Day 5

It was now the fifth day of camp for Lucas and Jake. Jake recently revealed to his friends that he was gay and they took the news quite well. In fact, it lifted a huge weight off Jake's chest and now he doesn't have to spend the rest of camp worrying about it.

As for Lucas, he was glad his stomach problems were behind him. If it continued, he would probably be forced to wear diapers, which would make him die of embarrassment.

And now, the two friends slept in their respective cabins, hoping today would be an easy day. A solid, yet unmarkable day.

Then everyone in the cabins heard a loud sound come from outside, which caught the boys off-guard. It sounded like a trumpet and out of curiosity, everyone went outside to see what was going on.

Outside, they saw Camp Counselor Sid standing outside the cabin area. The main thing all the boys noticed was Counselor Sid's attire. He was only wearing white briefs. No shirt, no pants, no shoes, just undies. Although Lucas, Jake, and several others knew about Sid's particular habit, the rest of the boys didn't, so it was a bit of a shock to them.

"Good morning, campers. I have several important things I need to go over with you before we do anything. Instead of doing our usual routine of morning and afternoon activities, I have decided to scrap both of them for the rest of the week. In addition, there will no longer be a Group A or a Group B. All of you can interact with each other freely for the rest of the week. I did this so I can make your last few days here as fun as possible. If anyone needs me, I'll be in my office. Now go have fun." said Sid.

Counselor Sid was about to walk off before adding, "And yes, I'm in my undies. Personally, I'd prefer to just wear these than wear a whole outfit, especially in this hot weather. Now, go to the cafeteria to get breakfast.", and then walking off.

All the boys just stood there confused. The groups and the activities were no more.

"What just happened?" asked Greg.

"The structure of the camp just crumbled." said Miles.

"Which means we can do whatever we want." said Harry.

Most of the boys suddenly cheered, high fived each other, and ran right to the cafeteria. The only ones who didn't were Lucas, Jake, Kyle, Steven, and Bill, who stood there awkwardly.

"So…now what?" asked Steven.

"I guess the five of us can hang out for the rest of camp." said Jake.

"Sounds fine to me." said Bill.

"Sounds great." said Kyle.

"But what exactly are we going to do for the next few days?" asked Lucas.

"I have an idea." said Jake.

"What?" asked Steven.

"What if we made a tent and spent the night outside?" replied Jake.

"That's interesting…but how are we going to do that?" asked Bill.

"My older brother, of course. He can get us a tent, plus other things we could use." said Jake.

"That's smart thinking, Jake." said Steven.

"Cool. Now, I don't know about you guys but I'm getting breakfast." Kyle said, before Lucas, Jake, Steven, and Bill followed.

After eating breakfast, Jake called Matt, via the office phone, while Lucas, Kyle, Steven, and Bill talked about their thoughts on the being in groups and whether they liked it or not. Around 15 minutes later, they saw Matt's car pull up to the parking lot and Matt came out with a smile on his face.

"So, Jake told me you losers had nothing better to do. Well, I got a solution right here." Matt said before pulling out a box that had the pieces for a cabin tent.

"This should fit all five of you. Plus, I brought you guys some snacks and board games." Matt said before handing them to the group.

Jake soon came out of the office and gave Matt a fist bump.

"You owe me, little bro." said Matt.

"I know. Thanks." said Jake. And right after that interaction, Matt drove off.

"Alright, we got the stuff. Now, what time do you want to do this thing?" asked Jake.

"I was thinking we should do it after dinner." said Bill and everyone agreed with him.

For the next few hours, the five friends did nothing but eat lunch, go swimming, play soccer, and compete in several bouts of Foot War. Once they ate dinner, they were ready to spend the night with each other in a big tent.

They spend a decent amount of time setting up the tent, but once it was done, everyone was satisfied. When they entered the tent, they saw how much room they had, so they didn't have to worry about space. Lucas, Jake, Kyle, Steven, and Bill picked their spots and sat down. They all thought about bringing their underwear but they decided not to, so they were all in close proximity with each other in the nude.

"Alright, we're all here together. What should we do first?" asked Jake.

"I say we play Monopoly." said Kyle.

"Sure." said Jake, as the group set up the game. The next hour or so was spent actually playing the game and if you've ever played a game of Monopoly, it's wise not to do it with friends. Although no relationships were fractured, four of the five boys were in a foul mood when the game was over.

"Well, that sucked." said Steven.

"Only because you guys lost and didn't know all the strategies. Plus, I beat the game using only my feet, so I deserve extra points for that." said Kyle.

"I'll give you that, Kyle. Using your feet the whole time was impressive. Doesn't change the fact that this playing this game was a bad idea." said Lucas.

"Yeah, because it's got us all annoyed and angry." said Bill.

"Okay, well, let's not think about Monopoly right now and talk about something. Oh, I know, let's talk about school, since it's not that far away." said Jake.

"School? Well, for me, I wish I didn't have to go back." said Steven.

"Why?" asked Jake.

"Why? Because school sucks, dude. Most of the people at my school are jerks. It's the worst. And Bill can vouch for me since he goes the same school." said Steven.

"Yeah, it's pretty bad. It's actually worse for me since I'm bigger than most kids my age. My size makes me a target for bullies." said Bill.

"That sucks. I don't get why people would do that. It shouldn't matter that you're a big kid. In my opinion, you're awesome and a great friend." said Jake.

"Thanks." said Bill.

"What about you, Kyle?" asked Jake.

"I don't get bullied but no one really talks to me. I'm seen as the weird kid who doesn't like putting on shoes. It's so stupid." said Kyle.

"I feel you, dude. Kids picked on me and bullied me for years because I was weird to them. People just suck sometimes." said Lucas.

"Well, Jake, what's your school experience?" asked Steven.

"It was pretty good at my old school. My social butterfly personality got me a lot of attention, but it wasn't always a good thing. The popular kids tried to push me into joining their group, but I did not like them one bit. They were straight up bullies and made other kids' lives miserable. I always rejected them and found a group of people I actually wanted to hang out with and that was it until I moved." said Jake.

"So, all in all, school sucks for all of us. Right?" said Steven.

"Yep." said Bill.

"Somewhat." said Jake.

"Absolutely." said Kyle.

"Yeah." said Lucas.

"And the good news is that we won't have to think about it for a month and a half." said Steven.

"Wait…what school do you guys go to?" asked Jake.

"John A. Davis Elementary." Bill and Steven said simultaneously.

"Same." said Kyle.

Lucas and Jake looked at each other and smiled before Lucas said, "That's great because I actually go there too and Jake's going to be attending when school starts again."

"Awesome!" Kyle, Bill, and Steven yelled simultaneously.

It took a while but eventually, the five friends went to sleep in the tent. Everyone slept in a sleeping bag except for Jake, who slept on the outside of the bag. Although neither of them knew it, Jake and Steven's hands touched while they slept.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Sorry about the long wait, I had to work on a bunch of other stories before going back to this one. So, the five friends (Lucas, Jake, Kyle, Steven, and Bill) will be a strong clique going forward. Also, the hand touching will be addressed in the next chapter. Plus, the whole summer camp arc is nearly over and I'm planning on the story ending at around 40 chapters. Other than that, I hope you all have a wonderful day. Bye for now and stay safe.
