Prologue
As her amber eyes closed against the lime green flash heading towards her, wings brought up to block it, she felt the rain disappear. Gone was the cold against her snowy feathers. What replaced it was a warm summer breeze. Confused and afraid, Hedwig opened her eyes again and was met with something impossible. Her little human was grown up, but something wasn't right. His eyes weren't emeralds. They were hazel. This human wasn't hers but his father instead. The woman with fire in her hair held her arm for her.
"I will take you to the person who can send you back to Harry. Please, let me," the fiery one said.
With a screech, the owl landed on the outstretched arm. A being unlike any other, made of swirling stars and raging comets, was their final destination. Hedwig felt the power flowing off but didn't care. This being was sending her back to her little human. The one she protected with her last breath. With a wave of its hand, the being sent the snowy bird back. But with a few changes.
