Some fluff for your heart. For those hard days…..We definitely miss you
"You know, maybe me coming here with you was a mistake, Santana"
"Stop Rachel, need i remind you, it was you who insisted we come here, it's valentine's day and this is my favorite gay bar, now come on, you'll be fine. Eh, you probably won't be but let's go in anyways"
The shorter brunette rolls her eyes heading towards the bar pulling her laughing friend in tow
"Santana, I know you and Quinn normally celebrate tonight together and since she's out of town on business, I just wanted to do spend it with you"
The now sad latina takes a seat at the bar exhaling "Thanks Rach and I appreciate it, just don't think you're getting lucky or anything, I's belongs to a sexy ass blonde"
"Stop" Rachel says laughing
.
Quinn and Santana had been dating for three years, after the failed wedding hook up, they could no longer deny the attraction and decided to see where an actual, real relationship could take them. Both secretly worried that their previous history, the relationship would be doomed from the beginning, but were pleasantly surprised at what an amazing couple they made, you know once they moved past slapping each other of course.
.
As both friends move to a booth near the stage, Santana orders another drink.
"Since when do you drink martinis?" Rachel laughs pointing at her friend
"Since my girlfriend ain't here to share hers, so shut it Berry"
Rachel puts her hands up in surrender, a few moments later the lights dim as the bar patrons take their seats.
.
A familiar song starts to play and Santana's ears perk up as she releases a deep sigh
"Oh, for fucks sake"
"What's wrong San?"
"This is our song Rach, Q's and mine"
"I'm Sorry Santana, I wasn't aware you two had a song"
Both friends look towards the stage the spotlight hits the singer and Santana's breath hitches
.
And I'd give up forever to touch you 'Cause I know that you feel me somehow You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be And I don't want to go home right now And all I can taste is this moment And all I can breathe is your life And sooner or later, it's over I just don't wanna miss you tonight
.
As the music plays, the blonde begins to sway, placing one hand in the back pocket of her jeans while the other goes over her heart, she gently taps it three times. The stunned and now teary eyed brunette returns the gesture then brings both hands up to her lips, blowing her girlfriend a kiss.
.
And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming Or the moment of truth in your lies When everything feels like the movies Yeah, you bleed just to know, you're alive
.
As the blonde grabs the mic the spotlight follows and she makes her way off the stage, into the cheering crowd.
Hazel eyes search the crowd for brown and when they meet, Santana begins to cry.
.
And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am

The song ends and everyone in the small crowded bar is on their feet, cheering. The brunette rushes out of the booth pulling her girlfriend into a searing kiss that causes the bar to erupt again with even louder applause. As Santana's hands hold on to Quinn for dear life, the blonde smiles into the kiss latching onto her girlfriend's hips. They stand lost in the moment, both overcome with love and happiness, the blonde pulls back to mumble something.
.
"What babe?" The brunette asks, tilting her ear but before a response can be given, Quinn drops to one knee. Santana's hands move to cover her mouth as she looks over to Rachel who smiles, phone in hand, recording. Turning back to a crouched down Quinn, the brunette smiles.
.
If someone had told her years ago that the person standing in front of her, the girl demoted her to the bottom of the pyramid, who fought her in the hallways and also slapped her countless times, would be the same girl who would put all the pieces of her broken heart back together again, she'd probably laugh in their face. Never in a million years did Santana Lopez think that Quinn Fabray would be the one drying her tears at night, or the one who stayed up late helping her study because she wanted to graduate early from Columbia, but here they are. In the middle of a bar, gay bar no less, on valentines day, professing their love like two teenagers in love and Santana loved every minute of it.
.
Quinn looks up, hopelessly in love with the girl who somehow stole her heart all those years ago and there's so much love in her girlfriend's eyes it's overwhelming.
So, with tears in her own eyes, the brunette brings her girlfriend back to her feet, nodding as she says something she's waited years to say.
.
"YES"
