Ladies and Gentlemen, and that technicolor in between, this is it. Caboose vs Carolina. Now we find out who the champion is. Number 1 or Caboose. The best student at the Project Freelancer private academy... or Caboose.
I got a review from Wolf: "Wolf:Dear church I have read all the chapters from 27 to now to catch up and must say that I can't wait for the fight between Caboose and Carolina as it'll be a battle between two very strong individuals one who has immense strength and the other has very high tech armor as we will see who comes out on top so till next time see you around and keep up the good work."
[Main Event Time]
The competitors lined up, almost shoulder to shoulder while they all prepared for their matches. Everyone who placed bets had their money clenched tight, those who had other reasons for being there clenched something else. None were more anxious or nervous, than Caboose for he would not only represent his school, his team but also his friends.
This time there was no special features added into the ring, no landscape changes, no random factors. Just the arena floor and whoever your opponent would be. Strength, speed, will, all of them would be tested but in the end, power is the name of the game.
In the Center of the Arena on the far left side was Caboose and far right Carolina as she glared at Caboose maliciously. Among the fighters were several mixed faces, along with Sun, Yang, Penny, Pyrrha who was looking rather down at the moment, Lopez and Mercury.
Port began his speech over the broadcast system in the booth, "Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for! The one-on-one finals! Barty, why don't you explain the rules?"
"Ah, it's quite simple, Peter. Instead of a bracket system, each round of the finals will be randomly determined IMMEDIATELY before the match takes place!" Doctor Oobleck explained.
"And just like any good bar fight or rumble, there will be no time to prepare." Boomstick added.
Wiz had the remote in his hands and pushed the button down, "Now let us see who are first match up will be..."
As the faces of the fighters spun around like slots on a gambling machine, everyone tightened up, wondering who they'd fight. No one moved, no one looked away, some didn't even breath as they stared at the big screen. When the spinning stopped, there was no sigh in relief, instead they looked up at one of the two fighters and back down at the other fighter.
"Starting off with a bang!" Port stated as he announced the fighters, "Michael J. Caboose Vs. Carolina Church."
Carolina looked back at her teammates from her "school" and waved back at them, ensuring that she would easily win. Caboose looked at his friends who were leaving and hugged them as they walked away to exit the arena. He them turned to the stands and nodded back at Church and Emerald, knowing he'd win this one for them.
When they finally looked at each other it was Carolina in her armor, and Caboose in his dark blue thin leather armor. A special made armor Church crafted so Caboose would have a great chance against, made to sponge up and stop bullets once they hit the fabric. Cutting edge body armor, even able to nullify the effects of any dust that Church could think of at the time.
When it was just the two of them in the ring, Carolina tried to make Caboose doubt himself, "So... instead of my brother, they chose you? This'll be easier than I thought."
"I know you don't really like Church, but it wasn't anyone's fault... Church is still your brother and he loves you... Your Dad loves you... you don't have to fight for anyone's love..." Caboose said as he place a hand on the strap of his rifle.
Carolina's angered expression was hidden behind her helmet but her tone was very clear, "So, was that little talk supposed to make me go easy on you?"
"No... it was supposed to let you know that I have no hate in me when I fight you." Caboose unholstered his rifle and prepared him self in his stance.
Carolina followed suit and aimed her electric submachine guns at Caboose.
Boomstick started the countdown sequence, "3... 2... 1... Aaaand FIGHT"
The two fighters both ran right shooting each other while running in a circle, both just missing each other by inches. Bullets whizzing past their heads as they kept on shooting ta the other. Eventually they both hit their marks; with Caboose hitting Carolina's shoulder, making her stumble and Carolina hitting his chest, while the armor absorbed the electric current and soaked it up.
Carolina=94% - Caboose=100%
She then ditched the SMGs and went for a more close range approach. Armed with a stun baton she rushed him while he was trying to reload his assault rifle. A left swing she had knocked his primary weapon onto the floor away from him, out of his reach. She then proceeded to whack him multiple times meanwhile all he could do was put his arms up to block. He soon found out that was a mistake as his exposed arms took the shock.
When dropped his arms Carolina took advantage and jabbed him right in his neck with the tip of her melee weapon. She held it there as she let the electricity enter through his body, letting only gurgles exit his mouth. Unable to withstand any more pain Caboose pushed through and grabbed her arm and pulled away the stick. While he had her in his arms he wound up a punch and delivered an uppercut directly in the her gut. The hit sent her back and made her felt her stomach was kissing her spine.
While the two regained their footing Caboose made a dive for his gun and revved up the motor. When Carolina went for another swing she had took out her own baton. Caboose was able to start up the chainsaw and cut her baton in two at the moment she took a strike. As he took aim Carolina roundhouse kicked his gun out of his hands.
Caboose knew this meant, they were about to go fisticuffs and duke it out with nothing but their bear hands. Carolina was more than fine with this, "Now this is gonna hurt you more than it will me."
"Okay... but... how bad will it hurt. I hope very little." Caboose said.
Carolina charged at Caboose with full speed and threw a flurry of attacks. Punches, kicks and combo moves all aimed at one man, with the intention to do harm. What she didn't see coming was that Caboose was able to block every single one using only his two hands.
On the sidelines Church smiled, as he knew Carolina met her match, "Caboose can easily match her speed. He almost broke my hand when I tested his reflexes."
"What did you guys do?" Emerald asked.
Church stayed silent and lowered his hat to cover his eyes, "Let's just say, Caboose is good at games."
Carolina gritted her teeth as she attempted to land a hit. Her mind raced as she kept strategizing, planning what to do next. She also thought, "Damn it! This guy is fast. He must be lazer focused in. There's no doubt that this fight is the only thing on this idiots mind."
In Caboose's mind his exact thought was, "Patti Cake, Patti Cake, Baker's man. Bake me a Cake as fast you can." as well as, " ... Life is like a hurricane... here, in, Duck-berg..."
Finally Carolina had enough and activated her semblance, accelerating her speed and heartbeat to a level many never seen before. She began to actually land hits on Caboose, critical hits. Aiming for the most sensitive spots to anyone: the kidneys, the jaw hinge, the side of the neck, the solar plexus, the bladder, the chin, even the nose. He was getting the beating of his life but still standing.
Carolina=78% - Caboose=43%
Caboose felt something in the back of his mind, nawing at him to go all out. To unleash his full power and finish this fight. So he did, finally...
After Carolina backed away, Caboose was struggling to stay standing on his two feet. But through grit and determination he stood and let out a roar, that echoed so loud that some say they heard it from outside the arena. What most felt in the arena was incredible... Caboose was showing a new power.
As he roared he felt a new amount of energy surging through his body that he never experienced before. A new found strength that pulsed through every part of him that gave him a new found boost. All now focused at Carolina.
Carolina, had enough of that stupid power up and decided to finish this fight her way. With a full charge she rushed Caboose, who's head was up, still shouting. When she went to make contact, he was quicker and saw her just before and delivered a huge uppercut. The hit sent her back, knocking her so far away that she only had a few feet before she was out of bounds. When she looked back she saw Caboose was gone, but she soon felt his presence, directly behind her. With a powerful back handed punch he launched her back into the center of the ring.
That two hit combo struck like a truck, on fire, and speeding towards her. Part of her helmet had been cracked open, where you could see her green left eye, her armor that amplified by her aura, was now busted and glitching. She once had the advantage but that short sudden burst left her below Caboose.
Carolina=22% - Caboose=43%
Caboose's sudden burst of power dimmed down and returned to normal as he walked over to Carolina. Kneeling to her level he put his hand out, "I'm done, if you wanna win, you win... I'll leave. But just know you don't have to keep fighting."
Carolina grabbed his hand but didn't get up, or let go, she just held it as she spoke with her head down, "I know... but what if I want to?"
"What?" Caboose confused by the change in the new voice backed away. Not quick enough as Carolina grabbed his hand and yanked it close. She then brought her knee and her free arm's elbow together, disclocating Caboose's arm. She then swept his leg, got on top of him and began punching his face multiple times.
This made Church worry as he grabbed the railings he was on and jumped over, "She's not gonna stop!" Rushing to the side of the stage he prepared an attack he worked on. A secret technique where he could expel an invisible force of energy at a target from a long distance and stun them.
With a quick blast of his he sent it, and stunned Carolina making her stop punching Caboose just in time as Atlas guards were rushing onto the stage. To hold her down, such display of both unsportsmanlike conduct and aggression was calls for disqualification.
As Church rushed to Caboose, the cowboy made sure that the big guy would be fine, "Hey, are you alright?"
"Church, she... didn't do it..." Caboose struggled to say through the pain.
Church looked back and forth between Carolina and Caboose, "What do you mean?"
"It wasn't her..." Caboose said... "It was something else..."
"Ohhh... fuck me." Church let out as he knew what this could mean.
[To be Continued]
Alright so I may say that doing this isn't easy and it may not get easier with time but I still enjoy it no matter what. But I just checked with my deadline, I only have a month before I have to go... do my thing. After that. I won't be here for around 4 to 5 months. And in which case I might only get 1 or 2 chapters of whatever I make. So let's hope I can finish Volume 3 and start off part 2 of this 4 part series. Yes this will only be part 1.
Until next time, Churchisalive signing off for now.
