Good evening, good day, or morning wherever you are! I recently watched Durarara! And I grew inspired to write FanFiction. Here's a piece of what is to come. It's more of a prologue. Get acquainted with the OC's in my story. Read this piece and let me know what are your thoughts. I'm not sure if I'll change the rating further in the story. Since romance will be included, I'm debating how much sensuality and how much graphic sexual situations I'll include. Nothing is set in stone. I've never written anything sexually graphic either. Anywho.. Thanks again for checking this story out! More to come soon.

Kasumi

I took a deep breath and exhaled as I made my way through the lobby and headed outside to see the black car waiting for me.

I turned and caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror; my hair styled and makeup perfect. The red dress I wore wasn't too short. Several inches above the knee. This lace dress hugged my curves and seeing myself wearing it made me think about him. I remembered when I let it slip that red was my favorite color during a previous conversation a few weeks prior. Passion, sensuality, and desire. These words come to my head when associating colors with emotions and actions. I also confess it makes me feel powerful, as if I have the whole world in my hands.

As I approached the vehicle, the driver stood there and opened the back door. I smiled softly, thanked him and slid into the backseat.

"Kasumi," A second man spoke. My eyes met his as I tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear.

"Hi," I greeted him softly.

I noticed him eyeing my body. A small smile graced his lips. "It makes me happy to see you're wearing your present." I felt my face flush. I normally would have cringed if it were an old man lusting after my body.

"I don't mix business with pleasure." That was what I told myself. When I started my job, one rule I created was to never see the same client twice. Seeing a client multiple times could delude them into thinking they're special. I do whatever they request (as long as it's safe and consensual), they pay me, and I disappear from their life once it's over.

I was used to servicing doctors, attorneys, business executives, and an occasional heir/heiress of a family company. I've had some odd requests. Most were fantasies that husbands and boyfriends wanted to act out behind their partners knowledge. Some were for simple companionship. I do remember a session included an hour of people-watching and discussing philosophy. Not sexual at all, but it was an interesting evening nonetheless. He was probably the most intellectually stimulating being I've ever come across.

I don't... rather, I didn't mix business with pleasure. I withdrew my rule for one man, the one sitting next to me in this car.

I smile and scooted closer. "Thanks again for the dress, Mizuki. You really didn't have to." He wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer to him. I inhaled and closed my eyes. "You smell nice," I whispered, taking in his scent.

He chuckled and leaned in to kiss my temple. "Good. You'd tell me if I smelt like shit, right?"

I laughed and replied, "Of course." I looked at him and leaned up to kiss his cheek. He chuckled again. Mizuki caressed my cheek with one hand and pressed his lips against mine. It felt wonderful being in someone's arms with no strings attached or contractual agreements.

He isn't my client. He's my lover.

Fumiko

"One more paragraph and I'm done for the night," I murmured to myself. My creative brain juices were flowing tonight. I took another sip of my tea as I typed the last paragraph of a chapter from my book. It isn't finished yet, though. I'm only two... almost three chapters in. I got inspired to write a mystery novel after watching a foreign movie where a detective had to solve a murder at a vacation resort. My dream is to publish a novel and be famous for my books.

After thirty minutes of editing, I finished my chapter. I saved my progress and closed the screen. I sat for a minute and glanced at the clock. 10:35pm. "I wonder if anyone is online," I said. Taking another sip, I opened the chatroom page and entered my login info. Indeed, there were several users online!

Mochi: Hi hi everyone! How are you guys doing tonight?

Setton: Good evening. Things have been good on my end!

Tanaka: Hello, thank you for asking. I'm doing okay.

Kanra: Mochi mochi! Hey you! We haven't seen you on the chat for several days! I thought you forgot about us :(

Mochi: Hi, Kanra! I've been busy with work and my book.

Mochi: So what are you guys doing tonight?

Setton: Oh that's right, how's your book coming along? I remember you told us you started writing your first chapter?

Kuru: Good evening, everybody

Mai: Mochi!

Mai: How's our bookworm doing?

Mochi: Hi Mai, Hi Kuru. I just finished chapter 3! I've set up all of my characters, the setting, and the murder. The detective and his apprentice are on vacation and they discovered shortly after getting settled in that there's a mafia guy who's on the run with his fiancé.

Kanra: Oooohhh, how scary!

Setton: That's very cool, Mochi.

Kuru: We cant wait to read it when it's finished.

Mai: Totally! It's going to be super super awesome! I can feel it.

Setton: Agreed!

I sat back in my chair and closed my eyes for a moment. I enjoyed nights like this, being at home and chatting with my friends online. Sure, I have friends in real life, but I feel like I can share so much more with these people.

I only joined the Dollars two months after me and my sister moved to Ikebukuro. There were some people at my work who were talking about it, so I eavesdropped. I later asked another coworker about it and she was cool enough to send me an email invite to join in. Honestly, I was surprised it was that simple. No creepy, insane, secretive initiation? Sign me up, please!

A buzzing brought me back to reality. It was my phone. I reached for it and looked to see who it was.

Hey, what you up to? It was Shizuo. I couldn't help but smile a little. He's a pretty chill dude, and honestly I kind of like him.

Hey, you. Not much. Hanging out at home. I typed back.

What are you doing?

On my way home from Russian Sushi.

Ugh, sushi sounds so good right now haha, I replied.

I'll take you out tomorrow after I get off work. My heart stopped for a moment. "I'll take you out." I read aloud. So cute!

Sounds good! I can't wait!

Good :) I giggled, I couldn't help it.

My phone buzzed again. I checked to see if it was Shizuo. What else did he have to say?

It wasnt Shizuo. I grimaced.

It was him. I rolled my eyes and answered, "What do you want?"

"Now, now. That's not a very nice way to greet somebody, Fumi-chan." I slumped further against my chair and groaned.

"Again...what do you want, Orihara?"

Hi everyone! So that was the prologue for my upcoming story. It's very new and I'm open to constructive criticism and feedback! I'm looking forward to creating more for this story. Thanks again for reading.
