The cafeteria was rather simple. There were few tables, each one occupied by six ghosts, two ghosts were at the food line with one ghost behind the counter, and two police ghosts were guarding the entrance with four police ghosts guarding against the balcony above.
They look at one table, with four ghosts that were coloured in that they knew, and two that are were the background that he most likely doesn't. Skulker was sitting in the front on the right, Technus on the left, Desiree behind Technus and The Box Ghost behind Skulker.
Technus had his fists clenched on the table, one of them with a spoon. There was a food tray in front of him. Desiree was sitting next to him, doing the same thing. The other side of the table. Skulker was sitting in the front, with his fists clenched on the table, one of them with a spoon. There was a food tray in front of him, also. The Box Ghost is next to him, doing the same thing.
Danny gave a weak chuckle. "Wow, heh, pretty much everyone who hates me all at one table. Just like high school"
Suddenly, everyone stood up and walked toward them, Technus was grasping his fist in his hand. It did not take much time for the four ghosts to approach them and trap them from any exits by the sides. Lina had pushed Danny slightly behind her, glaring at each of the ghosts but she was not confident at all of what would happen if all four of them charged.
"Sorry we can't stay and catch up on old times," she said, trying to sound as brave as she hoped she was, but she had her doubts.
Danny moved back by reflex as the ghosts kept coming closer and closer. He ended up, though, bumping on someone and getting into the line for the food. As if their luck was not bad enough, a familiar ghost was serving the food.
"Can I get anything, dearies? Coffee? Pudding? An extra helping of DOOM?!" The Ghost Lunch Lady said, clearly not having forgotten how Lina and Danny fought and defeated her.
As she said this, she reaches over the table with the ladle, her hair flailing under her hairnet. She then lunged at Danny, who was the closest, with her ladle, laughing as she continued to fly forward.
Lina grabbed Danny by the wrist and flew out of her way, wanting to dodge and avoid her attack. However, something blocked their way. A hard, metallic chest that belonged to none other than Skulker.
"Hello, ghost kids," he said and pushed them off him, almost making them lose their balance.
As the ghosts started to surround them, they were forced to stay back to back; hoping to cover one another. However, that failed when Desiree appeared between them and separated. Lina was thrown towards Technus and Danny towards a different ghost.
Lina bumped on him and dodged a punch by the bulky robot arm, just in time. She ducked another one and quickly took a few steps back, searching for Danny. Her back met with a metallic obstacle and she mentally cursed herself, not having to think twice before she knew who the ghost behind her was.
Just as she expected, she received a strong attack that sent her to the ground. Landing on her back that was already sore from before, she puffed some air out of her mouth as she tried to stand up. At the same time, Danny, who had been pushed around by different ghosts, was thrown at Technus.
The Ghost gave him a good slap with his robot arm, sending him to the Lunch Lady. The woman traps him into a headlock while he is still standing and he is unable to break free. Lina was grabbed by the back of her neck and was thrown at Technus, who grabbed her by the neck in a tight grip.
She tried to fight back by clawing at the metallic arm but she only ended up hurting her fingers. She watched as Skulker approached the trapped Danny, one fist grabbed by the other hand, making a metallic clang sound.
"Payback time, ghost child!"
As the other ghosts surround him, Lina keeps trying to free herself but Technus has a good enough grip to almost knock any air coming into her lungs, not truly needing it that much but it was still far from a comfortable feeling.
Danny watched at the struggling Lina and the ghosts coming closer, yet in his panic and fear; his brain and mouth got into work. "Wait! I'm not the enemy here, neither is Angel. I mean, yeah…we sent you all back to the Ghost Zone but we didn't lock you up here, did we?"
The Ghost Box agreed with him but before he could continue with his ranting, Skulker pushed him away. "Go on." The ghost hunter demanded.
"If we work together we could all bust out of here. And you could always kick our butts later."
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend, for now".
With those words, both halfa were released. Lina had been thrown next to Danny, rubbing her neck and coughing slightly. Her friend helps her up as they turn to face the others, exchanging a look.
Lina had heard his little talk and had mentally agreed. She was thankful for his quick thinking and above-average way of giving talks, apparently good enough to save them from such a situation.
"Here's what we do..."
Once Danny had explained the plan, he looked at everyone who nodded; understanding the assignment.
"This won't work" Lina suddenly said, arms folded in front of her chest.
"Angel, I know you want to take my place. But it's better if I do this. Plus, you got harmed enough by Walker on my behalf" Danny said.
The female halfa shook her head slightly. "One, I am fine. Two, I do not mean that. Walker will be watching. If you only end up in a fight and I am nowhere nearby, he will suspect something"
"The girl is right," Technus said, standing by her right. "Those two are always together"
Skulker simply grinned, cracking his neck. "Then, we will simply give them a beating; together"
It did not take long for the plan to take an effect. A fight had taken place, drawing the attention of a lot of the prisoners who chanted with their arms raised.
"Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"
Punches could be heard before Danny screamed, all while being flagged out of the crowd. He slid on a table through many trays that still have gelatinous tan food on them and a glass of green liquid. He kept going, flying toward the pot, colliding into it. It got turned over and the green liquid in the pot smothered him.
Skulker is seen walking towards him before he is tackled by Lina, who had come from the side. During the flight, she had enough momentum to send Skulker flying to the side, all while feeling her body still sore and complaining from the sudden hit with the metallic exoskeleton of the hunter.
Ghost Police come right through the doors, separating the crowd and keeping back Lina and Skulker, who were busy glaring at one another and struggling against the captors; who threatened to zap them if they continued.
One ghost police heads towards Danny, whose aura was changing from green to white and back to green. When he noticed them, he tried to stand up and grabbed his leg. "Ohhh... My ghost leg!"
"Another one for the infirmary." He said.
Before he could do anything, Danny charged and delivered a very good punch. He sent the ghost flying and at the same time, had managed to grab his green stick. Without a second thought, he tosses it to the side where Skulker grabs it.
"Attack!" the hunter ordered as the crowd around them went into mayhem.
All the prisoners raged, attacking any Ghost Police that entered the cafeteria. Our heroes worked with their enemies to ensure no ghost police escaped.
Two guards appeared and grabbed Technus from both sides. However, he simply lifted his robot body and thrust them off, making them crash into the counter. Desiree floated up from behind, grabbed two buckets that were on the counter, and slammed them over the guard's heads in green liquid.
She smiled in satisfaction and started to fly away when a guard had his stick ready and aimed at her. However, Lina came fast and delivered a kick at the guards up, making the stick look upwards and the laser miss. Then, she flew up and let her knee hit the guard under the chin, sending him flying to the nearest wall.
She left out some air from her nostrils and grabbed the green stick. Turning around, she looked carefully, aimed and hit any ghost guard she could see; trapping them into the similar cuffs she was forced into before.
Skulker and Danny worked as a team, hitting one ghost guard after the other in successful and powerful hits. Each guard they sent flying, was hit by Lina and the green stick, trapping them and ensuring they were not a threat to them anymore.
Their cool moment was interrupted when 6 more guards appeared, blocking the doorway. All of them had the familiar green pole and a shield to ensure no prisoner would be able to escape. They started to shoot the green laser from their poles, hitting one ghost prisoner under the other.
To everyone's rescue came the Lunch Lady who approached the guards with a tray of red apples. "Can I offer you, gentlemen, some apples?" They looked at each other in confusion and shook their heads no. "Then dine on my FURY!"
Her gloved hands started to glow, the light being so bright that it reflected on the visors of the guards. Lina lifted one hand to block some of the light as it became brighter until it stopped. And then she saw, the scary lunch lady holding a large chicken drumstick.
She swang it with might, slamming the guards on the wall and making a huge opening there. Lina watched impressed and slightly scared, since lunch Lady was from the first ghosts they had fought. And she was strong, making her realize how lucky they had stood when they first fought her; when they did not even truly have any control of their powers.
Not that they did now but there was at least some improvement ever since that day.
Skulker led the prisoners out of the hole, zapping any guard he saw on sight as everyone headed for the exit. However, after a certain distance, both Danny and Lina moved away from the crowd, heading almost in the opposite direction.
The ghost hunter was the first one to notice. "You're going the wrong way!
"Yes, sweeties" the lunch lady continued. "You're supposed to riot with the guards here And face your doom out there! *holds a pie out of nowhere* Pie?"
Lina shakes her head politely. Danny was the one to speak. "No thanks, *exchanges a look with Lina* we have some unfinished business with the warden."
"Okay"
The other ghosts continued but Skulker stayed behind. "Good luck, children. I look forward to hunting you, on the other side."
Both halfa had confused expressions on their faces. "Thanks….I think?" They look at each other confused as Skulker continued his way to freedom.
Once ready, they headed straight for the office of the dictator warden that had them locked in there in the first place. They owed him some payback for what he did to them and they also needed that gift back. First, though, they had to change back to their normal suits.
By the time they came to a halt in front of the metal door, they can already hear him shouting in the PA microphone. "Guards, what's going on down there? Somebody answer me!"
The two halfa look at each other before they kick the door open, making one hell of a dramatic entrance. "How about saying "please"?" Danny asked.
Lina smirked. " Saying "please" is a rule."
Walker was taken aback by surprise. "It is?" he asked and quickly grabbed the rulebook, actually searching for it.
The book had many paragraphs that read sections A-D. Walker's finger was on Section C. Danny's hand came and slammed the book on Walker's finger, making Walker have a pined expression.
"Is now?" the male halfa said with pride.
Lina watched satisfied, enjoying the moment until she noticed something floating close by. "Danny! The present!"
She shouted for him and moved fast for the present, Danny doing the same. However, Walker had recovered from the sudden attack and had grabbed Danny's ankle, stopping him inches away from the present. He then swang the male halfa and used him to slam Lina on the ground, making her fingers miss the present by mere inches.
She got slammed by the weight of Danny and the force of Walker's attack, making her fall on the floor with her front. She got dazzled for a moment, her body complaining from the pain. The weight was lifted off her as Walker pulled the also injured Danny, still from the ankle. Walker kicked Lina at the side, sending her sliding across the floor of his office before he slammed Danny on the floor as well.
The Halfa tried to recover but found a boot pressing on his chest, keeping him down. He tried to use his hand and push the boot off him but he was not a strong one.
"Now let me acquaint you with a few rules" Walker started as he lifted one finger, making sure to keep adding pressure on Danny's chest. "Rule one. You cross me, you pay the consequences. " he held up a second finger. "Just because you're a ghost doesn't mean I can't crush you *Clenches a fist* within an inch of your afterlife. *holds a third finger* Rule three-"
Lina watched from the other side of the room, one hand holding her side as she struggled to lift herself. She glared at Walker, seeing him harming Danny but she could not move to stop him. Yet, that moment that felt like centuries, was quickly interrupted by the Specter Speeder that phased through the wall.
Inside was Tucker, holding the controls, and by his side was Sam that had her hands pressed against the window.
"Tucker, Sam! How'd you get in here?" Danny asked as Lina had managed to lift herself on one knee.
"Check it out! Real-world stuff just phases through everything in here." Tucker explained with a grin.
Lina had managed to lift herself and she looked at her friends. "You mean…"
Sam gave a nod. "In the Ghost Zone, we're the ghosts!"
"We're the ghosts? So... maybe it's time to stop fighting like a ghost...And start fighting like a kid!" Danny said and returned to human form.
Suddenly, he was translucent as Walker's boot sank into Danny's body. Walker was thrown back, aghast at what happened. In the meantime, Danny stood up and easily walked away from the Prison Warden and towards the present.
"I will take that!" he said as he grabbed the present and started to walk towards the speeder.
Walker tried one last attempt to grab Danny but each try only ended up with his hands passing through the boy's body.
"Why… can't…I…touch you?!" he asked between failed attempts.
Danny smirked as Lina walked towards him, still in her ghost form. Walker tried one last time, tackling Lina or so he thought. For the moment he came close, she turned to human and the ghost warden phased through her.
She watched with personal satisfaction as he fell to the ground, defeated and shocked. Sam opened the door to the speeder and she gladly climbed inside, her body happy to be sitting somewhere comfy.
"Forget it, Walker. This is the Ghost Zone, we are not just ghosts, we are humans. Your rules don't apply" Danny said as he placed the gift under his arm and with his other hand grabbed the back of the speeder as it drove away.
In Spittoon, night had fallen and the moon was full and bright. Maddie had been sitting on the porch of her cousin, Alicia, at her cottage. Then all of a sudden, Jack had shown up. Having been guided by a bunch of single farmers of the area, he had a poem for his wife.
However, as he tried to read it, he realized that was not him. And with a sigh, he dropped the idea. Yet, as he looked at his wife for many years, he felt he had to fight for her and do one last try. And thus, he opened his heart and talked honestly.
"You know I can be a fool, and you know that I can forget things. But the one thing you know more than anything even more than that ghosts exist and that your sister is a bitter old bat, and that I love you, baby."
Maddie was indeed touched and she lifted her hands to her mouth. "Oh, Jack."
And,…I wanted to give you... To give you... " Jack came to a stop, remembering that in his hurry he had forgotten the present back in the lab.
Maddie seemed to have realized that. "You forgot the present, didn't you?"
As jack tries to find an excuse for the missing present, someone came from the sky to save him; literally.
"No, he didn't," Danny said as he, Lina and Jazz jumped from an aeroplane with the help of small white parachutes. They all land close to Jack, Danny being the one holding the present that Lina and he got into so much trouble to save from the ghost zone.
"H-He kept it at home…uh, so the mosquitoes wouldn't get it?"
"Good boy. You're getting a raise in your allowance for this." Jack whispered to Danny's ear as he took the present from him.
"I have an allowance?" Danny questioned confused and looked at his adopted sister who shrugged her shoulders.
"Happy anniversary, baby! And I'm sorry. I'll try to be better about *Maddie hugs him* things in the future."
"You guys aren't getting a divorce?" Danny finally asked, voicing out that one thing that had upset them all, especially the three kids.
"Divorce? Who said anything about us [getting a divorce?" Maddie questioned, holding the present and looking at them.
Quickly though, was proven that the kids had heard it all wrong. The divorce was simply th anniversary of Alicia after getting divorced. And there was a party planned to celebrate, as odd as it may sound for the teenagers.
However, in the end, all went well. The Fentons would stay one big weird family, Jazz stopped worrying about being wrong and the two halfa had a chance to feel normal again; after their crazy adventure.
Yet, they were unaware of what would follow them in their lives…as to what they faced that day, which was only a small taste of what was expecting them.
