the wall, Scythle took most of the impact, and looked down at the girl in her arms as she slid to the floor.
"Weiss, Weiss, Still With Us, Baby?" Scythle asked, giving Weiss a soft tap on the forehead. The girl just groaned before Scythle looked between the other two members of her team, who had still yet to get up. Looking back at the team approaching her, Scythle scowled at the three before cracking her neck, letting Weiss down softly before shooting forward.
In a blur, she darted in a zig-zag pattern towards the three approaching her, and the group got ready to counter her attack as Scythle made a b-line towards them, only to dart past the group towards the fortress they constructed. The three looked back in confusion before they felt the wind picking up behind them. Once they realized what Scythle was doing, they were lifted off their feet, dragged in Scythle's direction by the vacuum she had just created. Scythle, meanwhile, picked up a tray and held it in front of her, smashing through the fortress. As Scythle smashed through it, she glanced to the side to see Jaune cowering behind it.
"Don't Think You're Getting Out Of This!" Scythle yelled, darting to the side to drag Jaune into the vacuum, before continuing all the way towards the end of the cafeteria. Coming to a stop at the wall, Scythle smirked as she heard the loud bang accompany her halt, before darting to the side out of the path she had created.
Team JNPR smashed into the wall, and as they tried to pull themselves off, Pyrrha looked behind her to see a vortex filled with every last bit of food in the cafeteria coming at them, before her eyes widened in horror. "Oh dear." Pyrrha mumbled before she and her team were pummeled by Scythle's grand attack.
Once the vortex faded, Scythle darted towards the center of the cafeteria to look at her work. She smiled wickedly as she saw JNPR fall out of the splatter, leaving their silhouettes against the wall. Scythle pumped her fist with satisfaction as she turned to face her team. "Aw Yeah! That's What Ya Get When Ya Mess With The Best!" Before Scythle could comment on her pun, Glynda came in through the door, causing Scythle's eyes to widen with shock as she saw how angry Glynda looked. "O-Oh, Hey Glyndy. I-I Had Nothing To Do With That, I Swear."
"Now, children," Goodwitch growled, realigning her glasses as she pulled out her riding crop. "You should know not to play with your food." With a swing of her weapon, the room was covered in a purple glow, and all of the tables picked themselves back up off the floor. As they aligned themselves back into proper position, the purple energy stretched over the walls, causing the cracks to disappear as the plaster realigned itself as the same happened to the windows.
"H-Heh, Cool…" Scythle said nervously, watching as the room put itself back together around her as the rest of her team got up. Once everything was back in its proper place, Glynda let her wand down, and Scythle took another look around the hall to see the stains of foods and drinks remaining as Glynda began towards her. "Hey, Uh, Glynda… Not To Tell You How To Do Your Job Or Anything, But… There's Still A Mess."
"Oh, yes, I am well aware." Glynda said, swinging her arm once again. Putting her wand back in its holder, Glynda reached out and grabbed the floating mop and bucket, presenting them to the purple girl standing atop the table. "Now get to work, the Vytal Tournament Competitors will be here in a few hours. You are still on cleaning duties."
Taking the cleaning supplies out of Glynda's hand with an agape expression, Scythle quickly looked around the room once again before gesturing to the giant mess around her. "Bu-But It Will Take Me Forever To Clean This Up!" Scythle yelled.
"And it will take longer if you don't start soon." Glynda said, turning to leave the girl.
Scythle's eye twitched as she looked back at Team JNPR, seeing Nora approaching as Scythle began grinding her teeth. "Well Said, Pr. Goodwitch." Scythle growled. "But I Have No Idea How I'm Going To Clean Up All The Bloodstains."
"What bloodstains?" Goodwitch asked.
"These Ones!" Scythle yelled as she raised the mop above her head, charging at Nora before the girl began running. "Get Back Here You Bitch!"
With a wet slap, Scythle's mop hit the floor, and the girl stared down at the mess as she wiped it back and forth. "And Do Any Of Them Stay To Help Me? Nooooo." Scythle grumbled. "Nora Started The Whole Thing, You'd Think She'd Get Punished Too. Oh, But She's A Fan Favorite. We Can't Have That." Scythle went on before a loud crash broke through the ceiling over her head. In a yellow blur, Yang collided with the table beneath her, crushing it to pieces. Scythle didn't even look up at the blonde, completely unfazed by the event as she continued her work. "Hey Yang, What's The Weather Look Like For The Next Few Days?"
"Cloudy." Yang grumbled as she picked herself up.
"And Just Like That, Half The Day Is Gone!" Scythle complained to her team, now dressed in their clean, usual attire as they walked down the hallway. Spinning on her heal, Scythle turned to glare at the group. "Where Were You Guys? You Helped Make That Mess, You Could Have Helped Clean It Up!"
"We barely did anything for it." Blake pointed out. "You did. Why should we clean up a mess we didn't make?"
"Besides," Weiss interjected. "You should have thought of your responsibilities before you decided to create a food cyclone."
Scythle seethed a bit upon hearing Weiss's words and scowled at the girl as she raised a finger. "How Can You Be So Hot And So Cold At The Exact Same Time?"
"Well, anyway, we still have some day left." Ruby said, flipping through her oversized binder. "If we move around some stuff and stay up late, we might be able to cram everything into one day."
"How's about we not stay up on a school night?" Weiss suggested.
"But we have so many good movies to watch!" Ruby countered.
"Besides, I'm Pretty Sure Tomorrow's A Review Anyway." Scythle added, noting the new set of uniforms walking down the hall, quickly deducing they were a set of transfer students.
"Yeah, which you desperately need." Weiss countered. "Need I remind you what your grades are right now?"
"I'm Still Passing." Scythle pointed out, glancing back to get a better look at the new students.
"Yeah, by the skin of your teeth." Weiss continued to argue. "I refuse to have you drag down our team's performance grade, Diefull. You need to start pulling your own weight."
"Oh, Come On, Weiss, Why Don't You Tell Us Why You're Really Worried About My Grades." Scythle began teasing.
"What are you talking about?" Weiss asked.
"It's Okay, Weissy." Scythle continued. "I Know All About Your High Standards, And I Assure You, I Can Live Up To All Of Them."
"Oh, shut up!" Weiss lashed out.
"Cut it out, you two." Ruby said, slapping her binder closed before continuing to the front of the group. "Come on, we might be able to get a game of Remnant in if we're quick about it."
"You Know, I've Never Played That Game." Scythle noted as she and the group turned the corner. "I Always Thought A Game That's Just Called The Planet Would Be-" The words got caught in Scythle's throat as she caught a glimpse of someone walking past her. Stopping in place, Scythle quickly backtracked, looking around the corner to confirm what she saw.
"What?" Ruby asked, looking back at her sister as a smile grew across Scythle's face. "What is it?"
"Oh Fuck Yes!" Scythle said, before quickly rounding the corner again before her team followed after her.
Looking around the corner, Team RWBYS didn't have a chance to call out for Scythle to stop before she grabbed the green-haired girl's rear, causing the unaware girl to jump slightly before the rest of her team stopped. Team RWBYS was ready to let out a sigh and watch as the purple girl got pummeled by the group before Scythle spoke. "Hey, Greenie, You Miss Me Like I Missed You?"
Turning to look at the girl, red eyes widened as they met silver as the dark-skinned, green-haired girl's look of surprise disappeared. "Amethyst?" The girl asked, beginning to smile as she recognized the former criminal.
"The One And Only." Scythle said before the girl spun around to hug her, quickly snaking her own hand to Scythle's rear. Both groups looked on in confusion as they tried to process what they were seeing. Scythle acting perverted was nothing new, but Scythle acting perverted and her target liking it, and then grabbing her back?
"You know each other?" The girl's teammate, a grey-haired boy asked, taking the words out of Team RWBYS's mouths as the dark-haired girl next to him cocked an eyebrow.
"Oh yeah, we know each other." The girl nodded, glancing back at her teammate as Ruby approached.
"So, uh, sis…" Ruby began, still trying to understand what she was seeing. "Care to introduce us?"
"What, Didn't I Already Tell You Guys?" Scythle asked, unwrapping herself from the green-haired girl before gesturing to her, allowing her team to get a full look at her. "This Is Emerald. She's My Girlfriend." With a smile, Emerald raised her hand to greet the group as she and Scythle continued to squeeze the other's butt.
"Okay, so…" Weiss began, looking towards the dark-skinned girl. "How you two know each other, exactly?"
"Like she said," Emerald began, gesturing to the girl next to her. "I'm her girlfriend."
"… Yeah yeah, very funny." Weiss said. "But can you take this serious please?"
"We Are Being Serious." Scythle said. "We're An Official Thing."
"No, seriously, who is this girl." Weiss asked, and the two looked across the group to see a skeptical look on each of their faces. "I'm not interested in your jokes, Scythle."
"I'm Telling You, She's My-" Scythle continued trying to argue.
"Maybe this will clear things up." Emerald began, reaching for Scythle's cheek to turn the girl's face towards hers. As Emerald leaned in, Scythle closed her eyes and puckered out her lips, allowing Emerald's to meet hers as the two pressed themselves against the other. As they wrapped their arms around the other, their tongues shot into the other's mouth, beginning to explore the familiar cavity as their lips danced across the others. After a moment, the two separated, leaving a shining trail of saliva between their lips as they looked back to Team RWBYS to see the remaining members looking on in shock.
"W-wait…" Weiss began, pointing towards the green-haired girl. "So you're…" Weiss muttered out, before pointing towards her purple teammate. "And she's…" Weiss continued, seeing the two nod as her fingers pointed towards each other. "You're both… And you're… Scythle's… She has a…" Mumbling incoherently, Weiss began to lean backward, before falling to the floor with a thump.
"Weiss!?" Ruby yelled as she knelt down next to the white-haired girl.
"… Don't Mind Her," Scythle began, glancing towards her girlfriend. "She's Just Jealous."
So I know I said this fanfic would move into fix fic territory when I got to more canon stuff, but in my humble opinion, Volume 2 requires the least amount of fixing. There are still criticisms you can make on it: stupid plot points, horrible character decisions, the usual stuff RWBY gets criticized for, and I've read one thread completely break down Volume 2 scene by scene and explain every problem with it. But I still found it enjoyable, or at least an improvement over Volume 1, and still higher quality than Volume 3.
Having said that, though, I didn't originally plan to tackle anything post Volume 1 when I first started writing this fic. This fic was originally going to move in a completely different direction than what it currently is now, but when I came back to writing after a long period of not touching this fic, I decided to completely change gears. So I kinda need to form fit my earlier chapters to a rough outline of Volume 2's plot. Don't worry, I've already thought extensively about how to do that.
Now, to talk about this chapter specifically: I wasn't originally going to include Ozpin's talk with Ironwood in this chapter at all, but after I finished writing everything else, I decided 'Why not.' I also briefly debated placing it between Ruby and Scythle explaining their plan and the food fight, but I decided that the tone would just get thrown out of wack by that. That's all I really have to say about this chapter.
