The Furious Wolf
Disclaimer: I do not own Halo or The Fast and Furious series, they belong to their respective owners.
Edboy: Cheers man!
Darksblade: Sorry about the hiatus, hope this chapter was worth the wait.
Grudgematch: They won't be looking at his engine this chapter, but when they do I'm sure they'll be stunned when they see an engine they've never seen before; even more so when Six tells them that he built it.
Slim A Lou Prime: Glad to hear it, hope you enjoy this chapter.
A Sleeping Moon: For the time being it's only Six and Dot from the Haloverse/future, depending on which route I go. But I might add INI Spartan-IV's later down the line since aside from Brixton Lore, none of the Fast and Furious villains are a threat to Six. And no, I don't believe that Dom was sleeping around, but judging from Letty's rather cool demeanour when Dom wraps his arms around the blonds at the race, I always got the impression that his flirting happened a lot.
HaloZealotDemon: Maybe if this took place in the DC or Marvel universe I'd agree with you. However, since Fast and Furious is meant to be a realistic world, or at least it was before they started pulling off superhuman feats, I can't see many people agreeing with Six's methods. It would be like if it suddenly came on the news that some vigilante had started to take the law into his own hands and killing criminals. Sure, some might approve, but mostly people would just see them as another murderer.
Jestalnaker94000: Thanks! And don't kill me, but I still haven't watched The Boys apart from a few clips on YouTube so I really couldn't say.
Azai Jin: I'm glad you liked it and hope you enjoy this one too!
Statess: Not in this chapter, no.
Seros109: Unlike in my last version, I thought that I would keep Flass alive mostly because the entire police force would be calling for Six's head if he murdered a cop, albeit a dirty one, without proof of the crimes he had committed.
Sniperbro1998: Maybe in time, but right now there isn't really any need for her to have an artificial body.
Hunter 139: Not a bad idea, maybe one I might have to incorporate into the story if it's alright with you.
Kiran Punnoose: No doubt Mia will be the one to heal Six and revert him back to how he was before Noble Team died, maybe even heal the pain that was there long before that too. With her he'll finally be able to have something that he never once dreamed of having...a family.
War Sage: Thanks man, I appreciate it.
Brian like pretty much every other cop in the city wants to catch the Ghost, and while he is spot on about the Ghost and Jericho being one and the same...it's unlikely that he'll ever be able to link the two together unless one of the endgames I have planned for the first movie happens.
Yeah, I wasn't that clever about hinting what might happen in the second film.
Glad you liked it.
There won't be any other Spartans for the time being, but later down the line a few rouge Spartan-IV's might make an appearance since they're the only ones that can be seen as a threat to Six.
Chapter 9.
"You know you could've worn something a little more revealing if you wanted to get Gigantor's attention." Letty remarked as she sat behind the wheel and followed behind Dom as they both raced down the empty country roads after leaving Los Angeles and headed to Jericho's so that Dom could hand over the Mazda like he had promised after losing the race; something she was still having a hard time accepting.
For as long as she had known him, Dom had never lost a race. Not ever...and yet Scarface comes along and thrashes him like he was a rookie. Not only that, but if what Mia said was true and she wasn't just blowing smoke up his ass then he hadn't even been trying.
Fuck, man! She really wanted to see what he had underneath the hood of that Challenger.
"First off, there is nothing wrong with my outfit." Mia insisted sitting next to her and wearing a simple pink dress that had red frills around the arm and neck. "Secondly, I'm not trying to get Jericho's attention." She added as he looked out the window and admired the beautiful countryside that could be seen as far as the eye could see. Compared to the overpopulated Los Angeles, it was like something out of a fairy-tale.
"Sure you're not." Letty snorted as she continued following Dom. "Since we've met Scarface, you haven't shut up about him." She noted as Mia turned to look at her.
"I find him interesting." Mia told her. "And do you have to keep calling him that? He has a name, you know?"
"Don't get your panties in a twist, girl." Letty rolled her dark eyes at her. "Besides, I don't see the big guy having a problem with my nicknames."
"Probably because you've never called him that to his face." Mia pointed out as she turned back to stare out of the passenger window. "For all you know those scars might have painful memories for him...I can't imagine getting them were painless either."
"You really think that I'm the first person to bring them up?" Letty questioned as she saw Dom slow down and turn down a byroad. "But it's cute that you're defending your boyfriend." She added playfully as she slowed down and turned down the road and followed the Mazda.
"He's not my boyfriend."
"Not yet." Letty corrected as she raced after Dom who took off ahead. "Give it a few days and no doubt I'll see you limping out of your bedroom...assuming of course that Gigantor doesn't break you." She grinned as she spotted trees on both sides of the road in the distance.
"Does everything have to be about sex?" Mia asked tiredly shaking her head as they entered the shade created by the trees blocking out the sun.
"Don't be such a prude." Letty commented as the Mazda slowed down and turned down another byroad that adjourned with trees. "I'm trying to help you out here, girl."
"I'm fine taking care of my own love life."
"Love life?" Letty asked pulling a face. "I'm talking about getting you laid."
"How many times do I have to say it?" Mia asked turning to look at her. "I don't just screw people I don't know...no matter how attractive I find them." And she did find him attractive.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, you said that already." Letty dismissed her. "But like I told you, technically you do know Scarface...at least all the stuff that matters." Personally, she didn't get why she was pussyfooting around and acting like a schoolgirl with a crush. Mia obviously liked him, he was hot, single and in desperate need of a good fuck to loosen up considering how rigid he was.
Hell, if anything she would've been doing him a favour...and it wasn't like she wouldn't get anything out of it, unless the big-guy was a one pump chump.
The Latina was pulled from her thoughts regarding lil-Jericho when she saw Dom slowing down and turning into what she could only guess was an opening in the trees. Mirroring her boyfriend, she slowed down and pulled up next to the Mazda and leaned back as she stared at the massive property in front of her, one that was easily bigger than the street they lived on.
"Are you sure this is the right place?" Mia asked as she stared at the huge estate that Jericho apparently owned. While it was beautiful, having a place as large as that must have been incredibly lonely if you lived alone. She couldn't even imagine living in her own home alone let alone as one as big as that...but maybe Jericho had friends that came round every now and again so that he wasn't completely cut off from everything and everyone.
At least she hoped so...
"It fucking better be after how long it took us to get here." Letty shot back. "I mean who the fuck lives all the way out here anyway?" She questioned, although it was more to herself than anything. "The last house we saw was a few miles back."
"I think that's why he brought it." Mia pointed out, subtly reminding her of Jericho's past and him clearly wanting to be left alone...another reason she felt a little guilty about intruding on his privacy.
"Maybe," Letty concurred before turning to look at Dom. "You sure you got the right address?" She asked repeating Mia question.
"This is the address on his file." Dom informed her as he looked down at his satnav that had giving him the directions to Jericho's place.
"Something is not adding up about this guy, man." Letty stated as she looked between the property and her boyfriend. "There is no way in hell that he can afford a place like this on a soldier's salary."
"Agreed." Dom concurred as his mind seemed to run a mile a minute. "This place had to cost...what, a mil, maybe more? If so, then where the hell did he get the money to afford this place?"
"Perhaps his parents left him some money when they died?" Mia offered, even if she didn't sound all that convinced herself.
"What parents do you know that leave their kids a few million dollars before they snuff it?" Letty asked looking over her dark sunglasses.
"Plenty. This is Los Angeles, after all." Mia reminded her.
"I guess," The Latina murmured mulling it over. "Still not buying it though." She told her. "If his parents left him that money then would he join the Army?"
"Didn't his file say something about his father-figure inspiring him?" Dom spoke up drawing their attention. "Not that it really matters, we're here now." He stated as he shifted in his seat. "Let's get this over with."
"Still butthurt that you've got to hand over the Mazda?" Letty grinned at Dom who gave her a dry look.
"No." Dom replied, although there some bitterness in his voice. "Come on, let's get this over with." He said pulling away and heading up the driveway and towards the house that sat atop the hill.
"Yep, he's sulking, alright."
"You're enjoying this." Mai stated getting a smirk from Letty as she drove through the gate and followed behind Dom.
"Maybe a little," The Latina admitted as headed up the driveway. "Guess we know where Gigantor has been working on his car." She remarked nodding to the large workshop over at the side.
"Assuming we got the right address." Mia voiced as they followed slowly behind Dom as they headed up the driveway. "And that he's in... I mean the gate was open, maybe he went out."
"If he is then we'll just wait until he gets back..." Letty began to say before her voice trailed as her eyes landed on something in the garden. "Is that a fucking tennis court?" She blurted out upon seeing as she passed the workshop.
"Looks like it," Mai said before her own eyes landed on the massive lake at the back of the property. "This place really does seem to have everything." She voiced softly as she took everything in.
"Alright, it's official, you've got to get with Scarface." Letty decreed getting a look from the woman next to her. "What?! Looking at this fucking place, man! It has everything you could ever want, and the house is nothing to sneeze at either." She added as they reached the top of the driveway and pulled up in front of the large home, one that had a rather unconventional design but not the oddest they had ever seen...they were from Los Angeles after all.
"I'm not interested in his money."
"Don't be selfish, think of your family." Letty chided playfully as she turned the engine off.
"I think you've all got enough money, don't you?" Mia said quietly, referring to their latest money-making scheme, something that she had been vehemently against from the very start. Street Racing one was thing, it was the one thing that keep Dom's passion for racing alive after being banned from the track for life, but hijacking? Everything about what they were doing was wrong, and despite what Dom thought, he was not some kind of criminal mastermind.
They were getting in way over their heads; but how long until the Ghost turned his attention onto them?
"Look, I don't like it either." Letty sighed, already expressing her concerns to Dom. "But Dom knows what he's doing."
"And how long until the Ghost comes after you?" Mia questioned as Letty bit her bottom lip.
"He won't come after us," Letty insisted, although there was a softness to her voice as if she was trying to convince herself more than Mia. "He doesn't touch thieves, everyone knows that."
"I hope you're right...for all our sakes." Mia whispered as she climbed out of the car missing the apprehensive look that Letty had. While she would never admit it out loud, the prospect of the Ghost coming after them fucking terrified her. Everyone had heard the stories of how he hunted down and butchered criminals across the state, it was all anyone had spoken about for the last year.
And while the Ghost seemed to target specific criminals, mostly murderers, child molesters and all that shit, now that they were jacking trucks and stealing millions of dollars' worth of goods were they now on his radar? If so, how long was it going to be until he came for them? She had spoken to Dom privately about it where he had promised that they would be long gone before he caught wind of what they were doing, hence the whole shock and awe mentality they utilized for the hijackings.
Shaking her head seeing as how they were here to see Gigantor rather than worrying about the Ghost, Letty climbed out of the car and slammed the door before following Dom and Mia who were already heading towards the front door. Stopping behind the siblings, she watched as her boyfriend knocked on the front door and waited for a few moments.
"Maybe he's not in." Mia offered when got no answer. "I mean the gate was open when we got here," She repeated once again as she tugged at her dress to smooth any of the creases out and patted her hair down.
"Or he just didn't hear us." Dom said as he knocked the door harder. "I mean it's not like this place is small." He added, again wondering how the hell Jericho could afford to buy the place and where he got the money from. Because he sure as hell didn't buy it on a soldier's salary, no way.
"You can say that again." Letty agreed looking up at the house. "Still don't get how he can afford this place, though." She continued as she stared at the odd-shaped building.
"Is it any of our business?"
"Jumping to your boyfriends defence again?" Letty grinned earning a dirty look from Mia.
"Would you keep it down?" Mia hissed at her as she looked around making sure that Jericho couldn't hear them, assuming of course he was even there.
"Aww, is somebody getting a little flustered?" Letty smiled at her, quickly getting underneath her skin. "Worried that Gigantor is gonna hear that you have the hots for him?" She asked and smirked when Mia glared at her, God she made it too easy.
"Looks like Jericho isn't in after all. " Dom announced drawing their attention as he looked down at his watch to check the time. "Guess we could wait around for a bit," He offered as he turned around to look at his girlfriend and sister. "And if he's not back in another twenty minutes I'll just leave the Mazda here for him."
"I mean, we could check the garden." Mia suggested ardently, mentally crossing her fingers that Jericho was there.
"Why not." Dom shrugged seeing as how they come all this way. Heading back towards the cars and walking around the side of the house, the three of them made their way through the garden to see just how large it was; it made their own look like a sandpit in comparison. Looking to the side, they saw a large terrace that connected to the house that had two sets of tables and chairs, as well as an Aspen tree and a small white wall that encircled the terrace.
Heading deeper into the garden and marvelling at the sheer size of it, they saw that it was also filled with copious amounts of trees and walked down the slight incline that led down the large lake that sat at the back of the property. Following the slabs that had been laid out and acted as a makeshift path that went between a circler hedge that was in the middle of the garden and a large white summerhouse.
"He's got a pool, too?" Letty exclaimed in surprise as she caught sight of the round swimming pool that was in front of the hedge that looked as large as it did deep. "This place has everything."
However, before either Dom or Mia could answer her, they both saw a rather large shadow sticking out from the side of the summerhouse and walked over to it, although the latter sorted her hair out again much to Letty's amusement. Walking around the corner, they saw a large metal ladder up against the building and standing at the top was none of than the man they had come to see holding a tin of pain and painting the back of the summerhouse.
"Dom." Jericho greeted not even bothering to look down at them as he rolled the brush over the wooden panels and painted the summerhouse, almost meticulously as he made sure to get a nice even coat.
"How'd you know it was us?" Dom asked as the three of them watched him paint the summerhouse, which he personally thought looked like the most boring job in the world, a sentiment that Jericho must have shared seeing how slow he was going.
"With her mouth?"
"Oi, watch it buddy! One kick is all it would take to knock you off that ladder." Letty threatened, unfortunately it didn't have the desired effect as Jericho continued painting with a care or worry in the world.
"One fall is all it would take to cover you in paint." Jericho countered making Dom and Mia smile, as for Letty she settled for glaring at him.
"Hey, Jericho." Mia greeted with a smile as she looked up at him.
"Mia."
"You know, I thought you'd be a little more surprised to see considering that you never gave us your address." Dom remarked, unaware of the face that Mia made behind his back.
"You saw it on my file." Jericho said nonchalantly as he moved down a step and began painting the next panel.
"H-how did you..." Dom began to ask before it quickly dawned on him and slowly turned to look at Mia who had a sheepish grin.
"I...might have let slip that you had Jesse bring up his profile." Mia revealed as she shrank making a face.
"Thanks for sharing." Dom drawled, his tone as dry as sand.
"In my own defence, he did trick me." She countered weakly, suddenly feeling the need to justify herself...not that she had too. He was her brother, not her father.
"It was nothing personal," Dom promised, unsure if he was pissed or not about them digging into his past considering how painful it was. "I just like to have a rough idea who I'm racing is all."
"It's fine." Jericho told him as he dipped his paintbrush into the tin.
"Well, that's a relief..."
"I did the same."
"Come again?" Letty said numbly not sure she had heard him correctly.
"When you say you did the same you mean..." Dom trailed off waiting for him to elaborate.
"I looked up your profiles," Jericho cleared up for them as he continued painting the summerhouse. "Know your enemy, and all that." He added getting wary looks from the three of them.
"Sounds a little ominous," Mia offered awkwardly.
"And what did you find, Gigantor?"
"Enough."
"Like what?"
"Plenty, Leticia." Jericho finally stopped what he was doing and turned his head to look down at them, his intense blue eyes staring down at them.
"Oh, boy."
"Letty." The Latina ignored Mia as she settled on glaring at the scar-faced bastard. "My name is Letty, got it pal?"
"It says Leticia Ortiz on your birth certificate. " Jericho stated as he looked down at her making her grumble.
"But my friends call me Letty."
"Then Leticia it is." Jericho nodded to himself before going back to what he was doing making her click her tongue as Dom and Mia chuckled and smiled respectively. "Is there a reason you're all here?"
"Well it's not for the winning conversations."
"Evidently not, Leticia." Jericho concurred and if looks could kill his head would have exploded as Letty gave him a death stare.
"Kicking you off that ladder is starting to look real tempting right now."
"Did you forget about our wager?" Dom asked before Jericho could retort or Letty could deliver on her threat.
"Little hard too," Jericho answered as he applied on paint to his brush and continued painting the wooden panels. "Had the cops chasing me."
"I have no idea what the hell happened last night," Dom admitted as his thoughts returned to the night before. "Not to say that we don't have trouble with the cops every now and again, but never anything like last night."
"Looked orchestrated."
"Funny enough, Vince said the same thing." Mia told him as Jericho climbed down another step.
"Yeah, but you can take whatever Vince says with a pinch of salt." Letty told her before looking up at the scar-faced bastard. "At least it's a night you won't soon forget, having your cherry popped and all."
"Cherry popped?"
"Last night was the first time, right?" She noted getting a look from Mia.
"I told you..."
"I'm talking about street racing, get your mind out of the gutter." Letty tutted shaking her head in disappointment. "So, how did you find your first race?" She asked turning back to Jericho.
"Wouldn't call it a race."
"Then what would you call it, Gigantor?" Letty asked as Jericho applied some more paint onto his brush.
"Waste of time."
"Oh right, yeah, because clearly such a busy guy." Letty said sarcastically as Jericho continued painting the summerhouse. "I mean between all the brooding you have to get done during the day it must take up a lot of your time."
"That it does, Leticia." Jericho agreed getting another glare from her, both from the fact that he kept calling her Letica and that her taunts were not quite the same when he was playing along with them, smug bastard.
"Anyway, as I was saying before," Dom spoke up interrupting the two. " I'm a man of my word, you won the race fair and square, so my car is yours."
"That's not..."
"We shook on it." Dom immediately cut him off knowing he was about to decline. "The Mazda is yours...though don't think you're keeping her for long." He insisted with a smirk as Mia rolled her eyes. "Like I said, I want that rematch."
"Now?"
"While I wouldn't be against it," Dom admitted, jumping at the chance to get both car and pride back as soon as possible. "Probably best to let the heat die down first." He said getting a slight nod from Jericho as silence filled the air and the three of them looked at each other. "So how come you didn't stay last night?" Dom asked breaking the silence.
"Not my scene."
"Really? Not even after becoming King of the Streets?" Dom joked lightly. "Like I said, you could've had any woman you wanted." He added with a smirk knowing that there were certain benefits that came with being the king...not to say he was planning on cheating on Letty, but there was nothing wrong with doing a little window shopping and being a little friendly.
"Not even then."
"You gay or something?" Letty asked as blunt as always.
"Not that I'm aware."
"Could've fooled me..."
"Wouldn't be hard." Jericho shot back, cutting her off.
"You could've had literally any girl sucking your dick after kicking Dom's ass last night," Letty stated, smirking devilishly at her boyfriend who sent her a sour look. "And instead, you scamper away..."
"I don't scamper."
"Then what do you call last night?" She challenged. "Because from what I heard the second that you brought Mia back you ran with your tail between your legs." She goaded hoping to get some sort of reaction from him. "Worried about making an ass of yourself after a few drinks?"
"That must be it."
"Talking about last night," Dom interrupted. "Mia mentioned something interesting."
"Did she?" Jericho asked looking down at the woman in questioned who became flustered as blue eyes met brown.
"She did." Dom nodded, not missing the sarcasm or how his sister blushed as Jericho looked at her. "Apparently that Challenger of yours was hitting over two hundred and twenty-five miles per hour."
"Your point?"
"I wasn't trying to make a point," Dom said to him." But like I said last night, no way you're running a V8 under the hood. I'm guessing you've done a full engine conversion and upgraded to a what, a V10? No doubt you've also changed the springs and dampers to compensate for the increase in power, along with the brakes and..."
"You know your machines?"
"You saw me race last night, what do you think?"
"Why I asked." Jericho said making Letty smirk and Mia smile, as for Dom he looked torn from being insulted and amused.
"Alright, let's not get carried away. You won; I'll give you that but now that I know what you're capable of it won't be happening again." He declared as Jericho began climbing down off the ladder. " Besides, we both know it had nothing to do with skill, you won because you had the faster car."
"Winnings, winnings." Jericho quoted his words from the night before making him chuckle, it was times like this that he wished he kept his mouth shut rather than giving him more ammunition against him.
"You'll have to forgive, Dom." Mia said finally speaking up as Jericho stepped back onto the grass and on ground level, but even then, he was still massive compared to her as he looked down. "He's not used to losing...actually you're the first person to beat him in years."
"I aim to please." Jericho voiced making her smile as held the paint tin and brush in one hand then slipped his arm through the ladder and placed it on his shoulder before he began walking away.
"Pretty nice digs you've got here, Gigantor." Letty remarked as she, Dom, and Mia followed Jericho as he walked through the garden and headed in the direction of the trees on the other side.
"Digs?"
"She means your home." Mia explained to him. "It really is beautiful here, and so quiet too." She added as they stepped under the trees and into the shade and saw a large shed that was hidden and out of sight.
"It serves it purpose." Jericho answered as he placed the paint tin and brush on the ground and opened the shed doors and went inside, ducking to avoid hitting his head.
"Weird way to refer to your home?" Dom commented as he walked to the front of the shed to see that the wall were lined with various tools and watched as Jericho slipped the ladder off his shoulder, walked passed the ride-on lawnmower and placed it on the brackets on the back wall.
"Not really." Jericho seemed to disagree as he walked back over to them to see Dom holding out the paint tin for him." Thanks." He added as he placed the tin on the worktable and secured the lid before placing it on the floor next to several other tins. With everything he needed done, he walked out of the shed, closed the doors and turned around to see Mia holding the paintbrush out to him.
"Thanks." Jericho said to her as he took the brush from Mia making her cheeks dust a little as his fingers brushed along the palm of her hand as he took it from her.
"No worries," Mia practically blurted out, thankfully Jericho didn't seem to notice as he took off up towards the house; Unfortunately, the same could not be said for Letty who was smirking. "One word out of you," She threatened, although it did very little to stop her smirking, much to her chagrin.
"Is somebody getting a little hot and bothered?" Letty whispered with a grin.
"Be quiet." Mia hissed at the grinning Latina as she stormed passed her and quickly followed Dom and Jericho who were already halfway up the incline.
"So, how the hell did you manage to afford a place like this?" Dom asked as they stepped onto the terrace and glanced over his shoulder to see Mia and Letty were still making their way up the garden.
"I made a few smart investments." Jericho revealed as he walked over to the large French doors, opened them, and headed inside.
Stepping into the kitchen, Dom glanced around the room. Despite the size of the house, it was smaller than he was expecting...but still much larger than his own. In the centre of the room was a table with a white marble top, the same as the marble counters. There were several cupboards and draws that were all painted white, a large metal fridge, dishwasher, oven, kettle, microwave, and toaster.
While it was clear that Jericho was using it...it just seemed empty, bleak even. The lack of any real colour played a large part in that, as well as the fact that aside from the appliances there was nothing in the room.
"Cozy." Letty snarked as she walked into kitchen, followed by Mia as Jericho walked over to sink, turned the hot water on and began washing the paint from the brush. "Never thought of picking something that isn't black or white?"
"Not really."
"Yeah, I can tell."
"I think it looks fine." Mia voiced her opinion as she looked around the kitchen. "Maybe a little splash of colour here and there to give the room a little oomph, nothing too excessive."
"Check out Little Miss Interior Decorator over here." Letty said playfully making Mia roll her eyes. "Think we've finally found her true calling."
"She's going to be a doctor." Dom retorted firmly.
"Yes, dad." Mia rolled her eyes at his incessant perseverance for her to become a doctor.
"So, what the hell do you around here for fun?" Letty asked as she leaned back on the counter and looked over to where Jericho was still standing in front of the sink and cleaning the brush.
"My work keeps me busy."
"Sounds boring." She snorted playfully. "And when you're not working?"
"I'm always working."
"No wonder you're such a stiff," She chuckled. "Don't you ever just kick back and relax?"
"He's never had the time," Mia answered for him as he turned the tap off and banged the brush to remove the excess water from the bristles," Right?" She smiled mischievously as Jericho finally turned around to look at him.
"Hmmm,"
"Well, you don't look busy now," Mia continued.
"Looks can be deceiving." He countered staring her down.
"Oh, really? And what are you doing right now?" Mia challenged folding her arms over her chest, unlike last night refusing to back down.
"Trying to get rid of you all." Jericho told her getting a sly smile back.
"Well, we're having a barbeque this afternoon." Mia pretended not to hear him. "Would you like to come...or are you planning on brooding for the rest of the day?"
"Not really."
"You sure we can't convince you?" Dom grilled hoping to convince him. "They'll be plenty of food and drink to go around...Plus, think of it as our way of apologising for yesterday."
"I appreciate the offer," Jericho paused contemplating his word.
"But?"
"I'm not much of a people person."
"Oh, really? We hadn't noticed not with that sunny disposition of yours." Mia teased. "But in all seriousness, your social skills aren't going to improve unless you start talking to people."
"You're not going leave until I agree...are you?"
"You catch on quick." She chirped back sounding rather proud of herself that she had managed to wear him down as Jericho closed his eyes and sighed in frustration.
"Very well." He finally relented as he opened his eyes. "What time?"
"Just come back with us." Dom told him getting a tense nod back.
"Give me ten minutes." Jericho said as he left the kitchen and headed into the next room. Following him, Dom, Mia, and Letty entered the living room to see him walking across the room and over to the wooden staircase that was encircled by metal railings and disappeared upstairs without so much as a glance.
As Jericho went and did whatever it was he needed to do, which they suspected was have a shower and get changed from his work clothes, the three of them took a look around. To say that it dwarfed their own would vast understatement, the living room was practically the entire bottom floor. There was a large beige L-shaped sofa with a coffee table placed in front of it, and two smaller armchairs off at the side.
Behind the sofa was a small glass table with four white chairs, and a large black piano. The walls were a mixture of white and glass allowing them to see every part of the estate regardless of where he was standing. The highlight of the room was undoubtably the grey wall that had a built-in fireplace; however, it wasn't the wall or the fireplace that drew their attention...
"Look at the size of that fucking thing!" Letty blurted out as she fell back into the sofa and stared up at the massive television that sat above the fireplace. If they had to make a rough estimate, it had to be around 55-60 inches. Nevertheless, while impressive it was the fact that it was completely flat that blew them away. It was like something out of the future. Sure, all the tv companies had been slim lining all their products for years, but this was something else.
"What are the chances that he'll let us bring the PlayStation up and play it on this thing?" Letty's eyes twinkled like a child in a candy store. "Just imagine how playing Grand Turismo on it!"
"Or Kingdom Hearts."
"That's a baby's game."
"It actually has a really compelling story," Mia claimed as she wandered around the room.
"Right, about a kid called Simon who carries a shovel everywhere he goes...real compelling."
"First off his name is Sora," Mia corrected sternly. "And second, he has a Keyblade."
"Let's not push our luck...at least not yet." Dom spoke up interrupting the two. "It was already hard enough convincing Jericho to come back with us."
"You can thank Mia for that, she's really got it down bad for him." Letty smirked looking over her shoulder at Mia who wasn't listening as she walked around. "Looks like somebody is sizing up their future home."
Turning a deaf ear to her teasing, Mia inspected the room and couldn't help but feel some sympathy when she saw that despite the size of the room there was nothing of sentimental value. No pictures of his parents or friends, no mementos of happier times...of course knowing the numerous tragedies he had suffered through his life she couldn't exactly blame him.
Anything related to his past no doubt brought back unpleasant memories, memories he'd rather forget. She couldn't imagine what it was like to be so alone in the world. Losing her parents had been difficult but at least she still had her brothers...at least for a time, but who did Jericho have? While she enjoyed their back and forth, she knew that he had to be hurting and was certain that he masked his feeling with his humour.
Mia was pulled from her thoughts when she heard movement coming from above her. Looking up, she felt her cheeks heat up as Jericho emerged from the room upstairs without his shirt on making her nibble her lip as she blatantly started checking him out and liked what she saw; really liked what she saw. With a body that looked like it had been sculped from marble, ripped chest, powerful shoulders, and abs that you could grate cheese from...
However, a pit formed in her stomach when she saw the number of scars, she saw on him that ranged from stab marks, bullet wounds, teeth marks, burns, stitches, and various others; which while they certainly added to the dangerous vibe he had going for him, it was almost like he had some sort of death wish.
Unfortunately, before she could think too much about it, Jericho slipped on a black t-shirt that looked more like a muscle shirt on him that complimented his jeans rather nicely and went over the dog-tags that were around his neck.
"Ready?" Jericho's emotionless voice cut through the living room as he walked down the stairs rolling his sleeves up to his elbows and ran his fingers through his wet black hair, leaving Mia a little hot and bothered.
"Whenever you are." Dom said nudging Letty as they both got up from the sofa and crossed the living room and walked over to where Jericho and Mia were standing.
"You scrub up well." Mia complimented eying him up.
"I aim to please." Jericho responded the moment that Dom and Letty reached them. With the three of them there, he left the room and headed through the house and into the hallway.
"Where the hell did you get that tv?" Letty asked as Jericho slipped his shoes on.
"I made it."
"You made it?" Letty repeated, clearly sceptical as he grabbed a set of keys that were hanging on the wall.
"Must be an echo." Jericho remarked as he opened another door and headed through it. Following him into the next room which turned out to be a garage, Letty whistled in appreciation upon seeing the Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Chevelle SS, and the Pontiac GTO.
"Not bad." Letty complimented the beauties he had stored away, and if she wasn't with Dom and Mia didn't have a thing for him, she would've jumped his bones right then and there...likely on top of them.
Jericho walked past them and hit the switch opening the garage door revealing the Nissan sitting outside. With the door open, he pressed the button on his key making the Pontiac's lights flash as he walked over to it while Letty left the garage with Dom.
Climbing into the GTO along with Jericho, Mia noticed that it had a basic set up compared to the Challenger. However, the second that Jericho inserted the keys a heads-up display materialized on the windscreen making her eyes widen, followed by the Pontiac roaring to life drowning out everything.
"A little different from the Challenger."
"The Challenger was the prototype." Jericho explained as he drove out the garage and into the daylight to see Letty turning around in the Nissan.
"Aren't you going to close the gate?" Mia asked noticing that he wasn't getting out.
"It's on a timer," Jericho informed her as he waited for Letty pass him before following her down the driveway and out through the gate. Once he was out the gate, he stretched his arm out of the window and hit the switch on the wall. A mechanical noise suddenly rang out as the gate began to slowly close behind them, followed by the Pontiac roaring like a caged lion as he sped after the Nissan that had taken off.
And cut! Well, here is the next chapter to The Furious Wolf. I hoped you all enjoyed it. The barbeque will be next chapter, I was planning on having it in this chapter but thought that I would do a little bit of world building rather than rushing it to the plot of the movie.
Also, next chapter will be told from Six's perspective unlike this chapter where it was from everyone else's hence why they constantly referred to him as Jericho rather than Six.
