Note: Now that it's June, summer will finally begin. Or am I thinking of a different month? Anyway, back to this. Before we begin, I want to say something to three reviewers.

The White Wolf Named Alex: Katt really beat the shit out of him, am I right? Better yet, she earned his respect, enough to finally join the gym. Let's just hope that she can handle the first match. Stay tuned!

Big Bossk Man 92: Sounds like a dangerous idea, doesn't it? Like Katt said, as long as no one finds out what happened, she'll be fine. All she has to do is just have it long enough for her matches.

Ron: Yeah, but Katt thinks that by taking a sample of Krystal's blood and injecting it into herself, she'll become better at boxing. I hope that you like this chapter.

Now that I've done that, it's time for chapter five.

Chapter 5: First Match

Throughout the rest of May, Katt had trained at the boxing gym, went jogging, and practiced certain moves. While she did so, the pink cat occasionally talked with her friends and loved ones. She even gave her parents a call every weekend, catching up with them. The feline made trips to a local fitness store, gathering protein powder and energy bars to consume during her training. Not wanting to spend too much money, she bought the least expensive items at the store, hoping that everything she bought would be enough. Needless to say, Katt didn't feel satisfied with what she put in her body.

During May, Star Fox celebrated Krystal's birthday, holding it at her apartment. As the party went on, Krystal and Fox spoke with each other, talking about what Katt had done. Krystal felt tempted to tell everyone about it, but Fox told her to put it aside for the moment. The cobalt vixen reluctantly agreed to do so, despite the fact that it would be sitting around as Katt cheated. Once her birthday had ended, the vulpine waited until the tournament began at the boxing gym, where Katt would be fighting. As much as Krystal wanted to wish her friend well, she honestly hoped that the pink cat would fail.

Now that it was June, Katt was getting ready for her first match at the gym. As it was in the evening, the pink cat knew she had hours before it began. She was running up the sidewalk, deciding to test her stamina for the fight. The feline stopped for a brief moment, deciding to stretch, doing it carefully enough to not pull a muscle or get another form of injury. After that, she went home, she ran back home, choosing to have some dinner before the fight. Wanting to eat something that wasn't the usual protein bar, Katt had a piece of salmon and some grilled vegetables.

When it was an hour before the fight, Katt called Fara, asking her for a ride to the gym. The fennec obliged, coming to Katt's house in her car. Once she got in, the pink cat waited until they got to the gym. Upon reaching the gym, the feline jumped out of the car, running inside. She ran to the locker room, wanting to get changed into her outfit before the fight, which just so happened to be black gym clothes and tennis shoes. By doing that, Katt was ready to step into the ring.

Katt walked into the stadium, where she was greeted by Steve. The wolf told Mr. Simms that Katt was ready, so she was let into the ring. Now that she was in, the pink cat could see her opponent. The fighter in front of her was a fennec fox, just like Fara. Unlike Fara, however, Katt's opponent was much younger, looking like she was a college freshman. She had blue eyes, and she was wearing a maroon gym shirt, red gym shorts and sneakers.

All of a sudden, the speakers overhead crackled with sound. It was shortly followed by someone's voice coming out of them.

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls," the voice, an announcer, spoke, "welcome to the 65th annual Corneria City Women's Boxing Tournament! For our first fight of the season, we've got a newcomer going up against a member of the gym who had fought for a previous season. In the left corner, weighing at 215 pounds, let's welcome the previous year's bronze champion, Teagan Blunstone!"

Upon hearing her name, Teagan Blunstone stood up and walked towards the referee. Certain audience members applauded her, clapping their hands and cheering. Katt watched as this happened, waiting for the announcer to call on her next.

"And in the right corner," the announcer continued, "weighing at 187 pounds, we welcome the newcomer, Katt Monroe!"

Standing up, Katt could hear her friends and family cheering her on. Looking back, the pink cat smiled at them. However, she could see that Falco was reading a book, not paying attention to what was happening. In addition to that, Krystal was practically glaring daggers at the feline. She shrugged it off, walking towards her opponent. Now that they were face-to-face, Katt spoke to Teagan.

"Well, looks like I'll have to fight you." Katt spoke. "So, get ready, hon!"

"As if," Teagan spoke, "I'll beat you out of the gym!"

In order to begin the fight, Katt and Teagan bumped their gloves together. After that, the referee blew his whistle. From there, the fight began. Katt and Teagan took their positions, holding their hands up. The two were ready to pound each other into the dust, but they both thought about certain strategies in their heads. The cat and the fennec hesitated to make a move, but they got over it.

Teagan threw a left hook, hitting Katt in the face. Before she could throw another punch, Katt gave her a right jab. The pink cat was half-surprised that she was quick enough to stop the fennec's attack. She figured that, due to the blood sample she got from Krystal, her instinct improved enough for her to know what was going to happen next. Not wanting to look suspicious, the feline delivered an uppercut to Teagan's abdomen. She then followed it with a few jabs and a right hook.

However, despite being able to deal some damage to Teagan, Katt found herself victim of a cross when she attempted a left hook. Before she could react, the pink cat was knocked down when Teagan delivered a right hook. Now that she was down, the feline could hear the referee approaching. This meant that he was about to do a countdown. He began it immediately once he was near her.

"Ten!" The referee spoke. "Nine! Eight!"

Not wanting to give up, Katt picked herself up. Seeing this, the referee stopped his countdown, allowing the pink cat to face Teagan. Before they could start pummeling each other again, a bell rang. This meant that the round was over. Upon hearing this, Katt and Teagan went back to their corners, where people were waiting for them. They waited for the next round to begin.

"Our first round, ladies and gentlemen, was an impressive show from the fighters in the ring!" The announcer said. "Not only did Teagan Blunstone remind us of her performance in the previous season, but Katt Monroe put up a good fight for a relative newcomer to the ring!"

Katt anticipated for the next round to begin, hoping that she would be able to beat Teagan in the second round. As she waited, Steve came up to her.

"Well, you're doing better than I thought you would." He spoke. "I honestly thought that you would get knocked down and lose instantly."

"I'll do better in the next round." Katt stated. "Trust me, Blunstone won't know what's coming!"

The bell rang, signaling that the second round had begun. Getting out of their corners, Katt and Teagan went up to each other. Bumping their gloves, they got ready for the fight. To begin, Katt delivered an uppercut to Teagan's face, which knocked her back. However, the fennec didn't go down, returning the favor with a left jab. The pink cat felt like her nose was going to bleed from that hit alone.

Katt, deciding to show what she could do, threw a left hook at Teagan. This hit the fennec in the side, nearly knocking her down. The pink cat then hit her opponent in the face with a few jabs. The telepathy that the feline had gained was helping her see what was going to come her way, so she had a feeling that she would win the second round. She was doing better than how she did in the first round, so it seemed inevitable. Just as long as Katt was on guard, things would go her way.

However, Teagan threw a punch at Katt, being a straight jab. Before it could hit the pink cat, her newly-gained telepathy kicked in and warned her. The feline blocked the jab and threw a punch at Teagan. However, instead of a jab, hook, or uppercut, the punch that was thrown was a cross counter. The hit was strong enough, it nearly knocked Teagan unconscious. The fennec collapsed just in time for the bell to ring, ending the second round with Katt's victory.

Once the second round had ended, Teagan picked herself up and went back to her corner. Katt sat down at her corner, getting a drink of water. The fight wasn't particularly exhausting, but the pink cat just wanted to refresh before the final round. Teagan didn't do so, only looking at her hands.

"So far, the second round has proven to be a game changer!" The announcer spoke. "Not only did Katt Monroe put in a better effort, but she managed to take down Teagan Blunstone in time for the bell. Now, the question is this: Who will win the final round, winning the match by extension? Will it be Blunstone or Monroe?"

Waiting for the next round, Katt spoke to Maria, who was outside of the ring.

"So, Lucky Rabbit, what do you think?" Katt asked.

"I think that you'll need to give it your all during the final round." Maria said. "That's when the fighters stop holding back and fight until one falls."

"And Teagan is going to be the one to fall, hon, you'll see!" The pink cat said.

Once the bell rang, the final battle begun. Teagan was the first to make a move, delivering an uppercut to Katt's abdomen. The pink cat then received a left hook, which hit her in the face. The feline stumbled back, but was quick to regain her balance. It was enough to block a jab that Teagan threw at her, as she pushed the punch out of the way. The fennec tried to throw another punch, only to get a right jab to the face. She stood her ground, shrugging off the attack.

Katt was quick to dodge and block the few punches that came her way, the telepathy telling her to do so. Teagan, on the other hand, was having a hard time keeping up to her opponent. The fennec kept attacking, but nothing registered. Katt was almost too fast for her, as if she had drank an energy drink before entering the ring. The vulpine tried to deliver an uppercut, but the pink cat caught it. The feline responded with a cross counter, which brought her opponent down.

Before the referee could come over and do the countdown, Teagan got back up, signaling that she wasn't giving up. The fennec came towards Katt, getting in a defensive stance. Katt readied herself, knowing that the round wouldn't end until one of the fighters was down. The pink cat wanted to win more than anything, even if it meant getting injured. Teagan could tell what was on the feline's face, returning her expression with a confident look. Katt steadied herself, having a feeling that her opponent was planning something.

Without warning, Katt received a right hook in her gut. This caused her to feel nauseous and dizzy, leaving her unable to fight back. Seeing that her opponent was disoriented, Teagan took her down. After receiving a left jab and an uppercut, the pink cat found herself falling down. She fell on her back, unable to stop herself. Once the feline was down, the referee came over to her and began his countdown.

"Ten!" He spoke. "Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five!"

Before he could continue, the referee saw Katt stand up. Upon seeing that, he stopped, allowing the pink cat to walk back up to Teagan. The fennec only smirked at her opponent, having a feeling that she would win.

"Coming back for more, eh?" Teagan spoke. "Well, get ready, because you're going down, Katt Monroe!"

"Not tonight." Katt said, having an ominous tone in her voice.

Teagan threw a right jab at Katt, but it was blocked. After that, the fennec found herself being knocked back by an uppercut. Katt followed this up with a few jabs. The pink cat delivered a left hook, fast enough for her opponent to be caught off guard. Before Teagan could react, she received a right hook, which hit her in the gut. This caused her to become disoriented, to the point where she couldn't see straight. Seeing this, Katt took her down with a left jab.

Once Teagan was down, the referee went over to her and began his countdown. The fennec didn't get up, even as he reached zero. When the match's victor was made unanimous, he blew his whistle, going over to Katt. The pink cat felt her hand being raised in the air. She watched as the crowd cheered for her, celebrating her victory.

"After a long battle, it would appear that Katt Monroe is the winner of tonight's match!" The announcer said. "In a surprising victory, the newcomer was able to take down last year's bronze winner, giving it her all! It was amazing, ladies and gentlemen, and we hope to see more of it during next week's fight!"

When the announcer was done, Katt was escorted out of the ring. Before going down the hallway, she watched as Teagan left the ring, with her team helping her out. The pink cat felt happy, knowing that the fennec was in safe hands. From what the telepathy she gained could tell, her opponent was being taken home in order to heal for the night. The feline decided to not worry so much about the vulpine, choosing to focus on what she was going to do. She promised herself that she would get a shower once she got home.

The next day, Katt was at her house, watching some TV. Earlier on in the day, there was a news broadcast detailing the sporting events of the Lylat System. In addition to that, Katt had received an envelope in the mail. Opening it up, the pink cat pulled a check out of it. The check was her payment from the gym, which was for her victory. The feline put it on her kitchen table, deciding to cash it into the bank later. She even felt like going jogging to help check her stamina.

A knock came on the door, just as Katt was getting ready to change the channel on her TV.

"Who is it?" Katt asked.

"It's me, Fara!" Fara's voice came through the door.

"Come on in!" The pink cat said.

The door came open, with Fara pushing it. The fennec saw Katt standing near her TV, holding the remote.

"Well, hello, hon!" Katt greeted.

"Hey, Katt, how are you doing?" Fara asked.

"Oh, I'm doing just fine!" The pink cat stated. "In fact, I've never felt better!"

"You put on quite a performance last night." The fennec said.

"I know I did." The feline said. "That Teagan Blunstone didn't know what was coming!"

"You really showed her!" The vulpine said. "She couldn't even keep up with you!"

"That was because I had been training throughout the month! In fact, I might go jogging after I cash in the check the gym sent me!"

"Well, looks like you've got a lot of plans for today. I'm going to leave you alone, seeing as you probably want your space."

"Thanks, hon."

Fara then turned around and began to walk out of Katt's house. Before she could even make it to the door, the fennec stopped in her tracks. She felt something odd in the house, as if something was different about it. The vulpine had a bad feeling, almost like someone was stalking her. She turned around, facing Katt again.

"Katt, is your house haunted?" Fara asked.

"No, why?" Katt spoke.

"It's just that I feel something weird." The fennec said. "By the time I was near the door, I could feel some kind of weird energy, like the energy Krystal has when her telepathy is in use."

Crap, is she sensing the telepathy I got from Krystal's blood?! Katt thought to herself.

"But, I guess it's just my nerves." The vulpine said. "Ever since I've gotten pregnant, I've had all of these weird feelings. I even want to eat foods I wouldn't normally eat! Can you believe it?"

"Uh, sure, I believe you." Katt said.

"Okay, I'll see you around!"

Once Fara had left, Katt decided to head to the bank to cash in the check. After that, she went jogging, deciding to get some exercise. The pink cat could tell that her stamina was better than how it was before. It was at the point where the feline ran more than she would usually run. She even ran after lunch, wanting to burn some extra calories before dinner. During the evening, Katt did a workout, wanting to keep her strength up before the fight that would be held later that week.

Note: Oh boy, Fara sensed the telepathy Katt had gained. And who wants to bet that everyone else will sense it? After all, they know Krystal, so it's not unlikely that they would get suspicious of Katt. Let's not forget that Krystal is willing to tell people what happened. What do you think will happen? Until next time, guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
