Note: I have barely anything to say here. Before we begin the chapter, I want to say something to a reviewer.

Big Bossk Man 92: Thanks. I admit, I could've made it longer, but there wasn't much for me to write. I hadn't used Maria in a story for a while, so I decided to bring her back. I hope that you enjoy this chapter as well.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, it's time for chapter four.

Chapter 4: Getting Signed

Upon following Maria out of the Cornerian Military Base, Katt found herself following the Lucky Rabbit up the sidewalk. The pink cat hoped that the rabbit would speak with her once they got done sparring, but now she was following her to an unknown location. The question the feline had on her mind was where the area could be. Was it on the same side of the street as them, or was it on the other side of the street? If it was the former, then they were probably close to the place. If it was the latter, however, then they would have to cross the street.

After a few minutes of walking, which was essentially a warm up, Katt saw Maria stop in front of a building. Coming up to the Lucky Rabbit, she saw the building in question. It was roughly fifty-feet-high, to the point where there were two floors. The building had large windows, which allowed passersby to see what was going on in it. The outside walls were made of bricks, while the inside walls looked like they were drywall. From inside, Katt could see several people working out and hitting punching bags.

"Is this a martial arts studio?" Katt asked.

"It's a women's boxing gym." Maria said.

"Why did you have me come here?" The pink cat asked.

"I noticed how you were using boxing moves during our spar, so I figured that you would want to train here." The rabbit stated.

Maria then went up to the door and opened it, allowing Katt to go in. From inside, the pink cat could tell that the people inside were training. She decided not to approach them, seeing as they were busy. Even if they weren't busy, the feline had a notion that they would get aggressive. She pressed on, deciding to see if there were any workout machines that were empty. If not, then she would check for a punching bag that had no one at it.

As she walked through the gym, Katt tried to look for a coach or fitness instructor. Every gym came with one or the other, so the pink cat wanted to speak with however was in charge. By doing so, she would ask to join the gym. However, something told the feline that she wasn't in a friendly area. She just felt like a stranger in the gym, to the point where it felt like she would have the police called on her for being just a little curious. Katt wanted to avoid that, if not anything else that was bad.

Upon walking through the training room, Katt found herself in the area where the fights took place. The ring was in the middle of the room, with seats all around it. There were two hallways that led to different areas in the gym. The first one led to concessions, while the other one led to bathrooms and the ticket stand. Standing in the middle of the ring was a tabby cat with brown eyes. He was wearing a red gym shirt, a denim jacket, red gym shorts, socks and tennis shoes.

Coming up to the ring, Katt decided to speak to the tabby standing in the middle of it.

"Excuse me, are you the one in charge of this gym?" She spoke.

"Yeah, what do you want?" The tabby asked.

"I would like to sign up for a membership at this gym." Katt stated.

The tabby looked confused for a moment. However, without warning, he broke out into laughter, as if someone had just told a really funny joke. This annoyed Katt, as she could tell that he was far from welcoming. The pink cat wanted to step into the ring, mainly to punch his lights out. In fact, she climbed into it, dusting herself off once she was in. The moment the tabby got done laughing, he saw her standing in a defensive stance.

"You're one funny girl, you know that?" He spoke. "Don't you know that you can't join this gym? You're a woman!"

"This is a women's boxing gym, you know that?" Katt responded.

"So?" The tabby snorted. "There's more than enough women in this gym! You'd just be an unnecessary addition!"

"And why couldn't I just sign up for boxing, Mr. -?" The pink cat spoke.

"Simms, Martin Simms." The feline answered.

"Why can't I sign up for boxing, Mr. Simms?" She asked.

"Because no one wants to see a pretty girl like you get pummeled in the ring!" He said. "But, if you made something for the class, then we'd be happy!"

"Correction, you'd be happy because I'd stuck to a traditional gender role."

"Look, are you gonna show me what you've got, or are you just gonna stand there and talk?"

Katt cracked her knuckles, giving her answer. Mr. Simms threw a punch at her, but she dodged. The pink cat delivered a left jab, but the tabby caught it. The two felines threw punches at each other, with each dodging or blocking the hits. After two minutes of doing this, they stopped.

"Well, what do you think?" Katt asked.

"I think that you aren't hitting hard enough." Mr. Simms stated.

"Oh, I can hit harder." The pink cat said.

"I doubt that, because no woman in the gym has hit me hard enough to knock me down." The tabby said.

All of a sudden, the door to the arena opened up. To Katt's surprise, Fay was at the gym. The spaniel was dressed in gym clothes, which seemed to imply that she was a member of the gym. Katt's surprised expression met hers, neither of them having expected to see each other.

"Katt, what are you doing here?" Fay asked.

"I'm trying to join the gym." Katt said.

"Why?" The spaniel asked.

"I'm just trying to take my mind off of Falco." The pink cat stated. "I was even sparring with Maria Fairweather before she brought me here."

"You were sparring with the Lucky Rabbit?!" The canine said. "Boy, you're lucky to be in one piece, Katt."

"Oh, don't worry, I think I impressed her." The feline said.

Mr. Simms cleared his throat, loud enough to stop the conversation. Katt turned back to him, annoyed that he did something so rude.

"Are you two done with your little reunion, or are you willing to waste my time more?" Mr. Simms asked.

"Oh, no, we can go back to training!" Katt spoke.

"I'll leave you guys alone, seeing as you're busy." Fay stated. "See you later, Katt!"

"I'll see you when I'm able to, Fay!" The pink cat said.

Fay walked out of the arena, going back to the training room. Once she was gone, Mr. Simms let out a slight chuckle.

"What a bitch!" He spoke. "I'd be half-surprised if that dope is still here by the time we're done!"

"Hey, don't insult my friend!" Katt hissed.

"Well, I'm sorry, but I feel like your friend isn't smart!" Mr. Simms scoffed. "I don't even think she can do anything, including being a homemaker!"

"Hate to break it to you, but it's not the 1950s!" The pink cat stated. "Not every woman is a homemaker, so deal with it! Get your mind out of decades past, why don't you?!"

"Even if not every woman is a homemaker, then I guess that the spaniel is just screwed up!" The tabby stated. "I can only imagine what a disaster your life must -!"

Without warning, Mr. Simms was knocked back with a right jab. It was followed by an uppercut. Both hits were delivered by Katt, who was agitated at what he said. It was bad enough that Falco wasn't opening up about what was bothering him, but now she was in the company of some backwards moron?

"You should watch your mouth, Mr. Simms, because you might get popped in it!" Katt spoke.

Before Mr. Simms could respond, he was met with a left hook. Katt followed it up with a right jab, hitting the tabby square in the face. As she did so, the pink cat spoke to him.

"Just because someone doesn't know everything, doesn't make them stupid!" She said. "You have the gall to say that crap about Fay, because she's smarter than a traditionally-minded person like you!"

She continued to throw punches at Mr. Simms, preventing him from talking back to her. This didn't last long, as he caught her next right jab.

"What do you care anyways?" He spoke. "You're friends are probably the kind of people who talk trash about you about your back!"

"People do that, you moron!" Katt spat. "That doesn't give you the right to say horrible things about other people! Let me tell you this, I'm kicking your ass not because you're insulting women, not because you're being a pain, but because you insulted my friend! No one insults my friends in FRONT OF ME!"

Mr. Simms was unable to counter or dodge the next few punches Katt threw at him. As far as he could tell, the pink cat threw two right jabs and an uppercut. These were followed by a left hook, which was enough to knock the tabby off his balance. Katt then delivered a corkscrew punch to his face, which caused him to get knocked unconscious. Before she could cool off, she heard a door open, as well as a familiar voice.

"Katt!"

Turning around, Katt saw Maria standing in the entrance. The Lucky Rabbit had a towel on her shoulder, indicating that she had been using her. Standing next to her was Steve Armstrong, the Cornerian soldier who was responsible for her joining the army. He wasn't particularly happy to see Katt, especially since an unconscious Mr. Simms was near her. The wolf slowly shook his head, expressing disappointment.

"This is why I barely come here anymore." Steve said.

"Oh, hey guys!" Katt greeted them, blushing in embarrassment. "I was just practicing with Mr. Simms here!"

"Well, you didn't have to beat the shit out of him!" Maria stated.

"He was insulting my friends!" The pink cat defended her actions.

Steve entered the ring, going to check on Mr. Simms. Picking up the tabby's arm, he checked for a pulse. Seeing that he was alright, the wolf let out a sigh of relief. He then spoke to Katt, clearly not happy with what she had done.

"Thanks for pounding on my old coach, Katt!" Steve said. "I wasn't coming by to speak with him anyway!"

"Hey, don't get mad at me, I was defending my friend's honor!" Katt hissed.

"So that gives you the right to brutalize someone?" The wolf asked.

"Steve, calm down."

Looking down, Steve saw Mr. Simms awake. The tabby had some blood coming out of his mouth, but he seemed fine.

"Mr. Simms, are you alright?" Steve asked.

"I've never been better." Mr. Simms said.

"What do you mean by that?" The wolf asked.

"I said some things that I shouldn't have said, and that girl called me on it." The tabby said.

"Katt more than called you out, she beat the living crap out of you!" The canine said.

"Yeah, she's a crazy bitch." The feline said. "She came down on me like thunder on a poor sod who was just trying to get home. She's a heavy hitter, heavy enough to knock someone unconscious!"

Katt blushed in embarrassment, half-anticipating a string of insults from the person she could've easily killed with her fists.

"But, you know what, any woman who can do that is welcome at the gym anytime!" Mr. Simms spoke.

"Really?" Katt said, surprised.

Mr. Simms got up and approached Katt. He wrapped her in a hug, which caught her off-guard. The pink cat hugged the tabby back, secretly hoping that he would release her.

"Welcome to the gym, Katt!" Mr. Simms said. "If you need anything else, let me know!"

"Actually, I'm wondering if there are any fights coming up." Katt said.

"The first fight is coming up in June." The tabby said. "Are you wanting to become a boxer?"

"Yes, but because I think it might be fun." The pink cat said.

"In that case, I'll get you signed up for the fight." He said, letting her go. "I suggest getting ready for it, because your first match might be tough."

Mr. Simms then walked out of the ring, going to a different part of the gym. Once he was gone, Maria and Steve approached Katt.

"I thought that you were trying to get your mind off of that jackass you were dating." Maria spoke.

"Well, I was, but now I'm interested in becoming a boxer!" Katt stated.

"You should count your blessings that you're being given until June to train." Steve spoke. "If the fight happened this week, you wouldn't have stood a chance."

"I'm definitely lucky." The pink cat said. "Don't worry, I'll train!"

"You better hope you do." The wolf said.

"Yeah, you'll be screwed if you aren't prepared for the fight." Maria stated.

"Oh, I'll be prepared, you'll see!" The feline said.

After that little talk, Katt decided to jog until she ran out of breath. The pink cat had felt like doing so before, but now she really wanted to do it. Before she could do so, however, the feline felt tempted to tell everyone about what she had done. Getting out her communicator, she messaged everyone she knew. However, she didn't message Krystal, seeing how her apartment was close. With that in mind, Katt ran into the apartment building with breakneck speed.

Upon coming up to the front door of Krystal's apartment, Katt vigorously knocked on it. She couldn't help it, she was just so excited. After a minute, the pink cat was greeted by Krystal.

"Hon," Katt spoke, "you won't believe what just happened! I -!"

"You joined a boxing gym." Krystal said.

"Never play guessing games with a telepath!" Katt pouted.

Krystal sighed and shook her head, knowing that it was rude to read someone's mind without letting them share what they have. The cobalt vixen let Katt in her apartment, deciding to speak with her.

"Like I tried to say, I joined a women's boxing gym." Katt spoke. "I even got signed for the first fight in June! Are you happy?"

"Katt, you shouldn't be so reckless when it comes to stuff like that!" Krystal spoke. "Boxing isn't a game, it's a serious sport that you could die in if you aren't careful enough. Let's not forget that you need to be well-prepared for the next fight, otherwise you'll get creamed!"

"Don't worry, hon, I'll train for it!" The pink cat said.

"It's not just the lack-of-training that causes boxers to get beaten down in a fight," the cobalt vixen stated, "there's also the fact that you won't always know what your opponent will do. Sometimes, they'll even use underhanded tactics to win!"

"Oh my." The feline said.

"Yeah." The vulpine said. "Let's not forget the hazards that will come your way if you're not careful, which includes brain damage. Even if you manage to avoid all of those hazards, you'll still be in danger of -! Eep!"

Without warning, Krystal felt something prick her arm. Looking down, she saw Katt sticking a syringe in her. The pink cat was quick enough to not be detected by the cobalt vixen's telepathy. The syringe slowly filled with blood, stopping when it was completely full. This didn't stop Krystal from getting angry at Katt.

"Katt!" Krystal shouted.

"Hon, calm down, I'm taking it out." Katt calmly said, carefully pulling the syringe out of Krystal's arm.

Now that the syringe was out of Krystal's arm, Katt was ready to inject it into hers.

"Katt, don't do it!" Krystal warned. "You don't know what injecting yourself with my blood will do!"

"You're a telepath, Krystal, maybe I'll get some of that psychic energy out of it." Katt said.

"But my blood might not be compatible with yours!" The cobalt vixen said. "The last time I gave blood, someone with a different blood type than mine was given the sample, and he kept getting headaches! If that happened to him, imagine what having my blood in your system can do to you!"

"Maybe it will work, hon." The pink cat said. "Look, I'm not trying to come across as some kind of vampire, I just want an extra push to becoming a boxer. If I get sick, then it's my fault."

Katt slowly stuck the needle into her body, pumping Krystal's blood into her body. As it traveled through her body, Katt could feel a small tingle in her brain. The pink cat could feel surges that she never felt before. Her mind was branching out, causing her to pick up thoughts from those around her. This meant one thing: she had received telepathy. She smiled at Krystal, signaling that it had worked.

"Well, I've gotten some of your gifts now." Katt stated.

"I hope you're happy with stealing my blood and giving yourself telepathy to help yourself cheat." Krystal said, showing disappointment in her voice.

"Don't worry, no one will find out about this." The pink cat said.

"Unless they find that needle with you." The cobalt vixen said.

"Krystal, I'm not stupid." The feline said. "I know that it isn't right for me to steal some of your blood and put it into my body, but I just want to prove myself. And, before you say I could've trained instead of doing what I did, I have to say that I've always felt kinda jealous about your telepathy."

"Well, you didn't have to steal my blood." The vulpine said.

"Once again, I'm willing to admit that I was in the wrong for that. I gotta go, I'm probably wasting your time. See you around, hon!"

Katt ran out of Krystal's apartment, closing the door behind her. Krystal didn't say anything. While she wanted to be happy for Katt, the cobalt vixen was mad at her for practically robbing her. She knew that the pink cat could be reckless at times, but what she had done to her was pure stupidity. The vulpine couldn't just sit by as her friend cheated in boxing matches with help from blood that wasn't hers. With that in mind, Krystal got out her communicator and decided to call Fox.

"Fox," she spoke into it, "come by my apartment when you have the time. It's about Katt."

Note: Yeah, Katt did something pretty gross. Needless to say, no one is going to be happy with her when they find out about it. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
