Stolen Moments

You really don't know why you're surprised. After all, Wasn't it you who wanted to keep this light? No strings attached?

But you couldn't do that could you, each touch ended up meaning more than the last, each kiss broke down every strategically placed wall you built and every night you spent wrapped in her arms made you believe that maybe just maybe she felt it too.

You knew going into this that Quinn Fabray was never really yours, not forever at least, only during the hours she was able to sneak away.

A familiar song plays on the radio and you watch her sleep, a million things flood your mind

I shoulda known it wouldn't happen 'cause it wasn't right

I shoulda known it 'cause it happens every God damn time

Almost thought we could've been something

Almost thought we could have tried, but

It didn't happen so I need you to get out my life

But the other night I had you in my head

Called you on the phone

Want you stealing my time even though I said I wanna be alone

Oh and I should know this could never work

Oh, this could never end well

Know it's only human but I never learn

I want you for myself

I can take the fall, the pain, the pleasure

And you can take it all, for worse, or better

But oh, what if we're wrong?

What if we're not all that we thought?

Then we won't make it along

But hey, I guess that's us

We couldn't help it but you know that doesn't make it right

You say I'm selfish but I know you felt the same inside

Everybody says it's all okay

Everybody says we're fine, but

Guess someone else is what you need to make you feel alright

But tomorrow night I'll probably call a cab

Show up at your door

Love you in the night time, leave you in your bed

Cold and wanting more

Oh and I should know this could never work

Oh, this could never end well

Know it's only human, but I never learn, I need you for myself

I can take the fall, the pain, the pleasure

And you can take it all, for worse, or better

But oh, what if we're wrong?

What if we're not all that we thought?

Then we won't make it along

But hey, I guess that's us

Hmmm

Hmmm

Hmmm

Hmmm

I can take the fall, the pain, the pleasure

And you can take it all, for worse, or better

But oh, what if we're wrong?

What if we're not all that we thought?

Then we won't make it along

But hey, I guess that's love

Moving her short blonde hair aside you quietly exhale slowly running your hand down her back, making sure to memorize every dip, every freckle.

You marvel in all that she's been though. The scars have all but faded but you remember each and every one don't you. Whether you admit it out loud or not it's you who has been in love with her, ever since you first saw her newly pink skank hair flowing down the corridor that glorious Tuesday morning.

Now your fingers are on autopilot and you're pretty sure you've counted each and every freckle on her beautiful face but you do it again. You've kissed every inch of that flawless body countless times but you do it again and again, smiling as she trembles because you know exactly what she wants.

Why? because for these beautifully stolen moments, it's your name tumbling off her perfect lips and in these beautifully shared moments, she is yours and only yours.

Now she begins to slowly stir and it makes you freeze because you know if she wakes up this fantasy is all over. Luck seems to be on your side today because all she does is turn over so that now her nose is securely tucked under your jawline and her breath now hits your neck.

You close your eyes gently messaging her scalp just the way she likes it and think about all the times you've felt that very same breath against your lips across your shoulder blades and on other intimate places making you shudder.

Because no, she's not yours and truth is she probably never will be but right now? Under the pale moonlight that somehow makes her seem to glow, she is yours and maybe for tonight that's enough
