Note: Okay, new story. This is another Star Fox story, but this one will be different. In fact, this will be my second Katt-centric story, so get ready to hear from everyone's favorite pink cat again. Now that I've said that, let's get on with the story!

Chapter 1: He's Acting Up

Katt flew to the Great Fox, eager to speak to Falco. For the past week, she had been on a mission, being sent to look for a stolen painting on MacBeth. Once she retrieved it, the pink cat took the painting back to Zoness, where she claimed her reward from the museum the painting was stolen from. Now that she had gotten everything out of the way, the feline decided to see how Falco had been doing. Shortly before entering the Great Fox, she saw several Arwings leaving, all except for one. Knowing that the ship was Falco's, Katt figured that he was still in the Great Fox.

Odd, he's usually eager to go on missions. She thought to herself.

Parking The Cat's Paw in the docks, Katt hopped out and went to the elevator. Taking it up to the main room, the pink cat hoped to speak to Falco the moment she got in there. When the elevator stopped, the feline saw Falco sitting alone, saying stuff to himself. Concerned, she went up to the pheasant, hoping that he was doing okay.

"Hey, hon, how are you?" Katt spoke.

"Fara?" Falco spoke.

"No, it's me, Katt!" The pink cat stated, sounding chipper.

Standing up, Falco turned around and looked at Katt.

"Oh, hey." The pheasant spoke. "What are you doing here?"

"I just came here to see how everyone was doing." Katt stated.

"We've been doing alright." Falco said.

"Are you sure?" The pink cat asked. "You sound a little sad. Are you sure you're feeling alright?"

"Katt," the avian said, "everyone is doing alright. Krystal's even out of college for the summer. Look, can you come by later? We're kind of on a mission right now."

"But I just got here." The feline said.

"We can talk later, I'm just not in the mood right now." He said.

Katt was offended, but could see that Falco really didn't want to talk. The pheasant had a saddened expression on his face, looking like something bad had just happened. In fact, he looked alike he was going to cry. Not wanting to say anything wrong, Katt decided to leave him alone for the time being.

"Okay," she spoke, "I'm going to head down to Corneria for now. I'll come back when you're in a better mood."

Falco simply nodded his head, telling Katt that it was okay. After that, the pink cat went back out to her ship, setting a course for Corneria. While flying down to the planet, the feline sent a message to Miyu, who was hanging out with Fay. She didn't make the message urgent, as she told them to come at any time they wanted. Looking for a coffee shop, Katt decided to head there, wanting to get her mind off of Falco for a bit. After all, she was heading to one of the quietest coffee shops on Corneria.

Waiting for Fay and Miyu to show up, Katt sat alone in a booth, drinking a macchiato and eating some biscotti. The two had received her message, but said that they were going to be a little late. Their response came up fifteen minutes ago, so it hadn't been that long since they responded. However, Katt felt a little bored, despite hearing some old music playing in the coffee shop. The pink cat decided to save some biscotti for her friends. She continued drinking her coffee, letting time pass by.

All of a sudden, the door to the coffee shop came open, followed by a few footsteps. From behind her, Katt could hear two familiar voices.

"Which booth is she in?"

"She's probably closer to the back. Katt always sits closer to the back whenever she comes here."

Katt watched as Fay and Miyu went up to the cashier, ordering drinks. Knowing that her friends would come by at any moment, the pink cat waited for them to get their orders and come over to the booth she was in. Sure enough, the two came over to her, holding the drinks they had ordered. Upon seeing them, Katt smiled at Fay and Miyu. They smiled back at her, happy to see their friend.

"Hey guys." Katt greeted.

"Hi Katt." Miyu said.

"Hey Katt." Fay greeted.

"Go ahead and sit down, guys." The pink cat said.

Fay and Miyu did so, sitting on the other side of the booth. As they sat, they spoke with Katt.

"So, why did you tell us to come here?" Miyu asked.

"I just wanted to talk about something." Katt stated. "And that something would be a boy."

"A boy?" Fay spoke. "Ooh, is it someone who caught your eye? Someone caught my eye yesterday, and he was handsome as Hell! Of course, I had to tell him that I was in a relationship with Bill when he spoke to me."

"No one caught my eye, Fay." The pink cat said.

"Then who do you want to talk about?" The spaniel asked.

"Falco." The feline said.

Upon hearing Katt say that, Fay and Miyu tilted their heads in curiosity.

"Why do you want to talk about Falco?" Fay asked. "Is there something wrong?"

"I'm just wondering why he was looking so sad when I went to see him." Katt stated. "The moment I got to the Great Fox, not only was he the only one there, but I noticed that he didn't seem in a good mood. In fact, he sounded depressed. Do you guys know why he would be like that?"

"Yeah, there was a shooting at Corneria College." Miyu stated.

"Oh my, did anyone die?" The pink cat asked.

"There was only one death during the shooting." Fay stated. "But, don't worry, the perpetrator got caught!"

"Who was the shooter?" The feline asked.

"Remember Annie Pleurodelnae?" The spaniel asked.

For a moment, Katt couldn't think of anyone with that name. Then, it hit her like someone punching a punching bag.

"Isn't she a member of one of the richest families on Corneria?" Katt asked.

"Yeah," Miyu said, "but she's also an unpleasant and racist nut job. Apparently, she gave into her racism and decided to go on a killing spree, even when she had already been through an intervention."

"Gee, I feel sorry for anyone who had to be in her company!" The pink cat said. "And to think, Krystal was attending college when that happened! Krystal might have even been her intended target instead of the person who got killed!"

"At least Pleurodelnae is in jail without chance of parole!" Fay said.

"Yeah." Katt said, taking another drink of her macchiato.

Without warning, there was the sound of glass shattering. It startled Katt, Fay and Miyu, to the point where Katt gagged while drinking. The shatter was followed by someone shouting.

"You've got to be kidding me! What do you mean that I can't get energy drinks here?!"

Curious, Katt, Fay and Miyu peeked out of the booth. Standing near the cashier was a zebra with hazel eyes. The zebra was quite buff, looking like someone you would usually see working out at a gym. He was wearing a raincoat, black and white running shorts, socks and black tennis shoes. While Katt looked intrigued, Fay and Miyu looked intimidated. That wasn't without saying that the zebra looked like he was going to throttle someone.

"Oh dear, that's Michael Hill!" Fay spoke.

"Isn't he a boxer?" Katt asked. "What is he doing in a coffee shop?"

"Trying to get energy drinks, apparently." Miyu said.

"Hopefully, he figures out that this place doesn't sell energy drinks." The pink cat said.

"Yeah, and it might be better to get out of here before we get caught up in a violent situation." The lynx stated.

Katt, Fay and Miyu finished up their coffee and biscotti, leaving tips down for the waitress. Getting up, the three walked to the door, eager to leave. However, before they could get out of the coffee shop, the infamous Michael Hill intercepted them. While Katt and Miyu stood their ground, Fay quivered under the zebra's gaze.

"What?!" He spoke. "What do you three want?!"

"We were just going to ask you to move." Miyu said.

"Really?" Hill asked.

"Yes, there's no need to be so aggressive." Katt said.

"You'd be aggressive if you stepped into the ring every so often!" The zebra stated. "In fact, I bet that the three of you wouldn't enter the ring, given how lots of people have died in there!"

"I'm sure that we could do our best." The pink cat said. "And, if you ask me, if you don't find a way to calm yourself, you might die of a stress-induced heart attack inside or outside of the ring."

After saying that, Katt walked out of the coffee shop. Fay and Miyu followed her out, with Fay closing the door behind them. The spaniel was practically jittering from the caffeine in her system. Miyu and Katt handled it better, their bodies having more tolerance for caffeine. By the time the three came near the Cat's Paw, they were ready to head home.

"So, are you going to be okay?" Miyu asked.

"I'll be fine, guys." Katt stated. "When I see Falco again, I'll simply talk to him about the shooting. Hopefully, he's okay with it."

"Yeah, Falco can be pretty grumpy when he's depressed." The lynx said. "Fay and I saw him like that once before we left the team the first time around."

Fay was giggling uncontrollably, bouncing up and down. Letting out a sigh, Miyu went over to her friend, putting her hand on her shoulder.

"Calm down, Fay!" She said. "Geez, this is why we don't normally get coffee when we're with the team!"

"The team is boring!" Fay giggled. "Coffee makes the world go around and it speeds up time!"

"I should probably get Fay back to her place so that she isn't bouncing off the walls on the streets of Corneria City." Miyu said. "I'll see you later, Katt!"

"See you around!" Katt responded.

As soon as Miyu walked off with a hyper Fay, Katt jumped into the Cat's Paw, deciding to head back to her place for the night. However, when she tried to start the ship, it made a few noises before shutting off. Annoyed, Katt tried to start it again, but to no avail. The pink cat got out of her ship and lifted the hood, looking to see what was going on with it. Much to her dismay, the battery was out of power, despite the fact that she hadn't been flying around.

Some creep probably drained the power from it while I was on MacBeth! Katt thought to herself. Great, can this day get any worse?!

All of a sudden, Katt felt something hit her nose. Despite not seeing it, whatever hit her was wet. This was followed by a loud explosion in the air. It began to rain, getting the ground wet in seconds. Closing up the hood of Cat's Paw, Katt sat down, letting out a sad sigh. She looked at the ground, frowning.

"Today is just not my day." She said to herself.

As it rained, Katt felt her fur get wet. She paid it no mind, as she was more concerned with that would happen next instead of the weather. The pink cat didn't even notice a car approaching her ship. However, the light from it nearly blinded the feline. It was so bright, she growled and put her arms in front of her face.

"You came because you're wondering why I'm here, right?!" Katt spoke. "Well, if you're going to rob me or worse, go ahead and do it, hon! Go ahead, I've had enough of a shit day, I might as well die!

"Katt?"

Note: Poor Katt, she was not having a good day. But, who was the person calling her name? Are they friend or foe? Are they familiar, or someone new? Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
